Toby and Chilly Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
one WASH that.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
That well, good morning and welcome to Wednesday with Toby
and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point one
WASH FM. Feeling good this morning because well people call
and they actually listen. Like yesterday we were talking about
Christmas movie, well.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
The worst Christmas movie we've ever seen, and we all
shared hours and looks like there's somebody that wanted to
add to the list and maybe even try to change
your mind.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Toby, Uh oh, what's your name? Where are you from?

Speaker 4 (00:34):
I'm Katie and from Fairfax?

Speaker 2 (00:36):
All right, Katie and Fairfax? And what is on your
mind this morning?

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Bad movie?

Speaker 5 (00:41):
Bad?

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Bad Christmas movie?

Speaker 5 (00:42):
Is that bad?

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Sam?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Yes? With Billy Bob Thornton.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Yes, the worst ever Christmas movie in history. And I
know it has a cult following and I get it,
but I think it's terrible.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Okay, all right to.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Toby about Hallmark, Toby, watch a movie called five More Minutes.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Okay, you think that's going to change his mind on
how every Hallmark movie is formulaic and horrible.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
It might change it a little bit because it is like,
you know, a rom com thing, but it also has
a different meaning. The main character it's about a loss
of her grandpa. It's their first Christmas without him. I
had lost my mom and it came out that Christmas
and it's an amazing movie.

Speaker 6 (01:29):
It is.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
I can hear the emotion in your voice. It really
spoke to you. Boy.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
I don't think I could watch it. I'd be a
blubbering mess.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
I'm gonna need a lot of Kleenex and tissues if
I start watching that movie and I get emotional.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
It's a good one.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
So you're adding Bad Santa as the worst Christmas movie,
and you're asking Toby to give five more minutes a
try for a Hallmark movie before he decides they all suck.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
I'll give it five minutes.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
You need to give it a touch longer than that,
but yeah, give it a try.

Speaker 6 (02:05):
You might be surprised.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
I'll take your word for it, and I will promise
you I I will watch it and I will try
to be open minded.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Okay, I appreciate that you guys. Have a great day, Chili.
You're amazing. Troby, You're awesome as well.

Speaker 2 (02:18):

and thanks for listening to us. I'm a good day
you too, Katie. Have a great day in Fairfax, and

social media. No doubt you've seen Spotify's Year in Listening

(06:14):
Age contribution to the conversationists.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Yeah, I mean people are kind of laughing about the
listening age that does Spotify has spit out, and one
of our team members, specifically our producer, was pretty stunned
at what his listening ages. And I guess we'll be
in here in just a few minutes to share that.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Yes, Crash, we can't wait to hear how young you are.
That's on the way Stay with it tybeat Chilly in
the morning on ninety seven point one wash FM. Our
producer Crash is in the studio because he's got some
first hand knowledge on this. Spotify is rapped. It's their
year in thing that recaps music and what their listeners

(06:52):
have been listening to, and this year there's something new,
a new twist on things.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
They spit out your listening age based on the type
of songs that you've been listening to the past year. Now,
I don't listen to anything on Spotify, so there was
no listening age for me.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
And I didn't listen enough in the year. That was
because you just didn't. Okay, hard app and sure these things.
So go ahead. Now, are you comfortable telling us your
actual age? Fifty three? Great?

Speaker 3 (07:21):

You are not eighty two years old?

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Wait?

Speaker 2 (07:28):

lot of Duke Ellington.

classy guy that you are.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
So just because you have some songs from back in
the day in your playlist, they're assuming that you're in
your eighties. Oh, you don't understand. Why what do you mean?

Speaker 2 (07:56):
It's more than that. It's Duke Ellington, it's Glenn Miller,
a lot of big bands from the fortiesh.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
I didn't know this about you. That's fair. When are
you listening to this?

Speaker 7 (08:07):

out that age, what was the first thing you said? Oh,
there was the shock.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
I love that.

then forty standards and some other kind of stuff would
cause them to come up with that age. For you,

are probably hanging or have hung the lights on your
Christmas tree incorrectly.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
And you might want to fix that after you hear
what we have to tell you. Stay there for that
conversation coming up. Chances are good you're doing it wrong.
Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point
one wash FM. That's right, not to pour cold water
on your joy this holiday season, but you're probably putting
those lights on your Christmas tree incorrectly.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Yeah, instead of going around in circles like a lot
of people do when they're hanging their lights on the
Christmas tree, you're supposed to hang them vertically, so you
go up and down, up and down. And there are
advantages to doing it that way, like what number one,
your wires don't get as tangled, okay, and number two,
your tree is better lit because you can get like

(23:11):
in between the branches as you're going up and down. Now,
before we bought our pre lit tree, which is perfectly lit,
I had started doing this hack. So it was like
four years ago when I first started doing it, and
it seems a little odd at first, but the result
is really nice.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Yeah, it just seems like too much work for me
to have to try to put lights on a tree.
That's why I too, have one of those pre lit
Christmas trees, because the lights are perfect in the fiber
optics at the ends of the branches and whatnot. Just
they cast a wonderful glow when I actually put the
tree up.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
But when you used to do it the old fashioned way,
were you going in circles around or were you Oh yeah,
because you probably.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Never did the it was around and round and round
and round of God. As much as I'm sure it's beautiful,
I just know i'd screw that whole vertical thing up.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Yeah, it would probably weigh the tree down if you
do it the wrong way. And also if you were
to put lights, I'm team white light over any colored lights,
although our pre lit tree has many different options and modes.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
I hear you on that. I two am team white light,
and I'm even team white Christmas tree as it.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Oh come, oh, yes.

Speaker 6 (24:23):
I just like that.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
It's different. All right. You and my significant other have
been talking again because she's all things Christmas green. And
if she's a real tree, yes, I think she has
something like thirty trees. That's a lot of lights to
be hanging vertically. Hey, if you want to read more
about this Christmas pro tip, we got you covered Toby
in Chilipage at watchfm dot com. Stay there. Coming up
