Why are you feeling good this morning? What's bringing you
some joy before five am? There, CHILIAMR.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
I totally forgot to mention this yesterday morning, but I
am grateful that the construction on the Belway between Tyson's
and the American Leader Bridge is finally over.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
It's funny, I thought about you when I was coming
back from Woodbridge for Thanksgiving, even though the traffic was
still bad.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
You're still bad, but it was different this morning.
Speaker 5 (00:44):
Well, even at one two.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Am, two thirty in the morning, it would sometimes be
just one lane and it would be annoying driving in,
and it was so great the last couple of days.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
I'm like, oh my god, it's finally over.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
I mean, it's a big deal for me personally, and
that is why I'm choosing to share that this morning.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
I forgot to mention this yesterday. Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
My significant other really does amazing things for me. When
I was in the midst of being at rehab for
the knee and all that stuff. She was a big
advocate for me with doctors, and as I'm learning, you
really do need an advocate so you can focus on
healing and all this other stuff. Well, this weekend she
(01:30):
had this idea that we needed to drive through and
see the Christmas lights in Gaithersburg, which is a big
thing up there, and I got some pictures. I was
pleasantly surprised by her idea. And normally I wouldn't be
excited about going to drive through and see Christmas lights,
(01:50):
you know what I mean to me, there's other ways
to spend your time, like going to say ice at
the Gay Lord or someplace like that. But then again,
that requires you to have both knees working well so
you can walk through the whole thing. Yeah, So she
thought about me, worked that into the equation, hit me
up and said do you want to do this?
Speaker 4 (02:09):
And I said, you.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Know what, yeah, And it was pleasantly surprisingly good. Good,
I'm glad it worry And it was right here in
Montgomery County. And by the way, when you drive in,
what do you see a big, giant ninety seven point
one wash FM light display because of course we're Washington's
official Christmas music station, So thanks for the props. Lights

into a brand new day.

to share something with you that we think might help
you to have an even better Tuesday. It's ninety seven
point one wasch FM Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
We call this your morning mindset.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
This is where we share a quote for you to
think about as you take on the rest of your day.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Jesse Cole, guy behind the Savannah Bananas, says, you don't
need to be the best, You just need to be different.
You don't need to be the best, you just need
to be different. So lean into what it is that
makes you stand out. Don't chase likes, don't follow the crowd,
create love and bring joy.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
To that crowd.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
When you what it is that sets you apart, you
stop competing and you start shining. So go and embrace
that today and watch what it does for you. Might
just be brilliant. And that's your morning mindset today. You
don't need to be the best, You just need to
be different. Hopefully it helps. If you need it again,
(06:21):
find it the Toby and Chilipage WASHFM dot com and
stay right there because we're gonna keep the positivity rolling
in just a few minutes. Positivity in spite of itself. Sometimes.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
I mean, you're still recovering from knee surgery and an infection,
and you're gonna look at the silver linings of being
in the condition you're in right now, which I think
is great.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Just because it's painful doesn't mean it's all bad. Stay
there for more that's on the way silver linings in life.
You might think that after two knee surgeries, silver linings
might be hard to find, but there are nonetheless some.
I've notice Toby and Chilly in the morning ninety seven
point one wat chef m Because if you look and
(07:05):
you have your heart open, you'll find some joy while
you're going through whatever it is. You're going through all.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
Right, So I'm sure you've jotted down some positives to
all of this.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
What are they not having to do chores?
Speaker 2 (07:17):
My significant other steps in and helps out because I
can't carry the trash bags across the parking lot.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
It's tough. It's tough, very tough.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
I can't load up the roll later with them all
because well, they're too big. The other thing I've noticed
is that you get a better parking spot if you
have the temporary handicap blacker, that's true, you get to
park the close. Parking across the parking lot is not
an easy thing to do. And I'm still kind.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Of winded when I you know, when I go for
a distance like that. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Yeah, for example, listen back to the podcasts and hear
about my adventures at the movies. Tough.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
You have an excuse.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
For getting out of social events that maybe you didn't
want to attender, me to attend, but yeah, you needed
a good.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Excuse because you gotta stay home and rest, Toby, you
got to keep those knees healthy.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
That's right, because rest is important to recovery.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
Huh.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
And then finally, and this.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Is crazy, but I have enjoyed physical therapy, the forced
prescribed exercises, Okay, they're different. Every time I go in,
I enjoy my physical therapists.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
And let's be honest, you wouldn't have been making time
to do any kind of workout unless you had.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
To go No, and I wouldn't have expected to bond
with a dog as a physical therapist too, you know.
So there are silver linings. Yes, the pain is real,
but you know what, These silver linings help you get
through it. Embrace the silver linings in your life. Today
we're Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It's ninety seven
point one wasch FM. If you get some silver linings

It's a debate, a debate as old is Christmas itself. Okay,
that was dramatic, ninety seven point one wash it them
Toby and Chilly in the morning, and probably a bit
of an embellishment. But nonetheless, it's a debate that happens
with families around this time every year.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
Are you team.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Real Christmas tree or team fake Christmas tree artificial tree?
Let's discuss eight six six nine two seven three sixty one.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Chili thought we are team fake tree. It is more convenient.
It's pre lit, so you don't have to deal with
the tanglement and all that stuff. And let's be honest. Okay,
it's just over time is cheaper. It pays for itself
after a few years.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
Kent and Laurel, are you team real or team fake?
Go ahead? I am partial to real Christmas trees just
for the smell.
Speaker 7 (13:45):
I know a lot of people don't like the needles,
but I have a vacting cleaner, so who cares?
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Kent. You know they make sprays now that can make
your house smell like a Christmas tree.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
That's right, you're talking to the woman who knows all
things incense Over here, I'm gonna add my voice to
team fake.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
And here's why. When I was a younger kid. Growing up,
I was the.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Oldest of four boys, which meant I had to vacuum
the real trees when we got the real trees, and
those needles get everywhere, and then there's other stuff that
gets everywhere, and it just that ruined the real tree
experience for me. I'm team fake because it's just cleaner
and easier to maintain. Yes, effortless thoughts. Are you team
(14:29):
real tree or team artificial tree? Team real or team fake?
Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one
is the number. Join the debate this morning where Toby
and Chilly in the morning and your thoughts are on
the way Toby and Chilly in the morning, where we
are both on a bashedly fake Christmas tree fans that
we are fans of the artificial.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
It's the debate, it's on.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
You can join it at eight sixty six nine two
seven forty three sixty one.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
This morning, we want to know which.
Speaker 5 (14:59):
Do you prefer? The fake tree or the real tree?
Speaker 2 (15:02):
It comes Lisa, She's listening this morning in Silver Spring. Lisa,
where do you stand?
Speaker 8 (15:07):
I am an artificial Christmas tree goal for two reasons.
Number one, it does not require me to vacuum number two.
It does not require me to repurchase. So I'm going
to continue to pull my artificial tree up year after year,
and no the original forty five dollars I spend eight
years ago until the thing is bold.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
All excellent points there, Lisa, and I will add one
more that just occurred to me.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (15:36):
The artificial tree is less of a fire hazard now.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Conversely, Mark, good morning in Woodbridge. You have some thoughts.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
I would rather celebrate the holiday with the real Christmas
tree because it's it's tradition and it's classic, and just
being able to go out and pick out the perfect
tree is just so much fun. It's such a great
memory to have. Mark.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Thank you for your thoughts. This morning team real represent today.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Now there's picking out your own tree that's pre cut
on a parking lot, and there's picking it out and
chopping it down yourself. I've never done that, and I
think at least once we'd like to experience that.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
I can just see you out there at a Christmas
tree farm with a hatchet.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
You think, man, Okay, my husband's gonna trust me to
chop down the.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Oh no, no, I think that well, that is a
good question, Chili. I don't know, but I look forward
to living vicariously through you and only good morning, Tina.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
What's up? Okay?
Speaker 6 (16:31):
So I might be weird on this, but I would
rather celebrate with a fake Christmas tree because real Christmas
trees they smell really good, but.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
They get, you know, they like shit, they get they.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
Get little prepers everywhere on the ground and then you
step on them and it's terrible.
Speaker 6 (16:46):
And then yeah, and then they look terrible, you know.
Speaker 5 (16:48):
Days after Christmas. And I'd rather keep it up till
you know, mid January.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
That's fair.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
You make a really valid point because the real tree
has a shorter shelf life.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
True, don't forget to water it. What do you think?
Real or fake?
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Jump into the conversation, tap the talk bag microphone, leave
us your thoughts if you have a chance. Today, we

Speaker 3 (21:47):
Some people that don't want to be seen.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Well, that's true.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
You definitely won't be taking selfies with that kind of
blemish on your face.

Have you ever called in sick because of a pimple?
I have not know, but I.

has been what it is, people are out spending what
they did last year. According to statistics anyway, twelve billion
spent for Black Friday and about fourteen billion for Cyber Monday.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
But my question is this, Chili, how many of those
people but gifts on Black Friday? Did you do any
shopping for others on Black Friday? Or no?
Speaker 3 (23:36):
I only purchased one gift for somebody else and the
rest of it was things we need around the house,
gifts for you, gifts for the household, Thank you very much. Right, Okay,
well why are you judging me? What did you do
for those days of shopping?
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Much like you, I went and I took advantage of
the fact that they had two of those tubs of
laundry detergents like tied clear very sexy again Amazon. Yeah,
two for a very inexpensive price. It was a Black
Friday special. I was very happy, and so is my
laundry room.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
I will say I noticed that when when there was
Black Friday, before online came around, I felt.
Speaker 5 (24:11):
Like the deals were bigger deals. It would be like.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
A television that's normally two thousand dollars for fifty dollars
