Speaker 1 (00:00):
Toby and Chilly Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point one.
Why shut out?

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Well, I know why you're feeling good before five o'clock
this morning, if you live in the DMV and you
happen to be a fan of all things that bring
good things to the DMV, or if you're a hockey fan,
there's a new great one in professional hockey today as
we get into a new week.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
It happened over the weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
It happened on the road, which was kind of a bummer,
but it happened, and that's all that matters.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Yesterday it happened. It happened yesterday afternoon. Alex Ovechkin scored
is eight hundred and ninety fifth goal, beating Wayne Gretzky's record,
and they stopped the game for about fifteen to twenty minutes.
They had a great ceremony on the ice with Ovi's wife,
his kids, his father in law, his mom, teammates. It

(00:47):
was lovely.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
And now we all need to get down to Capitol
One Arena at like eight o'clock this morning so we
can go get all the OV merch that they're putting
on sale this morning.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
They sure are all sorts of it. Yes that's right.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
So if you want to get job on, you might
want to run a little bit late to work today.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
I'm sure they'll understand.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Okay, No, for real, it is release all the details
of yours coming up.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
If you need them, well we'll hook you up.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Because there's that's the reason everybody in the DMV is
feeling good this morning.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Anything else kind of would pale in comparison.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
No, it's really cool for the city, and to your point,
it would have been nice if it wasn't in New York.
But hey, it's okay. Well, you know, we're not done yet.
He's not done yet.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
But you know what was really great was how many
people from the DMV went to New York. Like there
were scenes from you know, train stations and just there.
I mean, I saw on social media so many people
I know that you know, they took their pandemonium to
a new level. They said, you know what, we're fans,
We're going to this and it didn't really matter how
much it costs. And I was actually very shocked at

(01:52):
how much of the DMV made their way up to this.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
It's not a very long trip, so thankful, no, thankfully
he had those DMV support there and.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
To witness history happen. It's kind of a big deal.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
So if you were there very jealous of you, feel
free to call and tell us all about it if
you want to. Eight six six three sixty one. That's
the number. Toby and Chilly in the morning. Talkback also
works if you're listening on your iHeart app. We got
some more news coming up in a few minutes. Top
Stories the Top of the Hour. What's going on?

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netan Yahoo visiting the White House today.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Welcome to Monday, d C.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Good Morning, Top Stories, Top of the Hour.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Top Stories presented by Celsius Energy Drinks. Alex Ovechkin. Well,
he broke Wayne Gretzky's record. He scored his eight hundred
ninety fifth career goal at the Washington Capitals game yesterday
against the New York Islanders. Unfortunately, the Caps ended up
losing that game four to one. US stock futures are
on the decline ahead of a new trading week on
Wall Street. The Dow S and B five hundred and

(02:52):
Nasdaq futures all fell roughly four percent yesterday. The markets
have been taking a steady beating over concerns the President
has ignited a global trade war with his new tariffs. Meanwhile,
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin NETANYAHUO will visit the White House
today to discuss new US tariffs imposed on his country,
and the talks will also likely include Israel's war in Gaza.

(03:15):
Protests against the Trump administration policies took place in DC
and across the nation over the weekend. Millions participated in
over twelve hundred hands off demonstrations where they criticized firing
of federal workers, cutting essential programs, and also reducing protections
for vulnerable people. A federal judge says that the US

(03:38):
government's decision to arrest a Maryland man and send him
to a notorious prison in El Salvador appears to be
quote holy lawless and has ordered the Trump administration to
bring him back to the US. And according to a
new study, thirty one percent of individuals would be willing
to take a pay cut for a whole year if

(03:59):
it meant being allergy free, and some other things that
they'd be willing to give up included coffee and social media.
Forecast for today is going to be cloudy, with periods
of rain, highs about fifty right now forty nine and Fosters.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
And that's the news.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Remember, tell five friends you get top stories at the
top of the hour when you wake up with Toby
and Chilly in the morning here at ninety seven point
one WASHFM. And also let them know that we care
about you so much so that we take a moment
every morning to talk about you and your state of mind.
You do an okay today, how's your mindset? We'll talk
in minutes. Stay right there. You are the reason we

(04:33):
are here at ninety seven point one WASHFM, Toby and
Chilly in the morning, and is such, we like to
take a moment to talk about you and how you're
doing this morning.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
We call this your morning mindset?

Speaker 4 (04:44):
And what is the quote that you have found for everybody?

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Nelson Mandela says, do not judge me by my success,
judge me by how many times I fell down and
got back up again. Perhaps you found yourself in life
feeling much like Nelson Mandela once did. Right, Well, here's
the thing to remember. Real strength is not found in

(05:07):
never failing. It's shown in resilience, the determination to get
up every time you fall. And who's to determine whether
or not the fall is actually a fall, right that's
on you keep standing back up no matter what success
will follow you. Nelson Mandela says, do not judge me
by my success. Judge me by how many times I

(05:30):
fell down and got back up again. That is what
creates a legacy. Hopefully that helped. If it did share
with someone whom I need to hear it, maybe like
you just did. You can find it on the Toby
and chilipage at washfm dot com your morning mindset, or
you can reach out to one of us will happily
send it your way because you're that important. It's ninety
seven point one WASHFM coming up with us in just

(05:51):
a few minutes.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
So a bunch of guys I've gotten together and they're
suing only fans WHOA because they say the models, so
called models, weren't really models that they.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Were talking to old day models.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
How dare you lie.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
To us allegedly?

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Well, you know, there are lots of thoughts to be
had on that. If you've got some eight sixty six
nine two seven forty three sixty one, otherwise we'll unpack
it all coming up. Have you ever told a lie
to try to impress somebody? You FIBs, straight up fibbed
and tried to impress them. Would you say how to
work out for you and Tilly in the morning? It's
ninety seven point one, washef And let's get into it

(06:27):
this morning. Because there's some dudes sue and only fans.
Maybe you've heard of that website. It's a side hustle
website only fans. They realize that they're talking with people
that aren't actually models, yes, and.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
They're very upset, Toby. Then they thought they were talking
to real life models and they want their money back
and they're suing.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
That's on you if you didn't realize that that's an
only fan scam, a lameding dong and you probably weren't
going to be talking to that woman who you saw
right there and the lingery. Yes, yeah, that's not on us.
I don't know how you have the right to sue
only fans. You're the one who bit it hookline and sinker.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Wow. Yeah, no, that's not okay. Although I can see
why OnlyFans is pulling that scam, because obviously the attractive
woman can very much be impressive to a man who's
lonely and just want someone to talk to.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
And I can understand why guys might lie because they're
lonely and they just want somebody to talk to.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
But nonetheless, a lie is a lie.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
You will eventually get busted Toby and Chilly in the
Morning at eight sixty six ninety two, seven forty three
sixty one.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Talkbacks open too.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
If you want to tap speak and send your son
into your iHeart app so use it. Leave us a message.
Tell us you ever lie to somebody to try to
impress them and get busted out. Jason, Good morning in Fairfax.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
One time I told a woman I owned a restaurant.
I absolutely do not. I just work for someone who does.
Not that it mattered. It didn't impress her anyway.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
It didn't impress her because she didn't believe you, because
if you truly owned a restaurant, you wouldn't even have
time to date.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
That don't impress me much. To quote Shanaiah Twainy. Yes,
all right, Leslie, good morning, thanks for listening.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
In Silver Spring. Tell us about that lie.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
I once told someone I was fluent in French to
impress him until they started speaking it and then I
had to admit.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
And that's when he said, ouvoa to you ou voi
wee oe oe au voir.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Goodbye. Hang on, we've got the news in minutes. By
the way, if you've lied and you've got a story
about it, tell us everything. Taut the talk bag microphone.
We're listening and we'll listen to that news. Top stories
at top of the hour.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Coming up a.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Top Stories Top of the hour.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Alex Ovechkin is now the all time leader and goal
scored in the NHL. He scored his eight hundred and
ninety fifth goal yesterday in a four to one loss,
unfortunately to the New York Islanders. Former record holder Wayne
Gretzky attended that game and praised Ovi during an on
ice ceremony. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netton Yaho's going to
be meeting with President Trump at the White House today.

(08:57):
The President said he invited net and Yahoo for discussions,
including tariffs that are imposed on Israel, and they'll also
probably talk about Israel's war in Gaza, a fifty year
old woman was arrested for allegedly selling drugs while she
was working as a DC crossing guard. Court documents indicated
that oxycodone, cocaine, a digital scale, and cash were all

(09:21):
seized by police. There will be light rail cars running
on a mile long track of the Purple Line in
glen Ridge, Maryland. It's part of a dynamic testing program
and the next step before passenger service begins. That's also
happening now. Hopefully it'll all start in twenty twenty seven.
Ocean City is suspending its boardwalk tram service through at

(09:44):
least the summer because of that deadly accident that happened
last summer. Back on August twentieth of last year, a
two year old boy was crossing the boardwalk trampad when
he was hit and killed. And according to a recent study,
the secret to feeling fulfilled it's not about what goals
you chase, but why you chase them. Researchers found that

(10:06):
people who pursue goals for personal joy or meaningful social
connections are happier than those who are driven by the pressure, guilt,
or need to please others. Forecast for today cloudy with
periods of rain throughout the day. Highs around fifty right
now forty eight in Fredericksburg.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
All right, so I want to preface this by saying
that I am personally as a fan of AI very
excited to see so many people now using AI and
some of the different stuff that chat GPT is allowing
people to do when it comes to content creation and
photographs and animation and whatnot. That being said, want to

(10:44):
take your temperature on this. Would you trust AI to
be your doctor? Apple's developing an AI doctor service? Do
you have thoughts? Eight sixty six nine two seven forty
three sixty one. Chilly and I are going to talk
about some of our thoughts because you might be surprised.
As much of a fan of AI as you may
or may not be, This might make you feel some

(11:07):
sort of way, and we'll get into it. Coming up
with Toby and Chili in the morning.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Stay right there.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Do you say artificial intelligence and people get very visceral
eight six six nine two seven forty three sixty one.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
Toby and Chilly in the morning. You're on this Monday,
April seventh.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Want to get your take on what Apple is doing
with AI when it comes to health. Have you heard
of Project Mulberry or Health Plus because everything with Apple
has a plus on it. Well, Apple wants to take health,
your health specifically that they can help you with to
a completely new level.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
I mean they're going to analyze your health data. We're
talking about your heart rate, activity, and then they're going
to give you some wellness advice, right, which I'm a
fan of an app helping you stay healthy. I'm just
not okay if this evolves into having Apple or anybody

(11:59):
else use AI to treat, like give you a treatment plan.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
You know what I'm saying, Yes, I will tell you
is somebody who uses the Apple Health app and has
used it with some of my own health issues and
stuff going on.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
It is not just a sleep tracker. It is not
just a step counter.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
There is a whole lot of data that's going back
and forth and it's saved. Like we're talking from Adventist Healthcare.
I have from when I was in the hospital recently
in my phone, reasons why, complete blood tests, complete workups
that are all in my phone. All of that data
goes into the health app to tell me things about
me that I need to know.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
I think, however, but chilly.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
If it said would you like us to diagnose what's
wrong with you?

Speaker 3 (12:45):
Click here, that answer is no.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
I'd be fine with a diagnosing because it's first the
diagnosis is just an opinion of a computer saying here's
what we think you may have. Okay, right, I could
take that and go to a human doctor, see what
the human doctor has to say and compare it. Now,
I'm sure the human doctors are going to be like great,
first doctor Google and now doctor AI.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Get out of here, you know.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
But still it gives you something to go on and
you have to be your own advocate, and you have
to go in there armed with some you know, health
data about yourself and be like, can you please check
this because it may be what's.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Going on with I don't disagree with that, but here's
what I do think, and this is maybe where it's
a little bit different. And while I love what Apple's
doing with it, I think that there is a reason
the human equation is so important to AI. AI is
better when you have the human equation guiding it when
it comes to your health. I would rather have a

(13:45):
doctor who said at Hopkins or wherever, who got their
degree doing this stuff for me. That's not like what
you see on TV or whatever, or not like a
hologram on Star Trek. That comes down to do what
I want to talk to a person who knows me,
who's seen me, who with this data.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
Armed with this data can make the best decisions. We're
saying the same thing.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Yeah, well, I just wouldn't want to click the button
and say diagnose me. I would say, here's the data
that I've accumulated. But I'm not gonna ask. I'm not
going to check a box that says would you like
a diagnosis? I'm gonna go to a human person doctor
and sit there on that table and have that conversation.
But that's just me thoughts. No, No, that's it. Okay,

(14:28):
Well then now do you have thoughts? If so, feel
fear to chime in. The talkback microphone is always open.
And now we're going to play a.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Game Shelby and Chilly's nearly impossible question?

Speaker 3 (14:39):
All right, what's question? This morning?

Speaker 4 (14:40):
Just over a third of Americans say they've cheated on this?

Speaker 3 (14:43):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Mm eight six six nine two seven forty three sixty one.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Hmmm. That's a third of Americans they say they've done what.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
They've cheated on this? What is it?

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
Tickets to see the weekend thanks to Live Nation Northwest

Think about it? It's ninety seven point one? Was chef

Speaker 1 (15:12):
The wet Toby and Chilly's nearly impossible question?

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Tickets to the Weekend up for grabs thanks to Live Nation.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
The question again.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Is just over a third of Americans say they've cheated
on this? What is it?

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Bill and Gaithersburg, Good morning. What do you think the
answer would be?

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Today? They cheat on their tax return?

Speaker 4 (15:31):
Yes, they have cheated on their taxes.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
That's right there, Bill, you know what that means.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
That means I get it. Go to the Northwest Stadium.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
To see the Weekend when the Weekend comes to perform.
Thanks to Live Nation. Congratulations, thank you very much. Tickets

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Now, Top stories, Top of the Hour, case you missed it.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Alex Ovechkin broke Wayne Gretzky's wrecker by scoring his eight

on her order to have a Mariland man returned from

In a strongly worded ruling, Judge Paula Zennis call the

it could remove someone without a clear way to bring
them back. The TSA says a recent discovery at Dallas

a healthy diet in your forties, fifties, and sixties was
associated with a higher chance of healthy aging. Healthy aging
is defined as reaching the age of seventy without chronic
diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease, or
not having cognitive, physical, or mental health impairments. Forecast for today,

it's going to be cloudy with periods of rain. Fifty

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Tell all your friends you get top stories. At the
top of the hour with ninety seven point one WASCHCHIFM,
Good morning.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
I'm telling that Tilliam R.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
And I were just talking and we would love for
you to call us at eight sixty six ninety two,
seven forty three sixty one and tell us about a
sound that brings back some memories for you. And the
reason why we bring this up is because our producer
Taylor Shay says, she thinks of her dad every time
she hears something.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
So what is it she hears that makes her think
of her father?

Speaker 2 (18:18):
And perhaps maybe you have a sound that instantly takes
you back to a place of a nostalgia where memories
catch that passion's fire. Give us a call eight sixty
six ninety two, seven forty three sixty and one.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
We'll talk about it.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Coming up in just feel what is your Taylor Shad
come up on you in here, Toby and Chilly in
the morning. It's ninety seven point one wash FM. Sometimes
a sound can conjure memories and feelings. And I understand
this is happening for you. What happened?

Speaker 5 (18:42):
Yeah, the rumbling of a semi truck engine and hearing
the air brakes go psh reminds me of my childhood
with my dad.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
So when is this happening? That this not on the
like two seventy or the belt wages driving no at a.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
Stoplight, so you hear the truck coming up by your rumbling,
and I will roll down the window to hear a
rumble and air brakes.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
And Dad is in your memory because.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
He was a truck driver my whole childhood, and that
rumble of a semi meant Dad was home.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Do you ever intentionally pull up next to a truck
at a red light just to hear that sound?

Speaker 5 (19:13):
I do, but not dump trucks. That is a different
engine rumble and I guess that.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Has nothing to do and I guess the jake break
is an entirely different thing all the way around the.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Breaks.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
I love that.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
I love that that memory. It's true though, smells, sounds,
they definitely take you back.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Every time you have anything like that.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
Showing like pitter patter of rain drops on certain surfaces
makes me think about when we went camping at Point
Lookout as a kid, and that was the same sound
that the rain made on the tent.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Maybe the crack of a baseball reminds me that my
dad used to be a baseball coach for us when
I was in Little League, and that always meant big
league chew was in the future. But aside from that,
I'm not quite sure that I have anything that's moving.
Is the story of the trucks at the stop light
at his home? Eight sixty six nine two seven forty
three sixty one. Is there a sound that takes you

(20:04):
to a place that just brings you memories? Tell us
all about them. We'll start with you, Alex. Good morning,
and thanks for listening at Tacoma Park. What's going on?

Speaker 5 (20:12):
Listening to the ice cream truck and the jingle you
know brings me back to the healthy day that you
were when I was a kid.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
I love the fact that you said, Halseyon days, sir.
Are you talking about that sound that the ice cream
truck makes, the doo doo doo doo doot.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
Yeah, it hasn't changed in decades, because one of them
comes to our street and it's literally the same one.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
It's like a screwed up music box sound. Yes, that's
how I know.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
That's the ice cream man stopping while he's passing by.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
Super nostalgic.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
Yes, thank you for jumping in eight sixty six, nineteen seven,
forty three sixty one.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
Is there a.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Sound which brings you all of the memories? It takes
you back to a place in time. We're talking about
it this morning. Join the conversation, tap the talk back
microphone if you're signed into your ear and app.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
Or give us a call.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
We'll get back into this coming up in just a
few minutes with Toby and Chilly in the morning. But first,
a story that we think might just make you a Monday.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
A sophomore at the University of Maryland has found a
better way to build a battery all by bouncing a
soccer ball.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
You mean he's bouncing his way to better batteries.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Yes, here's a story you're not gonna want to miss
coming up at seven thirty nine.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
It's ninety seven point one. Why sht you have FIM
on Monday? That needs its time.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
For us to share a story that we think might
just make your Monday, because it's certainly made ours. So,
how does a sophomore at UNBC, the University of Maryland,
Baltimore County find a way to build a better battery
with a soccer ball of bouncing soccer ball?

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Well, this happened, okay.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
So his name is Sam Bendick, and he first got
the idea back when he was sixteen years old and
he was working at a soccer ball manufacturing company. He
was bouncing a ball and he studied how it returned
energy and kind of had that aha moment of oh,
kinetic energy from natural rubber could be harnessed for a battery.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
Flash forward to now, the sixteen year old former sixteen
year old is twenty one and he's the CEO of
his own company, Elastic Energy, And what they do is
they use rubber tree SAP to create elastic bands as.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
Fuel for batteries.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
And he thinks that and believes and according to everything
he's finding out that hospitals, data farms, and data centers
places that can't afford to be held a victim to
a blackout should the power fail. They're looking for a
cost effective way to make sure that they have power.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
And here we go with his idea.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
And his design isn't just cheaper, but it's also more
affordable in the long run. So instead of replacing an
entire battery, only that elastic band will need to be
swapped out every like four to five years, which is
a fraction of the cost. So he's really created something amazing.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Amazing and safer than lithium ion batteries too, because those
batteries can be combustible. Unbelievable. Plus he doesn't have to
mine minerals that leave behind waste. It's a simple and
it all started with a bouncing soccer right now.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
I love can you believe this?

Speaker 4 (23:05):
And I love that he's a student here in the DMV, I.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Know, right at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County u

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
Alex so Vechkin is now the all time leader in
goals scored in the NHL. He scored his a ninety
fifth goal yesterday in a four to one loss to
the New York Islanders. Former record holder Wayne Gretzky attended
the game and praised Ovie during an on ice ceremony.
Markets are down around the world as investors continue to

(24:14):
react to the president's sweeping tariffs. In pre market trading
here in the US, all signs are pointing to a
sharply lower open today. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Nettan
Yahoo is going to be meeting with the President at
the White House today to discuss the tariffs imposed on Israel.
A member of the Fairfax County School Board is dismissing

(24:35):
claims that he embezzled thousands of dollars from a flight
school in Manassas. The lawsuit accuses Kyle McDaniel of improperly
using company credit cards to charge personal expenses even after
he was dismissed as secretary and treasurer. Ocean City is
suspending its very popular boardwalk tram service at least through

(24:55):
this summer because of a deadly accident that happened last
year on August twentieth of twenty twenty four. A two
year old boy was crossing the boardwalk trampad when he
was struck and killed. And TikTok's getting a seventy five
day extension to continue operating in the US. President Trump
made the announcement after a deal to sell TikTok to

(25:16):
a new company fell through. I Meanwhile, Walmart has thrown
its hat into the ring with a group of investors
hoping to purchase the app. Forecast for today cloudy with
some periods of rain, hides around fifty right now forty
five and ashburn.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
A few minutes ago with Toby and Chilly in the morning,
our producer Taylor Say said that she thinks of her
dad every time she hears the rumbling of a semi oh.
The nostalgia of sound, the power of sound to bring
back a memory. Is there a certain sound that causes
you to think of something, to remember something that takes
you to a place a halcyon day, back in the

(25:55):
day as it were, eight sixty six, nine two, seven
forty three sixty one is the number of the top
back microphone is wide open. Thanks for making this preset
number one on your Iheartnet. By the way, tap speak
and send, tell us what that memory was, tell us
what that sound is and we'll get into it coming up.
Sometimes that's the power of sound. A sound can take
you to a place in time you thought you might

(26:16):
have forgotten, and you relive these memories. It's the ultimate
inducer of nostalgia. Those were a bunch of really big words.
On a Monday ninety seven point one wash FM, Toby
and chilly in the morning. But we are talking about
sounds that conjure memories based on the fact that Taylor
Sha our producer, whenever she hears a truck, it reminds
her of her father, her father who was an over

(26:37):
the road truck driver.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
So the sounds of the truck.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
Well, specifically a truck stopping and then the little sound
that up to break.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:48):
Yes, nostalgia, it's a thing.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
At eighty six six two seven forty three sixty one
talk Back Microphones Wide open two. Sam, is there a
sound that gives you a feeling of nostalgia?

Speaker 3 (26:59):
What is it? Go ahead?

Speaker 1 (27:00):
Opening a cereal bag.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
It reminds me of my mom getting us ready to
go to school. If cereal is what you're having for breakfast,
it means you didn't give her enough time to make
some eggs and bacon and pancakes.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Very nostalgic sounds with very nostalgic smells much better than
the nostalgia mean like I told you it's time to
get up, it's time for school.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Get out of bed, Toby.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
I want to sleep mom, Sam, Thank you, Toby and
chill you in the morning. It's ninety seven point one
wash FM over here to Vienna, Molly, good morning. What's
that sound that instantly takes you to a memory or
some nostalgic feeling.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
That's gonna sound weird, but like frying pan. My grandma
makes like these amazing omelets, and just like the sound
for her talking over her frying the omeless is kind
of a.

Speaker 5 (27:50):
Thing for me.

Speaker 4 (27:51):
That sizzle is a cool sound. That smell from that
sizzle as a that's a whole different sensory.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
Different vibe all together.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
Mare frying things. The sound that your daughter's gonna remember, Toby,
is the sound of your fire alarm going off because
you trigger it every time. Every time I hear that
smoke alarm, I think of my dad burning pizza.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
And we'll be right now.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
One more Toby and Jilly head over to WASHAFM dot
com or the iHeartRadio app.
