Toby and Chilly Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point one.
Wha out.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
There's so many reasons to feel good when you start
a brand new day, but today the biggest reason I'm
excited and I'm feeling good before five o'clock because that's
technically when we start. We try to get ahead of
things here with Toby and Chilly in the morning at
ninety seven point when wastch FM is that I can
finally talk to you about the way lotus. I assume
you watched the finale yesterday because I know Sunday night
was kind of too late for you.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Yes, I did watch it, and I didn't love it.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
So you did not love it. I thought it made sense.
Now I'm I'm a Johnny come lately. This season was
really my first season of being invested in the show.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Maybe a difference.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
I've learned from watching the first two seasons what I
kind of need to know. But it just to me
is a very heavy story. It's very film now or esque,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Yeah, Well, I was gonna say I was feeling good
this morning that I got to watch the finale of
a show that we're talking about right now is on
Netflix without being ruined for me on the internet yesterday,
because I really did have wore a lot of spoiler
related things and I'm glad I you know.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
They were everywhere.

Speaker 5 (01:06):
Like.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
That's the interesting thing about the internet yesterday is I
noticed that, like and they were all official news sites.
And that's in addition to the pundit sphere and your
friends and all this other stuff on social media. Everybody
Johnny come lately cheering in.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Rather talk about being disappointed in the White Lotus finale
than tariffs any day.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Well, yeah, that's a better discussion, yes, suh.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
So many other things to talk about other than some
of the news which just is to depress it.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
But also, if you're a fan of the show, it
has been renewed for a fourth season.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yep, and I hope that it's true. I did read
this this morning that they're talking about an all star season,
like with casts from each of the first three seasons
all in one White Lotus hotel. That would be awesome
to me. Yeah, I would enjoy that very much. But anyway,
if you haven't watched it, not gonna spoil the finale,
You go watch it, you enjoy, let us know what
you're thinking. If you've got thoughts, talk back. Microphones always

the birthplace of innovation, creativity, and change. Now, maybe you

or you're letting down your guard or whatnot. Well, remember
that your biggest breakthroughs are hidden in moments of authenticity

Gather and get the little baby crabs that lived on
the sand. They would come up when it's rains. We
would put them in a little basket and see how many,
Robert can you get? Four tonight and we set them
free in the ocean. The waves would take them back,
bring them back in.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
We had fun.

When's the last time you bought some cheese? There, Keith?
Just yesterday this morning? Perhaps maybe it's very funny.

Speaker 5 (13:15):

Florida is back on top of men's college basketball. They
overcame a twelve point deficit to beat Houston sixty five
to sixty three in the national championship last night. The
President says he will raise tariffs on China by another
fifty percent if the country does not get rid of
retaliatory tariffs on US goods. He's set today as the

(14:29):
deadline for China to undo its thirty four percent duties
that were put in place to the reciprocal tariffs that
were announced last week by the White House. The Supreme
Court says a mistakenly deported Maryland man can stay in
a foreign prison indefinitely. Chief Justice John Roberts issued an
order blocking the deadline for Kilmar Garcia to be returned

(14:51):
to the US from a notorious prison in El Salvador.
Spotsvania County authorities are investigating after a gun went off
in a student's backpack yesterday. This happened in a third
grade classroom at Leehill Elementary School. Thankfully, nobody was hurt
and investigators do not believe the student meant to do
any harm. Raccoon has tested positive for rabies in Arlington.

Animal Control is asking anyone in the Tara Leeway Heights
neighborhood who came into contact with the animal to call
them as soon as possible, and the National Park Service
has removed a photo of Harriet Tubman from a web
page dedicated to the Underground Railroad and replaced it with
images of postal stamps featuring those connected to the railroad,

(15:37):
including Tubman. The website also changed references to enslaved African
Americans to enslaved workers. Forecasts for today sonny and windy.
Highs around forty five right now thirty four in restin.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Hey, grab the phone, want to know what you mastered?
After multiple attempts eight sixty six, nine two, seven, forty
three sixty one. And by the way, if you've got
your iHeart app open number one, thank you for making
us preset number one. On the app number two, you
can always tap the talk back microphone to answer that question,
what did your master? After multiple tries bringing it up.
Because Chili's very excited she perfected something, she'll tell us

(16:14):
what it was, and then we've got to hear from you.
What did you master? Much like Chili did. We'll get
to this in just minutes. Do not go anywhere. If
you've listened to Toby and Chili in the morning for
some time, you know that at Chili's house, Chili handles
most of this stuff in the kitchen, I'm the.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Cook and he cleans up.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
So that's fine, but there's one dish in particular, and
I am married to an Italian, so I wanted to.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Perfect making risotto because it's a.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Challenging dish to make since you have to babysit it,
make sure it doesn't burn, and you also make sure
the consistency is right, that it's not too mushy.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Now, from what I understand here at ninety seven point
one wash FM from watching Gordon Ramsay on Hell's Kitchen,
you can either do risotto right or you can do
it horribly, horribly wrong. If he doesn't know what's staying
on for result time. Wait, it's planned, the rice is
still on the coach.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Disgusting.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Well, yes, and for years that's how my risotto would
turn out. But I'm very proud to say that I've
got it down now.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Now, what would Gordon Ramsey say, disgusting?

Speaker 3 (17:14):
Not disgusting?

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Well, can you bring some of that risutto in because
now I'd kind of like to try that if you
finally mastered it, Chili, And there's something to be said
about finally mastering something when in your life you're confident
that you've finally mastered itself, as risotta was all that
I'm just saying, David Woodbridge, good morning and thanks for
calling us at eight sixty six ninety two, seven forty
three sixty one. Is there something that you're confident you've

(17:37):
finally mastered in life?

Speaker 7 (17:39):
I would have to say turning my phone off? Definitely.

Speaker 5 (17:42):
I was.

Speaker 7 (17:43):
I was the type of person I would always have
to like text right back or mester somebody right back.
Now I've come today as where I can leave it
alone for a few hours, even sometimes.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
The whole day.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Well, now that is more impressive than making risotta.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
My sure tongue, no pun intended to either one of you.
The Risotto I'm willing to try. But the phone thing,
I will admit that's a little bit of a tougher
putt and it has me feeling anxious thinking about trying
not to jump when I get some sort of a text.
Good for you and thank you for sharing that day
this morning eight six six ninety two, seven forty three

(18:16):
sixty one. You've got Toby and Chilly in the morning.
We're talking about something in life that you're confident you
finally mastered. Could be risotto, could be ignoring the phone
when somebody messages or you get some sort of a notification.
What is it that you are confident you've mastered?

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Hit us up.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Now we'll talk about it coming up as Toby and
Chilly in the Morning continues.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
But next, Donna in Noakesville went on a date with
a guy who was very good at buttering her popcorn.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Not risotto. Now wait till you hear this crazy first
date story we've got for you coming up in minutes.
Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
It's Toby and Chilly crazy first date.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Good morning, Donna and Noki's Villa Chili and I hear
you have a crazy first date story. We're all ears.
The floor is yours. Tell us everything.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
I was set up on a briand date for a friend.

Speaker 6 (19:03):
He picked me up and took me to a movie,
and later on I found out it was a free
movie and free popcorn because his uncle run the theater.
From that point on, from that first night that we
went out of.

Speaker 7 (19:15):
Date, we were together every day since, and four.

Speaker 6 (19:18):
Months later we got married.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
Wall We've been married for forty three years and three
kids later.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
He always did no time. Now, was it because his
family owned the movie theater that you fell for him?
Like a romantic kind of a movie kind of a.

Speaker 6 (19:31):
Thing or no, No, we just hit it off for
some reason.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
And like you said, we've been together.

Speaker 6 (19:36):
Forty three years and three kids later and three k
rand kids, so well it must be good for that
is great.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
And Donna, you went out of your way to mention
that he didn't have to pay for the popcorn or the.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Movie because he had connection. Were you initially kind of turned.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
Off by the fact that he wasn't even spending a
dime on you on that and like, how did he
win you over?

Speaker 3 (19:55):
I didn't even know that until we got after we
got married.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Wow, So did you just find it to be a
very fun evening of bliss?

Speaker 3 (20:04):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (20:04):
I did. I mean I just said, we just I
guess we just had the.

Speaker 6 (20:07):
Connection to each other.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
And we went out every night from then and we
originally set the wedding date to be October, which would
have been six months, which is still not much better.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Good popcorn's magical.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Yeah, if you had the mind going that way, I.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
Was talking about butter on a popcorn.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
She's right, Donna, you are a smart woman, and you know,
we appreciate that you share that very wholesome first family
story story and because you share that story. We would
love to send you to go see Billy, Joel and
Sting at National's Park September fifth.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
They got popcorn, and that's park they do. It's good
tasty popcorn.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
I love it there, and I won't have put no
extra butter on popcorn there either.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Well, now that we're all properly buttered up, you hang
on the line, and speaking of being buttered up, if
you'd like to butter us up and perhaps movie tell
us a story, we have some free stuff in it
for you.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
We'd love to send you also to go see Billy, Joel,
Ensting at National's Park September fifth. So tell us about
your crazy first aid story.

Gotta hear from you. What did you finally master after
multiple attempts? Like it took you time after time after time,
you tried and tried and tried, then finally boom, you
cracked that nut, so to speak, you mastered it. Chili, Uh,
perfected making risotto after multiple tries. And look, risotto is
so good, but it's not easy to do and it's

(23:26):
real easy to screw up. So you know you should
feel proud of yourself. There, Chili, thank you. I'm noticing
you didn't bring me that risotto in but there's always tomorrow.
So now back to you. Listening to ninety seven point

the morning. It's ninety seven point one wash. Now, why
are we talking about risotto? Am I thinking about lunch?

Speaker 6 (24:03):
No?

Speaker 2 (24:03):
I'm thinking about the fact that Chile You've mastered it.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
Yeah, after many years of trying it, I finally figured
out how to make a perfect risotto. And so it
sort of begs the question like, is there something you've
worked on time and time again and you finally figured
it out?

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Because it is an accomplishment to master something that you've
been working on. Jeane and Oxen Hill, what have you
finally mastered hacking? And I go on a vacation. I
use pecking cubes and I can fit every single inch
of my suitcase with exactly what I need specific to
the trip.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
That right there is an art form.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Yeah, do you think you could make a YouTube video
on how exactly you do that? I'm asking for a friend,
because God knows I can't pack. Gene. Thank you for
jumping in this morning. Now let's go over to Marla Marla, Hello,
and thank you for listening to us in Silver Spring
this morning. We're Telby and Chili in the morning. What
is something you're confident you find mastered in life?

Speaker 6 (25:01):
You know what?

Speaker 1 (25:02):
I think I'm mastering my anger.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Huh what.

Speaker 6 (25:05):
There used to be a time I used to be
that type of person where like, but now I'm like, okay,
you know what.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
I look at people where they are and I just
feel like, you know what, they has nothing to do
with me. I think I'm mastering my anger.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
I'm not what I used to be. Thank you for
the clarification. Now I get it.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Yeah, because the last thing we wanted is for you
to come roll up on us at eighteen oh one
Rockville Pike. Can be waiting outside, you know, like like
we like made you angry or something today?
