weird like it was.

It was real good technology would do that if it's
And by the way, that kind of technology is not cheap.

health things and the fact that they come together to
do what they do. So it just it just was.

we tend to think of positive examples, but apparently when
we're asked about other people's karma, we think of the negative,
something bad, happening to them karma, and so we were

Speaker 1 (12:41):
I just get just treated like a taco Tuesday, and
I make Margarita's at the house and then we just
watch movies.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
That's just about it. Aiden, thanks for the call.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
And by the way, if you are going to be

Ten percent of people have had this in their garage
for at least three years and haven't used it.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (13:17):

Speaker 3 (13:21):
That's your question.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Get it Rides Chicago, the Musical Capital, One Hall and
Tysons on the thirtieth of this month. Think of the culture.
It'll be a great date night. Here's the question again.

Speaker 4 (13:33):

for at least three years and haven't used it.

Speaker 2 (13:39):

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Over at Tysons there's Capital one Hall, Chicago the Musicals
there and you could go at the end of the
months to see it. Let's say, in Arlington, good morning
to Glenn. Good morning, Glenn, Good morning, Good morning, Good
morning Glenn. You've got the question.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Your guess is, I think it might be a lawnmower.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
So how long has the lawnmower at your house been
in the garage?

Speaker 1 (14:21):
I've been in apartments for the past decade. I don't
know if I even remember how to use the lawnmower.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Well, you know, there's something to be said about having
the landscaping done.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
You know, I like not having.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
To worry about it. But I used to do all
the neighbors lawns when I.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
Was a kid.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
Oh okay, that was very nice of you. Maybe if
those neighbors had lawnmowers. They certainly wouldn't need to touch
it because good old Glenn.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Would be mowing the lawn, right. That's an excellent guest, Glenn.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
And yes, ten percent of people have had a lawnmower
in their garage for three years have.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
The NFL Draft will be coming to DC in twenty
twenty seven. Muldule reports indicate that the NFL's can be
making or announcing those plans at the White House today
and that the draft will reportedly be held on the
National Mall. Well, Americans are going to have to get
back to paying off their government student loans starting today.

(15:47):
The collection efforts will be the first since the start
of the pandemic in twenty twenty. The debt will be
collected through a Treasury Department program that withholds payment from
tax refunds, wages, and government benefits. A six year old
is safe after being towed inside a car in Arlington Saturday.
Police thankfully located the vehicle at a towing company and

(16:10):
reunited the child with his family. Three planes had to
delay landing at Reagan National Airport yesterday after a US
Park Police helicopter responded to a crash nearby. Official say
all the procedures were followed and that the flights landed safely.
The real ID deadline is this Wednesday if you don't

(16:33):
have it now. Real IDs are a requirement for domestic flights,
also to get into certain federal facilities and nuclear power plants.
And according to a recent survey, Americans received more in
their tax refunds than they expected. Sixty four percent have
already spent their tax money, and all respondents said that

(16:54):
their refunds are going to be spent on necessities like rent,
groceries and paying down their credit card debt. Forecast today,
Cloudy' skuys with chance of showers and thunderstorms all day
seventy to the high right now sixty three in rest in.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
Don't forget to tell your friends.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
You get your news top stories the top of the
hour with Toby and Chilly in the morning.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
It's ninety seven point one.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
Washuf, fam, hang out for a few minutes because we're
going to talk about our pets. Maybe your pets helped
you through a really rough time?

Speaker 3 (17:24):
What happened?

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Tell us your story at eight six, six, nine two,
seven forty three sixty one. Tap the talkback microphone. If
you're signed in, that works too. All you have to
do is tap that mike, send us your voice note
and we'll get it here in the studio. But let
us know how did your pet help you through a
rough time? Always love hearing your stories. We will coming
up in just a few seven twenty three at ninety

(17:48):
seven point one, wash up, Ben Toby at Chilly in
the morning.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Do you have a pet in your life?

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Has your fur baby or whatever helped you through a
really rough time? I say what up because I'm aware
that more than just dog and cat. Dogs and cats
are pets. But apparently three and five Americans say chili
that a pet has saved their life.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
That is a very powerful statement and not that surprising
when you think of how they provide emotional support to
so many people unofficially right, emotional support. You and I
are both dog people, and we've I've only had dogs
as a primary pet, and I will tell you that
when my mother before she passed away, the dog became

(18:33):
her constant companion and she would often say the dog
gave her reason to get out of bed every day.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
And that's huge.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
You know, when they're there for you and they don't
leave your side, that's great support.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
The numbers eight sixty six, nine two, seven, forty three
sixty one. If you had a pet helped you through
a rough time, what's your story? You can also tap
the talk back microphone and tell us if you want to.
You just have to be signed into your iHeart app.
That's what Nova Luna did for me with Clover. When
Clover passed, I didn't realize how tough clover passing was

(19:08):
going to hit me. But having a new little fur
baby in my life helped me to be not distracted,
but it helped me to take my mind off of it.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Yeah, it's not a bad distraction. It's a good distraction.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
It's another way to focus all you the love that
you want to give to your little fur child for
and they consense. I really do believe. Oh yes, regardless
if it's a parrot or a cat or whatever, I
think a lot of pets can sense when you're feeling down,
when you really need a little nudge or a snuggle

(19:42):
or a cuddle.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
It's interesting you say that because yesterday my significant other
ran that half marathon that was in DC yesterday and
she was in pain after running thirteen months. I could
tell that the Golden Retriever of hers that comes over.
His name is Kona, and that dog just senses things,

(20:03):
and like he was just right there.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
He was just he just stayed close by. He did.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
You know, he's you know, he's a younger golden So
he was playful to a degree, but not so playful.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
You could just see it. It was just an amazing thing.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
So to your point about pet's there, Chiliam, I'm just
telling you, so, how's.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
A pet helped you?

Speaker 2 (20:24):
You know the number? Give us a call, tell us
your story. We love hearing them. And speaking of stories,
coming up in just a few minutes, another one of
your crazy first Oh, I'm sorry, my bad, make your
Monday story. This one is actually really a great story.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
It's out of Hagar's Town and a woman who's known
as Mama D is feeding her neighbors and friends one
wonderful meal at a time.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Mama Des stay there for more and we're going to
Hagar'stown for a story that we helped Makes your Monday.
Toby and Chili in the Morning on ninety seven point
one was CHEFM. You might hear about Mama D Dedri Norris,
a cornerstone of compassion in Hagarstown.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
Since twenty twelve, she's really dedicated herself to feeding and
uplifting the community through a nonprofit she started called It's
a Blessing to Be a Blessing.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
It started with mobile food deliveries and home based support
right but it's evolved since then into this full scale
operation housed in Saint John's Lutheran Church's Education building, and
there Mama D and her team they provide hot meals,
essentials for the homeless and those in need.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
Mama D's giving all began with a simple act of
kindness when she helped feed someone and in that moment,
it sort of ignited this mission in her life to
serve the underserved.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
That's right, Chili, Like during the COVID nineteen pandemic, she
offered food outside of her home daily bagged lunches supplies
to anyone who needed them, like Leanne Santiago.

Speaker 6 (21:57):
Yeah, there's a lot of us that just need a
little bit of hugs and love to get you through
to the next step.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
A lot of the community. I know because I was there.

Speaker 6 (22:05):
It's a blessing fed me and kept me and because
of that, I now have a full time job.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
And Leanne is one of many people, of course, that
Mama D has helped. Despite her personal health challenges like
fibermyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis, Mama D.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Is still a tireless force for.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
The good and we thought that Mama D's story might
just make your Monday.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
It could read more about it on the Toby and
Chili page at waschefm dot com.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Now stay there because we've got the news coming up.

they would like to break up with their partner, but
they're stuck and can't afford to leave. Forty six percent
admit they'd be more likely to call it off if

(24:12):
it wouldn't have any financial impact on them. Forecast today,
some clouds, but there is a strong chance of shower
or thunderstorms later. Seventy two to the high right now

Speaker 5 (25:26):
When I was little, my cat was my best friend.
Anytime I was sad or feeling down, he was there
to struggle with me and help me feel better. I
remember when my grandpa passed away and he was there
to give me company.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
Oh he was your emotional support cat before that was
even a thing. Okay, Okay, Leslie and Arlington.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
My dog helped me through a really tough patch after
I lost my job.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
Of just having him there wagging his tail like.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
The world hadn't ended reminded me to keep going and
not get stuck in my head.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
Thank you for sharing that, Leslie.

Speaker 4 (25:58):
You know, I have a feeling a lot of people
who got riffed or probably leaning on their pets for
support right about now.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Too, unless, of course, the pets name is Doge. No
it's dog no E.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
