Speaker 2 (00:05):
Welcome to Tuesday, May thirteenth, It's Toby and Chilly in
the Morning. On ninety seven point one washe FM. I'm Chiliamar.
Toby Nap is out, but producer Taylor Shay is here,
and I want to thank all of you for starting
your day with us. And as we like to do
every morning, we want to ask what's making you feel
good this morning? Feel free to share eight sixty six

(00:27):
nine two seven four three six one, and I'll start
with you, Taylor Chilli. Look at this coffee. It is
made perfect. Okay, So what makes that coffee perfect? Because
you get fancy stuff.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
So I stopped by Starbucks, the Quin's Orchard Starbucks, I
think that's what they call it. It's at one twenty
four and two seventy. It's right there. I stopped there
pretty much every morning. Sam is the best barista, and
so there was somebody else there today. So she had
the day off and I was like, oh, all right,
I'm sure it'll be fine.

Speaker 5 (00:55):
Oh so good, it's perfect. The new girl got it right.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
So oh so it's brewed just the way I like it.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
My lavender cold foam is perfect lavender. Yeah, it's delicious.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Is that what keeps you calm through the show? The lavender?

Speaker 5 (01:08):
Maybe it is? Maybe?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
All right?

Speaker 5 (01:10):
What about you? Why are you feeling good today?

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Even though it's raining out there and we are under
a floodwatch because of the rain. They don't do the
construction on the beltway.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
The construction you get stuck in at two thirty in
the morning.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
There are many days where I have been stuck, so
I knew that there was not going to be any
stoppages this morning, and I was like, whoao Now. There
was also no accidents because then when it rains, there
could be an accident and delays because of that. But
no smooth sailing through the rain into work this morning.
And that's why we're feeling great this morning. Like we said,
you can always share what you making you feel good,

(01:46):
either by calling us or by leaving a message to
us on the talkback feature on your free iHeartRadio app.
There's a little microphone there so you can record a
message and we'll get it right here. Coming up in
just a few minutes. We are going to let you
know all the things that are going on in the
headlines in Toby and Chile's Top Stories, including Metro officials

(02:08):
saying that better bus service is on the way for
the DMB. We've got the details on ninety seven point
one wash FM.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Top Stories presented by Celsius Energy Drinks will President Trump
kicks off his four day trip to the Middle East
this morning in Saudi Arabia. The trip is focused on
making economic deals throughout the region. Over two hundred twenty
five firefighters. Firefighters battled a seven alarm warehouse fire in
West Baltimore yesterday evening near the train tracks, which disrupted

(02:47):
Amtrak service. The Red Cross is helping displace residents. Thankfully,
nobody was hurt, but the cause is unknown. DC officials
say they're making progress and reducing homelessness, pointing to new
data showing a new nearly three percent drops since last year.
The city credits increased housing placements and support services, although

(03:07):
advocates say more work is needed to address root causes
and long term solutions. Metro officials say better bus services
on the way through the Better Bus Initiative, which includes
redesigned routes, more frequent service, and improved reliability. While they
admit it's not perfect, the plan aims to better connect

(03:28):
communities and reflect how people travel across the DC area.
NBC is going to be broadcasting a live musical TV
special which will feature Wicked stars Cynthia Arrivo and Ariana
Grande singing songs from the film. The event's going to
precede the release of the sequel, Wicked for Good on

(03:51):
November twenty first. According to a new survey, more than
sixty percent of gen Z and millennial workers are using
drugs or alcohol every week, some even every day to
cope with the stress of their jobs. Millennials are reportedly
spending about three hundred dollars a month on booze and
other substances. Forecast for today the DC area, we are

(04:15):
under a flood watch. It's gonna be rainy pretty much
all day. Highs around sixty seven coming up next. If
all this rain is getting you down, well, we're gonna
try to catch you into a better head space with
our morning mindset quote and we'll share that with you
as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety
seven point one WASHUF ninety seven point one WASHUF M,

(04:36):
It's Toby and Chilly in the morning. I'm Chilliyamar. Toby
Napp is out today, but we still have a quote
to get you into a great morning mindset, as we
do every morning around this time. Today's quote is by
Sam Levinson. He says, don't watch the clock, do what
it does, keep going. You know, it's easy to get

(04:57):
distracted by the ticking clock, especially when you're feeling over
or you're behind, but the clock doesn't stop, stress out
or look back. It just keeps moving forward, one second
at a time. And the message here is to adopt
that same mindset. You know, stay steady, be present, continue
to make progress without letting time pressure or paralyze you.
Especially on a Tuesday, you know, when the buzz of

(05:19):
Monday is over, but the weekend still feels so far away.
This quote encourages us us all to keep our heads down,
focus on what's in front of us, and trust that
the momentum will carry us through the rest of the week.
So Sam Levinson says, don't watch the clock, do what
it does. Keep going. Now, if you've got a quote

(05:39):
that inspires you, we would love to hear it or
know it, so feel free to share it with us
on the Toby and Chili page at washfm dot com.
Coming up next, you can get a better night's sleep,
apparently just by wearing this. Now I'll share what it
is and whether it's actually working for me as Toby

(05:59):
and in the Morning continues on ninety seven point one WASHEFM.
Are you struggling to sleep or stay asleep? Then you
need to listen to this. It's Toby and Chilly in
the Morning on ninety seven point one wash FM. I'm
Chilli Amar, Toby Nap is out. Producer Taylor Shay is
here with me. Listen. We know that sleep issues are
a huge problem in the US, and especially if you're

(06:22):
listening this early in the morning. Yeah, maybe an issue
for you. Apparently what we all need to do is
start wearing socks to bed if you don't already. Experts
say that warm feet can improve circulation and help you
fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly. Now, before I
go any further, Taylor, do you wear socks to bed?

Speaker 5 (06:44):
Ew? Absolutely not.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
No. I sleep with an electric blanket though, so but
not sod No. It just I don't know if it's
a sensory thing. It just feels suffocating.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yes, that's the word I would use, suffocating, which is
why I've never even considered wearing socks to bed. My husband,
on the other hand, since the day we've met, loves
to sleep with the socks on and literally will not
cannot sleep without his socks on. And I have given
him so much grief over the last fifteen some years.

(07:16):
And now I've got to eat my words, because when
I saw this article last week, and when you get
desperate like we do with our quality of sleep suffering,
that we try any little hack we can. And I
begrudgingly started to wear these ankle socks to bed. You know,
the last three nights, how'd it go? It's going well?
Oh no, But I'm not telling my husband don why

(07:38):
I'm already in bed, because like I said, he's gonna oh,
who's word socks to bed? Now? Chill, He's gotta eat
crow now, I really do. But yeah, before you make
fun of it, give it a try. My son, by
the way, my eleven year old, also loves to wear
socks to bed. Oh interesting, he can't. I mean, he's

(08:00):
not a great sleeper anyway, but it's a sensory thing
for him too. He likes the feelings. So yeah, let
that be a learn something today. Try it. Don't knock
it till you try it. I clearly knocked it for
many many years before I try it. Get those socks
out that coming up next. We're gonna get you up
to speed on all the news headlines with Toby and

(08:22):
Chile's Top stories on ninety seven point one wash FF.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
The twenty one year old American hostage freed by Himas
is back with family after nearly six hundred days in captivity.
There's new video of Edon Alexander's mother being the first

defended plans to accept a luxury jet from Cutter, calling
it a great gesture and a contribution. The Boeing seven

(08:52):
forty seven, from Cutter's royal family is expected to become
the new Air Force one. Fairfax County teachers are selling
operating a long awaited raise, but they're frustrated by the
budget cuts needed to fund it. While the six percent
salary increase is seen as a win, educators worry that
reductions to classroom resources and support staff could hurt students

(09:15):
in the long run. DC Attorney General Brian Schwab is
suing Kenneth Brewers Senior, who's a former head and affordable

The funds were reportedly diverted to a for profit group
to pay Brewers large bonuses. The Washington Wizards are gonna

(09:37):

missing out on the top spot despite having some of
the best lottery odds. Charlotte and Utah also fell, landing
fourth and fifth. According to the Social Security Administration, Olivia
and Liam are the top girl and boy names for
the sixth year in a row. Meanwhile, the report also

(10:00):
highlights the names that are rising the fastest in popularity,
including a Lady for girls and Truce for boys. Forecast
for today, the DC area is under a flood watch
through six o'clock tomorrow morning. Otherwise today rain throughout the day.
His around sixty seven currently sixty four degrees in Chantilly.

(10:22):
Coming up next. You know, plastic surgery is expensive and
of course comes with risks, But what if you could
get a little booty lift without the surgery. Producer Taylor
Shay is going to share something that she recently discovered
to make her jeans fit better, and she's gonna tell
us all about it. As Toby and Chilly in the
Morning continues on ninety seven point one wash FM, imagine

(10:44):
getting a Brazilian butt lift for the fraction of the cost.
It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven
point one WASHFM. I'm Chiliamar. Toby Knapp is out, but
producer Taylor Shay is here.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Enow.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
If you don't even know what a Brazilian butt lift is,
it's basically exactly how it sounds, a little booty action
in the back if you don't have enough junk in
the trunk, right, So tell me what you found online.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
So I went on Amazon and I just searched fake butt.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
That's really really but okay.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
Yeah, So I had nothing to begin with back there.
It's like in my family, DNA, we just don't have
booties and pancake butt, gotcha. And I recently lost sixty
pounds not all intentional, and just now there's really really
nothing there. So I was like, I want to get
a fake butt, but I don't want a resilient butt lift.

(11:35):
I just need something that holds my pants.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Up, okay, and you found what I found.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
They're like underwear shorts kind of that have pads in
the back of them, and they're chilling.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
This is not expensive either.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Okay, So how much are we talking about?

Speaker 5 (11:51):
You can find them for less than twenty bucks.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Cheaper than surgery. Okay. So then you get these padded
underwear and you've tried them on, I'm guessing yes, And
do they like you? Hope? They look like you have
a little booty back.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
There in jeans, Yes, in yoga pants. You're like, what
is That's not normal?

Speaker 2 (12:07):
So it looks like it's fake. Yeah, yoga Hey.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
But jeans in jeans, it's great.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Look, I'm not against that. That's great. But here's the thing.
We're both married. Your partner knows you've got the fake
booty underwear. Imagine if we're single. There's no way I
would ever be brave enough to wear padded underwear because
if we were to ever get into it and be like,
excuse me as I excuse myself because if you see
my padded butt, we may never see each other again.

(12:36):
That would be horrible.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Keoby and Chilly's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Today's question Teachers say this happens ten times more often
on a Monday with students than any other day of

Toby and Chilli's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
The question is Teachers say this happens ten times more
often on a Monday than any other day of the week.
What is it? Let's go over here to Crystal in Greensboro.
Good morning, Crystal, how are you?

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Good morning? I'm great.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
How are you guys doing?

Speaker 2 (13:50):
We're doing great. So you've got the question, what do
you think.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
The answer is I think they forget their lunch a.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Haha on a Monday. Do you have kids and has
that ever had happened?

Speaker 3 (14:00):
I do, minor grown, but it has happened. But I'm
also a teacher, so I get it.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Oh, yes, that's true, and they get a chance to
make that mistake a couple of times. Otherwise they learn
their lesson by going hungry.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
That is an excellent guess. It's also the correct answer, Crystal.
You're gonna go see Chris Kirkpatrick of n SYNC, O Town,
BB Mac, Ryan Cabrera and LFO with the Pop two
thousand tour at the Fillmore.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Okay, cool, that's really exciting.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Well, congratulations, We're gonna have another pair of tickets tomorrow
with another nearly impossible question with Toby and Chilly in
the Morning on ninety seven point one Wash FM.

life balance. For cast for today, we are all under
a flood watch through six o'clock tomorrow morning. It'll be
a rainy day with highs in the upper sixties right

(16:34):
now sixty four degrees in Ashburn. Coming up next. You know,
there is a growing trend among women who are taking
solo trips. We're going to discuss how realistic it is
to take a vacation, whether it's by yourself or even
with just some girlfriends, as Toby and Chilly in the
Morning continues on ninety seven point one wash FF, when

(16:55):
was the last time you took a solo trip or
even a trip with your friends. It's Toby and Chilly
in the Morning at ninety seven point one wash FM.
I'm Chilli Amar, Toby Knapp is out, Producer Taylor Shay
is here. But if you want to jump into the
conversation at any point eight six, six, nine, two, seven,
four to three six one is the number to call.

(17:16):
I'm asking because there's a growing trend among women who
are embracing solo travel for the freedom, the confidence and
self discovery that comes with it. And I've done the
solo travel thing, and I've also done the girls trip thing,
and I prefer getting together with girlfriends who I haven't
seen in a minute over traveling by myself. What about you, Taylor, So.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
I've only been on one solo trip and I've never
been on a girl's trip.

Speaker 5 (17:41):
What I know, isn't that sad?

Speaker 2 (17:44):
I don't? Kind of to me, it seems so what
are even when you before kids? Right, Like, you just
didn't do the girls.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Trip thing now because I've I've moved a lot, yeah,
and so all of my really close friends don't have
never lived in the same city as me, So it's
kind of hard to coordinate.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Right and even now, Like what's keeping you from doing
it now? Like just to reach out and say, hey,
let's meet up in Miami for the weekend or something.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
Well, travel is a little expensive right now. I mean
it adds up with your flight, your hotel, your food,
your events and stuff.

Speaker 5 (18:16):
So that's part of it.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
And the other part of it is what you don't
want to leave the kids behind a little bit. Yeah,
I started traveling with a girlfriend about three years ago.
It started over a Mother's Day weekend, and for the
last three years I've gone on a trip with a
friend every year for a quick weekend. Last year was
New York City, the year before a lake house, and
then Virginia Beach. But there is nothing in the calendar.

(18:43):
I'm just going to say, we're into May now, no,
and it's bombing me out that there's nothing in the calendar.
Part of that is we just can't coordinate a weekend
that we're both free and available. So that's our excuse.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
Well, why don't you do a solo trip?

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Well, somebody's got to be the planner, and I'm quite
honestly a little too tired to be that person. So
what makes it hard for you to plan a trip
with friends? What's getting in the way for you? Eight
sixty six nine two seven four three six one is
the number. We'd love to hear your why, and we'll
get to that in just a few minutes. But coming

(19:16):
up next, we've got another one of your crazy first
date stories. Raina in Waldorf. She was expecting dinner and
a good conversation, but her date took a turn no
one saw coming. Let's just say it's stunk, literally and figuratively,
and you'll get to hear it next. As Toby and
Chilly in the morning continues on ninety seven point one

(19:38):
Wash FM. It's Toby and Chilly's Crazy First Dates in Waldorf.

Speaker 6 (19:43):
Good morning, Raina. How are you welcome? Chilly and I
are listening. Tell us all about this crazy first date
that you went on.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
It was a bond date. I was set upon by
a coworker and we talked on the phone a couple
of times before green to go to dinner. We met up,
took a car to the restaurant. He was all the
things he want, attractive, nice, well dressed. As I got
in the car, I noticed a really foul smell. I
couldn't tell if a skunk had died in his backseat
or if he was treating his car as a trash
can on wheels. He tells him not to worry about
the smell, that it'd go away in a few minutes,

(20:12):
and he got out of the car, and so I'm
thinking this is kind of weird, and I guess he
recognized that it wasn't fact weird, so he blurts out
that he has an issue of flatulence. I didn't really
just didn't know what he meant. But as we kept
going and smells kept coming back, he framed it as
he had an issue of continuously packing gas, and so
I just was kind of pushed myself to like, Okay,
I'm going to get through this. So we get to

(20:33):
the restaurant and his flatterless kicks in the high gear. So,
needless to say, I cut the evening short to go
over back to my car. So that was my crazy
first date experience.

Speaker 6 (20:43):
Did he have the funk of forty years the entire time?

Speaker 3 (20:47):
The funk of one hundred thousand years?

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Raina, You said a coworker of yours set you up
with this guy. Did that person not know about the
dude's flatulence problem?

Speaker 3 (20:58):
Well, let's just say they knew after the date for sure.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
I mean, I really want to feel bad for the guy.
You know, it's not his fault, he's got a condition,
but still that's hard to live with. He's got a condition.
All right, We're sorry you had to deal with that.
Hopefully you went on to find somebody less so differous
in life.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
Absolutely did. I have a wonderful husband now, And it's
giving me lots to laugh over the years when I've
stopped back to this first.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Date because you shared it with us, Reina, we love
to send you and your husband to go see Earth
Wind and Fire MGM National Harbor December twelfth, thanks to
Live Nation.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
Oh my gosh, that is fantastic. I'm so excited. I
never went anything. Thank you so much.

Speaker 6 (21:40):
By the way, we're told that things smell great at
MGM National Harbor.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
I'll let you know, And if you've got a crazy
first DAID story, we'd love to hear it right now.
Call eight sixty six nine two seven four three six

the moment drew over a million views, officials warned the

been banned since nineteen seventy one. Metro will kick off
its Better Bus initiative on June twenty ninth. The transit
system will eliminate over five hundred bus stops, focusing on
areas where the stops are close together or where ridership
is low. Metro will also be renaming some bus routes

(23:21):
and putting up new bus stop signs that use a larger,
easier to read font. According to a recent survey, six
in ten parents reject their parents' rule book. Forty one
percent said that their mom and dad didn't focus on

want to jump into the conversation. There's a growing number
of women who are just taking trips by themselves instead.
We'll get to your calls next. As Toby and Chilly
in the Morning continues on ninety seven point one, WASHEFM.
You and your friends have been talking about it forever,
taking a trip twogether. But how hard is it to

plan a trip with friends? Eight six six nine two
seven four to three six one is the number. It's
Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point
one was CHEFM. Toby Nap is out. I am Chiliamar
and we're talking about this because more and more women
are doing solo traveling, not just for self discovery and
building confidence, but they're finding out it's really hard to

(24:52):
plan a trip with your friends. But apparently this isn't
just an issue for women. Ben, you are a part
of the show in Rockville. Tell us why you have
a hard time planning a trip with friends. Oh, it's impossible,
like no one can ever agree on a date that
works because of their kids.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
I wish everyone would just get on the same page.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
It would make life so much easier. It certainly would. Ben,
Thanks so much for sharing that with us. Sometimes it's
easier when you plan a trip during the breaks that
kids have in school, as long as they have them
at the same time in Oakton Claire. What would you
like to add.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
It's like hurting cats who with commitment issues.

Speaker 4 (25:34):
