you feeling good this early morning? Right around five o'clock?
Speaker 2 (00:34):
I don't just feel good. I feel like a teenager.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
And this is why my car is in the shop ooh,
because the AC.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Does not work.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
So I had to borrow my mommy's car.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Mom, can I borrow the car? I'll bring it back
by noon, but it's got AC and I was able
to catch a ride.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
And yeah, I do feel like a teenager having to
ask mom can I borrow your car?
Speaker 3 (00:58):
That's funny, that's awesome. I'm Taylor Shay. Why are you
feeling good?
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Today? Before five?
Speaker 3 (01:02):
A friend of.
Speaker 5 (01:03):
Mine works in radio in Atlanta, and so we are
up very early in the morning. I'm usually hitting two
seventy about three o'clock, and he.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Called me this morning.
Speaker 5 (01:12):
We talked all the way to work, and it's not
often you have a friend also up at that odd hour,
just you know, he's he's also a mentor and has
been my whole career. So we talked about the business
and you know, just being you know, just catching up
this morning because.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
You're the only people up that early in the morning.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
I feel you you know, speaking of being up early
in the morning today, I feel good because I actually
got myself up this early morning normally as opposed to
I mean, that's called adulting. But since my daughter's been home,
the college graduate that she is, she's been kind of,
you know, getting her next steps together. Okay, that's an excuse.
That's that's not true. I'm making it sound more drabramatic
(01:52):
than it is. She's staying up all night talking to
friends and playing games. But normally she'll come in and
get me up, and and she did, like at two
o'clock in the morning. She did not have to do
that today, nor did she I think she's asleep I hope,
but you know what, it's little winds getting up without
the help of your kid who just graduated college.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
To start your day.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Find the reason, find a reason to feel good this morning,
every day when you get up, it's a good thing.

study has found that it's not about how much money
you make, it's how you manage it that really boosts
your mood. The study revealed that people who regularly save
(04:08):
and pay off their credit cards on time score higher
on mental health tests regardless of their income level. Basically,
budgeting might not sell on glamorous, but it's self care
and disguise because it takes away the constant worry and
stress that financial strains cause. Cloudy today and cool with
a high sixty nine right now, we are at sixty

Speaker 2 (05:09):
This is your morning mindset.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
And the struggle is real right now. So we need
some positive words to start the.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Day, all right, Camilla Iren Kimball, I hope I said
that right, Camilla Irn Kimball says, you don't.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Find the happy life. You make it.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Camilla Iren Kimball, you don't find the happy life you
make it. You see, happiness is something that you create.
It's not something you stumble into. I'm not saying that
those stumbles don't happen, but if you want the happy life,
what are you willing to do to create that happiness today?
(05:45):
Keep that in mind as you go through your Monday.
That is your morning mindset. If you need it again,
you'll find it to Toby and Chili page waschfm dot com.
It's there on the podcast, or reach out to KT
myself producer Taylor Shay and let us know that you
need to read it again and we'll send it to
you so you can share it with somebody in your
life who might need it, or maybe you might need
(06:05):
it later on today. Regardless, we're here for you with
Toby and Chilly in the morning. At ninety seven point
one wash FM coming up, what activity do you actually
enjoy doing with your kids? Kelly Rippa slammed her own
talk show. They were doing a segment on fun kid activities.
She says, the activities are never that fun, but is
(06:28):
there something that you actually enjoy doing with your kids?
Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one
is the number of talkbacks wide open two you can
jump in. Make sure you're signed into your iHeart app
tap that microphone and tell us what that activity is.
What do you enjoy doing with your kids? And we'll
get into this coming up as Toby and Chilly in
the Morning continues on them on days got Kids. We
(06:49):
all have kids in this room. It's Toby and Chilly
in the Morning on ninety seven point one. WASHFM our
producer Taylor Shay is with us along with Kat Harris,
who is playing the part at Chiliamar today. Question that
I have, ladies is what activity do you actually enjoy
doing with your kids? Kelly Rippa like slammed her own
talk show recently. She said the activities are never that
(07:11):
fun because they were doing a segment about fun kid activities.
So let me ask you, are there activities you actually
enjoy doing with your kids or are the activities never
that fun?
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Taylor Shay will start with you. I actually love making
cards with my son.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
It was something I did before my kids were born,
and I have tons of card making craft.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Supplies and I brought them out a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
He now makes cards for somebody every single day and
it's so fun.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Kids are really honest when they make their cards, like
they'll be thanking you for the darnedest things. You're like, oh,
we better not let mister so much tell or miss
so and so. See that eight six six seven forty
three sixty one is the number of talkbacks open too
if you want to join us, Kat, something you enjoy
doing with the kids or maybe, in your case, your granddaughter.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
Yeah, actually this was yesterday, granddaughter in the car. Long drives.
Long drives to me are the best time to spend
with your child. I mean, throughout the entire trip, kept
trying to get me. She goes, oh lah, look under there, and.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
I'm like, underwear, how eat that I'm doing it?
Speaker 3 (08:11):
I look at you crack and the jokes. I love
the mouths of babes. I used to love picking Kla
up and going to get like pink mary yogurt. That
was something we did when she was like, really really young.
Now it's can you go to the grocery store and
get the following here's a list, Michael, listening to us
this morning in Fairfax. Is there something you enjoy doing
(08:31):
with the kids.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
I actually like taking them to the park. They get
to run around and tire themselves out while I just
sit there and enjoy the sunshine and talk it up
with some of the other parents. I agree that could
be true.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
But if you're the active parent that has to play
with the kids, not so much.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
Candice, good morning, Thank you for listening to us in Rockville.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
I weirdly love going grocery shopping with them.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
It turns into this little adventure with Yeah, it's chaotic,
but it's kind of our thing.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Absolutely not. She's like hard past Katie.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Well, you know, I mean, when I take my granddaughter
to the grocery store, it could be a nightmare because
she wants to put everything in the cart, and then
when you go to pay for it, you're like, I
am spending entirely too much money.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
I mean that adds up.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
If there's something you actually enjoyed doing with your kids,
tell us all about it. Tap that talk bag microphone
and give us a call. It's ninety seven point one
wash FM, where the news is on the way, Top
stories at the top of the hour, stay right there
in good Borning.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
The man accused and the killing of a Minnesota state
lawmaker is now in custody.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Vance Walter was arrested on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
He's accused of murdering Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband,
and also of shooting and injuring Democratic Senator John Hoffman
and his wife. Both survivors were hospitalized. A large scale
celebration in the nation's capital ended without any arrest. DC
police say that no one was taken into custody during
Saturdays two hundred and fiftieth anniversary celebration of the US Army.
(10:03):
Health officials in the DC region are warning the public
about a measles exposure linked to an international traveler. The
individual landed at Dallas International Airport on June eighth and
visited multiple locations across the area. The DC Health Department
has posted an exposure list on its website. Westland Middle
(10:25):
School and Motgomery County will be closed today due to
damage from a down tree. Montgomery County Public Schools say
the tree struck part of the building during weekend storm
and caused structural damage. And here's something you might have guessed.
A new study finds that Americans curse online more than
(10:46):
anyone else in the English speaking world. Researchers say about
one in every twenty eight hundred words typed by US
users is a swear word more than users. In Britain
and Australia. Blog posts had the highest profanity rates and
anemity played a big role in people knew being very
(11:09):
loose with their language. Cloudy and cool today with a
high sixty nine. Currently we are at sixty four in
LAKERID and that is.

Mar Kat Harris.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Today on this day after Father's Day, Yes Day, after
Father's Day.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
It was that kind of weird for me because it's
been the first Father's Day since I lost my papa.
But I got a great chance to spend with my
granddaughter and my son and that just met the world.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Toby, how was your Father's Day relaxing?
Speaker 3 (12:11):
I was happy on Father's Day because my dad actually
got these Astros shirts, oh number one Dad, because he
loves the Astros, and they made it on time, actually early,
which doesn't normally happen for me now for me personally
with my daughter, it was just kind of relaxing. Didn't
really do much of anything but rest and watch Avengers
(12:32):
movies on TV. And it was okay because I was
feeling like just exhausted. Taylor's Shay, you have this smile
on your face. What did you do for the father
in your life otherwise known as your husband, the Great
Darren Marshall.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
I ruined Father's Day, you guys?
Speaker 6 (12:49):
What?
Speaker 5 (12:50):
So? You know, when you get your nails done, you
schedule your next appointment, right, And I did that and
I did not realize I had scheduled it on Father's Day.
So on Saturday, I went, oh no, and I have
nowhere else to put it that appointment and he knew that,
and he goes, just go and I do dips. So
it's a three hour appointment. Wow, he said it was fine.
(13:11):
I mostly believe him.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Well, if he said it was fine, that's fine. He
got to spend time with his sons. I mean, that's
what's what's wrong with that on Father's Day.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
Let me just interject, if Darren did this to you
on Mother's Day, would you be so understanding?
Speaker 2 (13:27):
No, I would be Hello, pot, color the kettle black.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
We hope you had a great Father's Day, however you
chose to spend it.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Toby and Chilli's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
All right, Katy Harris playing the part of Chiliamar, what
is our question today?
Speaker 4 (13:43):
On average, it costs women seventeen hundred dollars to participate
in this or a friend or family member.
Speaker 2 (13:50):

Speaker 4 (14:01):
On average, it costs women seventeen hundred dollars to participate
in this for a friend or family what is it?
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one
is the number if you want to see the Lumineers
at NAT's Park in September.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Call now, get it right when you're nearly impossible question.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
From Monday is on and we're going to learn something
new because I have no idea what the answer is
to that question coming.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Up, Toby and Chilli's nearly impossible.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Question, kat drop the question on us one more time. Please.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
On average, it costs women seventeen hundred dollars to participate
in this.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
For a friend or family member, what is it?
Speaker 3 (14:37):
Lumineers tickets Nationals Park in September up for grabs to Laurel.
It's Keith, Keith. Good morning, it's been a minute. How

this morning?
Speaker 2 (14:59):
I think it could be participating in a wedding as
as a bridesmaid.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Why do you think it's that expensive? Have you ever
been a bridesmaid?
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Oh? Every other Saturday maybe they're just kidding. Oh, pretty good,
dropping the market there, that's all.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Yeah, that is expensive. Why is it that expensive, kat
to be a bridesmaid?
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Well, you gotta get your hair. Did you gotta get
your nails?
Speaker 4 (15:20):
Did you gotta get the dress, you gotta get the
free dress, you gotta get the makeup done, you got
to get the hair.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
It's just it's a lot.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
This is why I didn't go to a wedding with
my significant other on Friday. She was one of the bridesmaids,
like mad made of a bridesmaid of honor braid. Well,
I don't even know how it all works because I've
never been married, but I just sounded like a lot
of work to me. Yes it does, Keith, that's the answer.
Good morning. Apparently it's very expensive. Seventeen hundred dollars to
be a bridesmaid?
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Who knew? Very good?
Speaker 6 (15:49):
Thank you?
Speaker 2 (15:50):
All right, Now you're.

got more tickets tomorrow morning. With another round of your
nearly impossible question, if you want to see the lumineers
be here around six point twenty to play and win.

Top stories at the top of the hour, on the
way in minutes, don't go anywhere.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Top stories Top of the Hour.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Tensions are escalating in the Middle East Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanya, who is defending his country's latest strike on Iran,
saying Israel will do whatever it takes to stop what
he calls a growing nuclear threat. Chicago White Sox fans
received a Holy shout out over the weekend. Pope Leo
the fourteenth, the newly elected Pope and a Chicago native
(16:37):
that are thousands. In a livestream message Saturday, he preached
peace and unity as fans celebrated his historic election, the
first Pope from the Windy City policea Montgomery County are
investigating the death of a man found inside of a
Rockville apartment. Officers conducted at welfare check on Saturday morning
at the six hundred block of Blandford Street and discovered
(16:57):
the man died from a gunshot wound, and autopsy has
been ordered to confirm his identity. It's a big week
for the US economy. The federal reserve is expected hold
interest rates study, but all eyes are on the official
decision later this week on Tuesday, watch for new numbers
on retail sales and homebuilder's confidence, which could offer more
(17:19):
insight to where the economy is heading. And finally, here
is one for the conspiracy theory crowd. Just before Israel's
surprise military strike on Iran last week, an ex account
user called Pentagon Pizza Report flagged a major spike in
late night pizza orders near the Pentagon. The last time
(17:39):
that happened nineteen ninety eight, just before Operation Desert Fox
cloudy and cool for our forecast with a high sixty nine.
Currently we are at sixty four in Camp Springs.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
Top stories at the top of the hour with ninety
seven point one. Watch FM Kat Harris, thank you for
the news this morning. Now, in case you missed it,
there was a parade over the weekend. It was kind
of a big deal, had traffic kind of free routed,
celebrating the army turning two hundred and fifty years old.
So it got us talking in here about parades. Why
(18:11):
do you think you deserve a parade? What is it
that you've done that makes you feel parade? Worthy that
we should shut down the traffic and start marching around
and doing our parade hooting any sort of a thing.
Give us a call and tell us what it is
that you deserve a parade for at eight six six
nineteen seven forty three sixty one, or tap the talk
back microphone. If you want to get involved. You have
(18:33):
to be signed into your heart appist taps he can
send if you're listening to us on the app right now,
it's really simple to do. Well, get to this coming up.
It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on this Monday,
So I take it there was a big parade this
weekend downtown Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It's ninety
seven point one.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Watch FM.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Taylor Say is in the studio, she's our producer, and
Katie Erris is playing the part of Chiliamar Ladies.
Speaker 6 (18:57):
There was a parade. Did anybody catch what the parade
was about? It was the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary
of the Army.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
That's right, it was the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary
of the Army and it was also Flag Day and
then somebody had a birthday. I heard that got me
thinking do you deserve a parade for something?
Speaker 2 (19:13):
And why? We'll start with you. Go ahead, Katie, I deserve.
Speaker 6 (19:16):
A parade for dealing with my mother. That's it enough said,
and we'll move right over here to producer Taylor Shade.
Why do you deserve a parade today?
Speaker 5 (19:25):
I had two babies one year apart during a pandemic
two under two, when you couldn't leave your house.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
You deserve a parade and a vacation.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
And I hope you got one heck of a push
gift just saying I don't deserve a parade, ladies, because
I haven't done laundry in two weeks. The house is
not clean. I don't know when that's gonna happen, but
you know what, someday, if it does, I'll probably ask
for a parade just to celebrate the fact that I
got something done.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
We'll invite you to our parades. Toby right on.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Toby and Tilly in the morning at ninety seven point
one Wash FM. So why do you deserve a parade today?
Eight six six, nineteen seven forty three sixty one is
the number it could be for any reason at all.
Talkbacks Wide Open two. If you're listening, to us on
your iHeart app. Feel free to jump in Ed Rodriguez
in Tacoma Park. Why do you deserve a parade? Go ahead, Yeah,
I deserve.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
A parade for my ability to parallel park. I had
that down first driver's test. It never takes any more
than one shot. People say I'm an American hero for
being able to do that.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
That's Ed parallel parking genius, great American hero. And if
you deserve a parade, tell us why made six six, nine, two, seven,
forty three sixty one. Or tap the talkback microphone if
you're listening to ninety seven point one watch FM on
your iHeart app. Talkback MIC's always open for you, your
(20:44):
thoughts and your reasons why you deserve a parade?
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Coming up.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
But first, the story that we think might just make
your Monday. She overcame extraordinary challenges to shine at the
Upperville Horse Show. They said she might never walk or
talk again, and now well she's proving everybody wrong. Her
story is minutes away. You gotta Toby and Chili in
the morning, waking you up on ninety seven point one
(21:07):
watch CFM Welcome to a brand new week. Katy Harrison
for Chiliamar, and we go to Upperville for a story
that we think might just make your Monday. At the
Upperville Coulton Horse Show, the oldest by the way of
the nation, young Mackenzie Brown rode with grace and control,
and the crowd was unaware of the incredible journey that
brought her there.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
Now you would have never known that, as a young
woman she was born five weeks early, or that a
stroke as an infant led doctors to believe that she
would probably never walk or talk.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
But Mackenzie defied the odds. She not only learned to
walk and talk, she found her stride on horseback.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
She was bullied in elementary school and pretty much just
retreated into a shell until therapeutic horseback riding changed everything.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
She was twelve, she started lessons at Wheedland Farm in Virginia,
and her coach says, when she's around horses, Mackenzie is free,
finally able to just be who she is herself.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
This year, Mackenzie rode proudly and a US Para dressage
demonstration in Upperville.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
Now this is more than just ride.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
It was a triumph, a victory born of strength, resilience
and the healing bond between a girl and her horse.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
I found it, and I'm I've never been happier.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
And just like that, you've got something to make your Monday.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
It certainly made ours. And if you've got a story
that might make someone else's Monday, share it with us.
Toby and Chilipage at washfm dot com and stay right there.
We've got the news. Top stories at the top of
the hour. On the way in minutes is Toby and
Chilly in the morning.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Continue top stories top of the hour.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
The suspect in the killing of a Minnesota state lawmaker
and this serious wounding of another over the weekend is
now in police custody after a massive manhunt. Bants Wolter
