managed to grow everything I've attempted to grow. And on
top of that, I have gold frenches and all kinds
of other birds that have come through my balcony at
different times, traveling for their destinations. So it's been really beautiful, Lucy.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Both Toby and I are very impressed since we have

Lovitt said that includes a possible meaning between Putin and
Ukrainian President Zelenski and that could lead to President Trump
joining them. The Justice Department is investigating whether DC police
manipulated crime data to make rates appear lower. The probe

(09:18):
comes after questions were raised about Mayor Bowser's claim of
a twenty six percent drop in violent crime, a figure
that was disputed by the city's police union. President Trump

those talks may take place in Budapest. The US Marshall
Service is now offering a five hundred dollars reward for
tips leading to arrests in DC as part of its

(16:25):
public safety surge. Tips can be submitted through a QR
CO that is shared on social media or directly on
the agency's website. DC's unemployment rate hit six percent in July.
That is the highest in the country for the third
month in a row, driven by federal layoffs and a
drop in international tourism. Neighboring Maryland and Virginia reported much

(16:51):
lower unemployment rates, at three point four percent and three
point six percent, respectively. Hurricane Aaron is not expected to
to make landfall, but it's still causing dangerous waves and
rip currents along the East Coast. Several beaches near the
DC area, including Ocean City, Dewey, Rehoboth, and Bethany, have

(17:12):
all closed swimming to protect visitors. The Virginia Department of
Health warns of a possible measles exposure. This happened to
Dulles Airport August twelfth, between one and five PM affecting
the main terminal TSA checkpoint and concourse B so anyone
who is exposed should contact their healthcare provider. And a

(17:35):
new survey show's Americans are rethinking the financial side of
life milestones, with many wishing they had prepared earlier. So
on average, Americans think the ideal timeline is saving for
retirement twenty seven, buying a home by thirty, earning six

and retiring at fifty eight. Cloudy skies today, the forecast
a chance of showers this afternoon eighty two, the high

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Don't forget to tell you friends. You get top stories
at the top of the hour with Toby and Chili
in the morning. That's the news. And coming up, we
got some news for you. You know, before I disappeared, I
was talking about a knee sprain and how I had
gone to urgent care and they said, oh, it's an

(18:27):
east sprain and I got some little gimmick to wear
on my knee. Well it wasn't a knee strain, it
was something else, and what was it. I'll tell you
coming up in just a few Listen to your body, people,
listen to your body. Stay with Toby and Chilly in
the Morning for more. Oh, it wasn't a knee strain

(18:50):
Toby and Chilly in the Morning ninety seven point one
watch FM. Previously before I disappeared for weeks, I had
met that I was having some issues with my knee,
like pain, just just unbearable pain. Woke up from an
app with it, went to urgent care Chilly. They said, well,
it's probably just a sprain, and they gave me a

(19:11):
knee brace.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Then I didn't believe that, so I went to another
urgent care and they gave me another knee brace, and
they said, well it's probably just an eestrain, but you
should make an appointment with the orthopedist, which I did,
and so Monday I worked the show. You remember I
was limping around here feeling the pain. You were like, man,
you are in pain. I'm like, yes, I am in pain. Well,

(19:35):
that evening I had an appointment with the orthopedist. That
evening I was sent directly to the emergency room at
MedStar Georgetown, and that is where I stayed for the
next couple of weeks. Because that knee strain was an infection,
that's right.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
I remember you sent me a text message and I
think you said it was what septic arth? Right, it is,
And I'm like, that sounds scary.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
And serious, and it was very serious. And it was
a little bit scary because you know, you don't let
something like that go and treat it and if you do,
bad things can happen. So that night, in the middle
of the night, my surgical team removed most of the infected.
I guess whatever it is that gets infected in the

(20:24):
knee joint, they call it draining a joint. Well, they
drained the joint. I've been in pain since, but at
least it's getting better. The pain's not what it was.
Its great, and it takes time to heal. But you
know what, listen to your body. If you're feeling some
sort of way, it's your body telling you something's not right.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
So what's next then, Like, what do you have to
do for the healing process?

Speaker 2 (20:48):
This is something that I'm I'm not sure how I
feel about, but I have to go to physical therapy.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Well that's good, that's a good thing.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Is it going to be like I'm going to be
sweating and you.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
Know maybe, which is not a bad thing. I mean,
it's okay, insurance paying for your workout. That's not so bad.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
No, that's not so bad. And thank god for good
insurance taking care of this medical condition, because I'd never
heard of that. What did you call it? Septic Arthright,
I've never heard of that before. Yeah, but they had,
and they were like, you're not going home. Call whomever
you need to call. And by the way, you can't
eat after midnight because you're going into surgery. I was like,

(21:26):
what anyway, Toby at Chilly in the morning. It's ninety

The White House is reportedly considering Budapest for potential peace
talks between the US, Russia, and Ukraine, with the Secret
Service preparing for a possible summit hosted by President Trump
ally Victor Orbin plans though remain unconfirmed. The Justice Department
is investigating whether DC police manipulated crime data to make

(25:32):
rates appear lower. The probe comes after questions were raised
by Mayor Bowser's claim of a twenty six percent drop
in violent crime, which is a figure that was disputed
by the city's police union. The Trump administration planning an
ideological review of the Smithsonian Museums. President said, there is
nothing about brightness, and there's too much about how horrible

(25:55):
our country is and how bad slavery was. Five Northern
Virginia schools divisions that did not change their gender policies
for bathrooms and locker rooms have been placed on high
risk status by the US Department of Education. So loud
in Fairfax, Prince William, Arlington, and Alexandria schools will now
have to pay federal funds upfront and then submit for reimbursement,

(26:18):
which will face closer scrutiny. DC water customers are going
to be seeing some fees rise this fall, including returned
payment charges, meter inspections, and relocations. Those new charges will
also affect restaurants and construction inspections, and A new survey
finds that people start missing home just five days into

(26:39):
their vacation, with many longing for their own bed space
and routines, and more than half actually call themselves home bodies,
where nearly one in five have cut their trips. Short.
Forecasts for today cloudy skies, we do have a chance
of showers later. Highs around eighty two right now sixty

while I was in the hospital, something very healing and
something unexpected. I had no idea that this a natural
thing could work. The magic, the healthcare magic that it did.

Wash FM. Gather around class. Have you heard of this
Manuka honey chilling?

Speaker 3 (27:34):
Yes, I know what Manuka honey is.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Manuka honey is magical. They treated a wound that I
have and that I've had for the last couple of
years that I've been just dealing with it on and off.
It gets a little bit better than it gets worse,
and it's just stayed bad for a while. Well, in
the hospital, the wound team treated me with this Manuka

(27:56):
honey and I go honey from Bees and they're like,
that's right, it's medical grade honey. It's Manuka honey. Yeah,
and I'll be darned if this stuff is not healing
up quickly.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
Now you can buy Manuka honey in stores. It comes
from trees in New Zealand and it's known for its
anti big bacterial properties. So if you go to a store,
you just have to make sure that what they call
the UMF or the MgO number on that jar is
really high, because then it makes it stronger. But yeah,
for the last I guess five years, not only wounds,

(28:32):
but like cut scrapes, sore throat, cough. I've used it
for acne. Eggsama, you can use it for a lot
of things.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
You're telling me right now that for the last five years,
two of which you know I've had these issues with
this wound, that the magical Manuka honey from the magical
bees in New Zealand was an option for treatment.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
You could have tried it.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Yeah, I can't believe you didn't tell me this earlier.
