Speaker 4 (00:31):
Well, like many of us yesterday going into school more work.
My son had the Sunday scaries right on Monday. He
was like not wanting to go back after a nice
forty weekend for him, and I was pretty concerned that
he was going to have a rough transition back to school,

(00:52):
but alas he did not. Well, that's good, persevered, He
you know, was a to manage his fluctuating emotions and
regulate himself. So I'm very proud and I'm happy that
I didn't get a note, a note or a.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Phone call phone call, which is worse the note of
the phone call.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
The phone call is worse because that means that there
is something more emergent going on, like, Okay, your kid.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Is really one take away from an emergency. Come and
get your kid. Your kid is freaking out. Well that's good,
little Donato. Congratulations, you have a brand new day ahead
of you and you can do it.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
You can do it.

There you go?

Speaker 4 (01:42):

Speaker 5 (01:43):
Why are you really great? Today?

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Because I got home and Kyla is in her room
with her friend, I almost said his name whatever, Bobby
is his name, and they're cleaning oh, and I'm like, oh,
well I should say. Bobby was doing a lot of
the cleaning. And I noticed that, and I said to Kyla,

(02:06):
I go, you need to say thank you to Bobby
for cleaning your stuff up.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Love it.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Well, it wasn't all of it, though. It's not like
Kyla didn't do anything.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
But you know, having a guest do any cleaning is
pretty impressive.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
And I was like, yes, because it's something that Kyla
would not have done had that guest not been there.
So Bobby already earning his keep, already earning his keep,
paying the rents as it were. So I'm feeling good
about that this morning. You might be feeling good about
something today. We would love to hear about it. Tap

about success. He says, when if something is important enough,
you do it even if the odds are not in
your favor. Elon Musk, he says, when something is important enough,
you do it even if the odds aren't in your favor.
There will be times in life when things are not

(06:18):
in your favor. There will be times that the deck
is Let's be honest, stacked against you, but if it's
important enough, do it anyway. Elon Musk, thank you, Thank
you for listening to your morning mindset. Hopefully you can
take it and share it with somebody who might have
needed to hear it. Maybe that's someone with you. And

we had yesterday, Chilly.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
We were talking about how damaging it can be to
any relationship, friend or family if you borrow or lend money,
and oftentimes it ruins a relationship, especially when it doesn't
get paid back.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
And you've got thoughts on this, So let's get out
of the way and listen right now.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
Jordan, who lives in southeast d C. Go ahead. What happened.

Speaker 6 (07:52):
I borrowed money from my brother and it was a
big mistake. I couldn't pay him back in the timeframe
we set up, and he just stopped inviting me the things.
I guess that was like punishment or something. We got
into this big fight and we didn't talk to each.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
Other for all of the year.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
Are you on speaking terms now?

Speaker 3 (11:43):
I was blind sided. I love my daughter. I'm glad
she's home. She had gone down to Florida to visit
mom for like a month, and she came back. But
she came back with something I did not expect, someone
I did not expect. Tell you who and get your

(12:04):
thoughts on it. Coming up in just a few minutes.
With Toby and Chilly in the morning, It's ninety seven
point one Wash FM. Good morning, Chilly. I need you
to help me figure this one out. Toby and Chilly
in the morning, It's ninety seven point one wash FM.
I am happy, happy, happy happy. My daughter is home.
She went to see her mom for a month. I'm

(12:25):
glad she's back. She seems to have a nice friend.
Did I know that this nice friend was going to
be staying over?

Speaker 5 (12:33):
Yeah? About that?

Speaker 4 (12:35):
So just a quick recap. She's a college graduate, so
she is an adult at twenty one years old, and
she still lives with you.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
Right.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
Is this friend that she brought back with her a
guy or a girl? It's a guy, Okay? Does that matter?
Or are you just not okay with not knowing that
a guest was going to be coming.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
I would have rather known that this guest was coming,
and I asked my daughter about it. I actually said
it would have been nice to know, to which she said, well,
I told you, and I went and I looked back
through every text that we've had over the last month.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
No, of course not no. Okay, So what would you
have done differently, Toby? If she said, heads up, I'm
bringing a friend.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
That I'd have been cool with it, okay, But I
could have prepared better for it.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
What does that mean? Prepared better?

Speaker 3 (13:26):
That means, you know, get their favorite things, get their
favorite you know beverages. I would have better prepared the
apartment for another person, Yeah, a third person.

Speaker 5 (13:38):
You would have.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
Wanted to be a good host or get the place
ready so you could be hospitable.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Yeah, and I wanted to be on my game.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
And you know how it is when you have guests,
you can't you feel like you can't be on your game.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
I don't mean to be a hypocrite. I'm like you.
I like to heads up if somebody's coming to stay
in our home and so I can get it ready. However,
she is an adult, and if she doesn't care that
the fridge isn't going to be stocked for her friend,
or that the bathroom's not going to be clean for
her friend, then that's on her.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
True.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
It's like, if she's not embarrassed by the condition of
the place.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Oh well, well that doesn't make me feel any less blindsided.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
You're gonna have to lay down the wall with her.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Then at some point, Yes, I fear that that conversation
is coming. And that's a conversation as you know that
I'm not looking forward to having.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Shelby and Chilly's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
I had an ex girlfriend who said someone was once
so yummy she could eat him with the spoon. Do
you think that applies to Adam Levina Maroon five? I
suppose it could.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
Well.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
If you get today's nearly impossible question right, you'll go
see for yourself just how tasty he might be. The
question is, this.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Is the only muscle in the human body attached only
at one end?

Speaker 5 (14:52):
What is it?

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Eight six six, nine two seven forty three sixty one
is the number? Maroon five? Come into town? You want
to go to the show? We can make that happen.
Thank you, Live Nation, And if you want those tickets,
here's the question one more time.

Speaker 4 (15:06):

only at one end? What is it?

Speaker 5 (15:12):
All right? Think about it?

Speaker 3 (15:13):

Speaker 1 (15:22):

Speaker 3 (15:26):
All right, Frank, Chili's going to give you the question
one more time, just in case people might have missed it.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
This is the only muscle in the human body that
is attached only on one end? What is it? All right?
My answer is tongue. The tongue, Frank, is that a
wild guest? Or did you happen to know that?

Speaker 6 (15:44):
Wow?

Speaker 5 (15:45):
Lucky? Get really? I thought maybe you took meds school
or something.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
No wait, no he's not an e NT.

Speaker 5 (15:52):
No he's not.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
But you are very lucky. Indeed you win. Congratulations, Thank
you so much.

and you didn't even need Google. Congratulations.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
Victims of the late Jeffrey Epstein and Glene Maxweller speaking

totally more than ten thousand dollars. Thirty one year old
Christine Woodson was pulled over last month for a traffic
violation and is now being held without bond. Fairfax County

(18:14):
is testing a new AI system to handle their non
non emergency nine to one one calls, such as permit

get callers connected with the right help faster and With
ninety percent of Americans say it's important to be ready
for a natural disaster, fewer than half actually have a plan.

(18:38):
Younger generations apparently more prepared, and most people prioritize backup power,
evacuation plans, and extra food and water forecasts. For today,
it's going to be lovely. Lots of sun hies around
eighty two right now, fifty five in Ashburn coming up.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
In a few.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
It's toby and chilly in the morning. The best times
of day for you to do common things, you know,
the menial tasks, the tasks you may not like doing well.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
There's a list.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
We'll share that list with you, and of course we
want to see what you have to say about it.
So eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty
one is the number hear that list of the best
times to do the very common tasks coming up in
just minutes.

Speaker 5 (19:24):
With Tobe and Chilly in the morning.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
We are Toby and Chilly in the morning here at
ninety seven point one wash FM. Chances are good you
might have a thought or two about this article from
Real Simple magazine that breaks down the best time of
day to do things like cleaning the house.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Yeah, they say four pm is the best time to
clean your home because that's when your hand eye coordination
is at its peak and your mood levels are high.
What is this sorcery? You speak of the best time
to clean home at four pm? If they're talking about
a weekday, aren't most people going to be exhausted if

(20:05):
they happen to be home from work by then. I
don't know how I feel about later.

Speaker 6 (20:09):
In the day.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
I can tell you that I feel this way. The
best time of day to clean the house is never,
Oh god, no time. There's no time that is a
good time to clean the house. Not four pm, not
four am, not twelve noon, not six pm. Okay, although
they do say we should clean them late in the afternoon.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Come on now, all right, let's see if you'll agree
with this. They say the best time they is to
return merchandise at ten in the morning. And here's why,
because that is when you're going to have your best
ratio of staff to customers. That makes sense, before they
get too busy. There's actually going to be somebody there
to take your return, right, Okay, I can see that.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Yeah, because at ten o'clock most people are working. Yeah,
assuming that they all follow the same schedulisma to other
people who work that nine to five thing.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
That is one advantage you and I have for working
mornings like this is if we really needed to, we
could run our errands between like ten and eleven.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
If we needed to, the show would be done and
we wouldn't have to come back chilly, come on now.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Oh okay, speaking of not coming back or it work related, right,
Apparently the best time of day to ask for a
raise is it five PM? Because that's when your boss
is not feeling rushed and has time to truly listen.
And that's most likely to be at the end of
the day.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
And that's a bunch of hooey.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Why because if I asked the boss for a raise
at anytime of the day, the boss would be like, no,
laugh me out the building and I'd be sent on
my merry way.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
But also bosses are just like us. They want to
get home to their families too. Do they really want
to linger for another? God knows how long to talk
about your.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Raise, So five o'clock in the afternoon when the day
is ending, is not the best time to ask a
boss for some sort of a raise. And if this
has spoken to you, you can see the list on
the Toby and Chilipage washfm dot com. And if you
have thoughts eight six, six, nine two, seven forty three
sixty one. Now stay right there because coming up with us.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
We got an email from a listener who needs some
advice related to his ex wife.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
Well, advice is something we're good at, so stay right
there and will help out as much as we can do.
Good advice said something we dispense well with Toby and
Chili in the morning here at ninety seven point one
wash FM. Here is an email we got from Marcus.
Marcus apparently is having some issues with his ex wife. Says, Hi,

(22:53):
Toby and Chili, I'm hoping you can give me some advice.
My ex wife and I divorced a bit ago. We
don't have kids together. What I'm struggling with is that
she's still using my last name.

Speaker 5 (23:05):
Now.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Part of me feels like it shouldn't bother me. We're
divorced in life goes on, but another part of me
can't help feeling weird about it, like she's holding on
to something that isn't hers anymore. I don't know if
I should just let it go or if it's reasonable
for me to feel upset about it my overthinking this.
I would really love to hear your take. Thanks, Marcus.

(23:28):
That's a deep question there, Marcus, one that I will
hand off to the married person on the show as
I duck that answer, Jillie, you've been married for a
little while.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
What are your thoughts.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
Look for a woman to change her name, it is
an ordeal, like it's a lot to change every legal
document to any new last name. Part of the reason
she may still have your last name, Marcus, is she
doesn't want to go through that hassle. Also, she may
remarri eight. She'll change her name at that point if

(24:01):
she wants to. But imagine if she changes a tour
maaiden name now, then remarries again down the road and
changes it again. It's too much work. So quite bluntly,
I think you're overthinking.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
It, drama free.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Just side on the side of peace and quiet. You
guys have both been through enough. That's let it go, man,
That's right, let it go, all right, life goes on.
That's what you've said in your email there, Marcus, all right,
you got some thoughts eight sixty six nine two seven
forty three sixty one. Toby and Chilly in the Morning,

(24:36):
We would love to hear your take on this, so
feel free to call right now or tap the talk
back microphone if you're signed in listening to us on
your iHeart app.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
Your thoughts are on the way in just minutes.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
As Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues, but before
we get to that, the news top stories to the
top of the hour, hang with us. Shout out to
