three sixty one Chilly, Why are you feeling good? Because
I've got like three things today I've got to decide
on really fast, so I figured I would ask you first.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Okay, Well, yesterday was a beautiful day and there was
no school because it was election day in Fairfax County,
and I somehow got my eleven year old to go
on a walk with me. He loaths going on walks
or hikes, like he's just like feels like it's a
pointless activity. Sure, but I'm like, no, we're going outside.

(00:53):
And he did it with not as much complaint in
the file. Only one mile, mind, It's not like we're
doing it several miles.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
But we did it.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
We got it out of the way.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
And I'm hoping that there's more of those in the future.
I'm not gonna hold my breath, but.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Come on now, he felt good. You got one day,
I got a win.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
I got one win yesterday for him joining me on
the walk.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
What about you?

Speaker 4 (01:19):
So, what of the three things are you going to chew?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Well? I think that I am happy that we have
robust law enforcements in our community. Now. This morning, I
ran to get my ice coffee. I don't know exactly
what happened, but I know that for whatever reason, you know,
I heard all these sirens come flying up right, and

(01:45):
it's early morning, so you never know what's going on.
But boy, they were on whatever they were on, and
there was something going on, and they pulled over and
they were all up on a car and I guarantee
you the car wasn't speeding. And I just was like, wow,
you know, we really we live in a place where
we've got law enforcement that's on duty and on points

(02:08):
twenty four hours a day, you know, ready to make
sure that you know, to protect and serve. And so
I just thought I would say thank you to the
people who are in law enforcement this morning, specifically the
ones that I saw on three point fifty five at
the McDonald's when I was getting my ice coffee. I
don't know what y'all were up to. I'm sure whatever's

(02:29):
going on, somebody's innocent till proven guilty in a court
of law. But thank you for what you do for
all of us that we never say thank you for.
We're Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven

write your story. How many times? How many times in

(06:19):
We just go along to get along, Well, rewrite that script.
Fear is not going to get the final word, not
in your life, not today. So don't let it. Fear

What about your grocery store drama that you told us

(07:06):
about right now?

Speaker 3 (07:08):
The woman who accused me of cutting in line? But
was I really cutting?

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Come on, well, hear what you have to say. Coming
up next with Toby and Chili in the morning. Stay
right there, Toby and Chili in the morning, ninety seven
point one Watch FM. In case you mis said yesterday,
there was a little bit of drama that Chili you
told us about from a recent trip to the grocery store.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
In the checkout line for self checkout, a woman accused
me of cutting in front of her. She had left
her cart in line and when something opened up, I
went ahead and she came and said, no, well, my
cart was holding my place.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
It's my turn to go.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
And Marie has got a few thoughts she wants to
share with you, Chili. Good morning, Maritza, go ahead.

Speaker 6 (07:49):
A cart is an inanimate object.

Speaker 5 (07:51):
As someone who has been in.

Speaker 6 (07:52):
Retail for over forty years, trust me, She was in
the wrong. You soon as you lose, you walked away
from the cart. You're not going to hold my line
so that you can walk away and someone's gonna stand
there waiting for your cart to ring itself up.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
How many times in your decades of experience do you
see people trying to do what that woman tried to do?

Speaker 6 (08:13):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (08:14):
Very frequently.

Speaker 6 (08:15):
But if I'm the cashier, if I'm the one ringing people, oh,
I'm sorry, I can't take you that person's next.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Does the rule also apply to those who self checkout
kind of situations?

Speaker 6 (08:26):
Absolutely, We actually have a human being that stands at
self checkout and takes you know, helps the people to
make sure they're ringing everything up if they have any problems.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
So, yeah, the rule applies.

Speaker 6 (08:37):
Part cannot ring itself up.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
It's not human.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
I appreciate the support and the voter confidence because the
next time this happens, Mariza, I am going to stand
my ground. I Am not going to let her go
ahead of me. I'm gonna say uh uh uh uh,
that's an inanimate object. Mariza says, this is not okay.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Take your titled A doubles out of here.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
You got it.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
I've gotta scan these things and way my cucumbers.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
That's right, that's crazy.

Speaker 6 (09:07):
You absolutely, Chilly, you were very nice. I'm not always
that nice. It'd be like nah, sorry.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Neither of mind, neither mine. She caught me on a
good moments.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
It's not worth the houshole.

Speaker 6 (09:19):
Sometimes Karens are very entitled, and we get a lot of.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Those very entitled too, many of these Karen's running around.

Speaker 6 (09:26):
Yes, well, you guys, have a fabulous, fabulous day.

President Trump's thirty day emergency order in DC is wrapped up.
The federal agents and National Guard brought in under the
order have been credited with reducing crime, but a lot
of critics say they've also made people feel uneasy and
it has hurt local businesses, although city leaders warned that
law enforcement really isn't going anywhere just yet. Also in Virginia,

(11:03):
Democrat James Walkinshaw is going to be the newest member
of Congress. He won yesterday's special election to replace Jerry Connolly,
who died back in May. In Maryland, Governor Wes Moore

A few minutes ago, we talked with Marizza about Chili's
grocery line dramas she was accused. Chili was accused of
cutting the line at a grocery store. If you missed it,
we talked about it yesterday, and then of course the
thoughts came rolling in. Mariza had some thoughts. Well, there's
even more thought's waiting on talkback right now. If you

(13:02):
haven't used talkback before, you gotta be signed into your
iHeart app. And then it's real simple. You tap that
microphone with the circle around it, you speak, and your
voice message comes right to us here in the studio.
We'll get to these talkbacks about the grocery drama coming
up in minutes with Toby and Chili in the Morning.
Stay right there. People are very shook it this morning

(13:25):
listening to Toby and Chili in the Morning on ninety
seven point one watch FM. Why because we're having a
conversation about Chili's dilemma at the grocery store. Somebody accused
her of cutting in line.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Yeah, yesterday I mentioned this woman walked out of line,
left her cart behind, and then when the self check
out opened, I went ahead. She came back and said,
excuse me, my cart was holding my place.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Dennis your thoughts this morning.

Speaker 7 (13:51):
I don't think Chili could do anything wrong ever, But
communication is a key. If the person asked you, hey,
could you mind to my place? I got to go
get one thing I forgot, then you know, do you
have an expectation? But if they don't say anything, you
don't have an idea of how they're longer going to
be or whatever. So you're not going to hold up

(14:11):
the line behind you, So it's time to go.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Exactly what I told Chilly, I said, if you would ask,
then that is you maintaining the situation, you know what
I mean, maintaining kind of control over the situation.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
Well, even that has a time limit, guys, right, Like,
I'm not going to sit there and wait and wait
and wait more than a minute or two. I'm sorry,
because there are people behind me also waiting.

Speaker 7 (14:33):
Yes, but in your mind you just play out how
long it takes to run back and get you know,
that thing that they're missing, and then you can say okay,
that's time enough. I'm going you look around next.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
The bread isle is not that far away, sir.

Speaker 7 (14:49):
All right, you guys, have a great day. You're wonderful.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Thank you, sir, thank you, thank you, thank you. Dennis,
take care now.

Speaker 7 (14:55):
Have a good day.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
And here comes Megan via talk bag. She left this message.

Speaker 8 (15:01):
Personally, I think Chili should just let it go for
now and try to give the person the benefit of
the doubt, like some understanding. I'm sure the person would
be appreciative. However, the person who do back to Chili
should realize what they did and not do it again.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Thank you for taking the time to talk back, Meghan. Now,
for the record, Chili did let the other woman go?

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Yes, never again, Toby and Chili's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
We're gonna need a question for this here, game, Chili.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
What you got There are just over a three point
eight million of these in the United States. I'm gonna
give you a big hint. It is an occupation, aliety.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Well, all right, so it's an occupation. Let's hear the
question one more time.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
There are just over three point eight million of these
in the United States.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
What we talking about eight.

the answer to that question. Thank you to all right,

(16:21):
then call now You're nearly impossible question is on for
this Wednesday.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
Toby and Chilli's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
All right, Chili hit us with the question one more
time for these Maroon five tickets.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Now, I did give a clue earlier, which I will
give again if needed. But there are just over three
point eight million of these in the US. It is
an occupation. What is it?

Speaker 2 (16:43):
The silver spring? We go Daniel, Daniel, my brother, good morning,

just that your guess close?

Speaker 5 (17:05):
I'm a therapist, so kind of in that same boat.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
We really do appreciate what you do.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
That's right. We should start calling you more often. Do
you take our insurance?

Speaker 1 (17:17):

just like we need our teachers. And by the way,
since teachers is correct, this means you get to go.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
And see Maroon five at CFG Bank Arena on November sixteen,
thanks to Live Nation.

Speaker 7 (17:52):
Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
You could do that all day if you wanted to. Well,
the tickets are yours right now, Daniel and Silver Spring enjoy.
Thank you so much for giving us call. And by
the way, we do need an official show therapist. You're hired, okay, right,
very good.

Speaker 7 (18:11):
I'll give you my email later so we can set
that up.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
That's right, Toby and Chilli page WASHCHFM dot com. You'll

song of the Summer has been chosen. Will tell you
what this song is, and then we're gonna have an
interesting conversation about it because it's not really what you

(21:24):
might expect it to be, or maybe you do if
you want to get involved. Eight six, six, nine, two,
seven forty three sixty one. That's next with Toby and
Chile in the Morning. Toby and Chilly in the Morning,
ninety seven point one wash FM. Summer is over and
the people who put together the list of the official

(21:45):
song of the summer say, Chile, now we have one. Yeah. One.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
I'm not so sure that I would agree with this,
but we'll let you hear it right now.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
You may know this. It's called Ordinary and it's by
Alex Warre.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Alex Warren, Ordinary, the song or the Summer Your thoughts.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Chilly, Honestly, I was thinking during the summer, gosh, I
wonder what song is going to be sort of the
anthem for the season, And I could not think of
any And even though I like that song, Toby, I'm
not so sure that there really was one that stood
out for me.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
This summer good song not an anthem.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
It's a good inspirational song, sure, but not an anthem.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
What do you think a song of summer needs to have?

Speaker 2 (22:42):
It needs to be uplifting, it needs to have tempo.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
Oh so it needs to be like a faster song.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
Yeah, okay, what is it about summer that gets its
own song?

Speaker 4 (22:51):
That's the only season that we talk.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
About because summer is the season for going to the beach,
for ruling the holes.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
There is no school, so we need we need some
sort of song that'll be the soundtrack to them.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Yeah, it's the song that old that you want to
go driving to ordinary to. I mean, good song would
make the playlist, not the song, not that one song.
In fact, I think something you've said when we were
talking about the show today makes a lot of sense.
There is no one clear song of the summer, and
there are too many different things now that go into

(23:31):
making the song of the summer.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
There's too many boxes that it has to check for
it to potentially be the song of the summer. All
this to say it's really sad that summer is over,
because maybe there could have been another contender instead.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
We're all confused that Alex wore an ordinary made song
of the Summer ninety seven point one Wash FM thoughts
eight six six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
You need to stay right there. Why is that? Because
if you're dating someone who collects this, it's a gigantic
red flag.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
And might I say it's a pretty annoying trend as well.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
One of those trends that needs to just go bye bye.
We'll talk about what that trend is in just two minutes,
and of course we're gonna want to get your take
on it too. At eight six six nine two seven
forty three sixty one. We'll get to all of this
and more with Toby and Chili in the Morning. Coming up.
Red flag alerts from Toby and Chilly in the Morning
here at ninety seven point one. Watch at them. Dating

(24:29):
someone who collects la booboos is a red flag? Is
it a trend that needs to go away? Do you
have thoughts, Chili? Do you want to explain what a
la booboo is? Do you know what a labooboo is?

Speaker 3 (24:44):
It's a gremlin like. It's like a these collectible dolls,
and I mean, I guess you could say they look cute.
