(00:28):
finding something that makes us feel good before five in
the morning. Chilly you mar my esteemed partner, Yes you
have anything that's making you feel good today? Or do
you wish you could crawl back into bed and say
wake me up when it's next week?

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Is that really an option, because yes, that's what I
would like I would like to take be please may
I some days are just a b day, like let's
just go back to bed and wake up another day. Yes, true,
Well at least I woke up today. You know, I'm
just gonna keep it simple. I'm glad my eyes open
and see about it.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
If there's always something to be thankful for, and there's
always something to feel good about before five.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
I wanted to say today that.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
I am very, very thankful for Crash, our new producer,
every day that we have worked together with Crash, he's
and I was a little bit late to the game
because I had the whole hospital thing and my leg
thing and whatever. But he has done something that's made
me go at a boy, which is something my first
program director, my first boss used to say whenever you

(01:34):
know something well, something went really really well, you know
what I mean, at.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
A boy, that's right, at a boy.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah, I'm like, I think he was just treating me
like his puppy, trying to train me. Been Crash does
not need to be trained at all. But Crash, you've
done a spectacular job so far. I'm hopefully I'm not
jinxing anything, but I just felt like you needed to know. Man,
you make coming to work fun. Thank you, Thank you
for being you, and that is why I'm feeling good

(02:05):
this morning. You eight six six nineteen seven forty three
sixty one is the number. Talkback is wide open to
feel free to go ahead and let us know why
you are having some positive feels this early morning. In
the meantime, here we go let's talk news, Chilli.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
I know, don't want to bring the room down, but
authorities are still searching for the gunmen who shot and
killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Yesterday got the latest in
just a few top stories Top of the Hour Top
Stories presented by Celsius Energy Drinks. Authorities are searching for
the gunmen who shot and killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

(02:45):
Two people were arrested yesterday, but then they were later
cleared of any involvement, and officials have not yet released
any description of the suspect. In Colorado shooting at Evergreen
High School left three students injured before the gunman died
from self inflicted gunshot wound. The shooter, who is armed
with a revolver, remains unidentified and investigators plan to search

(03:07):
his home and locker. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is urging
Congress to reject thirteen bills that could limit the city's
home rule, including proposals to eliminate the elected attorney general
and end cashless bail. She says Congress should not further
reduce DC's already limited autonomy. Several dozen DC organizations are

(03:28):
calling on the city council to revise the Washington Commander's
stadium deal. They want clearer commitments on community benefits and
stronger enforcement powers for the Attorney General. The Council's expected
to make a final vote on the stadium legislation next week.
Now in Stafford County, the school board announced the names
of two new schools that are going to be opening

(03:49):
next year. Falls Run Elementary is going to be known
as the Foxhounds and the Crow's and Hest Elementary will
take the name Blue Jays and Across the Pond. King
Charles and Prince Harry apparently reunited in London for the
first in person meeting in nineteen months. Their relationship, of course,
has been strained since Harry and his wife Megan had

(04:12):
public criticisms of the royal family, but this week's visit
marks a rare step toward reconciliation. Forecast for today will
have eventually some sun come out, the highs near eighty
right now though it's fifty nine degrees in Germantown.

to get you into a better morning mindset.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
We turned to Mel Robbins, who is just incredible her insights,
her books, Mel Robbins, Google Mel Robbins. She says, your
energy introduces you before you even speak.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Mel Robbins, your.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Energy introduces you before you even speak. What does this mean?
What is this telling you and I on this Thursday morning. Well,
it's saying, at least to me, show up with intention
because presence is power. What does that say to you,
Mel Robbins, Your energy introduces you before you even speak.

(05:46):
Remember that today if you have a meeting, if you're
going to meet new people, maybe you're going to talk
to somebody about a new job. It's been an interesting time,
but remember that if that energy, that good energy will
introduce you before where you say a word. Thank you
Mel Robinson, by the way that you morning mindset for
this Thursday. If you need to hear it again, you

(06:08):
can Toby and chilipage washchefm dot com. It is ninety
seven point one WASHFM. Thanks for waking up with us.
Coming up in just minutes.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Nike is reimagining it's iconic just do It slogan with
a new campaign.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
How do you replace something as iconic as just do it?
Wait until you hear everything next with Tobe and Chile
in the Morning. It's one of the most iconic taglines
of all time. Nike's just do it It stood the
test of time. Is something that you see and you

(06:45):
instantly know, like that swoosh, that it's Nike. And if
you remember the just do It commercials from back in
the day, then you you know how kind of important
that was. Well, there's a change of coming to Nike.
Toby and Chilly in the Morning seven point one watch FM.
Chilly tell us about the change.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Well, they're reimagining the whole thing and they've got a
new campaign asking why do it? And it's basically, I mean,
according to Nike's folks, they're trying to encourage young athletes
to see greatness as a series of choices.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
You could give everything you have it still lose. But
my question is.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
What if you don't? That laughed?

Speaker 5 (07:30):
Was it?

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Tyler the creator?

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Tyler the creator and that laugh. It's just brilliant, the
entire idea, the concept. To me, I'm all about it,
and I'm all for it because I believe that, you
know what, there is no guarantee in light no matter
what it is you're trying to do. If you go
back to the beginning, the first just do It advertisements

(07:51):
had an eighty five year old guy running across the
Golden gate Bridge. This one reminds you that, you know what, yeah,
maybe you will, maybe you will fail. It's part of
the risk that you take in order to be successful,
you know, And that to me is the most powerful
thing about the commercial.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
I don't know your thoughts.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
I mean, I love to just do it, you know,
And I'm glad that they're playing off of that, because
in the end, they're saying, go ahead and just do
it anyway, because there's a chance you'll end up winning.
So what if you don't, But there is still a
chance you'll end up winning. So changing that mindset right,
which we always try to do with the show anyway,
is to have you look at it through a positive

(08:31):
lens and not necessarily always fearing the worst.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
So as Chili would say, just do it, and I
would say why do it? And the answer is because
doing it is a win in itself. Great stuff. If
you want to see the Nike ad, we've got it
for you. Find it on the Tilby and chilipage at
waschefm dot com and stay right there because coming up
in just a few minutes top stories at the top

Speaker 4 (10:09):
A manhunt is underway for the shooter who killed conservative
activist Charlie Kirk during an outdoor rally at Utah Valley
University yesterday. Authorities initially had announced two arrests, but both
those individuals were later cleared of any connection to that attack.
DC Mayor Muriel Bowser said the end of the president's
emergency order will also end police cooperation with ICE. She

(10:33):
emphasized that immigration enforcement is not part of the police
department's role, and noted that while federal forces have supported
public safety, their deployment is no longer needed. The DC
restaurant where President Trump dined Tuesday, is making headlines online.
Yelp and Google reported a surge in negative reviews and

(10:53):
said they're going to remove any comments that are not
based on actual dining experiences. Fairfact's County Public Schools appealing

to nearly double salaries for the mayor and council members.
The increases were actually scaled back from a larger proposal
initially suggested by the city manager, and new research shows
that attraction goes far beyond facial features. Voice emerged as

(11:35):
the strongest predictor of attractiveness, while body oder was the weakest.
Now experts say that subtle social cues like extra help
or frequent stairs or the eyebrow flash can reveal when
someone is more attractive than they realize. Forecasts for Today

Speaker 2 (11:57):
You're looking arrested today. Are you rested or fake in it?

Speaker 4 (12:01):
I'm not rested. Oh. I also, well, I got the
results of my sleep study.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
That's that's what I'm getting.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Yeah, I'm curious as to what's going on with you
and your sleep and that sleep study you had at home.
If you missed it earlier, Chili told us all about it. Well,
the results are in and we'll talk about what they
had to say when it comes to Chili and her
sleep health. Coming up on Toby and Chili in the morning.

(12:30):
Chili was off to get a sleep study. I guess
they have technology now that you shared with us. Let
you do the sleep study at home. I find that
to be just amazing.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
Yeah, And the reason they wanted to do the sleep
study at home is they wanted to see if there
was any sleep apnea at play.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Did they find that you snore?

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Toby? Yesterday they told me everything is fine. They said
I have no apnea, that my oxygen levels are amazing,
and that I even had a whole sleep cycle in
the little four hours that I get to sleep every
single night. So you know what the advice was from

(13:15):
the doctor Toby.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
What was that?

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Oh, come on, you know what the advice was from
the doctor Toby?

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Sleep for eight hours.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
We've never heard that before.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
No, of course not no.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
But I find it interesting that you sleep about four hours,
because well, you know, sometimes I try to sleep longer
than four hours, but it's on average about four hours
as well.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
I mean, it's so frustrating. Look, did I want there
to be a serious issue, know, but there's a part
of you when you're trying to understand why you have
trouble falling asleep or staying asleep or having quality sleep,
what the root issue is. And I was hoping that
it was something to do with something that could be
resolved with some sort of an appliance in my mouth,

(13:57):
on my face, whatever it might be. And no, she said,
well I could prescribe something, and I was like, no,
you know what, thanks for the call, but I think
I'm just going to explore some something else.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
You like me to give you some ambient I know
you really want a seapap.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
I mean a sleep divorce with my husband might be
an option.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
I mean, you see this scar on my nose right here, Yeah,
that is from my seapap When I lost a lot
of weight, it retterriated itself. I guess that's a medical term,
and I ended up getting like a thing on my
nose because it was too tight.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
Then anybody who has sleep apnea needs to immediately get
that taken care of because it could eventually. I mean,
I'm not trying to be dramatic, but you could really
do a lot of damage to your organs if you
don't take care of it.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
So seapap here, I come Shelby and.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Chili's nearly impossible question, All Chili, what's the question?

Did your significant do something to impress your parents?

Think about this?

Also talk back, wide open taps, speak and sent if
you're signed into your iHeart app Chili. You know that
my daughter had Bobby over. She hasn't confirmed this to me,
but he's the boyfriend, okay, And what do you think
of him? Well, I'm impressed. I am impressed by his initiative.
I'm impressed by his handiness. For instance, broke the toilet seat.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
He broke it.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
I did, oh, okay, this is like the third one
I've gone through.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
What does he do?

Speaker 3 (20:53):
He comes and fixes it with tools that he's got
in his car.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
Did you ask him or was this some he did
on his own?

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Kind of a combination of both. I mentioned it because
they were out and I said to Kyla, can you
run by Low's or home depot and pick up this?
I'll send you a link. And she's like, well, why
don't you just use Mobby's tools. He's got them in
his car. And I'm like, hmm, really okay. And by
the way, the two of them went to Ikea because

(21:22):
Kyla wanted a new end table for her bedroom and
they picked one out. You know how Aikea can be.
You have to build what you buy. He build it
with her. Oh and then the most impressive thing next
to him vacuuming the living room.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Oh my was that.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
I look up and the two of them are doing
the dishes, almost like it's a couple's activity. I've never
seen anything like this before. I'm like, Wow, I like
this guy.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
Yeah, I know, I don't blame you. A guy who
fixes broken things around the house, a guy who builds
furniture so you don't have to, and a dude that
washes dishes.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
I would call you my son.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
Look, any guy I ever dated, I always said, if
you want to be loved by the parents, you've got
to really try to impress the parents without making it obvious.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
So what did don do to impress your dad or
your mom?

Speaker 4 (22:15):
He embraced our culture and our traditions, and he was
all for it. And I think that spoke volumes to
my parents. I am first generation Armenian American, and so
he's keeping the culture alive. That's that's right.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
He is eight sixty six nine two seven forty three

your folks? Let's talk. Give us a call right now.
We would love to hear from you. Talkbacks also wide
to open your stories on the way with Toby and
Chile in the morning. However, speaking of stories, next we

(22:48):
go to Alexandria.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
Fatima's going to tell us about her crazy first date
story where going on a hike had her end up
in the hospital.

Speaker 6 (22:55):
Huh yeah, next, so crazy.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
Come Alexandria, Good morning, Fatima. Lay that story on Chilli
Yamar and myself.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Please.

Speaker 7 (23:08):
Well, about forty years ago, is going to school at
another Virginia community college. I walked into the classroom looking
for a left handed seat because I'm left handed. And
as I'm rearranging the seats, he walks in and he
looks at me, like, what are you doing? And I
looked at him, says, I'm left handed. I always look
for a left handed seat. She's like, I'm left handed too.
So we kind of started talking. Eventually he ended up

(23:30):
asking me on a date. So we went to Great Falls,
Virginia for a wonderful date. And in between all of that,
I ended up slipping and falling into the water and
hurt my ankle.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Well that's not good, especially out of Great Falls while
you're hiking. What happened?

Speaker 7 (23:46):
He had to take me and lift me and kind
of pull me up the rocks and walk to our car,
which was about half a mile or so away, and
took me to Fairfax Hospital where he stayed with me,
and they had the bandage to the ankle and take
care of it. Fortunate he wasn't broken, but it was
definitely a thing. And here I am, you know, hurtling
along with this herd ankle.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Did that end the dates or what did you do?

Speaker 7 (24:10):
Then we went to dinner and we you know, spent
time talking. Eventually we ended up dating for a while
and eventually moved in together and got married and have
a wonderful daughter. And it was great when.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
He took you to the hospital and decided to stay.
Was that the moment, Fatima, where you thought this guy
was a keeper?

Speaker 7 (24:30):
Part of it was that I was definitely impressed. He
just had a really kind heart and he was just
a wonderful guy. So it really made sense for me.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
Did he ever have to carry you ever again? I mean,
you were a clumsy person in general? Was that a
one off thing?

Speaker 2 (24:45):
When you guys were hiking and grateful?

Speaker 7 (24:49):
Sometimes I'm clumsy?

Speaker 8 (24:50):
Know?

Speaker 7 (24:50):
The only time he ever carried me again? When he
carried me through the speciold of our first house.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
That's lovely and they both lived happily ever after.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
And if you've got a crazy stage story, we'd love
to hear right now because you could become an instant
finalist to go see the Trans Siberian Orchestra at Capital
One Arena on the holidays.

Speaker 3 (25:11):

right in. He helped my mom's at the table, He
