Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
one wash EM.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Good morning, It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning on
ninety seven point one wash FM. Welcome to another work week.
I'm Chiliamar and I'm here with our producer Crash.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
How are you this morning?
Speaker 4 (00:17):
I am fantastic fresh off the weekend.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Yeah, what did you did? You guys do anything fun
this weekend? I mean we didn't do a lot.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
It was more of a relaxing weekend because this was
the first weekend since we started moving, like almost two
months ago, than we weren't continuing to move because we're
all settled in Wow. That was amazing.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Well, I do want to talk to you about that
a little bit later in the show, the whole process
of you moving, because you're a pro at moving. We
went apple picking at Butler's Orchard. We do this every
year in September, and I always romanticize it in my head, like, Oh,
we're gonna go, We're gonna pick apples. No, mine, eleven
year old son inevitably complains, And it was hot yesterday,
(00:58):
so he was right about that.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
But we got forty seven apples.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
And you counted them individually.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Yeah, Well, after we got our peck right our bag,
we came home and we counted how many we were
able to put into that bag that we got the
peck that we received, and it's not gonna last us
very long because we love apples and our family. So
after my son had a bite of the apple, he
was like, Okay, it was worth it. Okay, it's not
(01:27):
like the grocery store. No, no, it's not. But the
fall season is upon us and there are a lot
of great places in the DMV where you can pick apples,
and I encourage you to do it because honestly, nothing,
nothing tastes quite as good as picking the apple right
off of a tree. But we've got a lot planned
(01:48):
for you in the show coming up next, though, we
want to get you up to speed on all the
news headlines, including the date for the memorial for Charlie
Kirk has been set, and will share the details coming
up as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on
ninety seven point one wash FF.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Top Stories presented by Celsius Energy Drinks.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
A memorial for Charlie Kirk.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Will be held Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona,
with President Trump expected to attend. The accused gunman, twenty
two year old Tyler Robinson, faces arraignment on state murder
charges tomorrow. Meanwhile, the White House is asking Congress for
fifty eight million dollars to ramp up security for the
executive and judicial branches in the wake of Kirk's killing.
(02:40):
The funds would go to the US Marshall's Service and
also include enhanced protection for Supreme Court justices. A DC
man was found guilty of sexually abusing five women at
metro stations between January and March of this year. Belisse
Nicholas Dorsey had three previous convictions for similar offenses. His
mister mention was enhanced to a felony. He is set
(03:03):
to be sentenced November fourteenth. Maryland hospitals are reporting a
fourth straight year of rising medical errors, continuing a concerning
trend in patient safety. State health officials say the increase
highlights ongoing challenges and preventing mistakes and protecting patients. In
case you missed it, the Studio took home the Emmy
(03:26):
for Outstanding Comedy Series last night, with Seth Rogan accepting
that Award. The show earned twenty three nominations this year,
which ties the record for the most in a single
year for a comedy. Meanwhile, The Pit won Outstanding Drama Series. Now.
You can see the full list of Emmy winners at
washfm dot com. Forecast today, we're gonna have partly sunny skies,
(03:47):
highs around eighty two right now, sixty two in Lanham
and coming up in just a few minutes. We're going
to try to get you into a better headspace, says.
We start a new workweek with our morning mindset quote
Toby and Chile in the Morning continues on ninety seven
point one wash FM. It is time now for your
morning mindset. This is where we share a quote to
(04:09):
get you into a better headspace. It's Toby and Chile
in the Morning on ninety seven point one wash FM.
I'm Chilliyamar. Toby Napp is out today. Dennis Weightly says
there are primarily two choices in life to accept conditions
as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them. Now,
this quote is a reminder that while we cannot control everything,
(04:32):
we do control how we respond. Choosing responsibility means stepping
up making decisions and even taking action to create a
better outcome instead of just waiting around for somebody else
to fix it. And ultimately, it really is about empowerment,
deciding whether to live with circumstances or to shape them.
So again, Dennis Weitly says, there are primarily two choices
(04:53):
in life to accept conditions as they exist, or accept
the responsibility for changing them. And you can find that
quote or share your own on the Toby and Chili
page at washfm dot com. Now coming up in just
a few minutes. At the beginning of the show, our
producer Crash said that he was finally done moving into
(05:14):
a new place now. He told me that this was
by far one of the most difficult moves he's had.
He's going to share why and maybe you can relate.
Coming up next, as Toby and Chilly in the Morning
continues on ninety seven point one wash FM. Ninety seven
point one WASHFM, It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
I'm Chiliamar. Toby Nap is out, but our producer Crash
(05:38):
is here. And Crash, I know that we've kind of
mentioned this on the show before, but you recently just
got done moving three days ago into.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
A new place.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
And just a quick backstory, You've lived in the DC
area for a while and you were just moving from
one condoor apartment building to another.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
About how what was the distance? It's a blog block
away walk away. Now why was this the hardest move
you've had?
Speaker 2 (06:03):
Though?
Speaker 4 (06:04):
I think because it was a block I underestimated how
difficult it was going to be because in my brain,
I'm like.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
It's not that far. How hard is this going to be?
Just a move is a move, and I just I
was unprepared. Wow, what was the.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Hardest part for you psychologically? I guess like because I
could see you getting stressed here at work too, not
for work related reasons, but because you had.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
This move, this pending move, you know, over over your
head because she's living in boxes for two months.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
I would I would sit in my living room and
it was just full of boxes and clutter.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
And I mean, you know, I mean, you've moved, you
know what it's like I have, But have you unpacked everything?
Speaker 4 (06:46):
We have? We finished this past week. Everything one thing
is packed, it's put away, it's clean, it is in order,
and it felt amazing this weekend to not have to
be working.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
I'm going to confess something. And I know people are
going to judge me for this, but oh well, we
moved into our current home eight years ago. There are
still easily a dozen boxes we have not unpacked.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
You don't need any of that stuff.
Speaker 6 (07:14):
You're right, you.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Are right, but maybe I will.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
And the downside is we have that extra room that
we just shoved everything in and it's killing us. But
you're right now, you've inspired me. I'm going to have
to go home and start going through those boxes. Junk, donation, trash.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
I don't know. I got to make some piles. Coming
up in just a few minutes.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
We are going to get you up to speed on
all the news headlines in Toby and Chili's Top stories
on ninety seven point one wash FF. Remember Hansen, they
are coming to the Hall at Live next month and
you can be there. All you have to do is
get our nearly impossible question correct. We're going to play
(07:57):
the game right around six twenty with Toby and Chilly
in the morning on ninety seven point one wash FM.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Ninety seven point one WASHFM, Washington, an iHeartRadio station, Coming
up on Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
The man accused of murdering conservative activist Charlie Kirk has
a court date this week. We've got the latest on that,
as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety
seven point one wash FM.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
Top Stories Top of the Hour.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
The man accused of murdering conservative activist Charlie Kirk has
a court date this week. Tyler Robinson will be arraigned
on state murder charges tomorrow and he could face the
death penalty. Meanwhile, hundreds gathered at the Kennedy Center last
night for a vigil to honor Kirk. FBI director Cash
Battel is facing criticism after falsely claiming a suspect was
(08:52):
in custody for Charlie Kirk's assassination. That blunder comes as
he heads into congressional hearings where he's going to be
pressed on his leadership changes, the Burroughs Bureau's new focus
on street crime and immigration, as well as rising internal unrest.
George Washington University's Mount Vernon campus has increased security after
(09:15):
threat's surface related to a staff member's post about Charlie
Kirk's shooting. Extra police and security guards were stationed around
campus over the weekend. A person was killed early Saturday,
after being hit by an Orange Line metro train near Vienna.
Officials say evidence suggests that individual may have intentionally laid
on the tracks. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources says
(09:39):
that fall officially begins September twenty second, with leaf color
updates running through November, and forecasters expect a vibrant season,
with peak foliage in the state's western mountains between late
September and early October. And a new study finds the
cost of the American Dream has risen to over five
(10:02):
million dollars.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
That's up six hundred thousand dollars from last year. Now.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
This estimate factors in raising two kids and putting them
through college, healthcare vacations, and also the expenses of owning
a home, cars, and pets. Forecast today, it'll be partly
sunny with highs around eighty two. Right now sixty three
in Leesburg. Parents who have neurodivergent kids, you know, oftentimes
(10:29):
do not go out to places like museums because the
experience can be very overwhelming for their children. Well, coming
up next, I'm going to tell you about an incredible
program the Smithsonian has. It's a sensory friendly program that
is going to be a game changer for your family.
And I'm going to talk about our personal experience from
(10:52):
this past weekend coming up as Toby and Chilly in
the Morning continues on ninety seven point.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
One WASHFM.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Karen's if You got Nearer Divergent Kids. I want you
to know about this amazing program that we discovered last year. Hi,
it's Chili Amar with Toby and Chili in the Morning
at ninety seven point one Washchef Toby Knapp is out today,
but I wanted you to know that the Smithsonian has
this really cool sensory friendly program called Mourning at the Museum. Now,
(11:23):
I have an eleven year old son and he has
ADHD and he's also on the autism spectrum, and a
lot of times we wouldn't want to take him to
a museum because it can be very overwhelming for him.
It's sensory overload. He'll get dysregulated and then you know,
he has a meltdown and nobody ends up having a
good time. But we also don't want to deprive him
of doing some cool things around town, like going to
(11:45):
these free museums. Through a support group, we found out
about Mourning at the Museum, where they do about two
to three times a year. They rotate different museums and
they'll open up the museum before the public gets act access.
So this past weekend it was at the Air and
Space Museum and between eight and ten in the morning,
(12:06):
families who have neurodivergent kids were able to register ahead
of time. Again, it's for free, and we were able
to enjoy the museum what was practically empty. We're talking
maybe one hundred people came, which is great because I
would see like a parent who had a child elope
or like run off and they didn't have to panic
because it wasn't like a large crowd that that child
(12:28):
would get lost in. Another time, a child was very
dysregulated and they were having a meltdown. But the museum
provides kind of a quiet space or a calming place
for that child to sort of go to until they
can regulate themselves.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Again.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
They've got amazing activities for these kids. They've got sensory maps.
I'm telling you, I love this program and I want
to share it with all of you because I know
that there are a lot of people listening who have
avoided doing these fun activities because they don't know how
their child will handle it. Just search more warning at
the Museum Smithsonian, and then that'll take you to their
(13:05):
website where you can register to get on their mailing list,
and maybe I'll see you at the next one.
Speaker 5 (13:13):
Toby and Chilli's Nearly Impossible Question.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
The question today, the average woman has had one of
these for fourteen years?
Speaker 6 (13:22):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Eight six six nine two seven four three six one.
You're playing for tickets to go see Hanson at the
Hall at Live October twenty six. Again, the average woman
has had one of these for fourteen years?
Speaker 4 (13:37):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Eight six six nine two seven four three six one.
That's eight sixty six was Chef m one If you
want to take a guess. The answer to our nearly
impossible question is next with Toby and Chilly in the
Morning on ninety seven point one wash CHEFM.
Speaker 5 (13:54):
Toby and Chilli's Nearly Impossible Questions.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
We're playing for tickets to go see Hanson at the
Hall at Life in October. The average woman has had
one of these for fourteen years?
Speaker 6 (14:06):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Eight six six nine two seven four three six one
is the number? Good morning, Victoria, thanks for listening to
us in Burke. You've got the question, what do you
think the answer might be?
Speaker 5 (14:18):
The answer is a friend, best friend, best friend.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Now, if you look back in your life right now,
is that about how long you've had a best friend?
Speaker 3 (14:26):
About fourteen years? Yeah, I would say about that.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Okay, well maybe maybe your best friend could be your
plus one to see Hanson because that is the correct answer. Oh, yay,
You're gonna go see You're so welcome. Hanson's gonna be
at the Haul at Live October twenty sixth, and you
will be there. So thank you so much for playing
our nearly impossible question today. We're going to have another
(14:52):
pair of tickets tomorrow right around this time with another
question on Toby and Chilly in the Morning at ninety
seven point one wash F I'm coming up next. We're
going to get you up to speed on all of
the news with Toby and Chili's Top Stories.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Ninety seven point one WASHFM, Washington.
Speaker 5 (15:11):
An iHeartRadio station, coming up on Top Stories, Top of
the Hour.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
A memorial for Charlie Kirk will be held next Sunday.
We've got more details on the way as Toby and
Chile in the Morning continues on ninety seven point one
wash FM.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
Top Stories top of the Hour.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
A memorial for Charlie Kirk will be held next Sunday
at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with the President
expected to attend. The accused gunman, twenty two year old
Tyler Robinson, faces arraignment on state murder charges tomorrow. Meanwhile,
the Trump administration has requested fifty eight million dollars from
Congress to boost security for the executive and judicial branches
(15:57):
after Kirk's assassination. The move comes amid a nearly forty
percent rise in political violence this year. President Trump is
expected to see the FEDS cut interest rates after months
of complaining that the action was long overdue. The Federal
Reserve has indicated it will announce a rate cut this
week after a series of poor job reports. Police are
(16:21):
searching for suspects after a ride share driver was carjacked
at gunpoint. This happened near the University of Maryland Saturday afternoon.
The driver says several passengers forced him out of his vehicle,
which police later recovered, although the suspects still remain at large.
Maryland hospitals are reporting a fourth straight year of rising
medical errors, continuing a concerning trend in patient safety. State
(16:44):
health officials say the increase highlights ongoing challenges in preventing
mistakes and also protecting patients. And a new study finds
that bacteria found in the mouth and throat may contribute
to heart attacks, with researchers identifying one type commonly presented
in saliva and dental plaque as the most frequent in
(17:06):
coronary plaque samples.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
Forecast today, we're gonna have partly.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Sunny skies with highs around eighty two right now sixty
three in Bowie. So when it comes to being attracted
to somebody, do you think looks are everything? Well, a
new study finds it's actually your voice, the way you move,
and even the way you smell that might make you irresistible.
(17:31):
We're gonna get into this more coming up as Toby
and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety seven point
one Wash FM. Ninety seven point one Wash FM. It's
Toby and Chili in the Morning. I'm Chiliamar. Toby Napp
is out today, but I'm here with our producer Crash.
We're both married, and I don't know exactly what attracted
you to your wife, Crash, but a new study suggests
(17:54):
it takes more than a pretty face to make someone attractive.
Researchers tested the way different sense impact attraction. They looked
at traits from voice, to body motion, and even body odor.
Can you think of something other than her good looks
that attracted you to your wife?
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Her voice? It was her voice. Her voice, very very good.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
I remember my husband sounding really great on the phone too,
because we met online, and thankfully, when I saw him
in person, I was like, oh good, the voice, the
voice matched the guy.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Yeah. But I did date a guy years ago who
smelled really good.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
I don't know whatever cologne he was wearing, and I
stayed in that relationship longer than I should.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Have, just because he smelled.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
Can you think of something where it's not the voice,
but it's something else that you find attractive in somebody?
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Hands? Like clean hands, clean hand? What do you mean people?
So who doesn't wash their hands? What do you mean?
Speaker 6 (19:02):
Like?
Speaker 5 (19:02):
I mean like clean hands?
Speaker 3 (19:04):
Like no dirty?
Speaker 4 (19:05):
No, no dirty hands?
Speaker 3 (19:06):
Oh so a very well manicured hand, yes.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
Manicured clean?
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Okay, very interesting. We learned something new about our producer today.
What's a surprising thing that you find attractive other than
good looks? We'd love to hear that eight six six
nine two seven four three six one. You could also
leave us a talkback message through our iHeartRadio app. Just
click that microphone and your message will come right here
to the studio. And we're gonna get to your responses
(19:33):
and thoughts coming up in just a little bit. But
first we want to share a story we think will
make your Monday. A long time DC area basketball coach
held a networking clinic over the weekend to honor his son.
We're gonna get to that as Toby and Chilly in
the Morning continues next on ninety seven point one wash FF.
(19:56):
Welcome to Monday Morning. It's Toby and Chilly in the
Morning on ninety seven point one WASHFM. I'm Chilli Omar
and every Monday we like to share a story that
we think will warm your heart. And this one comes
to us from DC, where a father turned tragedy into
something that serves a purpose. It's been over two years
(20:18):
since Blake Boseman was tragically shot and killed in Northeast
d C. And his dad, who's a longtime college basketball coach,
Todd Boseman, continues to honor his memory in meaningful ways. Yesterday,
the twenty two Basketball Coaches Clinic, a networking brunch, was
held at Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Maryland, where
it brought together NBA and college coaches, scouts, and basketball
(20:41):
professionals to share their knowledge and also inspire coaches at
all levels. The event offered lessons in coaching, in leadership,
and video analytics, providing participants from weekend league volunteers to
aspiring professionals with tools to improve themselves, their players, and
the programs. And the Blake Boseman Foundation, which also emphasizes
(21:04):
mental health, gun violence awareness, and financial literacy, was at
the heart of that clinic, helping families and coaches learn
important life skills. So for Todd Boseman, this clinic is
sort of a way to turn a personal tragedy into
purpose and celebrate his son's passion for basketball and also
his dedication to teach and inspire others. And through this event,
(21:27):
Blake's legacy continues to live on and it touches the
community and leaves a lasting impact. So thank you so much,
mister Boseman and the Blake Foundation, the Blake Boseman Foundation
for giving us a story that really does make our Monday,
and you can read more about that on the Toby
and Chili page at waschefm dot com. Coming up next, though,
(21:48):
we've got a lot of headlines lots of news to
cover with Toby and Chili's Top Stories on ninety seven
point one WASHFF. We all remember that one teacher, sure,
one who believed in us, challenged us, or simply made
learning fun. Hi, It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning
on ninety seven point one WASHFM. Well, now's your chance
(22:09):
to show your gratitude in a big way with Iheartradios
Thank a Teacher, powered by donors Choose. You can nominate
your favorite public school teacher for a chance for them
to win five thousand dollars toward those much needed classroom supplies.

Top of the Hour, President Trump plans to deploy the

The man accused of murdering conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has

deploy National Guard troops to Memphis as part of his

crackdown on crime and illegal immigration. Mayor Paul Young, however,
says he did not ask for troops to patrol the
city and doesn't think their deployment will reduce crime. George
Washington University's Mount Vernon campus has increased security after threats

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Officials say that evidence suggests the individual may have intentionally
laid on the tracks. A man is in critical condition
after a fall while climbing the rocks on the Billygoat
Trail in Montgomery County on Saturday evening rescue teams pulled
him from the water at Cino Canal National Historical Park,
and he was hospitalized with life threatening injuries.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
And according to a recent survey, forty.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Percent of adults have lied about their age, typically shaving
off about four years. Most have lied about their age
in bars, nightclubs, or on dating apps. Now, while some
kept up the lie for months, seventy three percent believe
they've never been caught. Forecast today partly sunny skies. Highs

find attractive about your significant other? Eight six six nine

Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point

talking about a study that found that voice actually attracts
people to each other more than physical traits do, and
we wanted to get your thoughts on this. Good morning Gabby,
thanks for being a part of the show in Vienna.
(25:44):
What was it that attracted you to someone?
Speaker 6 (25:47):
Hey, Chili, So I dated this guy way longer than
I should have because of his hair.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
What do you mean by that?
Speaker 6 (25:54):
Because he kind of had that Chiano Reeves thing going on,
you know, and it was all floppy and fallen in
his eyes, and he used to do this little head
flick to get it out of his face, and oh
my gosh, it was just like cat in it for me.
Like I swear, that one move just kept me around
way past the expiration day.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
Uh hair flick.
Speaker 6 (26:16):
Man.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
I thought I was bad for staying with the guy
because he smelled so good.
Speaker 5 (26:19):
I know, I'm ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
No, you're not ridiculous, Gabby. We appreciate the honesty. Eight
sixty six nine two seven four three six one. You
can also leave us a talkback message, just like William did.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
He is from Centerville.
Speaker 7 (26:35):
Yeah, I think about my wife. That stood out to
me so much at the beginning was her laugh, Because
you gotta keep in mind, she is this tiny, peteitque,
beautiful blonde woman, and she's got the deepest, most bellowy,
obnoxious laugh it's like, and the juxtaposition of it was
(26:57):
just wonderful, and I loved it about her. I felt
in love with it immediately.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
