Speaker 2 (00:05):
Good Morning, It's Toby and Chilly in the morning, ninety
seven point one Wash FM. I'm kiddoshe from Good Morning Washington.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Hello, friend, how are you? I'm wonderful? How are you?
I'm doing well.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
I know I saw on social media that you were
visiting your home in Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Yeah, I was.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
I was in Milwaukee visiting family and friends, and I
was just saying that has it been cold and rainy
like this for a couple of days?

Speaker 5 (00:26):
Wait?

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Wait, you said cold and rainy. It's not cold, it's rainy.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Well, I was in sunny and eighty in Wisconsin, and
I came home to rain and oh sixty yesterday.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Okay, Well, wait until a couple of months.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Later when Milwaukee is freezing and we're still in the sixties.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
That is true. That does happen. It does shift real quickly.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
To answer your question, it was rainy yesterday, okay, and
it's going to be rainy again today. But today is
cooler than it was yesterday, So for you, it's going
to be a frigid sixty five today.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
I like rain. I like cold.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
It keeps people inside you got to take a nap
you don't feel guilty of I'll tell you why.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I don't like the rain.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Part of this especially is the driving and the accidents
and getting home from Rockville to Tyson's. Good point, even
at ten eleven am, it is not going to be fun.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
I'm already dreading that.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
But that being said, looking ahead to this weekend, which
is really what matters, because that's when we're off.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Yeah, it's going to be really nice, gorgeous, and we're.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
In that time right now where we're doing the apple
picking tour, the Fall Festival tour, So every weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
We try to hit a different one than the DMV.
Does that make sense you did? I love that?

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
We started at Butler's last weekend, and I think we're gonna, well,
I don't know which one yet this weekend, not necessarily
to pick apples, but to do the Fall festival, you know,
for the kids and all that other stuff.

Speaker 6 (01:47):
And there are so many of them and they are
so great. They are they are great, and the earlier
you go, the better it is. It's not as crowded
in my opinion, because people don't think about fall until
November or October, right, so now's the time to go.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Get your fall activities out now, get the pictures done
down posted on the gram, and you'll.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Be kind to go.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Hi. I was there first, exactly. Toby and Tilly's Top
stories are coming up next.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Yeah, So, FBI Director Cash Patel clashed with Senate Democrats
during a very heated hearing yesterday. We've got the details
on that story and more as Toby and Chilly in
the Morning continues on ninety seven point one wash FM
Top Stories.

Speaker 7 (02:29):
Top of the Hour.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Top Story is presented by Celsius Energy Drinks. The man
accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk is being held without bond
in Utah. Tyler Robinson appeared at a virtual hearing in
Provo yesterday, where he was informed the state is seeking
the death penalty in his case, and Robinson appeared in
a green bulletproof vest. FBI Director Cash Pattel clash with

(02:53):
Senate Democrats during a very heated Judiciary Committee hearing yesterday,
sparring over topics including Charlie Kirk and Jeffrey Epstein investigations.
House Republicans, they introduced a stop gap funding bill to
keep the federal government running through November twenty first, including
an added eighty eight million dollars for security for lawmakers,

(03:15):
the Supreme Court, and the executive branch. Democrats said the
proposal dodges pressing health care issues. D C Police shot
and killed a man and the Palisades after he returned
to a home where a domestic disturbance had been reported,
wielding two knives and acting erratically. Officers say they repeatedly
ordered him to drop the knives, and once he charged

(03:36):
at them, that's when they fired their weapons. President Trump
has pushed back the deadline for TikTok's possible US ban.
So now that deadline has been extended to December sixteenth
to give time for a deal with China under a
new framework agreement. And in case you missed it, Robert Redford,
the legendary actor, died yesterday at his home in Utah.

(03:59):
He was eighty nine. Redford went an Oscar for Directing
Ordinary People back in nineteen eighty and also starred in
a lot of iconic films, including Butch Cassidy and The Sun,
Dance Kid, The Sting, The Way We Were, and All
the President's Men Forecast. Today, we'll have rainy skies with
highs in the mid sixties right now sixty in Lorton.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
All right, I'm kiddoshe in for Toby coming up next
to our morning mindset and inspirational quote to get you
in the right mindset on this Wednesday morning. Next with
Toby and Chilly in the morning. Backstreet Boys ninety seven
point one Wash FM with Toby and Chile in the morning.
I'm kiddoshe, It's time for our morning mindset.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Today's quote comes to us from Benny Lewis, who says,
the difference between a stumbling block and a stepping stone
is how high you raise your foot. This quote is
really just about perspective in your attitude. So instead of
seeing setbacks as failures, we can choose to view them
as opportunities to learn and to improve. So this way,

(04:59):
our per personal growth really depends not on the challenges
that we face every day, but how we choose to
face them. So again, Benny Lewis says, the difference between
a stumbling block and a stepping stone is how high
you raise your foot. And you can find that quote
or share your own one that sticks out that you
want us to share here on the Toby and Chili

(05:20):
page at washfm dot com.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Love it comeing up next to here with Toby and
Chili in the morning. Should pets be able to fly
for free? I have a proposal that I feel like
most pet owners would agree with, especially after you hear
how much we spent to fly Biggie home this last trip,
your little five pound Chawawa. Yeah, wait and tea here
how much we paid. That's next Toby and Chile in
the Morning, ninety seven point one wash FM. I'm kiddo'she

(05:47):
from Good Morning Washington. Should pets be able to fly
for free? Here's why we're talking about it. We recently
took our little baby, our little choua Biggie home to Wisconsin.
It costs him Chili round trip three hundred dollars.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Wow, to fly.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Okay, that's a lot because we don't our dog is
too big to fly, you know, with us and upstairs.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Yeah, so that is a lot of money. And we
used points to get home. It actually was cheaper for
me and Kyle round trip to get home than it
was for our dog.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
This is an outrage.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Well, that's the luxury of having your pet right there
by yours, underneath.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Your seat and he's wonderful, and he goes in his bag,
and he goes in there, and he's perfectly fine and
he sleeps. However, he would be more comfortable in his
little harness sitting with us. So I am proposing, okay,
that good dogs should be able to go through a
program where they then receive a token that says I'm
a good dog, so I can sit with.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
My owner, on my owner's lap or next to my owner.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Because I think the only reason that they have these
rules in place and they have these high fees is
because of bad dogs. Oh and bad dog owners that
have ruined it for all of us good dog owners.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Okay, so they should be able to fly for free
if they earn the boy token.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Yes, uh huh, I don't know about that.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
If they're taking up any seat space, if they're in
the aisles tripping people up, that's not gonna work either.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
I propose if you have a good bird that behaves
properly and passes the proper testing, your birds should be
able to ride with you. I just think they're making
it so difficult and so expensive to fly with our pets.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
I think it is too expensive. But the free thing,
not so sure.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
How I feel about it all right. We'll keep working
on this. If there's someone that can push some legislation through,
let me know. You know how to get a hold
of me. Toby and Chilly's Top stories are coming up next,
and more music as well to get you started on

Tyler Robinson, the Suspect in It, Charlie Kirk's killing is
being held without bond in Utah. At a virtual hearing yesterday,
the twenty two year old appeared in a green bulletproof

that prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. FBI Director Cash

Charlie Kirk and Jeffrey Epstein investigations. He claimed that there
is no credible information that Epstein trafficked women to anyone
besides himself. How's Republicans pass two bills aimed at cracking
down on crime in DC, including lowering the age that
miners can be tried as adults and changing juvenile sentencing rules.

(09:10):
They're also advancing a larger fourteen bill package to address
what his administration calls a crime emergency. Fairfax County supervisors
signaled support for extending toll lanes along an eleven mile
stretch to the Beltway, saying that could really ease gridlock
and expand travel options now.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
The proposal includes new bus.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
Routes and bike paths, although critics worry about neighborhood impacts
and also limited communication with Maryland on the project and

for the twenty thirty season. Forecast today rainy sixty five,
the high right now sixty in Lantam.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
All right, I'm kiddo'she in for Toby. Coming up next.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
What kind of hugger are you? The way you hug
says a lot about you. We will share all the details.
Coming up next, Toby and Tilly in the Morning, ninety
seven point one wash FM, Good morning, It's kiddo'she in
for Toby.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
How you hug says a lot about the relationship you're
in now. It turns out, according to this study, that
romantic partners hugged much longer than platonic friends.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Well that's no surprise.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
Yeah, So lovebirds hug for like seven seconds, and then
a hug with just a friend lasts almost three seconds.
But personality plays a role in how tight you hold
on to somebody. So people who are prone to anxiety
and self doubt apparently tend to leave more distance in

(10:51):
their hug, but those who hug tighter are irresponsible and
careful people. Now, I don't know if I agree with this,
because everybody body knows that I'm an anxiety yeah, anxious person.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
Are you a tight hugger?

Speaker 8 (11:04):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (11:05):
I am?

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (11:06):
And what's interesting is I'm I get grounded when when
I hug. I love that connection with another human being.
I need hugs to sort of, you know, feel regulated.
So I'm I walk up to straight, not walk up
to strangers. But when I first meet somebody, I'll say,
is it okay? I'm a hug Are you not comfortable hugging?

Speaker 3 (11:27):
I like hugging.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
My partner has anxiety, like you know, it would be
the one where he does not. He's not a tight hugger.
I have to be like a little you know, come
on closer longer. But I feel that grounded that you're talking, yes,
when I get a hug from him.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
So your partner, is he so awkward that he just
stands there when somebody hugs him?

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Or does he he would prefer to never hug another
person ever again if he could.

Speaker 7 (11:52):
Toby and Chili's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
I think that's called an awkward hugger. All right, what
is today's question?

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Scientists say this is usually about one hundred and one degrees?

Speaker 3 (12:03):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (12:04):
We are playing for tickets to see Hanson at the
Hall at Live on October twenty sixth eight six six
nine two seven four three six one. That's eight sixty
six ninety two seven four three sixty one. What's that
question again, Chili?

Speaker 4 (12:18):
Scientists say, this is about one hundred and one degrees usually,
what are we talking about?

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Let's get you those Hanson tickets. Answer the nearly impossible
question right now. We'll have that answer for you next.

Speaker 7 (12:30):
Helly and Chili's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
We are playing for tickets to see Hanson at the
Hall at Live.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
What is today's question?

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Scientists say it's usually about one hundred and one degrees?
What is it we're talking about? Eight six six nine
two seven four three six one.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Alex and Waldorf, welcome to the show. You've got the question,
what do you think?

Speaker 3 (12:54):
The answer is, ooh, it's taking a shower. Okay, so
you think that the shower temperature is about one hundred
and five degrees.

Speaker 8 (13:05):
Well, I mean I'm in the shower of my wife.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Yes, oh, because she it hot. Yes, And I am
me normally, I am not a one hundred and five
screet person because I like my skin not melting off.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
So that's an excellent guess, Alex. And thanks to your wife.
I mean, yeah, it's the correct answer.

Speaker 7 (13:32):
Well, thank you, thank my wife.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Yeah, congratulations, you got those tickets to see Hanson at
the Hall at Live on October twenty sixth.

Speaker 8 (13:40):
My wife's a.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Hamson fan, so which I mean it's her birthday month,
so she'll be excited.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Well, that's great. We're so glad we could make that
a special night for you guys. And we'll have another

Utah Authority say a man arrested shortly after Charlie Kirk's murder,
seventy one year old George Zinn, claimed that he fired
the shot to help the real suspect escape. Meanwhile, Tyler
Robinson was later arrested and charged with aggravated murder in
the killing of the Conservative activists. A Senate hearing yesterday
with FBI Director Cash Patel got off the rails fast.

(14:54):
Ptel and Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee shouted at
one another over subjects that included the Kirk murder and
also Jeffrey Epstein investigations. At a recent Manasa School Board
town hall, parents blasted the no zero grading policy that's
part of a fifty to one hundred scale that was
adopted back in twenty twenty one for lowering performance and

(15:17):
accountability now. Board members defended it as a way to
help students recover, but critics argue that it removes lessons
in failure and also incentives to finish people finish their work.
E Bike and scooter crashes in Loudon County. They're up
about seventy percent this year, including a death which involved
a thirteen year old. Officials blame high speed use, rule

(15:40):
breaking and also inexperience, and they're urging writers to follow
safety guidelines and wear helmets. Virginia Forestry officials are asking
residents to collect and also donate acorns and nuts this
fall and then dropped them off at a local forestry office.
The acorns are going to be planted in a state
nurse with seedling sold next year to help fund its operations.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
All right, I'm kiddo'shae in for Toby. Coming up next,
What would your partner say about the way you load
the dishwasher? Wait until you hear how many couples actually
disagree on this the dishwasher dispute. We'll share next on
ninety seven point one wash FF Toby and Tilly in
the Morning, ninety seven point one wash FM. I'm KIDDOSHAE.

(16:46):
Turns out there's disputes when loading the dishwasher.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
Sixty one percent of adults have argued over the correct
way of using a dishwasher. Nearly half of actually restacked
after they disagree with someone else's tech. And also, arguments
have serious consequences because eighteen percent of people of spots
stop speaking to the person that they disagreed with. Okay,

(17:09):
that seems like a bit much. In your house with
you and your partner, do you guys argue over how
to load the dishwasher?

Speaker 3 (17:17):
Chili?

Speaker 2 (17:18):
There's no need for an argument because there's only one
person that loads the dishwasher.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
So who's that? That's me? Oh. In fact, I did
something very passive the other day.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
I was on the phone with a friend and I said, oh, Dan,
it turns out our dishwasher does work just fine.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Oh yeah, send your partners overhearing this. But doesn't matter,
It doesn't matter. What about you.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
Well, I love that my husband does the dishes since
I do the cooking. The one thing I always disagree
with him about is he doesn't pre rinse before putting
the dishes in or putting the utensils in. And I
think he should because sometimes when you go to unload it,
there's like little crusty little specks of stuff left on
there because he didn't pre rinse it.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
And he's like, well, that's what the dishwashers will exactly.
I agree with, don put it in for another round then.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
No, no waste, no, But yes, those who don't do
should just keep their mouths shut, isamus.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Or we need separate dishwashers and wash your own dishes. Okay?

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Coming up next year with Toby and Chilly in the Morning,
do your kids get an allowance? We're gonna share with
you the average price a kid is getting right now
per month for their allowances.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
It seems a bit high if you ask me.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yeah, so we want to know if you think this
is too much or too little. We'll tell you that
next on ninety seven point one wash FM. Toby and
Chilly in the Morning, ninety seven point one wash FM.
Hope your Wednesdays off to a great start. I'm kiddo'she
how much is too much when it comes to your
kid's allowance?

Speaker 4 (18:40):
Can you believe that the average child gets one hundred
and seventeen dollars a month in allowance.

Speaker 5 (18:45):
No, No, I cannot. I cannot either, and I have
an eleven year old. I did not get an allowance
growing up myself. I didn't get money for good grades.
I didn't get money for chores. I got no money.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
If I needed something, my parents would buy it if
I wanted something. That's what Christmas and the birthday was for.

Speaker 7 (19:03):
So with my own child.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
My husband and I agreed that our son can earn
money by doing chores.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
That's it. There's no like just.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
Because money an allowance money. When you were growing up,
did you get an allowance?

Speaker 3 (19:17):
No?

Speaker 2 (19:17):
And I was thinking about that. I'm like all my
friends that had allowances. They were all the rich kids.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
And like we did.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
I don't think my parents had money to give us
an allowance. I think that was part of it. But
to your same point, if we needed something, we got something.
It was like in that sense, But do you have
a limit on what Donado can make on chores? Could
he make up to one hundred and seventeen dollars on chores?
We don't pay a whole.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
Lot on chores.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
We're talking fifty cents here, a dollar there, but he'd
have to go really overboard to make that much money.
But it teaches him responsibility and that money just doesn't
come for free or for nothing. That's what our point is.
But if you do give your child an allowance, or
if you got an allowance, we would love to know
what amount do you think is about?

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Right? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (19:58):
Eight sixty six nine two seven four three six one

was a kid. I didn't get an allowance when I
was growing up. But we are giving our son some
money for chores, okay, okay, so we don't really do
the allowance thing at home.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Well, I want to go to Tricia in Gaineshill, who
called in at eight sixty six nine two seven four
three six one.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
You have a bit of a formula when it comes
to giving allowances.

Speaker 8 (24:00):
All the some I heard and actually like is one
dollar per week for every year of age. So like
a ten year old gets ten dollars a week and
gets scales, you know, teaches budgeting and feels fare All right.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Chill, thank you for a call. Chili Donado's how old?
He's eleven?

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Okay, so eleven dollars a week is not gonna have
That's still too much. Let's go to Brad in BETHESAG
and the average kid is getting one hundred and seventeen
dollars a month.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Brad, what are you saying is a good price? I
think twenty dollars per week is good enough. That should
be enough for a kid to have fun with. If
my son needs something, you know, that's not going to
count towards his allowance. The allowance is for trivial fun purchases.

Speaker 4 (24:42):
Dang, you are a generous dad there, Brian. It's like
eighty bucks a month. Yeah, I would take that in
a hard pitch. Yeah, chores need to be done here.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
No, there's not even chores involved.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
