Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
one Wash Them.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Good morning, It's Toby and Chili in the Morning on
ninety seven point one Wash FM.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
I'm kiddoshe did you just.
Speaker 4 (00:11):
Have a very nutritious breakfast over there?
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Well, if you're on your way to work and you're like,
what am I going to have for breakfast today?
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Don't have what I had, which was a bag of gushers.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
Which is like gummies.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah, it's like fruit snacks for kids that go in
like children's lunches. But here at the break room at
iHeartRadio here in Rockville, they have like baskets of treats
when you go get your coffee and yeah, the gushers.
The treats change as well. It's not like there always
are gushers there.
Speaker 5 (00:39):
No, that is one nice little perk here at the
radio station. They purchase different snacks. Yeah, However, the healthier snacks,
like the protein bars, and they go very quickly, so
the gushers are usually the last ones or stuff like that,
or the last ones to go.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
So when you went in there.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
That's all I saw was the gushers. I didn't see
protein bars. I didn't even if I did, I would
have gone right for the gushers.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
That's what I was gonna say.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
Yes, let's be honest, you still would have gone for
the gushers.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Halfway through, I realized this was a mistake, that this
is the first thing I'm eating at four o'clock in
the morning.
Speaker 5 (01:14):
Mistakes for some people. You know, it's like a continuation
of last night.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
We'll see true, We'll see how things go after my
gusher's breakfast. I do have my cup of coffee here.
We're off to a good start of a Friday morning.
Top Stories are coming up next.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
Yeah, in case you haven't heard, former FBI director James
Comy has been indicted. We've got more of that story
coming up, as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues
on ninety seven point one wash FF Top Stories, Top
of the Hour, Top Stories presented by Celsius Energy Drinks.
Former FBI director James Comy has been indicted. He's been
(01:52):
charged with making one count of false statements and one
count of obstruction of justice related to his refational testimony
about the twenty sixteen election investigation.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
TikTok will continue to.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
Operate in the US. President Trump signed an executive order
yesterday to approve a deal that allows a Chinese company
to sell the social media platform to a group of
American investors. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has reportedly ordered hundreds
of US admirals and generals from around the world to
head to Quantico for a meeting. The reason for this
(02:29):
meeting is unclear. A Montgomery County woman says that she
was drugged and kidnapped while visiting Tunisia. She claimed that
she woke up in the back of a car after
going to her hotel lobby, and she managed to escape
despite being badly beaten, and then later contacted the US
Embassy after hotel staff denied seeing her. DC's popular outdoor
(02:51):
dining setup that's known as the Temporary Streetery program is
coming to an end this November. The city's new permanent
program it comes with much higher fees and extra cost,
which is going to make it too expensive for a
lot of restaurants to keep their outdoor seating. And Fall
apparently is the most dangerous season to drive in Maryland
(03:13):
and Virginia, with more crashes and deaths reported than any
other time of the year. Experts say factors like wet
leaves earlier, Darkness and busy holiday traffic all contribute to
the increased risks on the road during autumn.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Forecast.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
Today it's going to be partly cloudy, skies later with
highs around eighty Right now sixty six in Ashburn.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
All right, Chilli, thanks a lot. Coming up next, we're
going to get to your morning mindset. A little quote
to get us in the right mood and get us
ready for our Best of the Eighties weekend. That's all
coming up next. Great nineties throwback from Ace of Base.
Good morning, It's Toby and Chili in the morning. I'm
kiddoshe on ninety seven point one Wash FM on a
Friday morning. Time for our morning mindset.
Speaker 5 (03:52):
And because it's a Friday, and because we kick off
our Best of the Eighties weekend every Friday at five pm.
This is a lyric from the nineteen eighty hit Fame
by Irene Kara. She says in that song, I'm gonna
live forever, I'm gonna learn how to fly. It is
a call to believe in yourself and to aim high.
It's about refusing to be held back by any fear
(04:14):
or doubt. So I want you to think about your dreams.
Maybe it's starting a business or mastering a skill, or
making a difference in your community. You have the power
to learn how to fly by taking risks and pushing
past your limits, and by doing that, you're creating something lasting.
So you'll live forever through the impact that you make.
So don't just dream, go after it with everything you've got.
(04:38):
Irene Kara in the song Fame says I'm gonna live forever.
I'm gonna learn how to fly. And you can find
that quote or share your own on the Toby and
Chili page at waschfm dot com.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Love it Coming up next, It is one of the
most controversial topics in DC and it has nothing to
do with politics. You either love them or you hate them,
and we may be talking about them for a very
long time to come. We'll share that story with you.
Coming up next, Toby and Chilly in the Morning ninety
seven point one wash FM. I'm kiddo, Shay, and.
Speaker 5 (05:10):
We've got some big news. If you love to travel
out of Dallas Airport. Are you ready for this? Those
people movers, the mobile lounges, they're going to be around
for another twenty years.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Chili, Yes, this is the worst news you could ever
deliver to me.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Why do you hate I.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Don't think there's anything I dislike more in Washington, d C.
Really in all of Washington, d C in the region
than the people movers.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
What do you have against them? Why do you hate
them so much?
Speaker 6 (05:42):
Well?
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Why would anyone want to get off a flight that
you've been packed on for hours with hundreds of strangers
just to get packed into a smaller vessel with complete
strangers and be forced to wait until that's completely filled
up and then be transported to your next terminal. Okay,
you don't have the freedom to move by yourself. Oh
my goodness, you're at the liberty of somebody else.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
Okay, some airports have trains. You're doing the same thing
there too. You're getting into another vessel of some sort
and coming back to the terminal.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
But if I want to go stop at the restaurant
or the store or the bathroom, I can.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
I have to wait and sit after I've been waiting
and sitting to get home. Why do you like them?
Speaker 5 (06:20):
Because it's nostalgic for me growing up, anytime we traveled
out of Dallas Airport as a kid, I would cross
my fingers and hope we were leaving from a concourse
where we would be on a people mover, because it
always gave the vibe of backstage, like being on the
uh tarmac and seeing the planes it has, you know,
(06:40):
like a Disney tour. It was like this cool experience.
And even now in as an adult, I get to the
airport like waarily, so it just kills time to be
like riding around on a mobile lounge right up to
the I mean, that's a cool experience. You're right there
on the runway.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
You know.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
I didn't ever think about it that way, and I
didn't think that anyone would ever be able to convince
me that these are the dumbest things in the world.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
But maybe they are the coolest things in the world.
Oh we are. Maybe I need to get out.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Maybe you're right. I didn't think you'd be able to
change my mind, but I think you actually have no
other airport in the world.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Can you do that? And it is pretty cool?
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Thank you?
Speaker 7 (07:22):
All right?
Speaker 3 (07:22):
I'm pro people movers. How did this happen?
Speaker 4 (07:25):
I rest my kids.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Top stories are coming up next, plus more music for
your Friday morning, and if you feel strongly about the
people movers at Dulls International Airport, which I'm sure you do.

Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted yesterday for making

denied the chargers and expressed faith in the federal justice system.
President Trump announced new tariffs effective October first, which will

cabinets and bathroom vanities, and thirty percent on upholstered furniture.
Three men have been arrested in Fairfax County in connection
to a September seventeenth burglary in Kingstown, where about thirty
thousand dollars in property was stolen. Authorities believe the suspects

may be tied to an East Coast burglary ring. The

on education, health, finance, and entrepreneurship, and according to a
recent survey, toilet cleaning and taking up the trash are
seen as the most thankless chores, with thirty one percent

seventy seven percent of homes, one person usually handles most tasks,
and many who avoid chores admit they.

Forecasts Board today partly cloudy, skuis Hi's are going to

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Can you forward me that study so I can afford
that to my partner. I'm kiddosche and for Toby coming
up next, it's over a month away, but already as
some people really stressed out, including Chili. What could be
stressing her out about Halloween? She may not be alone.
We'll share that with you next. We have a ton
of eighties music just like that for you this weekend
(10:41):
on our Best of the Eighties Weekend with Toby and
Chili in the morning on ninety seven point one Wash FM,
I'm kidd o'she This year's list of top Halloween costumes
is out and it's stressing Chili out.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Well.
Speaker 5 (10:51):
The number one on their list is characters from the
Netflix hit K Pop Demon Hunters, and it's followed by
Glinda and Alphaba inspired costumes from Wick. Those are all
more female friendly, right, Kpop Demon Hunters and the Wicked cast.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
So what's stressing you out?
Speaker 4 (11:06):
My eleven year old almost twelve year old.
Speaker 5 (11:08):
He will be twelve for Halloween by Halloween, and he
never can figure out what he wants to be for Halloween, right,
you know, he's not into the superheroes. He's really not
into anything Marvel, anything related to like all that stuff.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
And last few.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
Years he's chosen some goofy inflatable costume. Okay, easy, yes,
you just he looks like he's taking off in a
rocket in one of them. The other one he was
sitting on a toilet. It was like goofy. But he
still can't tell us what he wants to be. And
this matters because we have to make sure it's available,
that we can order it, that it gets to.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
Us in time, that it fits him.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
Okay, because if he doesn't, you still need to make
sure you have time to return it.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
It's just uh and worst case scenario, you don't get
a costume in time. Are you the kind of mother
that would maybe consider making his costume or putting something
together for him?
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Have you met me? When have I di wied anything
in my life?
Speaker 8 (12:08):
Toby and Chili's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
I had a feeling that was going to be the answer.
What is today's question?
Speaker 5 (12:14):
The first known one of these carried a sheep, a duck,
and a rooster.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
This was back in seventeen eighty three. Get googling, Oh,
why was it?
Speaker 2 (12:24):

Speaker 4 (13:14):
You've got the question, what do you think the answer is.
Speaker 9 (13:17):
I'm gonna say the first hot air balloon ride.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
You sound very confident. Did you look that up?
Speaker 5 (13:23):
Gooble all the way, baby, you're being very resourceful with
that Google.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (13:28):

on kiddoshe with Toby and Chilly in the Morning on
ninety seven point one wash FM. I hope your Friday's
up to a great start. It's Toby and Chilly in
the Morning on ninety seven point one wash FM. I'm
Shay are you working harder than your younger coworkers? And
(15:03):
who's getting the job done better? Here's why we're talking
about it.
Speaker 5 (15:06):
There's a new report that came out in Newsweek and
it said that while older workers tend to put in
more hours than the younger ones, it's the younger employees
they're getting more done in the same amount of time.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Interesting, It is interesting.
Speaker 5 (15:22):
And I feel like, even though we feel very young,
we might be considered older workers when we compare ourselves
to the young'ins that work in our promotions department in
their early twenties.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Can we just say seasoned professionals? I like to say that, Yes.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
I mean, can you think of an example where this
is true where you work?
Speaker 4 (15:41):
At ABC seven?
Speaker 3 (15:42):
It happened this week.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Our producer Rock Sam was like making a social media
video and she's like, Hey, I need you guys do this,
this and this, And we're like okay, and I'm thinking, Oh,
she's gonna send this in a couple of hours or something.
Within the commercial break, she had the social media posted
on social media. Yes, and it got more views than
any video that I ever post.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
It takes you.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Long, and she just did it so quickly. I'm like
I would say, I would have Yeah, what about you?
Speaker 5 (16:06):
I can't think of anything specific, but it's always related
to technology. I don't even know half the apps that
are available to us, but the twenty somethings would already know,
and they're very fluent in in doing it and being
efficient on it.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
So I can see how that's the case.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Eight six six, nine two seven four three six one.
We say good morning to Gary in Lorton. Welcome to
the conversation.
Speaker 7 (16:29):
Hey, so I've been an admin assistant for my gosh
about thirty years now, and I still do things the
old school way.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
What do you mean by that?
Speaker 7 (16:38):
Well, you know, calling people, sending out invites one by one,
taking notes by hand.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
That's pretty common, I think, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (16:45):
But then one of the younger guys in the office
he set up this automated scheduling and get this, he
uses AI to transcribe meetings in real time.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Yeah, so he's getting the job done quicker.
Speaker 7 (16:56):
We exactly right, Like, by the time it's over, he
already has a Polish summery ready to send out. Meanwhile,
I'm still sitting over here typing mine up from scratch.
The whole different game now.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Oh it sure?
Speaker 3 (17:08):
What do they say?
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Work smart or not hard?
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Yeah, we're going to continue this conversation. We'd love for
you to join in eight sixty six, ninety two, seven
four three sixty one. Maybe use some examples in your workplace,
or you can also leave us a talkback message. New technology,
open up the iHeartRadio app, save ninety seven point one
wash FM as a preset, and then use that red
microphone to leave us the message that comes directly here
to the studio.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
And we're going to get to that in just a
little bit.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
But first we're going to get you up to speed
on all the news headlines with Toby and Chili's top
stories on ninety seven point one wash FM.
Speaker 2 (17:40):

indicted on charges of making false statements and obstruction of justice.
In a video posted online yesterday, he defended himself and
said his family will not live on their knees. The
charges stem from his congressional testimony about the twenty sixteen

to seek the death penalty in all eligible aggravated cases,
despite DC banning capital punishment in nineteen eighty one. The

to pursue it under federal law. Three men have been

We told you earlier about a Newsweek article that says
younger workers are working less and getting better results. So
we wanted to know if you've noticed this in your office.
Rebecca lives in Columbia. She's standing by to join the conversation.
She's going to share why. She says, yes, this is true,
but there's something that she has that younger coworkers don't.
We'll share that with you next. Toby and Chilly in
(20:28):
the morning ninety seven point one wash FM, I'm kiddo'shay,
are you working harder than your younger coworkers?
Speaker 5 (20:35):
Eight sixty six nine two seven four three six one Earlier,
we were talking about a report in Newsweek that said
older workers tend to put in more hours than the
younger ones, but it's the younger employees that are getting
more done in the same amount of time, and we
wanted to hear some examples of how this may be
true where you work.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
Rebecca in Colombia, tell us your story.
Speaker 10 (20:56):
I'm a nurse in my early sixties and I've always
done chalking the old fashion way. How so, you know,
manually typing everything and at the end of my shift.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Okay, so a lot of work at the end of
the day.
Speaker 9 (21:07):
Yeah, it thanks forever.
Speaker 10 (21:09):
So the other day, one of the younger mess sherves
me how she does it, and she's using voice to
text on the tablet that she does.
Speaker 9 (21:16):
So she just talks along as she does it, and
then at the end of the ship she finished, while
I'm still sitting there for forty five minutes to an
hour just catching up.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
Oh so you agree with the article.
Speaker 6 (21:30):
However, I bring decades of experience. I've trained dozens of
nurses over the years, and I can spot subtle changes
and patients before machines and monitors catch them. So we
learn from each other and that makes us a stronger team.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
I love that perspective because no one generation is necessarily
better than the other.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
We each bring something to the table.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
Great point. Thank you so much for calling Rebecca. Have

and you'll hear songs like this Father Figure George Michael.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
It's one of my favorites.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
It's all about bringing back those great memories and just
going back to an easier time in life. Father Figure
nineteen eighty seven from George Michael on ninety seven point
one wash FM. All right, that's song putting us in
weekend mode on ninety seven point one wash FM with
Toby and Chile. In the morning, I'm kiddo'she time for
our morning mindset.
Speaker 5 (22:53):
Oh yeah, and again inspired by our best of the
eighties weekend which starts at five o'clock today with Sabrina Kanti.
It's from Irene Kara's nineteen eighty hit Fame. In it,
she says, I'm gonna live forever, I'm gonna learn how
to fly. It really is a call to believe in
yourself and to aim high, don't be held back by
(23:14):
your fear or doubt, and that.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Is easier said than done. So have a great weekend.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
