be the Texans, but it's actually the team that used
to be the Houston Oilers, which they're now the Tennessee Titans.
But bottom line is the Eagles one, and that's a
divisional matchup. And congratulations, Cal I've got to say about that.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
I know that you were really prepping and studying and
looking forward to your Fantasy Football League draft.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Yes, well, since the season got started last night, I
just wanted to say that I don't know that I
really want to talk about the draft.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
What happened?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Well, Chili, there are many facets to that issue.
Speaker 5 (05:41):
Oh God, what did you do?
Speaker 2 (05:44):
I'll tell you in a few Stay with Toby and
Chile in the morning. Ninety seven point one WASHEFM Toby
and Chile in the Morning. Now, for the seven plus
years we've worked together, Chile, I think you know that
I love fantasy football season.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
And I also know you do a lot of homework
and a lot of prepping and get very excited for
the draft.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Yes, and then last night happened what I kind of
not kind of I overslept the draft.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
So you didn't get you don't have a team at all.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
No, I have a team. I got by with auto picks.
But by the time I woke up remembered my past
we'reing logged in, I was already in round three.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Okay, So auto picks, I guess, is like when you
go to buy a lottery ticket, you can either choose
your own numbers or you have the machine do it
for you. So because you were not actively choosing your
own players, they chose players for you.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
And they chose Okay. I mean, I'm excited that I
got Saquon Barkley. Okay, but Barkley is a running back
for the for the Philadelphia Eagles, and he's really good.
But other than Saquon, I couldn't tell you what the
other football players are doing, capable of what they've done
(07:06):
in the past, how they're scheduled to perform. I'm kind
of screwed.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Aside for hold On now you don't know that I
told you about the analogy of the lottery ticket. There
are plenty of people who win big on auto pick,
and you do not know how the season's gonna go.
Star players get injured, Toby, other players shine when they
weren't expected to shine. You could be a dark horse
(07:33):
and all this and your auto pick team can go
all the way.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
It could go all the way, or I could trade
some of these people and then still have a pretty
decent sy.
Speaker 5 (07:43):
Okay, so I'm right, then, why are you being so.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
You know goods? I didn't get the chance to do
everything I'd prepared for.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
You gotta set that alarm, I know, and next season
I will.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Next season I will, or you.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
Can just do another team, can't you.

the line on military involvement in local law enforcement.
Speaker 6 (09:27):
Now.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
The President is also rebranding the Pentagon, signing an executive
order allowing the Department of Defense to once again use
its historic name, the Department of War. A full name
change would still require congressional approval. Health Secretary Robert F.
Kennedy Junior faced sharp questioning yesterday on Capitol Hill. Lawmakers
(09:49):
challenged his vaccine policies, recent firings at the CDC, and
his handling of public health at the White House. Demolition
one can move forward on the President's proposed two hundred

Speaker 2 (10:55):
That's the news. Toby and Chile's top stories here at
ninety seven point one was CHEFM. It is Friday, we're
getting into the weekend. You might want to try to
make a reservation at this new DC restaurant. It's opening today.
And why is this new restaurant that opens today very
unique because they make you lock up your cell phones.
(11:18):
That's right, They put them in a bag and you
get no cell phones when you dine at this restaurant.
We'll tell you more about it, and of course we
always love when you have things to say. So eight
sixty six nine two, seven forty three sixteen one is
the number. You can also use the talk back microphone
if you want to, and you're signed into your iHeart app,
(11:40):
Tap speak send, we listen, and we'll get to all
of this and more coming up. So bey at Chilly
in the morning on ninety seven point one wash Chef
M Friday in the nation's capital. There's a new DC
restaurant opening today. You might want to go to, especially
because it makes you your cell phones. You heard me right,
(12:03):
It's a restaurant that makes you lock up your cell phones.
Eight sixty six ninety two seven forty three sixty one
is the number if you've got some thoughts on locking
up your cell phone at this new DC restaurant.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
It's Hush Harper, and the chef Rock Harper says that
guests are going to be required to store their phones
in one of those magnetic pouches which you can take
to your table. So you're allowed to take that pouch
to your table with your phone in it, and the
only way to get it out is to go to
the hostess and have them unlock it for you if
you ever needed it. And of course this is obviously
(12:39):
to encourage people to talk at the table with each
other and not be looking down at their phones to
be social. And he has the same policy for his staffs.
A it's a no phone policy for the folks who
work at the restaurant. How comfortable are you with putting
your phone in a pouch at a rest.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
I'd be fine with it. I think that we don't
have enough human communication. And I think that you know,
whether you're with friends or you're with someone you're seeing
in a relationship, you shouldn't have a problem giving your
phone up so that you can have a real conversation
with somebody. But that's just me, and I also understand
(13:16):
that there are reasons why people want to have their
phone with them. It's just not my cup of tea.
This restaurant sounds great to me.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
Oh, very nice rhyme.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
So I'm okay with it if my child and husband
are with me, because okay, those are the people that
I care about the most.
Speaker 5 (13:34):
If I'm on a date night, hmm.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
I really like having the quick access to the phone
in case the sitter calls, and I know, if it
vibrates through the pouch by the time I get to
the hostess, get it unlocked, call back. I don't know
something that have gone sideways, and that's just my anxiety talking.
Speaker 6 (13:51):
You know.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
It's not like I'm scrolling at the table looking at
you know, TikTok or anything like that. But yeah, there's
a good reason for this, and I totally agree with you, Toby.
I think we need to spend more time actually socializing.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Because it's a bad thing to sit there and just
scroll through your phone. Now, oh I'm looking at stuff.
I have to be connected. No, no, you don't enjoy
the dinner, yeah, man, and enjoy the company.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
Toby and Chili's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Dan, The question today is the average person spends one
hundred hours a year doing what?
Speaker 5 (14:27):
And I'll tell you it's not scrolling on your phone.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
So if you want to see Maroon five, thanks to
Live Nation, we've got tickets. Here's the question again.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
The average person spends one hundred hours a year doing this?
Speaker 5 (14:41):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Eight sixty six ninety two seven forty three sixty one

you can answer that question, call us now and when

Speaker 2 (15:01):
All right, Chillie, what's the question again? For those who
might have missed.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
It, the average person spends one hundred hours a year
doing this?
Speaker 5 (15:09):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (15:10):
All right? In DC? Corey, not Calhoun, but Corey. Hello, welcome?
How are you?
Speaker 6 (15:16):
I'm doing fine? How much yourself?
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Good? Thank you for asking? Ready for the weekend? You've
got the question for the tickets to see Maroon of five?
What's your guest?
Speaker 6 (15:28):
I'm going to say something I'm about to do in
about fifteen minutes drives back and forth to work eight ooh,
how long does.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
It take you, Corey to do that commute?
Speaker 6 (15:39):
I lived in DC. I work in Tyson's Corner like
in Danas, so it takes about an hour about alltiz
minutes one way.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
One way.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Yes, you know. When I moved into town, my boss
told me, he goes, well, I go, how long until
I'm at the new place where I'm going to be working?
And he goes as well, that depends. It could either
take you twenty minutes or two hours. Yeah, and boy,
it was on the side of two hours. I was
like this, this thing's now.
Speaker 6 (16:09):
You know.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
The bad news, Corey is that you have to spend
so many hours in traffic for going to work. But
the good news is, yeah, that is the right answer.
The average person spends one hundred hours a year communting.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
That means you're going to spend some time in traffic
going to see Maroon five. Congratulations, thank you, thank you
so much. I don't mind that, no, and thanks to
Live Nation, these tickets are yours.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
They're going to come to CFG Bank Arena November twenty

for the day. Get to know Memphis Gold. Memphis Gold
is not just a blues guitarist. He has lived the
(20:18):
music that he plays.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
He's a Vietnam veteran, who served fourteen years in the Navy,
and he knows hardship firsthand because after he returned home,
he faced a battle a lot of folks don't see.
Between nineteen ninety one and ninety five, he was actually
homeless on the streets of DC.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Now, during those years, every day was a test of survival,
finding food, a place to bathe, clean clothes, shelter. It
was a constant struggle, and Gold quietly maintained his pride.
He did whatever he could do to stay presentable while
navigating life on the streets. And he also carried the
(20:52):
invisible wounds of war, including post traumatic stress, which made
rebuilding his life even more challenge.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
But you know what he did rebuild.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
He has a stable home now, he's got a supportive family,
and he decided to turn his experience into a mission
to help other people. So he founded Building Bridges America.
It's a nonprofit that's dedicated to supporting homeless and disabled veterans,
and his organization hosts events, including a very special concert
it's taking place the Warner Theater in DC tomorrow, where
(21:24):
they're going to bring a bunch of blues musicians in
the community together to raise awareness and help for those
in need.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Now, for Memphis Gold, the Blues has always been more
than just music. It is a way of life. While
he was on the streets, it gave him an intimate
understanding of what it means to struggle, resilience, the power
of hope, and today he uses all of these experiences
to help others find their footing and their owners sense
(21:52):
of possibility.
Speaker 3 (21:53):

On the way to school.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
But you know, I think the stressful part may very
child to child, like with my eleven year old. Thankfully
I'm not at home when he's getting ready for school.
But my husband says, it's the breakfast part. He takes
forever to finish his breakfast, which then delays the shoes

maybe I should have cracked the whip a little bit
harder on getting her ready to go.
Speaker 5 (23:42):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
Eleven percent say they'd rather be on hold on the
