Toby and Chili Mornings on demand on ninety seven point
one them.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Are you feeling good this morning? We're Toby and Chilly
in the Morning. It's ninety seven point one wash FM
on this Tuesday, the twenty fifth January, February March, twenty
fifth day of March. Can you believe we're staring down
April already? Wow? The months the year is flying by,
so chilly? Why are you feeling good this morning?
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Well, let's stick with the spring theme. Then got a
call confirming for sure that my son is off a
wait list for spring break a camp. A spring break camp.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Little things like that are big deals, especially when you're
a parent and you don't like being on the wait
list no.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
And especially if you don't want your kid to just
be sitting in front of the TV or tablet for
you know, ten days.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Wow. True, I'd rather have.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
N't been in a camp. So it's very good news.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Yes, yes, that's good stuff. So congratulations to you and
to your son who have things to do for spring break.
Now that should be very exciting for me. It's a
simple little thing this morning. For me, it's just the
fact that I got up this morning and I don't
have to wear these compression wraps on my legs, these
compression casts. I actually am wearing like stocking type socks
(01:18):
for the first time, and it seems like months you yesterday,
I know, and it's you know what, it's glorious this morning.
I will say that it's a process and I'm gonna
have to adjust myself while I get used to properly
putting these stocking socks garments they call them on. But
it's just it is so cool to be actually wearing
like normal shoes for the first time and forever instead
(01:41):
of those boots that were just too big. So, you
know what, little things. And to Sam and to the
people at Shady Grove Adventist and the Lymphidema Clinic, thank
you for everything you've that you continue to do for
me to help me get back to good. It's little things,
step by step. But if you can't celebrate those, what
can you say celebrate? You know, So find something to
(02:02):
feel good about this morning. Hopefully you've got something, and
if you do, feel free to tell us all about
it so we can share in your joy. At eight six, six,
nine two, seven forty three sixty one, Now we got
the news we got to get to coming up in
just a few minutes. Top Stories at the top of
the hour. What are you working on?
Speaker 3 (02:17):
The White House looking to how the Atlantics editor ended
up being included in a group text about airstrikes in Yemen.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Well stay there for the latest, ladies and gentlemen, and
good morning.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Top Stories top of the app.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Top Stories presented by Celsius Energy Drinks. The White House
is now looking into how the Atlantics editor ended up
being included in a Trump administration group text about airstrikes
in Yemen. Jeffrey Goldberg said he was included on a
chain on the encrypted messaging app signal that also appeared
to include Vice President Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseeth,
(02:54):
among others. And Appeals Court is set to decide whether
the Trump administration can continue deporting immigrants with the Alien
Enemies Act. The Whinehouse has maintained it can use the
eighteenth century wartime law to deport alleged Venezuelan gang members.
DC is ready to build a new recreation and early
(03:15):
childhood education center in the Fort Lincoln area, right at
the side of the former Thurgood Marshall School. The project
will feature a new facility with a gym, indoor track, lounges,
multipurpose rooms, and on site parking and scheduled to open
spring of twenty twenty seven. Residents of DC and Arlington
may notice a slight hint of chlorine in their water
(03:36):
over the next few weeks, but that's okay. It's still
drinkable DC water. In Arlington Waters started flushing water lines
connected to the Washington Aqueduct yesterday and the cleaning should
be done in early May. And the University of Maryland
women's basketball team also advanced to the Sweet sixteen yesterday
with a one eleven to one o eight win over Alabama,
(03:57):
so they'll next play top seeded South Carolina in the
next round. Forecast today partly sunny, sixty five, the high
right now forty eight in Springfield.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
We're always thinking about you, and coming up in just minutes,
we've got a few words from someone that might just
inspire you no matter what you're facing today. All right,
you might not want to get out of bed, or
maybe you're feeling that whole like early morning five o'clock
kind of blah that you might have heard us talking
about yesterday. Well, maybe we can help you get through
it with your morning mindset, words to inspire and all
(04:28):
about you coming up in just minutes with Toby and
Chilly in the morning. If you weren't listening, we couldn't
be here. And that's one of the reasons why your
morning mindset is so important. We think maybe it might
just help you get through whatever you're facing as we
get into a brand new day, and sometimes it's not easy.
Toby and Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven point
one wasch FM. But maybe this could help you.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
So we try to find a quote to get you
into a better headspace as you start a new day
this morning.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
It's from Sir Richard Branson. Perhaps maybe you've heard of him.
He knows a few things about things, very successful at them.
He said, you don't learn to walk by following rules.
You learn by doing and by falling over. You don't
learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing
and by falling over. You know, failure is not the
(05:14):
opposite of success. I don't know if you need to
hear this, or maybe you do this morning, but failure
is not the opposite of success. It is a part
of the journey. Too often we don't take the journey
because we're afraid to fail. But don't be afraid to fail,
be afraid of never trying. Instead, show up today, get
messy and grow. You don't learn to walk, says Sir
(05:37):
Richard Branson by following rules. You learn by doing and
by falling over. So go ahead, fall and see how
much you grow. Hopefully that helps you. If it did,
maybe it'll help somebody who needs it too. You can
find it. Tell me a chilipage at washfm dot com.
If you don't see it, just hit me with an
email and I'll shoot you a video and send it
to you. Why, because you are that important. Thank you
(05:59):
for letting us be a part of your life. Today.
It is Toby and Chilly in the morning here at
ninety seven point one wash CHEFM and in just a
few minutes Chilli.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Last week the big story were the astronauts who finally
came back to Earth after being up in space nine months.
And we were talking about this off the air, like, what,
what's the first thing you think you would do after
being away for so long? Obviously after hugging your family and.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
What well, sure, yeah, make the phone call to the family.
But then don't bother me because fill in the blank. Yes,
eight six six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
If you want to get in on that conversation, we'll
have it in just a few minutes. But you could
feel free to call us right now because we love
listening to what you have to say. Here at Toby
and Chilly in the morning eight sixty six wash CHEFM,
the number one. That's eight sixty six ninety two, seven
(06:41):
forty three sixty one. Bone lines are now open. Operators
are standing by because we would love to know if
you were stranded in space for nine months, where's the
first place you're going when you get back from space.
This is what happened to a couple of astronauts. If
you've been watching the.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
News, Sonny Williams and Butch Wilmore finally got back to
Earth last week, and one of the things we all
noticed was how physically different they looked being up there.
Like Sonny had black hair when she went up and
gray hair when she came back. That's exactly what it
would be for me, Toby.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Well, they weren't expecting Sonny, so they didn't pack any
hair care products, no dye, no nothing.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
The first place I would go, I would make an
appointment with my hair stylist to be like, please give
me a haircut and get my rootspace.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
That Cameron put that camera on me to my husband,
I miss you, but I'm not gonna be the first
call I make. I'm calling my stylist. What about you
take me to a Mexican restaurant and leave me alone
for five hours. Don't come say anything to me, Just
just let me go do my thing, because I'm going
to have all of the Tomali's and all of the
enchiladas and maybe some margarita's. I've been gone for nine months.
I've earned this eight sixty six wash FM, the number one.
(07:46):
That's eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty
one talkbacks wide open too. If you were stranded in
space for nine months and then you came home, first
place you're going is Leslie will start with you, Good
morning Fairfax.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Thus I was stuck in space for nine months. The
first place I would probably go, because I'm assuming I'm single,
is Vegas, because I'm going to be surrounded by a
bunch of people and there's going to be a whole
bunch of stuff going on.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Unmentionable things going on.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Yes, if this space capsule is a rockin, don't come
and knock in.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Hey, what happens in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Stays in Vegas or space in Leslie's case, Leslie, thanks
for giving us a call this morning. That's very interesting.
We'll know what to expect next time you get stranded
in orbit. Now over here, Mikayla, good morning, Thanks for listening.
In Rockville.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Oh, I'm going to my mom's house and I am
eating all the food. It's just going to make her
make everything she's ever made and eat all the food,
hang out with the fan.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
That's what I would do, because noth indeeds mama's cooking.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeah, because it's probably not freeze dried coming out of
a toothpaste tube. Yum. Thank you, Michayla. Now, Samantha, good
morning in Waldorf. Stuck in space you get home? Where
are you going?
Speaker 1 (09:01):
I'm gonna go with Starbucks.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
I know it's not a place to eat, but I
think I would want really good coffee.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Samantha wants really good coffee.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
So she's picking Starbucks.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Well, she was in space stars. I mean, okay, we're
reaching Toby and Chilly in the morning at eight sixty six,
nine two seven forty three sixty one. You're stuck in
space for like nine months. You come home. Where are
you going? First? Tap the talk back microphone and give
us call. Feel free to tell us we always love
hearing from you, and stay there. The news is on
the way in minutes. Top stories at the top of
(09:32):
the hour.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
Top Stories top of the hour.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
The editor of The Atlantic is going into detail about
an accidental text from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that included
key details of a plan to bomb Pothy targets. Jeffrey
Goldberg said that he was included on that text chain
on the encrypted messaging app Signal. President Trump is asking
the Supreme Court to block in order forcing the government
(09:59):
to rehire fired federal workers. This after a federal judge
had ordered the White House to reinstate more than sixteen
thousand probationary employees after ruling that their firings were likely unlawful.
Virginia Governor Youngkin just sent over two hundred budget amendments
to the General Assembly. He says he's on board with
tax rebates for Virginians and also bonuses for teachers and
(10:21):
state employees, but he's also pushing for twenty five million
dollars to fund scholarships for low income families to attend
private schools. If you're in DC or Arlington, you might
notice a slight chlorine smell in your water over the
next few weeks. DC Water and Arlington Water they're flushing
out the lines as part of their annual cleaning. But
don't worry. The water is still safe to drink and
(10:42):
it should be wrapped up by early bany And. A
new ranking of the best places to live in the
US gives the top spot to Naperville, Illinois. The cities
were ranked on factors like affordability, quality of schools, crime rates,
housing trends, walkability, employment stats, and all so access to amenities.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
Now.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Arlington, Virginia came in fourth place and Columbia, Maryland was seventh.
Forecast for today partly Sunny's guys, with highs around sixty
three right now forty seven in Hyattsville.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Two things. Number one, don't forget Dave Matthews VN tickets
with your nearly impossible question that's coming up right around
six twenty ish here at ninety seven point one. Watch
at them and next and you might have seen me
ask this on Facebook or in Still. We talked about
it on IT'STA Live a little bit yesterday. Can you
help me, maybe Chilly, understand why there is all this
(11:34):
backlash against Lizzo and against Megan Trainer. Both have been
in the news over the last couple of days because honestly,
they've done some things to transform themselves in the way
that they look, and now people are feeling all up
in their fields. Somebody's like, I thought she was all
about that base, Megan Trainers, It's not about the base anymore.
(11:54):
Why does this even matter? Why is this even a thing?
If you've got some thoughts, eight sixty six, nine ten,
seven forty three sixty one is the number. Otherwise, Chili,
I think I want to have a conversation with you
because I talk to me like I'm three years old.
I don't understand why this has become a problem. And
we'll get into it coming up with Toby and Chilly
in the Morning. Stay with us at six twenty three
(12:15):
Benson Boone Beautiful Things, Toby and Chilly in the Morning
here at ninety seven point one Wash FM. I don't
know if you've been watching the news pop culture news,
but Lizzo and Megan Trainer have been amongst the most
talked about people because they've gone through some changes.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Chili physical transformation, that's right.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Yeah, And I'm having a hard time understanding why there
are people who are critical of both of these ladies
for making the changes that they've made for them. Now,
maybe you can help me understand this.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
So both of the ladies were talking about lost weight, okay,
and they physically look very different than they did when
they first came out onto the scene, and one thing
they both had in common was that they were all
about embracing all body types. They were bigger girls. They said,
you know, size doesn't matter, love yourself, body positivity. And
now some fans are feeling disappointed, maybe even betrayed, because
(13:12):
they're saying, oh, so you have also fall into societal
pressures around thinness and look at you guys. Now you're
no longer aligned with what you were saying initially.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
And see, I can't I'm having a hard time wrapping
my head around that because I think about body positivity.
Body positivity is about embracing everyone's individual journey, no matter
where it takes them.
Speaker 5 (13:35):
Right.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
So Megan wanted to get healthy she's been open about
healthy diet, wellness, working out, and whatnot. Her decision to
improve her health Lizos too, does not invalidate any of
the empowering things that she said back then when she
might have been a bit bigger. If we're being honest
about body positivity, that's just one thing that I think.
(13:57):
I think the other thing is too, is I admire
the authenticity of these two ladies who have taken us
along with them on their journey of body positivity. You know,
they're like, hey, listen, I know you might have some opinions,
but this is what I'm doing for me and here's
how I'm doing it. Both of them have been honest
about that, and if we're true fans and supporters of
(14:20):
these women, I think we're going to embrace that. And
that's why I'm having such a hard time understanding the
other side of that, why people are very critical, you know.
But I mean, hey, you know what they say about opinions, right,
everybody has one. We're Toby and Chilly in the morning,
and maybe you've got one too. The talkback microphones wide
(14:41):
open for you if you want to tap, speak and send.
What do you think about the transformation of body positivity
with Megan Trainer and Lizzo who have dropped some weight.
Feel free to share your thoughts. We're always listening, and
now it's time to play.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Toby and Chilli's Nearly Impossible.
Speaker 2 (14:56):

Live Nation, you got the question what's your guests.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
The snooze button?
Speaker 3 (16:15):
Are you somebody who hits it often?
Speaker 5 (16:17):
No?
Speaker 4 (16:17):
I actually don't use an alarm I get I wake
up two thirty every morning.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
On my own.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Can you tell us how you do that? Because if
I don't have at least five or six snoozees set,
then it's all but lost for me. I just always
have gotten up at two thirty in the morning.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
Wow, I've want to cry for you. That's so sad.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Well, wow, No, there's something to be said because we
got to get up that early in the morning. If
we didn't have to have an alarm clock that'd be Nirvana.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
I cry for myself too, don't get it twisted.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Oh okay, Mary, you're making us cry this morning because
you're so good at getting up without an alarm clock.
The snooze button is the right answer.
Speaker 5 (16:52):
Yes, yes, yes, my husband will be so excited.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Well, tell him not to snooze, tell him to set
an alarm and not to hit the snooze button because
you I want to miss Dave Matthews at meriwa a
Post pavilion. Thanks to Live Nation.
Speaker 5 (17:03):

to what station that just gave you these tickets to
see Dave.

February twenty second. DC and Arlington residents, you may catch
a hint of chlorine in your water over the next
few weeks. It is just DC Water and Arlington Water
flushing the system for their annual cleaning. But you don't
have to worry. The water is still safe to drink
and the process should be finished by early May. The

Tell all your friends you get your top stories at
the top of the hour when you wake up with
Toby and Chilly in the morning. You're on ninety seven
point one. Was Chef M coming up in just a
few minutes. Our producer Taylor SHA's going to join us
because she says there are too many water eaters to
choose from. And it got us thinking, and maybe you
might have something to say about this, And if you do,
feel free to call us. What's an adult problem that
(19:27):
no one warned you about? The numbers eight sixty six
wash Chef M one eight six six nine two seven
forty three sixty one talkback is wide open for you.
Speaker 5 (19:36):
Two.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
If you're signed into your iHeart app listening to us,
you can tap speak and said let us he let
us know your thoughts. An adult problem nobody warned you
about eeny meenie miney mo which water heaters got to go?
Producer Taylor Sha joins us, we'll get into this next
stay right there. The question this morning is what's the
adult problem? Nobody warned you about bringing it up? Because
(19:59):
producer Taylor Sha came in here to us. I'm Toby
Nap along with Chiliamar. Thanks for finding us. At ninety
seven point one watch FM Toby and Chilly in the morning,
and she was upset about something. Why don't you tell
us exactly why you were all feeling some sort of
way about being an adult the other day?
Speaker 6 (20:14):
Well, we are a homeowner, my husband and I and
I did not realize how difficult water heaters are in
the sense that ours ours went out, so we needed
to get a new one.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
And the guy came to look it over.
Speaker 6 (20:25):
There's a million options and a different price point for
every single one of them. And I said, I just
want a hot shower. Which one does that? He goes, well,
all of them do, and I'm like, then give me
the one in the middle.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
Don't give me the high end.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
Don't just give me the middle.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
I just need a hot shower.
Speaker 6 (20:40):
Why is it so difficult to pick these things as an.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Adult, because why would anybody want to make it that
easy on somebody who's an adult. I mean, therefore, the
adult problem nobody warned you about growing up as a
kid is anything you've had to face. Chili that's been similar.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Well, being a homeowner is great. You feel very grown up,
but there's a lot of maintenance that comes with it.
It's not just like you buy it once and everything
is done to your point. There's painting, there's repairing, there's remodeling.
It never ends.
Speaker 6 (21:06):
You know.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
That makes me think of something that just happened yesterday.
I had a coolant light come on in my car,
right and I called my mechanic and I said, hey,
how do I make sure I'm not overfilling this? He's like,
why don't you just come by?
Speaker 5 (21:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (21:18):
And I watched him do it, and I go, that's it. Yeah,
how come they didn't teach me that? He's like, that's
because you talk for a living and I fixed cars.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
That's true, But car maintenance is an adult issue. We
should all kind of know.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
A lot of the basis, yes, because it can cause
you adult problems that nobody's warned you about, from water
heaters to cars to home ownership situations. You've got to
have something that has bothered you before that nobody warned
you about and maybe you wish you would have learned
it earlier in Life eight sixty six ninety two, seven
forty three sixty one. It's the number of talkbacks wide
(21:51):
open too. If you're signed into your iHeart app and
you want to just tap speak and send us a
message to join the conversation as we get into it
this morning with Toby and Chilly in the morning here
on that he said, en point one watch FM, So
go ahead and give us a call now or leave
us a talk back message and we'll get into this
coming up in just a few minutes. And in the
meantime we're going to hear another one of your crazy
first did stories.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Lane and Hughesville went out with the guy that she
described as a total geek, but was he able to
win her over.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
You know what they say about geeks. You'll hear the proof.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
It's Toby and Kelly, it's crazy Thursday in Husville.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Lane, good morning, tell us your story.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
So I knew a group of friends were going to
a dance that called the friend that went over to
her house and in walks this guy I knew from
church that I really thought was a nerd, a geek.
Speaker 6 (22:39):
Whatever.
Speaker 5 (22:40):
So anyway, Judy said, I'm going to take my van.
We can all go on my dan. I said, you
know what, Judy, I'm going to take my own car
because I'm not going to stay long. So this geek
says to me, oh, well, I'll go with you. Well
again the car, and here comes the geek walking up
to the car and he gets in the car and
we're driving along and we're really having a nice talk,

you call and when Toby and Chilly in the morning continue.
