Anya from Silver Spring thought she was in for a low-key first date at the movies—until her date disappeared halfway through the film. No goodbye. No text. Just gone. When he finally reached out, the excuse he gave was so bizarre, we had to hear it twice. Was it legit… or the most creative ghosting ever? 🎬

is Anya. Chili and I are both listening. What is
your story?

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Yeah, So I met a guy at a comedy club
and we ended up going to the movie together and
we started watching it, and maybe fifteen minutes into it,
he's like, Hey, I'm going to go buy something. You
want anything? I said, yeah, you know, can get me
a bottle of water. And he left and he never
came back. What exactly?

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Yeah, yep, did he ever explain why he left? What happened?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
So we wanted to get a quick bite together in
his car. I dropped my car somewhere else. I left
my bag there actually, so when he never came back,
but I needed my bag. Finally, I texted him and
I said, Hey, I'm going to go eat at a restaurant.
Meet me at this restaurant because I really need my bag.

(00:59):
And find he came to the restaurant. He gave me
this crazy story and he started eating off my plate
without asking me, and I was horrified. And I never
saw him again.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Not that it really matters at this point, amyex I
know you never saw him again, but what Kakamami's story.
Did he come up with that, Damie?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
He said he was sleepy and he went to sleep
and that he had just woken up that time though
I had texted him LA, what a fool he was.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
I mean, oh, I'm sorry I my garage.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, and he was so apologetic that he ate your
food and took a nap.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
He is so full of exactly. Well, never saw him again.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
No shock there.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Well, that's an incredibly crazy story.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
And because you shared that story with us, Anya, we
hope that whomever you take to go see shake Era
doesn't just leave you stranded at National's Park May thirty first,
Thanks to our friends Alive Nation.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Thank you so much. Yeah, I'm definitely not taking him.
I'm taking one of my girlfriends, that's for sure.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah, she won't leave you there, won't. She won't fall
asleep on you, exactly. Now, hang on just a second,

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
