Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Toby and Chilly crazy for a date, and but
that is the good morning Michelle.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Welcome. We can't wait to hear this crazy first date
adventure that she went on. Chilly and I are all ears.
The floor is yours.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
I was set up by my associate buddy, which was
meant this person had some influence over my job and
whether I got hired. Ultimately, she made it a little
bit awkward. She said she wanted to set me up
with her husband's best friend, and I really didn't feel
I could say no. I was twenty five, he was thirty.
Over the course of the date, I discovered he was sexist, rude,

(00:37):
as he describes himself, a little bit vain, and having
a little bit of a Napoleon complex. And at one
point he stopped and he looked at me thoughtfully and said,
it's really refreshing to go out with someone your age,
because I date these limen in my own age, and
I feel like I'm getting leftovers.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
This kinds all the boxes.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Oh my only five years younger than him.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
I felt this was an affront to all women and
all human beings really, that he was calling thirty year
old women leftover. Yeah, and I was speechless.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Because he was set up by somebody who was like
a management at your work. What do you do then,
clearly you don't want to go out with him again?
Do you give her the truth?

Speaker 3 (01:21):
And this was way back before cell phones or anything,
so it's not like he was texting them right away
to say, oh, this went great, and he actually asked
me out again. I had called him back when I
left a message for him saying, you know, this is
Michelle and thanks for calling and I'm not going to
be able to go out with you. Thanks bye. And

(01:42):
I avoided her because she was gone, and by the
time she came back two weeks later, she clearly has
figured out this didn't go well. And I just said, oh, well,
thanks for the setup, let's not try any others.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Like what would she have said? Anyway?

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Remember at the time thinking maybe I should write to
Reader's Digest or something. I mean, the whole thing was
just dunning. But I thought to myself, after, you know,
I have a really good story.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Yes you do, and instead of Readers Digest, you called
us with the story. And we appreciate that I did.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Thanks for giving me an outlet for telling it.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
We would love to send you out on a nice
little date. Billy, Joel and Sting at Nashal's Park September fifth,
thanks to Live Nation.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Oh we would love that. We have been wanting to
go to that concert.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Well, you're going, and hopefully you're going with someone that
appreciates it more than that other dude would have not
appreciated it. It sounds thank you and if you need
the news, don't go anywhere. Top Stories at the top
of the hour would tell me you chilly in the
morning and just
