Proudly Pa. This is the LocalShow with a Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of
Fame on the River ninety seven tothree. All right, welcome to episode
twenty one of the Local Show, brought to you by renewal by Anderson of
Central PA. My name is GlennHamilton. That is Brandon Valentine. Hello.
Everyone. Brandon is the president andfounder of the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall

(00:25):
of Fame. And we have avery special guest with us. Brandon,
we have Nick Mucci, who isthe director of Development for Christian Churches United
of the Tri County area. It'sgreat to be here. Nick. It's
great to have you here because youare heading the charge this year for Joy
to the Berg. Yeah. I'mdoing my best, do my best.
Thrill to be a part of it. I know how much heavy lifting is
evolved. I think I do andI don't because but thank you for everything

(00:48):
you're doing, especially this being yourfirst year. But we're going to feature
a bunch of songs from the album. We're gonna feature the first six songs,
right, you got it? Yep. The Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of
Fame helped curate the music for this, and it's all about helping the homeless.
So, and you had three actionitems that people can do to help
the homeless this year. Yeah, there's three things that you can do.
You can you can buy the albumgoing to Jordaberg Jorditheberg dot com buy the

(01:11):
album, you can attend the concerton December tenth, or you can just
donate to support the homeless. Allright, we'll talk about all of those,
but let's let's kick off the music, shall we, Brandon, Well,
we're kicking it off with the firsttrack on the twenty twenty three Jorda
the Berg album. It's a familiarface or a familiar voice. I guess
I should say it's Glenn Hamilton andShay Quinn with their cover of the Bing

(01:34):
Crosby and David Bowie classic Peace onEarth The Little Drummer Boy on the River
ninety seven to three. It's thelocal show. Come. They told me
Paul rupa pum pum a new bornking to ce pau rupper pump pound,

(02:02):

rubber pump pong, rubber pump pump, rub a pump pump Come please over

(02:53):

(03:37):

to him, I see my bagand I could mumbo him. The local

(04:26):
show on the River ninety seven tothree. Once again, that's the man
sitting across from me, Glenn Hamiltonon vocals there with mister Shay Quinn singing
Peace on Earth and the Little DrummerBoy. If you haven't seen the video
yet, it's on the Jordan theBerg facebook page. Great job by GK
Visual, Nate Krisky and the gangover There a lot of music videos,

(04:46):
but a lot of music videos forit. But Glenn tell us about that
experience. Well, real quick,I just want to say last year,
my daughter and I did this songwith the Jelly Bricks. We did the
Tom Petty cover which is on lastyear's compilation. I was like, they
asked if I would do another onethis year, and I was like,
it's a no brainer, because ShayQuinn does the band who sold the world
David Bowie tribute. So I'm like, let's do you know, I'll be

(05:09):
bing and Shake can be Bowie andwe'll get a bunch of guys together.
And we talked about it for eightmonths. We finally went in the studio
in September with Derek Houston over atthe Green Room and just some of the
finest players you would ever want towork with. We had James Klippel on
the keyboards and the strings. Wehad Scott Fringe slapping that bass mode,

(05:31):
and our little drummer boy who's notso little anymore, the great Logan Badard
just tore it up on the drums, and it just all came together.
I think when something comes together thateasily, I think it's just meant to
be. And you're playing guitar onthat as well, right, I do
play some electric guitars. Shay letme play as Les Paul a little bit,
but Shaye does all the heavy liftingon the guitar on that. But
it was fun. It came togetherand we had a great time doing the

(05:54):
video for two kind of Love It. Yeah, And if you haven't seen
the video, out there. Yetyou got to check it out because as
Glenn mentioned, you know is literallyplaying the part of being Crosby with the
sweater. You know, we gotthe Christmas scenery in the background. Shay
is literally playing the part of DavidBowie. And they even mix in a
little bit uh Jack Black influenced there. So check that out for beautiful version

(06:15):
of the song as well, Jackand j Jason. But they were animated,
right, That's true. Card. But it's such a and all of
the artists that are on these compilationshave so much fun and joy and passion
for this project. Nick. Solet's talk about that first action item,
which is buy they the album. So you can buy the album at Jorditheberg

(06:39):
dot com. You can get thephysical CD as well as download the album
and so you can do that Jordithbergdot com. Then they will be for
sale in Carnes this weekend. Webelieve it will be up and you can
go to Carnes and grab it therethe physical CD. The physical CD at
Carnes It's back. We will alsohave three of them past year's albums also

(07:00):
for sales. You can get abundle nice so it's not just this year's
but you can buy some of lastyear's in a bundle as well at Carns.
And we were talking about this, you know, it's it's it's not
as easy as just going on youriTunes or Spotify or whatever, okay,
because there's so many different things involved. This is more about supporting the cause.
Yeah, you have to work alittle bit to get it, but
it's so worth it. It's aboutthe cause, it's about donating the money

(07:23):
and if you can listen to itand enjoy it, that's fantastic, But
just think about supporting it the causesthat the Joy to the Burg does with
Christian Churches United to help our areunhoused in the area, and it's for
me personally. It's been incredible tolearn about all the local musicians as well,
so it's a great way to supportthe homeless and to help with the
outreach there, but also to learnabout the incredible talent that's here. Harris,

(07:47):
It's awesome. So that's why wedo the local show too. To
that. So who's cut two onthe album Brandon track number two. He's
actually co chair of the Joy tothe Burg project this year. It's Bob
Geiger. He runs marketing over apen line over there as well. He's
a heck of a musician. Heselected this year to do a cover of

Joy to the Burg compilation coming upnext on the Local Show on the River
ninety seven three, brought to youby Renewal by Anderson A Central Pa.
That's classic? What is a classic? To something? Just rot? This

(19:08):
is the Central Pas Real Rock Variety. We're back with more of the Local
Show on the River ninety seven tothree and iHeartRadio brought to you by Renewal
by Anderson of Central PA. I'mGlenn Hamilton. Our special guest is Nick
Muci, director of Development for ChristianChurches United at the Trick County Area and

(19:29):
one of the co chairs of Joyto the Burg this year. This is
our Joy to the Burg Special edition, and we're featuring a bunch of the
songs that are on this year's compilation. Brandon Valentine. Who's up next?
If you go back and listen tothe previous episodes of the Local Show on
the podcast, you can get iton the iHeartRadio app. We played this
one a few weeks ago. Actually, it's a Christmas track from the Jelly

(19:52):
Bricks. It's will Be Together theChristmas Song, and I believe it actually
started out as I think a jingleor a commercial. I think they were
talking about Jeffrey Gaines. I thinkhad it as a seed of an idea
and it started out as a jingleand then he gave it to them to
finish. How about it, JeffreyGaines, Jelly Bricks, Come Come.
Bob Watsh participated in there a bitelaboration. That's right, collaboration and really

(20:15):
that's what this album is about. It collabation. Right, we are better
together, and it's called We'll BeTogether the Christmas Song. Here it is
the Jelly Bricks on the Local shownine. The year's been so crazy,

(20:41):
We've running around being just then it'sso hard, so hard. We soon
shouts there chetchall plane is coming, hit that hid away Ruther hop that train

(21:12):
and going home. So now thatyou're come in his favorites a half,
I can't wait to see you,Ton' waiting not h coming the days as

(21:37):
Christmas's closer, You're not sole catchallplane is coming, hit that home away,
n Hop that train going well besuprise superior sucret it seems so about

(23:00):
this kid. M time to remember, it's time to save down. It's
so safe that no friends, typeof fun chatch of fasting hit the way

(23:23):
it say allow be efics on thelocal show on the River ninety seventy three.

(24:03):
That is will Be Together the Christmassong. That is a collaboration between
the Jelly Bricks and Jeffrey Gaines andit's one of the songs that you'll find
on this year's Joy to the Bergcompilation. Up next, a little old
band from uh where are you guysfrom Brandons? We always say, based

(24:26):
on a dolphin dolphin up north. That's that's the stomping grounds. A good
old lead singer, rhythm guitarist KevinCole and bassist James Klischer. Okay,
right on, man, these guysare near and dear to my heart.
Branded Valentine is the drummer in thisband, but he doesn't play the drums
on this particular track. First timeI think I've recorded a song and not

(24:48):
contributed to any percussion. But yousing, that's right, all you guys,
just sing? Do you like ninepart harmonies on this or? It's
amazing how it sounds. It wasfun, It's a four part harmony,
though it's three part. It's threepart. It's amazing, is what it
is. Let's listen to it now. This is a mountain road. Have
yourself a merry little Christmas on thelocal show on the river in ninety seventy

(25:11):
three, Have yourself home, merrylittle Christmas. Let your heart line.

(25:33):
From now long, hot troubles willbe out of side. Have yourself home,
merry little Christmas. Make the youtime game. From now on,

(26:00):
moons will beat mine away. Herewe are as in golden days, happy
golden days, hid faithful friends whoare in to us, gathering near to

(26:26):
us once more through the geese,we all will beat you together. If
the face sun lies a shine startupon the highest bad and yourself come by,

(27:00):
happy little Christmas. Nice. Herewe are as a golden days,

(27:32):
happy golden days of painful friends whoaren't here to us, gathering near to
us spawns through the gears. Weall will be together. If the fates

(27:59):
a shine, shut upon the lies, and yourself, I marry little Christmas,

(28:21):
yourself a merry little Christmas. Yourself, I'm marrying little Christmas. No

(28:45):
man. Those harmonies literally made thehair stand up on my arm. Look
at that. That is Mountain Roadand their arrangement of have Yourself a Merry
Little Christmas recorded at the Green Room. When did you guys record that?
Brandon Man, I'll tell you what. The one thing about this project is
the infectious nature of the artists thatwant to participate with Joy to the Berg.
And it is year round, right, so we get so much interest

(29:08):
from local artists who want to bepart of this project, and like I
said, it doesn't just end upbeing part of the holiday season, right.
So as soon as we're done releasingthis, we already have artists working
on next year as Christmas songs tobe part of the album as well.
And that's what Mountain Road did lastyear. The album came out, we
headed into the green Room to workwith Derek Houston there I believe in January.

(29:30):
So we've been sitting on this foreleven months now, I guess,
right. So as an artist, you know we were talking before we were
on air, here is you know, as an artist, you want to
create and you want to share, and to sit on something as new material
for ten or eleven months is kindof hard because you want you want some

(29:51):
feedback on it, you know, you want people to watch it, and
frankly you just want to share it. And we're happy that it's out now.
Yeah, and getting getting some good, good comments on it so far.
And the video is great too.Have you guys recording it in the
green room? You put the videotogether yourself, didn't you? Yeah,
I mean I think we were probablyinspired by last year's Jelly Bricks and Glenn
Hamilton's song, but Wagner production, that's right. Yeah, shout out to

(30:14):
Melanie, you know, just kindof filming the process in the studio there
and it came out and it madeit a cheaper video, you know when
you do it yourself. So well. So we still have another song that
we want to play. Who's Who'sup next? Oh, we're going to
do the Groove Rebels right. Yes, this is my buddy Greg Platzer and
the incredible Amy Simpson. Was goingto say, if you're I'm familiar with
the name, It's It's It istechnically a new band, but these are

(30:38):

local show on the River ninety seventhree. They are part of this year's
Joy to the Berg holiday compilation tohelp the homeless, and we've got our
special guest, Nick Muci from CCU, one of the co chairs of this
year's Joy to the Burg. GrooveRebels are actually playing. They're one of

(35:37):
the bands that are playing at theconcert at the Englewood. At the Englewood
on the tenth. Yeah, that'sSunday, December tenth. If you're listening
to the show live, that isone week from tonight. It's from two
to six, six pm, andit's only ten bucks to get into the
concert. Shay and I, Ifound out, are actually going to perform
our song, our Bang and Bowiesong because Derek over the Green Room is

(35:58):
making a mix of our song itout our vocals, so we're going to
kind of carryoke it up, Iguess. And I think you're seeing the
event as well, right I amM seeing Yeah, absolutely, And I'm
gonna wear my bing Crosby blue sweater. Do you know how heart it is
real? Quick to find a cardigansweater these days, I imagine it's difficult.
I asked my daughter Emily. Iwas like, where do I find

(36:20):
a cardigan? And She's like inthe women's section. Fair enough. So
I went to Amazon and go andI go anyway. So yeah, we'll
be there. It's going to bea great time. And Nick, we
were talking about the three ways thatpeople can help Joy to the Berg and
help our homeless neighbors this year. The first one was to buy the album.
The second one is to go tothe concert at the Anglewood on the

(36:43):
Tent, and the third is justdonate, Just donate you If you go
to Jordanthberg dot com you can donatethere. There is a button just to
give to support the Street Outreach andthe Winter Shelters. In twenty nineteen when
the project started, through the donations, through the purchase of the albums,
we were able to open up anew shelter. And so the money that
comes in for this album, itgoes to the shelters, it goes to

(37:07):
the Street Outreach to support the homelessin our city. And you're up.
We're up over one hundred and fiftythousand dollars net net over the five years.
Yeah, that's incredible. So hopingto get over two hundred thousand,
no doubt this year if you thinkabout it. In that case, you
get twenty tracks on the CD ordigital download and it's a suggested donation of
twenty dollars. So that's a dollara song. I can't beat it.

(37:29):
It's a donation again, suggested donation. You could buy a CD for ten
thousand dollars or twenty one dollars ifyou want, so a great suggestion,
Brandon. You can even get awild hair and just you know, watch
the Mountain Road video and it go, I'm sending them fifty bucks. There
you go. That's what it's about. It's all helping the homeless, especially
during the holiday season. So uhgive the gift of the music. Yeah,

(37:52):
and helped the unhoused right here inour communities. Again for everything you
need to know, Joytotheburg dot Nickis so great having you in on part
of the show so much, Glenn, I appreciate, thank you for everything
