Speaker 1 (00:04):
Ten Takes is a production of the NFL in partnership
with iHeartRadio. Ten Takes You Click, I Love You. We
do exactly ten takes in exactly ten minutes. If we
do not, our face gets blown off by a fiery explosion.

(00:24):
It hasn't happened yet. Will it happen today? The three
most dangerous words and all of podcasting. Start the flock
Take number one. The Bears sucked this weekend. I wish
I had something more nuanced to say, or something more aerodyite.
I don't. Week one for the Chicago Bears was just

(00:46):
really disappointing. Week two is embarrassing, and it was embarrassing,
and it was frustrating for anyone from Chicago, including all
the people on my text change. We were like, you
got to light up the Bears on Monday. I won't
because I don't see someone struggling, bleeding, dying, barfing and
I laugh at them and stop on their face. I don't.
I just keep my disc and point out what I see.
I was told that the Bears offensive line problems would

(01:08):
be fixed. They have new lineman. They signed Joe Tooney,
He's this great guard. And then I watched the Bears
get stopped on a third and one quarterback sneak, only
for them to be stopped on a fourth and one
quarterback sneak. I was told that the front office is
great because they extended the GM and they got all
this great talent. And then I saw none of the
rookies do anything yesterday, barely in of the young players
do anything, including the rookie tight end they drafted in

(01:28):
the first round who had zero catches in a game
that had seventy points. He had one target. Why did
they draft himhead of Tyler Warren? I'm still not sure.
I was told that Caleb and Ben Johnson we're gonna
be this incredible marriage. And then for the second week
in a row, the post productive drive of the game
was the first drive, and then after that it was
pretty much bubb kiss. I could go on and on
and on. How about the fact that much was made

(01:49):
about well, Dan Campbell was running up the score. Of
course he was running up the score. What do you
think he's gonna do. He's Dan Campbell, They're playing against
Ben Jons. They're gonna run up the score. No, he's
not gonna kick the field goal. You know why didn't
kick the field goal, because he kicked every other part
of the Bears their head, their teeth, their growing, their butt.
He kicked everything except the field goal. Really, really, really
a rough day for the Bears. Take number two. I'm

(02:12):
staying on the Bears. It's time for the Bears fans
to do something called recalibrating. Recalibrate your expectations. This is
not going to be a dream season. It's not going
to be Oh my god, they went thirteen and four,
they went twelve and five, they won eleven and six.
Stop all that, stop, control, alt delete. How's Caleb doing

(02:34):
in a month? How's Caleb doing in Thanksgiving? How does
the team look then? Do they look better? Are they improving?
Because it's not even You gotta crawl before you can walk.
You gotta stop crapping your diaper before you can crawl.
You gotta be able to lie in your back and
grab your feet like a baby, or come get the
plastic keys that your mommy is holding to entice you
to come forward. In any way, it's terrible right now.

(02:57):
The question for Bears fans is to be how is
it going to be in two months? If it's still terrible,
well then that's hell. But if it's better, that's something
to think of. Take number three. Of course, the Lions
are still alive. That is a Week one is a
liar Hall of Fame performance by the Lions. Week one
against the Packers, in which they looked really bad. I
try to tell you, guys, weird stuff happens. Week one.

(03:17):
Teams look terrible, they look great. The next week they
look great. They look terrible. They absolutely lit up the
sky yesterday for fifty two points. Was it against the
seventy eight Steelers. No, it was against the Bears. But
you saw Jamison, you saw him on Rah, you saw Jamir.
You saw everything you have wanted to see for the
Lions this year. You saw it. Jared Goff is not
going to turn into a pumpkin. He completed seventeen passes

(03:39):
in a row to in the game. Dan Campbell is
not just some WWE screamer. He is a real, actual,
excellent head coach. Of course, that's the Lions. There's still alive.
I will continue to say they're still alive. They are
still one of the most important teams in the entire NFC.
Take number four. Everything for the Chiefs is so difficult, right,
now they're zero to two, and if you watch them

(04:00):
on offense, everything is a struggle. Their entire offense seems
to be pack. Mahomes just kind of ad libbing and
making plays as a scrambler and sand lotting. No worthy,
no Rice Kelsey drops a pass in the end zone.
I don't even blame Kelsey. I have all respect for
Kelsey's in his thirteenth season. He's a tight end. Gronk
never even made it to thirteen season. Look up Shannon

(04:20):
Sharp's thirteen season. He had a lot of career lows.
It's fine, it's nature, it's biology. You're supposed to get old,
you're not supposed to carry your team. But if you
look at the Chiefs drives this year, even drives they score,
it's like eleven plays, fourteen plays, sixteen plays, nine plays.
Those are great, but you need your four play drives.
You need your two play, your one play, your five play,

(04:41):
and if you're gonna do the fourteen play drives, you
gotta be a great running team. That's your identity. I
love it. Mahomes is the leading rusher after two weeks,
and he has more than three times as much as
the next leading rusher and he's not exactly Lamar Jackson.
Everything is so difficult right now. But I will not
jump off their Bandwigan. We'll not do it. Take number
five five. I'm only five minutes left more on the Chiefs.

(05:01):
I'm not jumping ship either. I don't care if they're
owing two, I don't care. He's never been open to Mahomes.
They can't beat the Eagles, Who cares? Really, they don't
have to be able to beat the Eagles. They were
really close to beating the Eagles last time they played them.
Are down thirty four to nothing. Yes, me, just being
beat by a field goal really close, Like that's a
huge improvement, especially with all the players there without. I
don't care if they can beat the Eagles. I care

(05:22):
if they can beat the Raiders, the Broncos, and if
they can beat the Chargers the second time they play them.
Maybe this is a ten and seven seam for the Chiefs.
Maybe they only win the division, maybe they're only a
wild card. But to sit here and think like Andy
and Patrick are not going to be able to figure
this out, I just can't do it. They lost in
a different continent to a very good up and coming
division rival, and they lost the best team in football

(05:43):
by a field goal. That doesn't mean they're going to
go four and thirteen. Now, I'm not bailing on the Chiefs.
Take number six. I think the tush push is going somewhere.
I can't follow it. I love the tush push. I
don't give a damn that you get bored watching it.
I don't care that you think it's not football. I've
said this now for a couple of years. Where I
can't follow it, though, is when you see the extreme

(06:05):
close up of the line of scrimmage shot and like
two or three or all of the Eagles, oh linemen
are straight up false starting before the ball's even snapped.
You can't do that. That's against the rules of football.
It's not against optics. It's not saying it's rugby this
and not football this. It's just blatantly against the rules.
And yet it's such a cluster bleep in there that

(06:26):
none of the officials can call it because they can't
say for sure what happened. You slow it down and
it is. You can't do that. You can't fall start
before the ball is snapped. So it's not going anywhere
until next year. Watching what I'm watching next year. I
think will out vote it next year, which just tells
me that Nick Sirianni is going to run it into
the ground this year. If you think you're sick of
the tush push, my friends, it's week two. You're gonna

(06:48):
see it one hundred and fifty times. And that might
be just the next month. Because it's like a kid
knowing he's gonna get his PlayStation taken away. He is
playing that thing all night, so he's got blisters on
his fingers. Get ready for a lot more tush push
because it's pretty much illegal now, which makes it even cooler,
and Sirianna will run it in to the ground. Take
number seven. Is there anybody happier in the NFL today

(07:09):
than Jerry Jones? That was a perfect Jerry Jones experience,
a lot of points, a lot of fireworks, a lot
of conversation, a famous quarterback and Russell Wilson comes into
your stadium and lights up your defense. But who cares
that makes for more offense or sell some jerseys? And
you know what, in the end, why not we took
the win as well? That was a perfect, perfect Jerry

(07:29):
Jones game. This Cowboy team is going to be entertaining
is how the defense has nothing. They miss Micah terribly.
The secondary isn't barely what it needs to be. Russell
Wilson just a nap. Absolutely crush them. But Jerry got
the win, he got the ratings, he got the eyeballs.
It's everything you can need. Watch the Cowboys next week.
Thank you for paying. Take number eight. JJ McCarthy gets

(07:51):
a pass from me. I might being soft. I don't care.
I've seen the take out there. Okay, So JJ looked
really bad against the Falcons. JJ infactors looked really bad
for seven of eight quarters that he has played. Maybe true,
JJ McCarthy, he is a young man in his early
twenties who had a baby on Thursday. He can't beat it, Lanta.
I'm sorry. After my first baby, I couldn't spell it, Lanta.

(08:13):
I didn't know what planet I was on, and I
think I was almost a decade older than JJ McCarthy.
I don't care. That is a crazy, crazy week to
go through what he went through. And the baby's there,
and you name it, and you name it Rome and
I don't know what that's after. If they like Italy,
if their Jim Rome is burning fans from the early
two thousand and ESPN. I respect all of it, but
then to go out three days later and not have

(08:34):
your best game, in fact, have a terrible game. I
will give JJ a pass. I just hope next week
he can complete one to someone on his own team.
Take number nine. You know who's the most interesting guy
in the NFL. Rigoberto Sanchez. Do you know who Rigoberto
Sanchez is? He played college football in Hawaii. He's from Chico, California,
who's most known for being the home to Seattle Nevada Zerra,
Nevada Beer and Aaron Rodgers. And Rigoberto Sanchez is the

(08:57):
cult punter. His stats for the year zero punts, zero yards,
zero hangtimes, zero inside the ten. The Colts have not
punted through two weeks. Now, after one week, it's a
funny little thing you talk about, Wow they didn't punt today,
What a great day Daniel Jones had. But after two weeks,
the facts are that no team in the modern era
has ever gone two weeks without punting. Talk not the

(09:20):
Brady Randy Moss Patriots, not the greatest show on turf rams,
the Daniel Jones Colts are the Jeopardy clue. Now and
by the way, this week they did it against the defense.
I was told this the best defense in the NFL
to Broncos. This is awesome. This is a really cool thing.
Daniel Jones through two weeks no punts, Ricaberto Sanchez sitting

(09:43):
around doing squat, just collecting a game check for picking
his nails and thinking about what he's gonna have for
dinner all day. It is a really, really cool thing.
I don't know if the Colts thing is gonna blow up.
They run the ball, the passing offense is good, their
rookie tight end actually produces. It's a fun thing. One
time out of the gates. Week one doesn't mean much
to me, but week two really special. And if they
don't punt next week, oh my god, we have to

(10:05):
have radio row outside Indianapolis for week four. Take number ten.
I love when you guys send me stuff and send
me angry runs. The one thing I don't want you
to do this youth football season. Please don't send me
clips of your child running over another nine year old.
I'm happy for your kid. I'm not going to tweet
that a scream about an NFL network watching nine year
old aid and getting run over by Braiden, who's fifty

(10:26):
pounds heavier than him. Okay, I had much more to
say on Aiden and Braiden and youth kids and youth
parents and everything, and God bless your kid for trucking everybody.
But I just can't laugh at some other kid who
sticks his nose in there in his first ever tackle
football game and gets blown up, and I'm going to
have a scepter sent to him for it. I'm going over.
I'm not supposed to do this. I promise you ten minutes.

(10:47):
I'm going to get out. I will see you guys
next Monday. I love the quick click. I love a
quick pod. I love you in fact same time next week.
Thank you. Ten Takes is a production of the NFL

(11:09):
it'll be there.
