Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Tyreek ke Hi.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
This is not more and you're now listening to Dolphin
UK podcast.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
On jeep speed rays see time, take a lead us, oh.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Around, talk about long and get to the water for
acceleration touchdown.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Hello and welcome to the Dolphan UK podcast. We are
back for another victory show. That's three in a row now, Simon,
I'm glad you were here with me. It's been a
fun few weeks. But glad we're doing another victory podcast. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Long may it continually is what I say, because it's
it certainly makes the pod easier to do, doesn't it
on the back of a win, because there's lots more
to talk about, So long may it continue?
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Absolutely, and they say hopefully we have a lot more
winds going forward. We're going to talk about the We're
going to review the Patriots game from Sunday. We're going
to look ahead to Thursday nights nationally televised Thanksgiving game
against the Green Bay Packers at lambeau Field. That's it's
(01:39):
set to be a big one and we will give
you some updates on the pick and League and we
have some game balls to give out this week. The
first of all, site I want to get into some
news that broke in the morning yesterday, and I was
getting sent it from a whole bunch of people whilst
driving down. I couldn't read it on my phone. I
was like, someone just tell me all this happening, and
(02:00):
they must say I phone Kadeem. I was like, KaDee,
just read me the story and tell me what's going on.
But just for the listeners in case they haven't seen it.
What was going on yesterday.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
Morning, Clais Campbell was reportedly going to be traded to
the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a twenty twenty sixth
fifth round pick, and the story broke that it was
Mike McDaniel that put a stop to that trade, and
that essentially was the storyline pre game, wasn't it.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Yeah, And obviously coach was asked about that in his
post game presser and he gave a typically Mike McDaniel answer,
explaining that he threw somewhat of an adult temper tantrum
and wasn't happy about it. Obviously, obviously I think he
went that completely in jest, but it was interesting to
see his reaction and you know him talk about how
(02:51):
important Claires is to the team, not just from a
production standboy point, but everything else that he does.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Yeah, and as fans, he kind of leaned toward towards
the correct decision, don't you, in terms of him remaining
on the team, because he certainly performed on the field,
he's a bit of a fan favorite, and his value
to the team right now, and as a leader and
as a mentor for some of the younger players, he's
probably more valuable than than that twenty twenty sixth fifth
(03:19):
round pick right now, isn't it. So from a fan standpoint,
it was absolutely the right decision, and from a coaching
and team perspective as well, it just shows you they're
not giving up on this season because it would have
been so easy to acknowledge that trade to get a
future pick in but at what cost. You know, you're
almost telling the fans you've given up, aren't you. So,
(03:43):
So overall, I think it was a good decision and
the right decision.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yeah, it's a hard one, isn't It's a hard message,
you know, to trade a player like that and then
come into the team and say, don't worry, guys, We've
still got this, because you know, it feels like a
very mixed message, and I think you know, I don't
know this was shown on the broadcast yesterday, but there
was a clip. Sorry, there was a moment after the
(04:09):
Zach Seeler strip that I think trop recovered all the
other way around the one that got overturned and was
called a forward path, where Klais Campbell was on the
sideline really kind of pumping Chop up and giving him
a lot of praise, and you could see that connection
and that mental ship, and I think, you know, that's
(04:29):
to be honest, it's always going to be worth more
than a late round draft picking any draft, because I
don't think you can put a price on that. I
think it's really quite invaluable.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Yeah it was. They did show it, excuse me, they
did shot on the broadcast, and as soon as I
saw it, I immediately saw that's the value of having
Khalais Campbell on the team, And that's kind of was
my thought process behind him being a mentor for some
of the younger players, because that kind of knowledge and
experience is invaluable at that stage, particularly for a guy
(05:00):
like Chob Robinson who's still learning, and you can't replicate
that elsewhere, can you So I saw that, and I
thought that was really good from Clais Campbell in the
heat of the moment to just take him aside for
a second and have a chat with him about about
his play. And that's good leadership, good mentorship.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
Yeah, and that impact that you say that you can
have on younger players is can be immeasurable. Do you
know what I mean? If you've got the sort of
experience that Khalais Campbell has had in the NFL in
regards to his play and the way he looks after
his body. We've heard Zach Sealer at his press conference
yesterday mentioned how much he admires Kalaires Campbell in his
(05:41):
game and what he has learned about Colese Campbell since
he's been on the team is like, those are the
important steps that you can take to you know, really
affect a young player's future. So I think, yeah, that
becomes kind of invaluable going forward. But after that breaking
piece of news, I did manage to finally arrive at
(06:03):
the stadium to see the Dolphins take on the Patriots
on Sunday afternoon, So you were watching at home. So
let's get a few thoughts on that. And I want
to start off with it's Miami's offense back.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
The answer to that question, I think is most emphatically
yes it is now. I like in their performance on
Sunday on offense to a boxing match, it was like
in the first quarter they were two fighters trying to
suss each other out because not a lot happened. There
wasn't a lot of action, but then all hell broke
(06:43):
loose in the second the Dolphins quickly assaid to their
dominance and never really look back. And I think it
was only a question of time, really. And the good
thing is this week we saw some variation from having
a reliance on the running the ball with a short
passing game, this week they opened things up on offense
with arguably their best passing performance of the season to
(07:05):
a carved up New England's defense for big plays and
sustained drives. Waddell had eight for forty four and a touchdown.
Smith had nine receptions for eighty seven and a touchdown.
Han had two tds, and they just seem to hit
the Patriots from all angles. Now, this is the kind
of performance we we used to last season, that we've
(07:26):
been expecting all of this season, and now it's got
to the point where defenses are having to plan for
a multifaceted offense, a running game, short passing game, long
passing game, long drive, short drives. Teams are going to
have to plan for a lot more now than they
did perhaps earlier in the season, and they are getting
better each week and heading towards a peak at the
(07:48):
end of the season, which is what you want now,
isn't it from a team that's heading towards the playoffs?
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Absolutely? And it's interesting, isn't it. Because the whole thing
is still underpinned by the Dolphins performances from last year,
because we still see teams playing that too high safety. Look,
they're still absolutely petrified of getting beat by Tyreek and
Jalen going deeper now, even John U. Smith we've seen
(08:15):
that in his arsenal as well. But it the Dolphins
have found a way to mature their game and sort
of expand it, like you say, into we can win
a run game, we can win in a short passing game.
We can now win almost in any way that you
(08:36):
could possibly want to in the NFL. And I think
it opens up such possibilities. If you go into a
game and something's not working, you know you have the
ability to successfully complete another game plan. So that's interesting.
And just before we go on, I wanted to tell
you a story from the press box which definitely relates
(08:56):
to the Dolphins' offense, because I was sitting around some
Boston media from a few different outlets, and it was
quite funny because at the end of the first quarter,
one of them turned to the other and said, well,
that was boring. Not long into the second quarter, the
(09:17):
same guy turned to the to his right, speak to
the to the next chap again and said, do you
think the Dolphins will score fifty today? Because of how
quickly they seem to be moving the ball? And before halftime,
the second guy was looking up flights to get out
of Miami as quick as possible because he was originally
going to stay till the next day. I was trying
to move their flight up. So yeah, it was a
(09:40):
very interesting course of the sorry kind of series of
events there from the first of the second core world.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
It almost goes to what back to what I said,
it's all of a sudden, all hell broke loos, didn't it?
And the Dolphins racked up twenty four points in that
second quarter.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yeah, and it seemed to hit them, and there was
a lot of oohs and ahs every kind of I
think it was the second Dolphins scoring drive where two
completed a whole bunch of passes. You know, a lot
of tight windows throws typical Tours pros. If you've watched tour,
you know that that's that's who he is, That's how
he likes to play the game and where he excels
(10:17):
at it. But it was almost like they were seeing
it for the first time, which is interesting considering Tours
record against the New England Patriots. Yeah, I mean lots
of and ours and kind of surprised that that these
balls are all getting completed with such consistencies, Like, yeah,
that's if you say, if you've watched tour, you know
(10:39):
that's that's who he is and that's his game. As
well as all the fancy deep stuff that they've done
in the past. That's great, but it's the it's the
tight window throws that I think really impressed. But yeah,
they did seem to catch them a little bit off guard.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
But it's no surprise to us, is it. We used
to it, aren't they week in, week out? Mostly it's Yeah,
so when you get an out of town media court
arriving and they're exposed to it for the first time. Well,
you'd have thought they'd have been even used to it
as well, because he's done it to them, having gone
what was it, six or seven undefeated against them, So
it can't be kind of been a strange thing for
(11:20):
them to see, unless they, of course, they were new
to the Boston media.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Possibly. I know there was definitely the angle we were
sitting at definitely accentuated how tight those windows were, how
much it was on the ball, and how accurate Tour was.
I mean, it's impressive to see. I do think think
to myself, you know, I hope we never become too
accustomed to this and lose appreciation for quite how good
it is. Because you only have to watch some of
(11:46):
the other quarterback play in the NFL, and players see
it like Tour doesn't mean they can execute it like
to her, because that's what is that's what sets him
apart from a lot of those other guys, which is
intro stuff. But I want to move on from the
offense briefly. So what did you make of Chop Robinson's
(12:06):
development of his performance this week? He seemed to be
everywhere throughout the game, and it involved in everything.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
We've talked about his development already, of course to a
certain extent earlier on. But to me it seemed a
logical draft pick back when it was made last April,
as back then they weren't sure whether Phillips and Shubb
will be fit to play. Obviously, he had limited opportunities
in the early part of the season while he learned
the scheme, and as it turned out, we had to
play behind Philips for a while in the rotation. But
(12:36):
he's started to blossom, has any since Philip Phillips has
been lost to that injury black kindry kind of injury
forced Robinson into a more significant playing time, and he's
very much found his footing now. I think now Sunday
marked the third instance in the last four games in
which he's recorded a sack. He generated eight pressures against
(12:57):
the Patriots on twenty six pass rushing, which is a
thirty point eight percent pressure rate. Now that number might
not mean anything in isolation just by saying it, but
when you take into account it ties for fifth the
highest pressure eight by any player in a game this season.
(13:17):
It just shows you the kind of development that he's
now making, especially with Phillips, as I say, having gone
for the season, and we don't yet know when Brady
Chubby is coming back, if at all. So that the
fact that he's now started to generate that pressure rate
and he's getting to the quarterback and he's getting those sacks,
it just shows you that development is there now, isn't it.
(13:38):
And if there was any question whether that was the
right draft pick for the Dolphins to make in that
first round, those questions have been well and truly answered now.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Oh yeah, I mean, his performance is just seem to
be getting better and better, don't they. And I know
coach McDaniel mentioned in his pressure conference when asked about
Truck Rominson that this is a culmination of everything from
the moment he was drafted to this point. This is
not suddenly, oh he's figured it out in the last
few weeks. It's he's been getting there and getting there
and getting there. And I think, you know, we even
(14:07):
mentioned a few weeks ago he was starting to get
pressures and effect plays, but not necessarily getting the box
score stats, you know, where it wasn't necessarily resulting in
a stat or sorry, a sack or about a ball
or anything. Like that, but you can see it was coming,
and it's very much a similar trajectory to when Jaden
Phillips started. You know, it started off it kind of
(14:30):
felt slow because he was impacting plays but not getting
the kind of recorded stats, if you like. You kind
of got to dig deeper into the analytics to find
the real measurable impact on the game. But visually you
can see it and then it starts to result in
in sacks and chop celebrations. So we we've looked forward
(14:51):
to seeing more of that going forward.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
God was going to say that celebration is quite cool,
isn't it when you see the whole team doing the
chop Almost yes, and Dan and I were doing it
in the lounge and sync as well after that because
we knew what was coming. So it's a great little selly,
isn't it.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
It absolutely is, And I think it's no longer breaking
news because we Jyleen mentioned it in his press conference yesterday.
But don't worry people, The waddle is not retired. It
will come back at some point. He just said it
just needed a break. So we hope to see plenty
more Jayleen Woddel celebrations so we can see the wardle
back at some point, but it's not gone for good.
(15:31):
It's coming back most probably the most important news of
all the Sunday.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Yeah, I think I read somewhere that people were coming
up to him in public and asking him to do
the waddle, And for a grown man to do the
waddle in public's probably not the most sensible thing to
be doing, because even though it is Jayalen woddele. But
can you imagine people coming up to Chop Robinson and
asking them asking him.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
To do the chop the street?
Speaker 4 (15:56):
I'm not sure I would, to be honest, I've.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Scoring it makes complete sense where after you know, getting
a sack, it makes sense in the street. I'm guessing
it probably gets very old very quickly. I'm sure you know.
It's obviously meant as a sign of appreciation, but I
can alsously imagine that it means we get to see
some other celebrations, which is great. So we'll look forward
to some of that from Joer the model heading forward
(16:20):
and the return of the warde at some point.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
What was his new selly then? I mean he was
obscured for the touchdown when he scored, and he might
have had a better view of it than I, but
there were several players in a way, it just seemed
to lots to be lots of wriggles of the arms
and the legs from what I could see.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
But I'll be honest, I didn't watch. I saw that
it wasn't the Wadel and looked away because I was
posted to posting suddenly gone social media from the from
the pot account. But I will check back and maybe
we'll post it on on social if we can get
a clip of it. But with that being said, we
mentioned each week that with more Dolphins wins, there's more
(16:55):
fins facts. So side, do you have some fins facts verus?
This week following the victory over the New England Patriots.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
Yep, I do have some Finns facts. And to start with,
Miami's win over New England mark the sixteenth time the
Dolphins have swept the Patriots in the divisional series and
it's the first time since the nineteen ninety nine and
two thousand seasons in which the Dolphins have recorded sweeps
over New England in back to back seasons. So pretty remarkable,
But then considering Tom Brady was the quarterback for most
(17:26):
of that time, maybe not so unremarkable. With the win,
head coach Marke McDaniel is the first coach in Dolphins
history to win five of his first six games against
New England. The Dolphins improved their record to sixty three
fifty three in the all time regular season series. The
win over the Patriots gives Miami eleven victories in their
last fifteen meetings with New England, the best fifteen game
(17:49):
stretch against the Patriots since nineteen eighty nine to nineteen
ninety six, when the Dolphins won thirteen or fifteen matches.
Miami held New England scoreless the first half, making the
first time the Dolphins have shut out a team and
a half since JAG's game in Week one two, Tour
(18:09):
recorded one of the best quarters of his career. That
second quarter, he went fifteen of twenty one fo one
hundred and eighty three yards and three touchdowns with one
hundred and thirty seven point five passer rating, and the
second quarter marked the second time in his career in
which he passed at least one hundred and seventy five
yards and three touchdowns in a single quarter. Can you
name the other game?
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Lee was devil last year? No, It wasn't Actually I
don't know.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
It was the game against the Baltimore Ravens on the eighteen,
twenty twenty two, and what a quarter that was? Who
could forget that one?
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Apparently? Yeah, apparently.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
The best winning percentage versus an opponent by active quarterbacks
to a ranks joint first with one hundred percent record
against the doing the Patriots and Jimmy g As one
hundred percent record against the LA Rams. Would you believe
you didn't know that one?
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Does it interesting to have one hundred percent record against
the New York Jets as well?
Speaker 4 (19:14):
I think he does.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
I think he does, think of a.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
Yeah? And then conversely, he has a poor record against
the Hills, doesn't he having only got one win?
Speaker 1 (19:25):
I think?
Speaker 4 (19:26):
But I guess when we play the Jets in a
couple of weeks time, we'll we'll see these kind of
stats come out again, won't they. And then, just lastly,
to finish on a couple of more tours, tour stats
too has got the highest passer rating since Week eight,
with a rating of one hundred and sixteen point two
amongst all active quarterbacks, and through week eight as well,
(19:48):
he's got the highest sorry from week on once. He's
got the highest completion percentage in the NFL this season,
standing at seventy three point three percent, So some too
is certainly on form, isn't he? And that leads us
nicely onto our game balls league. We did a fan
vote on x this week, and we've been meaning to
(20:10):
do it after every game, I think this season, but
we finally got around to it for the first time.
And did you want to reveal the fan vote on
who gets the game balls on social media this week?
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Absolutely? So. We put four options out there to vote
for a game ball this week and it was Tour
after going twenty nine of forty for three hundred and
seventeen yards and four touchdowns, Jalen Waddle going eight completions
on nine receptions for one hundred and forty four yards and
one touchdown, John us Smith having nine completion completions on
(20:44):
eleven targets eighty seven yards and a touchdown, and Trop
Robinson for four tackles and a sack and a half
on the day. So I guess I was just going
to add to that.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
Sorry, go on, will you go first?
Speaker 1 (21:00):
And in reverse order with two percent of the vote
was John hu Smith. The fifteen percent of the vote
was trop Robinson was thirty one percent of the vote,
it was Jalen Waddle, there were fifty two percent of
the result was two Tongavila. So a game ball for tour.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
I was going to say, in a performance like that,
where there's a lot of contributions from all over the
field on both sides of the ball, it can be
sometimes difficult to pick out or include all the standout
players that you want to include. And we were limited
to four and it was interestingly seth Oj and Travis
(21:40):
gave out their game balls right after the game, and
they gave it individually to three of the four that
we had on our list as well. I think the
exception was John hus Smith, I think, but that between
them they had to a waddle and chop as their
three game balls, so he kind of you get a
sense of who to lean towards, don't you, in terms
(22:01):
of the genuine contenders, Even though contributions were good across
the board.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Oh absolutely, And I'm guessing John Smith slightly suffers for
having won game balls last week.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
Yeah, I can't give it to him two weeks in
a row, can we.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
I think it's it's sharing the love a little this week.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
Yeah, who was game No? Absolutely no. He played really well,
didn't he? And I know Danny's got him in his
fantasy teams, so he was well toughed, especially early on
when he kept getting some good catches early. He was
quite pleased. So, Lee, who was your game ball going to?
In the end? Who did you decide on?
Speaker 1 (22:37):
So I was going to go to it, I must
say I thought his performance was excellent, but with the
fan vote going that way, I decided to give the
game ball to Jalen Waddle. I thought he had an
exceptional game. I thought he deserved it after waiting patiently
this season for this sort of game. I think we've
seen an uptick in his his usye the last few weeks.
(23:01):
I think obviously coincides with two are returning, But as
his offense has kind of got back on track a
little bit, his game has got back on track with it.
So he definitely deserved a game ball for that. They
said there was plenty of great plays in there as well,
lots of lots of tough receptions, lots of moving the
(23:21):
chain on third down. Obviously had a touchdown as well,
So and I think do the only Yeah, there's only
one ball that wasn't completed to him, and I think
he looked frustrated after, if I remember rightly, he looked
frustrated as if he thought he should have caught it,
you know, because they had had one hundred percent completion
right on the day. But a great, great day either way.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
It's interesting. I've got Jayleen Waddle in a Dynasty Fantasy
league and this season, I think it's fair to say
that he's not performed like the Jayleen Waddle we all know.
And because I've got Jamar Chase and A. J. Brown
in the same team, they're the two wide receivers I've
tended to play we can week out because you can
almost guarantee that they're going to give you some production.
(24:05):
But with Jamar Chase on a by, I needed to
replace him, and I had Juan Jennings in my lineup
from the forty nine ers, But then when I realized
Brot Perdy wasn't playing, I put Lad McConkie in for
the Chargers, only to then realize that there was a
doubt over his fitness for the Hardbaor Bowl this Monday night,
and I thought, right, I'm going to take him out
(24:26):
and I put Jen and Moddel in literally about five
minutes before kickoff, before the deadline, so I was kindly
rewarded by twenty four point nine Fantasy points. So I'm
chuffed with the fact that he played well and chuffed
with the fact that he scored me some fantasy points
also superb.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
I must say I had a pretty good day in
some fantasy leagues yesterday, having doubled up with Dolphin's players
across the board. I've got a bunch of Tour and
ah Chan and then peppered that in with some Waddle
and Johnny Smith as well. So happy result some fantasy leagues, absolutely,
but that brings someone to your game ball.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
So now I've discussed Chop earlier and I did think
about considering giving it to him, and on any other
day I think he would deserve a game ball. But
like the Fang vote, I'm going for Tour as you said,
twenty nine or forty for three hundred and seventy nine
yards and fur tds and that percentage completion rate I
mentioned in Finn's Facts, where he's now exceeded seventy percent
(25:29):
in four straight games, which is the active longest streak
in the NFL so's he's in top form and he
deserves a game ball this week.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Absolutely, and then someone who's not getting a game ball.
But slightly funny story that I wanted to mention to
you before we get to half time is I was
sitting in the press box and I look over to
my right and I see friend of the show Travis
Wingfield sitting there wearing a jumper and gloves. Now, it
was seventy odd degrees in Miami yesterday and I was
(25:58):
starting the press box and the air com was on,
But I don't know if I would say it was
glove cold, but I know Seth and the Fish Tank
did post a picture of it online. But yeah, it
did make me chuckle, especially thinking how cold it was
when we were in Frankfurt watching the Dolphins play last year.
(26:19):
It was pretty cold at that game, and obviously it'll
be cold Satursday night. But yeah, to see someone wearing
gloves in hard Rock Stadium on a nice Sunday afternoon
was pretty funny to me.
Speaker 4 (26:29):
Were you sat there in your shorts and T shirt
by any chance?
Speaker 1 (26:33):
No? But as I usually do when I go to
when I go to the press box, I will wear
shorts to the stadium because it's beautiful weather, and then we're,
you know, try and dress somewhat smarter and put some
trousers on to go into the press box. But yeah,
it was plenty warm enough to be wearing shorts as well.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
It's almost like we can't fathom how somebody in Miami
would wear gloves when it's when we're so used to
the temperatures that we have to suffer, particularly in the
UK at the moment, it's absolutely freezing and Friday, Friday morning,
I was wondering whether Danny's Saturday grassroots game was going
to go ahead due to the freezing cold, and of
(27:12):
course we've been hit by a storm as well. So
to then sit back and hear about somebody wearing gloves
in Miami just doesn't make sense.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Well, I suppose it's funny, isn't it, Because we also
know that Dan Marino was the face of Isotona Gloves
for yeah, for years as well, which which makes just
about as much sense. But it's just as funny.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
So Travis wearing isotonas I don't know.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
I didn't ask him that, but I must say I
did text him text to send him a message from
the other side of the press box during the game,
I was like, you've gone for Miami now from the
Pacific northwest of wearing gloves in hard Rock Stadium is
It's quite the change.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
On a serious note, though, Travis's family were certainly his
daughter was attending the game for the first time, and
I saw some pictures on Facebook of her in the stand,
and I haven't heard whether she enjoyed herself, but I
sincerely hope she did, given that it was a win
and a hopefully a good experience for her and hopefully
the feedback that she wanted to come back some more.
(28:08):
Especially she's now a lucky charm. She's got one hundred
percent record now, so she has to come back.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
And it was great. I was talking to Tarvis before
the game and he was talking about Karenine making her
first trip to a Dolphins game, and he was so
excited for her to be there and was excited by
her excitement. It's like, yeah, that's amazing. I can't wait
to take my daughter. And I know you've been able
to take Danny to games in the past, so yeah,
I mean, it's a great experience. And then he found
(28:36):
out later that coach was bringing his daughter into the
press conference with him, and she sat at the back
of the room while he answered questions from the media,
although she did get bored and left half way through,
which the coach found quite funny as well. So, but
with that being said, that brings us to halftime in
the show. So with it being half time, we should
(29:05):
get onto some halftime trivia. Sie, do you want to
give the question the answer to last week's question or
would you like to reveal this week's question.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
We'll give the answer to last week's question first, I guess,
and the question was can you name the top five
Dolphins players who have had the most one hundred yard
receiving games? And I think I said last week, I
certainly would have got three out of the five, the
fifth one probably wouldn't have got, and the one who's
currently third on the list, although I suspect not for
(29:37):
much longer, I wouldn't necessarily have got Maybe I would
have done after giving it some thought. But how many
would you have got?
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Lee?
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Before we actually revealed the answers.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
I said last week, I think I would have got four.
I don't think I would have got The one at
the bomb of the list is absolutely criminal, but yeah, definitely,
I don't think I would have said that. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
At top of the list was Mark Cooper, who's had
twenty eight one hundred yard receiving games, second was Mark Clayton,
who's had twenty two receiving games, and the third one
on the list was Chris Chambers with seventeen. Fourth is
Tyreek Kill with sixteen, so I suspect and the not
too distant future Tyrek Hill is going to move up
(30:19):
to third in that list. And then the fifth one
on that list with twelve is the one and only
friend of the show No More.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
Which is excellent. I say, I don't think I would
have mentioned I don't know if that Moore's name would
have come to my mind, and that annoys me that
that was the case. But that being said, shall we
set a question for this week as well? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (30:41):
Do you know the answer to this one?
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Lee?
Speaker 4 (30:42):
Have you seen the answer or not? Or shall I
test you right now?
Speaker 1 (30:47):
I've just looked at it all right, because I was
getting ready to read it out.
Speaker 4 (30:52):
But go on there, read it out then.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
God. So, at one point it looked like the Dolphins
might have had a chance to post to shut out
against the Patriots. But when was the last time the
Miami Dolphins toasted a shutout?
Speaker 4 (31:05):
Good question, and you've got to go too far back
for the answer here, So let's see if anyone can
get in touch and let us know the answer without
googling it, of course, so that moves us nicely onto
the weekly pick them league then league and quite generally
a low scoring game. And at the time of recording,
we still have one game to go with Monday Night Football,
(31:27):
so the scores for this week are not quite final,
but some relatively low scores. Did you want to go
through the bottom of the table as it stands right now?
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Yeah, definitely. I know I had a bad week. I
can see as the scores are coming in. I definitely
messed up with the Green Bay San Francisco game because
I saw the inactive list for San Francisco and never
went in and made the change. I made the change
to someone my fantasy team. But we've got to switch
that because they were missing a lot of players in
the end, weren't they, which I think is interesting. Brand
(31:59):
in mind, we played the backers on on Thursday, but
the bottom of the table we have bris Mark fifty
nine ninety one points, Bluey Cove with ninety six, I
have one hundred and one in twenty fourth place. Miami
five oh one has one hundred and five points. Jojo
Chimiya has a one hundred and seven, and that is
(32:19):
tied with Rob Ashton, who also has one hundred and
seven points.
Speaker 4 (32:26):
Both Joe and Robert and our WhatsApp group aren't they
lead and they've remained relatively quiet in response to their
predictions this season. I think, okay, who's who's leading at
the top? Then lead so that I was gonna says
Raybots increased his lead? Or have we caught up on
him yet?
Speaker 1 (32:46):
I can't remember what the lead was last week two?
I think then it is status quo at the top
for a two point lead. A stokey Dolph fan who
why can I not remember the name?
Speaker 4 (33:02):
Sure w Sewn listens to the Pard.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Is tied in fifth place at one hundred and nineteen points.
Bilso is in fourth place with one hundred and twenty points. Simon,
you then have one hundred and twenty three points in
third place. Seventy two equals perfection. That's one hundred and
twenty seven points in second place, and Robots still with
a two point lead with one hundred and twenty nine points.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
Interestingly, nobody scored more than nine so far this week.
Obviously the potential to add one to that tally later on,
but yeah, fairly difficult one to go through and predict
scores this week.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Yeah, so strange, so strange results there this week as
well as the Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
One was a strange one, wasn't it with you thought
they'd have been beaten Washington away? But as crazy last
few minutes. Wasn't it four touchdowns in the last two
minutes of play or something ridiculous?
Speaker 1 (33:57):
Yeah, because I saw Jaydon Daniels was right up there
in regards to cortback performances. So it's a bit of
a strange one. And then we saw some other results,
you know, the Panthers taking the Chiefs to the wire somewhat,
you know, with the way that the Panthers season has gone,
who we've seen that coming. I think I think they're
(34:19):
a third team to put up is it twenty five
points or more than twenty points against the Chiefs. Only
the Bills and the Bengals have done it, and now
the Panthers have I do you know what I mean?
I think hard to predict. But should we move on
to the state of the division after Week twelve of
the NFL season.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
It is in a bit of a state, isn't it
really the afcast because you've got Yeah, the Bills nine
and two obviously didn't play last week, and neither did
the Jets. They're at nine to two and three and eight, respectively.
And the Dolphins obviously increased their lead slightly by game
over the Jets and the Patriots who dropped to three
and nine. So and not too much movement now within
(35:03):
that division, and I suspect it's probably going to remain
that way for the majority of the season. With the
interesting storylines can the Dolphins clincher wild card and can
the Bills gain any sort of home advantage in the playoffs.
So they're the two big storylines now to watch out
for in the AFC East thing, aren't they?
Speaker 1 (35:23):
Yeah? And Buffalo travel sorry, play at home against San
Francisco this week. I see there's a thirty five percent
chance of snow there. That'd be an interesting game if
it was to be a snow game. That percentage went
up twenty percent yesterday today, so it seems more increasingly
(35:43):
likely that it might be a snow game.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
Now does the snow do you think level the playing field,
so to speak, in terms of each of the two
respective teams, because the Niners are seen to be suffering
from a bit of a hangover and the Bills are
high flying at them. It does snow put them on
more of an equal playing field, do you think? Or
will it give the Bills more an advantage because they're
(36:07):
used to playing in it than the Niners.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
I don't know. It's interesting, isn't it, Because it's always
really easy to say, well, both teams have to play
in the same weather, but we just know that that
isn't often the way that it plays out. We know
how many teams come from more let's say average climates
to Miami and really struggle with the heat. And equally
(36:30):
we have seen the Dolphins and two I spoke about
this about breaking that narrative of not playing well in
the cold. You know, it's almost the same as teams
that struggle between time zones. It's a hard one to
work out why it is such the problem that it
is and why no one has really been able to
come up with a way to counteract it. But yeah,
(36:52):
the snow is an interesting one, isn't it, because you
think that would play into it being a Christian McCaffrey
game for the forty nine ers, which doesn't know, which
is usually a pretty good way of winning games anyway.
So interesting, But I suppose the interesting thing about the
most interesting thing will be how healthy San Francisco are
heading into that game with so many players having missed
(37:13):
yesterday's game against the Packers.
Speaker 4 (37:15):
And obviously the Dolphins play the forty nine ers in
a few weeks, of course, don't they, So I've been
interesting to see what their injury slate looks like heading
into that game. Shall we move on to the playoff
picture product projections league by the next gen stats that
we take from NFL dot com.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Let's do that.
Speaker 4 (37:31):
Yeah, give us a rundown. Then where do the Dolphins
stand in terms of their playoff hopes?
Speaker 1 (37:36):
So last week we mentioned on the show they had
a ten percent chance of making the playoffs. That has
jumped again to fifteen percent, so you know, increase by
fifty percent. That's that's quite a large jump for one
week and beating a three win team, but it just
goes to show you just got to keep stacking wins.
Don't you, because it's going to get it's going to
(37:57):
give you a chance here in the end.
Speaker 4 (37:59):
Yeah, I think it's going to be for the next
few weeks. It's going to be incremental changes up or down,
isn't it until such time as they draw level or
enter into that seventh wild card spot? And I would
imagine if they can get to that spot, then the
likelihood of them getting their playoffs is going to increase exponentially,
(38:23):
I think, given the opponents they're likely to face towards
the end of the season. And it's going to take
a few weeks to get there for sure, because they
are a game or game and a half back on
the Denver Broncos already, so they're not going to catch
them immediately. But if they can get to that seventh
spotly I feel as though that percentage will increase a
lot and quickly.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
Won't it. Yeah? Absolutely, And I think it's probably worth
mentioning that. You know, Denver's upcoming schedule is actually kind
of It's not terrible in the immediate I think the
next two or three games, but after that it becomes
quite a schedule, I think. And I heard them talking
(39:02):
about it on the on Good Morning Football this morning.
It's the only reason I mentioned it.
Speaker 4 (39:08):
Yeah, they've got the Browns Monday Night Football next week, which,
on the face of it, you'd have thought at home
would be an easier game. But given the fact that
the Browns had just been the Steelers and look quite
feisty at the minute, you wouldn't write the Browns off
completely in that game. But Denver would be the favorite,
you would assume in that game, and.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Then they have to play the Colts. But then they
played the Chargers, the Bengals and the Chiefs to finish
up the season. So you know, two divisional matchups there,
plus the Bengals in between. It's not the easiest run in,
So it's gonna it's Things are definitely going to get
interesting down the line. But of course, the most important
(39:51):
thing is for the Dolphins to just keep stacking wins.
Speaker 4 (39:55):
If they can't take can't take care of their own
business and get the wins, then it's academic, isn't it
about the playoff conversation, so which leads us nicely into
the preview of the nationally televised game this coming Thursday
against the Packers in Green Bay. Now, the Packers on offense,
they rank overall fifth. Their rushing rank is currently third,
(40:19):
was one of the best in the NFL at the moment,
they're averaging one hundred and fifty one yards per game
behind Josh Jacobs. The passing rank is eleventh. On defense,
their over rank is twelfth, their rushing rank thirteenth, and
passing ranked tenth. Currently, the Packers are the number sixth
seed in the NFC despite having an eight and three record,
(40:42):
and that's because they sit behind the Detroit Lions are
at ten and one and the Vikings who are at
nine to two in the NFC North. So a really
competitive division that lee in terms of where the Packers stands.
So they're fighting for even though they've got a good record.
They're fighting for their positioning in that seeding list, aren't they.
(41:03):
So they're not quite there yet given their record. But
is this a game where you think the coaching matchups
matter more than most?
Speaker 1 (41:13):
It's an interesting one, isn't it? Because this will be
one of three matchups this year where Mike McDaniel coaches
against other head coaches from the same tree that he's
coached with in the past, and I imagine their philosophies
don't differ massively because they've been brought up through that
(41:35):
same system. We saw it when the Dolphins went to
Los Angeles to take on the Rams on Monday Night
Football a couple of weeks ago, and we will see
it again later this year when the Dolphins take on
Carl Shanahan and the San Francisco forty nine ers. And
so we didn't really mention it during that Rams matchup,
(41:55):
but I think it had some unintended consequences maybe there where.
That was the first time since tours return. Although it
was his first win coming back, it was the first
time that we saw the offense maybe struggle to get
going compared to their way they've played in the two
previous games against the Cardinals and the Bills. And I
wonder if a lot of that is to do with
(42:16):
how these defenses that you're seeing are suddenly far more
aware of all the principles that are involved in the offense.
You're what you're trying to get to, even if the
offense isn't completely the same, and not everyone's got a
Tyreek Hill, and you know, not everyone's got a Pook
and the cooler the kind of principles of what you're
(42:38):
trying to do remain fairly similar, and these defenses see
it from training camp and then it all the way through.
So I think it does make it an interesting matchup.
But I think as it comes down to coaching, I
think I think it's coaches don't have to I think
(43:01):
she tried not to worry about coaching against the guy
on the other you know, against the head coach. That's
not what you're doing. You're going against their defense. So
I don't think it plays. I don't think it makes
it more important, but I do think it can change
the way that things have to go. And you have
to be open to being slightly more flexible on the
fly because say, I think these these defenses become used
(43:21):
to seeing some of the stuff that you're trying to do.
But we saw the Dolphins manage to unpick it against
the Rams. It'd be interesting to see what they do
this time. Was it last year Christmas Day they played
the the year before when they played the practice of
Christmas Day was a great start in that game, even
(43:45):
with those same things still applaying, So it will be
an interesting matchup to see how they go this time. Obviously,
we know what happened in the second half and why
that happened. But I think it's an interesting matchup. But
I'm very excited to watch the team play on on
Saints Giving. I must say I look forward to Thanksgiving
Day football even as a as a brit It's I
(44:06):
don't know. It's just a good day to get off
work early, get back and get in time to just
watch three straight games of football, usually with no pressure
because the Dolphins aren't playing, but this time with the
excitement of knowing our team kicks off in the Lake game.
Speaker 4 (44:22):
So is there any added pressure on Tour for this game?
You just mentioned him after both he and Jordan Love
signed their big contracts so close together on what a
huge payouts they were too. Any added pressure for Tour
on this game to perform, I think so.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
I don't think he will put any extra pressure on it.
I don't think he looks at things that way. He
seems far more grounded in concentrating on his own performance.
Will we see plenty of stories? I think we will.
Will we see plenty of in game stats about how
they match up? Yes, we definitely will, But I don't Again,
this is kind of similar to the coaching questioning. I
(45:00):
don't think it should be a problem, but I think
it becomes an obvious talking point because, like you said,
they signed those deals so close together. They're both expected
to be the faces of their franchise. There's certain ways
in which quarterbacks get connected. For tour, Jordan Love, it
would be because of the contract for tour. It will
(45:22):
be with Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert because
they were in the same draft class. That's just the
way the NFL works. You're hooked to those guys for life.
At that point. It's just something you have to put
up with and questions you'll have to answer every time.
But I don't think too will put any extra pressure
(45:43):
on himself. But we will definitely see plenty of in game,
in game stats and plenty of comparisons on the two.
Speaker 4 (45:50):
I think Jordan Love was in the same draft as well,
Wasn't he a bit? He was selected much lower in
the first round.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
I think it was, yes, And obviously he sat out
a year to start with as well, didn't he. He
kind of was behind Aaron Rodgers there obviously, But it's
you know, it's why these matchups are interesting. We'd love
to pitch quarterbacks against against each other. I just don't
think two are sitting at a home today worrying about
Jordan Love as much as worrying about the pack of defense.
Speaker 4 (46:17):
I don't think he's worried too much about the weather either,
and will come on to the weather forecast shortly. But
he said in his pressing yesterday to bring it on,
didn't he not just necessarily referring to playing in the cold.
But it's also got the narrative around a big game,
isn't it.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
Yeah? And I think a big Mike McDaniel doesn't shy
away from mentioning it. That. Look, people say these things
about the team because that's the performances they put on
the field, and they are warranted criticisms until they do
something about it. So, you know, kind of as two
was saying, as coach said, as Zack Seeler said, the
(46:56):
only way to do it is to go out there
and play football. And if they can play play the
game they've been playing, which we will get onto a
little bit in our part of the victories, you know,
they're going to go out and give themselves a chance
to win a game nationally televised, big game on the
road in the cold. There's a lot of boxes there
to tick for them. A big opportunity.
Speaker 4 (47:16):
Ahead, Yeah, massive opportunity to lay to bed those narratives
that are flying around at the minute, isn't it. And
there is so much at stake now that we're going
to hopefully see what they're made of. It's like not
an ideal environment, like you say, given the opponent and
the weather situation, but it is a massive opportunity to
(47:38):
put to bed any lingering narrative that will be there
around not being able to win the big games.
Speaker 1 (47:44):
Yeah. I mean, if you can answer these games now,
if you were to make it to the playoffs, beard
in mind, you will be going on the road as
a wild card team.
Speaker 4 (47:53):
And they're going to be going on the road, most
likely to a place that's going to be possibly similar
in temperature, because you're looking at probably the Chiefs, the Bills,
or the Steelers you would have.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
So you know, once you start to take that into account,
if you don't want to answer those questions, then quip
to bed now. And the opportunity is in front of
you to do that. And there's other games on the
schedule coming up as well. I think the Browns games
are Saturday. Is it Saturday at the moment?
Speaker 4 (48:20):
Yeah, it is a Saturday. Although there is the potential
to have that flexed, isn't It wouldn't be surprising.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
But we can't flex it out of Cleveland, so it
might still be colding Cleveland.
Speaker 5 (48:31):
Yeah, but yeah, yeah, So big games need big players, Lee,
So do we need to see a big Tyreek Hill
game for this one?
Speaker 1 (48:42):
I think a big Tyreek Hill game is coming. I
think he's been very patient. I think he's been a
great player this season in regards to still running every
route with one hundred percent conviction, still making sure he's
there doing his job blocking for other guys, still making
(49:02):
sure he's running the routes to get other guys open,
and being part of the team to make sure they
get these victories. He's also you know, he mentioned at
the beginning of the year, it's not about him. It
wasn't about getting to two k. It wasn't do you
know what I mean. It's all about getting victories, and
that's playing out. On the other hand, you want to
(49:23):
see Tyreek Hill have big games because it means good
things are happening for the Miami Dolphins. So I think
we will see Tyreek get more involved. I think there
was a period of yesterday's game where we saw it
a little bit where at the end of the first half,
and I mentioned this last week in regard to it
not being a trap game, but sometimes when a team
(49:43):
doesn't present enough of a challenge, this team can get
a little bit I'm not sure the word is, but
almost like hyper focused on trying to get a certain
player involved. It doesn't really work out. You get away
from just going to the open guy and going through
your reads and getting to your completions that way. I
(50:05):
think we saw it at the end of the first
half and two and mentioned he was upset with a
few balls that were put in dangerous positions, but I
think at that point they were trying to pick and
choose who they could get involved. I think it's going
to come naturally, and I think big stage calls for
a big player. So I do think we will see
a Tyre, a big Tyreek Hill game soon. But this
feels like all part of this building process that was
(50:27):
so different than last year when we saw them come
out the gates absolutely firing and all still in. There's
big games from Tyreek and Jalen till are throwing the
ball all over the yard, big plays all over the place,
highlight plays from the Vaughan and Raheem like, just all
over the place. This year seems to have been a
much steadier progression, obviously to a missing the four game
(50:50):
period plays a lot into that. But you know, if
we've mentioned it a few times, and I'm going to
mention it again in my path of victory. But you
know this, this the building throughout the season to the
point where you've got the ability to win in multiple
ways feels super important. And we will get a Tyrek
game coming up where he is the focal point because
(51:12):
at some point someone's going to say, I don't want
to have you beat me with a thousand cuts. You
know that that kind of death by a thousand cuts
approach where it's chain movers and short passes and short
runs and long drives. They're going to say, Okay, we're
going to try and stop that now and then we're
going to get back to that. You know, open looks
(51:35):
for some of those other guys. But that's the beauty
of the way this this team has evolved, that that's
the sort of pressure they're going to put on a
team at some point and someone will back down and say, okay,
we'll try it.
Speaker 4 (51:48):
That leads us nicely onto our path to victory. Then, Lee,
I think you've mentioned various aspects of the game coming up,
but where do you see the Dolphins or how do
you see the Dolphins winning this game?
Speaker 1 (51:58):
So I think on on defense, I'm going to say
something that I don't think you will can necessarily see
on a lot of podcast And I haven't read your
patter the victory, so you might say the same thing.
That'd be interesting, But I would actually maybe try and
make Jordan Love beat you through the air. And you
know quarterbacks that give big contracts are usually not quarterbacks
(52:21):
you want to see put the ball in the air
a lot. But you mentioned when talking about the Packers
ranked this season, they ranked third against the run, and
the the Dolphins have struggled at times against good run games. Well,
if you focus on trying to stop the run, which
is what they're best at. Jordan, I've also is second
in second in the NFL. I did write this down.
(52:43):
It's second in the NFL in interceptions throne. And he's
done that with missing games as well. The guys around him.
Was that statistic of all played every game. So he
puts the ball in danger. So maybe this is one
of those games where if you can find a way
to stop the run and get Jordan Loved to put
the ball in danger, we start to see some of
those interceptions in the back end. It'd be interesting to
(53:05):
see if Kendall Fuller returns this week and you get
a healthier secondary compared to the last couple of weeks
with him going down then obviously missing last week's game.
But it feels like a game where we might see
a lot of Jalen Ramsey and if that is the
route you choose to go.
Speaker 4 (53:23):
I didn't mention that specific point in my path of victory,
but I did touch indirectly to it. So great minds
think alike and all of.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
That the that's why we do a podcast together.
Speaker 4 (53:36):
Yeah, anything else you want to add on your path
to victory?
Speaker 1 (53:41):
Yeah? I mentioned earlier, and I think you know the
way the team has expanded the offense, and we've seen
them winning so many different ways. But maybe a good
way to win possibly cold weather game in the big
nationally televised game is to do what we've been saying
is to take this game that we think now has
(54:01):
evolved to the point where it could be taken on
the road, and take it on the road, and that
will be a nice complement of run and pass, long
sustained drives and short in the game like there's a
low scoring affair and you shorten the game like we've
seen a couple of times this season. I don't think
that's a bad thing. I think that is winning. Not
only is it winning football, it's like we said, football
(54:24):
that you can take to all weathers, all destinations. Playoff football.
They say fireworks are great, but sometimes just grounding a
pound in a victory is good with a run game
and some pepper passes as well.
Speaker 4 (54:41):
For me, in my terms of my path of ittory,
I think it's going to be a really difficult game
to win. You're away in the cold weather on a
short week against a playoff contender. Incidentally, the Packers have
a ninety percent chance of reaching the playoffs, so whilst
their playoff spot is almost assured, they do have seeding
still to play for. But the one thing that could
(55:02):
work in their favor is that and we've touched to
it a few times on the part is that now
Green Bay have got much more to consider on how
they gain plan against the Dolphins offense, which is clicking.
Do they try and stop the run? Do they flood
the middle of the field in the passing game to
take away Hill and Model? All open any questions that
whichever way they lean, the Dolphins need to be good enough,
(55:23):
and I think they argued enough to counter that and
take what the defense gives them so that if they
do take away the middle of the field, they can
rely on the running game. If they try and stop
the run, they can look to get Hill and Model
and Smith evolved more so it's exactly the kind of
thing you were saying as well, is that the Dolphins
offense has evolved enough now to be able to be
(55:44):
productive irrespective of the defense that they're now facing. So
it's almost like interesting to see which element of that
the Packers will focus on. So it's important to keep
sustaining long drives, as you've said, convert scoring opportunities, and
limit the chances the Packers themselves have on offense, which
is effectively what also you also said about shortening the game.
(56:09):
Now on defense, I think the Packers offer a similar
challenge to what the Rams offered in that they have
plenty of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball,
and it starts with Jordan Love of course, and they
have Josh Jacobs as there areb one and that could
be the route to a winning formula in terms of
trying to stop Josh Jacobs, as you say now, in
(56:32):
terms of their receiving corps, Romeo Dobbs was their leading
receiver in their win over the Niners on Sunday, but
he exited the game with a concussion, so it remains
to be seen whether he's going to be cleared for Thursday,
with it being a short week. Does that mean they
then have a depleted wide receiver corps remains to be seen,
of course, but it could be a bit of a
(56:53):
break for the Dolphins because the other receivers they have
in their roster, the likes of Jane and Reed, Christian
Watson and co. Have not necessarily been as producted. So
it might be that the Packers themselves will lean on
Josh Jacobs more than they would do normally, in which
case it could play into the Dolphins hands because you
put you put Ramsey against their leading receiver and you'd
(57:17):
fancy Ramsey every time, wouldn't you exactly? So they're kind
of my past of the eature as well. I think
we're both thinking along the same lines this week, aren't.
Speaker 1 (57:26):
We Absolutely yeah, usually over the bridge of path of victory.
But I was doing again doing my notes later.
Speaker 4 (57:34):
Well again you're allowed to because you're on holiday still.
So we talked about the weatherly, what's it going to
be like in green Bay this week? Oh, the press
guy is going to need to wear gloves again this time.
Speaker 1 (57:46):
I think they do do need to wear gloves. It's
predicted to be clowdy, but not snowy, minus two centigrade
around kickoff time, which I think is about one a
tembars one in the UK, so it is. Yeah, it's
going to be cold either way, just because it's nighttime.
Speaker 4 (58:04):
You'll probably see the green Bay Beat writers will be
sat there in a T shirt and trousers, and the
Miami Beat writers will be there in their their big
winter coats and hats and scarves and gloves, and Travis
will be wearing all of the above. Actually, Travis won't
even be at the game with you, I guess, unfortunately, But.
Speaker 1 (58:21):
No, I think he has his radio commitments in Miami.
But where can we watch the game?
Speaker 4 (58:27):
As you say, kickoff is one twenty GMT in this week,
the game is being broadcast live on sky Sports Main
Event and sky Sports NFL channels. Program starts at one
ten am, so shortly before kickoff. Plus there is the
usual game being broadcast on Game Past two. So that
(58:48):
brings us to the end of the show, Lee, is
there anything you want to add? I've got a couple
of things that worthy of a quick discussion, but anything
you wanted to bring.
Speaker 1 (58:58):
Up, No, that's everything from me this week.
Speaker 4 (59:01):
So just to let everyone know, Pro Bowl Games voting
is now open, so go online and vote for your
favorite Dolphins player to make the Pro Bowl Games. Now, Lee,
I wanted to ask you very quickly, which players do
you think are worthy of a Pro Bowl Game's first
team selection? And we're talking Dolphins players only, of course,
(59:21):
off the top of your head. Who springs to mind?
Speaker 1 (59:29):
I mean, I think, obviously I'm never going to say
two doesn't because he I think we just see how
valuable he is to this team and what he does
is so unique. I think you're always going to get
someone like Tyreek Hill in there, even if he hasn't
had as many of those big performances this year. I
think name recognition and talent alone, plus we know there's
(59:52):
plenty of more games for him to get those performances in.
But I think you see him there be interesting to
see if you see Clays Campbell or As actually get
there as well. Jayalen Ramsey as well. Jay Ramsey has
been playing some really good football this season as well,
so but I think there's opportunity for a lot of
Dolphins to go there. I think there's and there's good
(01:00:14):
fan support for it as well.
Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
I mean, I'm looking forward to Zach Seedy for a
nomination this year because, as we said on an earlier show,
he's not yet made a Pro Bowl and I think
his performances of certainly being worthy of a selection this year.
And of course you've got the normal names like Tour.
I think Devon ah Chan has got to be in
consideration this year, considering he's having a really good season.
(01:00:41):
Jalen Ramsey, as you say, has been liked out at times,
and I think he deserves some consideration, as has the
likes of Jordan Brooks, who's perhaps a bit of a
bit of an unsung hero he's been fairly steady and
consistent and certainly making an impact on that defense, and
he's one of the better free agent signings, as is
Aaron Brewer on offense. I think he's had a pretty
(01:01:03):
good impact as well. There's another name to potentially keep
an eye out for who is worthy of a selections.
Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
Absolutely and one name we lever has mentioned. So I'm
going to mention him right now because again I think
he's having an incredible season and I think it's one
of those positions that when you have a great season,
you don't get mentioned so much, and that's Ron Armstead
because I think arn Answered is playing good show. You know,
some of the best football he's played as well, which
says a lot for a guy with the career that
(01:01:30):
Terron Armst it's had.
Speaker 4 (01:01:33):
I can I think that's we just hit the Al Martlee.
I think that's going to bring the episode this week
to a close. Don't forget to check out all of
the Dolphins content on social media. The Dolphins UK channels
are bringing out some good fan related comment content on
game day, so keep an ey out for that, plus
the usual Travis Wingfield's drive time in the Feast Tank
Podcast too, and from us Lee. If there's nothing else,
(01:01:57):
we shall bid farewell. Enjoy the game everyone on Thursday,
and we'll catch you again next week on a happy birthday,
Brook
Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
