Speaker 1 (00:05):
L Huddle is a production of the NFL in partnership
with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
You know.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Touchdown well in.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Miami and Denver.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Wow, that is something. And somebody is wearing shades in
the studio with good reasons. So look at you well.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Dolphins fans will be accepting messages at the time we
can't come to the ball.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
You are living your best life. We are always living
our best life. Here on the l I'm gonna say
L Puddle L Huddle Podcasts. Maybe under the lights, I
was sweating a lot. My name is will Save alongside
my Ramana, my Prima, my pre Ermana, MJ I cost
out Luis and you heard that call there Here on
(01:11):
the L Huddle podcast, we celebrate the Latino culture as
well as the NFL and beyond. And wow, this was
something to see the seventy points put on the board
and the Dolphins were actually threatening to break the scoring record.
And it was interesting because we actually had Raheem Moster
(01:32):
on Good Morning Football and he said that he was
on the sideline and he said that he had spoken
to Mike McDaniel and he said to Mike McDaniel, Hey,
what do you think scoring record? And McDaniel had said, no,
bad karma, I don't want to do that interesting, and
Mostard said, okay, this is a lot about the kind
(01:54):
of guy that McDaniel is. Now, of course, there have
been people, there have been people who have looked at
the score and said they were running it up. But
all I will say to that of the game, no,
But all I'll say to that is that the Dolphins
were also doing this with their third and four string
running backs. They were running the ball. Denver wasn't able
(02:15):
to stop them at all. And so if you're Denver,
it's more of on you that you couldn't stop them.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Yeah, I mean, and you can't forget about the full
circle moment, right with coach McDaniel. His very first gig
in the NFL was that the ball boy for the
Denver Broncos.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
And to now put seventy on them in their home.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
I mean, it is just so sweet, so beautiful, you
know what I was thinking about though. They were talking
during the game about how hot it is on that sideline,
and it is not by coincidence that the visitors.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Sure, there's a distinctive vantage.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
There, but every Dolphins fan knows our favorite song that's
been around since the beginning of time.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Miami has so that plays every time there's a touchdown, and.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
I'm thinking of my fellow Miami Dolphins cheerleader sisters.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
It is a rigorous dance and they.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Had to do it yes, over and over.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
And best workout. I'm thinking of your girls.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
I hope that they also got the ice baths and
the compression sleeves and all of that stuff.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
All very very worth it.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
I told you will, I was deathly ill this weekend
by but.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
That would definitely gave me a booth.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
I mean whatever, I had sweated it out during that
Sunday game.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
And I mean at one point, and you know we
have multiple screens, I'm sure you do it.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Your own red zone wasn't.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
Even showing the Dolphins. They're like, yeah, I think you
guys know what the what the result is here? I
think we're good. Witching hour and no, Witching Hour wasn't
going to change the outcome of that game.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
But we're hearing now that Tua is in the early
onslaughts of MVP conversation.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Deserves it though, absolutely deserves it, and again it's early on,
but clearly he has put in the work most are
had also said the jiu jitsu stuff has worked out
because there have been a couple of instances where actually
those moves have helped him avoid a potential serious injury.
(04:26):
And we've said it over and over and it's all
dependent on his health. And here's what's interesting. Through these
three games, through the three games last season, his numbers
are identical the same I can't and they come at
(04:46):
you at waves, and the ball placement is top notch,
making all the reads and they do all this without
Jalen Wattle on top of it exactly. So for the Dolphins,
they deserve to be atop those rankings, right, I mean,
they have earned that. They're up there.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
That's it now, direct call to our friend Dan hanss.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Eric at home. Yeah, like like those guys pay attention.
And now looking ahead, you're gonna have the Dolphins and
the Bills, and the Bills are playing really tough nos
defense now that Sean McDermott is making the calls there
and they look good against the Commanders and Ron Rivera's guys.
(05:31):
Sorry Coach Rivera, but they look so good. Trelle Bernard
there with Milano, they look like they'll be ready to
face them, and this is gonna be a huge matchup
for both teams to see where Miami and Buffalo is
at because that first week was an outlier for Buffalo.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
And let's be clear within the division.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
When the the AFC East, those are the two teams
that everybody's watching abundantly clear, and their offense is clicking
as well.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Gabe Davis have him on my fantasy team. He's been
giving me twenty some points every week. Yeah, Stefan Diggs
can never be overlooked. He's doing as well.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
But I will say I want to go back to
Tua for a second because I posted on my Instagram
just over the years I've been able to interview him
and just talk to him, spend the time with him,
and I'm just so proud of him, not just as
a player, but as a man. What he went through
last season is unimaginable, I think.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
For anybody scared, very scary sure.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
For us to watch, let alone for him to live through,
to heal from, and to get back. So it speaks
to not just the person that he is, it speaks
to the athlete and the competitor that he is. I
remember he told me during the Super Bowl week when
I talked to him in Arizona last year and he
said to me, I love this game way too much,
and I've dedicated my life to it, not just to
(06:47):
the game, but the promise that I gave to this
team and to these fans. And I'm not going to quit.
I will not quit. And you always hear the phrase
adversity builds character. I mean, Tua has character in space.
So I'm very proud and I'm so happy. Beyond just
being a Dolphins fan, I'm a fan of tuas and
I think that he.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Has earned that respect from everybody across the league. I
don't care if it's only Week three.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
It's a testament to who he is and to how
he plays and to why the Dolphins went after him
and got him in a first round one.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Hundred percent agreed. Well said, and Tyreek Hill had said
it when he first went to Miami eight. Tua's legit.
Tua can throw the ball, because there was questions about
whether Tua could throw it deep, whether he has the
arm strength, the hints, all of that, and here he
is now He's in this system. And keep in mind,
second year in this offensive scheme, so now the comfortability
(07:42):
is way off the charts, more weapons, he's got a
great rookie running back. Now, I mean the guys were going, yeah,
it is. It is entertaining to see so early on.
They deserve all the accolades. And let's not forget they're
the chiefs who are still the chiefs in Lurking and
they put up a lot of points.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
Who seems to playing Germany?
Speaker 3 (08:05):
That's right, that's right. So that could be a game
where we see a ton of fireworks and obviously there
was a lot of fireworks within the stadium at Arrowhead.
Come on to see the one and only Tayte Taylor
Swift in the suite watching Travis Kelce. What was your
thought process?
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Okay, I'm gonna keep it real with you.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
I think this is the greatest marketing campaign since the Barbie.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Movie for Who, for both, For.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
Travis Taylor doesn't need any any kind of marketing.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
His followers went.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Up, of course, of course they did by like three
hundred thousand his jersey sales.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
Look, I love this for him, Don't get me wrong.
I'm here for every tidbit.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
And I always love a crossover between sports and pop
culture because I think they are go hand in hand
at all times. But the way that even folks, I mean,
I saw somebody's like sixty year old dad, which, by
the way, they were coming out heavy during the Eras tour.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
I love the girls that scene with all the dad
learning the Swifty.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Songs to take their daughters to the concert. So this
was like the perfect sort of embodiment of all of that.
But to see the effect she had, even who folks
who made me never even heard one of her songs,
you still know who she is.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
So good for you.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Taylor coming in there taking over a whole ass NFL
game unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
I don't care if it's not a real romance. I
don't know if it is or if it isn't. That's
their business, that amaze. They're grown folks live.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Did you see that video though, where there were a
ton of Kansas City Chiefs fans waiting outside the suite
to see her leave, and then people saw this big
old popcorn machine the size of a person.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
Well she was, she got.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Yes, and so it's it's funny and people want to
hate on Taylor Swift. And here's the thing, whether you
like her music or not, this was the way that
I felt about Oprah Oprah, I respect her to no end,
a legend, and what she's done in media. I wasn't
her audience, but that doesn't mean I hate her. She
just is not somebody's target demo. I'm not the target demo.
(10:11):
But that doesn't mean that I can't respect what she's
done in his career. So even if you don't like
Taylor Swift's music, her popularity is undeniable. And I've got
Swifties in my house and I do think the music
is great. If I didn't have Swifties, would I listened
to it? I don't know. But my point is like
(10:34):
I love that intersection as you mentioned of pop culture
and football.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
I do think that the breakup album is going to
be fantastic. All right, moving on, look, I wish well,
I hope that it is a beautiful if nothing else, friendship. Also,
we're glazing over the dusty relationship between Mama Kelsey and Taylor.
So that's what I was watching because they looked adorable
up the suite and cheering on Travis. If nothing else,
(10:59):
that's the relationship. I want to see bud and grow
and friendship bracelets, and that's what they did at the concert,
the whole nine.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
Very adorable, very very cute.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
For us, you guys, Yeah, no, absolutely. I mean the
popcorn video.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
If you're able to watch this, you see it. It
is funny because there are fans out with those cell
phones at the ready. How did that guy get getting
a glimpse? Who knows? But and then you have like
the big old, big old bag of popcorn.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
You know what it was. She probably wasn't in there.
They just use that as a decoy.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
Probably probably, but there was. There was video of Travis
and Taylor coming out and walking.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Did you have this on your bingo car to start?
Speaker 3 (11:48):
I did not. I did not. In all the while,
on the opposite side, the Bears and that offense, Oh
I got a mess. It is not fun to watch
DJ moore their new acquisition. He's just not getting involved.
Justin Field's getting dropped like crazy in all these fantasy
football leagues. It's not good. They had equipment stolen, so
(12:13):
it looks like it could potentially be a long year
for the Bears. But for us here on the Al
Huddle podcast, we have a special guest. It is forty
climb back Reading Warner. After all this time, we've been
wanting to have him on. We had his beautiful wife
Sydney on the podcast. We talked to him. We talked
(12:33):
him about rock Party, his welcome to the NFL moment,
and really leaning into his culture, Lucals DoD and what
that means to him. That's coming up on the AD podcast.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
A little.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
It always sounds way better in Spanish. That was from
the big win of the forty nine ers over the Giants,
and we talk about our perro MACHOs and our next
guest epitomizes what it means to be a perro macho.
He's young, he's talented, he's hungry, a perennial all pro.
(13:35):
Let's give a warm welcome to the l huddle familia
that we.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Warn what's up?
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Baby, Thank you, thank you, thank you. Wow. I mean
what an intro. I don't know how I even come
back from that.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
He's been practicing. He was ready. Actually, that was all
off the cuff.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
I love that and it was great having you on
the podcast. Fred, take care all right?
Speaker 5 (14:01):
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Yes, lad, I feel like this is been such a
long time coming, right, Like we've we've been wanting to
get you on the pod, but we wanted to make
sure we let you guys get off to the start
that we knew that this forty nine Ers team was
going to have, and then to open the seat the
home opener for the Niners in prime time, unbelievable game
did not disappoint. So you guys had a couple of
(14:22):
extra days, which to us sounds like a long time,
but we know in football life, it's not that long.
Right now, what is that locker room feeling.
Speaker 5 (14:32):
Man, We're just feeling really really confident, obviously, I think
to start three and zero and having two away games
to start the season. You know, we talked about it
all off season, wanting to come out to a fast start,
and that's.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Exactly what we've done.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
And you know, are we contend with where we're at, No,
absolutely not. You know, we got a long ways to
go from the team that we want to be, you know,
for the end of the season, and it's just about
having a growth mindset of continuing to want to get
better each and every week, trying to find those little
things that we can get better at.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Do you feel like there is a Super Bowl that
you have to try to reach your goal in or
is that something that you guys put in the back
burner and just concentrate on the present.
Speaker 5 (15:17):
Yeah, I think probably the latter, you know, just concentrating
on the president being exactly where your feet are. I
feel like our super Bowl window is every single year,
you know. I think ever since I got here, that
was always the expectation. You know, you talk about the
question for six right in the history of winning super
Bowls here with the forty nine ers, so that's always
(15:39):
been been the expectation.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
You know, we were close a couple of times.
Speaker 5 (15:43):
But close doesn't get you that trophy, so we got
to make sure we get all the way there and
not only just getting there, but wanting to win it.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
Oh of course.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
I mean I remember just being there, being so close
with you guys back in twenty nineteen heading into that
twenty twenty year. I know right now you're focused on
the present, Fred, but we want to take it back
with you just a little bit, because we just watched
your NFL hometown heroes and yet as part of the
campaign here for his Latino and his Carritage month with
the NFL, and it was just so great to see
(16:14):
another layer, right, to see that little slice that you
led us into with your family, your Mexican and Panamanian
background so beautifully infused there. We saw it also in
the beautiful piece of the forty nine Ers put together,
which we ran a couple of weeks ago. Serena who
works on the field, literally on the ground for the
forty nine ers, another Latina killing it. But it's just
(16:34):
so beautiful to see where it started, where it came
from for you. How important was that upbringing for you
to have strong women, strong Latinas backing you up.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Yeah, it was.
Speaker 5 (16:47):
It was crucial and it was almost everything I think.
I talk about the strength of my mother and the
thing that was that was cool that they were able
to shoot in that video was my grandmother as well.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
She lived right next door to me, to me, my mom.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
And my siblings all growing up, and she was the
one in charge of doing the breakfast every morning, the
exit cortilla of the dinners because my mom was always
off at work, you know, so she held it down
for us, and man, they molded me and my siblings
into who we are today. It kind of taught me,
just like that work ethic of my head down, staying
(17:23):
humble and continuing the work.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Fred what was a cultural experience that you had growing
up that stays with you.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
Now, let's see.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
Wow, so many I'm sure.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
I know that's what I'm saying. I'm like, I don't
know Je's you know. I think honestly, the in the.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
In the Latino and Mexican heritage background. I mean, family
is such a huge It's a huge deal, right, And
my family was very big on on family, the importance
of family, family being number one one. And that's that's
exactly how I've carried over into my my new family
now obviously me and my wife, you know, starting our
(18:13):
own family at some point in the future.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
But I mean, family is so.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
Important to us and how we want to, you know,
build that foundation of our family as well as obviously
incorporating at all all the families altogether.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
So I know I often call you little Bro, but
I feel like I should call you primo.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
Right?
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Did did you grow up with about five thousand primos
like I did?
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Or was it from all over? Play all over?
Speaker 5 (18:38):
You know, don't matter where they're at.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Fred, When people see your name, they say Fred Warner.
They look at my name, and we joked around about it.
Will Selva, Oh that's not Latino, but Spanish was my
first name. So when people look at your name and
Fred Warner and they say, whoa wait a second, you're Latino.
(19:02):
What are people's reactions when you tell them, yes, indeed
I am.
Speaker 5 (19:08):
Yeah, you know, I got to tell them, you know
that my first name is Sted equals so I want
to get in like that's pretty much as you know.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
As you get right there.
Speaker 5 (19:17):
But yeah, I mean, there's obviously some mixed reactions when
I do let people know, but it is such a
big part of me, and I'm proud of, you know,
the mix of different cultures within me.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
Yeah, you know, so preach, preach Fred.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
We talked about like the intersectionality and the spectrum of
Latini rave here and how it doesn't always look like
what mainstream has wanted to portray as what Latinos should
look like and what they do look like. And so
now I think people are finally starting to see a
little bit more and understanding that the Latino spectrum is
so wide and so vast, and we look all sorts
(19:56):
of different ways, and yes, you can be black and
Latino and they can coexist at the same time.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
And in many many of our countries it does speaking.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Of I have this vivid image in my mind from
last year's international game in Lasa, Mexico and Estadia Steka
of you running down the ramp onto the field proudly
holding the Mexican flag. I got chills in that moment.
Take take us there from your side, just getting ready
holding that flag to run onto the field to hear
(20:26):
the Niners fans in that stadium.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
I mean, that entire experience was so special, and I
didn't know it was truly going to be a moment
that was gonna stay with me forever. You know, even
in that moment of me holding the Mexican flag and
running out onto the field with it. You know, did
I understand the gravity of the situation.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
In that moment. I don't think so. You know, I
think it actually happened afterward when I kind.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
Of saw the fan reaction, the you know, people talking
about it either on social media or just around and
how big of an impact it had, And so it's
something that will stick with me forever. It was so
cool being out there in Mexico. The fans were insane.
I was supposed to be an Arizona cardinval home game.
Unfortunately for them.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
From the fact it was very much a home game
for us, and it was. It was amazing.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
Now we had your lovely wife Sydney on this podcast.
She is smart, she's driven, she's talented, and there's you
the same thing. Really, you guys make us sick. You
guys are so great. No, we we love that. Now
you guys are kind of having this show your own life. Yeah,
(21:45):
the Warner House. Now, how has that been like? Because
we asked her, what's fred cool revealing and not revealing?
Because sometimes listen, as football players, you don't want to
reveal too much. Maybe sometimes they're like, I don't want
to touch upon that. So what do you decide is
cool to talk about and not cool to talk about?
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Yeah? I mean, first of all, you know, she is
my better half, you know, have her in.
Speaker 5 (22:14):
My life, and we go through kind of what we
want to what we want to touch on before we
go into a show or a podcast or whatever you
want to call it. But you know, I try to
be as open and as transparent as I can, you know,
for the people watching or listening and even talking more
so about stuff.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Off the field than on the field. You know, like, yeah,
I get my input in my you know, my little.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
Analysis of different plays that may have happened the week before.
But I also want to talk about things off the
field that may interest in your other people that.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Listen to the podcast. So it's kind of just trying
to get.
Speaker 5 (22:49):
You, uh, you know, a different lens, a different view
of how our lives are off the field.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
Okay, so let's get into the game day fits real quick,
because you go from a three piece suit to ath
leisure to streetwear. What like, how do you pick depending
on the game. Is it a primetime decision?
Speaker 5 (23:08):
You know, I try to take care of the decision
or as early as I can, because you hate having
to do something last minute, you know, trying to kind
of kind of conjure up an outfit last minute. You know,
I've kind of turned my my regimen to like now
if I'm on a on a way trip, i wear.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
Too from at home.
Speaker 5 (23:27):
I try to do something a little bit more casual
or something that I'm a little more comfortable in at home.
So you know, that's kind of like that going back forward,
because my worst suit every game, it's like that's a
lot of suit, so I can, like, you know, it
adds up kind of quick so, you know, I try
to mix it up a little bit here and there.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
Spoots soup sponsorship coming.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
Yeah, there you go, always like a really great though.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Right.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
So we all saw on the podcast we had your
guy George Kittle on and George was actually speaking a
few words in Spanish, eager to talk, and it was
an anticipation of the game in Mexico City. We asked
Sidney about your des desire to speak Spanish and that
maybe someday you would maybe do an interview in Spanish
(24:11):
if you could. Is that something that interests you?
Speaker 4 (24:15):
Now, we're not gonna ask you right now, don't worry.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
Right on the spot in one thousand percent is something
that I want to do.
Speaker 5 (24:24):
And obviously I gotta get better like I can, you know,
kind of pull pull together a few words to string
a long sentences.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
But I for sure got to.
Speaker 5 (24:33):
Get get down in in my dual Lingo or my
Rosetta stone.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Try to you know, give my give my my Spanish
up a little bit.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
You got to tutors you can practice with right here
for a free ninety nine. Fred, we got you, Yeah,
we got you. Before we let you go, we got
to ask you about your quarterback rock party. How proud
are you of what he's doing, although I know that
from the locker room standpoint, no one is surprised.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Yeah, super super proud of him.
Speaker 5 (25:02):
And I know this is just the start forum that
people forget, like how young and how young he is
in his career. You know, he's just getting started and
he got thrust into into a big time position last
year as a as a mystery relevant you know, last
pick of the draft rookie, And I mean you talk
about just the poise and having having the right mindset,
(25:22):
you know, having his head on straight, not worrying about
the wrong things and just focusing on the here and
now and the things that he needs that he can control.
I mean, he's as dialed in as I've ever seen
a young player be and that's exactly what you want
at that position. So, uh, you know, he's grown into
into a quiet leader for the team. That's why he
was named the captain. You know, guys really respect him
(25:44):
in the way that he works and we're gonna need
him to continue to play.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
Really well, you're a captain as well, and you have
shown that leadership over the years. But when you were
a rookie, you had to prove yourself. What was your
welcome to the NFL moment when you were a rookie.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Man, I mean I had a bunch. I probably had
a bunch of them, you know.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
That rookie year it seems like it flies by, but
I mean when you're in.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
It, it's like so long, because.
Speaker 5 (26:14):
You're swimming from like the Senior Bowl and then to
the draft and off thirty visits, all these different things
and then right into a season. I think my welcome
to the NFL moment was being on the road my
first ever start game one of the season against Minnesota.
And we actually played Minnesota again on the road this
season for the first time ever since I played in
(26:35):
that stadium back in twenty eighteen, and so that'll be
fun playing there again. But I think being there here
in the horn in the Minnesota Viking Stadium was It
was a surreal moment. So then I'll always remember and
that was probably my welcome the NFL moment. Oh.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
I love that, And I love that it's coming full
full circle this year.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
Friend.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
To watch your arc not only as a player but
as a man off the field has been an absolute
joy for us. We can't wait to see what's now.
We know we're just getting started. Thank you so much
for coming on and being part of the El Huddle familia.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Thank you so much. Fred fed that record.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
Thanks Brad. We appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
Thanks Brad, You're the best.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
You gotta guys, thank you. We're not playing.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
We're not playing.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
This ain't a game, bro.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
You seven seven grade. You gotta get hit every single play,
put in the first to the last. Hey, stay aside.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
It is dead no matter what.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
They gotta feel it. Our efforts, our physicality, every snap,
every play. We're the best in the world.
Speaker 5 (27:40):
That's a film at tonight, Bobo nine Okay, commasin touchdown
this Daniel so's that Prinsco.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
Guys, see you ride.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
Extraudly Nadia.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
The Cardinals with the upset there and the Cowboys having
issues in the red zone. And Dak spoke to reporters
about the loss, and he had basically said that we
the media, yeah, that we were happy about this. Check
us out, y'all.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
Put us on top of the world. We knew, we
know who we are.
Speaker 6 (28:35):
And in that same sense, I'm sure the media got
got what they wanted, uh for us that hadn't been
but one one undefeated team in this league ever ever,
So uh yeah, it sucks, it's humbling, but to say
it's a wake up call. We knew we had a
lot of adversity and we just just didn't get it done.
(28:55):
And I think it just goes back to to myself,
the offense and the red zone. So I mean, we
get better at there, we win this game, but uh,
we've we've got to fix that area period.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
I mean, there was a nineteen seventy two Miami Dolphins
Dakota and you know, I'm a I'm actually the Saxon
though fan. You know this support dak big pound table
form when he was trying to get that on all
of it, even to the stay but come on, really
we did this. I think he's speaking to is the
expectations sure or.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
The talking heads that elected.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Debate however, Like I gotta hear the question because that
just seems like what are we doing here?
Speaker 4 (29:39):
Like you can't poain the media for the loss?
Speaker 3 (29:41):
No, no, not at all, and listen to the Cowboys
had been outscoring opponents seventy to ten in those first
two weeks and the Cardinals just took it to him. Yeah,
and also the play calling from Mike McCarthy said he
had regrets about not being more aggressive on first and
second down. So I do think there's going to be
(30:01):
brighter days ahead for the Cowboys. The Trayvon Diggs loss,
I think that's a big one for them. But honestly
that I don't think there's anybody in media who is
actually rooting for the Cowboys to lose. No, that's not
what's happening there. I'll tell you though, where there's a
little bit more concern is in Las Vegas where the Raiders.
(30:23):
We saw they lost to the Steelers, and this is
what DeVante Adams had to say after the game, not
just about the loss, but in general what he perceived
as the culture with the Raiders. I don't act like.
Speaker 7 (30:39):
He's all crazy. You know, it's week three, but I
got time to wait around, you know. I mean, it's
not a personal thing. I mean, it is a personal thing,
but it ain't just about me.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
But I mean, it's not my.
Speaker 7 (30:49):
Mentality in the city here, and try to take all
season to figure it out. You use these early games
like this to establish our identity, and we are we're
not doing things the right way to establish a winning culture.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
Early in the season.
Speaker 7 (31:01):
So we got to do something to turn that around,
doing something about it so that when we go out
there next time it looks different. It's not supposed to
just be a week of just talking.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
About you got to go out there and do it,
you know.
Speaker 7 (31:11):
That's that's the that's the theme of this year is
doing it, not just talking about it and figuring out
what we need to do. We did all that last year.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
This year we got to be about it.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
That's not good.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
I mean, look, he's not wrong, not good. He's not wrong.
I hear him and a lot you have to remember
when he first got there, a lot has changed drastically.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
Yes, well, Derek carr N, we saw Josh Jacobs, he
was unhappy. Chandler Jones is dealing with personal issues and
now your star player, and Jimmy g was looking for
him early and often, so he was getting fed the ball.
But for him to talk about the culture already, there's
(31:55):
a big disconnecting, There is a massive disconnected. There is
some concern there for for the Raiders now what they
do moving on and what this says about you know,
Josh McDaniels and how he's viewed in that locker room.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Right and look, Tay has never been a guy mint
to mince his words or to He keeps it a
buck all the time, and he's frustrated and you can tell,
and I think rightfully so, I think, especially when you
think about those last minutes of the game and how
the game even ended, it's a lot to take in.
I know that a lot of guys and even our
own analysts here at the NFL Network will say, you
(32:34):
keep family business in the house.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
I think that less and less players are buying into that,
and they're saying, no, if you're asking me a question,
I'm going to answer you, and I'm going to stop
giving you the cookie cutter answers. And this is how
I really feel about it. And I feel that sometimes
that actually reverse engineers the issue, right, Like it hits
different when somebody within the organization hears you talking about
(32:59):
it and you're not shy about it and you're just
going to call a spade a spade.
Speaker 4 (33:04):
Everybody follows that path, but you know what, you got
to live your truth.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
But something has to change, And to Tay's point, it
can't be just the same thing every week. There should
be a difference. There should be an improvement if you
want to keep.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
Winning, absolutely, and the way that you keep winning is
you have guys who we characterize who we call perro macho.
For me, a perro macho has to be TJ. Watt,
(33:39):
who is an absolute record on defense, doesn't matter if
there's double teams. Two sacks got to Jimmy and I
feel like we just take him for granted. His brother
JJ said that he's the best best defensive player in
the league. I think Michael Parsons might have a say
in this, So he's a beta romacho. Another betro macha
(34:01):
for me is Miles Garrett. Now, Miles Garrett is is
an absolute force. As I am hearing the dog barking
in my ear, I I I look at Miles Garrett
and and what he does to opposing offenses where the
Tennessee Titans actually had their tight ends shadowing him rather
(34:26):
than the other way around. So when when you have
a player like that, who's part of right now what
looks like a top five defense and they have only
given up one offensive touchdown, Yeah, those are perromachos right
there with right within that division, with Miles Garrett and TJ.
Speaker 4 (34:45):
Watt, I agree. I don't think it's any surprise. What
power is this week?
Speaker 3 (34:52):
Let's do bla power, Come on Latin power.
Speaker 1 (34:57):
There's no other there's no other option here, I mean,
but if I have to pick one, it was Devon
a Han two hundred and thirty three total yards, four
total touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (35:13):
Have a freaking day.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
Not only him to pick everybody went off.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
Everybody.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
Everybody had mangouros, you name it.
Speaker 4 (35:25):
They had quadruple helpings and platanos that day. They were
ready to go.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
And know, if you're asking yourself, dear listener, I will
never be over this.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
Let me have this.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
I'm holding on to dear life because it's a week
by week basis here in the NFL. But man, if
you're Dolphins fans like me.
Speaker 4 (35:43):
Have even mongo. You know, we don't talk about enough.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
And if you haven't had mulfungo, run, don't walk.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
Go get your right right now.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Yeah, you know.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
As we wrap up today, Will friend of the show,
family member of the show, quite literally poppy.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
Yeah, talking about how he's doing great.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
He just celebrated ironically his seventieth birthday, young man, and.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
Some of my aunt and uncle because he has a
lot of siblings.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
Yeah, a few of them celebrated with him watching the
Dolphins game, got him a Dolphins cupcake cupcake cake on
the day the Dolphins put up seventy.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
Points and we know he's a Buffalo Bills only for him.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
To be a Bills fancy.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
I think they did troll him a little bit with that,
which I appreciate.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
But are you guys gonna be talking to each other?
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Oh we haven't. He was texting me the whole game.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
Okay, but but but now though this is for real, he.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
Does root for them, But next week we have to
be friends.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
Off right, right?
Speaker 4 (36:45):
Friends off for the I mean twice a year, we're
so we'll see. Yeah, but happy birthday dad, A little belated.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Yeah, but I told him.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
I was like, this is a this is a message,
all right.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
My Bonto is also a friend of the show. Now, uh.
Fred Warner, Feder Warner was so great to have on.
And you see how he is really embraced what we
call Latini that right, and he's he's very much so
proud of his upbringing, of his mom, of his grandmother
(37:26):
and how they were such forces in his life and
those have have driven him to the highest of highs
in the NFL. And you know, we say let's moues
latinas song.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
Always and you could tell that that was his backbone
for sure. Loved having Fred, love chopping it up always. Man,
the season just keeps on rolling it. This is what
we've had through three weeks. My god, I can't go
see what's next. We will be back with you next week.
