Not to mention it was a crazy week at vMac.
It wasn't like it was a chill thing going into it. Yes,
there was a bye week, but the Seahawks moved on
from Tyrell Dotson starting center, Cornor Williams retired, Abe Lucas
made his return. So they are all these question marks.
Everything around came back. A lot going on, but the
Seahawks got it dying coming into this game. I mentioned
the Seahawks has lost six consecutive games with the forty

nine ers, and in those games, the Seahawks got behind
early and often halftime. Of those games, the Seahawks trailed
by a combined score one to four to thirty six.
The Hawks only led one time in that stretch at
halftime that was a twenty twenty two wildcard game and
trailed by double digits in four of those six games,
but the tide finally changed on Sunday.

and then the offense followed that up with a nine

taking their first lead.

ers responded with a great drive of their own. They
go twelve plays seventy one yards, ending with a ten
yard touchdown scramble from Brock Party, making the score seven
to three San Francisco. The Hawks will punt on the
next drive, but their defense will come up big two
plays later with a Devin Witherspoon deflection going to Christian

McCaffrey and the big man, Jonathan Hankins gets up hands
catch and he ain't try to run. He went straight
down to the ground and goes, I don't do this,

I love to see his version. He got up, they

advantage of the great field position. They would go have

and you're gonna have a chance. You opening drive of
the second half started with disaster on third and eight
from the Hawks seventeen yard line. Gino was intercepted by
Isaac Jittam. He was rolling to his left side. I
believe he was looking towards There was Jason over there.

DK over the top. I think he got caught in.
Like where am I going with this football? Jason was
working back at sealed over his head, dB over there,
cop that thing and you start to stress out a
little because we've seen this before. But thankfully, the Seahawks
defense got a huge stop, holding the forty nine ers

me was the defense. Yep, going against that team who

a Ken Walker touchdown that was set up by a
big third down conversion.

Gino Smith found dk metcalf and then Walker's touchdown made
the score thirteen to ten.

I was on trolling the Niners today, okay, and now
really just watching, just watching the chaos go down, and
they're complaining about that catch he was out about. Listen,
he got two in Okay, playing his day. You can
complain about the JSN catcher whatever, but that one not.

I was good to go. But the Niners will respond
in a big way.

Brock Prady would find Dwan Jennings, who had himself a
good day, for a three yard touchdown after fourteen play
seventy yard drive.

It was on that drive the forty nine ers were
able to convert three third downs, including two separate third
and elevens. We ended up not liking that number third eleven.
We saw it a lot like three times. I think
they converted two of them. That made the score seventeen
and thirteen. San Francisco. The Hawks will try to respond,
but once again came up short. I'm in short yard situation.
On third and one from the niners forty seven yard line,

Gino was stopped on the QB sneak. He wasn't stopped.
That was a first down. That was a first down.
Very next play, Zach Charbonney, he gets stopped. That was questionable.
We could argue that one. But both of those I
felt like they got them both times. I think Gino
was for sure. The Sharbonne one, okay, we can argue
that would have been.

Yeah, that was tough because when you look at the
spot where the balls initially spotted, it was clear as
at he had the first down.

I don't love how quickly that process happened, because they know,

just don't know how you can review and confirm in

they stepped up once again, and honestly, I don't want

and I think McCaffrey had like a nine or eight
yard gain on the very next play following.

big reception from dk Metcalp two big time third down
conversions to Jsim and then Gino did the rest with
his legs, had a sixteen yard scramble. My man was
like he was jogging like he was so calm and composed.
I'm like, Gino, what are you doing? Are you gonna
get down? He gets down at the final moment and
then had a thirteen yard touchdown capping off eleven play

eighty yard drive made the score twenty to seventeen, twelve
seconds left on the clock, and he gave him the
go to sleep, not big ups to a Curry in
the base Steph Curry and that plays for the Wars.
So it was good man twelve seconds left and it
was a weird play at the end.

Yeah, well what is it when you if you watch,
if you're a fan of ESPN and Scott vanpel he

that was. But the Seahawks defense all over it.

In the play before, I think they tried to connect
with Deebo Samuel and Devin Witherspoon, who we're gonna talk
about put him in the ground. Ended that thing and
Derek Hall comes down with the football. The Seahawks get
the win on the losing streak in Santa Clara. And
here's the crazy thing you want to talk about the
defensive two games after giving up four hundred and eighty
three total yards two hundred and twenty yards in the

first matchup against forty nine Ers, the Seahawks huge improvement
the Niners to just two hundred and seventy seven yards
and one hundred and thirty one yards rushing. The Seahawks
were also only penalized four times on the day bump
and they weren't penalized on the offensive line.

I think ten or eleven, and I think that was
something that the Niners were crying about. I go, listen, man,
this is an NFL season. Things aren't always gonna go
your way. Guys are gonna be banged. U. We've experienced that,

We've experienced that, you're gonna be up, You're gonna lose.
We've experienced that. So it feels good. I didn't even
go to watch Niner Twitter and all that stuff to engage,

like look at those guys over there.

It feels good because it's back to what it used

was lots of playmakers touching.

Holy, We're gonna start off with the quarterback. Gene no Smith.
We talked about him. He was twenty five to thirty
two two hundred and twenty one yards, went an interception,
but had four carries for twenty nine yards in the
game winning touchdown. This was Gino's tenth game winning drive
since twenty twenty two. Waited for this could confirm it
last night, but now that is tied for second most

in the NFL.

He was third. He has ten.

I believe a couple of people have ten, So he's
right there second now in the NFL game winning drives,
which just shows you the clutch nature of Gino Smith.
He also passed Rick Meyer for fifth place on Seattle's
all time passing attempts list one thousand, five and twenty four. Now,
this one was so sweet to me, Bump, because Gino
takes a lot of bullets, He should a lot of arrows.
His dealt with so many different things, and for him

to engineer that drive and for him to be the
one to take it on his own. He had a
big sixty yard scramble before that, and it gets a
thirteen yeard touchdown to seal the deal.

Emotion he felt when he threw the ball into the stands,
like I just I love to see it because Gino
has been through a lot and he's a good quarterback.

I'm looking in the crowd. I went back and slow
mowed several times to look at all the faces in
the crowd and Geno to celebrate him. Happy for that guy.
He does more than what people really understand and appreciate.
So big up Geno. Next up JS and Man ten receptions,
one hundred and ten yards, first time in his career

he had back to back one hundred yard games.

His third one hundred yard game of the season.

I believe he's up to six hundred and seventy something
yards three touchdowns this year. Low Key is on pace
to having a thousand yard season. And there was a
time during this year where people were questioning could he
be the number two? Could he be the robin to
DK's batman or vice versa, And I think the past
two weeks he's proven that. My thing is I wanted
to see him do that with DK in the lineup

r and he did exactly that. DK still had a
good game, two seven catches for seventy yards, but it
was nice to see Jason shine on those third downs
two and what I'm seeing that is he is beginning
getting more comfortable just moving guys.

There was a third down early in the game where
the flat defender is going to the right.

He could have just hitched up.

Then I'm going to hitch up. The little things in
his route running is coming to life now. It's you
love to see it.

We've talked about Jayson a Ton this year and we've
known he's got the skills. There's a reason why he
was drafted where he's drafted. So it's cool to see
this whole offensive elope whether it's DK, whether it's Jasen
with Ryan Grubb and everyone working together doing some good things.

six solo, led the team in tackles, and just a
physical nature. He is just a presence on the field.
He's got that green dot now and the communications on point.

So now that he's had almost it'll be a month,
I believe next week in a Seahawk uniform practicing here
he's playing. He's an all pro, all pro caliber pro
bow type player. Yep, you watch him play. I love
team what Ernest is doing.

I like when they zoom up on him before the
snap and the intensity in his eyes. My man is like,
I'm locked in, I'm ready to go. And I would
assume that having the green dot, he has to communicate
with everybody. He's becoming a leader on this defense. He
has to be a leader on this defense. So the
more deposits he makes with thirteen tackles, the more yes,
he is going to lead this ball club. Tyree's Knight

happy for this young man. First time in a while,
nast I looked at the box score and two linebackers
led the charge in tackles. Knight was the other guy.
Ten tackles, one quarterback hit. He didn't seem overwhelmed. There
were times where I felt like, oh, he got beat
on that play. Everybody gets beat, especially playing against Niners,
a good football team.

But at no point did he seem overwhelmed.

I never looked at him and just scratched my head
and thought to myself, what are you doing?

Every time I looked at him, He's in the right position.

on defense when it comes to tackles.

Tyres Knight had himself a good day.

We heard from Ad the defensive coordinator for the Seahawks,
and he talked about the maturation and the growth Knights
had from early this season to now.

He said it was night and day. No pun intend

But the thing for me, though, is like that first
game he played against the Patriots, you gotta think he
couldn't have gotten all the reps that we can practice.
Darn Baker gets hurt and all of a sudden you're
in the thick of it and you're going right now.
He's had some time to set back, watch guys play,
play with a guy like Ernest Jones alongside of him,
and you knew you were gonna be the guy all week. Yep,
you had a whole week of preparation. To your point,

he fit right in. So I love to see the
rookie Tyrese Knight doing his thing and then Devin Witherspoon boom.
You want to talk about energy, He's been that since
the Dave step foot in Seattle. We know that about
Devin Witherspoon, but this was his most impactful game in
my opinion. Eight tackles, three passes defended. One of those
people U's led to an interception. He was active with
his pressures. He's just a different dude out there, whether

he's in the slot, whether he's outside, And honestly, he
could have had a couple more deflections. If jennings And
makes some amazing plays, man.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
Man, he was on his hip. Gennis has made some plays, man.

But Witherspoon, that is the dude that we know who
he is, and that's the dude that makes him a
difference maker on this defense. And when he's playing like that,
good luck.

I see my man in between the tackles a couple times,
mixing it up in the box.

I'm like you a buck eighty five getting up in there.

This was a game that he needed, and I think
that the Towels needed to remind themselves, like he's a
good football player. Sometimes with dbs, if they're not making
interceptions or past defect deflections, then you lose them and
you can assume they're not having a good year. But
every time Mike MacDonald and Aady talked about spoon. They
liked where he was, so it was nice to see

him put it out there for the world to see.
This one I was the most excited about. We've talked
about a lot of guys balling out. Abe Lucas and
Ola with Timmy had themselves a day. Shout out to
both of these guys. Man Abe Lucas played in forty
two snaps. Forty two snaps and he looked like he
didn't skip a beat. I'm just hoping his body's okay.
Ola with Timmy played in every single snap and he

looks good. I saw him get beat maybe one time,
and I went to big ups the guards as well.
I think Anthony Bradford had a better game, and I
think Thomason had a better game. If they don't have
better games, it's hard for Olu to have the game
that he had as well. So big to that offensive
line sack four times. I believe Gino was hit six
or seven times, but they did enough and uh Olu

led the charge.

This in no way looked like the first matchup where
Nick Bosolone had fourteen pressures and was under fire from
the jump. There's plenty of times I felt like Gino
actually had a relatively clean pocket to work.

How Gino is progressing and he goes through every one
of his progressions.

So how do you do that? You need to have

JSN had ten receptions on eleven targets for a buck
ten DK had nine targets seven receptions for seventy yards,
Tyler Lockett at two for nineteen, AJ Barnard two for fifteen,
Kenneth Walker two for five, Zach Charboney.

Overall, this group averaged eight point eight yards per catch.
Jackson average eleven DK eleverage ten yards or average ten
yards per catch.

You know the cool thing I like about this with
the top weapons Tyler Lockett two receptions on three targets,
DK Metcalf seven receptions on nine targets, Jackson Smith the jig,
but ten receptions on eleven targets. That shows that it's
the accuracy is there that they're making receptions. It's not
one of those where yeah he had one hundred and
ten yards, we got targeted forty five times back, you

know what I mean. So love to see that from
Gino Smith and the rest of the receivers. So looking
good there. That brings us to the play of the game.
I'm sure you guys know what I'm gonna go here.
It's the last drive of the game. Geno Smith taking
the Seahawks down the field. I'm sure twelve's everywhere we're
panicking as the time is running out. No, this man
was cool, calm and collected. Gino Smith getting it done, you.

Know, gets them back to the line of scrimmage.

Yeah, this was this great decision making right made the
decision not to force anything. He has three receivers Gino
and Shotgun. Three receivers to the left of them, two
to the right. I love how they put DK Metcalf
closer to the line, excuse me, to the offensive line
at that number three receiver spot with AJ Barner on
the outside of him, just to give a different look
and try to get into a spot from a different area.

On the other side, you got a little switch route
going on. That means that the outside receiver goes in,
inside receiver goes out. And now on the left side
of the Geno you have DK Metcalf to the flat
and you got AJ Barner work in the middle of
field and then a shallow You got to give the
Niners credit here, they played this perfectly. Everything was on lock.
You got Fred Warner roaming in the middle of the field.
That's where they went wrong. He went to the field side.

That's the wide side of the field naturally to help
out with that combination over there, Gino felt some pressure,
stepped up, kept his eyes down the field and saw
that everybody was locked up. They had man on man,
bodies on bodies over there. So then he says, I'll
go ahead and do this thing myself, and he glides
in that end zone.

What I love about this bump, So time and score.
Seahawks are trailing thirteen to seventeen. There's twenty one seconds

this is our best game of the year. Might not
be statistically, but given the opponent. They only gave up
one play of twenty yards in the game. Stopping the
explosives held Christian McCaffrey to under one hundred yards and
the forty nine ers team under three hundred yards. That
hasn't been done in this whole stretch. So to see
them make that step against that team needed to happen.

the football in between plays. There is that one where

and Gino drops a dot and you could easily get

He continues to take steps forward and mature man. You
know what it is. I saw him at Starbucks and

out of there. That's how you do it, man, big As,

you don't win this game, the season looks a bit different.

I know they've lost a lot of games up to
this point, which is still in it. The vision is
still locked up Cardinals at the top, but you are
back in the mix.

Not to mention it was a crazy week at vMac.
It wasn't like it was a chill thing going into it. Yes,
there was a bye week, but the Seahawks moved on
from Tyrell Dotson starting center, Cornor Williams retired, Abe Lucas
made his return. So they are all these question marks.
Everything around came back. A lot going on, but the
Seahawks got it dying coming into this game. I mentioned
the Seahawks has lost six consecutive games with the forty

nine ers, and in those games, the Seahawks got behind
early and often halftime. Of those games, the Seahawks trailed
by a combined score one to four to thirty six.
The Hawks only led one time in that stretch at
halftime that was a twenty twenty two wildcard game and
trailed by double digits in four of those six games,
but the tide finally changed on Sunday.

What had happened, what happened at first run?

But it started as good as it could be for
the Seahawks get a three now in the first possession defensively,
and then the offense followed that up with a nine
play forty four yard drive ending win the fifty two
yard field goal from Jason Myers, making the score three zero,
taking their first lead.

Fifty two man, he just says me, Myers, man, looking
like that Pro Bowl that we know. The forty nine
ers responded with a great drive of their own. They
go twelve plays seventy one yards, ending with a ten
yard touchdown scramble from Brock Party, making the score seven
to three San Francisco. The Hawks will punt on the
next drive, but their defense will come up big two
plays later with a Devin Witherspoon deflection going to Christian

McCaffrey and the big man, Jonathan Hankins gets up hands
catch and he ain't try to run. He went straight
down to the ground and goes, I don't do this,
but I do this.

I love to see his version. He got up, they
got up there. Love to see the big man interception
doing his thing. Jonathan Hankins. The Seahawk couldn't really take
advantage of the great field position. They would go have
to settle for another Jason Myers field goal seven to six.
I believe that was a fifty seven yarder. Talking about
Jason Myers, ease money, easy money. Shout out to Jason
Myers because people don't give kickers enough credit. I know

Brian Walter said this and some people feel sertched up
away about it. But Jami giving you your shout out,
doing your thing. The Hawks defense would come up big
the following drive, for seing another forty nine Ers punt
after an eleven play drive. The Hawks would punt on
their last drive of the first half, and the Niners
would take the one point lead into half.

Yeah, you're feeling good, because what was the goal? Just
keep it close at halftime. Keep it close at halftime
and you're gonna have a chance. You opening drive of
the second half started with disaster on third and eight
from the Hawks seventeen yard line. Gino was intercepted by
Isaac Jittam. He was rolling to his left side. I
believe he was looking towards There was Jason over there.
There was I think aj Barner on the inside in

DK over the top. I think he got caught in.
Like where am I going with this football? Jason was
working back at sealed over his head, dB over there,
cop that thing and you start to stress out a
little because we've seen this before. But thankfully, the Seahawks
defense got a huge stop, holding the forty nine ers
to a field goal, making the score ten to six.

Man, This is without question, and we'll talk about this more.
The story of the game and the day holy for
me was the defense. Yep, going against that team who
had had your number six consecutive times, with the weapons
they have, I don't care if Kitto wasn't in the
You don't care.

They got all pro dudes everywhere.
Speaker 6 (04:27):
The Lions didn't care, but we had six starters out.
No watch, we care about the Niners and the air problem.

Thank you, thank you. They're still good football team. The
defense balled out after that. The Seahawks will respond with
a great drive, going eleven plays seventy yards, ending with
a Ken Walker touchdown that was set up by a
big third down conversion.

On third and twelve.

Gino Smith found dk metcalf and then Walker's touchdown made
the score thirteen to ten.

I was on trolling the Niners today, okay, and now
really just watching, just watching the chaos go down, and
they're complaining about that catch he was out about. Listen,
he got two in Okay, playing his day. You can
complain about the JSN catcher whatever, but that one not.

I was good to go. But the Niners will respond
in a big way.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
Brock Prady would find Dwan Jennings, who had himself a
good day, for a three yard touchdown after fourteen play
seventy yard drive.

That play design was nasty too.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
It was on that drive the forty nine ers were
able to convert three third downs, including two separate third
and elevens. We ended up not liking that number third eleven.
We saw it a lot like three times. I think
they converted two of them. That made the score seventeen
and thirteen. San Francisco. The Hawks will try to respond,
but once again came up short. I'm in short yard situation.
On third and one from the niners forty seven yard line,

Gino was stopped on the QB sneak. He wasn't stopped.
That was a first down. That was a first down.
Very next play, Zach Charbonney, he gets stopped. That was questionable.
We could argue that one. But both of those I
felt like they got them both times. I think Gino
was for sure. The Sharbonne one, okay, we can argue
that would have been.

Yeah, that was tough because when you look at the
spot where the balls initially spotted, it was clear as
at he had the first down.

The other official came in and moved it backyard.

I don't love how quickly that process happened, because they know,
they tell the Seahaws will has already been reviewed. I
just don't know how you can review and confirm in
that short of time without even bringing the stix out
for measurement.

And then the defense you talked about it earlier about
they stepped up once again, and honestly, I don't want
to say save the season, but save where the Seahawks
were going.

I mean, usually when something bad like that.

Happens again, right all the momentums out of the gate,
and I think McCaffrey had like a nine or eight
yard gain on the very next play following.

That defense shook it off. They call that sun change.

They got another huge stop, setting the stage for Gino Smith.

Gino, goodness, gracious, Gino, we appreciate you.

He took the Seahawks down the field thanks to a
big reception from dk Metcalp two big time third down
conversions to Jsim and then Gino did the rest with
his legs, had a sixteen yard scramble. My man was
like he was jogging like he was so calm and composed.
I'm like, Gino, what are you doing? Are you gonna
get down? He gets down at the final moment and
then had a thirteen yard touchdown capping off eleven play

eighty yard drive made the score twenty to seventeen, twelve
seconds left on the clock, and he gave him the
go to sleep, not big ups to a Curry in
the base Steph Curry and that plays for the Wars.
So it was good man twelve seconds left and it
was a weird play at the end.

How this game ended with d Hall?

Yeah, well what is it when you if you watch,
if you're a fan of ESPN and Scott vanpel he
calls it like PITCHINGPG woo woo whatever.

Yeah, in the game. So that was pretty much what
that was. But the Seahawks defense all over it.

In the play before, I think they tried to connect
with Deebo Samuel and Devin Witherspoon, who we're gonna talk
about put him in the ground. Ended that thing and
Derek Hall comes down with the football. The Seahawks get
the win on the losing streak in Santa Clara. And
here's the crazy thing you want to talk about the
defensive two games after giving up four hundred and eighty
three total yards two hundred and twenty yards in the

first matchup against forty nine Ers, the Seahawks huge improvement
the Niners to just two hundred and seventy seven yards
and one hundred and thirty one yards rushing. The Seahawks
were also only penalized four times on the day bump
and they weren't penalized on the offensive line.

No, they they what at four four to the Niners.

I think ten or eleven, and I think that was
something that the Niners were crying about. I go, listen, man,
this is an NFL season. Things aren't always gonna go
your way. Guys are gonna be banged. U. We've experienced that,
Oh you're gonna be call for a bunch of penodies.
We've experienced that, you're gonna be up, You're gonna lose.
We've experienced that. So it feels good. I didn't even
go to watch Niner Twitter and all that stuff to engage,

but just to watch the houses burn up, you know,
like look at those guys over there.

It feels good because it's back to what it used
to be.

Seahawks were sixteen and four or seventeen and four something
like that in the previous like nine years, so then
you had the sixteen moving streak. So it's great to
see the Seahawks back where we expect them to be. Huge win,
huge win against the forty nine ers on Sunday, there
was lots of playmakers touching.

Playmakers told him what time it is?
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Holy, We're gonna start off with the quarterback. Gene no Smith.
We talked about him. He was twenty five to thirty
two two hundred and twenty one yards, went an interception,
but had four carries for twenty nine yards in the
game winning touchdown. This was Gino's tenth game winning drive
since twenty twenty two. Waited for this could confirm it
last night, but now that is tied for second most

in the NFL.

He was third. He has ten.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
I believe a couple of people have ten, So he's
right there second now in the NFL game winning drives,
which just shows you the clutch nature of Gino Smith.
He also passed Rick Meyer for fifth place on Seattle's
all time passing attempts list one thousand, five and twenty four. Now,
this one was so sweet to me, Bump, because Gino
takes a lot of bullets, He should a lot of arrows.
His dealt with so many different things, and for him

to engineer that drive and for him to be the
one to take it on his own. He had a
big sixty yard scramble before that, and it gets a
thirteen yeard touchdown to seal the deal.

Emotion he felt when he threw the ball into the stands,
like I just I love to see it because Gino
has been through a lot and he's a good quarterback.

He got to prove it again.

The quiet was loud after he scored that touchdown. You know,
I'm looking in the crowd. I went back and slow
mowed several times to look at all the faces in
the crowd and Geno to celebrate him. Happy for that guy.
He does more than what people really understand and appreciate.
So big up Geno. Next up JS and Man ten receptions,
one hundred and ten yards, first time in his career

he had back to back one hundred yard games.

His third one hundred yard game of the season.

I believe he's up to six hundred and seventy something
yards three touchdowns this year. Low Key is on pace
to having a thousand yard season. And there was a
time during this year where people were questioning could he
be the number two? Could he be the robin to
DK's batman or vice versa, And I think the past
two weeks he's proven that. My thing is I wanted
to see him do that with DK in the lineup

r and he did exactly that. DK still had a
good game, two seven catches for seventy yards, but it
was nice to see Jason shine on those third downs
two and what I'm seeing that is he is beginning
getting more comfortable just moving guys.

I think he's understanding what he's looking at.

There was a third down early in the game where
the flat defender is going to the right.

He could have just hitched up.

It was a nice little spot right, he could have
just hitched up, but he leans and takes him there like, look,
you're going that way, I'm gonna take you that way.
Then I'm going to hitch up. The little things in
his route running is coming to life now. It's you
love to see it.

We've talked about Jayson a Ton this year and we've
known he's got the skills. There's a reason why he
was drafted where he's drafted. So it's cool to see
this whole offensive elope whether it's DK, whether it's Jasen
with Ryan Grubb and everyone working together doing some good things.

It's violent, it's aggressive, there's no there's no hesitation, there's
no gun underneath box, none of that. He had thirteen tackles,
six solo, led the team in tackles, and just a
physical nature. He is just a presence on the field.
He's got that green dot now and the communications on point.

So now that he's had almost it'll be a month,
I believe next week in a Seahawk uniform practicing here
he's playing. He's an all pro, all pro caliber pro
bow type player. Yep, you watch him play. I love
team what Ernest is doing.

I like when they zoom up on him before the
snap and the intensity in his eyes. My man is like,
I'm locked in, I'm ready to go. And I would
assume that having the green dot, he has to communicate
with everybody. He's becoming a leader on this defense. He
has to be a leader on this defense. So the
more deposits he makes with thirteen tackles, the more yes,
he is going to lead this ball club. Tyree's Knight

happy for this young man. First time in a while,
nast I looked at the box score and two linebackers
led the charge in tackles. Knight was the other guy.
Ten tackles, one quarterback hit. He didn't seem overwhelmed. There
were times where I felt like, oh, he got beat
on that play. Everybody gets beat, especially playing against Niners,
a good football team.

But at no point did he seem overwhelmed.

I never looked at him and just scratched my head
and thought to myself, what are you doing?

Every time I looked at him, He's in the right position.
Did he make every play?

No, but he made the second most play most plays
on defense when it comes to tackles.

Tyres Knight had himself a good day.

We heard from Ad the defensive coordinator for the Seahawks,
and he talked about the maturation and the growth Knights
had from early this season to now.

He said it was night and day. No pun intend
in Tyres Knight.

But the thing for me, though, is like that first
game he played against the Patriots, you gotta think he
couldn't have gotten all the reps that we can practice.
Darn Baker gets hurt and all of a sudden you're
in the thick of it and you're going right now.
He's had some time to set back, watch guys play,
play with a guy like Ernest Jones alongside of him,
and you knew you were gonna be the guy all week. Yep,
you had a whole week of preparation. To your point,
(14:15):
he fit right in. So I love to see the
rookie Tyrese Knight doing his thing and then Devin Witherspoon boom.
You want to talk about energy, He's been that since
the Dave step foot in Seattle. We know that about
Devin Witherspoon, but this was his most impactful game in
my opinion. Eight tackles, three passes defended. One of those
people U's led to an interception. He was active with
his pressures. He's just a different dude out there, whether
(14:36):
he's in the slot, whether he's outside, And honestly, he
could have had a couple more deflections. If jennings And
makes some amazing plays, man.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
Man, he was on his hip. Gennis has made some plays, man.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
But Witherspoon, that is the dude that we know who
he is, and that's the dude that makes him a
difference maker on this defense. And when he's playing like that,
good luck.

I see my man in between the tackles a couple times,
mixing it up in the box.

I'm like you a buck eighty five getting up in there.

This was a game that he needed, and I think
that the Towels needed to remind themselves, like he's a
good football player. Sometimes with dbs, if they're not making
interceptions or past defect deflections, then you lose them and
you can assume they're not having a good year. But
every time Mike MacDonald and Aady talked about spoon. They
liked where he was, so it was nice to see

him put it out there for the world to see.
This one I was the most excited about. We've talked
about a lot of guys balling out. Abe Lucas and
Ola with Timmy had themselves a day. Shout out to
both of these guys. Man Abe Lucas played in forty
two snaps. Forty two snaps and he looked like he
didn't skip a beat. I'm just hoping his body's okay.
Ola with Timmy played in every single snap and he

looks good. I saw him get beat maybe one time,
and I went to big ups the guards as well.
I think Anthony Bradford had a better game, and I
think Thomason had a better game. If they don't have
better games, it's hard for Olu to have the game
that he had as well. So big to that offensive
line sack four times. I believe Gino was hit six
or seven times, but they did enough and uh Olu

led the charge.

This in no way looked like the first matchup where
Nick Bosolone had fourteen pressures and was under fire from
the jump. There's plenty of times I felt like Gino
actually had a relatively clean pocket to work.

How Gino is progressing and he goes through every one
of his progressions.

So how do you do that? You need to have
protection out to protect.

if you're not talking about your guards or specific people
by naming numbers, that means the guys up front are
doing their things.

But we are talking about them, Oh Lou and ab Lucas, baby,
we're talking about doing.

Overall, this group averaged eight point eight yards per catch.
Jackson average eleven DK eleverage ten yards or average ten

You know the cool thing I like about this with
the top weapons Tyler Lockett two receptions on three targets,
DK Metcalf seven receptions on nine targets, Jackson Smith the jig,
but ten receptions on eleven targets. That shows that it's
the accuracy is there that they're making receptions. It's not
one of those where yeah he had one hundred and
ten yards, we got targeted forty five times back, you

know what I mean. So love to see that from
Gino Smith and the rest of the receivers. So looking

panicking as the time is running out. No, this man

Yeah, this was this great decision making right made the
decision not to force anything. He has three receivers Gino
and Shotgun. Three receivers to the left of them, two
to the right. I love how they put DK Metcalf
closer to the line, excuse me, to the offensive line
at that number three receiver spot with AJ Barner on
the outside of him, just to give a different look
and try to get into a spot from a different area.

On the other side, you got a little switch route
going on. That means that the outside receiver goes in,
inside receiver goes out. And now on the left side
of the Geno you have DK Metcalf to the flat
and you got AJ Barner work in the middle of
field and then a shallow You got to give the
Niners credit here, they played this perfectly. Everything was on lock.
You got Fred Warner roaming in the middle of the field.
That's where they went wrong. He went to the field side.

That's the wide side of the field naturally to help
out with that combination over there, Gino felt some pressure,
stepped up, kept his eyes down the field and saw
that everybody was locked up. They had man on man,
bodies on bodies over there. So then he says, I'll
go ahead and do this thing myself, and he glides
in that end zone.

time man, and I love to see it.

I mean in this one, obviously everyone's gonna say the

Saying, Like in this rivalry, I'm just I have a
co old intern that used to work for the he'd
be talking on the No. Does Zack's have been super
respect because he used to work here, So yeah, he
got here and he's a diard Niners fan. But this
is the first time that the Seahawks had won since
he's been over there, so I felt pretty good about that. Yeah,
but yeah, and in the defense, we talked about it
from the jump. The defense played so well. I think

this is our best game of the year. Might not
be statistically, but given the opponent. They only gave up
one play of twenty yards in the game. Stopping the
explosives held Christian McCaffrey to under one hundred yards and
the forty nine ers team under three hundred yards. That
hasn't been done in this whole stretch. So to see
them make that step against that team needed to happen.

I'm so used to seeing McCaffrey break off a fifty
yarder and we did not see that on Sunday.

And I appreciate the defense for that.

And I appreciate this young man, Tyree's Knight, drafted in
the fourth round out of UTEP.

No one really knew about him. He had to go

Film and his instincts is what stepped out to me
or stood out to me when I was watching him
in college. And that's what I saw this weekend. Tyree's
Knight was where he was supposed to be. He made
some tackles and he was enthusiastic. I love it and
then you got to talk about JSN man back to
back hund of yard games, clutch, my man is catching
the football in between plays. There is that one where

Gino's rolling to the right and Fred Warner's right there
and Gino drops a dot and you could easily get
distracted with the hands in front of the football. Not JSN.
He continues to take steps forward and mature man. You
know what it is. I saw him at Starbucks and
I gave him to what up? That's what it was.
I gave him good energy and he went and did
his thing. You know after doing that, bump fans, thank you.

What I love about Jaysn is he's taking he's starting
to take a page out of a guy that you
played with, Bobby and Bobby. It was third down, where
are we looking? Looking Brady for Bobby and so loving
to see that from JSN. And then you got Geno Smith.
Was he absolutely perfect? Now he had won bad play,
but he put the team on his back again when
you need the game. And who else do I want
the ball? Gino Smith's I want the ball in his hands.

Second most comfort behind wins, game winning drives since twenty
twenty two. Gino Smith has just been unbelievable the season
and I'm loving where he's going or he's taking his
football team.

Yeah, we go as far as Gino goes, as far
as his online protects, and as far as his defense
stops the run, he makes big play.

place in the NFC West, which is crazy. We thought
the world was over and the season was lost. But
you need to get this win over the Cardinals. Next

own destiny because these guys are in sole possession of
first place.

That's gonna be a tough Packers team, and then the
Rams host the Eagles. I'm gonna go ahead and say
the Eagles get that dam is looking good for the Seahawks. Yeah,
they got to go on a run started with the Niners.

next three weeks. So a lot of big games, a
lot of big football to be played. But the Seahawks
