Speaker 1 (00:30):
Now, here's your host, Nasa Chopie.
Speaker 5 (00:33):
Welcome to another edition of Hawk Talk the Seahawks going
across the country taking down the New York Jets in
amazing fashion or broadcasting live from the Seahawks podcast Studio,
presented by Sony, the official partner of the Seattle Seahawks.
Bump Now, there might have been a lot of things
that could have been on your Bengo card at home.
What you thought this game was gonna be like, maybe
a blowout, maybe a close one. Maybe you shoot whatever
(00:56):
you thought, Yeah, I promise you you didn't pick out
what happened on.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Sunday, No, not at all. I didn't.
Speaker 6 (01:01):
I didn't expect to blow out. I didn't expect to
shoot out. I expected a hard fought game, which you got.
But it was it was a little messy at the
same time.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
Yeah, you know, the game of football is about three
phases offense, defense, special teams. A lot of times fans
and everyone across the world kind of forgets about special teams.
Not that the Seahawks do, not that any NFL team does,
but man, when things go bad in the special teams game,
it can really mess things up for a football team.
That's what happened on Sunday. The Seahawks did overcome that.
(01:31):
Let's get right into the action.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
What had happened. See, what had happened was what had
happened at first, was what had happened was on Hawk Talk.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
Yeah, man's nothing about Sunday at the beginning was clean,
non stressful. If you're just thinking you're gonna wake up,
sip your coffee, watch the little game, maybe poor little Momosa,
let's Hawks play and have your energy level down here.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
Sorry, not gonna happen. You're seeing that meme out there.
Speaker 5 (01:56):
There's always like the Seahawks have literally never played a
normal football game. Yeah, well that was true. This is
why that memes exists. That's why one thousand percent. The
game started slow Seahawks Jets. They each punted on the
first three possessions in the first quarter. That's when the
Jets got things going. After that, and honestly their only
full complete drive of the day, they marched down the
field going eleven plays eighty yards, ending with an eight
(02:18):
yard touchdown to Devonte Adams. The pat was blocked by
Leonard Williams, a little foreshadowing for how good of the
day he was about to have. That made the score
six to zero, as the Jets were actually bailed out
earlier in that drive when Leo should have had a
sack on third and thirteen, but he accidently grabbed Rogers
face mask.
Speaker 6 (02:34):
Anyway, they go up six to nothing. Yeah, Big I
had a day and this is just the start of
his day. He showed us early that he's a name
that we're gonna say often. But on the insuing kickoff,
Dee Williams no had the ball punched out fumbled the football.
The Jets were covered on the Seahawks twenty seven yard lines.
Then the Jets they wasted no time. They go four
plays twenty seven yards. Aaron Rodgers found Isaiah Davis a
(02:57):
little flick. It's weird how they call that passing touchdown.
Literally just tosses the ball up in front of him,
Davis crossed his face, he gets into the end zone.
That made the score fourteen zero. They also converted on
the two point conversion. It was a disaster start for
the Seahawks. You're down fourteen to ozh fairly quickly.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
Yeah, you don't want to be down two scores on
the road at all. But this team has been down
before big and other games, so I think they're resilient
so that no one panic, you know. The Seahawks responded
with a great drive, coming back best of the afternoon,
going ten plays eighty eight yards. Gino Smith found aj
Barner for the twelve yard touchdown that made the score
fourteen to seven.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
Reppen for Michigan. Michigan had a big week. They did
have a big week.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
Yeah, there were there were no flags playing in the
middle of the field on Sunday in Jersey, but yeah,
ag Barner shout out to them and the Michigan Wolverines
were getting it done over Ohio State. But anyway, you're
feeling pretty good. It's fourteen seven Seahawks right back in
the football game. This defense has been playing super well.
You think they're gonna get another stop. But just when
you were feeling good, Man, the Seahawk special teams unit
(03:55):
came up for once again, allowing a ninety nine yard
kickoff re turn touchdown that made the score twenty one
to seven.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Man, I was bad.
Speaker 6 (04:03):
And the thing about that return was that these guys
are the return team.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Covered team was in position.
Speaker 6 (04:08):
You had guys there, Bubbo missed, I believe Kenny missed
all on the back side of that whole thing.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
It was just the perfect storm. The Jets hit it.
Speaker 6 (04:16):
That's why I went that when we did kick returns
when I was in the league, Yeah, that wasn't my
thing because I didn't have that one hundred meters speed.
I had like that sixty meters first. So when you
hit it, you have to go. You gotta believe that
the gap is not gonna close and hit it. And
that's exactly what happened. Right there, had guys in position
but just couldn't get it.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
Done. So that was tough. And then things went from
bad to worse.
Speaker 6 (04:36):
The Viscus Chanols fumbled in sewing kickoff, give me the
Jets the ball in the thirty eight yard line, and
it was like a funny fumble light. He drops the
ball in the catch, he picks it up, he tries
to run, He panics a little bit, and he feels
the pressure. He falls back down, coughs it up and
they grabbed that thing. Feel bad for Chanault and yeah,
special teams struggling to start the game.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
Yeah, and at that point you're thinking of the Seas
are in real trouble here. They're down two scores already.
The Jets get the ball in great field position on
the thirty yard line. They march down, they get to
the Seahawks eight yard line, and you're thinking, okay, this
is put up a shut up. Even if the Seahawks
get a stop here in force the field goal, they're
still going to be down seventeen points. Yeah, but that
thankfully our guy big Cat Williams Leonard Williams.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Second week in a row.
Speaker 5 (05:18):
On third and seven from the eight yard line, Aaron
Rodgers looking for Garret Williams, Big Kat Lee Williams drops back.
We're gonna break this whole thing down in depth later,
but he gets his hands on it, runs it back.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
In ninety two yards.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
Big battle like get in the end zone for the
touchdown that made the score twenty one to thirteen.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
The Seahawks did have the pat block, so of course
they did. Weren't out of the wood zone.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
Special teams to dead, but big Katala Williams keeping the
Seahawks in the football game a huge at least you know,
ten point swing there.
Speaker 6 (05:46):
I don't know how people keep these stats, but that
is the longest pick six by man over three hundred pounds.
Who goes into the archives says, all right, man, let's
look over guys every pick in the NFL history and
see the guys over three hundred pounds. Leonard this set
of record. Man, that's two weeks in a row. He's
been doing the stay. So then the Jets would turn
the ball over on down to their next possessions, and
(06:07):
the Hawks would kick a field goal, making the score
twenty one to sixteen. The Hawks defense forced a putting
on the opening possession of the first half, but then
put together a pretty impressive drive.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Geno connected with DK.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
On games of twenty eight and thirty, however, the Seahawks
would fail to get in the end zone after eight
plays on the five yard line. I broke this down.
You ran a zone, there was a miss block on
the back side. You tried to hit d km l
fade the first play. He was gassed. You can tell
he had no energy left, couldn't get no wiggle long.
Then you try to hit no offense in the flat.
You just missed fingertips. You try to hit DK again
(06:39):
on a slam, he can't get away. You try to
run the football again, Olu misses a block, and then
finally on fourth down, Gino's getting back there, he gets sacked.
It's just everything that could happen that in that five
yard space happened.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
And you got some hell by the Jets too.
Speaker 6 (06:54):
They had a couple of pillows that extended that things.
It's weird that I get nervous when they get down
the five because I want them to do so well,
like watching my kids, like, man, I know this is
gonna be hard, son.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
But I believe you can do it. It was tough
for him down there.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
Yeah, right now, the red zone has just been a
tough spot for the Seahawks. It's been kind of a
place of horror for even during this winning streak, it's
just been really tough. We haven't been able to operate
as well as they'd like to. We know they can
get it done, they're just not there yet. Unfortunately, eight
plays from the five yard end couldn't get it done.
But they got some help on defense. Defense always showing
up big, especially last couple of weeks. Julian Love on
(07:28):
a decent run by Brees Hall. I think he got
eleven yard game, but Julian Love six is to them
right there on the football. Hall costed up giving it
right back to the Seahawks offense on that next drive.
Of the Seahawks were put in tough position because Michael
Dixon was suffering backspasms. Now the thing about this is
people laugh, but if you're a human being on this
planet and you have ever experienced a backspasm, you know
(07:50):
what he's going through, and you know that it's a
godsend that he was still walking. Yeah, because that'll put
a grown man on the floor like that to sit
you down real quick. You don't matter back spasms. So
he's going through it. He's not available, So they're looking, okay,
is Jason Myers gonna be able to punt? Who's gonna
be able to punt? Well, the Seahawks decide, you know what,
we're not even messed with that. We're gonna go for
it from fourth and six in the position they typically
(08:12):
would not go for it in on just forty four
yard line. Thankfully, Gino Smith. He hooks up with Jackson
Smith and jig but I think you called.
Speaker 6 (08:18):
Him fourth in in jigba, fourth in jigba fourth jatig
but whatever, whatever you want to call it, third and
Jackson fourth and Jackson is him.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
Coming up big.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
It's a twenty four yard game on that fourth down
that sets up a Jason Myers field goal that made
to score twenty one nineteen early in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 6 (08:32):
Let me say this, Dixon, I hate to see a
man go through some pain like that.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
I've been there, have.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
To backspast shut you down, low key was a blessing
in disguise. You don't know what would have happened. You know,
if you do punt the ball and you do that,
you go for it. Jsen does this thing, you get
some points out of it. I don't know man. I
hate to see a man down like that, but it
low key helped this team out.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
It changed things a little bit. The Seahawks defense.
Speaker 6 (08:55):
They forced a punt on the next driving Geno Smith
in the offense will get the ball back down to
with a minute and thirty four seconds left in the game.
Then they go nine plays seventy one yards with an
eight yard touchdown from Zach Charbona. They got into the
red zone inside the ten, gave it to Charbona and
he did his thing. The Hawks were bailed out numerous
times on the drive. The Jets had five and four
(09:17):
penalties that all came on third and fourth down.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
That's why DJ Reed put the tweet out. He was
hot at the officiat. Oh yeah he was. He was hot.
Speaker 5 (09:24):
Unfortunately, there was one play on DJ that probably wasn't
It was probably a ticki tack call. But the other
ones they earned the legit horse collar. We didn't make
the rules. You can't tackle somebody by the back of
the neck. It rules you guys can't move at the
same time.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
Receivers. No, he lined up communicate.
Speaker 6 (09:39):
It was Devonte and Wilson, Right, you're number one and
two communicate.
Speaker 5 (09:43):
So I mean but but, but, my goodness, I mean,
that's a backbreaker. If you're a Jet fan, you're probably
using this type of heartbreak. Just stick to your stomach, man.
Then you know, on the next possession, the Jets finalssession,
and say they moved the ball a little bit, going
thirty eight yards in five minutes. But of course the closer,
Leonard Williams, it's a big sack on that possession, setting
up a fourth and fifteen. Aaron Rodgers couldnt connect. Kobe
(10:05):
Bryant came and laid the pressure on that one kind
of stealed the deal. And the Seahawks come out of
MetLife Stadium and.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
Go with another victory, seven and zero all time in
met Life.
Speaker 6 (10:14):
So that's we probably own about a third of that
stadium at this point, at least, you know, seven And
that was all good.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
The game was pretty in the box score.
Speaker 6 (10:23):
The Hawks only only out gained by the Jets by
one yard. Both teams had two turnovers. I'm saying the
game was not pretty in the box squash to say
the Hawks only out gained the Jets by one Both
teams had two turnovers, Both teams were not great on
third downs, But the Jets were penalized twelve times to
the Hawks five.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
I like that. Then every penalty seemed to be a
back bigger. That's true.
Speaker 6 (10:43):
Every time the Hawks needed a break, they got a break.
And you could point out the officials and say, well,
they called a tight game and this is no bias.
There's probably one or two calls where you think, oh okay,
we got away with that. The other penalties were legit.
We've been on that side. Come on now, so we
don't feel sorry for you at all, man. But the Seahawks,
they maintain sole possession of first place in the West.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
Let's get it. Gotta love it. The Seahawks another huge win.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
That's three in a row, their second three game winning
streak of this season. We do have some sad news
that we got to bring to you today. Unfortunately, the
Seahawks did wave laviscas Chanal. He had sixteen returns four
hundred and fifty nine yards on the season, including a
ninety seven yard touchdown against the forty nine ers. But
unfortunately he did have those two fumbles lost. And yes,
(11:29):
stuff because the Viisco is a great dude. Man good,
he's gonna land on his feet. It's just that's the NFL. Unfortunately,
it's a business and it's hard and things happen. You
got to make the best move for your football team.
The good only good news coming out of that is
hopefully Chennonewosu makes his return back to the roster at
some point so on furth Hest might be coming back
as well, So we'll keep you posted on that. But
that's what's going on there. Seahawks again in first place
(11:51):
the NFC West. But there's a lot of dudes making plays, lightmakers, touch.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Up, playmakers.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
Told him what time it is, holy.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
Playmakers. The biggest playmaker of them all, We're gonna start
off with him. He's the biggest in size and the
biggest when it comes to the stats ship.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
My guy had four tackles. Don't let me introduce them correctly, Big.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
Kat Leonard Williams, Yeah, had four tackles, two sacks, three TFLs,
one pass defended, two quarterback hits, and of course a
ninety two yard pick six, the longest return for an
interior defensive lineman in NFL history. He also became the
first player since nineteen eighty two with multiple sacks and
interception return for touchdown and a block kicked in a game.
(12:40):
I mean, what else is there for him to do?
Probably just recover a fumble, I guess.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:44):
Other than that, he did everything a defensive lineman can do.
And he helped on special teams like one of the
few good plays on special teams. He was a big
part of blocking that PA team.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
I mean, we were literally sitting here in these same
seats a week ago talking about that was, without question,
the best perform Orange we had seen from Lennon Williams
in the Seahawk uniform and maybe as a defensive lineman
in the NFL this season. Yep, we're here a week
later saying the same conversation because this game mightn't even better.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
He said, double up to them zone. Oh, Kobe sixty
nine to the house. I'm gonna go ninety two yards.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
I'm gonna go ninety two. And the crazy thing too,
is he could have had another sack.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
That's wow. Yeah, big cat, you're playing this is obvious.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
NFL at this point, not only should he be player
of the week, my man might be getting a player
of the month.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
We might we start talking all Pro Pro Bowl. Talk
to him, talk about a signing.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
Good job, John Schneider and everybody making sure Leonard Williams
was back in the Seahawks uniform this season. We'll stick it,
keep it on the defensive side for the Seahawks.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Julian Love. Man, he's just playing consistent.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
He had six tackles, one pass defended, one force fumble,
and he just when you watch him, I'm seeing the
leadership from him. He's always in the right spot and
he's a sure tackler man when when love get hits,
yet your go down. He's really been a captain in
that back part of the secondary, making sure everyone's lined
up doing his thing.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
So I love what I'm seeing from twenty.
Speaker 6 (13:59):
And his home guys accoun. I ain't gonna say who
he was talking to, but there was a poay where
maybe a guy wasn't hustling or whatnot, maybe it was
an assignment, whatever it may be. He holds guys accountable
and I think they respect him because he can be
relied upon, and you know he's gonna show up every
single day and he's the same person windows a draw,
he's the same person.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Love what Jay Love is doing.
Speaker 6 (14:17):
Geno Smith twenty of thirty one, two oh six one touchdown,
But most importantly, no interception. It's been like four weeks
since my man has not turned the ball over. Nice
to see Geno leave this team, and he made some
clutch throws man, those third in those fourth downs, you
got a couple of dk jsin get into the mix.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
He was responsible with the football. I love that about.
Speaker 6 (14:36):
Geno And you knew this meant a lot to him
because when Zach Sharbeney scored the touchdown, there was no
like Swaggy celebration. He just throws his hands up in
the air like I need this, I want this. The Jets,
y'all gave up on me. You put me in a
bad situation. It was the Jets, the Giants. He's beat
both of them this year. Happy for Geno, you know,
(14:58):
of course. Oh no, he didn't beat the It's goodness
great twenty twenty two. He had a clean sweet that
was the former teams.
Speaker 5 (15:05):
All all I need to know is, man, go to
Gino's Twitter page and show the meme shared. I don't
need to go into what that meme is, but if
you know, you know, yeah, showing up biggest haters. Just
to make sure anyway, keep it on offense Jackson Smith
and Jig but Man mister consistent. Four receptions seventy four
yards led the Seahawks and receiving for the fourth game
in a row. Had a huge fourth and sixth conversion
(15:28):
late in the fourth quarter. And Jackson right now, he's
just the go to guy. Yeah, he's showing you can
do it all. This is week after week after week.
We talked about already one, two, three, this is this
is a streak. This is just what we come to
expect now. Js N making big plays on third and
fourth down. We talked about. I mentioned Bob Ingram a
couple of weeks ago on third and fourth down. I'm
looking for number eleven. Yeah, pointsable over.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Eight hundred and twenty yards, seventy receptions.
Speaker 6 (15:51):
I just happened to look up stats today and he's
the eighth leading receiver in the league when it comes
to yards, which is crazy to me because it's a
sneaky ad. Like we know he's been playing well this
that's three or four weeks, but it's a sneaky eight.
And he looks faster, he looks more confident. My man's balling.
Get to see Json doing his thame this guy. I
feel like since he's put on this jersey, He's been
(16:12):
a playmaker every single week. Ernest Jones eight tackles, six
solo tackles. He's led the team in tackles every game
he's played in Seattle. He is now one tackle short
of one hundred. That will be his third consecutive one
hundred tackle season. And it's not like one hundred. I'm
catching you fifteen yards down the field. No, it's a hundred.
We in this box, all right, and I'm gonna square
you up. You gonna feel this. It's a different type
(16:34):
of one hundred tackles.
Speaker 5 (16:35):
No love what we're seeing from Ernest Jones again. Another
amazing acquisition by Schneider and his team bringing him in
here and just completely changing around what this defense looks like.
It's crazy what three weeks can do for you.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
And then we'll wrap it up here with playmakers.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
DK Metcalf again being consistent in four receptions sixty six yards.
He had reception of twenty eight yards and thirty yards
and also drew multiple PI calls. Because he's still gonna
garner that attention. Still, Dk Metcalf, I'll still run by
you had a little bit of scare. I think all
this got scared man. I was walking off the field
so gingerly. But it sounded like coach McDonald spoke about
it in his radio interview this morning that it might
(17:10):
have been might have thought it was a nerve thing
or something kind of that.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
I was more scary at first.
Speaker 5 (17:14):
Okay, it could it be some bad They cleared it
looks like hopefully he's good to go. Well, stay tuned
with DK status, but love to see what we're seeing
from DK METCALFDC from the whole receiver unit as a whole.
Speaker 6 (17:24):
All right, So we already talked about JSN. He had
four catches on four targets for seventy four yards. DK
had four catches for sixty six no offense, welcome back.
He had three for twenty six. Tyler Lockett at three
for sixteen he kind of got the party going. I
think he had like the first reception on maybe the third.
AJ Barner had two for fourteen, but his second receiving
touchdown as a professional in the league. And then you
(17:45):
get Zach Scharbonna two for thirteen as a whole day
average ten point three yards per catch.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Not very.
Speaker 6 (17:55):
Not a deep performance, but an efficient performance. When you
needed plays on third down, you got it from these guys.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
No, without question, love to see it from the receivers.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
We're broadcasting from the Seahawks Podcast Studio presented by Sony,
the official partner of the Seattle Seahawks this NFL season.

(18:25):
miss a beat with Sony headphones.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
You know who's not missing a beat. Bump. That's big
Cat Leonard Williams. He has been playing.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
MVP all pro type football the last couple of weeks
and it was no different on Sunday when he got
things going and getting the Seahawks back in the game
with this ninety two yard pick six.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
All stays in the backfield again.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
Three receivers near side. Adams has slotted on the right,
Blitz has come and throw.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Inside hits picked up Leo Williams coming near side. He's
running like a race horse. He's on midfield. Turns up field.
That f blockers Holy smokes, are you kidding Leo Williams?
It's gonna take it in for a touchdown? Sehawks. The
Seahawks mess up a kick return, they dump it on
(19:12):
the defense, and Leo Williams says, I got you covered,
picks it off as he drops back into coverage, comes
up the near sidelines in front of the bench, picks
up blockers, and takes it all the way in for
a touchdown.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 6 (19:30):
This is the type of play As a defensive coordinator
you gotta patch yourself on the back.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
Oh yeah, you have to. The design is just ridiculous.
Speaker 6 (19:38):
We've seen variations of this, but the timing of it
and the fact that he confused a twenty year veteran
oh yeah, and Aaron Rodgers with this is filthy. I
only think people even realize exactly how this happens. So
let's let's talk about it, all right, man, My man
Leo is in the one tech position, so he is
inside the guard and the center on Aaron Rodgers' left side.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
Okay, him and Jay Reed are over there.
Speaker 6 (20:02):
Jayres in a three tech position that's between the guard
and the tackle. When the ball is snapped, they both
fake like they're rushing and drop in the space. You
got number ninety nine and number ninety dropping into space,
and that confuses Aaron. I think Aaron sezos two in
the line of scrimmage. She goes, Okay, they're going to
rush on the outside. You got your your backers are
(20:23):
who are rushing at outside backers and Ernest Jones. But
Leo drops into the flap. So what happens is you
have Devin Witherspoon who looks like he's on the blitz
as well. He's blitzing from depth. So what Leo's doing
is he's replacing Witherspoon, right, He's going to the quarterback.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
Leo drops all the way.
Speaker 6 (20:39):
He goes from Aaron Rodgers left side all the way
to the right side flap.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
Aaron does not see him.
Speaker 6 (20:44):
He's looking for a slam and he tips the football,
catches it. The rest is him the fact that he's able,
at three hundred pounds of starting a three point stance
of the one take on one side of Aaron Rodgers
drop all the way to the flat, tip the ball,
catch it and take it ninety two yards. That might
be one of the most athletic plays I've seen out
of a man three hundred pounds.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
The whole thing, because the whole thing about this is
the ze play is not doesn't happen if he doesn't
sell like he's going to rush. Yeah, he makes contact
then gets out. So first of all, he drives off
his right foot, boom, flips some hips, opens up, gets
out there, tips the ball to himself. You want to
talk about after his guys on the quarterback looks like
he's playing seven on seven. Locates. The quarterback locates the ball,
(21:25):
puts his hands on it, makes it play and runs
down the field.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
Are you kidding me? Crazy?
Speaker 5 (21:28):
At that speed, at at that weight, are you? I
mean no, now, ain't gonna see that again. And honestly,
I think I speak for a lot of people when
I say this.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
It felt so.
Speaker 5 (21:37):
Good to see that executed because I feel like for
a lot of years recently, we've seen a lot of
defensive lineman dropping with little to nose.
Speaker 6 (21:46):
They look lost. They look like a baby that has
lost their way. At a big mall, Mall of American Minnesota.
We went there one time. It's amazing to see his awareness.
He's just a real athlete.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
But the cool thing about this and this is how
you know.
Speaker 5 (22:00):
And this is another testament to the defensive coaching staff
and coach Mike McDonald. When you watched Leo and Jay
Reid drop out, they didn't look out of place, they
didn't look like, wow, what are they doing? They had
good technique. They got to where they're supposed to go.
And I think earlier this year that happened. I don't
know if it was the preseason whatever that happened with
with Mike Morris. He was in when he shouldn't have been,
(22:23):
and but he had the presence of mind to know
the defense and dropped underneath the work. Donald goes, oh, smokes,
I can't believe he's in the game. Whatever he did it.
That just shows you these guys are coached deps know
exactly what you do where they're supposed to do it.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
So I love the execution. I love a.
Speaker 5 (22:36):
Receiving big cat and uh yeah, I don't know if
you're ever going to see that again.
Speaker 6 (22:39):
And he's in shape. Come on, he was back in.
He took three plays off and was cool. I'm back
in this thing, bro.
Speaker 5 (22:44):
I would have needed at least to see at least
a serious easily oh man. But I will say this bomb.
I'm getting used to saying this, this feeling. The victory formation.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
We keep seeing it. I love to see it.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Come on, boys, here comes the Sea Hawk offense onto
the field and the Vikings team defense trutching out there
knowing that one meal down and the Seahawks are gonna
wine the clock down and win this one.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
It's the victory formation on Hawk Talk.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
No one must make this game for a pretty win.
You couldn't, but we'll say for second straight week. This
is National Football League. You do not apologize for wins
in it.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Now.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
Every game is hard to Every game is hard to
come by. Tho's professionals on both sides of the football.
The Seahawks find a way to grind out another tough one,
and I'm happy they were able to get it done resilience.
Speaker 6 (23:31):
They overcame two fumbles, loss on kick return, a kick
return for a touchdown, and they still won the game.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
In the NFL, then you you lose those games, Yeah,
you lose it.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
You fumbled the ball twice, You give them good field position,
you got a special team scorer, the ops get a
special team score. You're supposed to lose that football game,
but they didn't. Do that, and a lot of it
was because for the second week, Leonard Wims had probably
his best game for sure, his best game of the Seahawks,
probably his best game in his NFL career. He's played
in one hundred and fifty three games a right, he's
(23:59):
been on the block, yes, and he just balled out man.
In two weeks, He's got ten tackles, four and a
half sacks, six TFLs, two pass the defense, six quarterback hit,
an interception and an interception return for a touchdown.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
We need to be talking Pro Bowl, All Pro for
this young man, without question.
Speaker 5 (24:14):
I mean, I think the words out and I think
the thing I love about it is I think he's
now getting the national notoriety to make that happen. So goodie,
see you, big cat, keep balling. And then Gino Smith.
I love what I saw from him. Not flashy stats,
but he's turnover free. He took care of the ball.
And then Jack and Smith and Jagba another great game
leading the team and receiving four games in a row.
Speaker 6 (24:32):
Yeah, and then Ernest Ernest showing up once again. He
let the teams and tackles for the fifth game in
a row. Dan, He's been here five games already. Yeah,
I feel like he just got here, like he.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
Just got the same time. Feels like he's been here forever.
It does.
Speaker 6 (24:44):
He's like, I know this, I got the green dot.
I'll set you guys up. He's moving defensive linemen and
the proper gaps. He's locked in, man. But the Seahawks,
they found a way to win. It was ugly, but
it's three in a row. They're seven and five. If
the playoffs started today, they'd be the number three seed
in the comp which is crazy to me.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Let's keep it rolling. Love to see the fact that
we're talking.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
A couple of weeks ago, a lot of people might
have thought we were crazy that we could be talking
about this is way ahead. Obviously a lot of things
have to happen, but you're hosting a home playoff game
because you're the NFC West champion.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (25:15):
Now, the Seahawks can take a big step into making
that happen by taking down the Cardinals. You meet the
Cardinals this week, it's essentially a three game lead over them.
With both the tiebreaker, you got the Bills hopefully completing
the full four games sweep of NFC West this week
when they take on the Rams, so a lot ahead
of the Seahawks. They got to flip the script and
get ready for these Cardinals. It was not an easy
win last time. It's gonna be a lot even harder
(25:36):
in the desert. So looking forward to it. That's gonna
do it for us again. Love talking about Seahawks win.
