Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
Michael Bumpus.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Playfake, go to roll right, jumps it off into the
right flass to Michael Bumpers, who bounces off of one
tackler cats inside the forty down of the thirty five
yard line.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Powered by Seahawks dot Com.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Matt pumpfake's looking at the gold line. He throws it
into the end zone.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Touchdown. Say Hawks, it's.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Michael Bumpers with a diving catching the end zone on
ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpers, and the kid out
of Washington State has found himself.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
A place on this team.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Now here's your host, Nasa Chovie.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
The Seahawks fall at home to the Rams twenty six
to twenty in a heartbreaker. We're broadcasting live from the
Seahawks Podcast Studio, presented by Sony, the official partner of
the Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Bum Holy smoke, oh man, oh man. That was something.
It was. It was. I was rough, man.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
It was a rollercoaster of emotions throughout that whole game.
Thankfully I didn't have to watch the game from the
press box. I was in a little booth that you
and the Seahawks took me and Brian waltsh is up
with and we can show some emotion. And I'm glad
because I needed to get that out, need to get
it out.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
Well, what I was excited about is so I watched
the game from the broadcast booth with Rabel and the guys,
and typically where I stand during the game. If anytime
they want to show Ryan Grubb, yeah, I'm like in
the back shot of it, which is just tough for
me because I want I'm in the broadcast booth. I
can show emotions as well, but now I know that's there,
so I'm like, I can't and then but then you
forget the nice thing. This week Fox had a nice

(01:31):
tight shot on Grub, so I was out of the picture.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
I could live my life nice. Good for you, I'm
happy for you.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
I was trying to bump, but we'll get right into
it because what had happened, it was tough see what happened.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
At first, what happened was what had happened was un
howked talk walking out of the booth at halftime, Bump
doing halftime show on the radio.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
I was feeling pretty good, feeling dang good. I was.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
And if you would have told me at that moment
that we'd be sitting here in this room together talking
about a Seahawks lot, I.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Would have called you crazy.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Yeah, But I digress, because that's exactly where we are
and that's what we're doing. And it was hard, man,
because the Seahawks were the better team. They played better football,
they were they let this one get away from the unfortunately,
And obviously I think if you're in LA right now
and you're JB Long and you're doing a RAMS podcast,
you feel differently about the better team winning or not.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
Oh I hit up JB too, okay, JP, JB man
that defensive line, he goes, yeah, making up for a
lot of stuff that's wrong with this team.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
He was honest.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Yeah, And you know, so you can look at it
from different perspectives, but from our perspective, I think the
Seahawks definitely is the game they could have won, and
it definitely really hurt. And when this game got started,
there wasn't a lot offense get going. There was eight
punts in the first nine possessions, and the one possession
that didn't ended up punt, unfortunately, ended in an interception.
Geno was trying to find JSN after JSN made it
a hell of a play to play before breaking three

(02:50):
tackles on the little screen one he probably should have caught,
but I think it's safe to say he made up.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
For that word a little bit, A little bit.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
The Rams got on the board first eleven play forty
three yard drive with the Joshua Cardi field goal that
made the score three nothing.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Rams. Yep.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
The Rams get up first, and then the Seahawks offense
would really get going in the first half. Gino would
cap a nine plays seventy yard drive with a thirty
yard touchdown to Tyler Locket. A nice little fade caught
him in the cover two loot boom right in the
honey hole. Jason Myers would miss the extra point thow,
so that made the lead six to three. On the
ensuing drive, Reek Woolen shows up intercepts Matthew Stafford on

(03:25):
the pass intended for Pooka. Natua Nicoua goes up and
grabs that thing out the air. Then the usually level.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Headed Pooka, he's a he's an island guy, you know
what I mean. I take everything easy.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
My man throws a punch and hits Tyroll Dawson and
gets ejected from the game. Guys, kids, professionals, open your
hand if you're gonna do something like that that just
an open hand would have changed everything. But I'm glad
it was closed because Pooka got kicked out.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
That was one of the most shocking things that when
they are their officials were meeting, You're like, were they
talking about for so long?

Speaker 3 (03:55):
And then they said show somebody.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
I was like, that can't be Pooka man, No way,
most any interview ever heard anyone was talking to the
most chill dude, the most respectful dude.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
Yep, hey, thanks got hot. I want to talk to Dotson.
What you say, Tobb? You just didn't block him, you
said something to him.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Oh well, if he got a jection for the game,
and that was a huge loss for the Rams because
we know how good he's been since he's made his return.
The Seahawks would take advantage a little later three plays
sixty yard drive ending in the twenty four yard touchdown
to j SN that made the score thirteen to three.
On that drive, there was four plays all intended to JXN.
He drew a PI in the first one, forty six
yard reception on second one incomplete and reeled in a

(04:30):
touchdown on the fourth. The Hawks will rote into halftime
with a ten point lead.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Bump. But man, that third quarter was not good for
the Hawks. Third quarter was all bad for the Hawks.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
The Rams march right down and filled out the tunnel, saying, look,
we fixed some things. They go eleven plays, seventy five
yards and with a one yard touchdown to DeMarcus Robinson,
who's put together two really good weeks for the Rams.
Man that made the score thirteen to ten. The Hawks
will punt on the next drive, and the Rams would
put three more on the board after a twelve play
drive that tied it up at thirteen. The Seahawks suffered
from some questionable on the drive, including a roughing the

(05:02):
passer on d Honme third down. That was that was blowney,
okay it's and then it's Matthew Stafford selling it.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
You gotta get what you can't.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
I guess like I respect the gamesmanship, but I also
don't respect it because you know, dang well that batman
had a legal play on you. That one made me frustrated.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Well, it influenced it because when you lay down there
like your dad. It just it's a feel. And don't
get me wrong, I feel for the officials and how
hard this game is to officiate.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
It's tough.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
But that one just stuff, man, because the Seahawks every
time there's a big penalty, you feel like it's always
on third down and it's always and there.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Getting off the field and get your butt off the
dame turf.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
Man, this wants to snatch him up there like your
kid throwing a tantrument in the market.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Man, get up off the dame floor. Man, what you're
doing brutal.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Granted, the Seahawks defense did come through get a stop
on that, you know, at least hold them out of
the end zone. On following possession of the Seahawks are
drive all the way down the field, but Gino was
hit and intercepted in the end zone. Cameron Kitchens ran
it back one hundred and three yards for a bushdown.
This one a big plays of the game, fourteen point swing.
You're thinking you're gonna get seven. The offense is kind
of getting back in the rhythm. It gets run back

(06:05):
for a touchdown. And this one's tough because Gina, we're
gonna talk about him specifically, he had three interceptions.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Again, it's another one of those games where they're not
all on him.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Yep, this one's a tough Maybe could have thrown the
ball away earlier.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Either way, he's eventually trying to get rid of the ball.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
He gets hit, floats right to Kitchens and he runs
back one hundred three yards for a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
That's a huge, huge, huge play of.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
The game, rookie making plays out their Kitchens goodness gracious.
After another seaalk pump, the Hawks defense would step up again,
getting a huge stop. Then Cody Wide would block a punt,
setting up the Seahawks offense in great field position. I
love when undrafted due drafted things. I love to see
eighty two out there doing it. The Seahawks would not
take advantage as Gino was picked off again by who

(06:48):
Kitchens after a mishold on a j barner. It was
definitely a hold. AJ could not get his left arm up.
The refs missed it. Like you said, it's hard to
officiate this game, but sometimes you just gotta look at
the way the body is responding and say something is up.
And then if you look at Fisk, who did the pulling,
he put his hands up. Yeah, you know, dang well,
will somebody put their hands up?

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Guilty?

Speaker 5 (07:09):
They did it. They were guilty, man. So that was
a tough one.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
That would really hurts you because here again you have
a play. Usually when you block a punt in the
football game, make a play special teams like that that
impacts the game. He win the football game, yep, especially
when you get the ball deep in that territory that
the Seahawks just could not get it done. And it's
been the Achilles heal right now, it's been before this
week goes run defense. The last two weeks, it's been
the red zone. The Seahawks could not convert the next

(07:34):
three possessions with ending punt in the Seahawks will get
the ball back down seven with one to fifty four
in the game. So things have gone bad. Things have
gone bad. In the third quarter of the Seahawks were
only ran a couple of plays. It's as bad as
can be. And for all the arrows that number seven
is taken today he leads them down in a drive.
He connects with JSN on a fourth and five season
on the line. Earlier, he hooks up with Cody White

(07:57):
doing all he can twenty nine yard game. Then the
falling play finds a send for a fourteen yard touchdown,
which we'll talk about later. That tied the score up
in twenty. That game was done. He gets sacked on
the first play of that drive. Yeah, and it's again
second and thirty. Whatever it was. But the poise and
the leadership of Gina Smith gets in back to the
football game. Everyone continue to believe that tied the score
over twenty.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
That tied in the Seahows defense would force a punt,
setting up overtime. The Hawks won the toss, they take
the ball, they go all the way down to the
Rams sixteen yard line, but the Hawks will get stopped
on third and one in fourth and one, turning the
football over. I've had many conversations today about what you
should do in that situation. The analytics say, look, you're
supposed to go for it. The reality says, look, maybe

(08:40):
your offensive line isn't ready for this.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Whatever the situation may be.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
I'm going with Mike McDonald and Grubb and what they
feel is right in that situation. So I wasn't mad
at the decision to go forward. But when you do
roll the dice like that, there's only two outcomes. Either
you look great, are people going to question you? Unfortunately
it was on the negative side of the things.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Yeah, no, And I think the funny thing is it's
like it's such a dune if if you don't get it,
you're wrong either way, right, because everyone who's clamoring you
for to not go for it would have been upset
if you kick the field goal and the Rams take
the ball, go.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Score a touchdown, and they'd be like, what are you doing?
Do an opportunity to win the game.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
So it's one of those things when it doesn't go
your way, it looks bad and it's an execution thing.
They coach McDonald spoke about it today in this press conference.
They were kind of figuring it out in the run game.
So for as much struggles as they had early in
the game offensively, especially up front, they were ken walk
were starting to get five, six, seven, eight, there's a
couple of big pushes. They're down inside the sixteen. You
think Bray talked about this last night too. Any offensive

(09:36):
line at any level, especially Nashville Ball League, thinks they
can get a yard oh yeah for show, and they
just didn't execute the way too.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
There's a six yard game that drive.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
There's a hay yard game that drive on the ground,
so you feel like there's some rhythm going with the
run game.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Again, I do not question the call.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
Rams get the ball. They're not going to look back.
There was a big play in that drive. I think
it was the first play. Looks like Reek Woln's about
to get an interception. He kind of jumps and kind
of awkwardly times it. Of course, he doesn't have the
field view. He's looking at the football, he doesn't see
the Rams receiver running underneath it. He thinks it's going
to be an easy interception. Unfortunately he couldn't get that.
He would have loved I'm sure if you talk to

(10:13):
him that he would have loved to attack that ball
because he knows about that like he did in the
first interception. And unfortunately he doesn't make that play. The Rams.
There's a PI on him on that play and then
or the next play, and then a couple of plays later,
DeMarcus Robinson makes a thirty nine yard touchdown to seal
the game.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
One handed plays an one hell of.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
A catch, hell of a catch and on that one
you just got to tip your cap.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
But at the end of the day.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
The Seahawks had way many more opportunity before he even
came down to whether or not tarigul And intercepted that
ball in overtime. They just couldn't get it done. They
didn't execute when they needed to, and it's a tough
loss for him.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
No, it's never one play, there's never one situation, multiple things.
But the Rams, excuse me. The Seahawks played good. They
outgained the Rams four twenty four to three sixty six.
They out rushed him one o seven is sixty eight,
but they lost to turn up about we all know
how important that is. And we're four for fifteen on
third down the last two games, or twenty seven percent
on third downs.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Man, you gotta fix that. Yeah, third downs will kill you.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
And the thing that's been frustrating, and I've been saying
this since the clock struck triple zeros after the game,
the Seahawks should have left yesterday with the story being
about how good this defense looked, Yeah, stopping the run,
how good Jackson, Smith and Jabo looked were about to
talk about in a second record breaking performance, and then

(11:28):
how good guys like Cody White coming in there, stepping
up and getting this thing done so really frustrating, I'm
sure for everyone yesterday because we should be talking a
completely different story. But unfortunately the Hawks could not get
it done. Heading into the bye week four and five.
Here's the positive side, a lot of season left. It
might look very gloom and doom when you lose five
to six games, but the Seahawks are still right in

(11:50):
the NFC West. No one's run away with it. If
we were in the division with the Lions, I'd be concerned,
be a little different, little concerned. But a lot of
season left. The big week of preparation is even get
over this. But nonetheless, Yawks fall the four in five
in our last place in the NFC West.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
But yesterday there were a lot of plays made. Playmakers touch.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Playmakers.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
What time it is?

Speaker 5 (12:16):
Holy?

Speaker 3 (12:20):
All right? First one, Geno Smith, He's.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
Gonna catch a lot of he He's gonna catch a
lot of He three turnovers, okay, but he was twenty
one to thirty four, three hundred and sixty three yards,
three touchdowns and like I mentioned, three interceptions, a QB
rating of ninety point seven. Gino is now tied with
math Feugh Hassleback for second place for the most three
hundred yard games in a single season in franchise history
with four.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Gino had some.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
Mistakes, had some help with those mistakes, but also kept
you in the game no timeouts, left less than two
minutes left on the clock, fourth and five converting to
JSN getting in the end zone. He even got Cody
White involved in again. Yeah, nice touch, nice touch over
the top of me. Gino played a good game for
the most part. But obviously you look at those three
interceptions and you have some concerns. Definitely needs to take

(13:06):
care of the football, but you're not in this game
without the performance of Gino Smith.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
And the thing, I told you this last night, and
I really wish I want everyone I'm gonnaok at the camera.
I want everyone to really hear me when I say this.
People need to be able to separate a bad play
here and there from being a bad player. It just
makes no sense. But a bad play does not make
you a bad player. That doesn't discount everything you've done.

(13:32):
Sometimes your bad plays outweigh the good or vice versa. Right,
but there's got to be some kind of separation. He
makes a bad play and we're gonna take away everything
good he's done. And and like you just said, in
that game, after everything that happened, drives you down the field,
gets you right where you need to be. Yep, it's
just it's it's frustrating because I know, I feel like
for some people's long hanging fruit, because they've made up

(13:54):
their mind about what they think he is, sir, And
we've been fighting an uphill battle about this forever. So
I'll probably falling deaf ears here. I'm just saying, man,
separate bad moments or bad plays from bad players.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
Your daughter doesn't listen sometimes, right right, Still a good kid, absolutely.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Good kid, still spoken like a true Pano. Then the
other guy.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
So let's get into the receivers JSN seven receptions, one
hundred and eighty yards, two touchdowns, career high and receiving
yards and touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
And he did this having seventy.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
Eight yards taken off the board, forty yard reception, a
thirty eight yard reception because of the two holding penalties,
now bump, if you take those away, he would have
been he would have had the second best game in
the history of the Seahawks. Who comes to receiving yards,
he would have had two hundred and fifty eight. Steve
Largin holds a record at two sixty one and he
got the Dance and Lions back in nineteen eighty seven.

(14:47):
But JSN, I'm just so pumped for him. He came
out and he stepped up. There's been a lot of
conversation about, well, he's the first he's a first round pick.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
We're not seeing the explosive players. We're not seeing this
we got.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
We saw him breaks tackles, we saw him go over
the top, we saw him make explosive plays and kind
of show no, I can be that guy and I
can make those plays.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
So it's great to see him ball out.

Speaker 5 (15:08):
He needed to see this, We needed to see this,
the fans needed to see it because he's in the
shadows of DK.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
This is DK squad.

Speaker 5 (15:14):
When it comes to throwing the football on receive, and
he is the most explosive receiver on this team. He's
still second in the league when it comes to twenty
plus yard catches even though he's been out two weeks.
That's how good DK has been for this squad. So
for a young man get into his second year being
the twentieth pick, it's so validating for him to be like, look, yes,
we lost, and he's going to feel a certain way
about it because it came after a loss. But now

(15:35):
he can turn on the film and remind himself this
is what I'm capable of, and hopefully the fans start
to buy in to that as well. Another receiver, Tyler Lockett,
three receptions for sixty three yards and one touchdown. This
is what the old head does on the basketball court, right.
You go to your local LA fitness and the old
head is just conducting stuff. Hey, alright, fella, get back

(15:56):
on defense, and when you need a play, ha, he's
gonna get you. That's what Tyler Lockett did. Everything's going crazy.
Got all these punts, you said, Well, the first eight
out of nine possessions were nothing but punts. Tyler Locket says,
calm down, I got you. Let me put you on
the board. It was good to see sixteen. And then
he got another catch that was big for a first
down as well. So Tyler Lockett man steady number.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
Sixteen, old, reliable, always gonna make plays. Love to see
Tyler Locke doing this thing. And then super excited for
our guy. Cody White eighty two, two receptions, forty four yards,
blocks a punt, draws a pass interference in his Seahawks debut,
And as a guy, you probably can speak this better
than anyone, being a guy on the practice squad getting
your opportunity and making plays in a game. I told

(16:36):
you in the offseason, I've seen Cody White and he's
just a hell of an athlete. Back last year, they're
having a little competition Wednesday and I saw him dunk
of basketball. I saw him do a three to sixty dunk,
and I go, wow, that dude's an athlete. And we
saw it a little bit during training camp, so it's
not we haven't seen it, so no one in the
building is surprised.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
But it was really cool to.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
See a guy who was just on the practice squad
coming the game and make all those kind of plays.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
I remember being having that call and going up to
the office and talking to the OC and they saying,
you're ready, You're gonna play. And for him to step
up the way that he has, he has to be proud. Unfortunately,
it's still a loss, but if he didn't make those
three plays, he made even four because the pass interference
was big. This team isn't even in position to make
make the play at the end of the game. So

(17:18):
big ups to eighty two Leonard Williams. This is what
we're talking about. When the defense had themselves a hell
of a game, but unfortunately no one's really gonna remember it.
It's because of guys like him. Leonard was in that backfield.
Five tackles, two QB hits, one tackles for lost. I'm
still amazed that the Hawks recorder no sacks because it
felt like they were always around Matthew Staffers. This one
surprised me hearing them. Ernest Jones, he's selling in. You know,

(17:42):
he got he got his lazy boy in the living
room with his remote. Now he's getting comfortable here in Seattle.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Man.

Speaker 5 (17:48):
He had nine tackles, one TfL and one pass defended.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
Yeah. I love to see Ernest Jones.

Speaker 6 (17:53):
Man.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
I wish you would have got the interception. Yeah, yeah,
I don't hurt.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
But he gets to play l a again later this year,
so you know, that's a big game for him. Broadcasting
live from the Seahawks Podcast Studio presented by Sony, the
official headphones partner of the Seattle Seahawks. This NFL season,
every play, every hit, every moment with the Sony one

with Sony headphones.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Bump. We alluded to it a little bit here. Take
us to the receiver roundup. Who balled out?

Speaker 5 (18:30):
Well, we know who really balled out JSN seven for one,
eighty two touchdowns at long of forty six. Tyler Lockett
three catches sixty three yards, one touchdown. Cody White eighty two,
two receptions forty four yards. He got aj Barner, who
had himself a good day as well, four for twenty seven,
Zach Sharbney had two for twenty five, and then Ken
Walker three for twenty four together three hundred and sixty

(18:53):
three yards.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
Man, Yeah, I mean again, Gino has another three hundred
yard passing game. Like you look at those numbers in
you're like, okay, that's winning football. It's a good day
right for the you know, you look at receptions targets.
Obviously Jason got some unlucky with some penalties, but like you.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
Take those out too.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
We talked about Jason's record, Gino Smith probably has a
record too in passing yards with those easily over four hundred,
you know what I mean. So it's it's it's disappointing,
but you know it is what it is talking about
those two Gino Smith and Jackson Smith and Jigba. They
hooked up for a huge play to keep the Seahawks
hopes alive, winking up for a fourteen yard touchdown, tying
the score at fourteen.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
At twenty.

Speaker 6 (19:33):
Walker back in the back field on first and ten
at the Rams fourteen, Gino has time crows to the end.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
Zone, touchdown Shayhawks Pit's Jackson Smith the jackab he jumped.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Into the stands. He may never get out. No fans
are gonna take him home.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
What a game by JSN And what a.

Speaker 6 (19:54):
Throw between two defenders Geno Smith from fourteen yards out
and the Hawks are a phg away from tying this
game at twenty with fifty one seconds left.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
This is great understanding of how to move a defender.
So Gino's in shotgun, he has a running back to
the left of him. You got a tight bunch formation
to the left. He motioned Bubo from left to right.
Bubo motions. Now he goes into the flat. There's a
corner over there that Bubbo's either going to get the ball.
He's going to attract that corner right because as a
safety over the top, focus on JSN.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
Jason is the number two receiver inside of Bubo.

Speaker 5 (20:32):
On his release, he takes a slight inside release to
move that dB inside and clear a nice little path,
gets to ten yard snaps it off. Now, great catch,
but the throw is ridiculous. There are two DB's right there.
Hits Jason right in the chest. He ain't even have
to use his hands. He didn't have to use his
hands right in the chest. He has he knows he's
gonna get hit. Boom, he gets hit. Big play, big catch.

(20:56):
This is why I'll rock with Gino. Yeah, it's those plays.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
He throws.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
One of the best footballs in the night. I mean
the NFL, the entire NFL. And what I love about
both these it's back to back plays. The play before
this was fourth and five and you throw that faded
JSN on the sideline, another perfect pass from Gino.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
You come back very next play.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
They link up again and shout out to Jacksons been
the jig Bob forgetting because he.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
Got popped on both those plays.

Speaker 4 (21:20):
Yes he did and popped up you would have known
it was right in your face, jumped in the stand.
So love to see the toughness out of him. And
I'm hoping this is just the beginning. When Jaysn kind
of had another one hundred yard game against the Patriots,
I think it was in Week two, we're really hoping that. Okay,
now we're going Now, we're gonna start seeing these all
the time, and I'm just hoping this is gonna be
the genesis for that. I hope DK can come back
because we need him to come back. But I'm hoping

(21:41):
that confidence like you alluded to there with him and
DK coming back, what they can do with a healthy
team going into San Francisco after the bye. But unfortunately,
yesterday the clock just ran out on the Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Taken by Hunley. They're just gonna left the clock. I
doubt I'm not even gonna bother taking that.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Last time out.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
But Sunday was a game the Seahawks loved to have
back because, like I said at the beginning of the podcast,
they were the better team in that moment, they outgained them.
They played better at times, but again it's hard for
me to fully say that because when you need to
make certain plays in the game, they didn't execute in
the Rams did.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
They did some things that made it harder than they
had to be. For sure, they got to fix some
things up, so hopefully during the bye week they do
exactly that. They won the time of possession too, but
they turned the ball over three times and Geno was
sacked seven times. Matthew Stafford was not sacked at all.
But the best thing to come from Sunday was how
the Seahawks defense played. Man, Now, it's about getting everybody
to execute at the same time, everyone.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
At the same time, and we shall see. Is gonna
be tough against the Niners.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
But you got two weeks to prepare for these dudes,
so they see what game plan they come up with.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
Yeah, I mean, it just looked completely different defensively.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
I mean, I think the Seahawks had about seven to
three and outs, which is a ton against a team
like the Rams, who We've lost to the Rams obviously
in the last couple But our loss to the Rams
didn't look like yesterday. It looked more like, yeah, guys
running wide open confusion, all this kind of stuff that
wasn't the case yesterday. The Seahawks defense played a good game.
There's a good game plan, and like you said, the
Niners are gonna be tough. Who knows if Christian McCaffrey

(23:14):
will be playing that day or not. The one nice
thing is the Seahawks will finally have a week off
leading into that game. The Niners will play I believe
the Bucks next weekend, so we'll see what happens there. Man,
But tough game. A lot of season left. With a
seventeen game season, it's hard to figure out what the
halfway point is. This is essentially it in a way,
so a lot of ball left. I'm excited to see

(23:35):
what the Seahawks can do with that one night.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
Let's get it. Come on.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
We were broadcasting live from the Seahawks Podcast Studio, presented
by Sony, the official partner of the Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Seahawks do not get it done. Follow the Rams twenty
six to twenty.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
He's Michael Bummas some on NASA Trobe, but you remember,
you can catch us everywhere Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Series XM,
and on YouTube under the Seahawks Press Bass channel. So
we'll be back with you after the bye, hopefully talking
about you know, getting ready for the same sickle four
nine ers and then hopefully talking about a win. Like
I said, he's Michael Bama, some NASA Chobe. This has
been hot talk.
