Speaker 1 (00:00):
Wow. Wow, Hey everybody, It's Monday, September fifteen, twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Welcome to the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
We want a bonus Pott the yard field goal, I
mean your man MG Mark is growing joined by Michael F.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Floyal and Lakwan Jones.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
I don't know, guys, if you are old enough to
remember this, but because I am an old, we're at
least getting to be an old. There was a time
in the NFL when if a guy kicked a fifty
yarder like that was a big deal. Right now we
have Brandon Aubrey going out here crushing sixty yard field
goals and being like, yeah, that was probably good from seventy,
(00:36):
Like what fifty.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Is no longer impressive? You know, It's just not like
if your kicker.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
This is like being asked Jake Moody, who is unemployed now,
like if you this fifty yard field goals?
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Like fans like, what are you doing out there? Now?
Mind you? I know the quote. I've seen your video.
I know I had a chance to do it.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
I took the tour at Sofi Stadium where they set
you up with what like basically a.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Kind of a long end point and I put it through.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
But I was like, all right, man, this is not simple, simple, right,
And that was on a tee with no one coming
at you, like, no crowd noise. It's just like you
at a quiet stadium. And I'm like, I know that
wasn't like the easiest thing in the world. So, like,
I can't imagine stepping up and just blasting a sixty
four yard field goal.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
I think we're gonna have a lot of kicker controversies
around the league soon because.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Young Wayku is up in the air now, Bills fans no, I'm.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
Here, like, I'm here on a minimum deal, Like I
want the basic of basic of deals. Like I have
video footage on my Twitter kicking a forty yard or
It may not be full technique, but I've been playing
soccer since I was sick. So the video you kick
it a forty yard field goal, Yes, at Sofi Stadium.
It's the most ugliest technique ever, but it gets the
(01:50):
job done.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
It gets the job done. That's wild.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
All I know is that my wife in her office
is in a survivor pool and I told her to
take the Cowboys this week, being like, oh you're not.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
It's fine.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
I'm like, the Giants are terrible. It's fine, It's gonna
be It's gonna be fine. I was like, you know,
if you, if you, if you don't want to take
the Giants or the Cowboys, you can take the Bengals.
That one's dead. One should be easy too. I actually
did suggest the Rams, but she's like, if the Rams
lose and I lose in this.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
The firepool would be double sad. I was like, all right,
that's fair. So like I sweated through this.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
I have never in my life rooted for the Cowboys
so hard as as I did on Sunday because I
just needed there to be peace in my house.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
I feel your band a little bit.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Because not a Survivor pool, but in Nicola, it's one
fantasy league. It's a super flex. And her quarterbacks are
Josh Allen and Justin Fields, and in their game together
they combined for like fifteen points and she ken't be like,
Bryce Young has double the amount of points to the
two of them. And I was like, welcome to fantasy
there you go.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Yeah, I know Jesse has Joe Burrow and just from
the kitchen I just heard of what.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
I was like, oh yeah, yeah, Joe Bob So which
we'll get to that in just a little bit. Welcome,
because Week two wraps up today with a pair of
Monday night football games. We got a double header, sort
of a double header. They actually spaced them out. There's
no overlap i think with these two games, or these
get a little overlap.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
With these two games. But we're gonna do what the
bleep is going on.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
I'll give you a little bit of rookie update, plus
play some panic or patience with some guys who are
sort of struggling to start the year and whether or
not we're ready to pull.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
The shoot on this one or if we're gonna wait
a little bit longer.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
And then, of course, because it is Monday, we will
get you some waiver wire picks heading into Week three.
But we'll start, as always with some news, and we
will start with the aforementioned Joe Burrow, who left the
game against the Jaguars on Sunday with a turf toe
injury that is bad enough to make matters worse. Reports
are it possibly will need surgery, likely will need surgery,
(03:54):
and in that event he will be out at least
three months, possibly more. I mean floyal that essentially is
the fantasy season. If he's gone for three months, he
has gone for the year. That means it is the
Jake Browning show in Cincinnati. I mean, I know we're not.
You're not punting on Jamar Chase. How are we feeling
(04:15):
about T Higgins like the sicky you no offense? I mean,
everybody not named Jamar Chase, How are we feeling at
this point?
Speaker 3 (04:23):
I think Jamar Chase, like you said, he remains very
much so in play. I think T Higgins does as well,
but that could change. Right, Like I'm saying, going into
Week three, if I have T Higgins, I'm still gonna
use him. But if this looks like what the Dolphins
looked like last year without Tua, let's say, for example,
that changes as we move on.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
But I did, and I've seen other people doing this
as well.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
I went and I looked back at the seven starts
from twenty twenty three with Jake Browning, and in classic
Bengals fashion, both wide receivers miss time. During that stretch.
T Higgins ridged six. They both like it was six
and seven targets per game, six for Higgins, seven for Chase.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Higgins will actually average more yards per game and scored
more touchdowns in that stretch.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
I do think it's worth noting, though, that Jamar Chase
got hurt in one of those games, didn't play the
next week, and then didn't play the full allotment of
snaps in the.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Two after that.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
So I don't think we have a perfect sample here
of what it's gonna look like. And Browning is probably
better than he was two years ago. But yeah, it's
gonna be I think for right now. You play those
two guys and then we adjust on the fly as
we go, and if if they could do anything, please
start throwing the ball to Chase brown more too, because
that has been super frustrating to start the year.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
I was gonna ask you a quant I mean, does
this help Chase brown at all?
Speaker 1 (05:44):
If you have a quarterback that I know, I can't
imagine we're gonna see Jake Browning just launching moon balls
down field for Higgins and Chase. I would think it's
gotta be a little bit of a positive for Chase.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Brown right Absolutely for a checkdown. I do see that happening,
because you know what comes with Jake Browning interceptions. There's
a lot of interceptions on his belt fourteen touchdowns, ten interceptions.
He just threw three in his first opportunity to stepping
in and.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Play a game. But yeah, which is insane to me.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
So I'm like, no, I'm kind of on the side
of like Chase Brown, he remains one of those running
backs at the top tier that has fantasy opportunities on
the table for him, with.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Joe Burrow or not.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
I'm just a little bit more worried about his scoring
opportunities of getting into that striking distance to get those
six points that we want on a week to week basis.
So I think he's going to have to work a
little bit harder on a week to week basis. I'm
a little worried about T Higgins because I'd rather ship
him now to get off the roller coaster that we're
going to constantly worry about, Hey, is this going to
be a Chamar Chase week or T Higgins week? Or hey,
(06:43):
is T Higgins going to be healthy at.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
All this season?
Speaker 4 (06:48):
You know, Like, I want a full season from my guys,
but without Joe Burrow down for three months, I don't
feel exactly comfortable right now having a Bengals skill player
on my roster right now.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
The other part that comes into play here is now
I think you're streaming defenses against the Bengals until we yeah,
it act well, and even I was even kind of
leaning that way even.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
With Burrow there.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Now, granted, with Joe Burrow, the danger is that the
Bengals can you know, put up thirty five to forty
points on your defense and then that's gonna be a
bad day.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
The scoring opportunities go down with Jake Browning.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
But then the part of is even just watching that game,
even before Burrow went out, he was under pressure a lot.
You know, he got hit on the play obviously where
he gets injured, but there are a couple other plays.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
There was one that probably should have been called a lateral.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
He gets hit and the ball squirts out of his
hand and from my vantage point it went backwards, but
they called it an incomplete pass, which was sort of fortunate.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
But he was under pressure a lot before he went down.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
At least with Joe Burrow, I trust he's gonna get
the ball out to his quick reads and make something happen.
I don't have that same level of confidence with Jake Browning.
So streamer defense is against the Bengals.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
That's one I think saving grace here is the Bengals
defense is so bad and like, obviously you're not gonna
get the same like efficiency with Joe Burrow, but you're
still gonna get volume, I think because the Bengals are
going to have to put up points. And we saw
yesterday like that's why Jamar chasing t eight targets for
Higgins sixteen for two.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Again, it's not gonna be what it was with Joe Burrow, but.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
It's not gonna be like when these other teams lose
their starting quarterback and like suddenly they're throwing twenty times
a game, because I don't think the Bengals are gonna
be able to do that.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
This is like the monkey's paw of starts to the
season for the Bengals. It's like they wish to not
have a bad start to the year. So great, you're
two and zero, you also don't have your starting franchise quarterback.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
For everything's coming up bills through two weeks in the AFC,
the Chiefs are going to the Bengals don't have Joe Burrow.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
You still gotta deal with Lamar.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
They gotta win a hand though against Lamar, so the
tiebreaker like, I can't remember when I saw this or
who told me this, but like you know now that
the word out on the streets is it's bad news
for the Bills that they won the Week one matchup
because when they inevitably meet in the postseason that the Ravens.
That's always how it goes with the Chiefs, whoever wins
the regular season, so it's always the Bills in this.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
So I mean, good news for the Bills they won
in the regular season.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
The bad news is there's a pretty good chance they're
going to see the Ravens again in the postseason. Meanwhile,
over in New York, Justin Fields is off to a
really good start, had a good Week one, look like
things were, you know, maybe progressing for a decent Week
two against the Bills. But he had to leave that
game with a concussion. So we will wait as he
goes through the protocol and seeing what happens next week, Lukwan,
(09:40):
the Jets head down to Tampa to take on the Buccaneers.
We do play on Monday night, so we don't have
a full accounting of what to expect from them necessarily,
But if for whatever reason, Fields can't go, is this
Breee Hall season.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
I'm a little hesitant to say yes, just based on
we have to rely on this Jets O line to
be pushing bodies and getting Brissee Hall, you know, involved
heavily in this run game without Justin Fields. I think
Tyrod Taylor came in didn't look terrible. I mean, he
put up the same amount of pass attense and completed
more passes in the fourth quarter alone than Justin Fields
the entire game. So I do look like there's gonna
(10:15):
be some functionality of this Jets offense. But I'm just
a little hesitant on my expectations for Briest Hall to
be bris Laytning to be giving this RB one season
as long as Justin Fields off the field, I just
feel a little bit more hesitant about it because if
I have other options at running backs, like so some
guys that are cooking up right now, I rather flex
them and kind of just play the wait and see
(10:35):
game until we understand what this Jets offense looks like.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Because it was terrible, terrible.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
They had five yards at the start of the second quarter,
like bro that is disgusting, and Brice Hall was not
doing you know anything that was like Breese Hall like
it was just more so like, hey, the Jets offense
is bad right now, and these are the weeks that
are going to come with Justin Fields that we have
to kind of strap ourselves to.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Yeah, I mean Week one was very good for Breeze Hall.
Week two not so much, Floyd.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
When you look at the passing game though, it's it's
Garrett Wilson and who else. I mean, it feels like
Garrett Wilson kind of says fairly stable just because who
else do they throw the ball to?
Speaker 2 (11:16):
There? Yeah, that exactly.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
But I do think people are going to overreact to
the Justin Fields game this week. Like I know, I'm
a huge field supporter, I'm also a Bills fan. I
was watching that game extremely closely. Tyrod was playing against
a lot of backups and stuff, and it's a reminder
of the Bills defense against like league average or below
league average defenses look great every time. So like, this
(11:41):
is something that we've seen happen before. It's one bad
game for fields. We've seen now the highs and the
lows of Justin Fields. But I still think there's going
to be a lot more highs like next week if
he ends up playing against the Bucks. I'm gonna be
playing him in fantasy, but I'll probably be playing Breeze Hall.
I don't have him on a ton of teams, but
I will be. Like the game script went as poorly
(12:02):
as possible for the Jets in this one, because they
went behind seven nothing to the Bills and then a
quick turnover on a short It was like a thirty
yard field all of a sudden, Now you're down two
scores the entire game. That is a recipe for disaster
for this Jets team. So they need to avoid starts
like that. But I don't foresee being down double digits
five minutes into the game or whatever it was being
(12:24):
the norm for this team.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
Yeah, I mean they're not a team that, as you mentioned,
they go back, they go down a couple scores. It's
hard for them to put together quick scoring drives, big plays.
They're just not really an explosive offense like that. So
it does change the game plan for what.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
Fields was also throwing the ball very terrible, Like there
was a lot of balls that were not catchable. It
was just one of those games that we knew that
he was gonna have. Like it's one of those up
and down things each and every week. We're gonna just
have to deal with it kind of because I don't
see me benching Fields. If I have fields and my
backup like Brock Purty or somebody, or Trevor mid Lawrence,
I would feel a lot better obviously, having justin Fields
(13:02):
in my starting line up.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yeah, you know, it's funny. I don't. I don't.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
I don't think I put anything regarding the Jaguars in
the rundown today.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
I I don't know.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
It wasn't on purpose, like I wasn't trying to avoid it,
Like I haven't fun I have no allegiance to Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
I wasn't trying to avoid anything. Just there's really in
the middle. Let's let's get the meet up middle meter
if we can. So he's still low, He's not, He's
he was not even t mid. No, it's been updated,
is it.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
I mean he was so at the moment with two
games still left to be played. He is QB fourteen
on the week, nineteen points, which isn't terrible. I mean
because of where everybody else is. He's not a QB one,
but nineteen points is mid. That feels mid, you know,
it is definitely better than it was in week one
when he only.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Got your tan. Yeah, so you know he's he's Team
mid at least, I think he's t low. No, I
think you can move him up to Team did. Hey.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
I think it's one of those games where the fantasy
stats look better than Oh no.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
That is definitely true.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Like I'm not arguing that and all the fantasy stats
are better than what happened on the field. I watched
that game, and yeah, it just it wasn't like he
had to the touchdown pass early it to Theommie Brown.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
I think like the next drive he followed up with
like a bad interception question.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
I think the big takeaway is trying to buy low
on especially Brian Thomas Junior.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
I think Travis Hunter fits in that regard as well.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Yeah, I just you know, it's going to be a struggle.
Unless Trevor Lawrence gets significantly better, it's just gonna be.
It's gonna be up and down.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
And William Cohen might brawl by week eight. Who knows, Hey,
you know what exactly? It could be the canon event
that Bo Nixon Sean Payne had. It could be the
spark that Trevor mid Lawrence needs.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
I'm I know that video is going around you said
to twist Lakwanfort. For those of you who don't know,
there's a video from the game where Liam Cohen is
is very demonstrative. He's yelling, he's like beating his chest
about something, and Lawrence kind of looks at him in
kind of waves them off and then goes back to
the play.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
I'm not really taking that as.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Anything other than like, in the heat of the moment,
two guys having a disagreement and then they will not
like I'm not Yeah, it would have been hilarious if
he threw an interception on that past interesting regardless of
how this goes. If I'm Trevor Lawrence, it's better than
Urban Meyer, That's all I know. Oh yeah, better than I'm.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
Just saying, you're right, Okay, the Jackson offensively yard wise,
elist throw on their best start in twenty five years.
So it.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Travestn is working. T're working there, it is.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Yeah, we'll get to We'll get to Beshawtuton a little
bit later on too, because that was I think.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
An interesting part of the game yesterday as well.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Could take a quick break where to come back and
try to dive into some weirdness from week two, also
kind of update you on some of the rookies and
maybe what their futures are going to be. Stick around
for more of the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. So looking
at some of the things things that happened on the
field on Sunday and trying to divine what this means
(16:07):
in the greater scheme of things. A little segment we.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Started last week called what the is going on? LaQuan Is?
Is Daniel Jones? Good? Yes, let's go.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Come on, man, you knew I was gonna come here
in victory last.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
I hear they're calling him Indiana Jones. Now, yeah, he
earned his name. He earned the nickname.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
I literally said five days ago, I said, what if
Daniel Jones lights up the Denver Broncos And here we
are Monday morning. Sky has over three hundred yards on
the Denver Broncos defense. Only two other quarterbacks have done
that in the past year, James Winston and Joe Burrow.
You can add Dan Heal Jones to that. All the
Colts needed, That's weird, somebody exactly all you needed was
(16:55):
somebody to complete the passes. And that's exactly what we're getting.
You're seeing guys like a Josh Downs being utilized out
of that slot, being a security blanket form getting the
yards after you catch Tyler Warren looking like the amazing
top three tight end that we all this summer. We're
on board for Daniel Jones is going out there doing
his job. He should be picked up off waivers. There
(17:15):
should be no league right now where I am not
interested in getting him. If I've lost a rock party,
or if I'm stuck with a Trevor mit Lawrence or
any other quarterback will question marks. I like Daniel Jones's
upside that we were talking about in previous five when
I kept saying upside.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Oh look at that deep ball. It looks kind of
Chris Tom.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
But he needs to connect with ad Mitchell because I
think that's where you'll get more bang for your buck
on that deep ball.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
I res I mean, I'm I will say two things.
I'm willing to be wrong.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
I think I agree with Lakwan he should be picked
off waivers and stuff. This also could be what last
year Saints was.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
I'm not ruling that out here.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
No, no, no, don't do that to Danny Dimes.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Come on, I mean damn car.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
I mean, but how many times we've seen this movie
with Daniel Jones right where.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
This is a good defense man, you know?
Speaker 1 (18:06):
And that was that was why I put this as
a topic, right, because okay, one thing, when they light
up the Dolphins in week one, because we've seen through
two weeks the Dolphins are smoldering tire fire right now, right,
it's just not good. So it's like, okay, let's wait
and see, right, and then he goes and he marches
up and down the field. It's three hundred passing yards
against the Broncos, against a legitimately good defense. So it's like,
(18:29):
all right, now we can have the conversation. But how
many times have we seen Daniel Jones do this where
you know it's the hope that kills you? Right, He
gets you involved, he starts to get you to buy
in a little bit, and then you get the one
hundred and seventy three yards with a touchdown and two
picks sort of thing, like.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
I think that's on the way he's gonna all right, Well,
I did a skit.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
I did a skit.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
Over the summer where I made like a scary movie
reference of like it's going to be terrifying to be
drafting Daniel Jones or even like thinking that he could
be strapped to a good fantasy season. We're gonna be
on the edge of our seats all season long, waiting
for the other shoe to drop. But at the time,
right now, Daniel Jones has shown us that he can
work the pocket. All he has to do really is
(19:12):
just hand it off the JT or screening him get
up the field like he did yesterday. So I do
feel like there's upside for Daniel Jones.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
By the way, how much were how much were you
looking over your shoulder, you know, shooting that video in
like the grocery store, like sticky, sticky pictures of Daniel
Jones's faces to like boxes of you know whatever, mac
and cheese or whatever.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
What you did? Listen, go ahead, Flory.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
I would say one thing we haven't mentioned, and I
think it's the biggest thing for Daniel Jones fantasy value
through two weeks.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
It's him and Josh Allen who lead the league in
goal line carries.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
Like if that continues, that's very bad for Jonathan Taylor,
but very good for Daniel Jones.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Very bad for Jonathan Taylor. By the way.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
It's also very bad for Anthony Richardson, whose name we
have not spoken aloud in several weeks.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
So yeah, as long as Jones keeps playing like this.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Three rushing touchdowns is already the second most he's had
in any season in his career.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
That's let's go.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
That's that is why why I'm a little I'm picking
him up. I'm gonna say I might even put him
as a start and start sit this week.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
Put it like this, though, you look at what he
had to deal with in New York, A terrible old line,
a completely like I would say, Walmart brand of wide
receivers at choice, and it's like, what was he supposed
to go out there?
Speaker 2 (20:27):
We have my league neighbors for.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
Weeks, but the offense was trash and the old line
is still trash as we see this year. But it's like,
what could Daniel Jones do? They're they're like, he's in
a completely different way.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
The only quarterback with more passing yards than Daniel Jones
right now, Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Let's go, the guy that replaced the guy that replaced
him in New York.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
That's Russell Wilson's a better quarterback than Dan but I
ain't starting Russ. I ain't starting Rusting. No lineup, y'all
start rushing.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
I'm not starting rush.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
I actually do have him on a dynasty roster, but
he's not He's not getting off the bench.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
There was like three players at a row where Jackson Dark
played yesterday and I was like, it's happening, and then.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
But not really. They were like rotating through and then
rust comes back and throws.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
The long touchsout yeahs at the end. Since we're talking
about East Coast teams U up there in the northeast,
Florio has has anyone seen Trevion Henderson.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
That was quite the transition.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Thanks, Oh no, no, yesterday was about as bad of
a day as Traveon Henderson could have had.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
He had three holding penalties. At one point in the
first half, he was fourth and carries on the Patriots
like they're using Antonio Gibson. Now, look, Ramadre Stevenson popped
and I'm not gonna take away from him. We've seen
him pop before though, and then he goes back to
being what he is. But that kind of game is
(21:51):
gonna make it harder for them to shy away from him.
And the penalties are going to add up. I still
believe Travion is their best.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Talent there, and I be trying to buy low right
now because I've seen a lot of people on Twitter
panicking about Trevion. But sadly, I'm going to put him
as a sit and start sit this week because unless,
like I have certain teams where I was so invested
in Trevion that I just simply cannot get away. But
if you have another option, I think you gotta take
(22:20):
it right now, because it's hard to score fantasy points
when you're just not getting opportunities.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
This feels like a thing that I don't think any
of us took into account when his ADP was pushing
up there towards the third round. Is while Bill Belichick
isn't physically there in New England and apparently he's beefing
with the Patriots so hard that he's not gonna get
any of his UNC guys scouted for the Patriot whatever.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
That's a whole other conversation. But he's not that physically.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
He's there in spirit, right Mike Rabel is the head coach,
Josh McDaniels is the offensive coordinator. I mean, this is
do your job two point zero, and so maybe we
should have taken into account that a rookie was really
going to have to be spectacular to get playing time,
and also that Josh McDaniels, at least early on, is
(23:12):
going to lean on a guy who is it'll be
somewhat familiar with the offense, and that Vermandre Stevens. Hey, look,
it could still change, but this feels like a portion
of the equation that.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
We all sort of overlooked in the trayveon hype. So
I do want to say, like Bucky Irving last year
through two weeks was on waivers in some weeks, you know,
like it's a long season.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
Rookies are gonna be bad at the beginning, and that's
why I'm buying low on Trevion.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
But yeah, until we see it, I think you could
get away. Yeah you can.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
You can put him on the bench for now and
then when we start to see the because first we
just need the usage.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
I had people being like should I drop him? And
that I mean, yeah, deserved, go ahead, drop him, drop him?
Go ahead? Dare you? That isn't let me know how
that works.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Speaking of running backs, lakwan, where did Dylan Samson go
on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
Uh, I mean geez.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
I mean we'll just see the Browns. They are getting smacked.
I mean they were getting smoked.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
But like quin Shawn Jukins led the team and carries
on something.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
That I think that's originally what the roles were supposed
to be when they drafted him. Mean, Junkins was gonna
handle most of the carries. He was gonna be like
your early down back, and then Samson's gonna be your
little change of pace back that catches, you know, passes
here and there. Like right now, he's six in the season,
I mean six and in the league going into Monday
night and receiving yards him on running back.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
So I look at this like, Okay, he carved out his.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
Role, and Jenkins he looked good with his opportunities. Man,
he looked electric. And then it's like Jerome Ford ends
as the odd man out. So I think you're gonna
be looking at this Brown's backfield, which I hate that
you're investing this heavily into this Browns backfield if you're
in this situation. But I do think that Samson holds
like flex back you on a weekly week base. As
long as Joe Flacco's the quarterback. Just he's going to
(25:04):
get Pepper with targets. That's just kind of what it's
been with the Browns offense these last couple of seasons.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
We need to room four to go away. Yeah, I just.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
You're gonna have to wait, well, at least one of
the guys to go away, Like I, you know, two
men backfields, we can figure out. Three men backfields are
a problem. So I honestly because I'm not invested in
the Browns backfield, like I don't really care which one
goes away, but we need one of them to sort of.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
Fade into the background. So we can just decide the
two to two, all three head between ten point one
and ten points six fantasy points this week.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
That's is like they're all even and none of them
are satisfying. Like, yep, that's exactly it.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
Satisfying.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
I'll say this, at least with Judkins, if you if
you have him, you didn't spend a lot of draft
capital or maybe even picked him up off the waiver wires.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
So at least with him, the upside.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
The ward strongly outweighs the risk that you put into it.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
I think he's going to be a force down the stretch,
like I could see him carving even a role in
the past and being potentially.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Especially once the Browns are officially eliminated from playoff contention,
which you know could be by Halloween. I look, I
mean think they play in the same like at this point.
I look at the the AFC North. The Bengals gonna
be about Joe Burrow pretty much all year. The Steelers
are going to be mid The Browns are gonna brown
(26:33):
like the Ravens. I mean another one in one. But
they lost to the Bills like nobody's nobody's dinging them
for that, you know what I'm saying, Like they can
run away with this division.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Feels like like those two divisions are going to kind
of be wrapped up very quickly, very very quickly, for sure.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
A sound a saptually florial. Patrick Mahomes right now was like,
is he the best rusher on the Chiefs roster? Yes?
Speaker 3 (26:59):
He is led the Chiefs in carries, not carries, but
in rushing yards and touchdowns each of the two games.
He let when I looked this up last night, this
was going into Monday night football, bijeon.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
I don't know if you guys heard he's now man,
he was, I'm gonna start calling him by jan like
just b Rob.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
I think that Dejon Muster company was like, dude, it
doesn't work if you're bajon back. He might have passed
him last night, but going into Sunday Night football, Mahomes
was leading the NFL in rushing in tenths of ten
plus rushing yards. Like if he's doing he had more
rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in the first half than passing.
(27:38):
If he is doing this, it doesn't matter what the
passing stats look like. He's going to be back in
that elite tier because he's gonna have better passing days
than he did yesterday.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
So I know we all.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
Thought the deep ball coming back was what would maybe
get Mahomes back into that elite tier.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
It might just be his legs. His legs. I think
the deep ball will still be in play.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
I mean, Xavier Worthy was a long shot to play,
but that suggests that he'll be back relatively. Yeahs, he
missed Thornton on one too. He missed one on a
wide open one. I was just like, I'm getting this
one whether you like it or not. So like when
when Rice comes back, when worthy comes back then I
(28:18):
think the deep ball comes back into play. Also would
be nice if Travis Kelsey wasn't pop corning balls into
the hands of uh Eagles defensive backs.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
But you know what do I know?
Speaker 1 (28:30):
Uh so, yeah, it is wild to see that's how
my homes is getting done, because you know, we always
drafted him for the rushing upside.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
That he gives us.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
No, not really's that's let's doll a little bit of
a rookie report here. Had a bunch of them last week.
I got three of them this week that I think
is sort of interesting to talk about. Tech Nicmillan six
catches one hundred yards on ten targets. I will admit
that I didn't really know what to make of technic Millan.
I know a lot of people were high on him.
I was sort of just unsure. Like I'm not saying
(29:00):
I was out. I just didn't know, and I didn't
draft him in a lot of spots. But seeing through
two weeks, Floria, what this Panthers offense is, it's bad.
What is the season long ceiling for McMillan. Could he
be a wide receiver too or is that is that
too high?
Speaker 2 (29:16):
I think he he could definitely be a wide receiver too.
I think his absolute.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
Ceiling is like voluming his way to a low end
wide receiver one finish, but I'm not really banking on that. Look,
the Panthers games, I think are gonna be exactly how
they have been for years. In the first half, They're
gonna be down like forty five nothing or something like that,
and then it's just Bryce Young is gonna go and
comeback mode. He's gonna hit Chuba Hubbard in the flat
(29:41):
like a million times, and he's gonna connect with t McMillan. Uh,
look it, it's gonna be great if you have those guys.
But when you first like I was facing Chewba Hubbard
in numerous leagues this week and through three quarters he
had less than two points and he finishes with like sixteen.
It is maddening because garbage time is very annoying, but
it still counts all the same and stuff. And that
(30:03):
is McMillan's path to a successful fantasy season this year.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Yeah, I mean that does feel about right.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
You know that those it was disgusting, but also like
the Cardinals just vomited on their shoes in the second half,
Like there's no way, there's no way the game should
have been that closed.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
The Panthers had the ball with a chance.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
I mean it wasn't a slim chance, but a chance
to win that thing at the end. But that's just
because the Cardinals couldn't figure out how to put the
game away.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
West teams sitting at two and oh look at you.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
And because we didn't struggle against the Saints, saying, but
we were playing our B team, like half our team
is injured, Like what are you talking about?
Speaker 1 (30:46):
Also, whose team was losing at halftime to the Titans, Sir,
we knew the Titans. If you're throwing out if you're.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
Just throwing out random situation things, and we got to
put this on the table. You can't just you can't
just throw out a situational thing one way and not
expected to come back to you, Like, sir, boomerangs exist,
like this is a thing.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Pans are a good past defense. We knew this, like
that's that what's going to be the game. But we
still came out with a victory. A huge week for
both Like Eagles is huge.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
I know, I know Q had that one circled on
the calendar all year and then now that Cardinals.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Could be for first place. Yeah. Right.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
If you guys lose to the Eagles at the end
of the early hour, the Lake game would be for losing.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Don't please don't burn Please, don't burn yourself on that
hot pot you're.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
Stirring right now, Florida. Don't don't don't burn yourself.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Anyway, let's let's move this along. I put this in
here partially because I think it's noteworthy, partial because I want.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
To pat myself on the back for el iom to
both of you.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Or catches fifty six yards on six targets.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
What are you?
Speaker 1 (32:05):
I watched a little bit of that game with the
Rams and the Titans of Lakwan. I know you were
really really locked in on that game. I'm looking at
that Titans offense. Is there enough volume to sustain this? Like,
I don't think ioman Or is gonna be like, you know,
he's not like a set it and forget it wide receiver.
But you know there's not much therapy on Calvin Ridley.
Is there enough volume for him to actually be relevant
(32:27):
this year?
Speaker 4 (32:28):
I think we need to be patient with him. I
did like what I've seen, you know, him and Cam
Warred connecting a lot. There's actually a tweet I have
from April and I said, I could see it now.
Camp war rolls out of the pock and hits deep
shot down the sideline to Elic Iomanner bringing in in
with one hand. That's exactly what happened down a perimeter
on us, and that's the connection that they're building right now.
I do think there is a wide receiver too, like
(32:50):
saw the floor him to see a chunk of volume,
because I don't think Tyler Lockett or even my guy
Chickaconquo is going to be taking more target looks from
a like iron Manner because he has made himself very
available and they're using him all over the field. He's
being used down the perimeter, it's used in the middle
of the field against crawlsers, down to flets, everything they
want him to do. Where Calvin Ridley, you know, I
(33:13):
think that development between him and cam Ward is going
to take some time. But Elic Iron Manner just seems
like a security blanket for cam Ward to where things
are just going to start ramping and building up as
the seasons go out. So I don't see myself putting
him in the flex anytime soon. I like for him
to rack up these points so I can gain this
trust with him, you know, on my bench, and then
maybe put him into starting lineups, you know, on the
(33:33):
bye week or injury week.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
You know, Tyler Lockett is not going to be a factor.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
He's you know, no, I don't know, he's he's doing
open houses around the US field area right of the
exactly what he had with two catches for nine yards
on three targets, which was an improvement from one target
no catches against the Broncos in Week one. But I think,
you know, for Tyler Lockett, look, he's been he's been
(33:59):
a f fantasy darling for a long time. He's had
a lot of productive years. But as we've seen, the
Titans oftentimes are sort of the old wide receiver rest home,
and it feels like Tyler Lockett is sort of setting
up shop there. That's what to the Chiefs, Sir Baltimore
bro Oh yeah, well, I mean, you know, the Chiefs,
(34:22):
I don't know what they brought in.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
They got Juju in that role.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Juju like he's sort of like he's sort of taking
that spot. And then the race got thep so like
just you know, they're on enough spaces.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Making his way through all the retirement home facts. Pretty much.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Man, people want to find me out and give me
a free dinner and.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Like talk football or whatever. Like I'm I'm down to
do that too, so I'm not mad about it. One
more rookie to talk about base, shall sutan?
Speaker 1 (34:47):
I know we have all been rooting for touting if
for an other reason because we like saying that phrase
out loud, but got some some snaps, right, I mean,
take Bigsby is out the door.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
I know we was. Week one was a lot of
la quint Allen. I didn't believe that was going to
be a thing.
Speaker 4 (35:04):
Absolutely, not too much on LQ, not too much.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
It's not about him.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
Like look, man, if they weren't trading Tank Bigsby because
of la quint Allen, right, he was there last year
and they didn't feel they need to move Tank Bigsby.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
So obviously something change.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
That change was Beshal twoton forty two rushing yards, two
catches for thirty two yards and any touchdown FLOORA he's
got some juice?
Speaker 2 (35:26):
Is he startable yet?
Speaker 3 (35:29):
I feel exactly about him, like LQ was just saying
with Elick ayomannor I think there's potential for him to
become a useful fantasy piece, but I'm not there yet,
Like I want to pick him up off waivers.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
I want him on my bench.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
I think he could become someone that bye week or
injury replacements, and if anything happens to Travis Etn, then
he's obviously in play for fantasy. But after just one
week there, especially week three, still no buy stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
I'm not at the point where I'm considering starting him yet,
but we could get there very quickly. I think that's fair.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
I know, you know, I think for a lot of us,
Tooton was like a draft and stash, see what happens.
At the time, it was see if he can push
Tank Bigsby for an opportunity. Obviously the opportunity was him
pushing Tank Bigsby out the door, so we'll see what
that develops into. But yesterday, with very eye open, it
was good to see him. Also, I would caution everybody
that it was the Bengals.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
That's not a good defense. It's a defense that.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
We're going to be chasing all year long in fantasy.
So you know, let's reserve judgment. Let's see another game
or two against a maybe a more competitive defense and
sort of seeing how that goes. For sure, not done
yet that the little panic or Patients also some waiver
wire picks as we had into week three. Stay tuned
for more of the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. All right,
(36:49):
so last week we did overreaction theater about what we
saw in week one. Now it's week two and we've
seen a little bit more and there are still some
things that maybe don't sit quite.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
Right with us.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
So we're going to do a couple rounds of Panic
or Patients about player a player or players that have
underwhelmed in the first couple of weeks. So LaQuan, let's
start in Philadelphia with the Eagles wide receivers.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Through two weeks.
Speaker 1 (37:14):
Of the season, AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith have combined
for thirteen catches and one hundred and four yards.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
Mo League neighbors on his own has significantly more than that.
He make it worse for them.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
Even one del Robinson, I think yesterday had more than that,
right by himself. Right, what did Robinson have? Robinson had
one hundred and forty two yards on eight catches, which,
by the way, that's kind of a mirage.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
I wouldn't get too hyped over that, but using the
downfield crazy, Yeah, that's what it is.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
I feel like that's not gonna last. I just don't
think that's gonna last.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
But we'll see.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
But anyway, look on Eagles wide receivers, panic are patients
after two weeks.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
I'm still patient. I do believe they snap back. I
think against my rams, we're obviously gonna have a little
bit more of like a demand of stopping the run,
like Saquon will be the obvious opponent that we need
to just shut down where it opens some things up
for the wide receivers. I think that the Eagles they
have a week to week where they want to change
of like how they're gonna win the game. It's just
(38:17):
been Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barklay these last two weeks
of them sealing the deal. And then you sprinkle in
a Dallas Goddard. I think with Dallas got her being out,
I'm thinking going in like, Okay, it's Aj Brown season,
but apparently it's not. But it's comforting to see that
he has eight targets. The target by hum is starting
to increase. I do think as the season goes on
based on.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
Worse than one. By the way, I'm.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
Just saying, I'm just saying, like, right now, I'm on
the fence, like I'm not hitting that panic button just
yet on the wide receivers yet, because I know it's
gonna it's gonna get better.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
It has to.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
They can't keep banging the one to two show between
Hurts and Saquon. But if it's winning games, that may
be the deal.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
That's the thing that's the worry is that as long
as they're winning do it this way, that there's not
the urgency to throw the ball like It'll happen every
once in a while, partially because you'll get some squeaky
wheel games. Partially just because, yeah, there will be weeks
where the game script says that they have to throw
the ball. But I came into this year thinking that, Okay, well,
they can't throw it less than they did last year,
(39:17):
and maybe they don't, but they don't seem to be
in a rush to just put the ball in the
air a ton.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
The NFL might have to just ban the touch push
now because.
Speaker 3 (39:28):
Like last year and in past years, it was like,
all right, the Eagles are a normal offense until they
get near the goal line and then we.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
Touch push right cool with that, And it was a joke.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
I was like, all right, all their skill players aren't
going to get tackled at the one every time, right,
But now their entire game.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
Plan, it feels like, is built around the touch push.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
It's like LQ was saying, it's hurts and Saquon and
its short passes. Like he had eight targets yesterday, seven
of them were not even ten yards down the field.
So they're doing quick passes to aj Brown, a handoff
to Saquon, Toush push, touch push like that is boring.
It's a boring product. It's awful for fantasy, all of that.
(40:06):
But like, if you're gonna touch push, I'm in fade.
I was supporting the Toush push in the all season
when it was up for bad and stuff.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
But if it's gonna be used like this, get it
out of the game.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
The always excellent Pat Doherty roto Pat on social media tweeted, Uh, yesterday,
the worst thing you could do is give up nine
yards to the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
It's it's It felt to me yesterday like they were
playing to gain eight or nine yards on the first,
two down.
Speaker 4 (40:32):
Yes, that's what it feels like, because like every time
they're gonna whip out the old reliable then we just
got to deal with.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
It and it gets stop on third, all right, we'll
just do it on fourth.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
Oh yeah, I mean if it's if it's because like
I saw they did it from like the one and
a half, right, they lined up like this is kind
of a long touch push and the chief stopped them.
But it was like at the you know, two inch line,
I'm like, well, it's just gonna happen again, like you're
not gonna stop it.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
A sad like that. But if you're doing it like that,
like your own side of the field, it's like, what
why are we playing this way?
Speaker 3 (41:04):
You have great talent, you you don't have to live
or make this your entire identity, but they've decided to
do that.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
I'm just I'm trying to It's like it's like the
two thousand and five NBA Finals was the two thousand
and five with the Pistons and the Spurs were like
the final scores were like eighty three eighty one.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
Oh, the two thousand and four finals, That's what it was.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
Yeah, it was just that's I hope it doesn't go
that way, but as long as the Eagles are successful
doing it this way, they're.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
Gonna keep doing it this way. Chris Jones was like,
Jalen Hurts, you don't even have one hundred yards.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
Which is funny, but he was just like, we won
the bleeping game, so shut up. Which it's hard to
argue that one for sure. Yeah, Florio, I know you
are a big Isaiah pa Checko guy. I didn't think
the first two weeks blode well for him, Like I
just thought that the way they've been using him in
the schedule didn't work out well. It's been even worse
(41:57):
than I thought it would be. Hennicker patients with the
guy who's like the number two running option. I guess
for Kansas City now maybe number three if you throw
in Kareem Hunt.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
I I think that yesterday was a step forward for
him because he played sixty percent of the snaps to
forty percent for Kareem Hunt.
Speaker 2 (42:19):
He had more carries, he had double the amount of routes.
Speaker 3 (42:22):
I still don't think we could start him with much confidence,
but because Mahomes is running more.
Speaker 2 (42:28):
I also think it's worth pointing out that.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
The Chiefs have had a lead in this season for
like two minutes of the one hundred and twenty minutes
they have played.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
That is not going to be the norm.
Speaker 3 (42:42):
Like this week they get the Giants, a revenge back
to Big Jersey game for Isaiah paches Let's go.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
I just see this being a potential get right game
for him. I'm not saying he's a mo starter or
even a start, but I have him in deep leagues
where I can't get away.
Speaker 3 (42:58):
And even more than that, I think if you want,
it's okay to try to buy real low because his
value is probably not going to get lower than it
is now.
Speaker 2 (43:05):
If it does, he's gonna get thrown out on waivers.
Speaker 3 (43:07):
But I think when game script starts being more in
the Chiefs favor, he might get better results.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
I'm buying into that.
Speaker 4 (43:13):
By the way, he just need to get some good
cheese pizza from Jersey and his belly, get some bagels, man,
hit the Chinese spy, a hit of a good bagne
coffee spy, and get like a pork.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
Roll in cheese. Not Taylor Ham.
Speaker 4 (43:27):
But you know, I think Pacheco gets a good right
game back.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
No, he needs more than like dollar Chinese in like
the greasy cardboard box. He needs carries, like he needs
carries is what he needs because so like he had
ten carries on Sunday, right, I went back and looked
like his previous nine games, like including the postseason, previous
nine games, he'd had fewer than ten carries, and seven
of those he's just not getting the ball. Like early on,
(43:53):
it's like, okay, well he was coming back from injury,
but like then in the playoffs, he had been ramped
up for a few weeks, they still weren't giving him
the ball.
Speaker 2 (43:59):
Earlier this season and they still aren't giving him the ball.
Speaker 1 (44:02):
Kareem Hunt is getting more work than I think anybody anticipated.
And not that you're gonna run out and pick up
or start Kareem Hunt. But what little bit, what little
bit on that Pacheco has on his plate, uh Hunt
is you know, taking a chicken wing here or there,
Like it's just not great. So like, yeah, maybe going
back home and hitting up all the old spots will
be great. But also will be great is if they
(44:23):
actually turned around and handed in the ball more often.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
But we'll see, you don't know what.
Speaker 3 (44:27):
The night Game, too, has reached five fantasy points this
year got nice nice boy.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
That's like the lowest bar you could sit. Five five yeesh.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
All right, speaking of running backs that are kind of
on the struggle bus right now, LaQuan uh.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
Talk to me about R J. Harvey panic crepations. Here.
Speaker 4 (44:48):
I'm panicking, And here's why you cannot trust this man,
Sean Payton.
Speaker 2 (44:53):
I've learned my list. I know, I know this man
is diabolical. He is sick. What is raw with him?
Speaker 4 (45:00):
Like, seriously, I I'm done.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
I'm done. Like bro, I'm watching the game. I'm like
mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (45:07):
JK Dowers okay, j okay, all right, Dason, okay, okay,
he's running the round.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
Bo hit him in the stride. No, what are we doing.
We're not even designing things for him.
Speaker 4 (45:19):
We're putting him out there where guys are winded, and
we're gonna run it outside zi outside sign, outside zone.
Run and then it just completely gets obliterated, like nobody
was there to help him. And I'm like, okay, keep
running it, let him get the reps. And no, he
was on the sideline.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
I'm done.
Speaker 4 (45:37):
I'm not He's going to my bench. I'm not dropping him.
I'm not trading him. But I am telling folks to
buy low on him, though I low on him because
people are gonna be panicking. And I think Sean Payton,
once we're walking away, not talking about r J. Harvey,
He's gonna put up like one hundred and forty yards and.
Speaker 2 (45:54):
It's gonna be on our bench.
Speaker 1 (45:55):
But then when you put him back in the lineup,
he's gonna get you know, three carries again.
Speaker 4 (45:58):
So I know I'm okay strapping myself to that. I
just want r J. Harvey to have the season that
I expected him to have.
Speaker 2 (46:06):
You know, that's it. JK.
Speaker 3 (46:08):
Dobbins is not the face of health, right Like if
he missed his time, then it's all systems go.
Speaker 2 (46:13):
For r J. Harvey.
Speaker 4 (46:15):
I guess even then, I'm a little skeptical because it's like, Yo,
there's so many times an opportunity that r J.
Speaker 2 (46:21):
Harvey is obviously the better play here, Like there's a.
Speaker 1 (46:24):
Melgo bring him out of retirement, or we can't bring
back Melgo, I mean, like not the player, but the nickname.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
We can't.
Speaker 1 (46:31):
We can't let Adam Rank win on Melvin Gordon being Melgo.
We can't because Melgo sounds like a third rate convenience store,
Like that's what that is? Or stop by the melgo
and pick up some beef jerky like you need anything
like that's that's that's bad.
Speaker 2 (46:46):
You know what it is?
Speaker 1 (46:47):
You know the meme with like the anime meme with
the guy had putting a hand on the other guy's shoulder. Yes, yes,
and the other guy that's that's the guy with the
handout on the shoulder is Marvin Nims and the other
guy is is R. J.
Speaker 2 (47:00):
Harvey. It's Martin.
Speaker 3 (47:04):
Biggest lesson here is never draft the Broncos rookie unless
it's a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (47:08):
Apparently apparently h.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
Yeah, because Pat Bryant really has been nowhere to be seen.
Speaker 2 (47:15):
He gets down there. His first inf catch was amazing.
Speaker 4 (47:18):
He goes out there and runs around, breaks the guy off,
gets open and catches the ball and it's like, okay,
let's keep doing this, Like no, it's gonna be Marvin
Mames and Troy Franklin Like it's annoying, so annoying.
Speaker 1 (47:29):
I mean, are you guys jump over onto the the
Troy Franklin bandwagon with me, Like there's room.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
First, I'll save you.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
See, you're welcome, You're welcome a big pick up this week,
for sure, big pick up for sure this week.
Speaker 2 (47:44):
Uh flour.
Speaker 1 (47:46):
Mark Andrews man like this is, this is alarm bells,
this is this is like you know, red lights, sirens,
the whole nine with Mark Andrews right now.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
And I'm petrified. I I he's almost drop a ball.
Speaker 3 (48:00):
I think I don't think he's there yet, but like
I have him as a sit and start sit this week.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
He has Here's the crazy part. The Ravens has scored
forty points in both of their games this season. Lamar
Jackson has seven total touchdowns. That is the same number
of yards as Mark Andrews has this season.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
Like he has seven receiving yards and I know he's
got like two rushing or whatever. Okay, maybe he has
more if you count those, but like he's so. Zay
Flowers looks like he's breaking out and one Zay Flowers
is Both teams play man a high rate against the
Ravens because of Derek Henry and Lamar's rushing abilities, and
Zay is going to pick them apart.
Speaker 2 (48:39):
There.
Speaker 3 (48:40):
Rashad Bateman has looks like he's taking another step forward.
DeAndre Hopkins has a little bit left in the tank
and then Isaiah likely is still going to come back
at some point, Like I know there will be random
weeks where Mark Andrews catches a touchdown or something, but
last season no one had more of their fantasy points
come off of touchdowns. You add the hop now as
(49:01):
a red zone option, you add all these other guys
that they already have, and we know we're gonna go
to like if he if Mark Andrews has like five
touchdowns this year, he's.
Speaker 2 (49:09):
Going to be awful for fantasy.
Speaker 3 (49:10):
He needs like eight, nine, ten touchdowns to be a
tight end one, I think, and I think we're quickly
going to get to the point where he might not
be usable for fantasy.
Speaker 1 (49:19):
And it's not like it's not like you can be like,
hey man, he hasn't put up in any yards, but
they're targeting him a lot. They're looking at his direction
a lot. He has four targets, Like that's it, four
targets all year long. He's turned it into two catches
for seven yards. They're not looking his direction. And to
your point, when Isaiah likely comes back, I think he starts.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
To get those opportunities. It just it looks bleak for marketing.
Drop him.
Speaker 1 (49:46):
Yeah, I think he think that's I think we're there.
I think we're there right now. And I thought I
thought a bounce back was coming. But I don't know, man,
it just doesn't didn't seem like.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
If you is there plenty of other tight ends though.
Speaker 4 (50:00):
Look Juwan Johnson still under fifty percent of roster ship,
Jatavian Sanders, Harold fan and John your Smith. These are
other guys I'd rather strap myself to that I know
that are going to be running routes that are going
to be earning those targets and be able to have Johnston.
Because think about it, if you wait until week five
six to be like all right, Andrews, just cook, no
tight ends are gonna be on the waiver wire for
(50:21):
you to even.
Speaker 3 (50:23):
If like Johnson or Fanning are out there, I'm grabbing them.
Jatavian Sanders feels like a trap.
Speaker 1 (50:27):
Yeah, Sanders, I'm not quite buying. But Jake Ferguson is
still out there yesterday, get picked up. Even even Hunter Henry.
I would take a chance on yeah, over.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
My grab Isaiah likely just in case.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
Yeah, yeah, he's out there. A ton of leagues absolutely
get it. Get a piece of that if you can. Uh,
speaking of which, it's a perfect segue into the waiver
wire guys that you might be looking at depending on
what your needs are heading into Week three, Floriana, you
put together this list.
Speaker 2 (50:56):
Take us through it if you don't mind.
Speaker 3 (50:58):
QB to mister not just one, Daniel and Mac mac
play good man. He's the first forty nine ERD backup
too to win, uh since Brock Curdy became the starter.
Jake Browning, I know that's more like super flex, but
if you're in that league like that, he is in
play at running back BASEIAL two in Blake Corum Lakwan's Boy,
(51:20):
and Jeremy McNichols, I think, no, no.
Speaker 2 (51:21):
No, no, no, no, you don't get the club.
Speaker 1 (51:23):
You don't have to claim Blake Corum because you were
mister Jarquest Hunter all off season RB three.
Speaker 2 (51:29):
You can't. You can't just turn right his rookie year.
It was mister Blake kr.
Speaker 4 (51:35):
Of course I like jars Hunter as well, both of them,
my guys, they're friends of the show.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
Do do meat like that? Okay, please continue.
Speaker 3 (51:45):
Jeremy McNichols, who got all the pass work after I
think he's gonna be the Auston Eckler for the Commanders
wide receiver. It's a big week there though, Wanda Robinson
and Troy Franklin I think are the top two ads
of the week.
Speaker 2 (51:57):
You could put him in whichever order you want. L
I am. We talked about already.
Speaker 3 (52:01):
Isaac Tesla doesn't do a whole lot, but what he
does it's a top end play.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Every sor score score school.
Speaker 3 (52:06):
We need to we need a drop of that. I
then then Hunter Renfro and Kayshawn Booty, and then at
tight end. It is a big week if these guys
are available in your leagues, like Jake Ferguson, Harold Fan
and Junior Juwan Johnson.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
Should all be picked up.
Speaker 3 (52:18):
And then i'd add Isaiah Likely, who I just thought
of while we were talking, and Jake Tongus Like, I
don't know if he's a thing, Marcus, but in deep leagues,
I'd be willing to roll the I started him.
Speaker 1 (52:29):
Yeah, I started and got my seven point deep leagues.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 1 (52:33):
I don't know if it's gonna be consistent enough because
Huns got five targets, but it was Luke Ferrell that
scored the touchdown.
Speaker 4 (52:41):
Then I mean I don't.
Speaker 1 (52:45):
I mean, I just I think they're just trying to
fill in those snaps wherever they can, right, because when
Kittle is healthy, he can do both. He can catch passes,
he can also be like a sixth offensive lineman and
block when you need him to.
Speaker 2 (52:56):
They're gonna try and fill that however they can. So
it looks like just.
Speaker 1 (53:00):
As the guy who's running the more routes of the
two of them, But every now and then it seems
like they're gonna roll Feral out and try to get
him some targets too. So like it's because it's deeply
just understand it's gonna be inconsistent.
Speaker 2 (53:13):
This is off topic.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
I just pulled up each of your team's schedule to
see if you guys could be four.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
And o going against each other and not till possible. Uh.
Week four is the Rams against Daniel Jones. We are
calling that the Lqball, that's the LQ Bowl.
Speaker 1 (53:27):
What are you gonna What are you gonna do if
Daniel Jones like shreds the Rams defense like.
Speaker 2 (53:31):
How he is. We can't stop mobile quarterbacks. Like, I'm not.
Speaker 4 (53:35):
Gonna say here, lie, he's gonna have a great game
against my Rams. He is one of the mobile quarterbacks
that we talk about and we cannot stop him. So
I'm gonna be all for the Joneses that day, man
for fantasy wise, but we're gonna.
Speaker 2 (53:48):
Cardinals and Jags. They might be four and o going
up against the Rams. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
I mean my thing with the forty nine ers is
if they were going to have bad injury luck, which.
Speaker 2 (53:56):
Is just the thing they do the Jones bring go.
Speaker 1 (54:03):
If they're gonna have bad injury luck, they should do
it at the start of the season because the the
opening to the schedule is a little bit softer, you know.
So if they can survive this, uh, you know, I
like their chances once they get everybody back healthy again.
You know, I think this is a I still think
this is a two team race in the NFC West.
Speaker 4 (54:23):
What if Mac Jones plays better than Trevor mid Lawrence.
Speaker 2 (54:27):
Oh, I mean, that's definitely on the tape. Show you
how to do this, Son.
Speaker 1 (54:30):
That's definitely on the what if What if Brian Thomas
Junior is trying to defect to the other side by
you know, the third quarter, He's like, wait.
Speaker 4 (54:37):
Take you back, Mac, Listen, He's shining away from contact
because that boy Trevor mid Lawrence on Hospital Ball.
Speaker 2 (54:43):
So there you go.
Speaker 1 (54:47):
Yeah, well yeah, we also do it almost a whole
show on the Jaguars at some point. I don't want to,
but it's a thing that we could do if we
decided we've gone, uh, we're not going to do that anyway.
Speaker 3 (54:57):
How many times would Trevor mid Lawrence be said in
that all right, like if if please please do not
do a drinking game to the quante at the point
where when I say his name, the mid almost comes
out like.
Speaker 1 (55:11):
He's he's gonna red pill you on this thing, right,
Like you're like, I'm gonna be on like insiders that
be like Trevor mid Lawrence and they're gonna be like, what.
Speaker 2 (55:19):
Yeah, yes, yes, I am flooding in the streets. It's
a great nickname.
Speaker 1 (55:25):
It's very fitting, sort of like how like how I
once convinced somebody to refer to a former Steelers wide
receiver san Antonio Holmes.
Speaker 2 (55:31):
But you know that's a whole different thing.
Speaker 1 (55:33):
So on that terrible dad joke, we're gonna wrap this up.
That'll do it for this edition of the NFL Fantasy.
Speaker 2 (55:42):
Oh we have too many night games and I say happy,
save Helis, Do good and live well with more than
double had. Everybody and you will talk to
