Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hi, Hello everyone, Welcome to NFL Fantasy Live on a Friday.
I'm Marcus Grant. Dad is Adam Rank. That with the
quafft hair in the seven to one eight T shirt
is Michael F. Florio. We two already underweight. We got
a game under our belt. Adam Rink, where were you
when the Packers officially became champions? You know what I was?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Excuse me, I was at a soccer training. We had
a scrimmage last night. I was more concerned about the
Red Lightnings performance against the sur City Strikers.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
We played very well.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
You know.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
That was a good side that we're going on.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
But obviously a lot of those kids were my team
from team to Peerless went out there and looked good.
Hudson looked great, and my daughter, you know, and lot
of my daughter Beverly, my daughter.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
My pseudo daughter Lana played great too.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
So there was a lot of good stuff.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
All the way around on that there.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
All right, So there we got that. How about you, Florio?
Any Tucker Craft, Jordan Love, buzz saws you want to
report about?
Speaker 4 (01:07):
Not as many as you would think.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
I did run into Jordan Love and Jayden Daniels in
a super flex that was mixed results, but even worse
than running into Tucker Craft.
Speaker 6 (01:16):
I said to beware of Tucker Craft this week.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
So my bad everyone.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
I'm sure people are going to be rational about that
too when you read it. Totally so absolutely, but a
whole lot did go down at lambeau Field. Take a
look at some of what went on. Where ship to
go from lamb me on a Green Bay persions the.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Question myself.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
So it gets just to a little bit of what
we learned, rank, What did you take away from last night?
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Well, when I went back and watched the game, there's
gotta be some growing concerns about the way that Jade
Daniels has played so far to open up this season.
And obviously the fantasy production is there, and that's anybody
who's watching this show is probably what they care about
the most. But a disturbing trend, and this isn't just
necessarily about what happened on Thursday night. If you really
put a critical eye to what he did against the
(02:17):
Giants in week one, he's been missing the mark, he's
been missing players, he's been missing receivers. Now, some of
it could be attributed to the fact that Terry McLaurin
did not participate in training camp and all that stuff.
But it should be a growing concern, And I know everybody.
Commander fans are not upset. They're like, listen, he won
a playoff game last year. You know who else put
(02:37):
up a lot of huge fantasy totals and also won
a playoff game Tim Tebow. So I'm just saying, like,
I'm just saying that that's the thing.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Like, if you.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Will watch this with a critical eye, there might be
some growing concerns. But thankfully nobody puts Jane Daniels under
the microscope like they do Caleb Williams, so you should
be fun.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
Yeah, I'm not as concerned about a guy coming.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Up of historic rookie year.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
I think it's just that the Packers defense is a
black hole. They shut down the Lions and the Commanders
in back to back weeks.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
And what I saw last night was exactly what I
saw when.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
I watched back the Lions game earlier this week. A
ton of quick pressure, not a lot of success downfield,
not able.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
To establish the run up the middle.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
The thing with the Packers their DBAs stick on their receivers.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
The pass rush closes in.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
Extremely fast, So I'm not panicking on the Commanders, and
I feel much less concerned about the Lions. I am
more in on Jared Goff now than I was twenty
four hours ago.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Well, let's stick with the Commanders, and I feel like
now after two games, we should probably pump the brakes
a little bit on the Jacory krossky Merritt hype Rang.
I know you were mentionally somebody asked if they should
trade Tyler Warren to go get JCM. I saw elsewhere
on social media people talking about starting him over Treveon Henderson.
(03:50):
Let's calm down on this right now. People. In two
weeks just has not had a ton of usage in
the offense. I had nineteen snaps in week one, fifteen
snaps last night. Just two targets so far in the
first two games. This season is very gamescript dependent. No
usage in the passing game. I know the excitement was
because Chris Rodriguez was a healthy scratch. I think now
(04:11):
with Austin Eckler with the achilles injury, which is season
ending and sadly mighty career ending, I think we'll see
Chris Rodriguez, We'll see Jeremy McNichols. Let's just calm down
on the right.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
I think a lot of it though, because he's a
rookie playing on a Thursday night game right after a
huge week one that might have been some of the
reason why he was game scripted out of him. But
now that he's gonna have that little mini buy, I
think he could come back in a big way.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Check your waiver wire too, because people in my panic
and rage drop him.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
That I'm gonna tell you to rage drop him. I'm
just telling you let's not rush him into starting lineups
just yet. Let's hold on a little bit. But Florida,
if you do need running back help, for instance, is
there somebody in that Commander's backfield you're pointing toward or
you're looking elsewhere altogether?
Speaker 5 (04:52):
Well, first, I have an Austin Eckler bobblehead there, man
the air guitar. Shout out to Austin Eckler for everything
he has given us over the years and everything he
has done for the fantasy football community. I think Bill
will be the top option for the Commanders, but I'm
not sure his role changes all that much because Jeremy
McNichols is the back that was getting all the passing
(05:12):
down work after the Austin Eckler injuries. So maybe he
gets a couple of carries that Eckler was seeing. But
I think McNichols could be utilized a lot in the
passing game. Bill to me is more of a flex
option if you wanted to go outside of it. Some
Bilow candidates right now might be like a James Connor, RJ. Harvey,
or if you believe in like Kenneth Walker, Isaiah Pacheco.
(05:33):
Those are other options you could go and try to
acquire for cheap right now.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Hey, one day maybe this bill becomes a law. But
for now, he's just sitting here a Capitol hill, waiting
for a spot in your lineup. Looking ahead to the
rest of the weekend, big matchup coming up this week.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Pers his bet.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Hurks has plenty of time.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
He's looking, He's fucked.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
He could play.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
Pers back. Look he is going deep.
Speaker 7 (06:01):
Tough town, tough put tons, tough forty cut show the
slam RecA.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
It's over. The Philadelphia Eagles have won Super Bowl fifty one.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
They have by Lakansas hit a kIPS forty to twenty two.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
It's their second Super Bowl play in seven years.
Speaker 5 (06:19):
What a game one season won a team the greatest
Eagles team in modern history.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Eagles fans satrich and w to the Gang wins a
super Bowl, Big day for Philadelphia Eagles and their fans.
Tai look at the top fantasy scorers from bad games.
Dam You're worthy had the long touchdown catch. That was
the reason we got really excited about him this offseason
in fantasy. But it was pretty much all Eagles, Jalen Hurts,
(06:48):
Jake Elliott, Devoncea Smith, Saquon Barkley, all with big days.
Patrick Mahomes putting up a decent number, but a lot
of that coming once the game really had been decided
at that point. But these two teams will face off
again coming up here in week two. So we designed
to take a look at the starts, the sis, and
the sleepers from this one. So on the start side
of things, rank, who are you looking at?
Speaker 2 (07:08):
I'm still looking at Patrick Mahomes. I know when you
look at the totals there on the board. Previously it
looked like he had a good game. If you watch
the Super Bowl, you're like that was.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Anything but impressive.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
And he came on at the end after falling behind
twenty four to nothing.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
In that first half.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
The thing of a day is when you look at
his history against the Philadelphia Eagles, He's done pretty well
against them. And one of the things too, is that
not turning the ball over, not throwing the interceptions at
seven straight games right now he's been outside of the
Super Bowl again, He's done a really nice job of
protecting the football, making the most out of all of
his wide receivers. I thought, going back to the time
(07:44):
when they let Kyree Hill go, that it was going
to be very difficult for him, but he's made the
most of it obviously. Like it's interesting because people always
try to put so much doom and gloom on him
for losing an attempt to win preconsecutive Super Bowl pretty
heady accomplishment for me. I'm so comfortable going to Patrick Mahomes.
I picked him in in a number of spots this
year because I thought we would have a bounce.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Back, and I think that continues here in Week two.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
Yeah, ring culture has made it where making a Super
Bowl and losing is somehow worse than not making it
at all. I think aj Brown is a strong start
in this one. Look, I know Week one stunk just
one target, and I get the concerns that maybe the
hamstring injury is lingering. What conveniently gets left out in
that discussion is that DeVonta Smith only had three targets
in that game as well. But with the whole world
(08:29):
talking about the lack of usage for AJ Brown, I
think a squeaky wheel game could be on tap against
the Chiefs team that was just torched by three different Chargers.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
Wide receivers last week.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
And the real reason I wanted to talk about AJ
Brown is you have about two more days to try
to buy low. I think it's worth going out there
and trying to acquire the Eagle star.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Well, you're big on swoll Batman. I'm equally big on
Skinny Batman. I think start Devon says Smith is definitely
a thing you should worry about and not worry about
you should do this week. I guess you should worry
about it if he's on the other side, because I
think he's going to have a big game. Rig you
talked about Mahomes versus the Eagles. In his career, DeVonta
Smith against the Chiefs has eaten very well. He's played
(09:07):
them four times two in the regular season, obviously the
other two in the Super Bowl, and has had ninety
nine or more receiving yards in three of those four games,
twenty four catches overall three hundred and ninety yards. And
just like I think the Eagles want to get aj
Brown involved, I think they want to get DeVonta Smith
involved as well. So I see a big game coming
for Skinny Batman. Now over to the since the guys
(09:29):
and we are avoiding Florio, who are you down on
this week?
Speaker 5 (09:33):
Admittedly I got to the homework last and my sits
were taken, So let's go with the Chiefs defense here. Look,
I know this like defense isn't a huge call, but
they were bottom five in yards per game and offensive
tds allowed.
Speaker 6 (09:46):
In Week one, and we just showed that graphic.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
You saw what this Eagles offense did to this Chiefs
defense in the Super.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Bowl last year.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
I just do not play I don't care how good
the defense is, I do not play them against this
Eagles team that could beat you in a number of
different ways. So I would be throwing the Chiefs back
out there and looking to stream someone like the Cowboys
defense or the forty nine ers or the Cardinals something
like that over the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
I'm gonna go with a beware for Travis Kelcey. It's
been very difficult for him over the last number of
games that you see right there for receiving touchdowns. In
his last twenty three last week he had just ten
percent of the target share, and that is concerning to me.
It has just not been there for him. And on
top of everything that was rude.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
We didn't need to see that. He made a mistake.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
He owned up to it.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
But I will say this, the Eagles are very good
against opposing tight ends, so it might be in your
best interest. If you're playing DFS, you cannot do it
at all. I don't know who you would pick up.
I don't know if you're gonna stream Hunter Strange or
what you're gonna do, but you might want to look
at some other options if you have good available.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
You're showing it again.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
Come on, stop showing that it was mean.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
It's mean for Xavier. Yeah, that's that hurts well. We
maybe being aware of Travis Kelcey. I think you can
get away from Isaiah Piceko. It's not just the lack
of production. I think more worrisome for me is the
lack of usage. If you look at his last nine games,
including the postseason, he's had fewer than tim carries in
(11:22):
seven of those games. We're also talking about a guy
who's never been a big part of the Kansas City
passing game because you can't count on a lot of
those cheap, you know, targets in Pprlei's you're not going
to get the ten chtches for thirty one yards like
you got from Jamior Gibbs last week. So this is
a situation where I would stay away, especially against his
Eagles run defense. Methinks Jalen Carter will actually play some
(11:42):
snaps this week, So I would I would.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Say, I mean, I know it's not very suspended.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
No he's not.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
So they counted last week as.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
You were kicked out of the game, he was fined.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Not suspended. You know, stranger things can have happened. But
I think he's gonna play some snaps. Let's get to
the sleepers though in this one, and I'm dipping back
into the way back machine and I'll give you John Smith,
John Smith Schuster, you know him as Juju, and we
saw him get some targets last week, especially after the
Xavier Worthy injury ended up playing about eighty percent of
(12:17):
the snaps in Week one. Marchi's Brown, I think looks
like the number one target in this offense. But with
Travis Kelce maybe on the decline, maybe just getting locked
up by the Eagles defense, Juju could end up being
the number two target. Look, he's not a big downfield guy,
just five point three air yards per attempt the last
two seasons. But without those guys to stretch the field,
(12:39):
this could be another short passing game for Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
And I'm gonna take Hollywood Brown here because last week,
when he was inserted into a more prominent role following
the injury of Xavier Worthy, want to show that again.
Please don't please don't sixteen targets in week one, and
you know what, if they get into another situation where
they found themselves in February or they need to throw
(13:02):
them all, I think that Patrick Mahomes is going to
have to throw a lot in this game, and you
can't ignore the targets from last week. So Hollywood Brown
is actually a really sneaky start for a lot of people,
especially if you've had some injury concerns over the last
couple of weeks and or last week or two and
need to get a wide receiver into your lineup.
Speaker 5 (13:21):
Yeah, I love me some Hollywood Brown have him on
a bunch of teams.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
I don't have Dallas Goddard on a ton of teams.
Admittedly I was fading him this.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
Offseason, but he is a sleeper in this one. If
he suits up, he led the Eagles and targets and
catches last week. He had the third highest target share
amongst tight ends in Week one.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
And if he.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
Doesn't play, Grant kal Katara come on down because a
trend that we had going back to last season is
that the Chiefs really struggled against tight ends and we
were streaming them against them. So if you're in need
at the thinnest position in fantasy, the Eagles tight end,
whichever one suits up is one that you potentially stream
in Week two.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
We call Grant Calcata the couch because we should. It
just feels natural on the calculator. By the way, if
you want some more sleepers, you can check out my
sleeper's column. You can find it every week on NFL
dot com slash Sleepers to go. Check that out.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Alan fires down.
Speaker 7 (14:17):
The left side he's got pulling on the forty and
out of bounds at the forty thirty five in Baltimore territory.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
Wow, want to.
Speaker 7 (14:25):
Play Joshua a frozen rope thirty two yards? It's a
snap back to pass blitz coming Alan complete to Covid
cuts it back of the twenty tripped up at.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
The ten yard line.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Oh, we thought he.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
Was headed to the end zone. Down to three seconds.
Here's the snap, hold this down, kick on the way.
Speaker 7 (14:46):
And it is good and Matt Crater, in his first
game as a Buffalo Bill, has won the ball game
here in week one.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
I know the instinct there's to try to make the play.
But you know, if they let.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Lean right, probably yeah, the Ravens probably would have won
that They have a chan Mark Andrews would have dropped
the pass and it would have been bad.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
It would have been a whole things.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
I was screaming, go down the whole time.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Anyway, that was the wild finish last week between the
Ravens and the Bills. This week, the Bills take on
an AFC East rival when they meet up with the
New York Jetson when you're looking at this one, Florio,
who are you keeping an eye on.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:26):
I mean everyone is gonna imagine that I'm going to
talk a bill here giving all the bill stuff behind me.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
Must start justin fields. I know people were telling you
the sick fields last week.
Speaker 5 (15:36):
I wasn't one of them, and he gave you nearly
thirty fantasy points. And the only quarterback who scored more
fantasy points than him is the one on the other
side of this matchup. Two goal line touchdowns, twelve rushing attempts.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
When I don't think is getting enough talking point at all.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
Is he looked fantastic as a passer, was highly efficient downfield.
We just saw the Bills get ran all over last week.
They struggled with a mobile quarterback. I think justin fields
has to be started in this one. And that's coming
from a Bills fan.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Who told you to sit justin Fields. That's the craziest
talk I've ever heard of my life. I would never
have sat that guy, and similarly, I would not be
sitting breeshall Oh. I got bullied during the offseason when
I was advocating Breza.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
I see the mentions.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Listen. I'm letna get stew for another week before I
go back and address those. But you look at the
matchup this week against the Bills. Now, it is difficult
to be like, hey, look, Derreck Henry Rant a guy,
I get it, like Derek, It's not a fair comparison.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
It's not a big enough sample size.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
However, the Bills have allowed forty plus points, forty plus
total four hundred plus total yards in three of their
last six games. This defense has not getting gotten better
over the offseason. So when you look at this matchup again,
I think that Breesall is going to be a really
safe option. Make sure he is in your lineup.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Yeah, you got me by the end of drafts season
coming around to Breese Hall. Dang, I'm okay, good. I
appreciate that for sure.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
You see like they're showing Tanner Angstrom on the broadcast,
I'm like, oh, who is talking about him?
Speaker 1 (17:04):
ALOSTI this guy? That guy. We're talking about New Jersey's
other team, the New York Giants, as they take on
the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East showdown. And I'm
telling you, if you're looking for a sleeper defense for
somebody to stream, maybe check out the guys with the
stars on the sides of their helmets. Mostly because of
the team they're going against. This Giants offense put up
two hundred and thirty one total yards last week against
(17:27):
the same Washington defense that really got lit up by
the Packers on Thursday Night Football. We're already in Week
two and Brian Dabole is having to give a vote
of confidence to Russell Wilson. That seems bad. I don't
expect a lot of points either way in this one
because the Giants defense is also pretty good, so this
could be a low scoring affair that tends to favor
(17:47):
fantasy defenses. If they can get some pressure on Russell
Wilson for some turnovers, to get some sacks, I think
it could be a good day for the Cowboys. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:55):
I hope the Cowboys are the only Dallas area team
beating up on a New York team this weekend. Although
I am very excited to see Jacob deGrom in City
Field tonight, I'm saying start Dak Prescott in this one.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
Look.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
He's averaged twenty two fantasy points per game in his
career against the New York Giants. He has five games
with over three hundred passing yards and three touchdowns.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
And I know you're like, oh.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Well, that goes back years well.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
In his last two matchups against the Giants, seven touchdowns,
one giveaway, And what really surprised me the Giants generated
pressure at the third.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
Lowest rate in Week one.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
Maybe that was match of dependent, But if you're giving
Dak Prescott time like that, I think he's going to
pick apart most teams.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Now we move on to the first edition of the
Ben Johnson Bowl with the Bears and the Lions, both
teams coming off some frustrating losses in Week one, But rank,
what are you paying attention to?
Speaker 3 (18:42):
I think for the Lions, we sort of expected that.
For the Bears, it was frustrating.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
And one of the things that was the most frustrating
was the usage of the running back. And it was
something that Ben Johnson went out and addressed this week
when he was like, oh, yeah, I don't think that
we ran the ball if only yeah, you know what,
you know who's responsible for calling the plays? Ben, But
he didn't address it, and we saw it last week.
DeAndre Swift dominated the backfield snapshare.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
Almost ninety percent.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Of the snaps went to him. We saw Kyle Manungai
got about nine snaps. I believe it was caught a
pass and that was about it. It's been all DeAndre Swift,
and I really do believe that this week they're going
to unlock him. There is a reason why the Bears
did not go out there and acquire other running backs.
It's because they believe in DeAndre Swift. And just by
watching it, if you watch the game critically, DeAndre Swift
(19:31):
played really well. Like I was really encouraged by what
he was doing out there.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
I think.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Jonah at Double Jay, the new guard, can do a
little bit of a better job. Drew Dralman also kind
of stalled a little bit. But if they get that together,
because I'll give the Vikings credit here, DeAndre Swifts gonna
have a monster game.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (19:52):
I have a lot of DeAndre Swift. I would love
him to have a monster game. I also have a
good amount of Rome with Dnesday and I left Week
one feeling really good good about Rome. He loved the
Bears and routes, targets, catches, and touchdowns. He's clearly going
to have a large role in this offense and in
the preseason last season Week one, he is the clear
go to option in the end zone.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
Four Caleb Williams.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
He had success against the Lions last year, and I
do think the Lions offense will look more like the
Lions offense in Week two, and if that is the case,
we could see Caleb have to throw a little bit
more in Week two.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Romodonza a good receiver, also a very good artist. This
is his rendering of a bear here right here.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
So why are you wearing that because it's a cool
T shirt? You're not a Bears fan? Do I have
to be kind of?
Speaker 1 (20:36):
Well? Too bad?
Speaker 2 (20:38):
We got the Seahawks and he went to Washington.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
You're not even the wrong pack.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Twelve scho just a cool shirt. I'm so dare you? Anyway?
The DK Metcalf revenge game as the Seahawks and Steelers
meet up, I'm not talking about DK Metcalf. I'm talking
about Aaron Rodgers and how he probably belongs on your
bench this week. The four touchdown passes was really nice.
It's also not sustainable. What I'm mostly worried about is
(21:04):
how much Rogers had to rely on yards after the
catch from his guys. Put together, his yardage total, seventy
five percent of his passing yards came after the catch. Now, look,
maybe Arthur Smith has something up his sleeve, and we
need to get more John news Smith or Calvin Austin
or what have you. I'm not confident enough in this
repeating itself for me to start him a second straight. Look,
(21:25):
I don't thieve anybody really started in last week. I
don't think this is the week you chase points and
put him in your lineup. You know again, he's also
fueled by SPIKEE and I don't know that Spiite is
going to necessarily win the day for him. What if
he hates mud Honey, I'm a coffee bean guy. Forget Starbucks.
Speaker 6 (21:41):
You know whatever, Right, Marcus, watchout.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
Steelers fans are going to be in your mentions like
they have been in mind for doubting Aaron Rodgers. But
I'm also doubting Kenneth Walker of Bate. I don't think
he's a must sit, but only forty percent of the
snaps last week and thirteen touches. It was his worst
fantasy game ever with double digit fantasy points. Sharbone had
more snaps, carries and.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
Got the goal on work.
Speaker 5 (22:03):
That usage makes Kenneth Walker a big play reliant option.
Speaker 6 (22:08):
Again, not a must sit.
Speaker 5 (22:09):
But if you have another running back that you feel
good about and we're considering.
Speaker 6 (22:12):
Getting in your lineup. I would do so until we
see more usage.
Speaker 4 (22:16):
Go Kenneth Walker's Way and.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
I chilled glass of Sharbona might look good in the
fantasy lineup this week for sure. By the way, with

(23:41):
NFL Network insider Ian Rappaport reporting that brock Perty is
expected to just two to five weeks with a variant
of turf toe in his absence. Mac Jones will be
his first regular season start as a forty nine Ers
So rank, how do we feel about this Niners offense
with Michael mccorkoll at the helm I'm in.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
I've actually hired up Mac Jones in a lineup for two.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
I think this is a pretty good fit for them.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
I think that what we've.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Seen out of Kyle Shanahan over the last number of
years is that he's pretty much able to make it
work with just about any quarterback, and this is a
quarterback that he really liked a coming into the draft
season years ago, it was reported that he was all
in on Mac Jones. They went with Trey Lance instead.
I think they got away with because brock perty is
so good. But I feel very comfortable with mac Jones.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Here, Floria feeling the same way.
Speaker 5 (24:30):
Yeah, I like Mac Jones, and I would be plugging
in Ricky pearsall this week as well. He turned seven
targets into one hundred and seven yards last week, kittles out.
I think he's going to be the top target. In fact,
he was one of three wide receivers in Week one
with over one hundred are yards and multiple end zone targets.
And we saw mac Jones elevate Brian Thomas Junior to
new fantasy heights and kind of make him what he
(24:52):
was down the stretch last year.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
So I'm not panicking about Ricky pearsall at all.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
All right, so, feeling good about the options in San Francisco,
at least for the time. I'm being back to our
game previews. We got the Jaguars and the Bengals. Both
those teams won, and oh and who do you like
in this one rank? I'll talk about Brian Thomas Junior
right here. Obviously, the numbers from last year.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
He averaged close to twenty fantasy points per game with
Mac Jones as a starter, compared to fifteen with Trevor Lawrence.
But this week against the Cincinnati Bengals, I feel very comfortable,
like if you are not going to turn it around
against the Cincinnati Bengals, it might not ever happen.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
The Bengals have allowed.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Thirty one passing touchdowns since twenty twenty four. That's the
fourth most in the NFL. They've allowed the eighth most
passing yards per game. Over that time, they allowed sixteen
fantasy points to said Tillman. So honestly, Brian Thomas Junior
needs to start. Travis Hunter needs to start, Travis etn
needs to start. Pretty much anybody who plays offense for
either one of these teams are very good candidates to
(25:47):
start for you this week.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Yeah, we want to go against the Bengals. Defense is
absolutely what we want. I Meanwhile, we got the Browns
and the Ravens. Joe Flacco making his return to Baltimore.
But is that the guy you have your eye on
in this one though?
Speaker 4 (25:59):
Florio in the Flaco Ball.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
No it is not.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
Because last night check to score fantasy once you need
the ball to be thrown your way.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
That didn't happen.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
Much for Mark Andrews in Week one.
Speaker 5 (26:09):
He had just one target, So I think you could
be aware of the Ravens big tight end here. Look,
we know Baltimore is obviously going to run the ball
a bunch.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
They did so the third heaviest rate in Week one.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
But what stands out to me is the Browns play
man coverage at an above average league rate, which I
think means it's going to be another big Z day.
And then DeAndre Hopkins you saw, is going to be
utilizing in the red.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
Zone a bit.
Speaker 6 (26:34):
Touchdowns are what made Mark Andrews.
Speaker 5 (26:36):
In fact, no one was more reliant on them last
season at the tight end position. So if the ball's
not going his way as much, I think you gotta
beware of Lamar Jackson's former go to guys.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Yeah. I really thought that with no Isaiah likely early
on would see Mark Andrews working in but through one
week at least, that did not seem to be the case. Meanwhile,
we got the Falcons and the Vikings and some news
regarding Atlanta's offense is from Ian Rappaford News for the
Falcons wide receivers Drake London and Darnell Mooney have no
injury designations for Sunday night against the Vikings. Both will play,
(27:08):
so definitely good news for the quarterback Michael Pennox. Nonetheless,
I think you should be wary of throwing him in
a lineup. It was a nice start to his season
last week against the Buccaneers. They're a little bit more
of a forgiving defense than what he's going to face
this week against Brian Flores and that Minnesota defense. Now
we saw Caleb Williams actually run the ball effectively, and
(27:29):
Penix actually ran I think a lot better than a
lot of us anticipated. I still worry about his general
escapability overall. I think he's going to be under pressure
a lot. I still think you can start Drake London,
You're obviously starting Bajan Robinson. Everybody else still in that
Falcons offense I would try to get away from if
you absolutely could. Just don't like them this week against
(27:50):
the Vikings defense. Meanwhile, it is time now for season
This season presented by Caesars Sportsbook, here are the top
six most likely players to score the first touchdown in
the Falcons Vikings matchup, that is according to Caesar's Sports
Book to Sleep John Robinson, No surprise, they're up top
fallow by Jordan Mason, Justin Jefferson, Aaron Jones Senior, Drake
(28:12):
London who we now know is playing, and that TJ.
Hawkinson Florio. Of those guys or maybe somebody off menu,
who do you think is most likely to find the
end zone first?
Speaker 5 (28:21):
On the pod this week, we were surprised that Jordan
Mason was ahead of Justin Jefferson, but give me Jordan Mason.
Look three red zone touches in week one, Aaron Jones
did not have any, and then or carries at least,
and then he played more snaps and nearly double as
many carries as Aaron Jones and the Vikings. They started
to look like themselves on offense in the second half.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
So I think they'll be able to get into score
and range.
Speaker 5 (28:44):
And when that's the case, it seems like Jordan Mason
is their guy.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
Second and twenty for the Colts first play of the
second quarter, Daniel Jones.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
Plays the right side.
Speaker 5 (28:55):
Town Jor twenty seven yard beautifully placed past by Daniel
Jones to.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
Mike Hilt Pittman.
Speaker 7 (29:06):
Junior touchdown eighty What for the Colts.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Well, last week was a pretty good game for Michael
Pittman Junior. In Week one. This week, though, a little
bit of a tougher matchup. The Colts take on the
Broncos and likely Pittman locked up on Patrick's or ten.
How are we feeling about that?
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Not great? Not great at all. I'm gonna be sitting
him this week. I'm not gonna be chasing the fantasy
points looking at what he did against the Miami Dolphins
team when he is going up against what could be
the best defense in the NFL this season, going up
against a premier cornerback. There are a lot of Baltimore Colts,
a lot of Colts I'm gonna be sitting this week.
(29:45):
The only one I would probably sort of trust is
Jonathan Taylor because I have to. I really don't have
many more options. But Michael Pittman definite sit for me.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
Yeah, I agree with that.
Speaker 5 (29:55):
On Pittman and Lakwan Jones is gonna hate me for
this one, but I think JK.
Speaker 4 (29:59):
Dobbins is the Broncos running back to start.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
He led the Denver backfield in snaps, carries and routes
all of the red zone touches went his way and
the Colts they really struggled against.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
The run last season.
Speaker 5 (30:11):
Devon hen was the only Dolphin that put up a
respectable fantasy line last week.
Speaker 6 (30:16):
And game scripts.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
If the Colts are struggling on that Broncos defense, game
script will be on JK.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
Dobbins side.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
I want R. J.
Speaker 6 (30:22):
Harvey to be a thing, but it's who we see
it happen. I think JK.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Dobbins is the one you ride with a.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
Right moving on the rams heading down to the Music
City to take on the Tennessee Titans. And if you
are looking for a deep sleeper, if you're in a
deep league, or maybe just kind of want a little
bit of an out of the box play, Elick ile Man.
Look you look at the box score last week, you'll
see two catches for thirteen yards to be like this
guy one. It could have been a better number if
(30:48):
Brian Callahan challenges one of the plays he had down
the sideline. He made what on replay looked like a
fantastic catch with the Titans didn't challenge it. But it's
beyond that. It's the underlying numbers there. Eighty two percent
route for anticipation twenty eight percent, targets share forty two
percent of the air yards. If you're into the unrealized
air Yards thing one hundred and sixteen unrealized Airyards meeting,
(31:10):
there were opportunities out there. Kim Ward was going in
Iomanner's direction a lot, so they want to try to
get him involved. We saw Calvin Ridley get locked down
last week. I think we're gonna see the rookie get
a lot more opportunities. Again, this isn't like, hey, don't
sit here and try to tell me you're gonna start
him hard over a Madras Saint Brown. Yeah, like, don't
do that, don't do that. But otherwise, if you're looking
for a deep, sleeper contrarian play, I like ioman even
(31:33):
his stats.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
If you have an ir spot, absolutely definitely stats hitdle
a hand for sure.
Speaker 4 (31:38):
I do like Iomanner.
Speaker 5 (31:39):
I like Calvin Ridley to bounce back this week, but straightforward.
The one Titan you could play with one hundred percent
confidence is Tony Pollard. In my opinion, eighty nine percent
of the snaps in Week one, no running back played
more nineteen opportunities. That is elite volume, and he's been
averaging elite volume every game that Tajy Spears hasn't played
since last season in rams from middle.
Speaker 4 (32:01):
Of the pack against the run.
Speaker 5 (32:02):
We know he could be utilized in the passing game.
Tony Pollard is just very safe floor upside.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
All in one package.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Patriots and the Dolphins. That Miami coming off a really
embarrassing loss in Week one. The Patriots didn't play all
that great. I know a lot of people myself included,
like Drake May in week one? Are we willing to
double down in Week two? I think so.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Anytime you are going up against a team that had
a player's only meeting in week one, that's a little
bit of a concern. Is he going to go out
there and have a monster game against this team?
Speaker 1 (32:35):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
It's hard to really predict that. But at the same time,
the opportunity is going to be there. They see, you know,
they're not afraid to air it out there with the
New England Patriots, Miami did allow did.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
Allow so much production last week.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
Again, it's top but I think that if you were
riding with Drake May, if you drafted him as your
quarterback one, you should feel very confident going with him
this week.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
On the other side, I must start is tik Hill
and this is I think mostly a reminder. I know
that people were down on him this draft season for
a variety of reasons. Still a really talented player, Still
the focal point of the passing game. Miami wants to
be vertical. They weren't able to do that last week,
in part just because the game kind of got away
from them early. I don't expect that's going to happen now.
(33:19):
Whether they can sustain this sort of thing all year long,
I don't know, but I think for this week, after
getting embarrassed last week, we will see a better version
of the Dolphins offense, and that includes getting the ball
downfield to Tyreek Hill. The Raiders were able to go
deep on the Patriots last week. I think the Dolphins
can do it this week. Coming up a pair of
LSU Tigers sort of let you down. It's like a
(33:40):
Linda Ronstadt game, blew by you. Oh my god, talking
about I was just thinking, Hendel, do you know what
that means? Yes? No, idea what that means. We're gonna
talk about some some duns to studs coming up after
the break. The twenty twenty five NFL season is underway
and single game tickets are on sale now. Visit NFL
(34:00):
dot com slash tickets to purchase tickets today. Verified tickets
are available through the NFL ticket network, including Ticketmasters, Seat Geech,
and Sports Illustrated Tickets. So there are some guys that
probably lets you down in week one. We are going
to do some duds to studs, the guys who were
frustrating last week. It'll be a lot more fulfilling this week.
(34:21):
So who are you looking at the rank on a
guy that maybe will bounce back this week.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
I'm gonna look at Dak Prescott, who was one of
the I think I have so many shares of Dak Prescott,
especially in any league where I drafted Ceedee Lamb. I
really wanted to pair them to and have that connection going.
And Week one wasn't great. Unfortunately, we did see Devonte
Williams score of Paara touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
That's just so that's not gonna happen every week.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
That's just one of those things that's, you know, the
circumstance of what was happening in the game.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
But I think over the.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Long run, Dak Prescott is going to be very good
for your fantasy teams. The Cowboys attempted over thirty five
passes per game on average last season.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
And you know what, this week is an opportunity.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
To get it right against a Giants team that he
had a seven to one touchdown to interception ratio against.
This is going to be a monster game for Dak Prescott.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (35:12):
I really like Dak Prescott this week, and I love
me some Traveon Henderson. I know, last week only five carries,
he still nearly doubled Rimondre Stevenson in rushing yards averaged
over five yards per carry. So that is some of
the explosiveness that was advertised this preseason.
Speaker 6 (35:28):
But what stood out to me six targets.
Speaker 5 (35:32):
He is clearly going to be heavily utilized in the
passing game. And the Dolphins, they were just torched by
the Colts. Lots of explosive plays. I think we start
to see the home run hitter, kind of like Juan Soto.
Traion is going to hit a couple of home runs
this week and maybe even get a receiving touchdown from
Drake May.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
I'm trying to count all the receiving touchdowns one Soto has.
I'm come to get Blake look at wide receivers. Jamar
Chase is gonna bounce back. I think you can apply
this to a lot of parts of the Bengal offense.
Last week, they had seven yards of offense in the
second half. I feel like that's probably not going to
happen again the other part of last week. And maybe
we should have seen this coming. The Browns just have
(36:11):
the antidote for Jamar Chase. He's played them eight times
in his career. He's only had two games with more
than sixty receiving yards against Cleveland. This is going to
be a whole different scenario against this Jacksonville defense this week.
So you know, in case you were frustrated, in case
you were worried, I don't know why you'd be worried
about Jamar Chase, Do not be. He'll go back to
looking more like the Jamar Chase wer.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Used to see.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Have you ever met fantasy people like they get worried
about every single person who does not perform. Speaking of which,
Mark Andrews struggled in Week one, and this is the
perfect opportunity for him to bounce back because he's got
a match up against the Cleveland Browns, a team that
he has torched throughout his history. He's averaged over fifteen
fantasy points per game. In his last four against the Browns.
(36:54):
He's had at least fourteen points in those games and
three of his last four, so it's not like one
big pop game. The one thing he does need to
do is get into the end zone. But the Cleveland
Browns have allowed the eighth most receiving touchdowns to tight
end since twenty twenty four. Look for Mark Andrews to
bounce back in a huge way.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Go Those are our duds to studs for Week two.
Get back to our game previews. The Carolina Panthers head
down to the desert to take on Arizona Rank. The
Panther offense was un good. It's not good the first week.
What should fantasy managers be looking out for.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
I thought it would be a lot better.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
But still at the same time, for anybody who went
out there and we're streaming the Cardinals defense last week
because they opened with the New Orleans Saints and you're like,
oh my gosh, I forgot to pick up a defense.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Nope, you did. You're fine.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
You could go with the Cardinals again this week against
the Carolina Panthers. We're playing the matchups very simply. Some
of the teams that we're looking at streaming against. It's
going to be the Panthers, it's going to be the Saints,
and low key, it's going to be the Giants until
they do the right thing and put Jamis Winston as
their starting quarterback.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
So field, go ecks and dark.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Now you know what, cause you know, you really want
to know what you have with the Giants offensive line
before you put Jackson Dart out there. Like Jameis Winston
is the for I know, I'm sorry, I'm sneaking on
a football tack, but Jamis Winston's a perfect bridge quarterback.
And he's also a vibe guy. Did you not see
those goop bass guy like Jamis Jackson Darden when they
had Tommy DeVito.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
They were amazing.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
There were so much fun out there and the Giants.
Speaker 5 (38:21):
I would love to see Jameis Winston from a league neighbors,
but I don't know what we're going to I do
know we're gonna see a ton of James Connor this weekend.
I think he is a must start option because you
saw the Panthers get ran all over last week by
Travis Etn.
Speaker 6 (38:35):
They also gave up the most fantasy points per.
Speaker 5 (38:37):
Game to running backs last season and the season before that.
Like this is just a trend to start running backs
against the Carolina Panthers fourteen points last week feels like
more of a closer to a floor game for Connor.
This could be the big ceiling game that people want
to get in fantasy love.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
Connor also loved Trey Benson as a sleeper.
Speaker 2 (38:54):
Speaking of sleep let's put Trey Benson in my line up.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
There you go what I do? Speaking of sleepers, As
we get to the forty nine or and the Saints,
if you are looking for a sleeper there, let me
introduce you to Juwan Johnson, who seems to be the
apple of Spencer Rattler's eye, maybe because Rattler is just
not a downfield thrower generally, as they show him throwing
one like twelve fifteen yards down the field. Thanks, But
generally he's a guy who's keeping everything right around the
(39:17):
line of scrimmage. That is where Juwan Johnson tends to
live with Spencer Rattler at quarterback, Johnson leaves the team
in targets, receptions, and yards. He really is the first
option for Spencer Rattler in the passing game. So while
we're worried about everybody else there in New Orleans, Juwan
Johnson feels like, especially if you lost George Kittle and
you look at a stream a tight end, Juwan Johnson
(39:38):
feels like a really nice option for you this week.
Injury updates via Tom Pelasero Bill's running back James Cook
is off the injury report and good to go Sunday
versus the Jets. Meanwhile, for the Giants, wide receivers Molak
Neighbors and Darius Slayton are off the injury report and
good to go Sunday versus the Cowboys, Wandelle Robinson is questionable.
Left tackle Andrew Thomas is doubtful. It gets us to
(40:02):
power to the people. We are taking some of your
questions from social media and trying to give you answers
as best we can. We'll start with this one for you.
Michael f Florio, Hi, NFL Fantasy. Do I start on
my team Bo Knicks or Daniel Jones? Thanks greetings from Portugal.
Speaker 5 (40:18):
This is why Daniel Jones was to sit this week.
Do not chase the points against this defense.
Speaker 6 (40:22):
Give me Bo Nicks.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
Yeah, it seems ok. I an easier call there for you.
This one a tougher one. Rank Travis Hunter or key
On Coleman in the flex this week?
Speaker 2 (40:30):
Yeah, both of them interesting options. I'm gonna go to
Travis Hunter. I think the matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals warranted.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
Yeah, I like both of them, but I do like
Hunter a little more. Should I trade Aaron Jones for
Javonte Williams? Straight up? I mean, if you want to.
It feels like a lateral move here. Don't be blinded
by the two rushing touchdowns Javonte Williams had last week.
I think when it's all said and done, they're gonna
be kind of the same guy. So I'm oh right,
I want to give this one of you. Do I
(40:57):
start Quintin Johnston or Nico Collins this week?
Speaker 2 (40:59):
And PPR, I understand being disappointed with Nico Collins, but
that's the obvious stard.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
Here, all right, So Collins over Johnston for you, Florio
Pickens or Myers for my flex spot? Full point PPR.
Speaker 5 (41:11):
By the way, I'm gonna go with George Pickens there
and what I think could be a bounce back for
all of the Cowboys Passinger Tech.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
All right, A hey, I think you want to know
what happens in the future. We're giving you Monday's headlines today, Floria.
What's everybody gonna be talking about after the weekend?
Speaker 4 (41:26):
Made in Miami?
Speaker 5 (41:27):
Three hundred yards and three tds with them going to
boutet Hunter and Traveon Henderson.
Speaker 2 (41:33):
All right, right, what you got JJ is Dino miights. Yeah,
it's not a fluke Jj McCarthy is a good NFL quarterback.
He's gonna put up big numbers this week against the Falcons.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
Jamie. Anyway, I'm gonna tell you that Keon lights up Broadway.
Keon Coleman had a very good week one. I think
he keeps that rolling. Love the usage there. It's like
for the first we at Travis Hunter or Keon Coleman.
That feels like a good problem to have. We'll be
back with you, of course on Monday, five pm Eastern
start time ahead of the Monday Night football double aheader
for a rank for Florida. I am Marcus Joybee two. Everybody,
(42:06):
We'll see you next week.
