Speaker 1 (00:00):
Everybody.
Speaker 2 (00:00):
Today, it's a Fantasy line edition of the Fantasy Football Podcast.
I'm Patrick Claibond. I'll be joined by Marcus Grant and
Adam Rank. It's Week four. A look back at the
top performers from Week three, as well as projecting the
best players in fantasy football for Week four, and a
look at who you can go and grab on the
waiver wire.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
That's all today on the Fantasy Football Podcast. Everybody, Welcome
to NFL Fantasy Loat.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Patrick claib I'm here with Adam Rank and Marcus Grant
here to kick off your Week four of NFL Action
and get you set for Because we used to be
able to say it was the quarter port of the season,
but then we added a game, so that's like the
point two to three point of the season.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
But we're learning it's like leafier.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
It's like, you know, we got a quarter, quarter and
a quarter.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Just add it all together.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
Marcus, that's it's it's too much mathing. It's much mathing.
I'm not doing this.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
We'll skip math and we'll get right to the news
of the day.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Big news out of New York asking you shall receive
Adam Rank, you called it a couple of weeks ago,
just a little early, the Giants are making a quarterback change,
finally sending Russell Wilson to the bench in favor of
first round rookie out of old Miss Jackson Dart.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
According to the.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
NFL Network and sider Ian Rappaport, as well as NFL
Network itsider Marke Girfolo Marcus, does this.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Send all of our Giants stunks to the moon?
Speaker 5 (01:29):
I don't know if it's going to send them to
the moon, but certainly you got to feel better about
the opportunities for guys like Malik Neighbors, for wan Dale Robinson.
What we saw from Russell Wilson the last couple of weeks,
a guy just kind of throwing.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Those moon balls up there.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
So now hopefully you're gonna have a quarterback that's going
to give them more of a real opportunity. I mean,
I think that last drive against the Chiefs, it's fourth
down and Russell Wilson puts one off the crossbar. That
was probably the final straw. So I gotta believe. I'm
not going to guarantee that it's going to be better,
but I gotta believe it's hard for it to go
further down than what we've seen.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
There's the case it can't get much worse, So let's
go elsewhere in the division. Commander's receiver Terry McLaurin seeking
additional opinions on his squad injury. According to Tom Pilaicero,
status for week four in Atlanta's still unknown rank. What's
your level of concern for Scary, Terry and the rest
of the offense at this point.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
I'm going to concern too, because we're not going to
get an update on Jade Daniels until Wednesday, so really
wondering what it's going to happen with this team moving forward.
We did see a little bit of an uptick for
Deebo Samuel. They've got to figure out the running situation
because can they just pick one guy, whether it's to
Corey Crosskey Merrit, is it going to be Jeremy McNichols,
and then stop throwing the ball to Luke McCaffrey.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Like this is too confusing, There's too many things going on.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
It is going to be a frustrating situation a monitor,
but we'll keep on, We'll keep tabs on it.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Over the next couple of days.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
A busy start to the day for the Insiders. They
reported this morning on another extended receiver absence, Mike Evans
expected to miss multiple weeks with a hamstring injury, and
Jerry Jones, after initially downplaying the severe of Ceedee Lamb's injury,
said the team is considering the possibility of placing him
on injured reserve, which would knock him out for four games.
(03:08):
Jones said, quote, we'll watch it a few more days.
We don't have to decide now. Other than that being
mildly annoying for anyone hoping to use a reserve spot
on lamb rink?
Speaker 1 (03:17):
What does this mean for fantasy managers?
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Well, this one's disappointing because I know a lot of people,
myself included, anticipated Ceedee Lamb having a bounce back season
after a struggle last year. And now we can take
a look at George Pickens. Is he going to be
the player who is able to step up in his absence?
The Cowboys do have a nice stable of other wide
receivers that will go through that one of them will
end up on the waiver wire hot sauce, of course,
(03:40):
but I think George Pickens really has an opportunity, and
I think that when you see him working alongside Dak
Prescott trying to get this offense going. I think there's
a real opportunity for George Pickens. For those of us
who picked him this season thinking he was going to
be the kind of T Higgins of this offense, this
is now an opportunity for him to go out there
and shine.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeah, we'd liked the and a lot of these guys
would be available, but Marcus considering a real need at
wide receiver that's popping up in a few places, what
should people take a look at on the waiver wire.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
Well, Christian Kirk is a name that's out there in
a whole lot of leagues, and you know, the Texans
still trying to figure out their wide receiver situation. It's
kind of been Nico Collins and then they're searching for
another option. Christian Kirk really can be that option. We
saw him come back last week on a twenty three
percent target share in that one. You know, I know
that sometimes with if you've had Christian Kirk on your roster,
(04:29):
it could be a little bit of a roller coaster.
But he's in a situation now in a Texans offense
trying to find itself where I think there's gonna be
plenty of opportunity.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
And again, if you're.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
Missing Mike Evans, if you're missing CD Lamb, he's out
there and a guy who has a chance to maybe
make some big plays for you.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Let's make it a big plays.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Let us put a bow on what was Week three
in the National Football League with a look back at
Monday night football between the Baltimore Ravens and the Detroit Lions.
And yeah, the Lions look pretty good, starting with David Montgomery.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
My guy, David Montgomery.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
I also did the heroes thing by also getting that touchdown.
I'm glad he scored, and I'm glad that he's been
able to produce so far this season. Very it was
sort of frustrating last night because I needed Lamar Jackson
to score one more touchdown to be my way through
egg and then I didn't need David Montgomery.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
In a different league.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
I'm like, as long as it's not David Montgomery, it's.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Going to be David Montgomery. So that's fine.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
I mean, that's the virtue of fantasy, and especially when
you're in twenty plus leagues, every score either goes for
you or against you. But I'm happy for my guy
David Montgomery going out there and flourish. I still miss him,
I still wove for him, even though he's a member
of the Detroit Lions. He'll never make me hate David Montgomery.
And you should be starting a beach in every week.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Look, I ended up benefiting from David Montgomery and that
last touchdown last night as well.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
But then Jamier Jibbs on.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
The other side, maybe the numbers weren't quite as eye popping,
but still you're not going to really quibble about twenty
six point nine points there, RB four on the season
to this point, and within the contact of the Lions offense,
he really is the RB one now had nearly seventy
percent of the snaps on Monday night, twenty eight total opportunities.
Compare that to just thirteen for David Montgomery. But I
(06:09):
think what we saw last night is a reminder Sonic
and Knuckles still very much alive. Does it matter if
Ben Johnson's there or not. The Lions have two running
backs who can prosper on a weekly basis.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
You know.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
And I forgot to take the humble brag on David
Montgomery because I've been with him all season. But I'm
going to take the humble brag for last night segment.
A mon Ross Saint Brown was going to have a
monster performance. This point total right here is not I
play in a league with different scoring, so he did
get close to the thirty points that I anticipated. One
of the biggest plays I thought it was a great
(06:42):
design was at that fourth down play at the end
of the game there where they were trying to put
it away against the Ravens. I think this is the
play right here. Yeah, what a That's a pretty good
pass by Jared Goffer. I'd say that was the third
best pass of the weekend. And so I congratulations Tom
on today Brown figure out the other two you want
guest number one, but go ahead and trying to figure
(07:03):
out the other two.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Nobody will guess number one.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
But great job by a mont Ross Saint Brown. And
you know what, this is why you start him every week.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Speaking of not necessarily mentioning the teams we generally celebrate
and would desire to win, I can celebrate one thing
about Mark Andrews' performance, And as I told you so,
give me the humble brag because I said last week,
you're on NFL Fantasy.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
So I've a former president there.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
I said that Mark Andrews would ultimately make you regret
a drop decision because this is what he does. And
there are those out there, Michael Eflorio, who say that
Mark Andrews is touchdown to pendent. Oh yeah, he scored
more touchdowns than any tight end since twenty twenty four
for a reason, because as long as eight and eighty
nine are out there on the field, they will eventually
make things work. So congratulations to Mark Andrews being back
(07:48):
fantasy relevant, just like it was last year.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
Yeah, I'll admit that I was one of those pessimistic
about Mark Andrews, but then again, I looked at the
waiver war options and I'm like, well, I got to
stick with him. So it sort of worked out in
a backwards sort of way. You're not gonna consider dropping
Lamar Jackson because you would be foolish to do so
unless you play an a two team league. Even in
you're starting Lamar Jackson two hundred and eighty eight passing yards,
three touchdowns, a paltry thirty five rushing yards. I mean,
(08:12):
paltry by Lamar Jackson's standards. I don't really know what
to say other than he continues to be good at football.
There's a reason the debate was between him and Josh
Allen as the first quarterback off the board. I don't
think there was a wrong answer in that when Lamar
just continues to prosper.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Not necessarily prospering, especially in the fourth quarter of this
twenty twenty five season. Is Derrick Henry, who had a
great start to the game with a twenty six yard
touchdown but only finished with ten point seven fantasy points,
got stonewall three times on the goal line, and of course,
for the third consecutive time, had a fourth quarter fumble,
(08:47):
something that hasn't happened in his career. And you got
to go all the way back until nineteen ninety seven
though the last time with Baltimore raven has had that happen.
He looked a lot of sorts on the sideline. But
you have to expect that Derek Henry will bounce back
will this Ravens offense. But yeah, is Rank pointed out
the Lions won their Super Bowl against the Bears.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Yeah, they're just gonna keep piling up. Super Bowl Guy
Fantasy reports.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
No Super Bowl hangover for them at all.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Let's take a look here at the perfect lineup. David
Montgomery right there, twenty nine point four fantasy points, Caleb
Williams who might have had one of those passes Rankles
referencing twenty nine point one.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Of fantasy points one a week.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
What a season for Jonathan Taylor, Trey Tucker with his
forty points.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
But yeah, the folks at the winer circle said.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
That there's gonna be free Glizzies on Tuesday. If Caleb
Williams had four touchdowns, Well, this is it from the
winer circle. Cale Williams had four touchdowns, free Glizzies for
the people of Chicago.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Free. So let's go ahead. It gets to the ones.
Who's going to be the number one quarterback?
Speaker 4 (09:45):
Right, I'm gonna say Jordan Love because he's going up
against the Dallas Cowboys. That Caleb Williams and Russell Wilson
just had great performances.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
Again, I wish which guy.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
I don't know if Wisconsin has that kind of culture
where you could have some thing like, hey, if Jordan
Love has four to I don't know what you.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Have, cheese kurds, whatever, whatever it is. Aaron Nagler, let me.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
Know what it is, because I would love to know
what you can step up your game, Wisconsin, show us something.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
But I think that.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
Jordan Love goes out there bounces back. Obviously last week
against Cleveland, it didn't go well for them. I think
that's an indication of how good Cleveland's defense is. It's
gonna be a huge bounce back game for the Packers
here well.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
In most spots in these space and time continuing, and
Josh Allen continues to be a good fantasy quarterback. So
that's kind of why I'm picking him to be the
number one quarterback this week. Oh also because he's playing
against the Saints, who admittedly have not been as bad
as we thought they could be. I mean they haven't
been good particularly either. They've given up seven touchdown passes
no interceptions so far this season, have the lowest QB
(10:47):
pressure rate in the NFL. They faced one mobile quarterback
this year. That was Kyler Murray, who actually ran for
thirty eight yards, So you consider that nearly four extra
points there. Josh Allen himself has at least twenty five
rushing yards in.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
All three games.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
The only way I think this really goes bad is
if this game turns into sort of what the Bills
did in Week two where they came out and they
just thumped the Jets so thoroughly that they didn't really
need a whole lot from Josh Allen. I mean, I
guess that's in the range of outcomes, but that's not
going to be enough to keep you from not starting
Josh Allen.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
I think the number one running back is going to
be James Cook.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
As you pointed out, Marcus, the Saints have held their
last two opponents to under one hundred rushing yards. But
those two quarterbacks have something in common with a lot
of other people. They're not Josh Allen, and the threat
of the run makes things a little bit easier for
James Cook to open things up for him and maybe
we get to.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
See some backups.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
But Cook is averaging six yards of carry in the
last two weeks, so I think he could be your
RB one.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Right if the game does get out of hand, how
do you think it gets out of hands? Because points
three touchdowns to put it away in the second quarter.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
I'm gonna go with JK. Dobbins against the Bengals on
Monday Night.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
This is going to be a plus matchup that we're
going to be searching for each and every week who
is playing the Cincinnati Bengals. We saw Jordan Mason was
able to do last week, but also you know JK
has been playing pretty well for the Denver Broncos. And
one of the things that Sean Payton said after the
loss to the Chargers on Sunday was that they need
to stop putting bo Nicks in third and long situations.
(12:11):
And one of the ways that you do that is
establishing the run in the first two downs. So I
think that they will come out with a game plan
of establishing the run early, trying to open it up
for Boonicks, giving him some opportunities to convert some third downs.
And I feel right there. Yeah, you're right, JK. Dobbins,
you're going to eat this week.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
Yeah, unlike rank before noon, Marcus wide receiver.
Speaker 5 (12:32):
One, Well, we're gonna go back to the Chicago Land area.
I don't know if you get any free hot dogs
for Romo Dunze catching multiple touchdowns or anything like that,
but I do like his opportunity against the Raiders this week.
He's become the new wide receiver one in this Bears offense.
It's apparent that he and Caleb Williams do have a
really good connection going leads the team in all major
(12:53):
receiving categories at least seven targets in every game. He's
had at least one touchdown reception in every game, also
veraging almost thirteen air yards per target. They are attacking
downfield with Romo Doonzay and that's good news against the
Raider defense giving up the third most receiving yards two
wideouts this year. So it's been great if you've had
Romo Dunese, if you've been stacking him and Caleb, it's
(13:13):
worked out really well.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
I think that keeps rolling in the Week four.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Yeah, such fun to watch that connection. I'm going to
go back to the well and take Justin Jefferson as
the wide receiver one this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers
defense that's given up thirty points in every game that
they've played where the opponent didn't turn the ball over
five times.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
That's an official stat.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Mean, while Carson Wentz getting more comfortable targeted Jefferson seven
times in his first start for Kevin O'Connell. Have to
imagine they'll try to display JJ for all the folks
in Dublin Sunday and.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Who are watching right here on NFL Network.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
And with the game in Dublin, we thought we'd introduce
you to a little Celtic folklore. One of Ireland's mini
tales is the Puka, no relation to the Rams Receiver.
It's a mischievous shape shifting spirit that can bring either
good or bad fortune, playing tricks on travelers and farmers,
often taking the form of a dark, black, thirred animal.
(14:06):
So normally we'll do, you know, factor fiction, truth or
a lie, but we're doing a star or a shape
shifting trickster here on Fantasy Live. Marcus Grant will make
the designation and we'll start one of the guys that's
gonna be playing in that game, Jordan Mason, a Fantasy
Star or shape shifting trickster.
Speaker 5 (14:26):
Well, first off, I want to say that that image
looked sort of like that rabbit from Donnie Darko that
was hunching Jay Gillenhall Forever.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
And Ever Donnie Darko who asked for Jordan Mason.
Speaker 5 (14:39):
He is a Fantasy Star, and this has been building
for a couple of weeks, even before the Aaron Jones injury.
Jordan Mason really was pushing for more opportunities now with
Jones on injured reserve, this backfield really does belong to Mason. Yeah,
we saw a little bit of Xavier Scott over the weekend,
but sixty percent snap share, more than half of Minnesota's
carries in that And I know you're gonna say.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Well, it's against the Bengals.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
True, it is a bad defense, but he was getting
a lot of opportunity. He's run hard all year long,
and this is a Vikings team that's running very heavily,
one of the run heaviest teams in the league through
three weeks. So I like the opportunity. That's really what
you want. You just want the opportunity, and right now,
Jordan Mason is getting it in a big way.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
All right, Let's go to the star of the Kansas
City Chiefs receiving game.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Out of nowhere, Taekwon Thornton.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Is he a true Fantasy star or is this a
shape shifting trickster.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
I feel like this is gonna morph into something you
don't want. This feels like a trickster a little bit.
What I have loved about this, though, is that Patrick
Mahomes seems intent on hitting the deep ball to Taekwon Thornton.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
It's been a couple weeks in a row.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
They go deep, it doesn't work, and then like on
the next player, next two plays, Mahomes is like, we're
doing this again and they'll get it to connect. But
this feels unsustainable. Almost twenty four air yards per target.
That's more than fifty percent of the Chiefs air yards.
So far, every other primary Kansas City pass catcher is
below eight yards per target. And you look at the
expect did catch trade for those of you like the
(16:01):
advanced stats, it's below fifty percent. So right now, it's
just it really is a coin flip whether or not
Thornton's gonna make the catch on any given opportunity. Plus,
I expect this role is going to diminish quite a
bit when Rashi, Rice and Xavier Worthy returned.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
So if you took.
Speaker 5 (16:15):
Advantage of the last couple weeks, congratulations. I feel like
this may not Taekwon Thornton as a viable fantasy option
may not return from Ireland when they come back.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Yeah, the trickster element shows up in the video there
where that pass was definitely doing the Hollywood brow. Nobody
could convince me otherwise of that. Speaking of tricks, it
was a trick play for Luther Burden. Is he a
real fantasy star or is this a little bit of
some behind the scenes trick or ration.
Speaker 5 (16:41):
Yeah, this feels like a little bit of smoking mirrors.
I'm gonna say this is a trickster thing for Luthor Burdon.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
It was fun.
Speaker 5 (16:47):
I'm assuming that long pass to Burden is one of
the three top throws that Adam Rank was referencing earlier
in the show, But he's well down the pecking order
when it comes to target share. Just six targets all
season long plus week three feels like an anomaly, just
over twenty air yards per target, where in week two
it was about three air yards per target. In week
one it was almost minus five air yards per target.
(17:10):
He ran only eight routes in week three. He's had
just twenty one for the season. So while it was
fun to see the Luther Burden glow up for a week,
I feel like this is you know, this is that
Sirens song that's going to lure you to the rocks
if you decide you're gonna go that way, all right.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
If you were on those rocks on you know, on
the Emerald Isle, and you look over at Jake Ferguson.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Is that something you should believe, Marcus.
Speaker 5 (17:33):
I think you should believe in that. Yeah, I think
there is something there. I think he is a fantasy star.
And this was even before the CD Lamb injury. In
the first two weeks of the season, had a twenty
two percent target share. With Lamb down, that numbers jumped
to twenty five percent, and now we know CD's gonna
be out for at least.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
A couple of weeks.
Speaker 5 (17:51):
It seems the Cowboys have a league high one hundred
and thirty one pass attempts through three games, so there's
still plenty of targets to go around. So even if
we see George Pickens get a few extra or maybe
Cavante Tupet or Jalen Tolbert, there's still gonna be plenty
for Jake Ferguson. And I think, especially this week, the
Packers defense has been.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Generally very good.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
You've got a blind spot against tight end, so I
do think that Fergie could have a really good week.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
All right, that's fantasy star or shape shifting trickster with
Marcus Grant.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Let's get over to get you some help on the
waiver wire. With the the labor wire.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
Hot sauce without them, Uran, it is time for the
hot sauce, and there's somebody of Irish descent.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
I want to thank you for that last segment.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
That was really good way to Usually the Irish stereotypes
are drinking, fighting, cutting soap, so this was a nice
little change, nice little diss a nice little thing.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
I say this.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
I have no reason to be indignant because I'm about
to drag the state of Arizona because we.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Start off with the mild flavorfowl.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
And of course it's got to be somebody from Arizona.
Trey Benson is a viable waiver wire option. Listen, I
understand a lot of you are going to be like, well,
he's long gone in my league.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
We get it.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
I understand the same disappointment have to when I go
to Arizona and somebody's like, I found the greatest Mexican
place of all time. It's called Chipotle. We just discovered
to see, this is the thing, this.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
Is the thing that I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
Obviously he might be gone, still do your due diligence,
go check it out. De Mercado is probably available on
your waiver wire. I do know that even in the
league that I do with my friends over at Circa
and the Golden Gate.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Benson's even gone in that league.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
And if those yoyos have figured out that Benson's the
guy to pick up, then I think there might not
be a lot of options for you. But still, that
is your mom a firefol Chucky be that's gonna get there,
all right. Let's go to spicy. Let's go to spicy
in a place that actually, I'm actually this, Denver, Colorado
has tremendous Mexican food better than California, No, tremendous. Where
(19:44):
was I at the other Rorobertos Ro Roberto's one of
the greatest places.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
And what is the other one?
Speaker 4 (19:50):
There's another one, there's another great one. But still, Troy
Franklin is the guy that we're talking about here. So
far this season he leads to Denver Broncos with fourteen
receptions fourteen end zone targets this year. There has been
a connection with him and bow Knicks and if they
if the Broncos could go out there and establish their
run and start to get into those situations where they
open up the passing game because they're running the ball
(20:11):
so well, there is a huge opportunity.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
And also this.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
Week going up against the Cincinnati Bengals, so you want
to make sure that you go out there and get
Troy Franklin into your lineup with a low It was
a low liner.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
It was so weird.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Three alarm, three alarm.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
And let's go to Wisconsin.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Romeo Dobbs is going to be the guy to pick
up this week for the for the for the three
alarm right there.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
And I will say this.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
There's no there's nothing spicy in all of Wisconsin, although
I will say some of the spicy mustard that they
get for the brons not bad, but still not not.
Wisconsin's not known for not a lot of spice, nothing
like that.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
In any event, though, here's the thing.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
This week they're going up against the Dallas Cowboys, who've
allowed the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers
this season. They've allowed the most receiving guards per game
to wide receivers this season. Four separate pass catch caught
touchdowns against the Dallas Cowboys last week. So make sure
you were loading up with as many Packers pass catchers.
(21:08):
It'll be the wrong one. They'll find a way. It'll
be fitzpatby John Fitzpatrick, it'll be somebody that you're not starting,
but Romeo.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Dobbs would be my highest recommend. Dag's watch O Patrick,
that was all right, let's go hell the Oablo hel Diablo.
And if you do need a.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Pass catcher for the Dallas Cowboys, George Pickens is obviously gone,
but Jalen Tolbert.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Is going to be available for you on your waiver around.
I'm just predicting this.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Let the team in routes run in week three, he
leads the team. His targets, receptions, receiving yards have increased
each and every week.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
And if ceedee Lamb does end up going out on.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
The way on the ir excuse me, he is going
to be somebody that you can use as a replacement.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
You're probably not gonna start to meet you every week.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
Would I would work on the matchups, but in a
game where I expect the game script to favor the
Cowboys passing the ball an awful lot. Jaalen Tolbert, He's
gonna end up being your ldblem all right. Coming up
next on NFL Fantasy Live, call me Scott's staff, Can.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
I take you higher?
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Because we're gonna be looking at some of the top
players in fantasy football, and we're gonna determine if they're
gonna finish higher or lower then their projected stats for
the coming week.

That is coming up.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Eighteen point two fantasy points for Jared Goff. Mister Rick, You.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
Know what, I know, I will come off as a
hatering hatester. I'm gonna say lower for Jared Goff. And
this is not I'm not saying he's a bad quarterback
or anything. This is just how much deference in respect
I have for the Cleveland Browns defense. This season, They've
allowed only one quarterback to have more than twelve fantasy
points in a game. That was Lamar Jackson. Earlier this year,
there are averaging less than one hundred and fifty passing
(23:27):
yards per game. I think it's gonna be tough to
go out there and accumulate fantasy Fantasy points. So if
you have others, although it's tough, I wouldn't necessarily sit him.
I just think that eighteen might be a little bit
too robust for Jared Goff this week, Jared.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Goff going up and it's a good defense, and bone
Knick Marcus is playing the Bengals higher, lower than sixteen
and a half Fantasy points.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Yeah, we're gonna go higher than that.
Speaker 5 (23:49):
I mean last week, the Vikings took Carson Wentz out
of mothballs.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
And he gave them.
Speaker 5 (23:54):
He gave you fifteen fantasy points if you were brave
enough to start him. So I have a little more
confidence that bon Knicks, who's been playing pretty well this year,
is going to be able to do that. I mean,
we saw last week. It was a tough game against
a very good Charger defense, the different sort of being
at Nicks missed on a couple of deep shots. I
think he's gonna get plenty opportunity to hit those deep
shots this week against the Bengals plus throw on the
(24:14):
fact that he can get out of the pocket, he
can run a little bit. It does feel like that
that's a pretty good number for him to hit.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
All right, let's go to nineteen point four for a
guy you can make the case playing better football than
anybody in the league right now, Jonathan Taylor hire a lower.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
You certainly you know it's reminiscent of last season when
we had Sakuon Barkley going off. I'm gonna go higher here,
but this is reminiscent of last year because Jonathan Taylor
is one of those players who went at the end
of the first round, maybe the early second round. So
any league that I'm in where I'm doing really well,
I'm like, oh, how am I doing well? I'm like, oh,
that's right. I picked twelve and I ended up with.
(24:47):
Jonathan Taylor is one of my fantasy running backs. What
we've seen so far, he's averaged over six yards per
rush and back to back games, leads the NFL which
twenty one forced misstackles this season according to NGS, and
he's got a tough matchup against the La Rams. The
Rams did a really nice job against Sakuon Barkley this
past week. However, I do think the Colts are going
to go out there and establish the run in this contest.
(25:09):
So I will take Jonathan Taylor on the other side
of nineteen point four.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
All right, let's go out west inside the division in
the NFC West Kenneth Walker against the Cardinals.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Higher lower than thirteen point.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Eight, Marcus, I'm going to go higher than thirteen point eight.
He's had eighteen points in back to back weeks, doing
it in very different ways. Two weeks ago was over
one hundred yards, found the end zone that had contributed
a lot to his production. This past week, not so
much on the rushing side, the fewer than forty rushing yards,
but he did find the end zone twice. They don't
ask how, they ask how many, And he's been getting
it done. You know, a lot of it's going to
(25:42):
depend on the health of Zach Sharbonay. I know he's
trending toward playing, But it does look like Kenneth Walker
has reascended back to being the RB one there in Seattle. Hey, look,
the Cardinals haven't given up a ton of yards on
the ground, but I do think that touchdown upside is
going to help Walker.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Let's go to a matchup of unbeatens in the NFC,
DeVonta Smith and the Eagle playing the Bucks higher lower
than thirteen point.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
Six for Smitty.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Now, can I say this is the exact total?
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Yeah? Sure.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
We did see a great performance out at Vanta Smith
over the weekend where he had what twenty Fantasy points.
Coming into this game, he had been averaging like right
around seven Fantasy points. It had been great, and they
really unlocked something this week against the Rams, probably because
they weren't able to run the football. But I do
believe that this is going to be a higher scoring
game with two of my favorite quarterbacks in the league.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
So I'm in on all.
Speaker 4 (26:27):
The pass catchers for both of the teams, especially with
Devanta Smith.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
Ricky piersall of the San Francisco forty nine ers got
a lot of targets markets higher lower than thirteen point
none fantasy boards.
Speaker 5 (26:38):
I'm gonna go higher because right now, I mean, you know,
it being Tuesday, and you know Kyle Shanahan is going
to wait until the last possible minute to tell us
who's available and who's not. But it looks like it's
pretty much Christian McCaffrey and Ricky pearsall those are your
options in the passing game for the forty nine ers.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
So volume is certainly going to help a lot.
Speaker 5 (26:56):
We saw him make a lot of big catches last
week against the Arizona Cardinals.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
I think he's.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
Really becoming a go to guy in this offense, not
just out of necessity, but also because of what he's
able to do out there on the field.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
The Jaguars have.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
Been very generous to wide receivers this week. It looks
like Brock Purdy is going to be back under center
for San Francisco. So I think Ricky Pierce all continues
to be very productive for the Niners and for your
fantasy team.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Yeah, and I love the insinuation that perhaps Kyle Shanahan
might occasionally not provide us with the full amount of
context regarding the status of his players to something maybe
we need to look best.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Time now for.
Speaker 5 (27:34):
Another edition of my five, and this week I have
my five new realities we got to come to grips
with here in the twenty twenty five season, things have
changed after three weeks and we have to adjust acquordingly.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
So here we go at number five.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
It might just be that the Chargers wide receiver one
is Quinton Johnston. Chargers have been more pass heavy than
we expected. They have three quality wide receiver targets in Johnston,
Keenan Allen, and Lad McConkey, But it's QJ that leads
the team in receiving yards, tied for the team lead
in receiving touchdowns and per Fantasy Points data is the
first read on twenty six percent of Justin Herbert's attempts.
(28:12):
That is tops for the Chargers. You know, once upon
a time in Fantasy we believed in the third year
breakout for wide receivers, Quintin Johnson could be the guy
to make us believe that again. At number four, Ashton
Gents is an RB two. Maybe the Raiders can't run
the ball. Junti's currently the RB thirty three, has just
point seven yards before contact per rushing attempt. In case
(28:35):
you don't want to break it down, that basically means
as soon as he gets the ball, there's somebody in
his face. More than seventy five percent of his rush
yards have come after contact. Raiders throwing at the fifth
highest rate in the NFL. Jen Z, though not a
part of the passing game just five catches for three yards.
Pete carrolsees he wants to get him more touches. It
could be the game Scriptstoll that make it a little
bit more difficult for the Raiders. At number three, another
(28:57):
running back for the rookie class.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
R J. Harvey is barely rosterable right now.
Speaker 5 (29:02):
Harvey is kind of getting the Marvin Mims treatment in Denver.
The offensive snaps have decreased in each game, and the
touches he gets, he's not really doing a whole lot
with him eighty rushing yards on thirteen carries. Most of
those came on a fifty yard run in week one.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Otherwise thirty yards on twelve carries.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
If you don't want to do the math, that's two
and a half yards per rush in ten team leagues.
You could probably put Harvey on waivers until further notice.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
At number two.
Speaker 5 (29:27):
I promise I'm not picking on these rookies. It just
happens to work out that way. It's time to pivot
Travis Hunter to the bench. Jacksonville has one of the
NFL's least efficient passing games fifty eight percent completion percentage.
Only the Titans have been worse Travis Hunter is sixty
six percent route participation, fifteen percent target share, fewer than
seven air yards per target, plus the shriff offensive snaps
(29:49):
versus defensive snaps is shifting week three, fifty six percent
of the offensive snaps almost seventy percent of the defensive snaps.
Until Jacksonville gets better quarterback play and we get a
clearest sense of Hunter's usage, it's probably time to put
him on the bench. And the number one going back
to the veterans, the Jamar Chase coaster is going to
be nauseating.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Jake Brownie at quarterback for Cincinnati not optimal.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
The problem is between the fantasy draft capital you spent
and chases overall ceiling, it's hard to get away from him.
The targets will be there. He had eleven from Brownie
in Week two. They're trying to get him the ball.
The question is target quality plus the number of air yards.
Those things could fluctuate week to week and be a
general headache a fantasy football fun Anyway, those are my
(30:33):
five realities we're gonna have to adjust to here in
twenty twenty five. In the meantime, Patrick, maybe you can
help everybody relax a little.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
Bit Well, that's the thing, Mark, because you use that
word fun and Week three in the NFL showed us
that anything can happen.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
And we always tell people, you know.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
To be hopeful for future aspirations, and it's very funny
that we use a word like aspirations, which also means
to literally be able to breathe, to draw breath. Something
that becomes increasingly difficult because I have to rely on
fantasy football players for our team and they fail me consistently,
like you.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
Tyler Warren.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
Oh, I'm six five, two hundred and fifty five pounds.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
I'm versable.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
I could do a whole bunch of things get me
fantasy points. Tyler Warren, I do not want to look
at you on the field blocking for Jonathan Taylor while
he's the RB one. How does that help me when
Jonathan Taylor is on a different team. So here's what
I'm going to do, Tyler Warren. I don't need your versatility.
I'm gonna make you versatile for other people, but not
for my team, because my team needs guys who get
(31:31):
the ball in the paint.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
Oh man, you got you got it all wrong with
this young rom dude. This guy is out there battling
through a toe injury. Man, it reminds me of the
time that I was out there playing pick up on
thirty eighth Street down there in Newport, and I hurt
my toe, and at that point it was tough to
go toes to the nose bra. So I was sitting
(31:54):
there and sometimes I had to take a little bit
of a siesta. That's what the Colts did. Mat They
knew like they got a big trip coming up. They
gotta play the La Rams. They gotta get all dialed in.
They gotta be on top of their game. Dude, they
knew they were playing Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Man.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
It's like looking out there, you know, you paddle out
to the river jetties and you're like, yeah, dude, this
this lake, this this set is like flat as Kansas. Bro,
I'm not even gonna paddle out there. That's exactly what happened. Now,
he's got a huge contest coming up against the Rams.
Dude's gonna be ready to deliver. So when it comes
to my young grom Tyler Warren.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
You got a cube, bro. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
It just makes sense for the coast to prioritize their
future outcomes. It's not all necessarily about me, you know,
but Malik Neighbors should make.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
It about him.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
I'm looking back and I'm thinking about week one, where
Malik Neighbors will tell anybody and everybody he needs the ball.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
He's Shawn with his coach. And then I'm watching.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Play against the Kansas City Chiefs and it's just consigned
to the fact that the offense is not going to
run for him. And it's just you get seven points,
seven Fantasy points.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Through two games where I'm drafting Melik Neighbors in the
top ten.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
No, you get into everybody's office and you tell them, Malik.
You walk to the other team and you tell them, hey,
I don't want to see two defenders be competitive, don't
be scare to compete it.
Speaker 4 (33:14):
Man, Dude, your anger is justified, but it's going at
the wrong dude. Man, that guy like it's not really
Malik's fault, but that guy kept rolling with this cornball
named Russell Wilson, and he's like, dude, why are you
hanging with that koop Man? That guy is no good
for you. You got to make a break from him.
And now this week it's been announced just today, man
(33:37):
like oh Man, Jackson Dart is gonna be out there.
He's going to be playing with the Melik neighbors, and
now all of a sudden, the neighborhood is completely changed. Man,
this is going to be a vastly different team. We
can all relax. Nobody's got to be on edge. We
got cool vibes. Everybody's chilling, Like Russell was just like,
(33:59):
you know, like if you're paddling out and somebody's dad's
out there and he's like, man, this would be a
lot better.
Speaker 3 (34:05):
This guy wasn't here.
Speaker 4 (34:06):
Now that guy's gone, we can go out there and
enjoy the peace and tranquility that Jackson Dart is going
to deliver. My league neighbors is now going to have
his best game of the season. Believe that, because when
it comes to the league, you gotta chill bru.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
I should chill on everybody. I should chill on the Giants,
chill on Russ in general.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
It's not like anybody that used to play in that
offense is thriving elsewhere right now.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
But you know who isn't thriving Saquon Barkley.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
I draft Saquon Barkley number one overall because you run
for two thousand yards one year that means you run
for two thousand.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Yards for me. And I'm looking at the.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Video and oh, Jalen Hurts and aj Brown or celebrate.
They're talking about being more aggressive. No, you need to
be more aggressive and stop them. Throwing the ball is
bad unless it's to you.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
Twenty six.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
So you go to coach Patulo, you go to coach Sirianni,
and you're like, hey, all these changes that these guys
are talking about, these big flashy points score for the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
No, put the ball in my billy, let me get it.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
I get it, man.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
Like, there's some times that those things are just so devastating.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
Man.
Speaker 4 (35:10):
Like, Ah, the other day, man, I loaded up the
West Fiala drive all the way down to San Clemente.
We're going to go check out T Street see if
it was going to be as good as advertised, and
it just wasn't.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
And that's just how it happens.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
Like T Street still dominates, that place is still super chill,
super killer, but on that day, it wasn't the.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
Day to be there.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
Similarly, man, last week, Saquon Barkley ran into a little
bit of a buzz song against the La Rams, like
that guy and harang the La Rams so many times
that they just came out firing.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
Those guys were like.
Speaker 4 (35:46):
There's no way we're going to go out there and
let Saquon beat us. We'll let DeVonta Smith, We'll let
aj Brown beat us, but for once in our lives,
we're not going to allow Saquon to go out there
and just dominate us like he's been doing over and
over again. And that's the thing. So this week, man,
you just got to have big trust. Like next time
somebody's like, hey man, you want to drive down to
(36:07):
sc down to San Clemente, maybe go to Lowers, maybe
go to T Street, I'm gonna be like, of course, man,
because I know that it's usually pretty good.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
One day it was bad.
Speaker 4 (36:17):
I can't let that affect my perception of it overall.
And that's the way that you got to take it
with Saquon Barkley. So when it comes to my dude' Saquon,
you got a chill bro.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
I shall thank you so much on record. In fact,
we're all gonna chill. We're gonna chill on everybody.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
We're not gonna tweet at players and blame them for
the fantasy outcomes because Ultimately, we're the.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
Ones they pick the team. Are you an NFL super fan?
Speaker 2 (36:38):

Fan of the Year today.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
That's a great award. It sound for us to give
one of our greatest awards.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
Cardio King of the Week for Week three goes to
a late interrot from Monday Night Football, Zay Flowers. Zay
was tracked running one and thirty three yards around M
and T Bank Stadium last night. Thirty three routes got
targeted on only three of them, finished with two catches
thirteen yards and a big old grown from.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
His fantasy managers.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Not great, Zay, the Ravens loss, but at least you
got some cardio in here. On NFL Fantasy Live, it's
time for no stats, just vibes, as we put away
all statistical in interpretations and decide to just make some
thoughts available to you that are just on the vibrations
of the universe.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Out of Rik, why don't you lead us off?
Speaker 4 (37:40):
Well, I'm going to say that the Cleveland Browns are
going to upset the Detroit Lions this week. And I
said this in our production meeting, and then everybody got
mad at me, like why why are you don I'm like,
the whole segment is no stats, just vibes.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
That's the vibe that I get.
Speaker 4 (37:54):
I'm sorry, I was I thought I was playing it,
But quin Shawn Jenkins is somebody that I'm really impressed
with over the last couple of weeks. Anybody who managed
to go out there and snag him in fantasy drafts.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
I know there were people.
Speaker 4 (38:05):
We had a lot of questions about it going into
the draft season back in August, and I'm like, listen, like,
if you have a spot, if you're a big enough
roster and you have an opportunity to grab Judkins, you
never know, it's one of those lottery tickets that's starting
to pay off.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
At least it looks that way right now.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
I saw a lot of surprises. Who knows, Marcus, they'll
stash just ups all the vibes right now.
Speaker 5 (38:22):
I mean Vegas is full of vibes, right, I mean
you just just vibing in things and hoping that that
things come up well for you.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Geo Smith is a QB one.
Speaker 5 (38:29):
It's just based on vibes, right, Like, I mean, they're
throwing the ball a ton, partially because they just can't.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Run the ball volume volume volume. This is it that
you know.
Speaker 5 (38:37):
I think Geno Smith's gonna go out there and just
completely light it up. But he's gonna throw the ball
about thirty five forty times a game. That's the way
this offense has had to operate so far, in part
because the offensive line has been bad. We seen Ashton
Gent can't get going, but also because the defense is
giving up yards and points. The I iNTS will happen, absolutely,
But he does have two quality pass catchers and Brock
(38:58):
Bauers and Jacoby Myers. We saw Trait Tucker have a
big game last week. Dante Thornton another guy who could
be kind of a contributor in that passing game. So
you know you're gonna be cens gonna be one those
states a the end of the year. It'd be like Wow,
Geno Smith was like QB twelve like, how did that happen?
Speaker 1 (39:12):
I'm telling you it's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
I've got a vibrational frequency and it's coming out of
New Jersey. I don't think Jackson Dart is going to
be the answer to your problems on your fantasy roster.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
With regards to some Giants.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
It's gonna These things take time and to instantly insert
Jackson Dart in a chaotic situation. And I love looking
back at all the fun and the wide open spaces
in the preseason. The opportunities against the Chargers aren't necessarily
going to be like this, And I know we look
back on the playoff win against the Minnesota Vikings finally,
but like the defining moment of this era for the
(39:46):
Giants is a conversation in the front office with the
owner about a player that will ultimately go somewhere else
and win the Super Bowl. I think it's gonna take
more than that to save the.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
New York Giants.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
No stats, just vibes here on this segment of NFL
Fantasy Live.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
When we come back.
Speaker 2 (40:01):
There's no more thrilling way to win in the NFL
than a walk off field goal block. But in fantasy football,
sometimes the most uneventful plays can be game winners. Your
epic tales of victory coming up next on the NFL
Fans Who Love Soccer Victory Tuesday, as you celebrate the
(40:22):
great moments that led to your victories, we will discuss
and celebrate them right here with you. The first step
from gott Rice trusting Montgomery to get twenty plus and
he won by two.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Love it. He should be rewarded.
Speaker 4 (40:35):
I know a lot of people coming into the season
we're apprehensive about taking David Montgomery, not only because of
the change and the coordinator positions, but also because the
offensive line had some turnover too. But the Lions have
really been checking the boxes on a lot of those stuff.
They do a really nice job of replacing some of
the departed people.
Speaker 1 (40:50):
The boss killer, drafting Jonathan Taylor.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
And leaving not by light. You know, you know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (40:55):
Yeah, no, absolutely everything's on the up and up here.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
Best decision he ever made, hopefully, I mean it's a
good decision.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
There's probably some other good ones in there. That's a
pretty solid decision. Though.
Speaker 5 (41:06):
Yeah, I hope that's not the best decision you ever made.
Otherwise you needs to probably venture out a little bit more.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
Josh playing the Vikings d over the Chiefs d and
dropping the Chiefs to Waivers Sunday so.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
No one could play it. That's hater, Josh, Oh, that's

Speaker 4 (41:20):
