Speaker 1 (00:00):
Wow, hey everybody, it's Monday, August eleventh, twenty twenty five.
Welcome to the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast, where we can't
be back because we never left. It's me and your man,
nam G Marcus, graduated by Michael Florio and Lakwan Jones.

(00:22):
We have football like substance on television. Yes, we're right.
It's like there's football ish things happening, for sure.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
I spent the plane ride back yesterday watching like the
condensed versions of games, so like that's how you know
it's football season again.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
I did throw on the guy you paid for the
Wi Fi on the plane, and then did some streaming
and I watched the little bits of there was a
Chargers and Saints. Although you watch the live I was.
I was until you know, because you guys know this.
We'll talk about this for the Fantasy Football Exploring can.
It's a great time. It's a wonderful time. You don't
really get a whole lot of sleep, so I was

(00:57):
sort of watching it and sort of nodding off all.
I did learn that camp Akers is a Saint. I
don't think I knew that.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Wow, yeah, I saw that and I thought of him
right away.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, immediately thought of you.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Well, Sean McVay and him will be reuniting this week
for a joint practice maybe, so we shall see how
that knows.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
But it's a good time. And Canton, absolutely you were missed, sir.
A number of people asked us about you, so a
good time was had in your honor.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Yeah, man, I had family obligations, but you know, it's
good to be loved, you know, and then had that
people reach out and say, hey, where the heck are you? Man?
The whole cruise here, where are you at?

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Next year we'll see if I spend there all right.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Shout out to Bob Long though and the entire Lung family.
They put on a such a great venue and they
bring an entire economy to his hometown of Camp, which
shout out to you man.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Absolutely, Like Canton, I know, usually pops off certainly one
week a year for the Hall of Fame. You can
make it two weekends a year now with the Fantasy
Football Expo, So if you've never been, definitely make your plans.
I know it's scheduled for late July for next year,
so you know, just kind of block off that time
on the calendar.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Part of the Fantasy Football Expo is doing drafts. Florio
and I were in The King's Classic Draft, which is
broken up into a couple of different leagues. One is
a snake draft, one is an auction draft. I did
the snake, you did the auction. We'll talk about these
teams over the next few days. We'll talk Snake today,
we'll talk the auction today.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
The auctioneer real was a real life auctioneer. Shit is
hard to keep up.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Legit, like when you see movies and TV with like
cattle auctioneers and like how they done that.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
The video of the guy going off was he was
not breathing.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Speed. He was Yeah, he was a liar.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
So yeah, we will get to the We'll get to
a little bit of The King's Classic Draft to a
little bit later on in the show. They're gonna start
with some news and yeah, we're just gonna we're gonna
move this up here. We're gonna we're gonna have some
alterations on the fly.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Oh we're starting off toxic.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
I see, well still because it's the most recent news
and also yeah, because I want to poke you in
the ridge a little bit. Matthew Stafford. The story was.
The reports were he was going to be back working
out over the weekend, and the Rams were hoping he
would practice on Monday. Instead, I saw a post on

(03:14):
Blue Sky featuring what, to my eyes look like an
airstream trailer. But apparently he is getting some manner of
treatment inside. No one knows what. There were a lot
of Aaron Rodgers Oscarwia jokes flying across social media. I'm
I would say. Then I say this in all seriousness, lakon.
I wasn't super worried about Matthew Stafford's back. Like, I

(03:37):
get it, he's thirty seven years old. He's got a
swore back, Like I got a swore back.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
I am.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
I am pull my neck when I sneeze years old, right,
So like I'm not really laughing at dude. When I
saw that he's going into a specially designed trailer that
they brought to camp, then I got a little bit concern.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
How are you feeling.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
I'm good, I'm unworried, unfazed because him doing whatever it
takes to get back on the field week one is
the main goal, like it is rolled to the super Bowl.
Like you see our squad, long as we're healthy, we're
getting to the big dance, and again it's been thirty
years for forty nine play.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Hang on if if was doing a lot of heavy
lifting in that sentence. What we're talking about now, we're
talking about your quarterback in a trailer with like crystals.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
It's a healing healing lights, it's a healing pot. If
you know, you know, you look at Goku when he
got you know, a beat up from when they get
a fewer hits than Matthew for real, Goku came back
to them and started putting belt to butt. Man, So
I think that's what's going to happen week one.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
It's like Batman when after Baine, he's just just a
bunch of sit ups.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Man.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
I will admit I'm more worried now than I was
because I remember last week. I was like, I'm not worried,
but if this lingers on the next week he's not practicing,
I'm going to be worried. And everything was like he's
going to be back, and now he's not. Look if
he's out tomorrow. Cool, this was just a one day thing.
But how long does this have to linger before you
are worried?

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Look?

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Man, two more weeks If we are still in this
boat of not practicing, and the week actual week, like
week one, is when I would start to panic and
be like, oh god, we have to start Jimmy Garoppolo, Like,
oh god, this is going to be bad. I rather
Stenton Bennett going there than a Jimmy Garoppolo. Yet I
do look a lot better than last year's preseason, stepping

(05:22):
up for his age.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
So he's ready to take all the.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
I know Jimmy Garoppolo is an easy punchline, right, I know.
I know that. I know that, But he did lead
a team to multiple NFC championship games and a Super Bowl.
I get it. He overthrew Emmanuel Sanders because he had
his eyes closed when he was slinging the ball downfield.
But at least through the regular season, Jimmy Garoppolo can

(05:50):
hold you down and keep you competitive. You can't like
you don't. I know you're I know RB the RB
three and you was like we should start sets in Ben,
And I'm telling you you don't want to do that. Man.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
What about for the receivers though, because like in the
in the draft, this weekend we saw Pooka fall in
a fourteen team league.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
I got felt around two got him another thirteen.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, he is sliding because of the Stafford things, So
I don't know if I would let him slide. Like
I'm definitely taking the leagueighbors over him. But then after
that it gets to be a question because I like
Pooko over everyone else.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
I'm still taking Pooko over A. J.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Brown.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
I'm still taking Pooko over Drake Lendon. I'm still taking
Pooko over Brian Thomas Jr. So what are we really
talking about? If he falls past those guys, you're stealing
him because at the end of the day, if it
is Jimmy g you're gonna have the receiver suffer a
little bit on the terms that we don't have that
deep off. But Pooka at least he has yards out
there to catch in his ability.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
I worry much more about Davonta and exactly Davante will be.
I've kind here before I get killed again.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
I have shied away because so I say this mostly joking,
but a little bit seriously, does your DeVante concern have
anything to do with the fact that he and Jimmy
just didn't get along in Vegas a little?

Speaker 2 (07:00):
But to me, it's more that I think the volume
would like it's a hundred. Puoka is always going to
be your top target. He could win after the catch.
He specializes in that, whereas Devonte never really has. And
I think DeVante is more touchdown dependent than Puca. And
if you take Stafford away, I don't care who the
quarterback is, you're gonna score less touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
To my opinion, Yeah, that's probably true. So obviously we
will continue to monitor this, partially because it is a big,
big deal cross fantasy, and partially because it just makes
la Quan uncomfortable elsewhere around the leading Rashad White suffered
a groin injury. He's supposed to undergo tests for that.
Bucky Irving I would say he's the new hotness across
fantasy because people have been on the Bucky Irving train

(07:41):
for a while. But with this, and you know, sort
of monitoring how long Rashad White maybe out now. Granted
we're still a couple weeks away from the season started Florida.
Will how high are you willing to take Bucky Irving?

Speaker 2 (07:53):
I really like Bucky in round two, Like, I'm not
taking him over Devon a Chan because that is my
guy this year. But right now, I have him ranked
at RBS Evan and I want to put him higher.
But I'm going to tell you the six running backs
i've ahead of him. You guys, tell me if you
would take him over any of them, the obvious three
of Bijon, Gibbs and sake On like they're the first
round guys. Then I have a chan Henry and CMC.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Josh Jacobs.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Yeah, I don't take it Josh over.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
But are you taking any Would you put Bucky over
any of those three?

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Absolutely? No, I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
No, you could put j J. I don't like you
could put him in that tier. He's a workorse. I
like Jacobs. I do have him a little bit lower though,
all right, Bucky catches somebody.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Bucky will catch the ball. Yeah, Josh Jacobs been in
the leak for like eleventy billion years and he finally
caught his first touchdown last year.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
But how many touchdowns did he have? There's no other
back back up there.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Marshall Lloyd can't stay health.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Marshall Lloyd can't stay health.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Unfortunately, Emmanuel Wilson's explosive, but he ain't Josh Jacobs.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
The thing is, though, there's a lot of running backs
in that range, like like Chase Brown, Kyen Williams. Like
it's a good range to get a running back.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Yeah, I like it. I just don't like Bucky that high.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
I can't. I'm starting to come around to it though,
just because everything you read out of Tampa is how
much they love him and how much they want to
get him more work. So it it. It does feel
like Rashad White is going to be much more of
a background figure.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
They made him play and Bucky sat out, you know,
Like to me, I was like, that's a big, big
look bad.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Though he didn't look bad in his opportunity.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
I think he's a bad player. I just think Bucky
Everything's a better player. Yea. What it is? Uh? In
Indianapolis Anthony Richardson right now day to day where they
dislocated Pinky. It's funny because I I had the game
on in the background, but I'm like doing things and
like you know, making dinner or whatever in the kitchen,
and then like I'm not watching the screen, and then
I just hear Anthony Richardson being helped off the field,

(09:43):
and I'm like what yeah, And then you Florio sent
us the picture of his pinky making it an unscheduled
right turn. Brian Baldinger, who we love, but yeah, I
mean he's got a finger like from his playing days.
They just continually I was gonna.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Tweet that he pulled the Baldy, but I was like,
bald he might not want that, so I didn't tweet it.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Yeah, now I just said it on the show show,
So go luck with that, Lakwan. I know, we like
Anthony Richardson potentially for his ceiling. We like Daniel Jones
potentially for what he could mean for the pass catchers.
But you know, depending on how this injury goes, Any
interest in drafting Daniel Jones anywhere?

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Absolutely, I've been saying draft Daniel Jones and bestball leagues
for the last two months, like we kind of already
seen how this is panning out. And like with that
happening in the preseason game where again you didn't even
turn your head right brother, with the blitz liability out.
You can't stand flat flo When have you ever been
cumftable flat? But you need to get in and out
of that pocket you're supposed to.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
But also Colts, maybe maybe don't leave an edge rusher unblocked.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
That Yeah, I love Tyler Warren.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
He just ran right, but there were multiple people to
get the ball. Multiple people weren't fault in that situe.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Yeah, it was just an ugly car crash. But the
way the injuries are starting to pole now, like this
is just another one that we have to add to
the list. This is more reps that he's missing, you know,
like I know he's going to start the first half,
you know, in this next preseason game, but you still
have Daniel Jones that's starting to heat up and it's
starting to look like he's going to be the Week
one starter. So this obviously benefits the pass catcher Shosh downs.

(11:16):
When you look at Daniel Jones his connection towards the slot,
he has the highest passer rating since twenty twenty two
when targeting in the slot. When you look at Tyler Warren,
he looked at so smooth and in and out of
his routes and being available as a target, like this
is something that they were missing last year. And Daniel
Jones just looks like he could take the captain and
take the keys and run away the run away with it.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
I still think Anthon Richardson starts Week one. Personally, I
think I think if you pull the plug on Richardson,
you're giving up on him. Yeah, and there they're still
invested in him. I think you could always make the
move to Daniel Jones. I think it's a lot harder
to start Jones and then go back to Richardson.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
I think it's fair. Although they showed like last year
that they yeah, and they're about.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
To say they admitted it, but this is it. And
from all reports, Anthony Richardson has been out playing Jones.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
That's what the beat reporters, which sort of made me upset,
you know, on his behalf that he got hurt and
didn't get to play it because everything had been really
positive about Anthony Richardson and he just wasn't in there
very long. Although to your point, Laukwan, those reps, man,
they continue to be valuable for a guy who didn't
play that much, you know, didn't have a long college

(12:23):
career and to this point through two NFL season still
has not attempted four hundred total passes yet insane.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
My biggest takeaway though, was both quarterbacks were locked in
on Tyler Warren.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
It didn't matter who was absolutely you know what, and
arrows pointing up.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
So it's funny because I you know, I've told you
guys that in terms of talent, I liked Warren over Loveland.
I was drafting Loveland early because I felt like Ben
Johnson had a plan and then watching them like, no,
this is why I like Tyler Warren. This is exactly
so I'm back. I'm back.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
He is the function of the offense.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Just love to see it.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Time is a flat circle. The last bit of news
yere James Cook suited up over the weekend. It's funny
because I remember seeing like a social media like a
TikTok or something like that, and it was James Cook
like in uniform, and I'm like, wait, is this today
or is this like old old stuff? He did suit
up and he decided to not participate. Told the Sean

(13:15):
McDermott that I would like to be excluded from this
football business.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Yeah, the tight ends played, but like that was kind
of it.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Yeah. Ty Johnson went out, had a pretty good, you
know it, with a lot of opportunity, but looked pretty
good with his opportunity. Ray Davis showed us that in
case something happens with Tyler Bass that he can come
in and kick extra points. But you, Floria, as somebody
who follows this team very closely, and I'm sure you're
watching the James Cook contract situation. At what point should

(13:46):
fantasy folks be worried about him?

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Uh? I think I think we have like another two
weeks to go, because even like I know I said
this with Terry McLaurin as well, I think it's even
different for James Cook because the running back position is,
you know, like he's got the same old exact, same
old line. It's Josh Allen again. It's the same oc
and it's not like with wide receivers where you want

(14:09):
that timing down. I will say this though, like RB thirteen,
I have him ranked at RB fourteen. I was liking
to take James Cook when he was starting to slide,
but now we're getting into real drafts and he's starting
to I tend to like to wait a little bit
more and get like Trevon Henderson or DeAndre Swift or
something like that. But I have James Cook ranked exactly

(14:30):
where he's going, So I'm still on board with that.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
All right? Are you cool with RB thirteen?

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Yeah, I'm cool with that. I mean, look at the
opportunities that Joe Brady gave him on the goal line,
so that's still going to be there. The Bills are
still a high power offense. So I just look at like,
if you're gonna be chasing James Cook, you're changing for
the opportunity for him to score a lot of touchdowns again.
So I think Ray Davis he didn't put anything out
there that was like super exciting other than him kicking
a field goal.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Well that was kind of cool though.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
That was kind of cool.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Like it's just like overall you're looking at like how
this backfield is looking like it Stu James Cook, Like,
I think he's very secure in his position and his
role in the offense, and I think Joe Brady and
the rest of the team understand that. So I think
he's going to stand on business until they cut that
check and I'm standing away.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Give them the Kiren contract please, there, that's what I want.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
There you go, I mean draft Ray Davis though, if
you he does want theirn, he doesn't want the KIRN.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
He wants the Siren, didn't want the Kiren contract we
all want.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
I think he is starting to realize.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Like he doesn't have the same leverage that Terry McLaurin does. No,
he does not. The Bills could just hey, Ray Davis
leverage though, I think so, because he is the passing attack. Yeah,
have you seen the rest of that? I mean, look,
Deebo is not necessarily going to be the dude who
just now elevates you like that, right, Loup McCaffrey ain't right.
Let me look at that wide receiver.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Commanders are top five and cat next year, just front
loaded deal and then when you have to pay Jayden
and it'll be off the books. You know, they got.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Michael Gallop though he's back man like favor twenty twenty two.
Marcus would have been all about that because you know
us MG's got to stick together, Marcus Graham, Michael Gallup,
we just got to stick together like that. We're gonna
take a quick break. We'd got back. We'll talk about
what we saw in week one of the preseason, how
we felt about it, and you know, I don't know,
we'll make some stuff up. Stick around. Got more of

(16:13):
the NFL Fantasy Football podcast coming up. So the first
week of the preseason, first full week of the preseason,
I guess is in the book. So does that mean,
the Hall of Fame game is.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
That like week zero week zo kind of in my opinion.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
I used to you know, used to cover a lot
of high school football, and like, you know, most high
school areas have like a week zero. Ike, once year
saw a week double zero. I'm like, why are we doing?

Speaker 2 (16:37):
College does week zero two?

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yeah, college is week zero two, which is just wild.
Just call it all week one. It's just week one.
It's just week one. If you got to make it
in week twenty or whatever at the end, like that's
just what it is. That's neither here nor there. A
few stories from the preseason that sort of caught our eye,
and it's all very rookie heavy from this first week.
Not to say that there weren't. Some veterans played well,

(17:00):
but the rookies definitely I think caught our attention. The
first one being Shadur Sanders a couple of touchdown passes
against the Panthers. You and I were there was a
Friday night party at the Expo in downtown Canton, and
at one point the DJ sort of made a joke about, hey,
do you guys like football? Because literally everyone at the
party was staring up at the big screen watching Shador
lead a drive against Carolina, like the whole conversation style.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Show Shadur and Bryce like it was back and forth
that game.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
It was kind of back and forth in that game, Lakwan.
When you look at this Browns quarterback situation, who should
be the QB one and will that person align with
what we want as fantasy managers.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Joe Flacco. Pretty Flacco has to be to the starter.
But I do think Shador put good things on tape.
But I need David Nijoku, Jerry Judy, Deontay Johnson to
be fantasy relevant at least for the big portion of
the fantasy season. So I think looking at Shador if
he comes in like later in the season, they've seen
enough Joe Flacco, they're losing games. I think we'll still

(18:02):
be okay with Sanders coming in, but I need those
big bumps, like because I have a lot of drafts
with David the Joku and Jerry Judy. So it's like,
if you're going to be starting Week one, you want wins.
You want to go out there with Joe Flacco. That
could be done. But if they start losing, okay, you
put in Sanders. You don't pivot to Dylan Gabriel or
try to get Kenny Pickett back into the mix, because

(18:23):
you're just gonna be throwing the bounce off for us
fantasy managers of actual quarterbacks that can step up and
get the ball to the pass catchers. That's just my team.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
Okay, So then buy that analysis. What week this should do?
Or start week.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Seven eight?

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Wonder the funny thing about that is like, we'll like
play Sanders, don't play Gabriel, But Gabriel was draft the
two rounds earlier players mess up. Yeah, yeah, I think
Sanders is the better of them.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
I think so too. I mean, we don't have to
relitigate the whole Shore Sanders draft situation. I think, for
my money, and you and I have talked about this
just privately, I think it should just be a competition
between Dylan Gabriel and Shudure Sanders. Me too, because no
one expects anything from the Browns this year. No, no

(19:10):
one does. And we saw Joe Flacco last year. I
remember they pulled the plug in Indianapolis on Anthony Richardson.
They put in Joe Flacco. After a few weeks they're like,
oh wait, this ain't that same Joe Flacco no more
and they went back to Anthony Richardson. Like, I don't
know why we expected to be light years better. I mean,
he had that great end of season run I know
with the Browns two years ago, although he was a

(19:32):
dumpster fire in the playoffs. Yeah, Like, why why would
you waste half a year of one of your two
rookie quarterbacks without giving them a shot its.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Fifth year option on any of them. This is the
brown schedule to open up the Bengals. Maybe they win
that one, but the Bengals are like, we don't want
to come out like where the Bengals every week.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
I would say they would win it just because the
Bengals at the start of the sea last year.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Yeah, hey, Joe Barrow and jamar Ches played in the
preseason the most snaps they played in any preseason together.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
And they look form. Then they get the Ravens, Packers, Lions, Vikings, Like,
you could be zero and five regardless of who the
quarterback is there. You can starts like regardless of what
we want I do think, I.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Mean, but this is one of those things where what
is well, what is best at least for what I
think is best for the teams I think what's best
for the team is just let your young guys go
because you've either you figure out what you got him,
maybe you got something, or if it's that they're not good,
you're back in position to get another quart archer Manning. Oh,
by the way, I think like arch madness is on hold.

(20:41):
If you saw Archie Manning saying Archie is gonna go
back to.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
School, yeah, well, who knows. I mean, he's still a kid.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Here's the thing. When your grandfather is Archie, when your
uncles are Peyton and Eli, the NFL will always be there.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
I told you Saints fans, like, we could do this
all day next year too.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
I love the Captain America. I can do this all day,
Like what are we doing? But it was interesting to
watch the door. He definitely went out and played well.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Uh, you know, he looks better when I rewatched it.
Then I saw the flashes like handling pressure in the pocket,
the placement like putting it between defenders. I was like,
this looks like a kid that deserves reps in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
Well, and I was having a conversation with somebody on
Friday night and talking about how my big knocks on
trade were one he held the ball too long and two,
I will I felt like he should have run more,
and like those words were barely out of my mouth
and I look up into scrambling for like, like this
is what I've been asking for.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
He was moving.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Man.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Yeah, I like likes Bryce.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
I love Bryce, and like you when you see both
of these quarterbacks moving sideline as silent, keeping their eyes
downfield and finding the play the big play. Bryce was
like moving, Bryce is directing. There's so much confidence in
him right now to where like you have to look
at him in a different light. Like I said on
the radio this past weekend that Bryce Young has the
chance to be a top twelve fantasy quarterback because of

(21:59):
the mobility that he is showing in the confidence of
him stepping up and getting light on his feet and
going upfield. He can eclipse four hundred rushing yards easy.
He can eclipse five hundred yards easy if he has
to scramble rate which was above eight percent, which is high.
So it's like you're looking at Bryce Young now as
a guy that's going in the deep later of drafts.
He can be an easy QB too. If you have

(22:21):
a risky QB one to put on.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Part of why he was so good for fantasy at
the end of the season was because he was running
a ball. I mean, if he had a game with
two rushing touchdowns, like obviously that's sort of an outlier,
but he was running with.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
The ball confidence the show's confidence.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
The other part is, once upon a time we gave
quarterbacks three years to try to develop them.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
What a concept. That.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
Wow, that doesn't really happen anymore. Like, especially if you
draft the guy in the first round, either he's good
in year one or.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Young was a cult. They would have benched him by now,
you know.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
I mean, let's not forget that the Panthers benched him too. Yea.
So I mean, you know, handshake meme. Cam Ward, who
is easily the least talked about number one overall pick
in the any history of any sport. Five of eight
sixty seven yards against the Bucks, I mean, not spectacular,
but you know, I think a lot of people are
high on cam Ward this year, Florida, where are you overall?

(23:13):
On the Titans offense?

Speaker 2 (23:14):
I Calvin Ridley is like a mustraft for me this year.
We saw it on look. It was only eight pass attempts,
but three went to Calvin Ridley, and like one, I
love that they're even without dhout there. They're not forcing
Ridley to play the X. They're like you were playing
at the Y because that's where you are more comfortable
and stuff. But he had to catch and run. It
was a he had won in tight coverage. Cam Ward

(23:36):
is going to be able to get the most out
of Calvin Ridley because one, I think he's better than
the quarterbacks they had last year, but two, he has
a really strong arm down field and he is not
afraid there is no throw on the field. He does
not think he could make Calvin Ridley could create this
much separation and Ward is like, I could fit it
in there. So I think that he's going to get

(23:57):
pepperedon targets. But I think I know you like him
as well. Chicken coonco a cop is a sleeper tight
end for me, I will say after that, I don't
really want anything to do with the past or the
passing game. I know you guys like, uh, let's go.
He was he was the fourth wide receiver in preseason.
That scares me a little.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
Tyler luck Lockett he could be the underneath security blanket.
And same thing with Chigs and like the one thing
that cam did is just show the pocket presence like
he is cool, calm, collect he does not care. And
the thing is he has that effet ball we like
to call it Josh Allen, and like he's going to
put it in that window if it's tight or not.
So you just love everything that he put on tape
and the eight pass attempts that he had. But for fantasy,

(24:40):
I'm a little hands off. And it's not because you know,
I don't think that he's gonna be like fantasy relevant
in year one. I'm more interested in Calvin Ridley and
Chicago and Tyler Lockett though, so I'm looking at him
more so as like year one, he could possibly be
like a top twenty, you know, quarterback in fantasy and
then probably break into the top fifteen if things are
going north, because he has a shot at what we

(25:01):
just saw of cracking four thousand yards Colvin Ridley, he
is upward in that twelve hundred yard mark. If cam
Ward plays like how he did in.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Preseason, yeah, I think it'd be interesting. I think a
lot of people are staying like just because one the
Titans project to not be a good team this year,
and I don't know that the week's weak ceiling is
going to be high.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Yeah, he doesn't give me QB one vibes yet not yet,
not yet.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
It's early. Jackson Dark had a touchdown pass also led
the Giants in rushing, which doesn't seem great for the Giants.
But anyway, we talked about Shuduah Sanders and when he
might possibly start. Look on, do you think we will
see a Jackson Dart start during the regular season.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
It gets cold in December and that's when the kitchen
is closed for Russell Wilson. So I do think it's
going to be backing when Jackson Dark comes in. But
if they start losing games and Russ is not cooking,
I can see Jackson Dart coming in a little bit early.
Because again, another quarterback that came in with confidence, Like
we didn't see much you know him in the passing game,
but him leading team in rushing yards is not anything
to look away from because he ain't scared to run

(26:00):
out of that pocket and get the yardage. So that
gives him the rushing upside, and that gives us fantasy
managers more of a scope of what he can bring
to the table. For this offense. So I do think
that Jackson Dart he could be starting anywhere between, like
the back end of the season. Once the end of
October hits. That's usually Waned kitchen closes for Russell.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
I mean, it's when Russ starts doing door dash, door dash,
and you know, he starts for getting recipes and he's
a little sluggish.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Yeah, where does Jamis fit into all this?

Speaker 2 (26:29):
I think Jamis is going to be your number two
on game days, Like, in case anything happens to Russ,
Jamis will be the one to come in. Uh. If
Russ gets hurt early in the year, I could also
see Jamis coming in for that. But I do agree.
I think I think there's a point where if the
Giants aren't competing or they're falling out of the race,
then they go I don't think they go to Jamis.
I think they go to Jackson Dart, but early. I'm

(26:51):
also saying this and that, like, I think the Giants
are going to surprise people this year. I think they
have a ton of talent on defense. D Line is
going to make life a nightmare for a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Barely played and was causing so much havoc and I'm like, yo,
it is d line has to be top three.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
But yes, I said on Fantasy last day, I think
they're a big sleeper defense. But I think on offense too,
they have more talent than we'd like to give them
credit for. And like last year they had no quarterback,
you could argue they have three better quarterbacks than anyone
they had last year.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Yeah, I think you can say that for sure. I
think they still need another pass catcher to help out.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Out wide.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
Let's go Robinson had one hundred and forty targets last
year and turned it into six hundred and ninety nine
yards with Tommy DeVito, Tommy cutlet's out there slinging a rock.
Average depth of target was from me to you.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
So what you know? Veto thing right now is Brian
Dables always like we have four great quarterbacks on the roster.
One of those guys, I love you to death, Tommy,
one of those guys is.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Not like the only I forget about it. I appreciate
that you want to pump up your guys, but like,
let's just a big Jersey man.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
I'm gonna support my Jersey folks.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
Tommy not good.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
Travis Hunter who you know. Obviously, people are very excited
about him for understandable reasons. Played literally all of the
snaps over the.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
Weekend, everything with BTJ. He was there.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
I and we'll talk about Mike my Kings Classic. I
took him in the sixth round. Oh, I feel really
good about that.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
I I think you should, like, I wouldn't be surprised
if by the end of the preseason we're talking about
him going into like the fourth, fifth round, because if
he is going to play this many snaps and he
was playing a lot in the slot, yeah, like he's
gonna eat. I think it is possible that he could
give BTJ legit competition who for like targets, Like everyone

(28:40):
is like, it's all gonna go Betj's way. I don't.
They also want to play defense on the second and
third drives, which indicates to me that offense is and
will be his number one priority.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Yeah, should be.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
I mean, Brian times Change shouldn't fall down in rankings
just because of that. Like, no, I think his ADP
right now is baked into already worrying about Travis, but
it all relies on Trevor mid Lawrence. Like we need
to see Trevor mid Lawrence elevate both of these.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
I was about to ask you the question, I mean,
if you like BTJ and you like Travis Hunter, do
you have to at least sort of consider Trevor Lawrence?
Do you have to at least take the mid out
of his name?

Speaker 3 (29:17):
No?

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Can't he just go by his government name?

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Like no, until he stopped throwing hospital balls as well,
he did.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Yeahs Brian Thomas, Like, listen, he got bet.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Just who Trevor mid Lawrence is. He has to turn
it up a notch. But I think with adding Travis Hunter,
it does elevate somewhat of an interest to remove the
mid an interest, I'm not removing it, but it's there.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
I think he's kind of like how you feel about
Bryce Young, Like he deserves to go where he's getting drafted.
But if things break right, I could see Trevor Lawrence.
He's never gonna be a high end QB one, but
I could see him being like finishing QB twelve or
something like that. If things break right. It's cute.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
I means done that. I mean like I'm trying to
win fantasy leagues, man, I'm not putting it on Trevor
mid Lawrence is a guy that I want as my
QB one, Like.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
No, no, no, no, no, I mean I have him
like he's like an ADP's like twenty one.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Yeah, he's down there with the Staffords and you know
the Bryce Youngs and Michael Pennix. I'm still taking Michael
Pennix over Trevor mid Lawrence.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
That's just Trevor Lawrence personally. That's just because I like
the weapons.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
That's that's it. That's so funny. All right, Well, okay,
that's a good question though, Right if you look at
Penix versus Lawrence, do you want you know, Drake London,
Jehan Robinson, Kyle Pitts versus Brian Thomas Junior, Trevor, Travis
Hunter and like Brinon String.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Barker Washington and Deianmi Brown.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Well, I'm go looking at the past catchers more than
like because I think the Falcons are gonna run a
lot with with Bijon.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
I do include Bajon because he had seventy two targets.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Like as a pass catcher, I see Pennix having way
more yards than Trevor mid Lawns. And that's just based
on what Zach Robinson wants to do with this offense.
He wants to stretch the field, getting Pitts vertical, getting
Drake London vertical, even getting like the guys like Darnell
Mooney and then Ray Ray McCleod like involved. This offense
is gonna want to be powered downfield. So it's like
I'm going.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
For higher up Michael Pennix.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Zach Brominson said he wants to explore the opportunity of
getting Penis a little bit more.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
That's the way to go.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
But it's interesting. It's just interesting.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
I want to explore get a bigger paycheck. It's good
to want things. R J. Harvey a lot early down Dobbins.
I'm looking right into this.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Got it the calm, the fantasy streets. Well, here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
We are reminded that Sean Payton hates us and sometimes
he is my guy now man, and sometimes he can
be a lying liar who lies because JK. Dobbins was
first on the depth chart with R. A. R J.
Harvey behind him, and it was Dobbin's getting a lot
of the early work in practice. Now it's R. J.
Harvey getting the early work in the game. The preseason
game does this mean r J. Harvey is this guy

(31:59):
or does this mean that we can't trust Sean Payton.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
I'm trusting Sean Payton, and I'm saying this on wax
because what look what he did okay in fantasy opportunities
in terms of a ratio nine to one to JK.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Dobbins.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
JK Dobbins. Half of his snaps there he was pass blocking.
So that's a little nugget for the folks.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Out there that are worried about r. J.

Speaker 3 (32:16):
Harvey not being with the pass block. He is not
going to be there for that because twenty seventeen Alvin
Kamara he wasn't as much the pass block and that's
a Sean Payton system, right. So what I'm looking at
is what r J. Harvey put on tape, and he
bounced it outside too much for a lot of the
Fantasy Streets folks out there, But he was making something
out of nothing. He's not relying on his old line
to create opportunity for him. He got a field eleven

(32:38):
yards where he had about full five of those forty
Whiners defenders all over him. So I'm looking at the
opportunity and his explosiveness, and yes, that was a little jazz.

Speaker 1 (32:47):
I got it. I'm just gonna let it go. But yeah,
I definitely heard your little shot in there. My quarterback's
not in an airstream getting crystals. Read on.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
How many runs you guys got help them?

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Yeah, I mean, look, I just think this is going
to be an ultimately unsatisfying situation because I just don't
think one guy is going to get all the work there.
And then you know there's there's going to be I
promise you there's going to be the Julia McLoughlin game.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
You'll be won.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Yeah, we don't know when it's gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
We I don't think so, man, we don't know. When
you look at Harvey and you compare him to the
rest of the guys on that depth chart, like who
has the college production he has, who has the explosive
I who has the.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Opportunity Dobbins had college production?

Speaker 3 (33:29):
Listen, JK. Dobbins is there to pass and JK. Dobbins
is there for third down.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
My fear is because I'm I'm in on r J. Hartlof.
He's no Trevion Henderson, but I do like RJ. And
and the thing is Sean Payton since twenty seventeen, his
lead running back eighty six targets on average. If you
give him eighty six targets, he's going to outlive his
ADP Williams had fifty catches last year, and here is
Dobbins at the goal line. I do think that.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
Is that's fine. He doesn't need to be on the
goal line the score. He's shown this in college. He's
taking it from his own forty and taking it to
the house.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
But you're stealing as much higher when you're also going to.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
I get that, But there's opportunities there in PPR formats where.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
You're I don't want to live when my running back
needs a twenty yard touchdown to score.

Speaker 1 (34:08):
You know that's sary.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Yeah, I do think, well, the way we look at Gibbs,
the way we look at a Chan, I'm not saying
on the same level of what we've seen from those guys,
but that's exactly what I'm saying, because you have David,
but hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on David Montgomery.
He was applied on the goal line in the red LA.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
That's exactly what it's not.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
But you have to look at it where like these
backups and these one two punches, Like the goal line
area is not the only place they can score, no, no, no, yeah,
but right, it just it's not going to be a side.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
It is a harder way to.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
Had like eighty percent of their goal line carries last year,
but the same year in twenty twenty three, Raheem Moster
was all goal line. Yeah, but that was the most
efficient running back season ever.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
I mean then also, it's a little bit different you know,
catching a past forty yards out and go into the
house against you know, the University of Cincinnati than it
is against the Raiders, the Chiefs, the Chargers, you know
what I mean, It's a little bit of a difference.

(35:13):
I get what you're saying. I totally do. But like
if I got if that's how I have to live,
is like I need my dude to hit a home run.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
You know, it's a ton of target where he's going
in drafts.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
I think he's a Really it's a little bit different
when you're facing Sam Houston State versus the versus host
you forty Niners. Defense is it's gonna.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
Be guys are swarming.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
It's going to be it's gonna be mid this year,
all right. The defense gonna be did you like this year?
Just like did you just did you just walk me
into that? Like I was like, they're gonna be mid
this Year's fine.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
I can own it all right? Uh love that?

Speaker 1 (35:52):
Anybody else that jumped out at you guys?

Speaker 2 (35:54):
Over the weekend we talked about Calvin Ridley. He was
a big one for me. I mean I mentioned his name,
so I'll say travy On Henderson Like Friday night at Canton,
people kept coming up to me and they were like
you like Travon right, I'm like, yeah, did you see
his highlight? I'm like, oh, yeah, that that crazy touchdown
Like no, no, no, he did this. Now he did that,
And I just had to keep going on my phone
and look, but I think he's gonna be the RB
one there. I think he's gonna dominate volume. I I'm

(36:17):
I push him on to RB fifteen, and I'm really
toying with putting him as a top.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
Twelve running back. Look at that.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
I can get on that because you just see it's
just like wow, like you're just in shock. But Tory
Horton in Seattle, he kind of caught my eye and
like they gave him a lot of opportunities and Elijah
Royo as well, like he ran a ton of routes,
and it's like they want to get these young guys
involved in like Tory Horton, like he has some ability
out there to catch, but he's also a d threat
and they have nbs there, so there could be like

(36:44):
a competition there, you know for that deep.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Threat that wide receiver two. Spot right, you're funny.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
We know who the wide receiver two is in Seattle?

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Is he available?

Speaker 3 (36:56):
I mean is he going to be on the field?
And then we'll see I don't know.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
Again, your quarterback is having incense spitched over his back.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
He's in the healing pod.

Speaker 1 (37:05):
He's good.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
You're gonna talk about if it was out there, you'd
have to go knock you're were.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
That would be such a contant opera. I would follow
you around with an iPhone, just like to watch you
knock on the door of Matthew Stafford's healing trailers.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
Are they still at camp where we went?

Speaker 1 (37:21):
That's like, no, there.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
I'll say we go right now. I will drive you.
I'll pull up.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
No serious, they are not loyal Marrimount anymore. No, they
I would say this, I I'm not drafting JJ McCarthy,
but seeing what he did did give me an extra
level of confidence about the other guys there. You know,
I think it's four for seven for thirty yards, only
played twelve snaps.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
He's getting a lot of hype though right now.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Right now, again, it's not enough for me to like out.
Maybe in a two QB league, super flex something like that,
I consider it's one quarterback league. I'm not drafting him.
But we already knew justin Jeffery was gonna be fine.
He's still going top three in every league. But you know,
in case you might have been on the fence about t. J. Hawkinson,
or you might have been on the fence about Jordan
Addison post suspension, I think JJ McCarthy did something to

(38:08):
sort of quiet some of those fears.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
I just trust Ko. You know that part too.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
Jordan Mason doesn't play no more preseason. Get him off
the field just every snap in preseason. Just just leave
Jordan Mason to the side, keep him ready for what.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
I've really I've really come around.

Speaker 1 (38:25):
Why are you why you put Aaron Jones in harms way?

Speaker 3 (38:28):
I mean, I'm just look, they go back to back
in drafts now like It's kind of crazy though, because
he's been moving up like gradually as we got closer
to the season. So it's like keep him ready to
go because even the little increments, a little small taste
that we got, it's like, oh, he is going to

(38:49):
be a problem. He is making a lot of camp
noise right now. So Jordan Mason needs to be the
top guy on your radar. You need to leave the
draft with wow.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
By way, some of the stuff you can hear on
NFL Fantasy Live because it is back today six o'clock Eastern,
three o'clock Pacific, Monday through Friday. We are back on
your televisions from now until they kick us off sometime
in the winter. Take a break, come back. I will
talk about my King's Classic Snake Draft, and you can
either tell me that I'm great or point and laugh.
I feel like it'll be more of the second stick
around for that coming up on the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast.

(39:24):
So over the weekend a the Fantasy Football Expo in Canton, Ohio,
there was the King's Classic Draft, was once upon a
time was just two fourteen team drafts and now has
just expanded into multiple divisions of the King's Classic. There's
a Queen's Classic, there is a Fans Classic. I think
there's still an International Division. I believe the King's Class.

(39:45):
Round thirty four round IDP draft.

Speaker 3 (39:47):
Are they still drafting right now?

Speaker 2 (39:49):
It took, it took.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
It's like five hours.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
The Snake and Auction Draft.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
It's like five hours. Just like Gary Davenport is an
absolute mad man for putting this thing together.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Yo.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
Yeah, it's because they draft you an offense and then
they drafted eleven man defensive roster.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Oh it's not all at once.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
Oh no, I mean they do it all at one time. Okay,
I mean I guess, I guess if you wanted to
first spind a first round pick on Myles Garrett, I
mean I guess you could do that if you like.
I probably wouldn't coommend it, but you can probably do that.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
Where did Travis Hunter go? I'm really Curious's a.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Good question, you know, and good Another question is because
somebody asks us this is like, should Travis Hunter, like,
if you start him at wide receiver, should you get
any points that he would score on defense? And I
affirm yes, I'm affirmed. Yes.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
Fantasy Baseball don't do it the way they do Otani
where they make him two players or you can only
get hit or a pitcher. Because my opinion is he's
a unicorn in real life. He should be a unicorn
in fantasy. Yeah, you should.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
I'm actually with that.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
You should spin him up because he is so No,
I don't like that, man. No, I mean, like, he's
so different, it's amazing, Like you should be able to
get an advantage if you take the chance to to draft.

Speaker 3 (40:51):
I'm only saying that because I'm not drafted. I don't
want to face him and have to deal with that.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
Let's just be honest. Well, in a regular league, don't
have to worry.

Speaker 3 (40:58):
About the I'm just saying like that. Just have it normal,
like a shoeing, a hater of the year.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
Hey hey, uh So in the King's Classic Blanded Division,
I was picked number thirteen out of fourteen. Uh just
a quick rundown of my draft. I started with Puka Akua,
Drake London, George Kittle were my top three.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
DeAndre Swift, David Montgomery next, Travis Hunter in the sixth,
camp Scattaboogle I took him in the seventh. I'm Brandon
Ayuk in the eighth. Just you know, hopefully waiting on
him and see if he can come around. With Tyler
Warren in the ninth. Took two tight ends because you
can flex one of them, so why not. So I
took Tyler Warren, Bo Nicks, Xavier Leaguette, frimto the show, Uh,

(41:42):
Blake Krum, Deontay Johnson, Jayleen McMillan. I took Mason Taylor
UH in the fifteenth and it rounded it out with
Michael Wilson in the sixteenth fourteen team Draft. I like
this team thanks fourteen teen draft against really smart people.
The the draft board empties out quickly, I mean by like,

(42:03):
by like round five, I think all the wide receivers
that I had any mild interest in were pretty much
gone at that point. Some interesting strategies along the way.
Rich Reebar, who picked out of the fourth spot, I think,
had maybe the most interesting draft, maybe the most talked
about draft, and when our stand actually JJ Zacher Reeson

(42:24):
did the same thing in the Brown division, but Rich
at number four, took Christian McCaffrey in the first round,
WHOA followed it up with seven straight wide receivers. JJ
went to CMC, then six Tyreek Hill, Marvin Harrison, Teed McMillan,
Jalen Waddle, Deebo, Samuel Cooper, Cup, Darnell Mooney, Christian Kirk.
Because again, you start three receivers, you start three flexes,

(42:46):
you can start as many as six wide receivers in
your draft. And then after that. So his running.

Speaker 3 (42:52):
Backs, I was about to say, what them running back?

Speaker 1 (42:54):
So Beashall Tuton, Woody Marks, so definitely upside guys. He
took Ker Murray in the twelfth round, which, by the way,
Kyler Murray lasting to the twelfth round felt insane.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
He went for four dollars in the auction.

Speaker 3 (43:06):
He's not great.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
Then DJ Giddons, Jock was Hunter, Hunter Henry and Jordan
James rounded out Richard not like that. So yeah, he
made me smell, but he definitely, he definitely took some
upside running backs, guys that you know, you're not sure
and maybe they have a little bit of a path
to getting on the field, but there's the potential. And
I think especially Woody Barks with the Joe Mixon foot

(43:27):
thing lingering. Uh, definitely there's a path for Woody Marks
for sure. And I heard you throw an elbow at
Kyler Murray in there.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
That slight one.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
Look, you threw an interception Tomorra Harrison in preseason game.
There was a lot of reaction from the Fantasy Streaks,
but this is what we already know. It's kind of
been the last two seasons, like nothing changed.

Speaker 2 (43:47):
You know how you came up in the auction when
it was going on and you were like, if you
covered the names, I can guess your team.

Speaker 1 (43:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
I feel like it about like this is a very
hour podcast.

Speaker 1 (43:56):
You know, every single thought about that after I locked down,
and I'm like, this is definitely our show.

Speaker 2 (44:02):
This Yeah, I think we I would be able to
guess this show. Say you're a bowliever too.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
In that tenth front on as well.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
I am. I was a bow liever in the tenth
round taking bow nicks. You know, I felt really good
about it. And then on Sunday, like Andy Barron's came
spitting all these facts and maybe second guest myself. Uh so,
thanks Andy Barrons. Thanks Andy, appreciate that, Appreciate that. Look.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
I know there's a lot of big names we could
talk about. I continue to think Deontay Johnson is a
sneaky name. I got him in the auction as my
last guy like. Look, I could easily cut him if
it doesn't work right, if he if he quits because
it's too cold or whatever, you easily cut him. But
he is still excellent at getting open and last season
when he was with the Panthers, he was averaging more
Fantasy points per game than Marvin Harrison Junior did. Like

(44:48):
he's playing. He was still playing at a pretty on
a bad team that had too quarterbacks and stuff. So
I think he could come in and compete with Jerry
Judy for to be like the top target.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
So here are a couple of things that sort of
surprised me. Baker Mayfield going ahead of Patrick Mahomes. Wow,
maybe not a huge surprise, but a handful of picks
ahead of Patrick Mahomes. Mauricio Gutierrez, who we love, Mauricio
pretty well takes Drake may So Drake may Caleb Williams,
JJ McCarthy all go ahead of Kyler Murray.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
Yes, people are souring on Tyler? Yes?

Speaker 1 (45:23):
Why are we so down on Kyler?

Speaker 3 (45:26):
I love Look, we just talked about JJ, right, the
hype is getting a little too crazy, But I could
see why. He looks like he fits the role. He
fits the part and it's koc. So there's your reasoning.
And then you look at Drake May like the Trevion
Henderson is going to be an absolute weapon for him
and then his rushing upside, So you're looking at the
opportunity and upside of where these guys can crack. And

(45:47):
Kyler has just been mid these last couple of years,
like he's not been the top ten or even close
to the top five quarterback that we draft him or
look at him as. So I understand people are kind
of tired of the old Kyler story, like it hasn't
been like he's been returning on that ADP.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
It's something I say a lot. We punished players for
when we're wrong on them. And last year, the fantasy
community hyped up Kyler Murray to he was a top
five quarterback being drafted. He was everyone's he was your
favorite analyst's favorite analysts pick, you know, like everyone wanted him,
and then he didn't live up to expectations. So now
everyone is making him be paid for that. We're the

(46:25):
ones that missed that, you know, Like Kyler averaged seventeen
and a half points per game last year. That was
a career low. Like I'm I'm I still think Kyler,
I think we've gone too far in the other direction
and now he's a discount.

Speaker 1 (46:37):
He was QB ten last year.

Speaker 2 (46:39):
Yeah yeah, and that was his worst finish and was.

Speaker 3 (46:43):
He getting drafted.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
It's the more of the burn, but that's us.

Speaker 3 (46:46):
Yeah, but that's the burn that people are.

Speaker 2 (46:49):
But that means if you weren't burned by him last year,
you could get him for a value. This year he
went for four. Like I'm like, I almost took him
as my QB two because like, I've been three dollars
and I was like, yeah, I get him as my
QB two. I'm I'm ecstatic with that. And then I
didn't want to go to five because I was low
on fun.

Speaker 1 (47:05):
But yeah, we will, so we'll talk about we'll talk
about the auction draft probably on Wednesday show. So you
get your thoughts on kind of some of what you
did there, because again I walked in and you were
like halfway through and I'm like, this is a Florio team.
If I've ever seen you would expect guys like this

(47:26):
is totally your squad.

Speaker 2 (47:28):
I want to ask you real quick. One, what about
cam Scataboo, Like Tracy's getting all the hype right now,
but he is.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
And that was one sort of kind of with an
eye to the future a little bit because because I've
been of the belief that that Tyrone Tracy is going
to he's gonna be the RB one, right. My thing is,
I feel like back half of the season is when
we'll start to see more Scataboo. I could see that,
and I don't even think he's gonna have a full
backfield takeover, but I can see it being like a
sixty forty split in favor of Tyrone Tracy, and I

(47:55):
think there's gonna be enough opportunity there. I think it's
gonna be enough targets there that it's kind of be
sort of worthwhile. Again, I only really have to start
two running backs, and if DeAndre Swift and David Montgomery
do what they should do, that's gonna be fine, and
then Scataboo. Anything I get from Scataboo is a bonus.
Same with you know, again, I can take Blake Krum

(48:16):
just in case something happens with Kyron Williams here.

Speaker 2 (48:19):
I can see Tracy playing more snaps, but Scataboo being
the better fantasy option because I think he could be
the third down back and the goal line back yea,
and those are the valuable downs.

Speaker 3 (48:28):
Tracy has the appeal because of like him being a
pass catcher out of that backfield, but like, it's definitely
gonna be a.

Speaker 2 (48:34):
Bad past blocker though. That's that's what I keep going
back to, Like, but I'm a skataboo guy.

Speaker 1 (48:39):
Yeah, well this is a scataboo friendly podcast, so that's
for sure. The other thing that was, you know, the
kind of caught everybody's eye. Literally, it got a hole
from the room when it happened. Ian Hard it's taking
o'marion Hampton in the second round, O'marion Hampton coming off
the board before Kyra Williams. Wow, I always look at

(49:00):
when I say that I don't hate again, You're you
say that now, but your actions suggest dark.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
There you go that god, but everyone is corny, I know,
both friends of the show.

Speaker 3 (49:14):
My takeaway from preseason right, there was a gap, a
little gap between Blake and Jarquez, and I think Blake
just looked at better. But again, this is Jarkus's rookie year,
first real, real live snaps really against the Cowboys defense.
So it's just something to monitor as we get.

Speaker 1 (49:29):
Closer to Week one between that RB two battle. Round
three was the Ohio state wide receiver round. Jackson Smith
and Jig but Marvin Harrison, Garrett Wilson, Terry McLaurin, all
drafted within a handful of picks of each other.

Speaker 3 (49:44):
One was left out the central discontent Chris Olave.

Speaker 1 (49:50):
Yeah, where did Chris Olave go? He went in.

Speaker 2 (49:53):
Carmen got him in every draft that he was.

Speaker 1 (49:55):
He went. I know he's a reception perception Darling is Olave,
but he went late fifth round in this one.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (50:00):
And then just for funzies, Uh, there was like a
weird tight end run in the fifth round, but like
low end tight end. So it's like all in a row,
Isaiah likely Britain, Strange Hunter, Henry pat Fire with zach
Ertz Kitot and Ronde Gadston all in a row in
the front.

Speaker 3 (50:15):
I think Gadson is interesting.

Speaker 1 (50:16):
He ran routes too, and I was I was worried
because that run was happening and actually had Mason Taylor
like in my que like cute, ready to go, but
but like I'm like you guys, if you guys keep going,
you're gonna somebody's gonna take Taylor before it gets to
me like there's just there's not enough of these tight
ends left for him. So fortunately people took a break
and I was able to get Mason Taylor. At the
end of the legend, a.

Speaker 3 (50:37):
Couple of those Titans banged up. But you know, we're
two weeks, three seasons.

Speaker 1 (50:41):
But if you know, if it's just playing for week one,
if it's your second or third tight end, you you
can afford to wait on those guys. I like Taylor,
So uh yeah, So obviously the King's classic. At they
fun draft, a lot of smart people, fourteen teams, you know,
we all say the same thing. It's by like round four,
you're like, Okay, I don't like any of these guys.
I don't want to play anymore, you know, but you
soldier on. So we'll be back on Wednesday. We will

(51:01):
talk about the auction draft. We'll look at Florio's team,
We'll try to get a look at the big board
if we can. I did see some there were some
similarities I think between the two divisions there too, in
terms of in terms of prices. So there you are,
and then, like I said, Fantasy Live back on your
television set, six o'clock Eastern, three o'clock Pacific on NFL Network.

(51:22):
We'll be back with you on Wednesday, and I guess Thursday.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
