Speaker 2 (00:45):
It's Wednesday, man, it's Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
I said Friday Junior Junior, but I think that will
be two.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
That would be Friday the third.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
That's that's like that, Yeah, exactly, let's me too much.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
Friday the third doesn't doesn't have the right too much.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Quite, that doesn't quite work.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
So it's just Wednesday, man, Welcome to Wednesday. We got
stuff to dive into today. We're gonna wait, We're gonna
do tomorrow's show will be our bold predictions for the season,
maybe even throwing some hot takes just because so today
I feared we do our rider Die guys right, the
guys that we are drafting per each position, quarterback, running back,
wide receiver, tight end, the guys that we feel like
(01:20):
we have to come out of drafts with uh in
this one. I'm also in the process of doing a
draft right now. It is the CBS Sports Telethon Draft
for a charity for Saint Jude, benefiting Saint Jude.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Maybe I'll get into it at some point.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
I will tell you that, like I felt great with
my first like six or seven picks, and the last
few picks have kind of gone sideways, so we'll see
how it's Awesome'll be.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
On there tonight six You can catch me on there
in the Draft of thon CBS awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
So be sure to check out Lakwan this evening on
the other Draft of Thon. Always a lot of great
people involved in that. Shout out to the guys o
our CBS, Jamie and Dave and Heath and all the
folks over at CBS too, do a great job. Let's
get into some news and started with a lot of
things that just sort of happened yesterdays. I was putting
this rundown together, like it was sort of light on news.
(02:11):
There wasn't much of anything, and I was like kind
of stretching for things, and I'm like, hey, we canna
talk about Russell Wilson because Darius Slayton says he's like
disgustingly consistent blah blah blah. Thankfully things happened on Wednesday morning,
So we have actual news. You have to be a
better adjective Slayton could have used than disgustingly.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
Yeah, Like, yeah, I mean I got where he.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Was going with it. Disgustingly consistent, Like.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
I like using filthy I mean I get it right,
exactly fifty good, filthy good, I get it.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
So anyway, we do have actual news, starting with the
biggest news, which sort of puts a big piece in
the puzzle, and that is where she Rice is going
to serve a six game suspension to start the twenty
twenty five season. I know, last week on this show
we talked about the report that maybe he wouldn't even
get his hearing until late septem and then when would
(03:01):
the discipline come and how long would it be, So
now we've got to put everything together. We know how
long it is, six games, we know when it starts
at the beginning of the season. So with all this information, Florida,
where are you comfortable taking Rashi Rice if you have
a draft coming up in the next week or so.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
I think the sixth round feels like a sweet spot
for him because like when Rashi Rice is out there,
I still think he brings wide receiver one upside. We
saw what he was doing last year, We saw what
he did in the preseason and the limited snaps that
he got to play there, And I think this is
best case scenario because if you were going in blinde
not knowing when he was going to get suspended, not
(03:37):
knowing how long it was going to be, would it
carry over to the fantasy playoffs? To me, I was
out on him in that range because it's just too
big of a risk we don't know. But now we
know six games first four weeks, there's no buys, so
you have everyone else on your lineup ready for you
just plug in. So I'm in on Rashid Rice. The
only thing I'll say is I don't think you can
take like Rice and ayuk or Rice, and like, I
(04:00):
think you need to pick one of those guys and
go with them. And Rice, to me is the clear
top of those guys who are gonna miss sometimes.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yeah, I mean, Lakwan, you cooled round six. I know
you were. You were like actually scheming to.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
How to draft for she Rice, even without knowing what
the discipline was going to be. But now that you
have some clarity, I'm assuming your plans are round again
to shape more.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Oh yes, by the dick, baby, Look, I have him
as my wide receiver three in one of the leagues
that I'm gonna pay a lot of attention to, and
I think that is the perfect place to even target him.
And like there's some leagues where you guys are just
like scared to take him because oh, it's gonna happen
in the middle of season. No, we got six games.
He's coming back against the Raiders, and I know the
(04:43):
bye week is like two weeks after that, which is fine.
Like this guy was coming off of a torn acl
Like I think folks forget, like we still were gambling
with him coming back from this injury where we haven't
seen him at full game speed yet. So now that
we get the clarity of like, all right, he's gonna
be going for six weeks. He is going only be
full health, ready to go. And if my team is
ringing off, how I believe it's going to be with
(05:05):
him coming as my wide receiver three or my flex
in some of these leagues where I feel like, oh yeah,
I'm going to dominate at the wide receiver position when
it comes to the fantasy playoffs. And look, Patrick Mahomes,
he he showed us like, hey, this may be the
year he might have to remind some folks of who
he is because in the preseason he was playing like
it was already mid season four. So I do think
that with the upgraded old line, and then you're gonna
(05:27):
have Patrick Mahomes locked in on Rashid Rice once he
comes back, it's going to be a heavy target share
for folks that are able to buy the.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Dip on Yeah. I mean, I definitely think I've been
in on the idea of Patrick Mahomes having a bounce
back year this year, you know. And so I mean
some of it is, Look, I just drapped them in.
I just I literally just took Marquise Brown in like
the was it eleventh round twelfth round, something like, actually,
I'm glad.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
You said markuis Brown. I'm glad you said markis Brown.
He has to earn that Hollywood and Brown name because
we haven't seen Hollywood and Ye in.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
A few years. Yeah, it's been like it's the point
now that I'm looking up suburbs of Hollywood, Florida, right because,
like I mean, I think we've worn out all the
burbank Glendale, you know, Brown Joe, He's.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Literally given us the actual current state of Hollywood right
now out here in La. That that if you know, you.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Know, okay, since we're on that right, Hollywood in Las.
At first off, if you come to La and you
never been to La, just understand Hollywood, the district, the
neighborhood of Hollywood is not particularly glamorous. Hollywood is like
a dive bar. Right when you're at Hollywod. When you're
in Hollywood at night, there's lights and there's music and
(06:37):
there's people, and you're like this place is fun, Like
this is a really cool place. And then you see
Hollywood with the lights on and you're like, oh.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
This is where I was.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
It's LA's Times Square. And as a New York native,
I never wanted to go to Times Square is someone
who lives in La Now. I never want to go
to Hollywood.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
I mean, if I have friends who're like, hey, I'm
in Hollywood, yeah, No. If I have friends come down like, hey,
we're in Hollywood. You want to come hang out, I'm like, no,
I'll see tomorrow. I'll see tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
You can if you make it home.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
It's hard to get to parking socks. And yeah, once
you've done it a couple of times, like you don't
need to do it again.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Oh cool.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
Another name on the ground. Oh cool, name on the ground.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
It gets very repetitive, very quick, exactly. So anyway, Marquis Brown,
I'm on.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Brown, by the way, I and I'm worthy. I'm on
all of the chiefs receivers for exactly the reasons you
were saying about Mahomes.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Yeah, I mean, I think they're going to be more
vertical this year. I think they're going to attack down field,
and I think that, you know, there's gonna be less
of an emphasis.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
On mister Swift in the middle of the field.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
By the way, congratulations to Swift is crazy. Congratulations to
Travis and Taylor Kill a trave out here That was
my favorite part that it said Taylor Swift and kill
A trav not go together at all.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
But what do I know.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
I think it's going to be a different offense this
year for the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
I think it's going to look more like the offenses
we saw when we first started drafting.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Patrick Mahomes really highly at the quarterback.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
He might be pretty good at football.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
I think he's okay. I think he's decent. You might
have a future in this league wide receiver news. The
Panthers have traded Adam Feelin back home. Who says you
can't go home again? Adam Feeling's going back to the
Minnesota Vikings. We had a chance to talk to both
Adam Feeling and Xavier League get the during the offseason,
and go back through our YouTube channel, you can find
those I know you posted. You reposted Florida the Feeling
(08:21):
interview earlier on Wednesday, so you can go to to
Mike's Twitter feed and find that there. Uh but lakwan,
no more Adam Feeling in Carolina? What does this mean
to you? For the rest of the wide receivers there.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I'm in on Jalen Coker like I've seen enough from him.
You know these last you know a couple of times
that we've seen the flashes come from last season and
then obviously in the preseason, like he could be a
deep threat, you know for Bryce Young and obviously you
have Tetrod McMillan there, Xavier Lee get Friend of the Show.
I do feel like, you know, Jalen Coker right now
is the under radar, you know, wide receiver if I
have deeper leagues, deeper benches, if I have like seven
(08:59):
or less benches, obviously you're not going to be drafting him.
But I do think like him acting as possibly the
wide receiver too, or the second target option is in
this offense where it'll play a huge role you know
later in the season if he blossoms into this role
and I can honestly see him having like seventy catches,
why is that out of the question here? You know,
wit Bryce shown taking this step forward in this Panther's offense,
(09:20):
so he seems to be the biggest winner here with
Adam Thielen, you know, going back Home, you know, you
love going back Home stories, but I do think that
you know, Jatavian Sanders, he comes an interesting, you know,
watchless type of tight end. You know, guy, and obviously
Tetoro McMillan is going to be to the moon where
he's being drafted as your wide receiver two or three,
where I think the target share is obviously going to
be there for him. But he made level two, you know,
(09:41):
expectations beyond our beliefs.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
I get nervous about Tech McMillan as a wide receiver too.
Like I guess, I see the vision, I understand the
potential Florida. I'm just not emotionally ready to make that
move just yet.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
I get it, and he is exactly like you. I
see all the good and I will say I was
a little lower on him as a prospect than others.
But the main reason I don't have a lot of
McMillan is because I'm either taking running backs in that
range or I'm taking Travis Hunter. Like if I'm taking
a rookie wide receiver and that range, because they basically
are back to back in ADP, I'm going Travis Hunter
(10:16):
over him ten times out of ten.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Yeah, I mean, I think that's just kind of where
I am. Like I I totally understand the hype I do,
I'm just not fully ready to do that.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Yet I think this dings T. J. Hawkinson a little
bit because I was like, Hawkinson is gonna be that
safety blanket that gets old and that's the rule that Yeah,
you guys showed me on that.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
I I am cashing in my ticket now. I don't
want he was going.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
To get traded back to Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
I supposed to be like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
I mean, I'm just acting like the fantasy streets. I'm
just acting like the fantasy streets right now. I mean,
they're all going to be in our d ms about
this crap. So whatever.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
The fantasy streets. Fantasy streets are fickle. Man.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
We saw a Hall of Fame tweet yesterday to assent
in the group chats. Oh yeah, let's believe I know that.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Hey man, you know deciding you're gonna make a wager
based on the wide receiver eighty six? Man, like you
know you do? You couldn't be me, but but you do.
You other transactions that have happened in the last twenty
four hours or so. Isaiah likely reportedly expected to return
in the early part of twenty twenty five. You know,
I like his name, but it makes it hard to
(11:23):
write sentences because you can't be like likely likely back
like you have to say yes, I mean as you
can it just you know, it just looks weird.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
Expected gets a lot of run.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Next, then get a lot of run right next to
Isaiah Likely's name. Isaiah Likely expected to return early part
of twenty twenty five. The forty nine Ers, who are
one more injury away from signing me to play wide receiver,
have signed Mark wiz Valdez Scantling. The Lions have traded
Tim Patrick to the Jaguars, and speaking of going home,
Marty Cooper is coming back to the Raiders on a
(11:53):
one year deal. Any of those do anything for you, Florio.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
The one that does the is Amri Cooper. I think
we've reached the point where Amari Cooper is more of
a contributor than he is like an alpha wide receiver one.
But he is still an outside wide receiver. So Deontay Thornton,
who was getting a lot of hype, now gets more
competition there. I don't really see myself drafting Cooper, but
I think that is the impact that it has. I
(12:20):
did see something that's pretty cool, though, like Cooper's back
on the Raiders, Keenan's back on the Chargers, Brandon Cooks
is back on the Saints. Like everything just goes full
circle in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Is a flat back, Baby time is a flat circle.
Rust Cole said it right all those years ago on
True Detective. I mean, any of those do anything for you?
I mean the Isaiah Likely one was kind of interesting, Lakwan,
because I've been of the opinion that Mark Andrews has
a bounce back season, in part because Likely is a
little bit banged up. Are you how are you feeling
(12:52):
about Likely and Andrews and I guess the entirety of
the pass catching group there in Baltimore.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Well, both of them are both on con track years,
so one of them have to shake out. I haven't
drafted much of Likely in the last month after he
picked up that injury, but like a couple of best
ball leagues, I got him in. So my expectations for
him honestly is like a tight end two because it's
still Mark Andrews show. He still has the strongest, you know,
connection with Lamar Jackson. So my expectations are like, I
(13:18):
can't see myself starting him unless I see Mark Andrews
as injuries or banged up or slow star, et cetera,
et cetera, so likely not likely to be a starter
for me.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
I see what you Yeah, So I don't know that
those are some of the news headlines. We'll see other
things that happen. Obviously, there have been cutdowns, Guys will
get picked up. There may be another trade or two,
who knows before we get to the start of the season.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
But those were the moves NBS wide receiver two Marcus.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
I mean, look at this moment, he probably is because
who else do they have there? I mean, like, I'm
just gonna be honest, right, they just their shorthanded wide receiver.
So NBS really might be the Robins. It's being You're.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Really Jennings like, is I'm getting real nervous with him.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
I mean, the last reports I saw were that they
expect him to be available for week one.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
I mean, I need him to be available for week one.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
That's that's the latest report there.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
You know. It seems like whatever contract issues, I think
they sort of put that sort of thing behind them,
so it's just mostly about him getting healthy.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
All early August, I was like, I'm not worried about it. Now,
I'm taking the discount, and now week one lineup's got
to be set and I'm like, oh.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Yeah, you still got another. You should have another week,
you know, for for things that cross.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
It's a good time to be a forty nine ers fan. Man,
I just love it. Back back, whoa, whoa. Now he's good,
he's upright, he's chilling, he's practicing.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
You're so invested in this. It's so funny how you're
so abandoned about this in week one.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
I love it. I'd love to see you guys, crumble
man before the sea the eating starts. It's fine, it's
just it's so satisfying. Week five, I believe.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Week five October second, that's called one week here. I
might not even show up. I might just let YouTube
go at it.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
For the whole pod, right, you know you showing up.
He's way more emotionally invested in it than I am. Yeah,
Like that's the fun part. I love beating the dead horse.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
MG. I was thinking about this the other day because
you know, the Kwan comes to us like at least
a couple of times a month, and it's like, yeah,
I spent the weekend fighting with forty nine or fans
might mentioned right, and now, because I've seen you operate
like the way you operate with me, what I realized
is that you throw rocks at a hornet's nest and
then you're like, why are all the bees chasing me?
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Like that's what you know, That's.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Not always that way.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
It's not like that tweet of yours Dether, like he
had a tweet breaking down something with the forty nine,
and then at the very end it was just like,
and they're bad, right, and like I had to just
like throw that group chat like and.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
They're not even good, Like what are we doing here?
Speaker 4 (15:53):
Like all right, Like it was great logic until the
last line, which was just like and they're bad.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Like you literally just you literally say throw rocks at
a hornet's nest, and then when the bees come swarming
around your face, You're.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Like, how did this happen? I don't understand, Like that's.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
It's not always that way, man, I just like barking
and pumping my chest. Man, it's just a good event.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
I get it. I'm a yeah, I get it.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
But then you like you love to you love that
sort of act, like oh they were fighting with me,
and I'm like.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
I was just sitting business, you know, my own business,
and then somebody's gonna shot and be at my mention.
It's like, no, man, Like I don't believe that that's
the case anymore. Like I used to give you the
benefit of the doubt. Now like I just like, no,
I see how you operate with me, so I can
only imagine it. Imagine how you operate with strangers on
the internet. So that's all you're the all of them.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Like I sit here, I just like I tried to.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
I try to play this down the middle because I
understand we have to help people with their lineups.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
So like, yeah, people know I'm a.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Forty nin er fan, but I don't sit here like
like somebody who mentioned on our show, I'm not gonna
name any names about how they'll just throw out information to.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
Get people to draft other guys that they.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Don't like, you know, like, I can't imagine anybody on
this show would do that. I don't know, I have
no idea. Oh my god. Anyway, we're gonna talk about
a rider die guys. Hopefully, hopefully the ones that are
listed here are the ones that people really believe are
their rider or die guys. I'll think break former little
sneak Peek, We'll take We'll take a break and come
back with more on the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
All right, we're getting.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Into our rider dies, the guys that we really really
really really really like.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
That we are doing our bestest to make sure we come.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Out of every draft with you know, provided somebody to
come and snipe our picks a couple of spots before
we're ready to go. But it also is time to
see who will deliver, presented by Uber Eats. So as
we get into our rider dies, we will start with
the quarterbacks. You know, they are the marquee names, the
guys that score the most points, the guys that we
are strategically angling to get. So for you, Lakwan, I mean,
(17:52):
I'm not surprised, but I'm gonna let you say out loud,
who is your rider Diet quarterback this.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Year, mister Bononicks. So you best believe I was to
have him on the rundown, like I need to be
even louder because folks are still disrespecting him in drafts.
Letting me get him where I'm getting him. But when
we had that cannon event last year where we have
Sean Payton and bow Knicks basically having that screaming match
like they are a terrible marriage or whatever they had
going on. He was literally a top by the way,
(18:18):
yes it was a cannon event, man, this is when
things got together. This is when bow Knicks was like, hey,
I am the top dog of this offense. Let me
run it my way. And he was a top five
fantasy quarterback from then on. I mean, look, we're talking
about a guy that has the ability to average twenty
fantasy points per game. We look at guys like Jayden Daniels,
the Lamar Jackson, Josh Allens, etcetera, etcetera, guys that can
(18:41):
reach those feats, and ever since that cannon event in
Week five, that's exactly who we saw. We saw the
real bow Knicks. And I know Florio will appreciate this,
but it's Nick's tape season, baby, let's go.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
I do love that nickname. That's a very well done nickname.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
I mean it is, but also, like, doesn't it feel
kind of like the Ribella Like he just you know,
you just gotta stole.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Wait until we get Hoodie Hoodie Nicks. It's gonna there
we go. When he thought that Hoodie and it's gonna
be a problem watch all right?
Speaker 1 (19:12):
All right. By the way, we didn't mention Tommy DeVito
is a free agent again.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
The Patriots picked him up today.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Oh really, so with him.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
I will change my answer to Tommy DeVito because I
got but I will support Tommy DeVito. He could play
Patriots Division roll root for him.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
I don't care.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
But what happens if he overtakes your boy Drake may Well.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
That's not like Honestly, the Saints should have picked him up.
It would He would be the best quarterback on the
Saints round.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Locked in with Spencer Rattler right, like the rattler like
they should hand out They should hand out rattles at.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Saints games, right, and just have people rattle them whenever.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
For all three games for you know, because like you
thought streaming the Cardinals defense week one, if you.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Thought theas were it were annoying at that one World
Cup in South Africa, imagine like fifty thousand people shaking
rattles for team. He'll be like, I don't want to play,
like I'm just annoyed. I can't be here anymore. You're
rid at eye quarterback. No surprise to anybody who's been
listening to this podcast.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
Yeah, you've probably heard me talk about this. I talked
about him on Fantasy Live today. I'm talking about him now.
My dom Touretto at the quarterback position is Justin Fields.
Why because he runs and that right, Like, that's why
Josh Allen and Lamar are the top two. Jaden is three,
hurts his four. We want running quarterbacks after the top five.
I don't think anyone brings more upside than Justin Fields.
(20:28):
We've seen him be at QB six with the Bears,
he was on pace to be at QB six with
the Steelers last year. He's one of three quarterbacks ever
to run for a thousand yards. He's the most rushing
quarterback yards by a quarterback in any single game. I
think we're gonna get a toush push there so he
could run for a thousand and double digital touchdowns. And
then I also think he's gonna have a career year
as a passer because of what Tanner Anksting is going
to set up, Like the Lions had very efficient not
(20:51):
asking him to air the ball out. So I love
Justin Fields. And the thing is I have him as
my QB six. I don't draft him as the six
quarterback because his ADP is closer to two. So I'll
take him something like QB nine or ten and just
keep getting that discount, all right.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Yeah, I mean, I know a lot of folks love Fields.
I think it's it's easy to sort of get him
where he's going. So that is obviously a big plus there,
and I do see the upside. We still don't know
if he's a good real life fantasy a real life quarterback.
We know he's a good fantasy quarterback, and I think
that's same thing with you.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
All that matters.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Yeah, my god, we don't know. We don't know if
my guys are a good real life quarterback. We're still
waiting to see if Patrick Mahomes can figure it out
in the NFL. But he is a guy that I
am targeting heavily in drafts because I do believe that
this is the bounce back here, and honestly, this is
the cheapest Mahomes has been probably since he became a starter.
(21:41):
You know. Yeah, you know, like I was watching the
Chiefs preseason game the other day, and you know, just
you wonder. You don't think about it, but when you
hear it that every year he's been a starter. The
worst he has done is end in the AFC Championship Game.
Like seven years is a starter. I don't enjoy that
AFC Championship games. I mean, I get it, but like
(22:04):
it's just sort of mind boggling, you know that that's
the thing. And the last couple of years, it hasn't
been the Mahomes that we all, you know, in fantasy
fell in love with, with the big numbers, you know,
the five thousand yards, the forty touchdowns, like that hasn't
been there. I do believe this is the year they
get back to that. Now. Obviously, you know Marquise Brown,
(22:24):
you need him to get healthy, Rashie Rice once he
gets off of suspension. But we've seen what they've been
able to do with Xavier Worthy. You know, Travis Kelsey
is still going to be involved in the offense. There's
still a lot of pieces there. And I think that
this is the year that Mahomes reminds us that he
can still be an absolutely elite quarterback, both in real
football and in fantasy football. And the fact that you know,
(22:46):
he's still hanging around in you know, the sixth seventh round, just.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Outside that tier of elits.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
I'm willing to pay that price pretty much all day
anytime I get the opportunity.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
In this one preseason game, over ten are yards per attempt, yeah,
which is huge. I mean last year was like six,
So we just need more airing it out.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
That's all that we were moving a lot in that
pocket too. That boy might be running more.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
Like that's the thing we don't really talk about. He runs.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
He runs enough to make it worthwhile. Like we know
that the air yards, we know the passing yards he's
going to get.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
You know, we're never going to.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Confuse him with Justin Fields or Daniels, but you know
he'll get you a sneaky four hundred rushing yards if
you rushing touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
We hype up like I'm not disrespecting bon Nicks here though,
but like we hype up both like Caleb Williams, like
they add value with their legs. Mahomes does as well,
but we no one ever talks about it.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
You don't talk about it anybody that starts with I
don't want to disrespect because it.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
Sounds like Nicks isn't. But like bow Nicks ran for
what like for something, and Mahomes, yeah that as.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Well By the way, if I remember right, Caleb Williams
had more rushing yards than bone Knicks. Oh, here we go.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Yeah, those were running for your life yards. These weren't
like you know, I can really get.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Score differently, Like they don't they don't fall in a
different category like, oh, they're running for your life yards,
so they only count for having in Chicago.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
The trenches are fixed in Chicago, so he shouldn't have
to be running for his life.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Flash. I've also said that Caleb can run similar to
the way mahomes like. I've said that all the time
the whole time, that like he can get out of
the pocket and run when he needs to. So, by
the way, you mentioned don Touretto, I saw a really
good fantasy team name. That's a fast and furious theme.
You didn't have me. You didn't have Jamar.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
I'm oh, man, I think I'm getting Jamar Chase in
my home. I'm just stealing that name.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Why my god, I don't know if that's a long
name though, Like I don't know it's going to be
because it's too long.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
You didn't have me.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
You didn't even have Jamar. There you go, that was
who will deliver presented by Uber Eats. When football makes
you hungry, get game day deals on Uber eats, the
official on demand delivery partner of the NFL. Order. Now
it's get the running backs real quick before the break.
Lakwan your ride or die at running back. We are
riding dying for my guy. I mean, look, I know.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
The fantasy streets have this trend where it's like, well,
last year, I told you no, in twenty twenty two,
I told you about Jordan Mason. Now I'm telling you
about him again in a Vikings uniform. Now there's going
to be a co pilot situation here one, A, one B,
whatever the case may be, with Aaron Jones. But it
is Jordan Mason season. I'm telling you. When it starts
to get cold outside Aaron Jones, you know he's up
there in age. He had a career high and touches
(25:27):
last season. It's going to be plugging play for Jordan Mason.
This system just completely fits him. Now when you look
at how the Vikings run their run game, they ran
the eighth highest outside zone scheme last season. And when
you look at that yards per carry that Jordan Mason
picked up over there in San Franz six point one
yards per carrying outside zone schemes and those runs, and
that is bread and butter for my guy, Jordan Mason.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
I know you.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
I mean you're super hyped on him, like you've been
like hyped on him for a while now now, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
I don't really slice back on and I'm just like
I'm coming around. I like Jordan Mason. I'm on board
with him. The only thing I don't like is that
him and Aaron Jones go back to back in ADP,
Like you have no chance of even pairing them together,
Like I want a handcuff, like like it feels like
we're like he's the first making decisions fright ran Back rafted.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Yeah, yeah, that that discord.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
That's sort of interesting because either because I feel like
with that that means either one is undervalued and one
is overvalued. I don't know which one yet.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
So like he's going in the seventh round before then,
I think most rosters you should have two running backs.
There him as my RB three where I have no like,
you know, desire to star him immediately. That is bread
and butter. When he starts taking up you know, those
touches over Aaron Jones in the middle or late season,
like I'm thinking playoffs, like that's all I'm thinking about.
(26:50):
Like Jordan Mason is one of those guys that we've
seen last year be a workhorse and just completely dominate
with his opportunities.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
I always have a hard time drafting a guy being
like I'm thinking playoffs, Like I get it, but also
like I got to make the playoffs before I can
start thinking about guys. I want to stow you in
the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
And if Aaron Jones is healthy, he's not, He's never
going He's never going away. He needs to get hurt.
He could lose. I think they can lose Touches and Mason,
Like they could be fifty to fifty on the ground
with Jones getting the airwork. But I don't think Jones
completely goes away.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Yeah, I think that's that's sort of the thing about
the about Aaron Jones. He's good.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
I mean, that's my cousin. I ain't trying to, you know,
push him out the way. He's not Aaron Jones.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
Yeah, I should have seen where you only draft Joneses
like Daniel Jones is your quarterback.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Dag yes, Matt Jones.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
Jones, Jones is running that's get Chris Jones. Yeah, I
got even people think you look.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
Like my Domino ganger.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
Yeah. I don't even know if there's enough like wide
receiver Jones, like you tell have the draft like Marvin Jones,
wo hadn't been in the league in a couple of.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Kobe Jones, bring him out of retirement, let's.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Go, Like I think wide receiver is where you'd have
a tough time. Uh with that?
Speaker 3 (27:56):
It's rough all around?
Speaker 2 (27:57):
All right, Florida, who's your rider?
Speaker 1 (27:59):
Died running back?
Speaker 4 (27:59):
So I know I said, like like Justin Fields would
actually be like my Letty I guess and my Don
Tretto this year. I wish I still had it Travon
Henderson no matter what, Like I held up a sign
that said that on Fantasy Live today, I left it
down there. But I'm all about like I was saying,
I hate how hyped he's gone because it's making me
draft him at where I'm willing to still draft him,
Like I took him in a league on the two
(28:21):
three turn ahead of James Cook like two weeks ago.
I'm fine taking him in that range. I wish I
didn't have to, though, because I have him on a
bunch of teams, like he's on my Scott fish Ball team.
He's on all of these teams that drafted in like
July and early August, before the preseason, I was taking
him in the seventh, eighth round. Then it became the sixth,
the fifth, the fourth, and I just kept paying the
price because I think he's an RB one. I think
(28:43):
he has every single tool that you want in a
running back for fantasy purposes. I was telling you in
before the NFL Draft that I think he's better than
Omaron Hampton. We'll see if I'm right on that, but
I still stand by that, like there's no player I
want more at cost than Travion Henderson.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Well, now apparently Adam Rank has thrown down the gaunt
to you for the NFL rank.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
He's getting on board a little late, you know.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
So I mentioned earlier in the week on Fantasy Live
that you were driving the hype train for Trevon Henderson,
and Rank says he's laid a claim to it. I
was like, well, Florio drafted him in the third reft
Florias like Ranks, and I've also drafted him in the
third round. So now he's telling you that you have
to take we we did the one, the one two turns, Yeah,
because we played.
Speaker 4 (29:24):
The segment is like how high will you go on
a player? And I got to round three and he
backed off and I was like I would have kept
it going, like I would have been like one oh one.
I was like, I'm not, I'm not back, and then
Rank was like I was at the hospital when he
was born, Like we had a lot of fun. I
think you should check out the segment. But yeah, I
have no problem with people being on board with Trevon Henderson.
(29:45):
I just I wish it happened in like week three
of the season and I had him for like seventh
round already.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
Yeah. Yeah, fantasy streets that from happening. I've been on
dere Swift all off season are with this one, and
I'm not changing my mind on that. We saw last
year in an offense that was still trying to figure
itself out, that he had maybe a career year, one
of his best seasons certainly in the NFL, both as
a rusher and getting the ball as a pass catcher.
(30:13):
I don't think having Ben Johnson at the sticks is
going to change any of that. I think he's going
to get plenty of more opportunity in an offense that look,
the Bears will have their growing pains early. They were
up and down during the preseason, without a doubt, but
I think they're going to figure it out as the
season goes along. On top of it, there's just no
real backfield competition for DeAndre Swift. I think the Rashawn
(30:34):
Johnson experiment is pretty much coming to an end. I
just don't see anybody else that's going to go in
there and take any real opportunities from Swift. So the
fact that he's still hanging around kind of in that
fourth fifth round area, you know, being drafted. He's being
drafted kind of as a high end running back too,
but I think the ceiling is a kind of a
low end running back one situation for him. I'm in
(30:55):
on DeAndre Swift as I was frustrated this CBS draft.
I had them all cued up. I think it's Jamie
Eisenberg or this Heath Commings. Maybe I can't.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
I know he likes him a lot, took him a
pick or two before another player though that like two
months ago. I know we on this show, I think
we all like him, but like two months ago or
a month ago, like Swift wasn't going this early. Like
he's been a big ADP climber in the last couple
of weeks.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Absolutely been a big riser in the last couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
People think that Ben Johnson hate him.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
I don't know where that came from at all, And
like he just spoke about it.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
He chose Premier Gibbs over him, Okay, like running back
maybe besides Bajan, you know.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
Like okay, yeah, sure, okay, yeah, I don't know. Man,
this is the time where people start reading into things
that aren't necessarily there just because we because the content
machine demands grist for the mill, like it just it
grinds us to death and we have to keep coming
up with stuff. And so that you don't.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Shout out to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey because they
gave the world something to talk football wise, to talk
about besides having to throw out ridiculous takes with no
football being on this week and like everyone having fatigue
to get to the season. So shout out to the Swifts.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
I guess so, man, I just Swift, Taylor, DeAndre, all
of them, all the.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
DeAndre, all the time.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
Yeah, I'm not a fan of this, but I'll keep
my thoughts to myself.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
You better because you don't want you but the Swiftest
different thing.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
You're gonna be at your house tonight.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
You don't want them in your mentions.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
I'm good. I played with the Bee High before with Beyonce,
you know, in the early days of Twitter, and that
was a big mistake.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Here's a rule of thumb. This is the rule that
I live by on social media. If your fan base
has a nickname, you do not talk about that person. Rihanna,
the Swifties, the Navy. I don't know if the Katie
Cats are the Rihanna Navy.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
I didn't know that that was her fan base.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Oh yeah, the Navy is the Navy.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
Is go ahead say something, I dare you.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
I I just thought you.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
Go ahead out fan base has a nickname, just just
don't good or bad because like somebody will misinterpret it
and your mentions are a wreck. Just don't do it.
The barbs I think of Nicky the.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Guy ate up.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
We're gonna take a break where Lakwan will tell us
his real thoughts about the Swift Kelsey union. They will
come back. Rider dies next the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast.
So now that we told the Kwan where the Swifts
and Kelsey's are registered for their wedding, we can get
(33:37):
back to the rest of our rider dies. Here we'll
dive into wide receivers. Look one, who who's your rider
diet wide out this year?
Speaker 3 (33:45):
Now, this was my ride to died last season where
I was saying, this guy has top five potential. It
is Drake freaking London man. And you gotta say the
name like that because every Sunday that's what you're gonna
be saying, like, God, why didn't I draft this guy?
He's putting thirty on my head right now as my
opponent is just sitting there happy to have him. So
I've been drafting a lot of Drake London. He's my
top exposure player just based on Michael Pennix and what
(34:09):
he brings to this offense. Now we know they've been
flirting with his athleticism. I said it before with Zach Robinson,
him getting sideline sideline, moving in and out of that pocket,
but more importantly last season those three games from Week
sixteen to eighteen, he led all quarterbacks in air yards. Obviously,
there is a need in want to air the ball
out to Drake London. I've spoken before of how his
(34:29):
yards per reception increased from eleven yards to sixteen yards.
Now imagine that on a full seventeen game pace. Man,
I'm telling you, Drake London has potential to crack that
top five. And it's going to be from out of
nowhere where he's going in the early second round. It's
really crazy.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
I don't I mean, I don't know if it's out
of nowhere. And I do agree that he has the
potential top to crack the top five. I totally do.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
Wait, Marcus, am I doing it right?
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Don't?
Speaker 3 (34:52):
Am I doing it right?
Speaker 2 (34:53):
A little bit too much?
Speaker 1 (34:55):
Rest, It's more like it's more more elbow, you know, yeah,
like there, there you go. More like that, there you go,
good job. I like this. It's like it's like a
bunny rabbit hopping, like what are you doing. The one
thing that I'm not gonna say about Drake London this year,
because We've said it too many years in a row
about the Falcons, is well, the quarterback plays got to
(35:15):
be better, right, Like we keep saying that and then
we keep being disappointed. So while I hope that Michael
Pennix is better than what we've seen. I'm not. I'm
just I'm tired of throwing that out there as a
reason for Drake London. But I do think I think
target share, I think ability of all those things factor
he's great.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
We know he's got all the talent.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
Yes, one hundred air yards per game, that's what he
had with Panis in those three games. Man, that's all
I need to hear and all I need to know.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
If that's the case, then why don't you like Chris
o'lave Uh?
Speaker 2 (35:43):
Why is he in the satchel of discontent?
Speaker 3 (35:45):
He is forever going to live there's your best ability.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
But he was captain air yards for years.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
Captain Airyards, Captain mid as well. We're good to go.
He is not going to be.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
With Drake May. And I like Drake many I have
him in my top ten. Like, oh, I'm sorry, Yeah,
Drake London is like what I said this like two
months ago, Like what if Michael Panics just isn't that guy?
Speaker 1 (36:09):
Isn't that dude?
Speaker 4 (36:10):
Like and and I know he's gonna air the ball
out a lot, but like defenses know that as well,
and like it's a lot easier to game plan when
you have a full summer to game plan for someone.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
Then when but you got a running back named Bajean Robinson,
though them safeties are going to be pulled back because
of a vertical attack, But then that just leaves Bijon
to go crazy. You're not gonna want Bjeon going crazy,
so you're gonna have to pull them forward. Like there's
a lot of cat and mouse. They're gonna have to
play with this offense. Like I'm heavily invested in this
Falcons offense just based on you know, Bijeon being Bajeon.
(36:41):
I'm sorry, I keep doing that. Why do I keep
doing It's so hard to get used to. But Bajeon
is obviously my one on one. But then I'm investing
in a Darnell Mooney as well. That's like sneaky right now,
get yeah, super It's like people forgot he's on the team.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
It doesn't play it all preseason.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
Still not understanding why, Like everything you said about Drake
London and the Falcons offense, like it could have translated
into the Saints the last couple of years, right because
because Alvin Kamara is a dude, you didn't want him
going crazy on you, right, if you're pulling your safeties
back at least like I get it this year, like total,
I understand this year while you're not in Saints. I
(37:18):
just don't understand why, like all the things that apply
to Drake London didn't apply to Chris o'lave before.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
I'm just just because Chris olave was going in the
first round of Garrett Wilson and then people were burned.
I think Drake London was the guy that was just
going like way after those guys. Now we need to
start putting respect on his name and draft.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
For the second round.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
I took him at the one eleven a lot of
drafts because I didn't want to take that risk here.
So I'm willing to go before Brian Thomas. I mean,
I'm willing to reach up.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Ahead of just stress testing your theories.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
That's all. I'm just trying to do that. Now.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
That's when New Orleans.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
No, I get it. I don't understand we're not.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
That's what the Saints this year.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
If I call correctly, your rider die wide receiver this
year is the same as it might have been last year.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
Maybe probably maybe I.
Speaker 4 (38:05):
Love Molik neighbors I always have. I remember last season
in March when everyone was calling me a hot take
artist and a clickbait artist because I had him ranked
ahead of Marvin Harrison Junior as a prospect. The reason
I did that is because he There's not a thing
he cannot do on the football field. Like he could
win downfield. We didn't see that last year. That was
a Giants quarterback problem. That wasn't an elite neighbors problem.
(38:27):
He could win after the catch. He's an elite route runner,
elite hands, great in the red and end zone. Like again,
he had a better rookie season than Jamar Chase and
Justin Jefferson did, and he did it with Danny. I
was called Danny DeVito, Danny Times, Tommy DeVito, Drew Locke,
and Tim Boyle. He's got three quarterbacks on his roster
(38:48):
now that are better than anyone they had last year.
I have him ranked as my wide receiver four, but
I think he could finish this year as the wide
receiver one if touchdown variants goals his way. He is
my pick to be the offensive player of the year
and to lead the league in receiving yards.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
I mean, the Giants probably one injury away from starting.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
Danny DeVito honestly watched Its Sun an amazing episode of Sonny
If Jersey If Frank Reynolds was playing quarterback for the
New York Giants. Amazing.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Mind's the guy I've been talking about all.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
All summer long. That's Jamison Williams. I think this is
the last year I thought was kind of a breakout season.
I think this is the year he truly makes the leap.
We see how explosive he is, we see all the
things he can do. I like that John Morton is
trying to open up the route tree for him and
and do more things with him and get the ball
in his hands as much as possible. I've been saying
I think he leads the Lions in receiving yards. Maybe
(39:41):
not maybe receptions, but receiving yards. I think he can
lead them in. And the fact that he's still kind
of a sixth round pick, I think is a big,
big bargain for a lot of folks. So yeah, I'm
still in on the Lions offense. Maybe it's not quite
as explosive as it was with Ben Johnson, but I
still think it's gonna be very good. And I still
think j Miss and William is gonna be a key
part of it this year.
Speaker 4 (40:01):
And we're gonna get more downfield throwing because there's no
way we can't. The line have been bottom two deep
pass attempts every year.
Speaker 3 (40:08):
So so I heard that teslaw stock is going up
as well.
Speaker 4 (40:13):
I'm with you on a s I want as much
as I could.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
Get is slow.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
Like I I know that they love him and like
everything I read about him has been super positive. There's
just so much competition for him to get targets.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
Right, he's probably fifth at death.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
Because you know, I mean it's going to be.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
I'mn raw fifth.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
Wait, hold up, think.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
About it, i'mna Jamo Laporta, Gibbs Yep.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
Yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
Got Laporta a little bit lower.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
I got you think a rookie, I think, and get
more targets to Sam Laporta.
Speaker 3 (40:47):
John Morton that has no loyalty to Sam Laporta. And
there has been nothing entire sum good. But look at
the competition. So is Tesla. I mean, come on, now,
we've all the pres he could not stop scoring.
Speaker 4 (41:02):
Yeah, one was gonna make a wide receiver three and
the other is your your tight end, tight end like Yeah,
who's got nine hundred yards and double digit touchdowns under
his belt.
Speaker 3 (41:10):
I'm not in on the porter. That's basically I'm not
either at cost.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
But he's gonna be targeting more than yeah, than Tesla.
I mean right now, the biggest thing to hear about
Tesla is like he's a great blocker and he's really tough.
Speaker 2 (41:21):
Like that's cool.
Speaker 1 (41:22):
It's gonna help him get on the field this year.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
Could be in Detroit, that's all.
Speaker 4 (41:27):
This is where I think preseason gets to like, like,
I get it. He was a great preseason player. He
had a couple of nice catches. He could be a
great dynasty pick and stuff. He's not gonna outproduce Sam Laporta.
That's my thinking.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
I'm with you. I'm with you.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
That's get us.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
That does get us to tight end? Fitting enough, Oh,
let's do it. Yeah, I Quand this is not a
name I was expecting to see.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
Is your rider die tight end this year?
Speaker 3 (41:56):
I have to be honest. I was heavily influenced by
Isaiah Stanby because every day in the green room for
Good Morning Football, like fantasy comes up obviously with Manti
and like Jake Ferguson's name just keeps popping up, and
like I'm starting to come around to it where I've
taken him in my recent drafts these last two weeks
as my tight end one, Like he's going way later
than rest of the other tight ends that we coin
(42:18):
and champion, but he's made sense to me of where
like you're gonna have to make a business decision on
George Pickens Cede Lamb, that just leaves the middle of
the field wide open when you have Brian Schottenheimer calling
the shots again, and the last time he did that
was twenty twenty three, where this offense was raving as
top five in all major categories. When you look at
twenty twenty three, Jake Ferguson led all tight ends in
(42:40):
red zone targets the touchdowns is exactly where I want
to be. He had twenty three red zone targets twenty
three And I'm looking at this as like, Wow, these
safeties and cover two, they're gonna have to worry about
the middle of the field now because Jake Ferguson's going
to be lighting it up most weeks. Where you're gonna
have Jake Ferguson healthy. Of course, where I do think
that he's going to be a tight end. We're just
(43:00):
gonna not really just have on our radars and then
we're gonna look, it's week four or five and we're like, yo,
why is this guy at the top of the boards?
Speaker 1 (43:08):
I need some more air yards out of Jake Ferguson.
That's all eighty six targets turned into four hundred and
ninety four yards like need I need.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
Hey, relax man.
Speaker 1 (43:20):
And he had the same man. He had the same
number of touchdowns as all three of us combined.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Like, dog, I know you're not talking about last season.
It was a train wreck last year under McCarthy, Like,
I mean, look how I look at last year.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
It was a wash.
Speaker 4 (43:34):
It was a wash that SA got hurt.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
I guess I can't get that.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
I'm not sold that Brian Schottenheimer is going to be
some new magic potion to like unlock this offense.
Speaker 4 (43:44):
I mean he was the OC last year, so like
the last.
Speaker 1 (43:47):
Year and like literally it was like it was like
Jerry Jones was looking for a new head coach. He
just poked his head out of his office like pointed
the first person.
Speaker 3 (43:53):
He saw, but shot he was the play caller. In
twenty twenty three, though that was the last time he
was actually calling the shots, and then Mike McCarthy his
last year, He's gonna go down with the ship, very selfish.
You know, you're gonna go down on the sword. You're
gonna go down my way. And that's why that offense
looked the way it looked in twenty twenty four.
Speaker 4 (44:10):
I like Jake Ferguson as a tight end two, like
I have him ranked as a tight end one. But
I don't want to leave my draft with him as
my tight end one.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
Yeah, that makes sense, that's the thing, Like I don't.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
I don't feel comfortable with him as a tight end one. If.
Speaker 2 (44:23):
But but you.
Speaker 1 (44:24):
Also said, Lawan, you're like down to just like wait
and figure it out. In the back end of.
Speaker 4 (44:29):
Low key, like at like two in the morning, me
and you were sleeping, Lakwan's over here talking Jake Ferguson
getting ready for his.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
Fantasy You're up there on GMFB like it's called gm
f f B, Good morning Fantasy Football. Like that's what you.
Speaker 3 (44:43):
Should there, you go, Hey, Mike, got something there, Let's go.
Speaker 1 (44:46):
I should have said out loud, because now they're gonna
make us get up at like three o'clock in the morning. Yes,
let's go join join the great Yard. I mean, as
long as I can do it from my house. They
don't care. If I don't look pretty, that's fine, then
we can do it.
Speaker 4 (44:58):
I'm willing to do it. They're not gonna app ask us.
There's no way they're going to ask us. You could
go first year because I kind of stole your answer. Oh,
you had it down first. This is the part of
the show where we talk about Tyler Warren.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
Let's go because we haven't talked about Tyms enough this offseason.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
I literally almost did it.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
This is a part of clean should should have just done.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
We should make a clean sweep of Tyler Warren, like
all the way down on our Rider died tight ends.
I'm I will admit that some of it is watching
him do everything but kick extra points against USC last year,
but also just you look at the body of work
he had and what he did at Penn State, and
it was absolutely incredible. They couldn't line him up pretty
(45:40):
much anywhere. He seemed to be able to run most
any route they would throw him the ball. He was
able to, you know, make contested catches. He was good
after the catch. He did a lot of things, and
I know that sometimes we can overvalue what we see
in the preseason, but the one thing I noticed when
I watched the Colts is that when he was on
the field, they were throwing him the football. He was
out there, he was running routes, they were throwing in
(46:02):
the ball. Maybe they do use him occasionally as an
inline blocker, but it does seemed like for the most part,
the role for Tyler Warren is you go out there,
you run routes, you get open, We're gonna throw you
the football. And because Danny checked down, Dimes is gonna
be the quarterback at least for the time being. Short
quick throws seem to favor having the tight end of
(46:24):
the middle of the field. I just as much as
I can get Tyler Warren, I'm happy to do.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
It same And just like Daniel Jones Anthony Richardson statistically
at his best targeting the middle of the field, that's
gonna be Tyler Warren's area to run. I said on
Monday that I was thinking about moving Tyler Warren up
into my top five.
Speaker 1 (46:42):
Did you do it?
Speaker 4 (46:43):
He's my tight end four. I put him ahead of
the portal who we just discussed and then Hawkinson because
I do think the feeling trade. My thinking with Hawkinson
was he as a runway to become the number two target.
Now that there's target competition starting week one, and then
once Addison is back, there's a lot of competition there,
first time quarterback, all of that. I still like Hockinson,
like I'll but I took him Warren over Hawkinson the
(47:06):
other day in a in a draft, and I thought
about it a lot, and I was like, you know what,
I'm pretty sure I would do that every time. So
I need to change the ranks, all right, And so
tight end four after the big three.
Speaker 1 (47:14):
So this has gone from being the NFL Fantasy Football
podcast with episode of hot Ones, we just we just
got spice all over the place.
Speaker 4 (47:21):
I think that's gonna be. It's not consensus, no, but
like more and more people are moving him up and
up and up, Like I get it if you want,
like an Ingram or Andrews, but I think I think
no one has more upside.
Speaker 3 (47:34):
I don't know either of than Warrens.
Speaker 4 (47:36):
Warren and you compare him with Ferguson as like your two.
Like i I'm usually taking a tight end to just
in case. But I believe in Tyler Warren like I
have King's Classic. He's my only tight end on my roster,
and that's a fourteen team league.
Speaker 1 (47:50):
Yeah, I'm in. I'm all in now, I'm I'm afraid.
I don't want him to become Dalton Kincaid. But why
would you say that.
Speaker 4 (47:59):
He's brought? That's who he is.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
If it's an elbow, it's an elbow to myself because
I was huge on Kinkaid.
Speaker 4 (48:07):
I don't take it personally.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
I know, kid, I'm elbowing myself because that's the way
I feel about Warning is how I felt about Kinkaid.
So like you know, shots fired on Will.
Speaker 4 (48:17):
I'm a little bit in on Kincaid at a like
tightened four.
Speaker 2 (48:20):
No, you're nice ad.
Speaker 4 (48:23):
If he was going tight end seven again, like I'd
be like, nah, no way, Pitts d kin kid, because
he's tied to a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (48:30):
That's that's the only I think.
Speaker 3 (48:33):
Is Dawson Knock still around?
Speaker 4 (48:35):
Is he?
Speaker 2 (48:35):
Is he still one Dawson Knock?
Speaker 3 (48:38):
All right?
Speaker 4 (48:38):
Yeah, Arry is still hanging around.
Speaker 2 (48:41):
He just literally didn't here. Yeah, say damn, it's like that.
Speaker 4 (48:47):
I like Dulston Knox. He's a cool guy. He's on
his last year of his contract too, though, so I
think they're they're looking ahead. Kid is going to take
over it.
Speaker 3 (48:54):
I heard he's acting now too, So he has cater
Cador Knox, Dawson Dawson Knox Dawson.
Speaker 4 (49:00):
Who's he going to get engaged to? I mean, if
he's going the acting.
Speaker 1 (49:05):
Josh Allen already married an actress, Travis is marrying, Uh,
you know, the biggest pop star in the world, and
you know, so Dawson Knox got to get in on that.
Speaker 4 (49:13):
He's going to get like I don't know. I was
going to think of like a celest actress, but no
one came to mind.
Speaker 2 (49:17):
Well, yeah, because because actresses in your head.
Speaker 4 (49:23):
Some women from like a Hallmark movie or something like that.
Speaker 1 (49:28):
One last thing before we get out of here. I
threw this in the rundown just for s's and g's,
as Adam Rank would say. Always, you know this time
a year where leagues are getting together, they're maybe coming
up with rule changes in this sort of thing. So
it made me think, what rules would you like to
see implemented or changed in fantasy football? Uh? Laqui, I
don't know if you have a feel you feel like
somebody who would have a list of things like you
(49:50):
just pull out like a CVS receipt, long list of
rules and extra bonus points per touchdown.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
As a former commissioner for my you know, home league
with my homies high school, I was pulling out the
CVS list and trying to convince them. But in the
leagues that I'm still strapped to DST for the defenses,
I do think we should get points for turnovers on downs,
Like it should be like as much as four points,
like at least like that is a huge feat for
the defense to turn the ball over on downs, like
(50:18):
there should be some type of point system for that.
Speaker 4 (50:21):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (50:21):
I like that. No, I do like that. I like that.
That being said, I mean, I guess you couldn't call
it a turnover for the offense because there's no one
specific person that you give.
Speaker 2 (50:30):
It to you, but the defense can get points.
Speaker 4 (50:32):
It should just be like a like an interception and
fumble recovery is two that should also be too. You know,
it's the same thing.
Speaker 2 (50:38):
I'm fine with that.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
I'm proud with that. Anything you'd like to change, Flooria.
Speaker 4 (50:43):
I have two that came to mind. One I think
wide receiver, any position, but the receivers should get point,
like a point or two points or whatever if they
draw a pass interference like that is a game changing
penalty you could draw potentially, and in fantasy we're just
like all right, well, I guess that doesn't mean anything
thing for us. The other thing is, look, I know
(51:03):
people like kickers. I know you are a supporter of kickers,
Marcus Boos. Leagues, kickers are the only position that cannot
lose points. I think kickers should lose points for miss kicks.
Speaker 2 (51:13):
Absolutely, that's catholic. I feel like I've played in the leagues.
Speaker 4 (51:16):
I think there's some it's not the norm, right, but
like I think it should be inverted, right, Like if
you miss a fifty yarder, say that's minus three. If
you miss a thirty yarder, that's minus five because like.
Speaker 3 (51:27):
You got a join my home league, it's minus fifty yarder.
Speaker 1 (51:31):
Yeah, I played in leagues where you can lose points
for miss kicks. Well, I think the leagues I've played in,
like if you miss a well, it used to me
if you missed a fifty yarder, it was zero points
or whatever, because that was when fifty yarders were rare,
but like now everybody kicks fifty.
Speaker 4 (51:42):
Yeah, like that should be the lowest negative. But like
I play like you hear about people in leagues right there,
like I'm up two points and I have a defense,
do I sit them? You never hear that about kickers
because in most leagues they can't lose points.
Speaker 2 (51:54):
Yeah, no, I think that's absolutely the case.
Speaker 4 (51:56):
That miss extra point negative ten.
Speaker 2 (51:59):
If he was an extra point like that.
Speaker 3 (52:00):
Bruh, that should I'm not playing the league.
Speaker 1 (52:03):
And that should be nearly should be nearly apocalyptic if
you miss an extra point like it should be. I
still truly believe and always will believe that that pick
sixes should be minus six for your quarterback.
Speaker 4 (52:16):
I'm on board with that. I never thought of that,
but I like.
Speaker 1 (52:19):
That if your quarterback throws an interception that leads directly
to way touchdown, that should you know, you should the
most minus eight minus two for minus two for the interception,
and then six points for the touchdown.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
So that should be as pick six should be minus
eight point.
Speaker 4 (52:34):
If you're in the quarterbacks in his red zone and
it happens and it's like a nine minus ten or
something like that, Yeah, that's.
Speaker 3 (52:41):
Start a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
We don't even start a quarterback, just start a quarterback.
It's like, don't start Matt Shaw.
Speaker 1 (52:46):
But like, that's what I'm saying, Like, don't start guys
who throw pick sixes a lot, like, because it's a
catastrophic play for your real team, it should be a
catastrophic play for your fantasy team.
Speaker 3 (52:56):
Look, we're a Jameis Winston pod. I don't want to
do the ob his joke here, but that would be insane.
He goes out there and throws a minus ten.
Speaker 4 (53:05):
Geez, but I even really you know, a big number.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
Jamis is what radicalized me against current quarterback scoring because
the year that he went thirty for thirty, he still
was a top five fantasy quarterback, and.
Speaker 2 (53:16):
Like that just should not be.
Speaker 1 (53:19):
It shouldn't. That's why I think we should have escalators too. Right,
if you throw more, like you know, your first two
touchdown passes are what four points or six whatever your
normal scoring is, right, but if you throw a third,
then that should be one point more. If you throw
a fourth, it should be like you should do that
should escalate. Similar with interceptions, your first your first two picks,
I'm willing to give you minus two if you throw
a third, that's minus three.
Speaker 2 (53:39):
If you throw a four, that's minus four.
Speaker 1 (53:41):
Like, if you have a four interception game in real football,
your team is probably losing. If you have a four
interception game in fantasy, you're just like whatever, if he
throws three touchdowns, like I just I wipe it off.
It's not a big game, like like it should match
what's happening on the field, or if your quarterback throws
four interceptions, it should be harder for you to your
fantasy match up.
Speaker 4 (54:01):
The whole time you're talking there, I agree, and I'm like,
you know, Russian quarterback numbers probably shouldn't be as valuable
as they are, like because that makes Justin fields better
than and I love Justin fields for fantasy, but he's
not better than most of the quarterbacks that we take
him over.
Speaker 1 (54:13):
Like if we have if we're gonna do tight end
premiums right where tight ends get like one and a
half points per reception, like we can make it so
that quarterbacks like you need twenty yards to get a
point for rushing.
Speaker 4 (54:22):
Or something like, you can make it total yards and
like you get twenty for every twenty five total yards
you get a point. Yeah, so if you throw for
three hundred, you run for one hundred, that's four hundred
total yards right there.
Speaker 1 (54:31):
Like, I think we should actually make it so that
quarterbacks have the value, hold the value and fantasy that
they hold in real life. I just I keep, I
really do keep saying that if we think, you know,
Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, whomever, is the best quarterback in
the league, you shouldn't be looked at sideways when you
take one of those guys early. This just doesn't make sense.
Like we think Jamar Chase is the best wide receiver league,
(54:52):
you take him at number one. Everyboy's like, yeah, okay,
that's cool.
Speaker 4 (54:53):
That makes sense if we had scoring like that, who
scores more points? Brock Purdy or Matthew Stafford? Y?
Speaker 3 (55:00):
What is sat with you?
Speaker 2 (55:01):
Bro the mic away from his face and getting ready
to leave.
Speaker 1 (55:11):
Actually pretty might because.
Speaker 3 (55:14):
No, don't even think about it.
Speaker 1 (55:15):
Stop it weren't it's Stafford.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
It's Stafford, bro Stop, don't even think about it.
Speaker 1 (55:21):
It's like you insulted his whole family when you said that.
Speaker 4 (55:23):
Who do you who do you bring.
Speaker 3 (55:28):
Stafford? You talking about it's Stafford? Like I'm dead? Seriously,
you see he was on the perimeter like it's Stafford bro.
Speaker 1 (55:37):
If if he wouldn't get this upset if you said
something about his son, I probably agree.
Speaker 3 (55:46):
But I had to run this morning to his school
because he left his homework on the table that I
told him put in his book bag last night. Matthe no,
he would never do that, He would never do that.
Speaker 1 (56:00):
All right, let's take a break. Let's let's just let's
wrap this up so little I can go take a
deep breath and get some water and touch grass for
a minute, because I think that will help him in all.
Speaker 2 (56:09):
Back with you tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (56:10):
We will have some some bowl predictions, maybe some hot
takes as we get you ready.
Speaker 2 (56:13):
Just looking ahead. We are off on Monday because it's
Labor Day.
Speaker 1 (56:17):
Uh, but we'll be back starting video shows next week,
so a couple times a week we'll be actually doing
live video, not live but video shows that you can
see on your fast channels. You can see him on
the YouTube's. I believe they will be. They don't tell
me where they are. I just go digging around and
I find it everywhere.
Speaker 4 (56:36):
So the Quand's barber everywhere.
Speaker 1 (56:37):
Yeah, man, the Quands barber was holding us down during
the sheet so shout out to the barbers man for sure,
for sure in the yeah go ahead, oh go ahead,
giving a shout out to your barber.
Speaker 3 (56:48):
Old town. Shout out to them. Man crisp.
Speaker 1 (56:52):
It's crispy like a yesterday fresh bag of ruffles.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
Just crispy, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (56:59):
For this initiation of NFL Fantasy Football Podcast, they happy,
safe and healthy, do good and live well.
Speaker 2 (57:03):
Enjoy it to everybody. Talk to you again tomorrow.
