Speaker 1 (00:04):
NFL Game Deview is a production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Hey, everybody, welcome to Game Deve you. Patrick Claybound here
with not just these gifts, but these two gifts Greg
Rosenball and Cynthia Freeland here to get you every bit
of information you need to properly decide how you feel
about these football games.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Hey guys, hey bus, this was this the like the dance.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
I just don't like that he's trying to butter us
up with these gifts before he just quietly sticks the
knife in with these great picks every week.
Speaker 5 (00:35):
I know he's crushing us.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Well, here's gift us some picks with full context. Greg
led last week in the Picks he went eleven and five. However,
I still reluctantly wear that crown.
Speaker 5 (00:47):
I did mind not reluctantly.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Well, my thoughts on monarchy are perhaps complicated.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
As on this show. You can have a monarchy.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Okay, there it is one and seventy seven on the season,
just a few games, I think four. My math is
properly which is always a problem. I had to sit
through freely. Hey, Greg closing winning two consecutive weeks. Let's
discuss some football folks. It was just two weeks ago.
The Bears and the Packers met up in Green Bay.
Less than thirty seconds ago. Driving to tywer win the game,
(01:14):
Caleb Williams was picked off by Keishaw Nixon. The Packers
won twenty eight, twenty eight to twenty one. It feels
like a lifetime ago because since then the Bears stopped
the Browns, the Packers lost Micah Parsons for the season.
A lot has transpired since then, to the extent that
next Gen Stats is finally believing in the Chicago Bears.
They have them at forty three percent probability to win
(01:36):
the division, just behind the Green Bay Packers there at
fifty one percent. Packers haven't lost in the division all season.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Good, you see, that is one of the reasons why
you gotta like the Packers.
Speaker 6 (01:47):
Here four and oh the Bears are one in three.
It's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
It's okay. Well, the Packers Bears rematch was Saturday in Chicago.
Romo Dunes and Luther Burden are out for Chicago. Do
the Bears. Although it feels like you're not leaning that way.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Get some rum I like to spoil my picks, but First,
I want to spoil something that happened in the offseason.
You have to remember Ben Johnson's press conference when he
took the job in Chicago. I think laid the groundwork
for what's going to happen on Saturday. And to be
quite frank with you, I kind of enjoyed beating Matt
(02:22):
Lafleur twice a year.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
Oh you dirty dog, Ben.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
It was so big.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Yeah, he like paused, he said it, and he was
practiced so many times. And look, I'm sure he did
like beating it. But he had Dan Campbell by his
side this time, and the first time they met, he
did not get that victory. Matt Lafleur then gave the
drive by handshake heard around the world and Ben Johnson,
if you're gonna talk your your game, you gotta deliver.
(02:53):
And I think this is a big moment for Matt lafle.
Speaker 6 (02:57):
It really was.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
Matt Lafleur has been in this division for seven years.
It is the third year with Jordan Love as his quarterback,
and I think their program, their organization is further along
than Ben Jonson's.
Speaker 6 (03:09):
It's not a fair fight.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
So even without Michael Parsons, I like the Packers getting
it done.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
It did become one point closer for me, but I
still have the Packers as well, twenty four to twenty two.
I think when you look at Josh Jacobs, who has
been you know, a little banged up and take its
rest in terms of not practicing, I don't really care.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
That was the talk last week as well.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
When I'm looking at his verse sight, this team wants
to run first and then pass off of all of
the different run concepts.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
So he's a straw that starts to drink.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Here the Bears defense, there are a very high interception
team leading the league. Well, what is the best way
to not turn the ball over through the air?
Speaker 5 (03:44):
Run the dang football.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
So ultimately, to me, the opportunity to keep Josh Jacobs
going and keep him ahead of a six, like just
keep that positive momentum going and like momentum, but keep
that positive trajectory going in that case, But Josh Jacobs
is the difference maker.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Yeah, you can make the case. He was the best
offensive player on the field for the Packers against the
Denver Broncos. Great offensive team and a solid defense. I
believe in the Chicago Bears, I've got one point for
the Bears. Yes, we're barking here, and I'm gonna pay
off on a promise that I made a couple of
weeks ago. I said close game. The next time I
picked this game, I'm gonna take the home team and
I'm gonna do that. And the playoff highlighted when we
(04:20):
discussed that game was Michael Parsons. This time it's DeAndre Swift.
He has an explosive run rate of seventeen percent. Since
the Bears came back from the bye, they have more
explosive runs than anybody in the NFL. I think they
ride that run game to a great win for the
Chicago Bears and get the inside track in the North.
It's time for the feel good story of the Week,
(04:42):
presented by Geico. The winner of this game takes sole
possession of first place in the North Cynthia. Which quarterback
more likely to throw for over two hundred and twenty
five yards?
Speaker 5 (04:50):
Is it Jordan or came it's Jordan?
Speaker 6 (04:52):
Now?
Speaker 5 (04:53):
Do I know who exactly? It goes to?
Speaker 3 (04:55):
No, because it seems like every so often it's like, hey,
this is the robo dabs game, Okay, this is Christian
Way whatever. So there's some injuries there. I don't care
who it is. I think that it is going to
be Dan. I know I just talked about not turning
the ball over, But.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
Do you know what Jordan Love does. Oh, just a
thirty eight to.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
Five touchdown interception ratio, which is the best in the league.
So it's not really so much of a concern in
this one.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah, and the other quarterback, Kayleb Williams, has given his
offensive lineman marvel comic nicknames. He calls Drew Dolman Hulk
and speaking of a very large and various like that name,
maybe you know Bruce Banner is also very smart? Uh.
Dk Metcalp also big, strong, and on a bit of
a hot streak.
Speaker 7 (05:31):
Right now, one in the plate clock gets a snap
Dolphins bringing pressure throw over the middle. It is completely
dk Metcalp pearls aside. One defender chick arm another hit
the hand zone bit at Pittsburgh standers touchdown.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
What an effort my dk Metcalp. Physicality on full display.
Speaker 7 (05:54):
Dk Metcalp caught that in traffic, had a man on him,
pushed them aside, sidestepped another guy, and waltzed into the.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Like he owned the place, which he does here at
Act Forshure. Congratulations on the purchase of a new in zone.
We're talking real estate before this year, so tell you something.
DK is in possession of that in zone. Steelers' Lions
in Detroit this week. Pittsburgh currently on top of the
AFC Northwall. Detroit is in must win mode if they
want to make the playoffs. Do they get the win
(06:25):
that they need?
Speaker 4 (06:26):
They get the win in what I think is going
to be a score fest. So if you're looking at
that number, I like it to go over. But I
like the Lions to get thirty points in this game.
Twenty six for the Steelers because Jared Goff is playing
his best football of the season, even while they're losing games.
I've been really impressed. For instance, they're watching this Rams performance.
He was under pressure. He delivered a lot of dimes,
(06:47):
including that one to Jamison Williams. You think about some
of the tougher moments they lost, that game they lost
on Thanksgiving. I think he was up for the challenge
in those weeks, a leader for this team stepping up.
And then you think about the matchup this week without
the Steelers as healthy. TJ what nick herbig If you
don't pressure Jared Goff. You are going to lose, and
(07:08):
this Steelers defense has been getting by I don't think
they will this week.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Well, you have four points, I have six points. I
have twenty nine to twenty three in this matchup.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
Listen, I'm a Lions fan. I can tell you this.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
All Lions hands will tell you this is not the
week that they break your heart. It is either next
week on Christmas when they should win the game, or
the following week just to kind of keep your hope
really just at the penultimate hope. But look at Jamier games.
You talk about who the best player on the field
has been. I agree that Jared Gos's been great, but
but for zero, things would not be in this spot
where they're even considering the playoffs given all of the
(07:39):
injuries to the defense, et cetera.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
Now you also talked about those missing pieces of the
Steelers defense with TJ. Watt and maybe Nick Herbig.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Well, what is the best way to just not even
worry about pressure. I'll run right at it, run right
where the vacancy left by TJ. Water Nick Herbig happens
to be, which is actually a pretty good spot for
Jamiir Gibs to run and this is very fund success.
And then compound that with the fact that the Steelers
over their past three games have given up five yards
per rush. I think this is a nice, big get
right moment for Jamier Gibbs, Jamior Gibbs fantasy owners who
(08:08):
were very mad at him last week in what wasn't
his fault.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Yeah, we have an entire segment on NFL Fantasy I
have called chillbro where we try to get people to
understand that the player would like to score points as well.
I think Jamiir Gibbs is great, and as Greg pointed out,
JG's playing really good football right now. So whyn't want
to take the guy that JAG's throwing the ball to
a lot and that's Jamison Williams. It's unanimous, folks. I
also have a six point win for the Detroit Lions
(08:31):
Jamison Williams. You know, they've got some guys who've played
a lot of football in that Steelers secondary, and I
envisioned Jamison running past them a significant amount of time.
He got shut out back in Week twelve. Since then,
he's had three or more games, excuse me, three games
with more than seven catches two of those games yet
north of one hundred and thirty yards. So yeah, if
(08:52):
you're a Steelers fan who watching want to chronicle or.
Speaker 5 (08:56):
Choice of all life, of course, we love yins.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Feel free to photograph this image and send it to
us in the event that we were wrong. We don't
necessarily think so Vegas expecting fireworks in this one. They've
got it projected as the highest scoring game of the week.
Why don't we take a look at the rest of
the highest totals according to our friends at Caesars Chargers
Cowboys featured once again and containing the streak. The Cincinnati
Bengals defense on the spoard once again even against Quinn.
(09:22):
You were it's wild that game above the Bengals. It's
a game that we're pretty focused on. The Patriots and
the Ravens. The NFL Daily Bowl, Poor Game Day View Bowl.
Speaker 6 (09:38):
Bengals bringing four Jackson towards the m.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Zone and it is cut Flowers for the Ravens touchdown.
Speaker 8 (09:47):
Lamarde Jackson surgical with that pass.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Patriots Rayvens on Sunday Night Football. Baltimore looked significantly better
last week in Cincinnati, but are still looking up at
the Steelers in the division. New England blew a twenty
one point lead to the Bills last Sunday. Do they
exercise those demons, Gregg?
Speaker 6 (10:06):
I think they do.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
I think they do it in a way that you've
been talking about all season. Patrick explosive plays Patriots are
the new Ravens move aside, Lamar Jackson, you're athletic, You're fine. Hey,
Drake may was scrambling and making some plays with his
legs last week too. But these are the types of
throws of why I'm picking them in this game. Traveon
Henderson and the explosive passing game has been consistent all season,
(10:31):
and for a while I didn't quite believe it. Can
you really build an offense out of Kayshawn Boody deep shots?
Speaker 8 (10:37):
Ah?
Speaker 6 (10:37):
Yeah you can.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
How about maccollins making plays down the field like Kyle
Williams has about four catches and half of them are
long touchdowns. And it's really about this man number thirty two,
who yes, already leads the Patriots franchise all time in
fifty yard plus touchdowns four already this season. I think
he could do it again and beat the Ravens at
(10:58):
their own game with big time touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
When you talk about beating the Ravens at their own game,
what comes to mind for me mobile quarterback, which is
what Drake May is, Which is why I have New
England winning twenty four to twenty three. Last week, he
got Josh Allen and he learned something from that. Right
he in the first half, Josh Allen was not Josh Allen.
Then something happened at halftime. He put on the cape
and in the second half Josh Allen turned back into
(11:22):
the superhero that we all expected. Drake May has many
of the same attributes as Josh Allen, so I think
what we're gonna see here. Even though his offensive coordinator says,
I want to get the ball in the hands of
Trevion Henderson more, I still think it is Drake May's
ability to make things happen. Throwing on the run, just brushing, scrambling,
you know, whatever it needs to be. This man is
the guy who's up for anything that the defense could
(11:43):
give me.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
I like it when the Model goes for a three
point on your dog. It's like the model woke up
feeling frisky.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
Yeah, the Model's very frisky.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
The model is an ever present the circumstance, we're constantly
watching to see what it does. I'm going against the
model here. I'm going to the Baltimore Regular with a
got twenty seven to twenty six win, and what I
do think will be a score fest, both teams going
up and down the field, but in those types of matchups,
as Greg points out, with teams that make explosive plays,
making the big play, having those big moments. And there's
(12:11):
a former Patriot that had a big moment last week
in cal Vanoyd, that I think has a solid game.
In fact, cal Vanoy is third on the team in pressures,
but he has seventy seven and one hundred and three
fewer pass rushes than the two guys who are in
front of him. And how about just plays like this,
We're I think tournovers are gonna be big in this game.
(12:32):
The chunk plays great, great TV for Chris Collinsworth from
Mike Turrico and everybody watching at home about the Ravens
get one more than than the Patriots and get a win.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
Shout out to Bill Belichick for saving Kyle van Noy
from the Detroit Lions franche time and career around and.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Also deciding to move on from him, and so now
you can play for a couple of other teams. It's
time for Who's Eating Good? Presented by Applebee's. Lamar had
two touchdown passes on just twelve attempts in last week's win.
Will we throw for over or under a one and
a half touchdowns against the Patriots?
Speaker 5 (13:05):
And I think he throws for at least two passing touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
I know there was a streaker he didn't throw for
any and it was crazy and people were like, what's
wrong with him?
Speaker 5 (13:13):
Is he broken?
Speaker 3 (13:14):
I don't necessarily need them to be these deep shots
like you're seeing on your screen. I think that they
could be shorter passes to tight ends. Let's just go
with the higher probability situation. Lamar Jackson, although he looked
great last week, he hasn't necessarily looked like himself all
season long.
Speaker 5 (13:27):
Shorter passes just get in the end zone. I think
at least two.
Speaker 7 (13:31):
Outside in the Franklin in motion, bo takes a snap
four man pressure, Bow climbs the pocket, throws the.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Ball to the end zone, touchdown, Denver try.
Speaker 7 (13:40):
Franklin bow Knicks's fourth touchdown pass of the game. Great
anticipation on that one, Franklin goes high above his helmet
with two hands to snag the ball four yards deep
from the south end zone, and Denver is in front.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Twenty seven to twenty three verses the season for cent
of by Seasons book. As we look at the first
touchdown score odds in the big AFC matchup between the
Jags and the Denver Broncos, it's Etn and R. J.
Harvey leading the way, with Portland Sutton and the trade
deadline acquisition Jacobe Myers rounding out that top four. Let's
(14:21):
talk some more about this mega matchup at Mile High.
The Broncos the hottest team in the league. They've won
eleven straight. Trevor Lawrence coming off a six touchdown performance.
Who wins this potential playoff preview?
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Cynthia, I mean, I love what the Jags have been
putting together, but I have Denver winning this one twenty
five to twenty one. I'm looking at Boonix and all
the ways that he has improved.
Speaker 5 (14:41):
The defense was.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
Really bolstering this team to begin the season, and now
we're starting to see a lot of different types of
passes in tight coverage on the We always know he
throws on the run, but on the run into tight coverage.
Speaker 5 (14:54):
Okay, we're adding to your game. So look at this
one right here.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
You know Courtland Sutton got opened for that, but ultimately
you're looking at the Packers defense, who for the majority
of the game was with Micah Parson, so it's not
like this is happening without him. You have a really
good opportunity in this matchup not to just have screen passes,
but to really overcome a Jags defense is not bringing
anywhere near the amount of pressure that the Packers were
working with last week.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Yeah, I am with you, Cynthia. I've got a one
point win for the Denver Broncos twenty four to twenty three.
Somebody has to lose this game between really good teams.
I will take the team that always plays at two
hundred and eighty feet versus the team that plays at
four feet above sea level for the Jacksonville Jaguars long
road trip.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
Did you google that?
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (15:36):
I did.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
I googled the average elevation of Everbanks Stadium. For this
lead in, A key part will be you got to
cover all these talented Jags and tal no Hufunga is
going to be a piece that dvance Joseph can deploy
at fifteen weeks the season. Through fifteen weeks, he had
the lowest yards per target in the league among safeties.
And yeah, so many guys catch passes for the Jags
(16:01):
involved in the run game. I think they need a
big ufunga game and I think they get a great Okay.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
So there was a moment in last week's Jaguars game
where I became a believer. And it was a moment
after Trevor Lawrence had an incredible touchdown and you know
what he did to the sideline.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
He did this and they might think that it's the
Michael Jordan's shrug, but it was.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Actually the just Greg that was coming this week Jaguars
over the Broncos.
Speaker 6 (16:25):
It's gonna be the ambush. What do they call it?
Speaker 2 (16:28):
The uh?
Speaker 5 (16:29):
Sure? Back when Mark Brunell and the Jaguars okay.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
One back in the nineteen ninety six playoffs against the
Broncos team, very similar score here, a three point win
in a score fest. And this time, instead of Brunell
and John Elway, it's Trevor Lawrence and Bo Nick And
you know what, they're playing like a couple Hall of famers.
Speaker 6 (16:47):
At least the last couple of weeks. This is the
best Trevor.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Lawrence has ever looked, and he's doing it to the
intermediate part of the field. They are really spamming these
throws from ten to nineteen yards and you see some
of the dumpoffs here. That's great because of the weapons,
but it's really about those intermediate throws. And I do
think if there's anywhere pick on in the Broncos defense,
that's it against some of those linebackers in safeties.
Speaker 6 (17:08):
Let's go Trevor looking forward to.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
This matchup between Lawrence and Knicks, who are twenty six
and twenty five, respectively. They were both less than six
years old when Philip Rivers threw his first career touchdown.
Now it's twenty twenty five and the literal grandfather still
doing it. Two by two formation for Rivers looking over
that defense full on the play, Cup takes a step
(17:30):
three step drop, looking grows inside the five, touchdown for
the Colts and it's toudowns across the goal line.
Speaker 8 (17:38):
Touchdown.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
I E. D.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Why and the Colts now are on top twelve to
three man. Philip Rivers came off the couts. It came
out here throwing dimes, Hutchdowns, goes across the field, he
sees them, gets the ball to him. I love how
he gets it to him for six Rivers and the
Colts playing host of the Niners on Monday Night football.
Rivers coming up just short last week in Seattle, Indie
(18:04):
in must win mode to keep the playoff hopes alive.
Do they maintain that liveliness.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Card they do not win this week, they will not
be eliminated though this week, and they will keep it
closer than that big number indicate twenty two to twenty.
I liked the defensive effort from the Colts last week,
but I also liked what I started to see from
Philip Rivers.
Speaker 6 (18:25):
Okay, now everyone this week was like, Hey, I hate
to be the spoil sport, but I got to be
the truth teller. He actually didn't play that well last
week in this guy like no kidding.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
They had a lead late in the game where he
led the offense to a leading field goal, so they
could have won that game. He was managing. You know what,
He might actually get better at forty four years old
with another week to get it going, and they can't
rush the passers. So I think Phil plays well this week,
But ultimately I do love that forty nine ers offense
and they win by.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Just a little I don't know how to follow that
because I don't know who you were impersonating, but it
was just a.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Lot of people like great.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
They I'm really sorry to point out Philip Rivers didn't
play that well.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Thank you, truth teller, bold troof color voice.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Yeah, well, I think the truth teller is actually George Kittle,
who he sums up pretty much this whole Niner season
for me with one tweet. Have a look at it,
so it says he's just that Jesus Christ lizard running
on water, no ball security, fake pitching.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
It at the end of a forty yard rum. Absolutely
just diabolical behavior. Bry ur qb one, I love it.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Let's look at the play here, because you do need
to have to watch us. Okay, so obviously he drops back,
he's looking to throw, and nothing's open. He scrambles to
the left.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
Oh I'm gonna faked you again, And now what's gonna happen?
Oh yeah, no, no, you can't bring me down.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Oh sorry, sorry, Cody Burton, I apologize for Biffy and
then he walks up to revers like, I don't know
what I did, man, so he told everyone after he apologized,
look at this you Nope. My point is is they're
quietly a very very fun team and a very like
they're doing it with players.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
We some of their defensive players.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
I have a hard time pronouncing their names because they
weren't in that thing they give us at the beginning
of the season with the pronunciation guy.
Speaker 5 (20:02):
And yet they're still in a position where they could
easily at least I.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
Mean, they're going to make the playoffs, but they could
even potentially be the one seat still, which is bananas,
if they.
Speaker 5 (20:11):
Win in the division. So I'm looking at them.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
I just think it's a lot more fun than maybe
we've been giving it credible. I don't know what a
Jesus Christ lizard is, but I'm in.
Speaker 6 (20:21):
I'm in.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
I don't know what it is, but I'm in.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
I'll get the full taxonomy for you, which you know
my predilection for looking things up. Yeah, it's running, and
of course it doesn't have the necessary weight to penetrate
the waters either way, No.
Speaker 5 (20:33):
Got it, got it. It's going so fast that it
doesn't sink.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
I understand now, It's just just like brop party and
the team managing to not sink despite all of those
injuries that they've had this season, including for Juwan Jennings.
I've got the forty nine Ers winning twenty three to eighteen,
and he scored a touchdown. Jennings has in four of
his last five games. He had two against the Tennessee
Titans last week, and he trails CMC by thirty four targets.
(20:58):
Because you know, the amount of they rely on Christian
is on slipananas. But if you'd like another Niner who's
at the team on his back when he's able to play,
look no further than Juwan Jennings. Just eight again, a
team that's gonna be around, gonna be in the postseason
depending on how things go.
Speaker 6 (21:15):
I really might be playing for that one seed.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
They truly could be.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Yeah, which is all available because we can do the math.
So let's do some more math. Jonathan Taylor has slowed
down for the past few weeks. Cynthia. Does he go
for over ninety four yards in this one?
Speaker 3 (21:30):
I do think he does not, because I think it's
gonna look great. But we are missing a ton of
pieces from the forty nine ers defense. We are seeing
a lot of volume to Jonathan Taylor, that is a
smart way to you know, put to rest some of
those guys who to be the truth to I love
that person. That voice needs to call me and just
like hang out with me later. So I think Jonathan
Taylor does.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Have a big day.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
It's not for the reid presented by Microsoft co Pilot.
Microsoft Copilot, your AI companion for NFL Game Day and
every day, we ask Copilot to pick the one player
that could thick flip the momentum of the Bucks Panthers
game and co pilot with Baker. Mayfield Likes's ability to
extend plays and make clutch throws under pressure. Worth noting,
it's a revenge game for Baker who played for a
(22:12):
hot second in Carolina. Things didn't necessarily go well, Matt
rules coach, and that would be the Baker revenge game.
Bucks and Panthers battling from the top spot in the
NFC South. These teams played twice in the next three weeks.
So how does round one go, Cynthia, I think the.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
Bucks take this one twenty five to twenty one. I
want to point out something here that you don't see
this very often, and this is from their coach.
Speaker 5 (22:33):
So just have a look here.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
You can't sugar coach that was in the excusable and
he has no pansom for it.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
There are ten bleeps, ten explatives. I believe they all
begin with the same letter. And I'm looking at that
and that is not normal Todd Bowles behavior, which is
it's just strange, and either is what's going on with
their defense specifically. So I believe that when you have
a leader like Todd Bowles and you have him say
publicly so many swear words, you're gonna get the.
Speaker 5 (23:02):
Best out of the player going forward.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
This is a situation where like, I don't want to
mess you.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
Put that in the model like Todd bow swear words
divided by I.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
Mean, I should Todd.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
But when you act out of character like that in
a very passionate way, it's kind of like new coach syndrome,
right like where you get like this fire lit under
your bump. Also, it helps that you know, Mike Evans
all the players could be back. That's very helpful as well.
So I'm looking at the bucks and all those swear words,
and I think that they managed to get it done
by four points.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Yeah, I'm with you, Cynthia. I've got a two point
Buccaneers win here. I would like to pick the Carolina Panthers.
There's just a couple of things that are pushing me
away from that circumstance, and they both involve this Bucks
defense and the Panthers offense. Bryce Young When he throws
the ball against the Blitz, the results have not been good.
It's been a seventy nine passer rating, six touchdowns, five interceptions.
(23:50):
That combined with the fact that Jamel Dean is probably
considering the sides of the field they normally play on
gonna be lined up over Tetoroa McMillan, and you've got
to go back to twenty eighteen to find a guy
with a lower passer rating when targeted downfield. I've got
the Bucks winning and making Todd Bowles feel a little
bit better for I.
Speaker 6 (24:07):
Do as well.
Speaker 4 (24:08):
This concerns me because just when you think the Panthers
are gonna lose, that's when they figure it out. But
I got the Bucks winning twenty one to seventeen in
par Because what are the Panthers.
Speaker 6 (24:18):
I don't know what they are.
Speaker 4 (24:19):
I thought they were a good running team, like that's
their identity. Right, offensive line and running over the last
month plus since they're by they are twenty ninth in the.
Speaker 6 (24:29):
NFL and EPA per rush thirtieth in success.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Right, I'm showing you a negative running game Carolina snuff
film right now, and they just can't.
Speaker 6 (24:39):
Get anything done.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
If football guys have taught me one things over the years,
it's like, you need to run the ball, you need
to stop the run. And the Carolina Panthers are bottom
five in both categories over the last month, and I
just think that they would be tougher upfront.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Dude, he just had another character Telly voice and tough
guy voice, sun It tough.
Speaker 5 (24:55):
Guy voice and then football guy voice. I mean, we've
got so much.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Going very the tough guy voice very similar like Mark Schlareth.
You know you got you gotta run the ball, you
got stop the run.
Speaker 2 (25:06):

the Wells Fargo Active Cash credit card let's make some
quick picks here on game debut Raiders and Texans in Hetown.
(25:28):
Houston has won sixth straight. Greg Rosenthal famously makes a
statement sometimes with scores, I'm interested to know what score
you have for this.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
This statement here is by the Raiders defense who picks
up a safety as part of a twenty six to
five loss. Only three points on offense, But good job
by Max Crosby. Unfortunately, the Texans offense is playing too
well to really for the Raiders to deal with.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
How about this play from Nicocollins and CJ. Stroud right
out the gate last week.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
If you had the Texans like Cynthia did, winning big,
you felt good.
Speaker 6 (25:59):
Nico Collins one of the best receivers.
Speaker 5 (26:00):
How many yards you have on that?
Speaker 6 (26:02):
Over fifty fifty two?
Speaker 5 (26:04):
But if it was seventy five or more, that's more
than the Raiders had in their entire.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
Game less well, and it's absolutely outrageous. And Nico did
go over seventy five gone the game. He is playing
elite ball. And it is so great to see c J.
Stroud with some protection looking like one of the best
quarterbacks in the league.
Speaker 6 (26:18):
They went easy.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Yeah, let's go in to the Bengals and Dolphins, with
the quarterback situations not necessarily great for the Dolphins to
a talk about Little getting benched for quinn Ewers, both
teams out of the playoff race. Who feels a little
bit better after this?
Speaker 3 (26:30):
Cincinnati feels better? Twenty eight to twenty one is my
final score. I'm looking at Joe Burrow, and last week
was a weird one. All these fantasy people getting mad
in my playoffs.
Speaker 5 (26:38):
Joe Burrow let me down, boob, it doesn't matter. It's
gonna be fine.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Now now I've added another character like the very youthful
fantasy player. But I'm looking at Joe Burrow's ability to
diagnose and figure out the defense.
Speaker 5 (26:49):
It seems like there's potentially I'm gonna call it a fire.
Speaker 6 (26:51):
Sale in Miami.
Speaker 5 (26:53):
Let's who's like some finance terms. It's maybe it's not great.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Things aren't don't feel great there, vibes aren't strong. So
I think Joe Burrow has a strong game.
Speaker 4 (27:02):
Oh and yet her I thought my season was gonna
be then he came back, and he looks so good
when you get on the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
The voice episode of Game debut, Let's go to a
bird Fest in the desert, the Falcons and Cardinals. I
will ride solo here with the Atlanta Falcons. I think
they win by two twenty five for twenty three Airzon Cardinals.
Folks have given up the most rushing yards in the
NFL since Week ten. They're playing against John Robinson, who, yeah,
is one of the top running backs in the NFL.
(27:28):
I'm sure you're pretty familiar with his game. And also,
Kirk Cousins is doing what he does and that set
himself up for the best payday available. That's why Todd
Bowles was stringing expletives because once again Kirk Cousins is
dis en up his defense. And yeah, it's Kirk tom
It's that time of year.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
Here comes pressure Minshew Stance Tall throws downfield Turwit James
and the game derwin, and the game.
Speaker 7 (27:55):
Derwin second consecutive week.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
The Chargers end the game on an interception.
Speaker 7 (28:04):
For all intents and purposes, the Chiefs are not going
to be part of the postseason for the first time
since twenty fourteen.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Now it's the Chargers in Cowboys and Arlington. Dallas has
a one percent chance to make the playoffs. According to
Next ten sets, the Bolts just beat last year's Super
Bowl teams and back to back weeks. Do they beat
the other team that beat last year's Super Bowl teams
and back to back weeks? Are there this season?
Speaker 3 (28:27):
Whatever answer means that the Bolts win by one point
is the answer that I'm going with.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
Twenty six to twenty five is my score in this one.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
I just want to talk about lad McConkie because if
you look at the opportunity against this Dallas defense, especially
if they're missing any pieces up rn, of course they are.
Speaker 5 (28:43):
You know, we don't know if Quinn Williams will play.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
He's been in the concussion protocol, but things get better
first quarterback if he doesn't have to deal with that pressure.
We know justin Hert's been under just a ton of pressure,
the most hits, the most pressures in.
Speaker 5 (28:54):
The league, and tied to most sacks.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
But lad McConkie will create separation in a secondary that
has been some games on a milk card. So I'm
looking for a big game out of the second year receiver.
I think this will be a fun one if you're
a Chargers fan, perhaps a little frustrating if.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
You are a Dallas Cowboys fan.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
So often you know you focus on the negative them
giving up a lot of pressure. How about the pressure
that the Los Angeles Chargers are creating on defense.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
This is a defense first team.
Speaker 4 (29:22):
I like the Chargers to win this game twenty three
to twenty one in part because of Khalil mack A,
Dafeoay Tully, Tully Polow two.
Speaker 5 (29:31):
Good job.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Look the first two names I said there rather Mac
and Tully Polow two. They are among the top ten
pass rushers in a number of metrics in terms of
tackles for loss, pressures, sacks like it's as good a
duo as there is basically in the league. And then
you add Oay in and a lot of times last
week they're just rushing those three players and no one else,
(29:52):
and Oway is rushing in the interior. You're dropping eight
into coverage, and they're creating pressure just the three of them.
Consider the mathematical advantage that is creating, and I think
they could do it on Sunday against a Cowboys team
that is not protecting Dak Prescott as well.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Right now, Yeah, that would be four straight wins for
the Chargers, which I also have them getting in the offense.
We do have some concerns about the Chargers offense, but
those concerns all drift away when you face the twenty
twenty five Dallas Cowboys d They've given up more passing
yards than anyone else, despite being eleventh in terms of
number of attempts that they've faced from opposing quarterbacks who
(30:30):
have a passer rating of one hundred and nine. The
film thirty one touchdowns to only six interceptions, essentially like
nineteen ninety seven Brett farv numbers by the quarterbacks that
have played against the Dallas Cowboys defense, except the Cowboys
haven't gotten any of the interceptions that far have, like
the toss to the other.
Speaker 6 (30:48):
Teams Ranny drive by for five.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
No, well, maybe he's earned it. The Cowboys loss last
week provided the Eagles the inside track to the NFC
East Crown Philly has had their struggles recently, but they
got the hottest gift of the holiday season on the schedule.
The Raiders hurts calling for the football. He's back again,
he looks, he fires, and it is complete touchdown. Hey
(31:13):
J Brown twenty seven yards.
Speaker 7 (31:16):
Boy, that's just such harmony, the rhythm, the timing, the
placement of the football.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
It's a play you can't even stop Philly, heading to
the Nation's Capitol and take on the Commander's Saturday. Washington's
shelf Jayden Daniels earlier this week, so Smarcus Mario starting
once again for Washington. They've been in some games, Greg,
are they in this one?
Speaker 4 (31:37):
They are not because I think the Eagles defense is
so good. They keep the score low. It's thirty to nine.
But it's the offense of the Eagles that I really
like lately. If you saw what Jalen Hurts did against
the Raiders, and yes it is the Raiders, but let's
be real, the Commander's defense isn't that much better. They
got under center and that can help open up the
run game, but it really opened up Jalen Hurts and
(31:59):
the passing game in terms of the diversity of what
they can do. The top three games this year, Cynthia,
I'm which they were under send it you want to
know which three offensive performances were the very best. Yes,
in terms of EPA per playoff season, the three where
they were under center the most. It's a one to
one correlation causation. I think we can make the combination
(32:21):
Jalen Hurts, get him out of the shotgun we're gonna
do it against Washington.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
Causation correlation combination. We have like a full news segment here.
Speaker 6 (32:29):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
I too have the Eagles winning. I have it a
little bit closer twenty six to twenty though.
Speaker 6 (32:35):
Why.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
I don't think it's like some weird thing where it's
a very close fuck game. I think it's like one
of those last minute strange things that happen. I want
to see Saquon Barkley continue to be effective and useful
for this team.
Speaker 5 (32:46):
I know he had a stinger.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
I think he's off the injury report as of this recording.
I think he's going to play. So I'm looking at
his opportunity to kind of be the guy in the
playoffs that this team needs him to be. They need
to figure it out, especially with Lane Johnson out yet
again in this matchup, they're going to need to figure out, Okay,
what are the.
Speaker 5 (33:02):
Run principles that were to look at? This offense has
been weird, They've had some weirdness.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Things have been odd, But I think the thing that
is a stabilizing force would be getting sake one Barkley going,
especially as they look towards the postseason.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
I also it's unanimous. I have the Philadelphia Eagles. I've
got one more point than Cithy. I do have that
number of seven twenty six to nineteen. And yeah, it's
the Eagles defense and a big part of it being
Quenyon Mitchell. So I'm gonna talk Quenyon Mitchell because you
could watch five Eagles.
Speaker 5 (33:29):
Games and never see him exactly.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
He's given up seven completions since the week nine. By
that's as many past defend that passes defended as he
had nine. When you throw the ball at Quenyon Mitchell,
equal likelihood, he's gonna get the ball. His anthem the
ball as the player call. It's good.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
It's a great, great defensive. You come up with that stat?
Or was that next gen? Because that's pretty next.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
That's a next gen stat that's insight from NFL pro
Because yeah, I just wanted to talk to Quenyon Mitchell
confirmed my priors. So which one I need from statistics
to make me feel good about the things I already feel.
I don't look now but nine and the Vikings have
won two games in a row.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
J J.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
McCarthy has he officially turned the corner? He said, well,
he's got a fun match up with Jackson Dark and
the g met Our picks for Vikings, Giants, and the
rest of this weekend slate. Coming up next on game debut.
Speaker 3 (34:33):

Speaker 2 (34:35):
In Stride and a Beauty, What a Row? What a Cat?
Speaker 8 (34:39):
Shiney, And that's Philip Rivers with a touchdown pass Man
Knocks has a newborn beyonditary, beyond guitar.
Speaker 5 (35:09):
But hay to the barn.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Folks. This Christmas unwrapped all day football with the NFL
Holiday Games featuring Cowboys versus Commanders and Lions versus Vikings
on Netflix, then a primetime showdown on Prime Video Broncos
versus Chiefs, three games, one epic Holiday. For the full schedule,
visit watch dot NFL dot com. Here on our show,
(35:39):
it's time for quick picks. Let's start with the Vikings,
who beat those Dallas Cowboys and the Giants. It's nine
versus Dart should be a fun one. Minnesota's won two
in a row. Do they make it three cent.
Speaker 6 (35:49):
In they do?
Speaker 3 (35:51):
I'm kind of surprising my model picking just a two
point win for Minnesota in this one twenty to twenty.
But let's talk about nine here for a second, because
he's had some really interesting Now, I don't know if
I really like this move because he was trying to
get the top down to Justin Jefferson to do the
actual greedy but like it did work. But ultimately what
we're seeing is the thing that does matter as in
scoring the touchdowns. That is what he is able to do. Also,
(36:16):
I saw CJ. Ham score a touchdown for them in
the red area this week. So if you're looking for
a quarterback that potentially could be a good fantasy pickup for.
Speaker 5 (36:22):
You, maybe JJ McCarthy runs it in on this one,
because if you're looking at CJ.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Hamp, I'm thinking maybe they're going to be creative in
the red area with runs in and you know you
can run on. I promise the Giants defense that I
would talk about how bad their run defense is until
they fix it.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
They're not fixing it.
Speaker 6 (36:36):
So I have to mention it.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
Yeah, promise kept and we all oddly enough having the
Giants with exactly twenty points. The Bills and Browns Buffalo
came back from down twenty one last week to beat
your patriots. Greg, do they roll here?
Speaker 6 (36:47):
They do?
Speaker 4 (36:48):
And they do it because of the ground game against
a good Browns defense, And I think Josh Allen is
quietly building that case. He's in the MVP conversation Patrick
Claybon is adding points week after week, and I think
you should get extra points by taking out one of
the best defenses in the league. He has just put
his cape on. They've been pressing the button. In that
(37:08):
game against the Bengals, it was an incredible comeback against
the Patriots, and I just feel like, end of the season,
Josh Allen is the best player in the world and
if he just keeps doing that week after week, forget
the narratives.
Speaker 6 (37:22):
Maybe they just give him the award at the end
because he's just that kid.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
Let's go to the Jets and says, don't look now,
but New Orleans has won two in a row. Do
they make it three in a rows?
Speaker 6 (37:30):
Of they do?
Speaker 3 (37:31):
I actually really like this one this week. I have
a five point win for the Saints twenty four to nineteen.
I think Tyler Shuck is really making the case that
he's the quarterback for them to build around for next season.
I'm looking at his ability to just really make things
happen with his legs. He's finding receivers with a lot
of open grass in front of them.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
To run.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
They beat the Panthers, who don't know who the Panthers are,
but at least Tyler Shuck does because they beat them
both times this season.
Speaker 5 (37:57):
So I'm looking at Tyler Shuck and saying, you.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
Know, he started like really maybe when we were doing
like our draft evaluation, I like, I liked his ability.
We look at his Louisville film and map it out here.
Perhaps that's something we're next season. They can make it
even better for him, give him more, surround him with
more to work with.
Speaker 4 (38:14):
I didn't like him much, and I'm taking that l early.
I thought he would struggle against pressure. He had all
the injuries. He's an older rookie quarterback.
Speaker 5 (38:23):
Old people are cool, and you know what, he looks.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
Like, a very athletic, ready to go quarterback who's not
afraid to make throws at the tight windows.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
And also direct the same situation, because watching the Louisville take,
you see a guy who was dealing with those injuries.
Maybe he was still dealing with them because he's moving
around really great, running the ball very well here down
the stretch for the Saints. Let's go to the Chiefs
and Titans case eliminated from playoff contention last week, Patrick
Mahomes has been placed on IR. The surgery is pending,
and I think Tennessee actually gets the win here by
(38:54):
a score of nineteen seventeen. I am fine being by
myself because I wonder just how much are we gonna
invest in these veteran Chiefs players playing late into the
season where they've been eliminated from playoff contention. You're watching
this ground game and how it's operated with Patrick Mahomes
were the most explosive runner for the Kansas City Chiefs,
(39:14):
was wearing fifteen, the MVPs, the Super Bowl MVPs, everything
that Patrick Mahomes has been able to do, he was
doing all of it for the Chiefs this season. I
don't know if Gardner Minshew duplicates that, and I understand
it's against the Titans. I'm fine.
Speaker 4 (39:28):
There's been a lot of new ground, a lot of
low moments for the chief this season. I think being
the very last game mentioned in the E block of
this show with Patrick taking the two win Titans over
them like that is that is new territory.
Speaker 6 (39:42):
The Chiefs have not been here.
Speaker 3 (39:43):
I think the Chiefs defense is still the best unit
in this game, so that's why I think a lower
scoring game.
Speaker 5 (39:47):
But the Chiefs sneak it out.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
Min I'm on Mitch Hols. This's list of dollars and
disrespectors in the Kansas City Chiefs, So I don't think
it's anything. It's strange with regards to that coming up.
You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.
Shout out to the simmy side. It's not for the
final blow. Well, write this down a segment featuring our
favorite prop bets of the week. I know who I
(40:10):
want to take me home? Take me home, Greg Rose, Adalph.
That's some picks for write this down. Our game debut
coming up next on NFL No.
Speaker 6 (40:17):
One.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
Time for us to write this down as into our
favorite PROMP predictions for Week sixteen that leadoff Grid.
Speaker 4 (40:31):
Okay, Justin Herbert this week against the Dallas Cowboys. I
think he's been playing like an MVP, but the numbers
haven't been there lately. This week, it all happens. Not
much of a pass rush for Dallas. I think Herbo
goes god mode. He goes over three hundred yards, so
he definitely goes over two forty four and to me,
he's on my MVP ballot, not the winner, but you
vote one through five. He's in my top five, and
(40:53):
I think he puts some numbers behind him.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
I'm glad I get a vote. Anyways, I'm looking at
Jamar Chase. He doesn't see the end zone.
Speaker 6 (40:59):
A while.
Speaker 5 (41:00):
We had that weird game from Joe Brow. I don't
care he's gonna score a touchdown against the Dolphin. I
know last week Joe Brow's like, I don't know if
I want to do this, blah blah blah blah blah.
It doesn't matter. Merry Christmas. Get in the end zone
for Uno.
Speaker 4 (41:11):
Now this is the big one because Patrick Clayban is
twelve and four, let's gotten write this down this year,
and seventeen and nine on Stray Bond.
Speaker 6 (41:18):
So this is the big one. Here we go.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
I mean, honestly, they're all big, they're all important, and
I think that Filks have been given an opportunity because
you go back, it hasn't happened since the game against
the Dallas Cowboys. That's Devonsa Smith going ohy receiving yards,
and because it hasn't happened since then, the number gets
all the way down the sixties. So I think it's
a great opportunity for you to get another chance. For
Debonza Smith, I guess another secondary that's had its share
(41:42):
of problems.
Speaker 5 (41:43):
Here in problematic things.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
Things haven't necessarily gone great, but it's been great for
you to spend time with us here on game debut.
For Cynthia and Greg, I'm Patrick. We'll see you next week.
Enjoy the games, everybody.
