Speaker 1 (00:04):
NFL Game Deview is a production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Happy Holidays, everybody, Welcome to game debut. Patrick clay About
here with Greg Rosenhalen, Cynthia Freeland here in the Chris
Wesley Podcast studio. We enjoy football, and what better time
to spend this time with football because.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Football is family. Talking about these games with all these
folks and.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
You guys outside of my family, there's no one I
would rather be celebrating Christmas and picking games with.

Speaker 5 (00:32):
Agreed, This is a model favorite show on the network.
This is the best one. I love it so much.
You guys are the best here and you guys at
home as well.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
They're ribbing me for my choice of children.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
All had a conversation earlier speaking of all my favorite children.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Here, let's talk about some picks.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I was able to go eleven and five last week
in the Picks, while Greg Rosendal Sydney Freeland both went
ten and six, maintaining my lead and that reluctant extending
your lead, Crown, that's.

Speaker 6 (00:58):
A big lead.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
This would be his first championship. This is we're getting
close here.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
On Yes, I will have to try extra hard to
figure things out, you know, taking between favorite TV shows
and children.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
It's always tough to make decision.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
It's always tough to decide which game we should talk
about first in the show.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
But this week it was easy.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Chicago fans who officially have our attention, CATU.

Speaker 7 (01:22):
Play faint, look at the throw, going deep searching for
DJ Moore over the shoulder, catch me touchdowns, hits over
at Soldier Field, the Iceman, come it, the Iceman take it.
Top forty six yard spirals to the end zone to
Dj Moore, twenty two to sixteen.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Bears a while to come back by the Cardiac Bears
last week. Now they've got the Niners Sunday night in
Santa Clair. The number one seed still a possibility for
both teams. So who gets a little closer in that aspect, Grig.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
I think the San Francisco forty nine ers do, setting
up the battle with the Seahawks potentially for the one seed,
and it's because of rock Party. Brock Purty, since he
came back from injury, has put up production that matches
any quarterback in the entire NFL. But what I've really
liked out of him is his decision making. Sometimes He's
a guy who has a little too much dip on

(02:16):
his chip. He tries throws that he can't really make,
that his body can't cash. And yet lately I don't
think he's been making those decisions. He's just finding open
receivers because of his play caller, because of the healthy,
skilled position players around and hopefully George Kittle is close
to one hundred percent for this game.

Speaker 6 (02:34):
And if you give.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
Rock Purdy good pass protection, he is going to dice
you up. This is a mature offense with Trent Williams
playing his best ball, and I think against a Bears
team that does not rush the passer, well, I think
they win. And I think Kyle Shanahan gets a little
closer to Coach of the Year who Well, extra take
there for you.

Speaker 8 (02:53):
I like that extra take.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
You have six points, I think is your differential. I
have a four point win for the forty nine.

Speaker 8 (02:58):
Ers in this one. Let's just talk about.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Christian McCaffrey, and let's just talk about the fact that
not enough people are at least speaking into existence for him.

Speaker 8 (03:06):
To be the MVP.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
What's the guy gotta do? What's he got to do?
He has the most touches in the league batch like
more than thirty. He's doing on the ground through the year.
It doesn't matter. Why is brock Purty and his chip
dipping ways get to succeed the way they do because
you've got Christian McCaffrey to back clean up for you
or do whatever you need to make it happen.

Speaker 8 (03:26):
Defenses all season long.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
Have been well aware that Christian McCaffrey is going to
be the focal point of the offense, and look at
his results, you can't stop him. So I'm looking at
Christian McCaffrey and I'm saying, whoever's voting for these things,
don't settle for Comeback Player of the Year, don't even
settle for offensive player.

Speaker 8 (03:43):
He should be the MVP. They wouldn't be in this
but for CMC. They wouldn't be in this position.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Yes, like many times, the best receiver on the field
for either team a big part of the game. I'm
still taking the Bears, then, Yeah, I'm taking the Bears.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Twenty three to twenty one.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
It's very difficult to project turnovers, but these Bears make
them and take the ball away at the highest rate
in the NFL. Jalen Johnson giving up a passer rating
of sixty five. So teams are like, okay, let's throw
over here at this who is this Nashan?

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Right, he's wearing number twenty six. They need to stop
doing that.

Speaker 8 (04:15):
Right, it's wrong.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Yes, right is the wrong option.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
He leads to the league in interceptions brought takes risks,
the team invites those risks to be taken. I think they,
of course are going to give up some yards, as
the Bears do, but they get a couple of balls
that they shouldn't perhaps, and they lean on DeAndre Swift
and that explosive run game and get a win and
oddly enough an inside track at the number one overall seed.

(04:39):
Those Chicago Bears. The Bears and Niners could be an
instant classic on Sunday night. The Bears have played a
couple over the last few weeks. We also got some
Saturday games this week, including.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
A mega matchup in the AFC.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
This Saturday, the playoff Pitcher coming into focus on NFL Network.

Speaker 6 (04:54):
CJ.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Stroud and the Houston Texans take on Justin Herbert and
the Chargers. Rich and Kurt will be on the call
with kickoff at four.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Thirty pm Eastern.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Game day kickoffs starts at two pm this Saturday only
on NFL Network. So let's discuss this game a touch
more in the AFC between the Texans and the Chargers.
Both squads have clinch spots in the playoffs. Houston has
won seven straight. Do they go into Sofar and make
it eight in a row?

Speaker 8 (05:19):
Sin they go into Sofi. It's very dramatic.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
It's Saturday, people are very full, and they're done opening
presence the whole day, and they take over the game.

Speaker 8 (05:28):
Twenty one to twenty. A low scoring matchup.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
Both defenses very formidable in this one, but I think
it comes down to the duo of Will Anderson Junior
and Daniel Hunter. Why because, as the broken record Cynthia
Frieland says and everyone else, did you know Justin Herbert
has taken the most pressures and quarterback hits of any
quarterback this season?

Speaker 8 (05:48):
Oh yeah, we get it. When he's under pressure, he
throws interceptions.

Speaker 5 (05:51):
Oh yeah, okay, But ultimately this is a different kind
of pressure.

Speaker 8 (05:54):
It's coming from multiple directions. They don't need to bliss.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
They can use their great secondary to back up what
happens upfront.

Speaker 8 (06:00):
So I'm looking at this, oh this defensive front and that.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
Oh, and I'm thinking advantage Houston in this matchup.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
I agree.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
I have a Texans win three points twenty two to nineteen.
Because there's teams that have great pass rushers, there's teams
that have great players in the secondary, but there's no
team that melds both of them together quite.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Like the Houston Texans.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
I will take Damiko Ryans over Greg Roman in this
matchup every single day, and three times this Saturday night
on the NFL Network. Herbert has thrown nine picks against
zone this season between Stingley and Lasseter and the way
that these guys rush the pass. Because the pressure numbers
show one thing with the Houston Texans, but pressures, especially
on next ten stats are kind of a proximity alert alert.

(06:44):
But when it's Danil Hunter and lill Anderson Junior moving
at the speed they do, their proximity.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
A little different than everybody else's. Greg.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
I thought this was the toughest game to pick of
the year, especially because a year in the platt Or
of the Week at the very time. Okay, I love
these two teams. I think they can each go to
the super Bowl. But you think about that playoff matchup
a year ago, and you think about how Justin Hurtert
was embarrassed and now he's ready for revenge. The Chargers
win a close, low scoring game twenty to seventeen. We're
gonna just greg it up. On Saturday, NFL Network, Herbert

(07:15):
put him in the MVP voting conversation. He's at least
in my top five, maybe in my top three. And
what was the takeaway from that playoff game a year ago?

Speaker 6 (07:23):
Said, Oh, all we.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Got to do We just got to fix this protection
and then we'll be fine.

Speaker 6 (07:27):
Everything's caving in on the inside. That's the one thing
we're gonna do. Hey, they didn't fix any of it.
They're worse this year.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
And you know who's rising above it all. As much
as I love CJ. Stroud, Justin Herbert is at a
similar level in terms of his talent, but.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
He's further along in his maturity, his experience.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
He is playing outstanding, he's overcoming his teammate, and he
has a great defense backing him up this year. That's
one difference to Chargers get the victory.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Are the Texans and Chargers jockeying for better playoff seating.
Another team in the mix, the Buffalo Bills, and you
know Josh Allen always ready to cape up.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Has to put on the cape every single week. That's
a lot to put on his shoulders.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Just play the game, don't go into it and feel
like you've got to be Superman, Superman.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
Superhuman for his powerful throw on the cape and see
that the work puts out Buffalo Alan looking for.

Speaker 7 (08:21):
The end z Oe in how is he not your
MVP in the coat Shamas he can send I.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Mentioned true, he's an alien, isn't he?

Speaker 6 (08:30):
Josh Allen is Superman. Nobody contests jumped on his.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Back like he was Superman.

Speaker 6 (08:37):
No good snow Glory, double.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Break, Josh Allen does it again.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Superman, Superhuman, most powerful, powerful.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Josh Allen Superman mean some dangerous things for his hometown
of Fireball, California. Everybody's safe there but his bills play
host of the Eagles on Sunday, the matchup Cynthia's preseason
Super Bowl prediction. Wow, it could still happen.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
So what happens on Sunday look at a lot better
than my preseason prediction.

Speaker 6 (09:03):
Ravens Lion.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
I think the Eagles win this game because they've started
to look over the last couple of weeks like they
did late last season because of Saquon Barkley. I just
love what I saw in that game against the Commanders,
especially him breaking tackles, him closing the game out with
some explosive runs.

Speaker 6 (09:23):
It was the Saquon we got used to scene for
a while.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
If you were looking at the next gen stats after
these games, it's a lot of rush yards under expected,
like a lot of negative last week, way over expected.
I think the line is going to be better because
Lane Johnson expected to return this week.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
But maybe it's something about this time of year.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
It's when Jalen Hurts plays his best, and it's starting
to look like it's when Saquon Barkley plays his best
like he did late last season.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
I am right there with you, Greg, I've got a
big win by the Eagles thirty one to twenty six.
Because even in scenarios where Superman was facing great odds.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
There was a need for a Justice League.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
You needed the Green Lantern Batman, everybody to be involved.
You look around on the Buffalo Bills, there's not always
anywhere to be found, and he was limited in practice
this week, got X rays at halftime, and then the
Bill's defense has to go out there and contend with
not just say Kwan Barkley, but AJ Brown, who's been
targeted at a very high rate when the opposing team

(10:22):
lines up in single high coverage thirty percent for Jalen
Hurts looking in AJ Brown's direction. He's had over four
hundred yards and two touchdowns against zone coverage since Week nine.
Things have picked up late this season. I think he
gives the Bills secondary problems again in this one.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
Well, I guess Bills fans please come help me out
because I'm gonna pick you guys to win. So sorry,
Eagles fans, I'm going prime number here a three point
win for Buffalo at home. So I understand it's very
unlikely that the Bills could get the one seed, but
that could mean that they're playing with a nice level
of ease and fun and looking at their tight ends.

(10:59):
This is where the past catching needs to step up.
With Josh Allen's foot being maybe not one hundred percent,
maybe they're rushing won't be as reliable.

Speaker 8 (11:07):
What does Joe Brady do?

Speaker 5 (11:08):
He goes into the little you know area of like, hey,
I'd like Josh Allen to do this with his Superman stats.
Let's just throw two our tight ends. Dalton Kinka last
week Fantasy Owners is not so great for them. He
had exactly zero catches on one target. But we've seen
some really fun, dynamic things from all.

Speaker 8 (11:25):
Of their tight ends.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
Dawson Knox, Jackson Hawes like really fun names too to say,
But ultimately it's that level of the defense that they're
going to try to target. I'm not suggesting that it's
good to pass against the Eagles evens. I'm just saying
that Josh Allen is a kind of one of those
matchup proof people, and the tight ends will be.

Speaker 8 (11:42):
The way that he goes up against them.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
All right, Well, Sam for Ru's even Good presented by Applebee's.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Is Josh Allen limited to just one hundred and thirty
passing yards last week against the Cleveland Browns? Does he
throw for over or under one ninety five against the Eagles.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
We're going over baby. With that hurt foot, there's less
reliance on the run. I'm not suggesting he's not going
to run, but I don't think it's going to be
as no fewer designed rushes per se. But I'm also
looking at trying to target different areas, different levels of
the defense to get quick completions, so it might not
be like some crazy dpass.

Speaker 8 (12:16):
I think it's going to be a series of shorter
passes to keep his foot.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Okay, two man rush coming here for this.

Speaker 6 (12:24):
Shut his golf guns towards the end.

Speaker 8 (12:25):
Zion caught tackled short of the end, Zil.

Speaker 9 (12:28):
There is a flag as I'm on ross seat praps,
Oh did they called the whistle? There was a nateral
ruling on the field. Is a touchdown? However halfway three
hunder fourteen on the offense. By rule that penalty is
not enforced and there is no replay. The game is over.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
There is no touchdown.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Very clear explanation as we get to seize the season
presented by a Caesar or sportsbook. As we look at
the first touchdown score odds between those Detroit Lions and
the Minnesota Vikings, Jumier Gibbs, I'm on the ros Saint Brown,
David Montgomery leading the way, also with some belief in
Aaron Jones. And then it's back to the Lions again
with Jamis and Williams at plus nine hundred, Detroit almost

(13:12):
eking out that when last week, pending a couple of
offensive pass interference calls. Now they need to win out
and have the Packers lose out for a shot at
the playoffs. They've got the Vikings and Max Brozmer On
Christmas Day, Cynthia, does your team keep hope alive here?

Speaker 6 (13:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (13:28):
I mean is hope is hopeful?

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Lot?

Speaker 5 (13:29):
Anyways, I have them winning twenty seven to twenty seven
point win.

Speaker 6 (13:34):
Do I love it? Yes? Yes I do.

Speaker 8 (13:37):
I don't care. It's still Christmas. I love the Lions.
It's totally fine.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
I'm looking at this situation and you know, look, Jared Goff,
we haven't given him enough. He didn't make the Pro Bowl.

Speaker 6 (13:47):
That seems ridiculous, not a ridiculous at all. Who you
taking off? You back?

Speaker 5 (13:53):
No?

Speaker 8 (13:53):
But I don't know, at least I don't know. I
feel like it was a slight.

Speaker 5 (13:56):
The man's been playing very well, considering everyone on the
defense has been I don't know, watching from the sidelines
or their hospital.

Speaker 8 (14:03):
Rooms, unfortunate.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
It's been play great. I do want to put that
on the record.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
Yes, he has to pay, but I will I will
say in this one he's gonna look better against the Blitz.
Last week against the Pittsburgh Blitz, we saw something weird.
He was like four for twelve or like thirty three
yards something crazy. That is not normal for him. This
is a guy who usually top two, top three in
the league against the Blitz in almost every single metric.

Speaker 8 (14:21):
They're used to the Minnesota Blitz.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
So I think it looks very good, and yes, I
still love my lines, even though the only thing worse.
I'm going to tell you, the only thing worse than
watching that play was the fact that my neighbors whatever
they're watching on is ten seconds.

Speaker 8 (14:35):
Ahead of me.

Speaker 6 (14:36):
Oh, you can imagine party foul.

Speaker 8 (14:39):
I I what it was awful. So somebody get me
better Internet for Christmas.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
You're mad Jared Goff didn't make the Pro Bowl. Yeah,
want Sam Darnold off or something.

Speaker 7 (14:48):
I don't.

Speaker 8 (14:48):
I just want him on. I'm not trying to take
someone off.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
That's how it works when people you know, you got
to take someone off to put someone on. You're just
lucky that Max Brozmer hasn't been starting all year, or
he might have gotten one of those Pro Bowls spots.

Speaker 6 (15:00):
It's gonna be a holiday miracle. Max Brosberg covers on
the Big Day.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Look at that seventeen to Justin Jefferson, not a lot
of other big highlights.

Speaker 6 (15:11):
Last week screens really.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Doled it up.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
We should just be replaying the third and seventeen opposite
hash to JJ. Look, Justin Jefferson made about four or
five plays in that game that only Justin Jefferson can make.
I think Max Brozemer can run the offense, and most
importantly here, and I know I'm talking about Broemer even
though I.

Speaker 6 (15:28):
Have the Lions winning. Uh, he's playing a defense which
is that been at the very bottom of the league.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
It's a lot of talk about Dan Campbell in the
running game and Jared Goff when the defense has been
really their problem lately.

Speaker 5 (15:39):
If your a Lions fan has a problem with Dan
Campbell or anyone in the offense, see me, see me
in my office.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Oh no, oh, something's ready to fight. I am.

Speaker 6 (15:46):
I'm liquid rolling off and becaps.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Especially after Greg gives the false choice that's imposed on everybody, Well,
we can't we can't give this person what he deserves,
because then we can't.

Speaker 6 (15:56):
Get there's literally a leader on the promo.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
It's a choice to facilitate that particular circumstance.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
I hate when people are like, oh, you got to
put him on the probo without saying who you're gonna
take off?

Speaker 6 (16:07):
There's only three spots we are.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Critique is of something else. We're we're critiquing something else.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
My model also indicates the Lions win here because Aiden
Hutchinson and this Lion's titt. Unfortunately, they couldn't close it
out against the Steelers. But Aiden Hutchinson in the fourth
quarter has more pressures than anybody else in the NFL
thirty nine pressures in the fourth quarter, seven more than
any other player. The lines are getting it up and
unfortunately for twenty twenty five NFL League MVP Max Brozmer,

(16:35):
according to NFL Networks Greg Rosenthal in, Hutchinson.

Speaker 8 (16:38):
Is gonna make that diff Hope they gets picked up.

some quick picks for the two other Christmas Day games.
We will start with the Cowboys and Commanders. Dallas was
officially eliminated from playoff contention last week. But they're playing

(17:30):
for pride, Greg, It's Christmas and this is America's team.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
What happened?

Speaker 6 (17:34):
They're also playing for numbers. You know who made the
Pro Bowl. George Pickens. What a season, what a story.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
They put up thirty one points and I think they
entertain the masses with an offensive shootout.

Speaker 6 (17:44):
I love Pickens's.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
Catches he had last week where there was a late
back shoulder. Look at his late speed here where he
separates right as the ball gets there and makes it
look like it was an easy throw. All along, every
target to George Pickens is entertaining. You never know what's
going to happen. And between him and Ceedee Lamb, I
just think you see a lot of points against a
vulnerable Commanders defense.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Christmas Night, the Broncos and the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Denver had their eleven game wins streaks snapped last week
against Trevor Lawrence and the Jags.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
Do they bounce back some field, Yes, they bounced back,
and they bounced back big. They still want a shot
at that number one seed, so that the Super Bowl
would have to go through Denver. So bo Nicks, what
we've seen from him is improve it now. The first
two the first beginning of the end is the first
two go passes looked incredible last week. Then things got
a little bit left. Now we need to see them

(18:34):
get back in rhythm because if this team wants to
have those Super Bowl aspirations that Sean Payton talked about
ahead of the season, then they're going to need to
keep him in rhythm. And I think this is a
good opportunity against the Chiefs team that's you know, this
is not the Chiefs team we're usually used to.

Speaker 8 (18:47):
Talking about, but they still have They also have pride,
you know. Pride is that's the thing. So I'm looking
at them and even though it's not the same game
we were thought, it's still be one.

Speaker 6 (18:54):
How do they get to eight points? Patcher?

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Well, I think I think they're going to go for two.
They get a touchdown, they go for two. It's late.
Andy Reid has a lot of pride about it.

Speaker 6 (19:04):
Travis Kelsey octopus in his last game.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Yes ahead, statum, Wow, congratulations. Not a great career.

Speaker 6 (19:12):
I know not that pill sare, but it could be.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Probably It's Ravens Packers Saturday night in Lambeau. Baltimore needs
to win out for a shot at the playoffs. Green
Bay trying to hold on to that seventh seed in
the NFC. Both team star quarterbacks questionable?

Speaker 3 (19:25):
How's this one go? Considering what we do know right now, Cynthia.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
We know that at least Jordan Loves been practicing, same
with Josh Jegob. So that helps me feel better about
my model picking Green Bay to win twenty four to
twenty in this matchup.

Speaker 8 (19:38):
But one thing I kind of know is what.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
This defense looks like now though Micah Parss isn't there, right,
we saw a change that we have to figure some
things out. Of course, the Bears mount of this massive
comeback last week, what did we see? Well, I think
that they got I mean they're seeing that's a pretty
good guy who's they missed. But ultimately Jeff Hafley will
have some answers. Be they simulated pressures, which is something
we saw a lot of last season. But I do

(20:01):
think that one game adjustment or two game adjustment that
needed to happen. So that now going forward against the Ravens,
and we know Derek Henry is going to run for
hopefully be on the field for more of it if
you're a Ravens fan. But ultimately I think that the
defense will get right in this situation.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
The ideal matchup in terms of the quarterbacks would obviously
be Jordan Love versus Lamar Jackson. Yes, but you can
shake up any matchup in terms of the quarterbacks that
you want. And I am still picking the Packers in
this game. I have it twenty seven to twenty three,
but it ends up being Tyler Huntley starting. You know,
I make it over seven and whatever the number is.
It's partly because the Packers are just a more balanced

(20:39):
team overall. I trust their defense, even without Michael Parsons,
to make it difficult, and I trust this guy Emmanuel
Wilson to contribute in the running game. Josh Jacobs is practicing.
It's probably gonna be a one to two punch, but
he is a really good downhill tough runner. Ultimately, I
think the Packers are a Super Bowl contending type of team,
whereas the Ravens have the look of a team that

(21:01):
they're just not going to get it done this season.
And sometimes at the end of a season like that,
it goes sideways in a big way when you're playing
another competitive team. So I like the Packers no matter
what happens at quarterback.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Yeah, I have also taken the Green Bay Packers here.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
The twenty four to nineteen For me, the Ravens up
the four flowest pressure rate in the entire league going
into Week seventeen.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Considering that everything.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
This defense has been able to do as good as
the numbers have looked, they had that streak of keeping
teams under twenty points, it was a huge anomaly to
accomplish the things that they have been able to accomplish.
That Drake may kind of exposed that lack of a
pass rush last week. If it is Jordan Love, you know,
more power to the Green Bay Packers in their passing game.
And I think if we were to expect again having

(21:44):
this conversation before we know anything if Lamar was going
to be able to play in this game, and he
probably would have come back in against the New England Patriots.
So perhaps a season an offseason of new beginnings for
the Baltimore Ravens. We go from the Ravens to the
team they're chasing in the AFC North, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsburgh went into Detroit last week and made magic.

Speaker 6 (22:07):
Happen for Rodgers back and he's gonna throw right and
deep again.

Speaker 8 (22:14):
A lot of contact downfield.

Speaker 6 (22:16):
Did Gagwell catch that?

Speaker 3 (22:17):
He did? Holy mackerel. He was laying down on the ground.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Soup Pine caught it, picked it up, ran it into
the end zone.

Speaker 6 (22:26):
It oh, I think the cat caught it.

Speaker 8 (22:29):
It hit his right elbow, bounced up into his body.

Speaker 6 (22:32):
He's spun up. This is incredible.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
The Steelers held on to be the Lions twenty nine
to twenty four last week. They're in the driver's seat
in the AFC North. They've got a big one with
the Browns on Sunday, but they will not have dk
Metcalf due to his two game suspension that was upheld
in the middle of the week.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
So what happens in this clash, Greg.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
I think DK's absence hurts them.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
It's a man to man defense for the Browns, but
ultimately it's the Steelers defense that keeps the score low.
It's twenty three to thirteen for the Pittsburgh Steelers in
this game because Aaron Rodgers is playing his best ball
of the year.

Speaker 6 (23:04):
A pairaphrase a very famous tweet back in the day.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
I unfortunately, I think you do have to hand it
to him, you know, yeah, drill getting it done. I'm
not putting Aaron Rodgers at the same you know, level
of a public enemy as what was referred to in
that tweet.

Speaker 6 (23:20):
But look at these long passes. It's been a different offense.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Everyone's been killing him for his average depth of target
all season and how quickly he's getting rid of the ball.

Speaker 6 (23:29):
If you look at the numbers over.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
The last three weeks, they're back way up in terms
of where he's throwing the ball.

Speaker 6 (23:35):
They're hitting some third and tens.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
They've been more aggressive, he's been more willing to hold
the ball, and I think that's really important as they
go down the stretch.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
Run how many times this year has my score been
lower than yours for any anyway. So I have twelve
points for Cleveland, I have twenty for Pittsburgh. A very
low scoring game is what I project. Looking at Jalen
Warren his ability to catch, especially.

Speaker 8 (23:58):
Shorter passes you talked about, You've seen the numbers for
Aaron Rodgers. I also believe that they're sitting there being like,
do you really want the.

Speaker 5 (24:04):
Miles Garrett highlight of breaking the sack record to be
on you Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 8 (24:08):
Just like the Bills said it last week, I think
Aaron Rodgers is kind of thinking the same thing, like,
please don't have me be the guy in the low light.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
I don't want to be on the other the wrong
side of the highlight. He's likes to be on the
right side of highlight. Did you not see his postgame interviews. Yeah,
he likes to let you know. But ultimately I'm looking
at Jalen warrensville in the ability to be so multiple.
Both of these running backs really run game pass game.
That's gonna be a difference maker, especially in time of possession.
Now that poor quinch On Judkins, best wishes for him

(24:35):
a speedy recovery for next season.

Speaker 8 (24:36):
He was so fun to watch.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
It's gonna make it all the sweeter though, when Miles
Garrett just like rips around their fourth string left tackle
and sacks Aaron Rodgers without him even knowing it's coming.

Speaker 6 (24:45):
Because that's how good Miles Garrett is. It's gonna be
a big one.

Speaker 8 (24:47):
Well, well, Aaron Rodgers, I had a pretty good game
here ten years ago.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Yes, because if there's anything that Aaron Rodgers likes, it's
a titch An opportunity to talk about all things Aaron Rodgers,
and I think to Greg's point, Aaron Rodgers been playing
good football because the rest of the team around him
has been barely going, especially in the second I've got
the Steelers by seven. Going back, let's go to the
last couple of weeks in the second half day to
run a ball, great go back four weeks. The Steelers

(25:12):
are averaging six point two yards per carry in the
second half of these games, and Kenny G is not
just doing it well shout out to Kenny G's Holiday album,
but this is another Kenny G during the holiday season
is going off right now in the run and the
pass game.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Yes, you know.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
Unfortunately for Alexandeloni and Lions fancy he made that play,
but all around he's been one of the more consistent
parts of this offense. Yes, like the luxury is DK Metcalf,
but the meat and potatoes is Jalen Warren and Kenny.

Speaker 7 (25:40):
G Here comes their best two point play, Darnald throws
cod but the two points Eric sober.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
What a game.

Speaker 6 (25:52):
What a group, man, What a freaking football team you
guys are. What a football team, man, That's what we do, man.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
We see also with that remarkable comeback winning overtime against
the Rams last week at home.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
Now they're going across the country to take.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
On Carolina in the NFC South, where the Panthers have
the lead in the division. Now, Bryce Young's team has
slayed some giants recently to get out the big accent
chop down the Seahawks.

Speaker 6 (26:26):
They do not.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
Cinderella Slipper can be put back on next week against
the Bucks and they still win the division.

Speaker 6 (26:31):
But the Seahawks are in a different class.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
It's because of their head coach, Mike McDonald's I mentioned
Kyle Shanahan as a potential coach of the Year. I
think Week eighteen, Seahawks forty nine ers will not only
decide the one seed and the NFC West, but it
will decide coach of the Year, and my pick right
now would be the guy who took a team that
most people did not have in the playoffs, who's built

(26:53):
up his defense of the number one defense in the
league over the last two seasons, who's made great hires.
They have the best special teams in the league too,
and I think will be the type of team down
the stretch against a team like the Panthers who just
aren't as talented, who outclasses them. They see the finish line,
they'll know how important this game is. And as great
as the Panthers have been, they are limited defensively. I

(27:14):
think the Seahawks put up a lot of points and
win this game comfortably.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
I'm with you on all of that, especially so sometimes
I look at Mike McDonald and I realize he's only
thirty eight, but he like already looks like a wise
old man that you would want to be following. Anyways,
my score, I don't remember your margin. I have an
eight point margin. Twenty six to eighteen is mitt years
is a little bit bigger, But ultimately I'm looking at
the run game here. I think as much as we

(27:38):
talk about Sam Donald throwing, which he is great at,
especially when you have Jackson Smith and Jig. But what
they've really done is a foundation of running the football
with Kenneth Walker, who has had a year where he's
really You talk about people looking to get paid Kenneth
Walker anyone. Yeah, that's going to be a nice contract
for him going forward. So I'm looking at slowing the
game down and kind of hitting the Panthers where it

(27:59):
hurts the most, which is in the run game.

Speaker 8 (28:01):
And I think Kenneth Walker provides the foundation yet again
so that there's no turnovers, there's no weird stuff, and
I get it going because there's a big one. You
talked about the big one for the Panthers next week.
There is a huge one for the Seahawks next week
against the Niners.

Speaker 6 (28:13):
You didn't know this, but there might be a little
more Kenneth Walker later in the show. Oh that's a tease.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
That's a deep tease, and in fact deep teas.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
The rare potential double trap game for both teams is
maybe the effort questionable for everybody. I nothing fun here
going on. It's unanimous. I've got the Seahawks as well.
Twenty four to nineteen. I would like to look at
a great matchup that we're going to see in the
secondary in this game where JC Horn has a chance
to go up against Jackson Smith and Jigma in all
of the things he's accomplished through the air for the

(28:42):
Seattle Seahawks. Notice one thing about these JC Horn highlights.
None of them were from this game, this most recent
game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Why they threw at
him zero times? He covered Chris Godwin and Mike Evans.
Zero targets for j C.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
Horn.

Speaker 8 (28:59):
Wow, seems like a smart strategy. Yeah, don't throw in
his coverage.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
We'll see if Sam makes that decision coming up. Looking
forward to this game, it's time for the feel good
story of the Week, presented by Geico Cynthia. Which team's
quarterback more likely to throw two touchdowns in this game?

Speaker 3 (29:12):
Is it Sam or Bryce O?

Speaker 5 (29:14):
We have big scores for both of them, so I
think both easily could. But I'm looking at Sam Darnold
four two. You saw when the highlights, like you see
AJ Barner the barn Dog, you see him being lifted up.

Speaker 8 (29:24):
So of course, Jackson Smith.

Speaker 5 (29:25):
And Jigba has a really good opportunity to make it today.
I want to talk about the barn dog here because for.

Speaker 6 (29:30):
Me, aj Barner could be How about the barnyard dog. Nope,
just barn dog.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
I think it probably is the barnyard dog, but we're
changing it here because I messed it up and we're
just gonna go with that.

Speaker 8 (29:39):
The barnyard dog, I don't care.

Speaker 6 (29:40):
I like him.

Speaker 8 (29:41):
I think he gets in the enzoary dog.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
I'm seeing barnstormer, but barn dog works.

Speaker 8 (29:47):
I like barn we and dogs.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Barn dogs, se dog shout out to any dogs that
are in any barns within earshot of our voices. Right now,
let's look at the highest totals in week seventeen according
to our friends at Caesar Sportsbook.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
Congratulations on the Cincinnati Bengals. Once again, there you are
three points.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Second highest score Bears Niners looking forward to these games.
Let's make some quick picks here on game Dabu Rams
Falcons expecting to be high scoring as well.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
They score off Monday night in Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
S Sean mcvay's team looking to bounce back from last week.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Do they do it in the atl They absolutely do
and usually with the Rams, it's like, let's try to
pick something surprising and new. How about we just talk
about Matthew Stafford. I haven't done that enough this season.
Coming off a ridiculous performance against the Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 6 (30:32):
It is truly stupid that people think QB.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Wins should hurt him in the MVP conversation after that performance.
I mean he had some moments that shot against against
Tapuka Nakua, he had the one in overtime and then
this no look at the start of the fourth quarter.
Obviously the game went sideways, but he knows what Raheem
Morris's defense is.

Speaker 6 (30:53):
What kind of want to do. It's gonna blitz a lot.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
You can't really outsmart Matthew Stafford and blitz them. I
think he'll find some major problems in the top and secondary.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Let's go elsewhere in that division of the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers and the Dolphins. Tampa's lost six of the last seven.
There must win mode. Do they get that need that
they must get?

Speaker 6 (31:11):
They do?

Speaker 8 (31:12):
Twenty six to twenty one is the win for Tampa.

Speaker 5 (31:14):
I just want to talk Mike Evans for a minute,
because when you're thinking about the things that were different
and what's gotten better and his return has made a
huge difference.

Speaker 8 (31:23):
I mean, he's caught a touchdown last week.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
I know it wasn't in a win, but you're just
looking at the opportunity on the field to pass and
what Baker Mayfield's contending with, and it just is so
much better when you have Mike Evans.

Speaker 8 (31:34):
Plus thing's a little messy maybe in Miami, so I
think they take advantage of this and kind of figure
out a way to get Mike Evans going.

Speaker 4 (31:41):
I got a bad feeling about this. I might have
to flip my pick all right in Miami. Wine, I
just got a bad sor bad feelings.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Stay tuned to all your social channels. The Cardinals and
the Bengals in the Natty. Joe Burrow carved up the
Fins last week. I think they win again here with
they score of thirty two to twenty eight, and you.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
Know, a high score game as is projected.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
But let's talk about this Arizona Cardinals defense. It has
been a rough go down the stretch weeks thirteen, fourteen, fifteen,
and sixteen, the opponent has got seven yards per carry.
They've run for six hundred and three yards six touchdowns.
Pass defense hasn't been great either. I think the Bengals
put a huge number still to come.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Trevor Lawrence and the Jags the hottest team in the league,
so hot right now.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
They won sixth straight and a win against the Colts
Sunday would clinch the AFC South.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
But old man Rivers might have something to say about that.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Who wins Jagged Colts are thoughts coming up next on
game debut.

Speaker 9 (32:48):
Dropping looking close another back from the CTN talking about me,
mass out to the five.

Speaker 7 (32:53):
God put it all that touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, a ten
yard touchdown past the tame as ets to Jadge that
extended the.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Lad holse good is that.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
It's time for the Reid presented by Microsoft co Pilot.
Microsoft Copilot, your AI companion for NFL Game Day and
every day.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
The red hot Jags going to Indy.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
We ask Copilot which matchup will decide who wins the game?
And Copoland says Jacksonville's passing attack versus.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
The Colts banged up secondary.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Indy's d has been shred in the past few weeks,
and Trevor Lawrence is on one of the best stretches
of his entire career. All us humans to discuss this
matchup between those Jags and the Colts. The Jacksonville putting
the league on notice going into Denver getting.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
A huge win.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
The Philip Rivers experiment has been going fairly well in Indy.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
What do you think takes place in here?

Speaker 5 (33:43):
I think a close game, but I think that the
Jags win this one twenty six to twenty four. When
I'm looking at Trevor Lawrence, me and Microsoft Copilot agree
that the opportunity to find areas of the defense to
exploit is what's going to matter. But I'm not so
much weird because we could get saft guard in your back.
I'm not really looking at the pass and looking at
the circumstance right now.

Speaker 8 (34:03):
There are other pieces.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
But I think that Jakobe Myers and I think that
Breton Strange, Yes you heard me, bretton Strange. I think
that all of the different pass catchers they have now
gotten into sync with Trevor Lawrence. So even in harder
to navigate situations like the Broncos defense, they've been connecting
on what i'd call like tougher level of effort passes.
Right you know how gymnastics score like, you know, like

(34:25):
the routine can be harder. They're now doing the more
difficult routines. So I'm looking at this and even though
I think it'd be great to see Sauce Gardner back,
especially if you're a Colts fan, I still think advantage
to what Trevor Lawrence has got going on in this
pass game.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
You know who's been hitting some high degree of difficulty throws,
Philip Rivers.

Speaker 6 (34:42):
Because you don't know how tough it is.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
He doesn't have the arm strength, he doesn't necessarily have
the athleticism. He's doing all with canny timing and rhythmic
line games and smart and accuracy and a funky throwing
motion that's looked the same since he was nineteen years
old playing.

Speaker 6 (35:00):
At NC State getting it done. I have a high
scoring game.

Speaker 4 (35:04):
If you made the list of reasons why the Colts
did not win on Monday night, Philip Rivers was not
even on it as far as I'm concerned. They were
averaging four and a half points per possession deep into
the fourth quarter, and.

Speaker 6 (35:14):
Then it caved in a little bit.

Speaker 4 (35:16):
I think I see a similar type of game here
where the Colts defense just can't match up against a
Jaguars team that I believe Patrick Clavon told me was
averaging how.

Speaker 6 (35:26):
Many points since the buy was it? Was it thirty three?

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (35:29):
How many points did I give him today? That's Larry
Bird's number.

Speaker 8 (35:33):
That's sacred, yes, or maybe you read the research packet.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Either way, Gregan is always in the materials. I am
right there with Cynthia and Gregg. I've got a Jacksonville
Jaguars win. But I do want to say, if you're
able to come back and play football at forty four
years old, you're a significant athlete, as Philip Rivers has
always been.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
But let's discuss Monteric Brown.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
I don't know what hit you, guys confused with Buster Brown,
the comic character that debuted in nineteen oh two in
the New York Post.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
But this is on Tariff Brown.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
He occasionally goes by Buster and he got targeted twice
by Bill Knicks last week allowed zero catches. Of course,
best wishes to Pat Bryant, who Brown had a huge
hit on late in that game. But he just made
it so difficult for those Broncos to make plays through
the are. And I just wanted to point out another
good player in that Jags secondary as the Jags pretty

(36:25):
good looking team.

Speaker 3 (36:25):
In the AFC, Lawrence and Rivers is able to.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Both be top five picks in the NFL draft at
one point. Let's take a look at the projected draft
order in twenty twenty six. As we've got the Giants, Raiders,
and Browns right there at the top, the Jets and
the Titans. Three wins for the teams at the bottom,
two for the teams at the top or the bottom,
depending on your perspective. The Giants and Raiders facing off

(36:50):
Sunday in a game that has some big implications regarding
the number one overall pick in the draft.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
So who wins here and misses out? Because we still
do this draft thing by.

Speaker 6 (37:00):
I know you're not a fan of how they ordered
the draft. I think he got something to maybe we.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
Get a lottery going at some point, and maybe if
that happened, the Giants wouldn't have landed Abdull Carter, who's
playing well the last few weeks.

Speaker 6 (37:11):
He's taking it serious.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
And they asked Exter Lawrence after the game, like, as
it shown that he's taken some lessons from it, and
he's like he's got to do it more than one week.
I was like, whoa deck dex Yes, easy on the kid.
He's making a lot of plays. He's got to help
your team out.

Speaker 6 (37:27):
You're giving me a ess Greg against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Speaker 4 (37:31):
I don't care who's playing them. I'm just Gregan all day,
sight unseen. I don't care if they're playing a high
schools team.

Speaker 6 (37:37):
I'm taking them against the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
Okay, we watched the Giants last week. The Saints and
the Titans.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Tennessee currently projected to have the fifth pick in the draft,
but they've looked a little bit better lately. Who wins
this match up between two of the better rookies at
the quarterback position?

Speaker 5 (37:51):
Siddy, have we now from one win over the Titans,
we're now going over the Chiefs. Now you're going to rownagize? No,
it's still the freaking Saints. Tyler Duck, he is sick
of hearing about how him worth so much better than him.
All he's been doing is been deep passing his way
to wins. With Chris Olave. He's done a good job

(38:11):
of navigating a really bad circumstance without being like, hey, guys,
me over here. Everyone said they should have taken other people. No,
Tyler Schuck's looking great, and I think you guys are insane.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
Yeah, I mean we knew that going yet.

Speaker 6 (38:22):
I mean, this one's I should have known Patrick.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
This was a very Patrick move. He's still riding high
after taking him again to the Chiefs though.

Speaker 8 (38:29):
Yeah, you're yeah.

Speaker 6 (38:30):
That's a good one.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
Well, yeah, things are going great over here in my
favorite situation, the Patriots and the Jets, Ganggreen still looking
for the elusive first interception of the season.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
I'm not sure they get it here. I like New
England to win thirty.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
Two to sixteen, because, look, it's been a tough go
as we look back at some of the things that
have taken place against this Jets team, where everybody's getting
healthy in any different number of ways, whether they're running
and passing, it's a rough go.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
Thirty two to sixteen.

Speaker 4 (39:03):
We're being generous the Jets. They have lost the last
three weeks by an average of twenty five.

Speaker 8 (39:07):
Look at Greg's score twenty four to six.

Speaker 6 (39:09):
Yeah, again, that's generous. That's way closer than they've been
in three weeks.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
When we come back, it sound elect Greg have that
freak flag fly because he's hit his player props two
weeks in a row.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
One more time and he's on fire.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
Boom shocka locka shout out to NBA jam our favorite
props of the week coming up next on Game Debut.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
Tom for write this down. That's our gift to you
as well.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Get some prop predictions for Week seventeen that leadoff Greg.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
Well, I'm giving out an extra pick, Oh Christmas to
write this downs. It's a theme here. The Rams and
the Seahawks are the two best teams in the entire NFL.
They're both gonna win big and their rushing stars are
gonna have big numbers. So Kyra and Williams for the
Rams in this game goes over sixty three and a
half rushing yard that's against the Falcons, and then Kenneth

(40:03):
Walker the goes over fifty three rushing yards against the Panthers.
I really see scenarios where both these teams needing big
time wins overwhelm their opponents, who, by the way, are
two very poor teams against ground attacks, especially the Arizona Cardinals.
So I feel great about that Walker pick. But Kyrin
Williams he gets it done too.

Speaker 6 (40:23):
Two and oh I got to catch up on Patrick
Well Okay.

Speaker 8 (40:26):
But ceedee Lamb that have at least six catches against
the Commanders on Christmas. He got snubbed for the Pro Bowl.
That's right, Maybe you should have taken George Trades. I
didn't even care.

Speaker 5 (40:36):
I like See Lamb better because I think he is
the one who, to me in this matchup the more
reliable opportunity here for at least six receptions. I also
think there's an epic kind of historical data point here
that he or Justin Jefferson could at the end of
