Speaker 1 (00:04):
NFL Game Deview is a production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Everybody, Welcome to game debut.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Patrick Claybahn back here with Greg Roseendal and Cynthia Freeland.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Week fifteen is here.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
We had a great slate last week, Greg, we got
a great slate.

Speaker 4 (00:20):
This week we do.

Speaker 5 (00:21):
This is officially the Stretch Up Stretch. We're branding it.
No more bye weeks, no teams with different records, and
especially this week, like a lot of the top teams
playing each other.

Speaker 6 (00:31):
Yeah, I mean, we have so many division rivals playing
even in the early window on Sunday, there's three pivotal
matchups for seating, playoff, all of the things, first order
playoff things.

Speaker 7 (00:40):
It's awesome.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
We love the division rivalries, but can we spread them
out a little bit. It's kind of jam packed towards
the end of the season. If I'm talking to you
schedule makers who I know are watching us intently right now,
speaking of you know, schedules and games and all that.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
I was able to extend the lead somehow in.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Our Pigs contest, Goingrea eight and six, three games ahead
of Cynthia. But Cynthia Freeland is inevitable and Greg Rosendal
is decided to climb up the rankings.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
No, not this year.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
They're of the crown, reluctantly, none of our arching yet.
Falla's talk some ball here.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Back in Week five, the upstart Patriots, at the time
sitting at two and two, met up with the four
and zero juggernaut Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football, tied
at twenty with the round two minutes remaining, Drake May
led the Patriots right down the field of connect with
Stefan Digs for twelve yards, then Kishon Booty for another
nineteen or the first down A few plays later, andres
borgallis now the fifty two yard game winner to stun

(01:37):
all of those folks in Buffalo who have been plotting
revenge all season long. It's worth mentioning that Sean McDermott
squad did have three turnovers, a couple of them really
rough in that Week five loss, and Sunday we get
that rematch.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
New England eleven and two can clinch the AFC.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
East with a win. Buffalo currently the sixth seed. Do
the Patriots sweep the season series against the Bills.

Speaker 7 (01:59):
They do.

Speaker 6 (02:00):
I have a one point win for New England twenty
six to twenty five. I'm looking at this matchup and
by the way, I have the Bills ending up in
the five sets, so all is not lost because they'll
probably get to play the Steelers anyways, it doesn't really
matter about that necessarily. But what does matter in this matchup, Well,
it's Drake May of course.

Speaker 7 (02:18):
Obviously.

Speaker 6 (02:18):
When you look at the deep passing situation, you're like, oh,
I remember Christian Benford.

Speaker 7 (02:23):
He has two scores.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
And two games now and the lowest passer rating allowed
in coverage and like a really long time. And I'm like, yeah,
But there are other parts to that defense to target.
And if you're looking at the deep pass where Drake
May has been incredibly efficient, like over a one and
a quarter epa per deep pass attempt, which is a massive,
massive number, that is where they can succeed, just maybe.

Speaker 7 (02:47):
Not into the coverage of Christian Benford.

Speaker 6 (02:49):
So the deep pass and a kind of sneaky stat
where Buffalo allows those deep passes to connect, that is
the difference maker.

Speaker 7 (02:56):
There's volatility in this game.

Speaker 6 (02:58):
Volatility means fun for fans, but meaning there could be
turnovers too.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
I've also got a slim Patriots, but a two point
win twenty six to twenty four, because we saw it
in the highlights that something was talking about.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
But this deep passing game.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
The Patriots have guys who made plays on those balls
thrown in every direction by drag may not just deep.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
The Buffalo Bills could use some help.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
In that capacity if you want to talk about Bills
receivers with less than a yard of separation making plays
on the ball. The leading guys Josh Palmer this season
with three OO elsewhere the team, and I know Khalilsa
here had a great one on what was the quite
essential Josh Allen play where he ran around, made a
bunch of guys miss, and then fired a ball into

(03:38):
a holeless size of a football. The rest of the
team hasn't really done that, and I think it's relying
on Josh Allen obviously a little too much.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
It's going to be too much again on Sunday.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
How dare you question the rest of the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
This is a.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
Championship team year after year in the afcast. They took
that title from the Patriots, and they're going to try
to take it back. Yes, I'm picking the Bills I'm
going against my Patriots. We're just gregging it up here
in week Fife because of this man, Josh Allen. You
say he doesn't have any weapons. Well, first of all,
khaliols Sekire is awesome, Dalton Kincaid is back. It's a
great three tight end group. It's a great offensive line

(04:16):
going up against a defensive line that's a little banged up,
possibly without Harold Landry, definitely without Milton Williams. And the
number one thing is the success rate on Josh Allen
runs in the month of December is one billion percent.
I just think this is a guy who when he
plays his best, he tends to go on a streak

(04:36):
of playing his best and that was one of the
best Josh Allen games of all time last week. I
think he carries himself in the Spills team to a
win and they just split. That's what happens among good
two teams.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
They split.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Well.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
The Patriots currently the number two seed in the AFC.
They're looking up at the Denver Broncos who won ten straight,
but they've got a match up with the feisty Packers
team on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
They get motion to the tight end of the line,
take the swift, big legging. Let Williams looking flints.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
A late being in oception bodka shot.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
Next, sim Panter is your dagger, Henna.

Speaker 7 (05:12):
Lambeau leaf to the south ten zone.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
Stands twenty two seconds to go. Then the Packers tmhung on.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
The Packers playing the top spot in NFC North with
their win over the Bears. They're heading to Denver to
take on the AFC's one seed, the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
It's a heavyweight fight. But who's standing at the end
of it, Cynthia.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
So you're saying that the Broncos are not favored at home,
I am saying that, yes, interesting, my model doesn't agree.
I have Denver winning this one twenty one to twenty.
I know that there's a lot of great things I
could say about the Denver defense, and I think I've
said like a lot of them throughout the course of
the season.

Speaker 7 (05:47):
But I want to talk about RJ. Harvey because this O.

Speaker 6 (05:49):
Line combined with a dynamic rookie and how he stepped
up in JK. Dobbins's behest after he got injured has
been really interesting. We know that there are a lot
of shorter passes. I'm pretty sure someone else is going
to talk about that.

Speaker 7 (06:02):
But the way RJ.

Speaker 6 (06:03):
Harvey has take get a hold of this offense and
being able to help this quarterback escape sacked. We know
Sean Payton does not like his quarterback to be sacked.
I don't know if you've heard that anywhere before, but
you know he said it over and over and over again.

Speaker 7 (06:15):
But it's true. And part of that is getting RJ.

Speaker 6 (06:17):
Harvey into the spots to succeed, to get them those
first and four. It doesn't need to look great, No,
Jeff Hafley defenses don't give up las of but four
yards on first down. That is sexy right there, and
it also leads them to win.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Yeah, we just have to I have the beholder because
you know it can be sexy.

Speaker 7 (06:32):
I think it's great.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
It'd be fun. Two great defenses. I think it's a
bit of a rock fight. I'm gonna take the twenty
twenty five Broncos in a rock fight. Every single time
a one point Broncos win, because yeah, Sean Payton doesn't
like his quarterback does not. One thing that you can
do is get the ball out of his hands. Very tough,
and the screen game. The only player with more screen
completions in the league this year than bow Knicks is

(06:55):
Patrick Mahomes. He's got four hundred and eleven yards on
screens this season, and they can work them to slow
down that pass rush on their way to a one
point win and take this win stread to eleven games.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
So you're gonna give me the favorite.

Speaker 5 (07:09):
You're gonna give me Jordan Love, one of the best
quarterbacks in the league against bo Nicks.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
It's just Greg number two.

Speaker 7 (07:16):
There we go, both time game favorites.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Let's do it.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
This Packers seem is one of the best in the
entire NFL right now. I'm putting them right there with
the Rams and the Seahawks. I don't think the top
of the AFC, which includes the Broncos, is in the
same category as the top of the NFC. And it's
partly because of this guy, Kristin Watson. I don't know
what he did after that ACL surgery, but he came
back as explosive, maybe even more explosive, certainly more productive.

(07:41):
He's got seven touchdowns, He's got as many deep catches
as anyone in the NFL since he returned, tied with
CD Lamb.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
And I think this is a defense.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
They can take advantage of everyone not named Patrick Sirtan,
and that's you Riley Moss. So Christian Watson on Riley Moss,
I think the Packers get the wins, but he's not
Patrick Sirtanus to getting targeted catches.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Another target from Greg Rosenthal. Here the Packers and Broncos
have some history. Denver beat Green Bay way back.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
What's that long ago Super Bowl thirty two? You know
who els has some beef. Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Here's the quarterback comparison since twenty twenty one in terms
of the winning lost head to head in favor of
Jared Goff, the at points per game in favor of
Matthew Stafford, Passing yards going Stafford's way.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
But the lasting memory I'll have.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Is you're good enough for Detroit Jared from his head
coach Dan Campbell. As we look back, Stafford didn't get
the win in the Super Bowl in his first year
with the Rams.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
So there's that.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Sunday we get part four of the Golf Stafford Trade Bowl.
The Lions need a win to stay in the playoff hunt.
The Rams can clinch a postseason berth with a win.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Do they get it great they do because the Rams
lost the last two times these two teams wait because
the whole team wasn't as good. But now Matthew Stafford
is not the whole thing. It's also about the defense
and the pass rush. Especially think back to week one
of a couple of years ago when they last played.
We didn't even know how good Jared Versus was gonna
be or Braydon Fist. You're looking at Byron Young, who

(09:12):
is having a breakout season as a totally complete pass
rusher and run stopper. You have Kobe Turner up front,
so we know that Jared Goff does not like pressure
what quarterback does, and ultimately I expect that Jared Goff
will be under a lot more pressure on Sunday than
Matthew Stafford because these two teams are not even even

(09:32):
if the quarterbacks were, the Rams pass rush gets home.

Speaker 6 (09:36):
I agree with you on the winner. I think your
margin's a little too big. I have a three point win,
twenty seven to twenty four. I mean, let's just make
it two points. After seeing that horrible music video, we're
better than just good enough for Detroit.

Speaker 7 (09:47):
Jared Goff my god.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
Anyways, I want to talk about Blake Korham, although I'm
now angry about the Jared Goff slander. If all of
the directional schools of Michigan can chant your name, you
are good enough for the whole state of Michigan and
probably the whole country. Anyways, we're not gonna talk about anymore.
We're talking about bla who comes from the University of Michigan.

Speaker 7 (10:06):
Great week for them.

Speaker 6 (10:06):
By the way, But ultimately, Blake Cooram is a new
wrinkle and fold in this offense that perhaps is one
of the things that they don't know so much about
each other. Blake korm is extremely explosive. They found really
interesting ways to use him. There's a lot of familiarity
between these two teams, considering they don't play very often.
But Blakekoram could have a nice upside to a run

(10:27):
defense that has been very, very stingy. This could be
one thing where they find just those wrinkles unfolds and
figure out just a new way to get a first down.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
And now we have an interesting opportunity for Lions fans
to take a picture of the screen, because I'm also
taking the rams and meme us away. I don't want
to in this memes Cynthia in the picture because that's gonna.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
That's that's more likely to have a picture taken.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Yeah, I don't know what I got a one point win.

Speaker 7 (10:52):
No, I don't want to be a part of.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
The Yes Walker it is pukin Akola is the reason
that I am taking the Los Angeles rems.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Have you've seen what I know?

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Jamior Gibbs has been lighting the league on fire, especially
a game against the Giants up Pooka these nast few weeks.
Has been catching everything. You have that great one hander
in Charlotte with the Rams lost, but that's gonna be
the lasting memory of that game for me.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Two touchdowns against the Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
He averages one hundred and eight yards a game in
his career against the Lions in his career. Kind of
coinciding with the lines being good. Kirby has banged up
no more branch the rest of the year in the secondary.
So yeah, it's Ramley across the.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Board for us. It's tough for who's eaten good?

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Presented by Applebee's Cynthia, which quarterback in the game is
more likely to throw for over two sixty jg or
Matthew Staff.

Speaker 6 (11:39):
Your probable MVP. Matthew Stafford is the answer to this one.
You've talked about it. There's no Brian Branch problem. Terry
on Arnold, where are you? You just had surgery today?
Hope went a little buddy, but not on the field.
This is not great. You know, we saw a lot
of DPI like there's just it's just not a good
situation for the legion of whom it's going to be

(12:01):
a big advantage for Poka Nakua and all the past
catchers for Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Time for Seas this season presented by Caesar Sportsbook, as
we look at the first touchdown score odds between the
Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals. Somehow Dereck Henry ahead of
Jamar Chase in this one, as Chase Brown, Mark Andrews,
and Zay Flowers round out that top group of players.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Let's discuss this matchup if more.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
The Bengals took it to the Ravens on Thanksgiving, winning
thirty two to fourteen. The Ravens can stop turning the
ball over and Joe Burrow's return was great. I think
the Ravens win it this time around a score of
twenty nine to twenty eight. Not having a pass rush
is a definite issue against Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
But Lamar Jackson appears to be moving a bit better,

(12:46):
so we can add some points. How do they do
that with the issues they've had upfront? They could just
run play action. He's completed eighty point three percent of
his passes while the Ravens were running play action.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
It seems like some of the.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Guys upfront might better be better at pass blocking when
they're pretending to run block. He's only trailer Sam Donald
and yards per attempt when they run play action. I'm
just perhaps on wishcasting a particular direction that they could
go to win this game.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
But I do have them winning it by one point.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
I have the Ravens winning by three points, and I
think it's going to be a score fest. I don't
feel good about either one of these teams right now.
I think Joe Burrow is going to play well in
this game, because when you watch what he did last
week in the Snow, he was disappointed because of how
it ended with a couple of turnovers. Ones on a
tip pass one is just a ridiculous play by Christian Bedford.
But he was playing incredible football. I can't tell you

(13:37):
how many highly difficult throw and catch us. Yeah, that
throw to Chase Brown was incredible, and his receivers are
coming through for him.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
It's like they're playing even better. We don't know about T.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
Higgins's status in this game, but the vibes are down
horrendous in Baltimore, and I just don't feel good about
either of these teams. But I do feel good just
about points. I don't trust ultimately in the defenses. I
trust more in the quarterback. So I think lots of points,
and ultimately I think these two teams deserve to split.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
So the ultimate Baltimore gets the win.

Speaker 6 (14:05):
I agree with you on points, but way do you
see how unsure I am about points. I have Baltimore
winning by two, maybe the most annoying one anyways, but
that's the most annoying score. But Derrick Henry is the
difference maker. I was a round surprise Chase Brown wasn't
the highest first touchdown score odds. That was interesting to me.
But Derrick Henry on outside run, specifically against this defense.

(14:26):
This is where this defense has been extremely vulnerable week
in and week out. I'm not saying there's a lot
of bright spots in the Bengals defense. I'm not saying
you can't pass on them. I'm saying do the thing
where you're not going to turn the ball over.

Speaker 7 (14:39):
You know what that is? Twenty two end zone. Just
have him run.

Speaker 6 (14:42):
So I'm looking at Derrick Henry in this situation and
I'm saying, I do understand why he had the highest
odds for the first touchdown. I think it's Chase Brown,
but I think he gets a second touchdown.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
How about that Steelers handed the Ravens last week a
big loss to claim the top spot in the AFC North.
They're playing host to the Dolphins on Monday night. The
Fins have won four in a row. They technically still
have a shot at the playoffs. Who wins this game
as the Fins try to sneak their way in.

Speaker 6 (15:07):
Yeah, I think that they do actually end up winning,
just by one point. Twenty two to twenty one is
where the model nets out because Devon E.

Speaker 7 (15:16):
Chan is likely, you know, healthy enough to.

Speaker 6 (15:19):
Be able to be his effective and efficient self. The
offense has weird metrics. Jalen Model has been good, but
Devon A Chan he has been the rudder.

Speaker 7 (15:29):
He has been the.

Speaker 6 (15:29):
Reason that this team is navigating these waters of wins
when it started off looking pretty terribly. When you look
at his ability to accelerate, what's the balls in his hands?
When you look at his fatigue even in the cold,
you know, you look and start to see those it
doesn't matter Devon a chan for a million to the moon.
That's the difference maker for me in this one.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Yeah, I haven't made an even bigger difference because I've
got a bigger.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Fins win twenty three to eighteen.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Because I'm looking back at Aaron Rodgers completing all these
deep passes, three of them with twenty or more are yards.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
He was oh for November throwing the.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Ball deep none zero in the entire month until they
played the Baltimore Ravens. Now, it's a defense that has
a bit of a better pass rush, but Finn Flitz
at a higher rate. They generally have a higher pressure
percentage other than Baltimore, And so the Rogers revival was
discount double checking, and folks would think about it was
because the ad campaign ended, No, because he didn't have

(16:21):
any rushing touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Its back in twenty twenty two.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
I think the Finns get enough pressure to get a
win here and inside track for the Baltimore Ravens in
a big game for them.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Great.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
Wow, such a doubter, such a hater of an all
time great like Aaron Rodgers. I believe the Steelers are
gonna win this game strongly, twenty three to twenty two.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Give it to me. It's a field goal.

Speaker 7 (16:42):
That's three.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
Now, that's three for three.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
They're all favored. What I started the week down nine,
make it six. Steelers aren't gonna let Miami get back
into the playoff run.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
Why?

Speaker 5 (16:54):
Because Aaron Rodgers is coming off his best game since
he was a member of the Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
I don't think that's even a question.

Speaker 5 (17:00):
Yeah, no, maybe even better than any game in twenty
twenty two.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
He was awesome last week.

Speaker 5 (17:05):
There's something about this Dolphins four game winning streak that
I just it's two blots in the.

Speaker 7 (17:11):
Division the Jets last week.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
Yeah, I'm stupid.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
Uh, it's two blots in the division and then two
games against bad teams that came down to the final player.
I don't know what Mike Tomlin is doing. He's just
got voodoo. But Aaron Rodgers coming off his best game.
They find a way to get a win.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
That's a great club.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Hurts in the shotgun. A touchdown would win it for
the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Kerts pulls it Broze intercepted game over. Intercepted Game over
dayon Henley Game Over.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
The fourth interception Tony Jefferson.

Speaker 5 (17:48):
Unbelievable ump does it? The bowl always finds Tony Jefferson.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
It was tipped to him.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
Unbelievable way to end this game.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Times for the Reid presented by Microsoft Microsoft Copolo AI
CampaignOn for NFL Game Day and every Day.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Lots of star players on both sides.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Of the ball, and a rematch between two teams we
saw week one in Brazil. Justin Herbert's legs helped get
the better of KC in the first game. A couple
of potential Hall of famers on the defensive side of
the ball, highlighted by Cope Pilot in a huge game
in the AFC West. We'll dive more into this Chargers
Chiefs matchup. A must win for KC, whose playoff dreams

(18:30):
are on life support. Do Herbal and the Bolts deliver
the knockout blow to KC.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Cynthia Nope, Oh.

Speaker 6 (18:36):
I you know I feel great about this again. Twenty
four to nineteen Kansas City. I would love to know
my record without Kansas City in it this year. You
need to help me out here, Chiefs. The model loves you,
The model says that your metrics are good.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
Doesn't lev you back.

Speaker 6 (18:52):
Nope, I'm getting no love, absolutely none. But their defense
has been when I go back and look through, like
what's gone wrong. We know about the offense, got it,
we know about the oline, got it, But inconsistencies on
the defense are.

Speaker 7 (19:04):
Really what is hammering me this year.

Speaker 6 (19:07):
We saw about I don't know twelve total minutes in
the second half of last week where the defense looked
like the defense that we thought and now Trent McDuffie
then gets hurt Retrow so I have them winning. I'm
going to see their defense hopefully play the way that
we imagined. But I will say it does help that
the Eagles got after Justin Herbert on sixty eight percent
of his dropbacks last week. Meeting pressure could happen, That's

(19:30):
how they would have.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
To do it.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
I can guarantee you're not going to pick up a
game on me here because I'm also taking this and
I want to get there.

Speaker 7 (19:35):
She makes me feel better.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
Yeah, give some people some insight into this pick, because
coming into our meeting today, I had the Chargers winning
this game. I was listedly going, why don't you go
ahead and look at the video Khalil Mack who had
eight pressures in the season opener. But then I thought
about how constricted the Chargers pass game looked against the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
How Herbo had that giant padded glove. It's on the road,
it's cold.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Eventually Casey is going to actually catch the ball.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
I'll take the Chiefs set home here.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
Rick, hate that you did that.

Speaker 5 (20:05):
You know you're winning this picks competition. Patrick, in large
part because of all the hate in your heart for
this Chiefs team and picking against them all year.

Speaker 6 (20:12):
You picked up a game on it right when we
both picked that, we picked you saying you've.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Been picking against them all year. Now you give up
against the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
I'm just picking better than Greg.

Speaker 5 (20:22):
Well that's true, like nine games better both of them,
but it's only gonna be five games better because this
is my fourth.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
Just Greg, let's go Chargers win this game.

Speaker 5 (20:31):
Let's go back to week one, because sometimes the narrative,
the vibes just the tone for the season is set
early on, and the tone was set that this is
not going to be your normal chief season. That the Chargers,
who's always getting beaten down by this team in the
biggest of spots, actually came through in the fourth quarter.

(20:51):
And that's what kind of team they've been all season.
Both sides of the ball. Chargers defense is playing really
well right now. So it's not just the Chargers offensive
line that could struggle, it's the Chiefs offensive line. And
I think the Chargers defense will be swarm in this game.
And I know Herbert was attacked and brutalized against the Eagles.
The Chiefs don't have that kind of defense. I really
do think Chargers win this game. I love them to

(21:13):
cover that five and a half too.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
We just want you to be okay.

Speaker 7 (21:16):
I know it's.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Stop proticking the ball with it.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
The Chargers of the Chiefs expected to be one of
the lowest scoring games of the week, according to Caesars.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Let's take a look at the other ones.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
The Raiders and the Eagles at thirty eight and a half, Browns,
Bears at thirty nine, Panthers and Saints getting forty and
a half points.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
These the rest of the expected low scoring games.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Let's get to the two minute drill presented by the
Wells Fargo Active Cash credit card as weenis a quick
picks here.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
On game debut the Raiders of the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Maybe Raiders fans will provide Birds fans with some perspectives.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
As Phillies dropped three straight. There's no way it goes
to four.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
Rightw There is no way. In fact, I think everyone's
going to be partying. I have the score thirty seven
to twelve. Canny Pickett revenge game. Give me a break.
Going back to Philadelphia, let's talk about the defense for Philadelphia.
It's at that game pretty crazy to say the safety
Cooper Dezene was as electric as any player on the field.
But getting to watch the live all twenty two up

(22:13):
in section I think it was three twenty five or something.
This guy is like he moves in a way that
I've almost never seen a safety movie.

Speaker 4 (22:21):
He's one of the best young safeties.

Speaker 5 (22:22):
I've ever seen, and he's paired with one of the
best cornerbacks in the league, Quinion Mitchell.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
What a duo the Eagles has.

Speaker 6 (22:27):
I liked his celebration the thumbs down. The thumbs down
was honestly probably my favorite.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
You have to have a signature celebration in the league
at this point, let's go to the Commanders and Giants.
Jane Daniels unfortunately out for Washington. Marcus Morooda will start
and I will roll solo here with the Washington Commanders.
I've got them winning. I've got way too many one
point games here this week to nineteen. I think Marcus
Mariota has played well. I think he's played well enough
this season to beat a team like the Giants. And
the Giants have been grinding all week, making sure to

(22:55):
let everyone know that one day Brian Cox got upset
about seating arrangements on the plane and nothing else. The
source provided all kinds of context about seating all the plane,
but no other details about any other potential issues with
Brian Cox and the Giants. And so that has made
me decide that I'm going to pick the Losington Commanders
a week after they cant beat thirty one to nothing,

(23:17):
because first there's something going on, something going on in
East Brothers. But Jackard, Yeah, the Panthers and the Saints
in New Orleans, Carolina coming off there by can still
win the NFC South. Does Dave Canalasis team take care
of business or.

Speaker 7 (23:32):
Something they do. I have a four point win, poor
Carolina twenty four to twenty.

Speaker 6 (23:37):
I just want to give a little love to brace
Young because last year was weird.

Speaker 7 (23:42):
This year they've come so far.

Speaker 6 (23:44):
It is week fifteen and we are talking about them
potentially being able to win the division.

Speaker 7 (23:49):
So Brace Young, congratulations. It's mental fortitude.

Speaker 6 (23:53):
It's a lot of taking crap from people on TV
who talk about nonsense like us, and you know what,
he has risen above it. So I'm just pretty impressed
to see what I'm seeing from him and Tidero McMillan
of course like all of these pieces, but I don't know.
I just feel like Brayce Young people last year are like,
I don't know if he's good or not, but you
know what turns.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Out, It's done all of it with a big smile
on his face. As well. The Bears and Browns.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
At Soldier Field, it's supposedly ten degrees of this game,
the Chicago bounce backround.

Speaker 5 (24:22):
I do think they bounce back. I think they have
the ground game to get it done against this good
Brown defense. But Shader Sanders is who I'm watching in
this game, he's really played well for a Day three pick,
and I think this next month against good competition like
the Bear is going to be interesting. If he plays
the way he has so far, I think he's going
to get another year to potentially be their starting quarterback

(24:45):
while they try to improve the rest of the roster.
So it is very valuable to have a cost controlled
quarterback that maybe he's a bridge quarterback, maybe he's the future,
maybe he's just right at that level, like like a
Derek Carr Teddy Bridgewater type. That would be a major
fine for a late round pick. So let's see if
he continues his development against the Bears. Fourth and goal

(25:06):
from the two, Hawkinson emotion to the right, McCarthy back
to pass, basketball right hot TJ.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Bounce us off coming to touchdown.

Speaker 6 (25:17):
J J.

Speaker 7 (25:18):
Hawkinson with a tough guy touchdown and the Vikings lead
thirty zero.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
It's signed for once ahead present of my credit one Bank.
JJ McCarthy threw three touchdowns and a shutout win against
the Commanders last week. Now the Vikings going to Dallas
for some Sunday night football. The Cowboys remain in the
playoff hunt, albeit very slim hopes but they are in there, Cynthia,
do they get a win that they need?

Speaker 7 (25:43):
They do get the win that they need.

Speaker 6 (25:45):
Twenty eight to twenty one is what I have in
this one, because we know Brian Flores, He's gonna blitz
spoiler alert, and you know what happens when you blitz
Dak Prescott. Bad things se your defense, connecting with receivers.

Speaker 7 (25:57):
You know, you even get a little Javonte Williams action
in here.

Speaker 6 (25:59):
If you're a fantasy manager looking to win your playoff game,
think you can fully play.

Speaker 7 (26:05):
Javonte Williams as well.

Speaker 6 (26:06):
But when I'm looking at Dak Prescott's ability to not
just navigate but dice up any sort of blitz you
want to give him, and we're talking all of the
different types of blitzes, you just don't want to do
it to him. And I don't think they have another
trick in their book to generate pressure against Prescott other
than blitzing, which is clearly what they do.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
There was a particular trick that the Cowboys had in
the books to generate pressure.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Goes back in week eleven. They went up.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
To the Jets and they ate Williams, and that helps
generating pressure especially where they need to against jaj McCarthy
up the middle. I have got the Cowboys winning this
twenty six to eighteen because Quinn Williams in the first
few weeks weeks one through eight, he didn't have any
games where he generated five or more pressures.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
He's done that in every single game that he has
had a star on his helmet.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
He's been a star for the Dallas Cowboys, and I
think he powers them to a.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
Winning a great I agree. I think it'll be closer
than the number. So I have the vikings competing in
this game. He's a talented roster and I think you saw
that last week. And ultimately JJ McCarthy played his best
game of the season a week ago. So let's just
hope for better things for a young quarterback who had
a couple of nice throws on these deep outs. He

(27:17):
had that fourth down play to Hockinson.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
It wasn't a.

Speaker 5 (27:20):
Lot of like second third reads, but they simplified the offense.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
According to Kevin O'Connor.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
O'Connell and like, maybe they should have done that sooner
because all that matters is being effective.

Speaker 4 (27:31):
You don't have to have.

Speaker 5 (27:31):
All like of your fancy stuff where you're expecting him
to be Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 7 (27:35):
I think that's the lying liar who lie thinks. I mean,
what are you supposed to say?

Speaker 6 (27:38):
We just did the same thing and got a different result.
Like people were like, well, how does that work? We
made it work complex, Like, I think that's just a
coach some coach speak for you. You know, we simplified, We
went back to basics. You know, we just did football things.
He made a football he's a football guy. He's got
a football heart. He's a football guy.

Speaker 5 (27:55):
Whatever it is, nine is making it happen.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
Yeah, get back.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
On.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
The Cowboys need a win to stay in the playoff picture.
Let's take a look at all the team currently on
the fringe when it comes to the postseason.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
There's a few of them.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
Because as lot's back at the bottom of the AFC,
you've got three six and seven teams. The Cowboys tie
with the Packers and made things chaotic down there's the
bottom of the NFC, but those teams have hope as well.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
So it's time for the playoff push. Let's discuss some
of these.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Fringe teams, whether or not we think they're gonna be
playing ball in the postseason.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
We've got the assistance of the foam fingers with that.
Will start with my beloved Baltimore Ravens. Right now. They
are on the outs. They've got the number nine seed.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
They've got games with the Bengals, the Patriots, the Packers,
and the Steelers coming up.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Cynthia not feeling it. Greg wasn't either.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
I talked him into it because I've got the Baltimore
Ravens going into the playoffs. Who want to know what
the path is? They get to win this week, a
Steelers lost this week, or a loss against the Lions. Essentially,
what the Ravens are going to do is win one game,
beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, and have the Steelers lose one
of those games and they get in.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
And why do I.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Think they'll beat the Steelers Because in some universes they
did beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, Like this could have been
a touchdown, There could have been a field goal instead
of a touchdown. I think Ravens are a better team
than the Steelers. What about the Kansas City Chiefs. Though
they've made the playoff ten years in a row, they're
six and seven.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Do they make the postseason? Great?

Speaker 5 (29:21):
If you had asked this even a week ago, I
might have said yes, but we got to say no
at some point. Let's give up the ghosts. How many
different Uh, the Chiefs are finally done. Games are gonna
need to have till we believe it. The offense just
hasn't been the same, and I know some of the
underlying numbers are solid, but late and close they have
not been great. And Patrick Mahomes, who I think was

(29:41):
playing outstanding football in the first half of the season,
hasn't played as well recently. His completion percentage over expected
is twenty seven in the NFL. I think that's a
receiver in an offensive stat too, where the guys aren't
necessary in the place that he expects. It's a lot
of drops and it's just an offense that can't get

(30:02):
it going. And they have a very tough schedule down
the stretch with Chargers and Broncos coming up.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
All right, last one, the Lions would miss the playoffs
if they started today. They've got games with the Rams, Steelers,
Vikings and Bears coming up.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Will the Lions fond away inside?

Speaker 6 (30:16):
I think we are seeing Game two seventy two will
be the Lions and Bears and it's going to be
a doozy for everyone involved. I'm looking at this team
and I'm saying, Jamiir Gibbs, thank goodness, you're as good
as you are. Jamiir Gibbs. Maybe you are the best
running back this season. Jamir Gibbs number zero. That's my
only problem with him is I don't know if it's

(30:38):
a number or not. I have a lot of conflicting
thoughts on that.

Speaker 7 (30:40):
I don't care. I'm not conflicted about how.

Speaker 6 (30:42):
Well he's been playing and that ability to run and
navigate any sort of defensive woes that could happen, any
sort of offensive line woes. You said it before, Jared
Goff doesn't like pressure. No quarterback does, but Jared Goff
especially doesn't like pressure and outside.

Speaker 7 (30:55):
Because they'd have to go out.

Speaker 6 (30:56):
So anyways, long story short, I do think that the
Lions get in by the tiniest of margins, and I'm
gonna have a.

Speaker 7 (31:02):
Heart attack for the next month.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
So some of my favorite hobbies literary fiction.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
Love that.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
Yes, I'm searching for my tortoise in the backyard.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
Love that. Also, China to.

Speaker 7 (31:12):
Be able to find that tortoise quickly.

Speaker 5 (31:14):
It's not easy. She digs a whole It's a whole thing.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
What Yeah.

Speaker 5 (31:18):
The third hobby is figuring out what the Sunday Night
Week eighteen game.

Speaker 7 (31:22):
Is gonna be every year seventy two.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
I do think it's gonna be Lions Nags.

Speaker 6 (31:27):
Game two is seventy two, and I'm gonna be a
wreck under some covers watching.

Speaker 7 (31:31):
With just my little eyes peeking out like this. It's
gonna tear.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
It's gonna be a playing game. Winnard goes in. It's
like an early playoff game. I'm keeping an eye on
forty nine ers Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
That could no, it's it's Dan Campbell, It's the Lions
once again.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Folks coming up, Philip Rivers Folks has ten kids, is
a literal grandfather. His oldest child, Holly is is older
than Riley Leonard. He hasn't played since twenty twenty. Philip
has and he's forty four years old. The veteran gunslinger.
Can he be the savior for the Indianapolis Colts? Are
thoughts coming up next?

Speaker 7 (32:12):
Hey, Greg, you killing play with eleven? Greg, don't dance
with him? Running over then keep your body in there.
You weren't even.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
Close to making that point.

Speaker 7 (32:19):
We'll stop him twice. That gum it, hey poach kick
right around you.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
Not nine hi?

Speaker 7 (32:23):
Hey, oh honey, oh what.

Speaker 5 (32:28):
O that baby?

Speaker 2 (32:30):
Oh lee?

Speaker 4 (32:31):
Uh oh?

Speaker 7 (32:31):
Suit?

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Oh my gosh, suit do you Aggervaci stue out of me?

Speaker 7 (32:36):
Sheesh, That's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Heck you whoa, It's out for the field.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
Good Story of the Week presented by Geico. After a
rough story when Daniel Jones went to IR ending his season,
the Colts got Philip Rivers off the couchable, off the
coaching sideline to come out of retirement. The team signed
the forty four year old former Colts quarterback to the
practice squad on Tuesday. He last played back in twenty twenty,
where he led the Colts to eleven wins and a

(33:04):
spot in the playoffs. Rivers and eight time Pro bowler,
recently became a grandfather and good play. The Colts have
the Seahawks on Sunday at eight and five, Indies sitting
just outside the wild card in the AFC. Could Philip
Rivers saved the season and get a dub for Indie grad.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
Yes not this week, but yes in future weeks. And
by the way, he has a chance to play Philip
Rivers playing this game. There's no way they're bringing in
Philip Rivers. And let's throw it all the way back
to twenty sixteen. I have the Seahawks winning, but the
Rivers gets.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
The stund definition.

Speaker 5 (33:39):
It's an SD. This is Christmas Eve, two thousand and six.
Rivers goes into Seattle. It's actually his first season as
a starter, and he lights up the scoreboard. To Vincent Jackson,
if it was a badass Chargers team, he was good
from the jump his first season as a starter. He
was one of the best starters in the league, and

(33:59):
he stayed that his whole career.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
So yes, he's playing in this game.

Speaker 5 (34:03):
You think Brett rip gonna get Hall of Fame consideration
someday or Riley Leonard, please, you might as well be
Riley Leonard's grandfather, Like it's not happening.

Speaker 4 (34:11):
Rivers is gonna save this season.

Speaker 6 (34:12):
Okay, So, first of all, forty four is a young grandfather, Like,
can we just all agree on this. Tom Brady played
older than Philip Rivers, so it's fun to say, like
the old head thing, but like it's whatever. Seattle wins
this game. Two scores twenty eight to fourteen. Love Philip Rivers,
but you're telling me all this chemistry comes back and
I don't know from a Tuesday to a Sunday.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
Okay, you know it's the offense.

Speaker 7 (34:36):
Nick even Warre.

Speaker 6 (34:36):
You think this guy who's gonna win the Defensive Rookie
of the Year, you think.

Speaker 7 (34:40):
He gives one crap about Philip Rivers. Maybe the trash talking,
maybe that part, but no, I'm looking at it. Nick.

Speaker 6 (34:47):
I just really wanted to point out that Nicki iman
Ware should be your defensive Rookie of the Year. And
I think it's gonna show its selpier in this game
and how well the Seahawks defense is able to navigate
this change like it's fun. I love the story, don't
get me wrong, But I also don't want to see
him get hurt, like I don't like you if you
haven't played in five years like you're on the that
just I don't know. More injuries, please, I'm done with

(35:08):
the injury.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
Peel Rivers, who famously played in an AFC Championship game
with the touring ACL I've done to that Seahawks win
now twenty eight to seventeen. It's not the Rivers of
it all again, Like Cynthia and Greg. I hope he's okay.
He has gone up against the defense. Do just featured
Nicky Man worry also Leonard Williams and I know the
defensive lineman. Everybody wants to know the sack number. He
does have seven sacks this season. But the interior has

(35:30):
been so good. Opposing running backs have had three yards
after contact per carry.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
It's the eighth lowest mark in the league.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Out they're only missing tackles on twenty point two percent
of the rushing attempts this season. So back to back
weeks where Jonathan Taylor is gonna need to carry the team.
I guess the defense is very good at stopping the run.
I think the Colt slide continues. Yeah, Tom for quick
picks here on game debuts Cardinals and Texans down in Houston.
Houston's won four straight, including last week on the road

(36:00):
in KC.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Did they make it five.

Speaker 6 (36:04):
Twenty seven to fourteen? My models pretty conservative at thirteen
point win. That's a that's a big number in this matchup.
I mean, when I'm looking at the opportunity here to
see the passing game improved. So what I've seen is
if you want to look at Nico Collins and say,
I don't know what kind of year he's had. Okay, cool,
Look at the numbers, six hundred and forty five yards
on deep a downfield passing attempts. He's third in the

(36:26):
NFL in that Mark Jackson Smith and.

Speaker 7 (36:28):
Jiglo leads it, but third. That's really good.

Speaker 6 (36:30):
And quietly on those ten plus air yarders, he's been
really masterable.

Speaker 7 (36:34):
I think this is the game where we start to
see that edge up.

Speaker 6 (36:36):
And up and up, propelling the Texans to win the division.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
Love it all right?

Speaker 3 (36:42):
Winning the division A team down in Doomble would like
to try to say, that's about that. Jacksonville's one four straight, Greg,
You enjoy picking the Jets here in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 5 (36:51):
The Jets not this much, okay, And that's why I'm
trailing in the pace because of the Jets.

Speaker 6 (36:56):
Your your's a Jet, You're a Juggernaut. The Jets of
the Chiefs have done me dirty. The Jets have done
you dirty.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
One of those things, not like the over the Jets.

Speaker 5 (37:03):
Yeah, he's done in the entire you know, Tri state
area dirty for a decade. You know who isn't doing
anyone dirty? It's Brian Thomas Jr. You might think that
Jacobe Myers was the biggest acquisition of the season for
the Jaguars. That's wrong, because the Jaguars last week acquired
twenty twenty four Brian Thomas Jor.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
He looked like his own self.

Speaker 5 (37:23):
He was awesome a week ago, and that's going to
be huge for them down the stretch.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
Let's go to the Titans and the Niners San fran
coming off the bye week Tennessee thresh off of a
win where none of us picked them, by the way,
their second hand win of the year.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
I like the Niners though.

Speaker 7 (37:35):
He's starting to get the start. I love it, starting
to pick it up.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
We love it.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
It's honestly, you know, congratulations the Tights. My score is
closer than y'all's, maybe reflecting some latent belief in cam
warden company with the real belief as in Christian McCaffery.
You want to compare receiving just receiving seasons, you have
to go back to two thousand and two too, or
ninety four and ninety five. Jerry Rice eighty five receptions
through thirteen games. That's what he's doing just as a receiver.

(38:03):
I know, I joke about out the MVP conversation, but no,
this is what else does he need to do?

Speaker 2 (38:09):
The whole team was hurt.

Speaker 7 (38:09):
And he's carrying him on their back literally when.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
We come back.

Speaker 3 (38:13):
Greg's seven week player prop hot streak camp a halt
due to injury last Sunday. But like a wise philosopher
and the band Semi Sonic once said, every new beginning
comes from.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Some other people. Get our favorite prop bets were coming
up next on campaign.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Look forward to prop bets some of for writing this
down as we get to our favorite prop predictions for
week fifteen, Greg, we need you to heat back up again,
start us.

Speaker 5 (38:46):
Out, and I feel great about my guy, Woody Marx
going back to the well in a matchup where this
Cardinals defense, especially on the.

Speaker 4 (38:52):
Ground, has been awful lately.

Speaker 5 (38:54):
The Texans running game getting better, Woody Marks getting most
of the carries with Nick Chubb banged up, so look
for him to go over seventy five and a half
and I'm giving you a bonus write this down. I'm
gonna get it right. Forty nine ers over twenty nine
and a half. This officially counts I'm going two and out.
Oh ontay nine ers team total over twenty nine and
a half.

Speaker 7 (39:11):
Okay, well, Patrick Mahomes hasn't been so ragement while his
team hasn't, But Patrick has.

Speaker 6 (39:16):
I think he's going to rush for at least twenty
two yards against the Charges on Sunday.

Speaker 7 (39:20):
The Charges are vulnerable on the ground.

Speaker 6 (39:21):
Patrick Mahomes in must win situations, he uses his legs.

Speaker 7 (39:25):
I'm not worried about the injury.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
I am going to the New York Giants.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
Well, their opponent this week, Terry McLaurin going over fifty
nine and a half receiving yards because once again.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
The sources and East Brother are talking about seating charts
and no other context.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
That's leading me to pick against them, and Terry McLaurin
to have over fifty nine because besides all that.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
He's a good football team.

Speaker 7 (39:47):
Well, WHICHUL we switch to our seating chart? What do
you think? Yes, we switched next time. Then that's how
you know things are.

Speaker 5 (39:52):
I will not be back this next week unless I
can be over there and show off my sneakers.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
It's all that, nothing else. Thanks for watching game debut.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
We'll see you back here next week, probably sitting in
the same places.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
