Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio. Welcome to Good Morning Football, presented by
(00:27):
Old Trapper Beef Jerky. We're live here in New York City.
You know why, Jamie Kyle, Peter Jason. All Right, so
Thursday Night football was tremendous. Kyle's got the highlight because
we want to talk about Justin Herbert in particular and
how he's gonna fare moving forward. Let's do it twenty seven,
twenty four. Chiefs, Now, let's go to the Charger side
of this, guys, because they had this for a while.
The head coach, Brandon Staley very serious, very serious words
(00:49):
to say about the inspiration he got from his quarterback,
Justin Herbert. He's okay, it was a tough game, and
you're not going to see a quarterback in any level
of football play tougher and do more for their team
and will their team to give him a chance than him.
There's nobody that can do what he can do. Nobody.
He showed a lot of guts. He showed us what
he shows every day that we're never out of the fight,
(01:10):
and he brought us back and gave us a chance.
Herbert clearly played through pain last night. He went out
for one play, as we mentioned, yet he still nearly
led his team to an impressive league game come back.
He had a throw on the rope. It was unbelievable.
There's respect, you're impressed by this young man, but where
did your respect level go? After watching Justin Herbert operate
(01:32):
late in the game. It was an unbelievable effort. If
you're just tuning in this morning and he didn't stream
it on Amazon last night, Justin Herbert goes down and
you think that this guy is done for the day,
can barely move, is wincing in pain. And then yet
Will's not only himself to get back on the field,
but then to take his team on another huge touchdown drive.
This guy is superman. And I almost feared while he
(01:55):
was coming back in this game. My fear was you
put him back in, but at what costs? And we're
gonna find out later today because you know, Stanley's like,
he's okay, he's justin And you know, obviously Stanley looks
like at what cost? Because you keep him out of
those games. He took a few more hits after that,
and if the charges are in this thing, for eighteen
weeks and beyond. I don't know if having him in
week two down ten points to drive you back. I
get it, I get it. He wanted to be in
(02:15):
and you're not talking to himself. Sometimes coach to protect
the players, and in some cases, you know, the initial responses,
he's gonna be okay, He's fine, Let's see because this guy,
what he did last night was herculean like that. I
can't exaggerate enough the toughness that he showed. And I
am just praying and hoping that we get great news
today and that this isn't going to affect him the
rest of the way, because that dude is the real deal.
(02:36):
And I'm watching and like you just said, he gets
injured on a play, he gets hit, goes out of play,
Chase Daniel comes in the game, just hands it off
to Sony Michelle, a normal play. But then justin Herbert
comes back in the game, and the very next play
he comes back in the game, he gets hit again.
So for me, I'm watching the game and that was
the first thing I thought. I'm just like, hey, it's
week two. I know this is a huge game. They're
(02:58):
going against the Kansas City Chiefs. They haven't been able
to close him out. But I'm like, is it worth
it right now? Is like you just said, we'll find
out later today, But I automatically kind of flashback to
RG three, Robert Griffin. He was playing with Washington and
he's playing through injury, and the biggest question mark after
us should have been out there his knee. He was
banged up, he didn't look like himself. And you watch
(03:20):
Justin Herbert, he didn't look like himself after he got hit,
takes another hit the very next play, and I'm watching
right now, I'm just like, yeah, get him out the game,
get him out the game. And I know he comes up,
he makes an amazing pass down the field, goes down,
they score a touchdown. But I don't know. It's just
you're watching that game and you're like week two, and yeah,
he's tough as hell. And I think for those guys
in that organization, they didn't need last night to prove
(03:42):
that Justin Herbert was tough. They already know that about him.
They see him every single day. But that was my concern.
Sometimes you do, like you just quote it. You have
to protect players from himselves because we want to play
at all costs, and you don't want to give up
on your guy, especially in a game like that. But
I don't know, I'm a little nervous. He was in
a lot of pain out there. I oftentimes want to
temper my praise for guys just going over the top
(04:04):
with like, wow, you are heroic for playing through injury,
because that can be dangerous, especially for young guys coming
into the league. Guys looking at that situation and thinking
that you always have to advocate for yourself to get
back into that situation. Clearly, he performed a couple of
plays later or he put them in the end zone,
and that is what the Chargers needed to yet display
what obviously it wasn't enough to get the job done.
(04:26):
Rich Gannon, seventeen year NFL quarterback and MVP. He was
tweeting as this was happening. He said, those ribs will
hurt for a while. We'll make practice next week difficult.
Extra days off are certainly going to help him. But
then he tweets later, no quarterback, it's coming out with
a rib injury. It's just this standard that exists for
these guys. I get it, I appreciate it, but at
what costs? This is Week two. The Chargers have a
(04:48):
long and storied schedule ahead of them within this division.
They have to play the Chiefs again in November twentieth,
And you just hope that this isn't something. He's lucky
this was on Thursday night because he doesn't have extra days.
But oh man, this could just be whose injuries. It
doesn't have a name, doesn't have a diagnosis. It could
just linger here. Yeah, it's impressive, and I have a
huge respect for it. Obviously, I don't really even just
(05:10):
say that you respect it. We all respect it. I
don't win that game, yep, you know, like the Chargers
need to win that game. They are an almost team
right now, and they're they're in an almost organization. And
I want to be insensitive to Herbert, and I really
appreciate you could easily tap your head and come out
and it was great. Even I just think they should
win that game. We could make the story of that game.
Justin ever got banged up at the end and they
(05:31):
couldn't pull it out a lot of other players in
that team. It could have made a play. There's dropped
the interceptions. There was the whole miscommunication on the pick six,
which is the biggest play of the game, which Peter's
that earlier. We're not exaggerating that play could determine the a
a FC West. That one wrong route verge. It's a
massive play, massive and so it's just like, I'm ready
for someone to really challenge the Chiefs. Nothing is the Chiefs.
(05:53):
I just like parody. I like something fresh. The Chargers
are right there and narrow. You gotta win that game.
And if your quarterback's hurt, somebody else make a play,
somebody else make a tackle. It just this will come
across as insitive because they played hurting. It's so really
you're making up charges the charge when the game charges frustrating. Well,
here straight, they were up ten and nowhere near when
the injury actually occurred. The game could have been sol
(06:14):
said and done when he got hurt. They could have
been up twenty seven. He could have gotten hurt, be
like you're done for the day, like you put back in,
because they were in that position that they played themselves into.
Subs got don't blink, don't blie, don't blame my boy,
don't break, don't blak. We are so excited to welcome
(06:35):
this next guest. We're not going to blink during the
entire interview Virtual Breakfast Table. He's an eight time Pro bowler,
a three time All Pro, and a former Defensive Rookie
of the Year. This season, he's bringing the heat and
his veteran presence to a formidable Buffalo defensive line Bill's Mafia.
That's going Joyce. It's two time Super Bowl champion, Super
Bowl fifty MVP Bill's Linebacker by the longest introduction. So yeah,
(07:02):
good morning, Vaughan. How do you guys? We are pumped
up about the Bills dominating that went against the Rams
in the NFL season opener, but it must have been
an emotional heavy night for you. You see the banner unveiled. However,
what does it really say about your defensive preparation that
they were able to overcome a celebratory evening for the
Rams and perform the way that they did. You know
it was it was an emotional night. But I do
(07:24):
a good job compartmentalizing my emotions. I had been thinking
about the game off season. I love LA I love
the Los Angeles roums, Aaron Donald, Coachman, Back, Jayleen Ramsey,
Cooper cup Man, all of those guys. Man, they came
and got me and refreshed me at the portant time
in my career where I really needed that man so
to always be loved. The la and the raums. Well
we you know, we did a good job of just
(07:44):
going out there, taking in one play at the time
and focusing on the Yeah, definitely, there's nothing like playing
against your guys. But as a fellow bald guy, I
saw the cameras caught you on the sideline with the
helmet offense, you had the triangle in the back. I'm
a little envious. I don't think I can grow anything
back there. But what was the significance of it and
what does it mean to you? I've been a little
ducktail like that for about eight years now. You know,
(08:07):
it's a Dallas thing, but it really kind of chose me.
It means manisfestation, it means a positive energy, especially in
the direction that it that it points and I'm here
on the Buffalo Bills, I'm trying to focus on the
monset here to help us get over the hope and um, yeah, yeah,
he could just kind of chose me there, Von. You've
played with all the quarterbacks, obviously, Stafford Peyton, Manning Tebow
(08:29):
back in the day. But there's not nobody like your
quarterback right now, number seventeen, Josh Allen. And in fact,
when he stiff arms this dude on the Rams in
front of the Rams sideline and wins our on your
run segment, you were reacting to it on your own sideline.
We have a glimpse of it. This is you reacting
to your new quarterbacks stiff arming somebody into oblivion. Take
a look. It's an incredible reaction. Meanwhile, Tremn Emmonds is like,
(08:56):
that's how we do it here. That's that guy. V
What was going through your mind when you saw it?
And one of your impressions of number seventeen, Josh Allen, Man,
that was that was incredible play. I was not expecting that. Um.
I thought he was just gonna try to get first
down and got out of bounce. Um So it really
caught me off guard. Man. You know, he's a tough guy,
and you know we really just you know, follow his lead.
He has this this confidence about him that really trinkles
(09:17):
down through the whole organization. Man, I love Josh. I
don't think I can say to no, you know I
got this. Oh. I love Josh Shallon. Man, He's a
great guy, great quarterback man. And like I said, we
just followed his lead man and it really threw me off.
That's their home. But that's just who he is. Man.
He's gonna do whatever it takes to make plays for
(09:40):
his team. Cool. Sure, But Vaughn, we've known you a
long time. I think you're a first ballot Hall of Famer,
no doubt. Guy. Obviously have the rings. What is the hat?
Let's go take us into the hat. What the hat
represents right now? Because I want one. This is my
Chicken operations, Green and Fast Chicken, and I'll make sure
to get you guys some hats for sure. Hell yeah,
(10:00):
I will rock the hat. Hey, look, when when you
were traded from Denver to LA were people were like,
we were a version of von Miller? Are we getting?
And then you go on this incredible run with the
Super Bowl and then week one you are the most
dominant player out of Were you listening to any of
those things? Like, yeah, but what version did that stuff
even resonate? Are you so locked in that you don't
even listen to the outside newis? It kind of goes
both ways? You know, you know you hear the stuff,
(10:22):
but I just had such I had such a firm
belief and you know my ability, and you know, I
had a firm belief and what I could still do
in this league. And you know, shout out tell me
I got Geno smith Man. You know they wrote me off,
but you know, I ain't right back, and I still
felt like I had a lot more to give. And
I just took you one player at the time with
the Rams, and we were able to, you know, have
success there. And now I'm here with the Bus and
(10:43):
I love that you mentioned Gino. We love Gino here
and we love what he's doing going into week two.
You know, one of the things that Josh Allen has
talked about is that you've shared with the team that
you look at the season like an album and that
each week of the season is a different track on
the album. And week one was the introduction track. So
now we go to week two, we're national television, we're
making the home opening, your first time playing in front
(11:04):
of Bills fans as a Buffalo Bill. What kind of
track are we looking at for track two on the
twenty twenty two album. Track two is bright Lights on
Monday Nights, And you know we're in the studio right
now trying to cook up this hit. We got great
leadership here from coach McDermott and coach Washington to coach Frasier.
All three of those guys could be head coaches in
this league. And you know, we really just followed those
(11:25):
guys leading. Man, They have us ready to go. They
leave no stone on turn. And I've been around a
lot of great coaches in this league, from the Denver
Broncos to coach McVeigh with the Rams to to hear now,
so I've been blessed to have great leadership wherever I went. Man.
You know, here we are track two bright Lights on
Monday nights, and you gotta take it one player at
the time and make sure we finish up the week's show. Yeah.
I can't wait to see all seventeen of the songs,
(11:46):
one track list and one track. I think maybe don't Blink.
You were miked up and you said it numerous times,
and that seems to be your mantra. There. Guys are
coming up saying Vaughn said don't blink. They're saying it
to each other. What does that mantra mean to you?
And how have you been able to let your teammates
know that as well. I think it started really at
the Raums and you know, I was trying to give
(12:06):
you know, those guys insight on what it took to
really win the Super Bowl, and Peyton Manning used to
tell us that, and it really hit home for me.
And I pay all the stuff that Peyton Manning and
the Marcus Ware and all these guys before me when
I was going through that playoff run with the Raums,
I just hate all the information for it. And don't
blink means in any championship fight, you gotta be ready.
You gotta you gotta be ready at all times, even
though you get hit, you gotta come back out here.
(12:28):
You can't blink, you can't flinch because in those big
tim games, playoff games, super Bowl games, big tom rivalry games,
all it takes is one play for you to you know,
let your guard down and it could be over for you.
And whenever you're playing great teams like the Rams or
the Chiefs or you know, all of these times that
all of these teams that are at the top of
the league right now, you gotta take you one player
at the time and don't blink. And that was my
(12:49):
message to my teammates and the crazy thing about being
miked up. You know, I tell the guys here in
the media department, you already have my consent to mike
me up. I don't want to know whenever you whenever
your mic up, whenever they let you know your miked
up before the game. You could say too much, so
you don't say enough and it kind of waves on
your mind. So they did a great job just you know,
taking my consent. And whenever you can have genuine experiences
like that, you get the great product like the mic
(13:11):
was on Thursday night. Absolutely, Von, We know that talent
talks and it translates, but it says a lot about
you as a person to be as beloved as you
are for every team that you go to, in every
city that you arrive in, you're go to the chickens
or go to the people. We appreciate you for that,
Von Miller, Thank you for waking up with good morning. Fully.
I appreciate you, guys. Thanks and gigging time for Mad
(13:49):
Minute presented by Draft King sports Book Week two officially
kicked off last night and we've got a great slate
of games coming to us on Sunday. So let's break
down the rest of the best matchups on Sunday afternoon
and into Sunday evening. Bears at Packers. Who knows what
kind of Aaron Rodgers version we're gonna get? And can
the Bills continue their clip at home against Sennessee Titans.
We're gonna start in the steel City though, where the
(14:11):
Steelers are hosting the Patriots, also looking for a bounce back.
What are we looking for in that game, Peter, Let's
see what we get from this Patriots offense. I thought
it was abysmal last week, and I said as much
on the show, and I was the one all summer
band like just trust Belichick. I know you're freaking out
about Judge and Patricia and the lack of any skill
position players that scare you. And then Kendrick Bourne gets
two targets and one catch and I'm like, all right,
he's their best skill position player. Can we maybe see him?
(14:32):
Mac missed practice with an illness, not Covid had back spasms.
I mean, if the Patriots come in O win two
and lose to the Steelers without TJ Watt, we have
a show on. Yeah, I don't want to watch either
one of these offenses. I'm gonna be watching the defenses
because that's what it's all about. Steelers offense didn't do
much to defense, have a ton of turnovers, and they
still barely won the game. And saying with New England side,
(14:53):
the offense didn't have much going on. Whichever offense just
doesn't turn the ball over, they'll win the game. There's
a lot Yeah, you know what I say, Just trust Belichick.
And now you're worried about judge of Patricia in the
lack of any skill players are going to scare, are
you? You You know what's fascinating. We've done this segment twice.
Now we did the earlier amendment. We do it. We
kicked the Patriots Steelers behind the Commander's Lions, behind the
Panthers Giants, and I think it was the right move.
(15:15):
Are the Patriot's going to contract as an organization if
they lose this game? It really feels like it. The
knives are out for a Monday morning car. Two coaches
that are on our INU we trust list, Bill Belichick
and Mike Tomlin going against each other in that matchup.
All right. The Rams look to turn things around in
Week two hosting the Falcons. That so far, what are
we most excited about in that matchup? No, look, Jason,
the Rams. They have to be able to stop Cardarol
(15:35):
Patterson on the ground along with Marcus Mariota, who also
had seventy yards rushing. That's gonna be the toughest challenge.
The Rams need a bounce back game to defending Super
Bowl champs. Got embarrassed by the Bills on Thursday night
to open up the season. They have to bounce back
against the Falcons. Give me McVay, let's go, buddy. You
can't go into that's another story we're gonna start the
(15:57):
week with. You can't go in two to Atlanta. And
yet Atlanta. You saw Arthur Smith after the game, furious pounding.
You're right now, Robituary, like they're already there. I think
they're coming for blood in this game. Wrap up, The
Rams are gonna be favored. They'll probably win. It's the
sky's falling if they lose. Yeah, last week when the
Rams lost, I came in and I felt like the
Bills had nine months of like stewing anger and just
simmering and like no matter who they face on that
(16:18):
Thursday night, they were going to blow them out. That's
how That's how angry and built up the Rams kind
of like, all right, well that has to be the
Rams this week, like after the long layover too. They're
not gonna be watching all of everyone play and Thursday
night game like, Rams have to take care of business,
and I'm not so sure they do. I think the
Falcons have something coming in. They could you we talked
to Andrew Worth yesterday. They could use him back. Matthew
Stafford was sacked seven times in that game last Thursday night.
(16:40):
All Right, we've got an NFC West showdown in San
Francisco between the forty nine Ers and the Seahawks. What
intrigues us most about this game maybe the quarterback for
the forty nine ers. Seattle's got something going. And I
don't think that was a fluke. I don't think that
was an anomaly. They have the all time everybody hates
us thing. If the Niners lose this game, and they
lose twenty seven to thirteen and Drey Lance, can I
(17:01):
stop a couple of turnovers that were light in the match. Look,
I'm just saying hopefully Trey Lance plays well for him,
but we're lighting the match if they lose this game
and he doesn't play well, and we know who we're
looking at on the sideline already. Oh and two. Yeah,
and they were up to nothing in this game last
week and Debo fumbled and then it was like just
it all? Can I gave a giant asterik for like
I did too, right? We got this one, not this one.
(17:22):
And I'm sorry Niners fans. I know you want to
talk about you know, look how good you know, you
know Brandon and you can be. It's all about Trey,
that's it. And for that offensive line that we talk about,
Trent Williams really good. The other four guys they didn't
try up last week either, So let's see, it's a game.
I'm talking about Genos. Yeah, last week, everybody wanted to
talk about Russ. This week, everybody's gonna want to talk
(17:42):
about Trey and Lance. They tried to write me off,
but I didn't right back. Let him know, Geno, Let's
see if he can up stage again. Seahawks seem like
they enjoyed nobody talking about him this offseason, and now
we're talking about him coming into week two. Two and
oh teams two oh and one teams looking to get
their first wins with quarterback. With Cardinals headed a Vegas
to battle it out against the Raiders, what's got us
(18:03):
most excited about this matchup? I maybe like this guy
is falling guy. But like the same day I just
said about Trey Lands, I'm saying about Kyler Murray and
the Cardinals. And it's not just Kyler. That team was
forty seven to seventeen at home on National TV last week.
If Cliff and Kyler can't get up for this one,
this is a team that historically finishes terrible. They always
start off fast out of the game. What does that
tell us if they start off owen two? Yeah in
(18:24):
Las Vegas already. I hate to say it's a must
win game, but like Cardinals, we need to eat a
little something here, a little something, little Jack, a little something. Yeah,
we have to see something because the way they played
against the Chiefs was just abysmal. Watching that game defensively,
it was just like, this was the best game plan
that you guys came up with. And for the Raiders,
Derek Carr through three interceptions, sad he was just trying
(18:44):
to do too much. So the Cardinals are going to
have their hands full because this Raiders offense is going
to be ready to go this week. I think the
Raiders are a good team. I think they lost to
a really good Chargers team in a really close game.
I think the Raiders are gonna be fine, the Cardinals good.
I give people a pass almost entirely for Week one.
I don't care if it's raining or not. It's fine.
Week one is very difficult, very weird. Week two a
you got and you didn't know if the Cardinals. I
know the Raiders are good. I believe in them. Are
(19:06):
the Cardinals good? I have no idea to show us
please the Cardinals through an absolute buzz soof schedule the
first two weeks of this season. And Kyler Murray, he
had a lot said about him in this offseason. What
kind of fight back to see? All right? Finally, Sunday
Night Football brings us an NFC North battle between the
Bears and the Packers in Green Bay. What are we
looking for in that game? I want to see if
there's a Green Bay Packers receiver that is able to
(19:28):
step up and do something in this game. Alan Lazar
still has been limited throughout the course of the week,
so will somebody step up for Rogers because he is
searching for it as we watch him get killed last week,
does the Darius Smith sat Rogers needs some help? Who
is it going to be? If you're a Bears fan,
you hate how the storylines are going right now. The
Packers suck, they can't do anything right. Rogers on the
(19:51):
Bears feel good story, great win, They're looking good. I'm
nervous about this game for the Bears. I really am
obviously a terrible recent history up there. I hope that
come ready to fight because Rogers is going to be
an assassin in this game. I really I don't care.
I don't think you're storing you and me, Peter. I
think he's gonna be ready. Yeah, I think you and
I can maybe compete with that Packers wife. I could
probably catch that ball. Fine, if I could have caught
that ball, I kid Christian watching about Lovely Career, I
(20:13):
think I don't know Bears. Let's see what they bring
to the table here. I love last week was a
dud on Sunday night, like we got Tarco and you know,
Collinsworth through a nineteen to three dud. You know the suntime.
Let's keep this one competitive here. Aaron Rodgers, though. You're right, though,
the trend is not pretty for the Bears. Twenty three
and five in his career against the Chicago Bears. All right,
(20:33):
welcome back to God Morning Football on a Friday. We
welcome in our old friend. And he's a triple thread.
He's like a quadruple threat. At this point. You know
him best of course as Mia Burlison's father. He goes
by Nate. What's up? Nate? That's right? What's up? Baby?
How you do? Okayb You're good. I'm good, baby. Let's
do what we do. Let's talk about the NFL. This
is the NFL network. At least we're on You're on CBS.
(20:56):
Over the listen, Nate, we were talking about you. You've
been at this table for a lot of shall we say,
challenging Thursday night matchups. However, last night was beautiful, absolutely beautiful.
Chargers Chiefs. We built up these quarterbacks all week long.
Did that one live up to the hype? For you,
my friend, it did live up to the hype. And
I gotta give credit to the Chiefs. I mean, even
though it was up and down a little bit of
a rocky start, the offense was still trying to find
(21:17):
their rhythm they prevail. We have to give a quick
shout out to Jaalen Watson. I mean that was one
of the biggest plays of the week, right, I mean
it might be one of the biggest players of the season,
depending on how this division shakes out. So give it
up Jaylen Watson. That boy good, real good. But on
the flip side, though, I know that the Chargers lost,
and there is no silver linings playbook when it comes
(21:39):
to losing, but we have to give Justin Herbert credit.
I will say this tho. I was listening to you
guys doing that last conversation. Relax, Okay, I don't know
if you guys were describing his injury or a scene
from Savor Private Ryan. You know, he was banged up.
Everybody's banged up, you guys like, oh my gosh, this
rib fell out. He got up and he went out
there and threw the Listen. We all know Justin Herberts
beast and he's tough, but everybody is banged up after
(22:01):
week one starts. But no, it was a really good game.
Competitive shout out to everybody that was involved in last
night's game. But the Chiefs, they looked good two weeks
in a row. Good to know his rib was still
inside his body. But that game last night, no Tyres,
no Keenan Allen, the superstar receivers weren't out there. But
(22:24):
on Monday night, the Vikings and the Eagles will be playing.
Justin Jefferson, A J. Brown, They're superstar wideouts will be
out there. Will You're expecting a better performance from prime time.
This is tough because Week one, they both did their thing.
They both went off, showed up, and showed out. Now,
even though last week Rogers hit ten different wide receivers,
(22:44):
he really didn't do much against the Vikings defense. Didn't
throw a touchdown, he had less than two hundred yards,
he threw an interception. And on the flip side, you
look at the way the Eagles they played. Okay, they
gave up over two hundred yards and two TVs. But
both of these defense played decently. But if I'm picking
a defense, I'm just gonna have to say it's it's
Justin Jefferson going off against the Eagles defense. He's just
(23:08):
he's so versatile, and a lot of it has to
do also with of course, a skill set. But what
do he said this offseason I know it kind of
shocked us all right when he came out and said,
I'm the best receiver in all the football. I love
Cooper Cup, but I'm better than Cooper Cup. And we
were all like, yo, chill out, fam, like I know
you just got here, like earn your stripes. But you
know what, after week one, I believe him. Like I'm
(23:28):
sitting there watching this dude, and every other play he's
doing something incredible. I mean really just scratching the surface
on his career. He might end up being the best
receiver in all of football, just like he told us
this offseason. So if at the picking one out of
the two, Justin Jefferson is going to have another big game. Hey,
two years into his NFL career, he's had better numbers
than everyone, and then he does this thing that is
(23:50):
completely wide open when everyone knows Gatt. I don't think
it's crazy. I don't think it's exaggeration. And right last week,
say Juan one NFL Offensive Player of the of the Week,
and everyone's like, okay, say one. Yeah, but I didn't
see any viral clips of say I saw Justin Jefferson
because he might have won an even cooler Award, the
Nickelodeon Slime Time Award, Admit It for return this week
(24:13):
you're obviously the host of it. Jefferson was named the
NVP Nickelodeon and v Velvet Lable Player. How good does
it feel to be back doing Slime Time and what
was it like being able to give Justin Jefferson the
slime treatment? It was good man, It's good to be back.
You know young Dylan Dylan Schefter and of course shout
out to my daughter Mia who was involved. You know,
it's it's a great show, fun show. We break it
(24:35):
down in a very digestible way for not just kids,
teenagers and also adults. But it's good to be back.
We're doing it every week every Wednesday. You'll be able
to teach lime Time and then we have some cool
stuff coming up for our December game, which I believe
is the Broncos versus the Rams on a Christmas Day. Yeah,
Justin Jefferson balling out once again. Yeah. Okay, so now
give us a prediction. Who's gonna get slimed in? We come. Okay,
(24:58):
I'm going with Lamar Jackson. And I know you're saying, well,
maybe he really wasn't that impressive LA week, but he
did enough to show that he still has control of
this offense. But the reason I'm picking Lamar's because last
week he didn't even run the ball and they were
on the road. So now you have the Ravens at home, Okay,
a formidable opponent. They have Miami Dolphins at home. But
(25:20):
Lamar Jackson at home is a different type of beach like.
It's something about that crowd, that energy, being in front
of the people that love him the most. He tucks
it and gets going when he's at home a little
bit more than when he's on the road. So I
think Lamar's gonna have a great day in the air.
But more importantly, he's gonna show us those video game
like moves when he leaves the pocket. Nate, in keeping
(25:40):
up with the seventeen jobs you have to do during
the week, I would understand if on Tuesday night you
missed Jeopardy. I know it's appointment viewing for you, but
just in case you missed it, you may have missed
a couple of faces that you recognize on Tuesday night.
Here's a clip NFL opening Weekend six hundred. Here's Kyle
Brent Wes Welker and Damarius Thomas each caught two scores
as part of this Quarterbacks Monster seven touchdown day against
(26:02):
the Ravens. In the twenty third opener, April, who is
Tom Brady? No, justin Peyton Manning. That was Peyton Manning
April April recovered we think later the show, but we
gave our picks earlier this week, which non sports related
topic would we absolutely dominate at in jeopardy and so
now we need your answer to this one. Okay, if
(26:23):
I was on the show and I saw Kyle, I said,
what is a sh medium shirt? All right? But no,
to answer your question, I'm going I'm going with random
eighties movies I would dominate, Like that's my pocket, That's
my lane. I'm talking like how Worth the duck macking me?
Over the top, Masters of the Universe, you know the
(26:47):
movies that were that were so bad they were good, Like,
that's that's my jam. So yeah, random age eighty eighties
movies I would dominate. Over the Top is a movie
where a child is in a custody battle and so
Vester Stallone gets some backs by winning an arm wrestling
cud beats bull early in the final scene, it's over
the top, Nate, it's over the top. What do you want?
(27:12):
He was literally called over the top. It has to
be a little crazy. There's one scene one of the
arm wrestlers drinks gasoline before and it's just like, no,
I'm ready customing of his kid. Yeah, we get an
arm wrestler. Nate. We love you, I love the flowers.
We'll see you next time. I'm am alright, Nate. Hey,
(27:43):
this is New York City. We do the show live
that says pickle picks. But we got a great shot
here the pick. Yeah, that's the New York Fire Department
right down here in New York City. We've always make
room for them, always make somebody called the fire department
after Peter's justin Herbert take, it was that hot Matt
good Peter. You know the word um pick you have
to make a game pick. It is hitting in the
(28:04):
word pickle. Oh that's funny. So I like, so we're
so creative here in so wacky that we decided to
do a pick segment about what Jamie pickles pickles. That's right,
so bring him in here, Nickols. Where is there? Yeah,
straight from Times Square, it's a man dressed in a
pickle in the middle of New York City. Yeah, we
call him Pickle Phill. I call him Richard Pickle. I
(28:28):
think you do that because there's an abbreviation of Richard funny.
It is funny, all right. So here we go Dick Pickle,
which we call him. Um, it's a name. He's got
a matchup for us, and he's gonna hand out on
his zick for meal coach in the NFL. It's a name.
Thank you call him Dick Pickle Clark. I love him.
He's gonna hand out a matchup and then we're gonna
say who's gonna We're gonna pick like a pickle, who
(28:49):
was a winner? Will be? I mean, this is TV.
Is TV? Go ahead? Where they got Yeah, Ravens versus Dolphins.
I'm going with an upset pick. I think the Dolphins
are gonna win this game. I like what Miami did
last week against that Patriots offense. I think they keep
it going. First time they went on the road in
Miami and Baltimorson's ninety seven. According to Amy Urtles, Dolphins
(29:11):
win this game. Thank you Green Bay versus Chicago. You
went with the upset and I am not gone. I
guess I am. I guess I am. That's my pick.
I am not gone with the upset. I'm going with
the Green Bay Packers over the Chicago Bears. Aaron Rodgers,
You're going to bounce back. Get it done, my friend,
(29:32):
I'm a respectful human. I'm gonna call him mister Pickle. No,
you're coming on. We co with rister Pickle. I'm not
going to show these because I have to. We're in
the streets of New York. I have this card. It
says something. I'm gonna go with the New York Giants
against Carolina Panthers. We're here, We're in New York. Sepone
Barkley was a star last weekend. They need like the Giants,
(29:53):
like the Giant. Darn. It's a little early on in
New York. Giants are gonna beat the Panthers. You got it.
There's a there's a collection of New Yorkers around who
have stopped to watch the scene. Hello, yea man on
a bike. Who's your team? Who's your NFL team? Giants?
(30:14):
Giants No one? And so because of that, I'm gonna
stick to New York here and talk about the Seahawks Niners.
Game Go three thousand miles away from these people who
are lining up. I'm sure they're huge fans of DJ
Dallas Seahawks versus Niners. This is the upset special. I'm
taking it. I think the Niners are unfortunately gonna be
(30:36):
O and two, but more importantly, the damn Seahawks are
gonna be two and Oh. We see you, Gino. Probably
a lot of people around here named Gino, right, that's
kind of a New York name. Anybody's seen Ritchie. I
think the Seahawks are going to two and O. Gino
Smith is one of the stories of the NFL season. Guys,
how are we feeling? And thank you Rick? Getting the
crowd get in here? Yeah, they here. They want to
(30:56):
take a picture of Pickle. I wonder if you can
catch a football? You want to go along? Yeah, I
don't speak good Guess what because of that? Now you
can play for the Packers even has the green on already.
That was mean. I think the backers arena. That was
very mean. I know, I know. I'm so sorry. That's
a crowd. This is just amazing. We have to get
(31:19):
out of the way of the fire truck. New York City.
We're here, concrete concrete junk, concrete jungle, where dreams are
made of something you can't do. You also like to
thank all the major banks for bringing back all the employees.
Wall Streets alive. Sorry, five days a week, just like
us guys. That's right, that's right. No more Lulu Lemon.
You gotta come to work. Jamie brings us home with something.
(31:39):
What do you got? Let me go along. That's all
I got ever, Oh, Jason, don't go a Hammy, Come
on nice. It was the sun, it was the Oakley,
Join the games. Everybody have pickles this weekend. We love
you
