going on. Shout out to the Hoosiers, big time win,
big time performance. All my social media, you know, the
algorithm just speeds me all football stuff. So all I'm
seeing is Indiana Hoosiers and Alex Earl. That's all I'm seeing,
top to bottom, start to finish. I don't control it.
(00:55):
They control it, but I can't control this. Let's start
the show, Good Morning Football.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Stop it, stop it stopping. Welcome to Good Morning Football,
presented by Old Trapper.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
They don't like us. We down, but so I don't
like them by coming to that house.
Speaker 5 (01:24):
Take it down with no time, go into the.
Speaker 6 (01:29):
Come up.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
What ducks down a freeler.
Speaker 7 (01:32):
Ben puts the ball right out of the money, chucks
down a three.
Speaker 8 (01:36):
Here it is a first time star or Lamar Jackson
against the Steelers.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
Jackson is unbelievably gifted us down Revant, unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
Blastic raven Steelers.
Speaker 9 (01:46):
All kind of hitting was chuck the whole belt.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Indeed, there's a.
Speaker 8 (01:50):
Hitting, there's some joe, there's everything we've got.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
There would be definitely better fastball game.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
The Steelers are spelling blood.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
He got Fanny bought fucking fat.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
He got two teams.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
They're respect one another, putting dollar like one another.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
Stittsburgh and Baltimore. You don't have to say a whole
lot more.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Oh my, Jamie Manti, Willie Kyle, listen, you all are
football maniacs.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
I can't tell who.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Actually is the greatest one on this show.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Man, I'm gonna start with you, did anything fire you up?
Speaker 2 (02:22):
More than seeing the blood on the pads of that
of that there highlight.
Speaker 8 (02:26):
I mean, Jamie, there's a whole bunch of stuff on there.
You saw Mike Tom and a young Mike Tom. You
got to see you know, you got to see Ben
Roethlisberger doing sing Ray Lewis in the middle of a pregame.
Speaker 5 (02:35):
Hodle, Come on out, Willie.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
I'm jacked up.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
I'm trying to hold my propology. This is what you
live for. I mean, this is this is uh, this
is the game.
Speaker 7 (02:43):
These are the type of games as a ballplayer. Man,
time you notice that you live for. Man, this is
when you're an old man. You sit on the couch,
you got your kids next to you, like, hey, daddy
was him at one point, and I played in these
big time matchups and I want to tell you about it.
So I'm I'm trying to I didn't have any coffee
this morning, but I could bust out no, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
I mean, listen, we got two kind of average teams
this weekend. Let's hope one of them can win. I
saw a lot of stuff in that package that I
don't see for me that these teams right now, Willie,
you know, James Harrison ain't walking through that door.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
Dried ain't walking through that door.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
These teams.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Give me the Saints and the Falcons, and listen, I'm
I'm just be yessing right now.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
I want to see one of these teams win. But honestly, the.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Reason we're here is because neither one of them can
decide if they're going to be great or not, and
maybe this weekend they will.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
That's exactly right.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Well, we need more information in terms of that matchup
and if Network intingsider with us this morning.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Ian Rappacort Frapfeet, good morning to you.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
We have been talking a lot about Lamar Jackson's back.
Is he going to be back in the lineup for
the Ravens this weekend as they get set to play
the Steelers on Sunday night.
Speaker 10 (03:45):
Lamar Jackson is expected to be back, has been a
full participant both days. The fact that he was able
to be full yesterday after the first day of initially
being back at practice excellent sign for Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
In fact, don't take.
Speaker 10 (03:57):
My word for it, take his word for it. He
said one hundred percent he will be on the field.
So okay, that is a very good for the Baltimore Evens.
But that was not the only story yesterday out of Baltimore.
Lamar answered several questions from reporters, Some pointed questions about
an article in The Baltimore Sudden that came out the
question some of his workoutage, question whether or not he
wanted to be there, among other things, Lamar saying he
(04:20):
does not sleep in meetings. He sits in the front row,
right in the middle, and do you think John Harball
would let me sleep? It's actually a fair question talked about.
He wants to be in Baltimore, how the contract stuff
will take care of itself, and he is now as
close to one hundred percent as he has been in
quite some time, which is certainly a scary proposition for Baltimore.
On the other side of this thing, TJ. Watt trying
(04:43):
to come back after sergier jir Perry partially collapsed young
after a dry long after a dry needling session in
the team facility. There were some optimism earlier in the week,
and to my knowledge, nothing has wane. The only concerning
thing here for the Pittsburgh Steelers and TJ. Watt is
that he has not been a full participant yet in
practice today's Friday. If he is not full participant today,
(05:05):
then you really do wonder is he going to be
out there for a win and in all important game
for the Steelers Again. Tomlin has said he's more optimistic
this week than last week, but he also said let
the participation be our guide. TJ has not yet been full,
so I would say it's more waiting see mode for
the Star Edge Rusher than anything else.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Man, Some of those names I just don't want to
question going into this one because you want it to
be truth on truth when it comes to these two
AFC North rivals. Rap Sheet, thank you so much. This
all comes down to week eighteen. It's win or go home.
It's the Sunday Night football treatment.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
It wasn't hearing Kyle if that matters?
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Oh no, rap Sheet, We appreciate you, Kyle, Willie Mantai.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Here comes the question, we're gonna.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Play a little game and if and then conversation when
it comes to this Steelers Ravens conversation. Is it Rogers
last game? Is Lamar going to be healthy?
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Fill in the blanks.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
If this happens, If blank happens, then Blank will officially
win this game. Man, Ti, there must be a deciding
factor for you that gets this thing going.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
Yes, of course.
Speaker 8 (06:08):
And I'm just gonna look as near as last week
to how the Ravens did in the run game. If
the Steelers can't stop Derrick Henry, the Ravens will win
this game. And it makes it. Just make it simple, guys.
If if Derrick Henry continues to have the game that
he had last week against a really good Packers defense,
you're not gonna You're not gonna beat the Ravens. It
doesn't matter who's that quarterback.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
I know we're talking.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
About Lamar or maybe Snoop.
Speaker 8 (06:29):
Lamar Field's one hundred percent healthy, that's the best. It
doesn't matter. If this guy gets going, there's no you
could put me at quarterback and they're going to win
the game. Lamar. Derek Henry is like that car that
we used to play with after Christmas, you know, the
one that you have to like pull back and then
you let it go and it gets faster as it goes.
That's that's how Derrick Henry is in the run game.
(06:50):
If you let that guy get momentum, and that's what
happens when they put Patrick Card in the game, whereas
they start to open up holes, run a toss game
and let him get that momentum. Good luck stopping him.
I never had to stop them, but I wish everybody.
Look Wally, that has to stop Derreck Henry as he
starts to get.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Full head of steam.
Speaker 8 (07:06):
So if the Steelers can't stop Thrrick Henry, the Ravens
will win this game.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Yeah for me, man ty.
Speaker 7 (07:12):
If Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers team can't convert on
third down, then the Ravens will win. This is what
they look like during the month of December. I hope
we have to grap him. We thought right, we thought
right now, it's not good and they're not doing well
on third down. And I've played in this rivalry game
and you know on third down, both defenses heat it up.
I mean, they get after you. This is what they
look like in the month of December on third down.
(07:34):
I mean that's not really winning football. That's not what
you want to see. As you kind of build momentium
into January and you talk about not having dk Metcalf,
not having Mount Wathsinson. Now you're looking at the playbook streaking.
So if you're Aaron Rodgers and this offense, you have
to find a way to win on early downs, first
and the second downs where you can keep it in
third and short and aaronron is gonna get the ball
(07:55):
out of Hey, that's not the issue. The issue is
about the conversion. They have to be able to convert
it's to stay long drive so they can.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Get it done in the red zone.
Speaker 7 (08:02):
That's going to be a big key factor for the
Steel tspof me coming out the building would have win.
Speaker 5 (08:06):
Listen, I'm going to go back to the headline.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
If Lamar Jackson gets mad, the Ravens win, and Lamar
Jackson you must be mad about what's going on right now?
Right understand if you missed this somehow, The Baltimore Sun,
the local newspaper publication that has covered Lamar for years.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
And is plugged in.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
It releases a piece about everything from sleeping in meetings,
to diet, to.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
Work ethic, to desire to be there.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Not a flattering piece, and you might say, oh, it's
a hatchet.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
Listen, the Baltimore Sun is the Baltimore Sun. This is
not some crazy aggregator Twitter accounts.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
You got to admit that at least some of their
sources must have been accurate, at least.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
At the very bottom, if not all of them.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Now, I know it's not flattering, and I'm sure the
Ravens are mad and John Harbot's mad.
Speaker 5 (08:56):
My question is Lamar mad.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Well, here's Lamar Jackson's response to this very unflattering piece
from his real Home Totown publication right before a huge game.
Speaker 11 (09:07):
I was really hurt, Like, I don't know why I
gotta get question about well, I hear things about Oh,
I don't know if you were like, I never quit
on my team before, you know, so I never quit
anything to which. Also, I don't know where I noise
came from. I just want to win. I don't really
care about the criticism. It's gonna be that way, especially
with how the season was going and stuff like that.
(09:28):
You know, when you win and there's no noise, but
soon this, you know, you lose. Things don't look right. Oh,
all type of stuff, all type of noise come out
of nowst So.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
It is what it is.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
He doesn't look mad, he looks more. I would call
it it's bemused, which is fine. We could it is
the article right, Which parts of it are accurate, which
parts of.
Speaker 5 (09:44):
It are made. It's all completely irrelevant.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
If Lamar Jackson goes in place to even half his
ability this weekend, just go beat the Steelers. Play well,
be Lamar, and no one cares about an article that
comes out week eighteen. No one cares about you're sleeping
or you're eating because you just beat the Steelers.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
You do what you do and then go to the
playoffs and play like yourself. That's it. If Lamar is himself,
they win.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
They win that they have a better roster than the
Steelers right now, they have a better quarterback than the Steelers.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
I think they have a better pass rush than the Steelers. TJ.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Watson, you should win this game. I don't care if
it's at Pittsburgh. You have the MVP quarterback, you have this,
you have that, and now you Lamar has something that
maybe he hasn't always had, which is motivation. It's like you,
as a LaVar Lamar fan, you want to shake him
by the shoulders. Deck Lamark, wake up, Just be Lamar.
Go be Lamar this weekend. If Lamar is Lamar, the
Ravens win.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Kyle, I'm reminded of a couple off seasons ago.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Every show we did on Good Morning Football was the
relationship between John Harbaugh and Lamar Jackson and how the
Ravens were handling the contract situation they found themselves in.
And I've never gotten over this sinking feeling that everything
that was said about the quarterback then, about whether or
not the organization was committed to him what it was
going to take for other teams to come and get Lamar.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
How does one just.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Shake that, even though the deal was done and ratified
and there was great money there. I'm wondering, guys that
around the table, how does John Harbaugh play for all
of you? Because we're looking at the other logo here
with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and we constantly belittled Mike Tomlin
for being nine and seven, ten and six, d all
this stuff. But John Harbaugh is eight and eight. He
could finish this season eight and nine. How does Harbaugh
(11:18):
Manti play into this conversation for you?
Speaker 8 (11:20):
Well, I think Harball has always been one that's probably
been the biggest fan of Lamar. I mean it goes
back to asking Lamar do you want to go on?
Do you want to go for it? On fourth down?
And giving him that luxury of making that decision, and
you know that obviously gives a lot of responsibility to
your young quarterback, but then it also puts you in
a situation as a head coach sometimes where you've got
to put your foot down to make some decisions.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
Now, John Harball, from all.
Speaker 8 (11:42):
Accounts that I've heard from guys, who have played with them,
former teammates of mine, Eric Whittle, Marcus Williams, They've all
raved about coach Harbaugh and just the discipline that is.
The practice is we have special teams practice first, and
obviously John Harball having a special team's background. But I
think when you look at the AFC North in general, Jamie,
(12:03):
it's been kind of one of those visions that's kind
of been mad and when it comes to the records
and so I think if it was the Ravens are
eight and eight but the Steelers are like twelve and four,
it'll be a different situation. But because they're all in
the same pack, I think it you kind of gives
him the nad a little bit.
Speaker 7 (12:22):
Will You're going to go, yeah, you know what, Yeah,
it was sorry about that. What's interesting is I think
with John Hallball, people just want to see him bounce back.
Like there was a point after Mike Tomlin was getting
to fire him rants and the Pittsburgh seemed like they
turned to still in nations, seemed like they turned.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
It back on him.
Speaker 7 (12:38):
He responded with three straight wins. You saw John Holball,
especially during this season with his defense wasn't playing well.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
The offense was muddy.
Speaker 7 (12:45):
It seemed like he let go to will the team
never responded to him. So this is another opportunity and
coming in Sunday against the Steelers where he has an
opportunity to say, hey, man, I responded as a head coach, my.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Team is could continue to fight.
Speaker 7 (12:58):
I'm fighting, We're all fighting, all enough and this is
a big win for him and his resume. I don't
want to see him get it done, but if he does, man,
it will say it will speak a lot.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
It feels like there there might be more pressure on
jarn Harbaugh and there's a lot on Tomlin.
Speaker 5 (13:11):
Listening Mike Tomlin loses this game, you know how it's
going to go.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
It's it's going to look really bad and they're going
to finish nine and eight and miss the playoffs. But
at the same time, if you were to go back
to August, this Ravens team is supposed to do special
things this year.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
They are loaded, they have an incredible roster.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
You have Prime Lamar, you have the coach, you have
everything to be sitting here at eight and nine with
a winning in loss to a Steeler. Listen the Steelers thing.
They did this crazy experiment with this old quarterback who
the Jets. The Jets just rejected like it didn't work out.
They tried, Rogers didn't work out. What's the Ravens excuse? Like,
(13:50):
why is this not a playoff team? If they lose
this year? Why I'm even asking why are they eight
and eight? Lamar's been weird, Lamar's been banged up, and
maybe it hasn't been j John Harbaugh's greatest year. I
just I'll go back to what I said about Lamar,
John Harbaugh, win this game, going to put Sperkin, beat
Mike Tomlin and send them to ninety eight and go
to the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
You're good by yourself another couple of years.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Man.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
It's a winning is in everything in this Everyone's day
is great the next day if you just win this game,
and if you lose, my god, Tomlin, Harbaugh, Rogers. There's
so many steaks here, and they're all so heavily negative
for the team that loses. It really is very macabre
and very dark, but that's kind of what makes it fun.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
Some team's going to be screwed after they lose this.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
You know, you said everyone's day is great the day after, Kyle,
but everybody gets thirty seconds. Stands of this question, what
does our day look like on Monday depending on who
wins this game Sunday night? What's better for Good Morning Football?
Speaker 3 (14:47):
For who wins?
Speaker 2 (14:48):
And I'm not talking about you think this team's going
to win. It's that you can't wait to sit down,
butt in chair and say, let's rock with GMFB if
this team wins. Is there a better content team? Is
it Steelers or Ravens?
Speaker 3 (14:59):
You get ten seconds, go, yeah.
Speaker 8 (15:01):
I'll go to the Steelers to be able to talk
about Aaron Rodgers and continues his legacy or his journey continues,
and what that could be for the Steelers willly, I
would say the better content for me would be the Steelers.
Speaker 7 (15:12):
Now, I want the Steelers to win, but I got
to be objective. I think it would make for better
content if the Ravers could win this game, especially because
how we perceive this team going into the season super
Bowl attenders.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
Even though they lost to the Bills, it was.
Speaker 7 (15:26):
Still a dominant performance on offense and then tiling about
one to five. Lamar Jackson gets hurt, dere Henry has
Balkatrol issues this defense. You can't find it on tape
and then in Green Bay they found their identity. They
became the team everybody was worried about. And now if
they beat Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh in prime time, I got
to be honest, they now become the scariest team going
(15:47):
into the playoffs. And if you're the Texans on Bills,
I don't know if you want that smoke. So for me,
the content, if you want to see what this team
looks like, they're hard to kill. You don't want to
see him come playoff time, KB, They're gonna.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Be left that Willie Speaks and steven sagall movie titles.
I just love that, Like that's my mandarin Chinese. I
completely get it. I'll be quick Monday. Jamie has a
very unfortunate nickname around the league this coming Monday that
we don't embrace as a show or a network.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
But it's dark. Let's just say, if the Ravens.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Lose this game, that's really bad, and it's I just
am gravitating towards what would be the most negative content,
Ravens losing with a winning in with Lamar and Derek Henry,
you don't even get to the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
Don't get me wrong, The Steelers would be bad.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
But if you're looking for these stronger content, either positive
or negative, there will be strong negative content if the
Ravens lose. And if you're saying, oh the Steelers, well
wait till the Steelers losing the wildcard round again, then
that'll be their strong content.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
So we would satisfy both ends of the spectrum.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
Would we see an under Siege three on Monday? If
we move forward with that on.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Ja oping, if so goals down, I'll write a script
that can do in ten minutes.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
Oh no, it's not that easy, all right.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
On GMFP, there's a lot on the line regarding grabbing
a playoff spot, but for some players, the incentive is
there in the form of Cole hard Cash. We're going
to talk about this later in the show. Kyle, It's
incentive Friday, it really is.
Speaker 5 (17:10):
Yeah, let's get into it.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
I have mixed opinions about that, however, U you can
too on any Twitter account, any TV channel is it
Drake mayor is and Matthew Staffer's and Matthew staffers A
Drake may What about this guy?
Speaker 5 (17:21):
What about this guy?
Speaker 6 (17:23):
What about him?
Speaker 5 (17:24):
Should that be the NVP of the league.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
I have data opinions and thoughts about Christian McCaffrey and
the absolutely historic season that he is about to.
Speaker 5 (17:33):
Finish this coming weekend. He's been insane.
Speaker 12 (17:36):
Don't go anywhere, good mom, Mom.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Christian McCaffrey styles speed, elusiveness, and power on just fot.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
Christian's been a machine.
Speaker 8 (17:58):
Christian Hey somersault into the usode put.
Speaker 6 (18:02):
A forty nine er.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
Kaffrey no for the goal line, wide.
Speaker 5 (18:06):
Open, brows's way into the inside.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
There are forty nine ers, touchdown, don't talk to McCaffrey's up,
forty five nine.
Speaker 11 (18:14):
Fifties New York and forty.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
Let me gets tied to the thirty.
Speaker 10 (18:17):
McCaffrey gets to the edge of the left side.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
Five honesty into the exult, all right?
Speaker 1 (18:26):
With Christian McCaffrey. We've become so numb like Lincoln Park.
I won't allow it, though. I think we are just
days and numb and not really assessing properly how amazing
this season has been for Christian McCaffrey. I won't stand
for it. I know he's been great for a while,
He's never been great like this, in my opinion, and
I have the evidence. Let's get into this. He's of evidence.
(18:48):
Number one, do you understand the workload that number twenty
three for the forty nine ers has had this year.
Speaker 5 (18:53):
Bring it up. He enters Saturday's game with three hundred
and ninety nine touches.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Here's the list of most touches in the NFL over
the last decade. Leveon Bell back in twenty seventeen. He's
gonna have more than him himself. Back in twenty nineteen.
He's going to have more than himself. Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs,
Derrick Henry again. He's going to blow all these numbers
away by the end of the game this weekend, when
he will be well north of four hundred.
Speaker 5 (19:18):
That is an insane, insane workload.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
It should at least make you stop and blink while
you're having your coffee this morning.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
Number two with four catches.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
On Saturday, Christian McCaffrey again will have a one hundred
catch season. He will reach one hundred receptions for the
third time in his career. Guys, would you like to
see the list of running backs who have reached triple
digits in receptions. Here they are Austin Eckler, my Guy,
Larry Sanders, Matt Forte, and the Danian Tomlinson. Those guys
(19:52):
have done it once. Those are legends, those are fan favorites,
those are role players, those are everything. They've had one
hundred catches once. CMC can and will do it for
the third time. If you were doing statistical things that
Ladanian Thompson never did, you are in the stratosphere. It's
not normal. Reason number three, two thousand scrimmage jars to
(20:16):
go with those one hundred receptions, two thousand yards.
Speaker 5 (20:19):
From scrimmage to go with a hundred receptions. All right,
he did this back in twenty nineteen. All the things
he's doing is.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Like, you've done it before, and that's probably why we're like, oh,
it's just Christian and Christian stop saying that there's nothing
Christian about what's going on here. The only other person
who has done it in history two thousand scrimmag yards
and one hundred catches is again the alien Ladanian Tomlinson.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
He did it in two thousand and three, over twenty
years ago.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
If and when Christian McCaffrey has four catches this weekend,
and you know he will, he would become the only
player ever to have two thousand scrimmage yards and one
hundred receptions twice, my friends, twice understand Ladanian Thomason is
my is on my running back rushmore. I think he's
one of the four greatest running backs. McCaffrey is doing
(21:05):
things he couldn't do. Also, this is not some bottom
of the barrel team that's just feeding him and they're
going to be eight and ten and who cares.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
He is doing this because he has one more win.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
On Saturday Night, the forty nine ers will earn the
number one seed in the NFC. They will have home
field throughout the postseason, and God willing, and that number
twenty three will have a buy and a rest for
those legs, those shoulders, those arms, that heart, and that
set that Christian McCaffrey.
Speaker 5 (21:35):
Has on him. It is not being respected enough, guys.
I will close with this.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
I am being told that MVP is a quarterback award.
I'm sick of being told that that's nonsense. I've seen
running backs win MVP. I've seen running backs win MVP
in this era. If you're telling me that I have
to pick between Matthew Stafford and Drake May, I am
telling you you are not paying attention to Christian McCaffrey.
Speaker 5 (21:57):
He cannot possibly do more in a season with injuries.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Is this season, with all kinds of obstacles, he has
been the rock, the most solid, the most statistically dominant
player in the NFL is Christian McCaffrey. I have an
MVP vote. I've not cast it yet. I'm not divulging
who I'm voting for. But if Christian Gaffer doesn't have
your attention, again, you're not paying attention to football and
you should.
Speaker 5 (22:17):
Guys, tell me I'm wrong. I dare you. You're not wrong, brother,
You're not wrong.
Speaker 8 (22:21):
I actually went back to twenty nineteen to that year
that you referred to. That's the last time that he
had a stat line like that. Lamar Jackson won the
MVP and Michael Thomas won the Offensive Player of the Year.
And I was with Michael Thomas that year and it
was a magical year. However, when you do look at
Christian McCaffrey and he's been the only answer over there
for the San Francisco forty nine ers after they just
(22:41):
revamped that whole offensive team over there, I think it's
hard to argue against what you just said about him.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
Kyle.
Speaker 8 (22:51):
It's phenomenal.
Speaker 7 (22:53):
Yeah, Well makes cmc special man. He's two ellig players
in one body. His ability to run the ball and
catch the ball as second to none, and I think
what makes him special also is his vision, his bers.
He has the whole run speed and he's patient too,
I think from an office lineman standpoint, which you love
about him too. He gets stronger as a game goes on.
And what he did for the forty nine ers this year,
(23:14):
and KB highlighted to it, he was a stabilizer you
talk about when Perdy went down. Now you kiddle, all
these guys been out of the lineup. They only had
CMC and they had mac Jones at times, and they
just kept giving him the rock and he kept delivering.
When you have a back who lunts the ball, who
could run behind his pads and really get you over
the threshold and you're able to walk out the building
(23:34):
with a w you root for a guy like that,
and he's humble. You know about his dad, his Petti
crew and his blood line. The guy's an absolute stud.
I would I'm with KB man if there's an MVP
to be put on the table, he's definitely in the conversation.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
I love everything he did this year, Jamie.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
I've come full circle on Kyle bragging about the fact
that he has an MVP vote. At first I was jealous,
and now I don't envy you whatsoever, Kyle, because I
feel very resentful towards the fact that this is even
a thing that's happening that Kyle has to make a
sick minute segment on making an argument for the blasphemous
(24:09):
concept that a running back could even get the MVP.
The word is valuable. The emphasis should be on the
word valuable. It's not the best quarterback award. Yes, the
quarterbacks have great hands in this thing, but I would say,
if you had to force a quarterback, I will go
Drake May over Stafford.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Staffords an unbelievable defense. Stafford's team is.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
A better roster top to bottom than the Patriots, which
is why Drake May would be in that conversation for me.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
But if you're looking at.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
The word valuable, which we should, if you hold that
MVP vote, it would go to this man. So Kyle,
I'm actually glad I don't because everybody gets called out
when you who is.
Speaker 13 (24:45):
This stupid voter who voted for CMC said there's three people.
I would have been one of them. Just to throw
a wrench in the wheel. I despise the fact that
the word valuable doesn't have more of an emphasis.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Yeah, by the way, Jamie, those people can bring it.
I'm ready batting down the hatches all year. I'm going
to go on conventional with some of my picks, not
saying I'm in this.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
I'm going to do it as I would do it.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
I do not cater to the masses and those masses
who just cannot wait to tell you that VP's of
Quarterback Award. Not only is that wrong, I think it's lazy.
I think it's easy. I think if you just mail
it in and just pick the best quarterback on the
best team and understand, like, I really really like Drake May,
I really like Matthew Stafford. I'm not saying I have
great opinions. There are great seasons. Rather, it's been awesome.
(25:28):
Drake May is a superstar. He's going to the stratusphere.
The Patriots could win the Super Bowl this year. It
doesn't have to be a quarterback. I really do think
by all the metrics, Christian McCaffrey.
Speaker 5 (25:37):
Has been the guy.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Now listen, he has a final exam, he has a
nationally televised game against a very very very good Seattle team.
The votes don't have to be in until after that game.
So McCaffrey shows up and doesn't do much, puts the
ball on the ground, like then it's over. He really
has to run like a perfect campaign, like a politician,
like to be a running back MVP. I mean, Adrian
(25:58):
Peterson was a long time ago, and he had a
story and he had everything. But if McCaffrey goes nuts
against Seattle, and he might and he does one of
those Oh, I went for one sixty five total yards
and two touchdowns with nine catches, like bye bye, final exam.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
Time, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
It's it reminds me of not that I ever took
an AP class, but if I did, I heard that
you when you take the test, in order for it
to qualify for a college point or two, you have
to passibly take get like a four or five on
the test. Like if you get a three on the
test doesn't count. All you did was take the AP
class and it doesn't count for as anything. He's got
(26:33):
to get a four or a five on this AP
exam this weekend in order for it to qualify for
one of those college credits.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Did I get that right?
Speaker 4 (26:41):
I never did well.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
Close to home. You accuse me of bragging earlier in
the segment.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
I took a couple of AP exams and I got
four's in my university would not accept four.
Speaker 5 (26:51):
So what am I going to do? I can't do that.
Sorry that.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
You're wearing on your chest.
Speaker 5 (26:58):
That's a ridiculous thing. I just said. There.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Hey McCaffrey and a Stanford man, right, I mean they're
looking for five.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
He was number five at Stanford. He wait for the
Rails now.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
But like I listen, final exam time, get a five
on that AP exam against Seahawks and against the Seahawks,
and then maybe some people like, oh wow, the historic
Drake May twenty twenty five. So week you have to
vote for Drake Made. I'm sorry to Drake May throw
sixty touchdowns this year. I know he played really well
on a really good team, but like, I have to
vote for him, though, I don't vote for whatever I want,
and unlike you, who's probably spot in that opinion, I
(27:29):
have a vote.
Speaker 13 (27:33):
What sort of.
Speaker 9 (27:35):
Well NFL Fan of the Year, presented by Captain Morgan,
celebrates extraordinary fans from an early age Lawrence Wilkinson's unwavering
dedication and passion for the Carolina Panthers is at the
center of his story. Lawrence embodies what it means to
keep pounding. This mantra took a deeper meaning in twenty
fourteen when he lost his mother to lung cancer, bring
(27:57):
one of the hardest times in his life. The team,
the fans in the community became.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
A source of comfort and strength for Lawrence.
Speaker 9 (28:04):
The support he found among fellow fans reminded him keep
pounding is more than words, It's a way of life.
Speaker 6 (28:10):
I mean he's unable to attend games.
Speaker 9 (28:12):
He shares his tickets with other families to give them
a chance to experience their first game, to create those
lasting memories. But at every game he shows the same passion, loyalty,

matter what. Learn more about all thirty two nominees, but
(28:32):
for your favorite, visit NFL dot com slash Fan of
the Year now coming up here on JMFB with just
the playoffs are around the corner. Looking at some concerning numbers.
You might even call them red flags that some teams
in the NFC might have to clean up that they
plan to go far in the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (28:49):
Stay here with us, good mon.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Football maturity in your adult life requires a lot of things. Example,
in your dating life, a green flag material with somebody
that you're dating might be I don't know, willing to
meet your pairents sooner than you anticipated, just giving you
flowers and not for an apology just because red flag material.
Not knowing how to iron his own shirt, or wanting
(29:21):
to split the dinner bill on the first state red flag,
green flag.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
Okay, we understand this perfectly. Now that we're all football fans, we.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Can apply that to Week eighteen regular season of twenty
twenty five. There's only one playoff spot available in the NFC.
We're going to do this with both conferences. But this
one spot left will go to the Panthers or the Buccaneers,
depending on how the weekend fares out. Now that the
postseason is nearly set, NFL research has pointed out some
statistics to us that could be some red flag material
(29:50):
for some of these teams entering January. So, gentlemen round
the table, I don't want to hear about your red
green flag dating stuff I want to hear as it
pertains to football.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
Okay, here we go.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
Let's start with the forty nine Ers defense. This defense,
because of a lot of injury, has managed just eighteen total.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
Sacks this season.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
That ranks dead last in the NFL and eight fewer
than the next closest team, which is the Jets. By comparison,
Miles Garrett by himself has twenty two. Cleland Farrell and
Bryce Hoff are tied for the Niners team lead with
just four a piece. Manti, is this a red flag
knowing that San Francisco, who could be the number one
(30:32):
seed in the NFC playoffs, blacks pressure on a quarterback
of just eighteen sex.
Speaker 8 (30:36):
Well, you kind of answered it for me a little bit, Jamie.
It's a green flag for me because regardless of that
stat they still have the opportunity to be the number
one seed in the NFC and when the NFC West
now is also green flag because they do have the
number six rushing defense. So if everything was towards the
bottom of the bin for me with the San Francisco
for Niners defense.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
Really I would say that it's a red flag.
Speaker 8 (30:58):
But because they do other things that are good.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
It's a green flag for me. Wow, Manti, I'm shocked
that does you go red flag here?
Speaker 7 (31:05):
You gotta understand when Nick Bolsa was on the field man,
the teams are averaging five to six explosive plays. Now
understand what explosive play is. You talk about twelve or
more runs as far as pass six to or more,
but more yards in the air. Teams are averaging nine
to ten explosive plays on the forty nine ers.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
That's not good. And considering if.
Speaker 7 (31:22):
You know anything about Robert solid defense, he only rushes
for he likes to get to the quarterback with his
front four. They have a transitioned to be a heavy
blitz scheme. So now you're talking about this team not
being able to get after the quarterback, not being able
to stand up a situational football, not getting takeaways. They're
a bad defense. And when I said time after time,
what do you need this time year? A good quarterback
and a defense that travels, that's a big red flag
(31:43):
for me.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
KB.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
I would love to go with Manti's take that it's like, Wow,
they're here in spite of that, so who cares them
having so few sacks? Is in a red flag. It's
a flex. But do you know how few they have.
I mean they have eighteen sacks this season. That's eight
fewer than any other team. There's some bad teams out there, Guys,
they rushed the pass are way better than I have
(32:06):
to say red flag because I know you can get
through the season on grit and getting in Shanhan.
Speaker 5 (32:11):
Wow, that's a hell of a picture of Shanny. I'll
give that a green flag.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
But listen, you know these Niners, these these playoff games
are all right, Sam Susqua is a four point lead
and the other team has, you know, three minutes left.
Speaker 5 (32:24):
Like, you need sacks. You need sacks in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
You need sacks because you're playing really good quarterbacks and
really good coaches, and the sack is just the offense killer.
Now you might say at San Francisco, well, we just
stared down Caleb Williams and the Bears with our defense
and we held them out. That was pretty close, guys,
it was pretty close. It was one throw it would
have ended the game. And I just listened.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
I like the Niners. I've been singing about the Nighters
all morning.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
I can't do the backflips to say they have by
far the fewest sacks in the entire NFL as a positive.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
Yeah, all right, okay, good.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
We have a clarification for each of those, and we
have a good example of what running green flights mean
for us. Moving on within the NFC, we look at
the nfcast now and the Champy representative champion Eagles Philadelphia
has scored just over twenty two points per game this season,
which ranks nineteenth in the NFL. This is also the
fewest in the Knick Sirianni era. To make matters worse,
(33:17):
this offense goes three and outs twenty nine percent of
the time.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
Jalen Words is.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
Out there thirty percent of the time. Guys, they go
three and out.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
It's not great. It's not great.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
MANSI Is this a red flag for the defending Super
Bowl champion Eagles.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
It's a huge red flag for me.
Speaker 8 (33:33):
Like that three and out that is a term that
it just nails on a chalkboard for me as a
defender especially. I don't care how dominant your defense is.
Nothing is worse than when you come on the sideline,
whether it be a three and ol on your end
or a ten play drive and you're trying to get
the corrections. You're looking at that surface and you're going
through everything and all you hear is punt hot and
(33:53):
you got to go back out there, and just the
morale of man, like, can we just like s stain
in a drive so I can just get some water.
If you continue to have these three and outs, something
starts to happen where there's a split within the team.
And I've been there myself with that three and out topic.
Speaker 4 (34:10):
So it's a big red flag for me. Willie.
Speaker 7 (34:13):
Yeah, man, I kind of agree with you, but this
is a green flag for me because everything that you
talked about is corrected before. The Philadelphia Eagles, they just
have to win on first and second down, be it
more efficient and understand what they need to do as
far as attacking the edges.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
Maybe have some quick game RPOs.
Speaker 7 (34:28):
If you're Jalen Hurston this office, man, if you keep
things on third and short, man, they have a sixty
percent conversion rate.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
Is when they get.
Speaker 7 (34:35):
Third and medium and thirty long where they take a
cliff flip dive and things go bad. The part with
the Eagles right now, you just don't know what they
do well. They just survive and because their defense is
playing at a high level. They've been able to get
out the building on top. If you're the Philadelphia Eus
on offense right now, it's about first and second downs.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
You gotta have to win so you.
Speaker 7 (34:55):
Can keep these third and short and you can sustain
a long drive and you can get a rhythm early
in games.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
KB.
Speaker 7 (35:00):
If they able to do that, they can make a
legit run in January.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
You want to know why the Eagles are that is
offending Super Bowl champions, the reigning NFC East champions, and
their fans.
Speaker 5 (35:10):
Are miserable this stat This is a tough stat.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
Because when you're watching the game at home, maybe as
an Eagles fan, three and out suck.
Speaker 5 (35:19):
He just went to the bathroom, he just came back
from commercial. You hear it, and there you know what,
they're three and outs. Look, they're ugly three and outs.
Speaker 4 (35:25):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
It's a first down, it's a two yard run to
Saquon a second down, it's an incomplete to AJ and
then third and eight, it's like a six yard pass to.
Speaker 5 (35:33):
Dallas Goddard Nypunk.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
So it's not fun and it's very, very very demoralizing,
especially since early in the year you think they wouldn't
have the three and outs because if they had fourth
and short, they could just push push it, you know
what I mean. But three and outs are very, very
frustrating for fan bases. And yet no, no, no, take
that graphic down. I'm going green flag. I'm going to
dad by Shyamalan. Put put up the green, Put up
(35:56):
the green. Yeah, because you know what, I can't cast
any doubt at this Eagles team.
Speaker 5 (36:02):
There's such a weird team. I can't figure them out.
But I will say this. The faster the offense.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Gets off the field, the faster the defense can get
on the field, and that's.
Speaker 5 (36:09):
When the Eagles are at their best. So go ahead,
do some two and outs if you want. Just get
that defense back out there and let's win some games.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
The faster that defense gets on the field, the sooner
we see the Utters celebration with Cooper dejan perfect. Let's
take a look at the Bears representing the NFC North.
They are currently the second seed and the playoffs and
that side of the conference.
Speaker 3 (36:27):
Their offense ranks.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Third in total yards per game, but the same cannot
be said for their defense. That'side the ball is allowing
more than three hundred and fifty yards of total yards
per game, which ranks twenty eighth in the NFL this season.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Manzi, is this a big old red flag for Chicago?
Speaker 4 (36:45):
It would be, but it's not for me.
Speaker 5 (36:46):
It's a green flag.
Speaker 8 (36:47):
Why because they lead the league in turnovers and whenever
you can take the ball away from an offense and
give it back. I know you don't want to have
all those yards, but if I can limit them on.
Speaker 5 (36:57):
A point, yeah, let's go.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
Ben.
Speaker 8 (37:02):
That defense continues to take the ball away and give
it back to Caleb Williams and let Kayle Williams and
the offense do what they do best. I think it's
a green flag for me because of the turnovers.
Speaker 4 (37:11):
Willie man To, I don't know what's going on with
you today.
Speaker 7 (37:13):
I mean, you're a stud linebacker. You're giving me a
green flag. This is a clear red flag. This defence
is giving up one hundred and thirty five yards.
Speaker 4 (37:22):
A game, like like you're a downhill linebacker. You stuffed
the run. The Bears can't do that.
Speaker 7 (37:28):
And what's crazy is they give up so many yards
and other teams are able to sustain some long drives
that offensively for the Bears, they have to play catchup
because their first fifteen is out the door early.
Speaker 4 (37:39):
So it puts a lot of pressure.
Speaker 7 (37:40):
On this office of Caleb Williams to come out the
gate high. And that's why they struggled in the first
half game. Second half of games, they're able to rally.
I get the takeaways, but we just walked to not
drop a forty burger on the head. What's the takeaways
whether if you've give it up forty points? Kat, help
me understand what's wrong with mantid CoV on kV Listen.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
I would love so much to bring back that picture
of shirtless Ben Johnson with the green flag.
Speaker 5 (38:02):
But this I'm sorry, I can't do it.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
No, listen, man, time getting by on takeaways on defense,
it's like playing blackjacket, just like I just get aces
all the time.
Speaker 5 (38:12):
Gip, deal me ace, I'm gonna win the aces.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
Dry up, dude, they do. And Willy to your question,
they just gave up a forty burger. That game was
a perfect microcosm. The defense gets a pick six on
the first play of the game.
Speaker 5 (38:23):
Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
The defense incredible takeaways, takeaways, takeaways, and then they couldn't
stop them the rest of the game brock Proty just
ate them up and they may play brock Proty again.
So like relying on the turnovers or takeaways, rather, that's
great and they are awesome at that, and they have
over thirty I just like the teams in the playoffs
don't make as many as.
Speaker 5 (38:42):
The bad teams you play during your regular season.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Caleb and Ben Johnson's offense is good enough to win
multiple playoff games.
Speaker 5 (38:49):
I'm not sure yet that their standard.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
Default defense without the takeaways is you play one playoff
game against a good pretty good playoff team and you
don't get three takeaways and you lose.
Speaker 5 (38:58):
Like that's not a formula.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
Actually hearing all this information, it makes it even more
jarring that the Eagles couldn't be the that weekend.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
The fact that the Vands are giving up all they
got mauled him in Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
There's somebody in my Aarmanti that feels like you're an
Eagles hater because the only red flag you gave out
was to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
Sorry, Bill.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
Down all knife and girl from a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
Down field down on wide open ten touchdown.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Rico Dowdo run, Rico run down an touchdown up the
middle and into the inisode touchdown.
Speaker 4 (39:42):
Carolina, and he just keeps trucking.
Speaker 6 (39:44):
Look at this down.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
Remember when Rico daudo like took over the NFL for
a couple of weeks earlier this year, he had four
hundred yards rushing nearly in two games.
Speaker 5 (39:55):
Well, this is really cool. If Rico gets.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
Seven scrimmage yards this week, and just seven, he gets
a million dollars.
Speaker 5 (40:01):
If he gets a touchdown, he gets another quarter.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
Melt So another where it's if Rico Dadle has a
seven yard touchdown catch or run one point two five
And I really respect this one because he's not some
massive contract guy who puts a little more change in
his coin drawer. It's a big deal for a guy
who's worked really hard to get there, and not his
first team.
Speaker 5 (40:19):
He's been awesome this year, so I hope he gets it.
What else are we looking for?
Speaker 6 (40:22):
All right?
Speaker 2 (40:23):
Well, the Panthers are playing the Buccaneers, right, so Sterling
Shepherd actually needs one catch and twenty nine receiving yards
for two separate one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars bonuses.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
Guys, I'm not the best of math, but I.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
Know that that's two fifty k if I don't know,
he just goes like a toss sweep and they're like,
he just runs through the backfield. Just twenty nine, Just
twenty nine extra couple receiving yards man Ti Sterling Sheppard.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
We love you. We hope that works out for you
this weekend.
Speaker 8 (40:51):
Yeah, somebody, we also hope hope it works out for
is kaylevon Chase song. He's going to have a Chase
song this week with Miami Dolphins. If he has half
a sack, he gets a five hundred.
Speaker 5 (41:00):
Thousand dollars bonus.
Speaker 8 (41:01):
It's going to get some rookie quarterback yours who's going
to run around, scramble around, probably buy some more time.
So he has a great opportunity to get that, and
I hope that he does.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
Willie, who do you have? Hollywood Brown?
Speaker 7 (41:13):
He's one touchdown for a two hundred and fifty thousand
dollars bonus.
Speaker 4 (41:17):
I hope the young fella gets it.
Speaker 7 (41:19):
And if you do get it, give me something, let
me hold something, please.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
It's well done. Good luck to you guys this weekend. Willie,
who's jersey are you wearing?
Speaker 7 (41:29):
By the way, the Great DEMONI Dawpson my favorite office
of Lineman Steeler, hell of a center, great human being.
When I was at Pittsburgh Man in the off season,
I used to turn on tape of this.
Speaker 4 (41:42):
Man right here.
Speaker 7 (41:43):
They weren't gonna still struggled, but he was dominant.
Speaker 4 (41:46):
Love the money, Dawphon, this is a certain.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
Way to go.
Speaker 5 (41:48):
That's a sick hoodie bro.
