Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
It's a big old Friday on Good Morning Football. You
know why his games were played last night?
Speaker 3 (00:14):
You know why else? Because not only does.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Kyle hold a shatcy today, I do too, Jamie art All, Mantay, Teo,
Will Blackman, Kyle Brandt, It's Friday, August.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
That's really happening, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
We have a rookie quarterback at the starting tonight, so
much to get to is very thrilling.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
That is all.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
We have starters, household names, and superstars running around making
plays in the preseason. I promise you'll love it. It's
coming Good Morning Football Friday. Somebody's poison the water hole.
Speaker 5 (00:41):
Let's do it.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Good Morning Football.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
What's happening everybody? Good Morning football on a Friday?
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Jamie Mansi, Woodie, will everyone here, tgif Kyle?
Speaker 3 (01:06):
How about those?
Speaker 2 (01:07):
How about the Bengals Eagles game last night? Did that
not have a flavor of a Week three regular season
sprinkle to it?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
At least at the jump?
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:15):
I mean at some points it felt like Week seventeen.
I could not believe what we were watching. This is
an amazing, amazing thing. I think Jamar Chase hit some
more contract incentives last night and week one of the
preseason superstars everywhere.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
Guys, these things are on fire today. I promise you.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
It's not the usual preseason thing where we convince you
it was cool and it was all right.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
It really was cool.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
It's fantastic. We have so much to get to. You
had a list coming today. What's your top five today?
Speaker 6 (01:40):
I got top five rookies that you should watch out.
I mean, there's some guys last night that played that
I was really excited about. But there's some that are
coming about to play tonight, tomorrow, throughout the weekend that
we're excited to see.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
You got the shad Or Sanders experience happening tonight on
NFL Network. We'll get to that until then, Kyle, let
us review what happened on a Thursday. It's like the
old classic ABC lineup on a Thursday.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
You had to watch what happened? Kyle, take us away,
Eagles Bengals.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
Can't miss it.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Guys.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
Let's go to the cradle.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Of democracy in this country of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jalen Hurst
didn't play, Jamar Chase did, and Joe Burrows did, and
they didn't play like three snaps and just get a sweat.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
Joe's out there chucking it. This is a crazy thing. God,
I wish it was just the Bengals. I could tell
you that it's not. We got other guys out.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
There making place to thirty four to twenty seven and
electric contest Eagles Bengals, that is it.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
I'm fired up, as you should be.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
And Kyle, I know the exact thing that you were
going to take away from this was not the under
Yosovosh experience at the end. It was the fact that
to your point, for as much as the Bengals have
absolutely struggled in September, perhaps this approach now is because
they want to welcome a faster, a hotter start in
the regular season, so they threw their guys out there
to mess around in early August.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
And Kyle sounds like you're here for it.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
Who isn't?
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Or yeah, listen, maybe you watch that game and be like,
oh my god, I can't look.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
Just get Burrow the hell off the field.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
I understand that, And certainly maybe if you're a Colts
fan you feel that way too this morning, And we'll
talk about that in a little bit.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
Maybe it's the slow start to a season thing. I
looked it up.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
So they played fifteen snapse each. Burrow and Chase each
played fifteen snaps. Last year, Chase didn't play at all.
Twenty twenty three, Chase didn't play at all. It's definitely different.
They got the guys out there, and as we're gonna
see there's other teams too. We're gonna get to this
Raiders highlight. Gino's out there, Ashton genty is out there.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
It's a real fan question.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Do you like seeing the superstars out there in a
preseason game?
Speaker 5 (03:37):
Is it good? Is it fun? Or is it like? No?
Speaker 1 (03:39):
No, no, no, no, no no no. I have enough patience
to wait until September.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
I don't want an injury risk.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I remember Michael Vick against the Ravens. I remember Tony
Romo in twenty sixteen. Or do you just say I've
been Parks for six straight months and I just want
to see some damn highlights.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
I'm someplace you're never supposed to.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Be in sports media, guys, I'm on the fence. I
feel both the exact same way.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
But if the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Truly think that, no way, we're not going oh and
two or one and one and anything to start the season.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
This is gonna change it. Well then God bless them.
Do they look great out there.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
I mean this is some of the best preseason action
I've ever seen black men.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
No, no, I think this is great.
Speaker 7 (04:14):
I mean I am on the fence in terms of like, okay,
I do want to see the starters, but like after
two plays, all right, get.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Him out, Like, get him out, I see enough.
Speaker 7 (04:22):
Just just something to just get out there, you know,
a couple of screens, a couple you know, quick game
and get him out of there. But yeah, it was
excited to see him out there. I mean, we talked
about Jamar Chase. He's going against Ringo who was the
starting corner and you know, had his.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Day with them.
Speaker 7 (04:35):
So I love it for this, I love it for
the Bengals because yes, they need to start way faster
this year.
Speaker 6 (04:41):
We talked about yesterday a more iconic event in sports,
the UFC or at the field and we went around
the O horn, Jamie. We talked about our favorite moments, guys.
On that first drive that the Eagles had when they
got down to the one yard line, It's like I'm
bracing for myself.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
It's like, are they dude? The touch push to score.
Speaker 6 (05:01):
Their first touchdown of the season against the starters for
the for the Bengals. When they did it, I was like,
Nick Sirianni, you sick man?
Speaker 5 (05:09):
You like, how dare are you?
Speaker 6 (05:12):
The preseason Like that's what I look exactly like Jalen
in my living room watching this is like, No, it's
like wwe. You know, when the the opponent is stumbling
around and Goldberg is ready to do the spirit, You're like, oh,
oh it's coming, He's not.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
Gonna do it. Whoonemit.
Speaker 6 (05:30):
I was like, I was so geeked out of my
mind Jamie that they ran that that toush push. It
was a statement that they made last night. And I
think another statement that has to be made about the
Bengals is that depense need some help.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Oh like they need some help some.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
For as much as things change, that's the same from
last season. The Mangle's got to figure it out defensively.
It just a final thought on that game that if
the Eagles seem like they're in mid season four with
their toushbush, so was the television production because to have
the instantaneous reaction to Nick Sirianni Angel and Hurts absolutely
cackling on the sideline. That's the kind of technical directing
(06:03):
that we like to see in the broadcast. Boots, so
well done to those guys who broadcast the Bengals Eagles game.
Here we are moving on a couple other highlights that
happened last night. Raider Seahawks. Now, don't get confused the
fact that you're going to see Pete Carroll back in Seattle.
He is wearing the silver and black, but the posters
seemed like they were warm and friendly. Gino Smith, of course,
very familiar with that building as well. He gets the
(06:23):
start after being traded and extended. In Las Vegas, you
also saw.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
An undrafted running back out.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Of Boise State, Georgia Holani that was from last season,
punched this one in for a twenty four yard TV
up the left side. But look at who we bumped
into with them, Sure, Carshawn Lynch putting on his photographer's
cap for the day. I don't even think Holani realized
who that was. The Seahawks legend just in the absolute
crouch position, crouching Marshaan hidden photography skills, Kyle Britt.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
I think I have to give the anger run Septor
to the photographer.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
Let's just start right now. I think he's going to
get it. Mister ers was honored by the Colts.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
He's got the patch though where they were there all
year and hopefully mister says shredding a guitar solo somewhere
in the sky. Anthony richards got absolutely crushed. Well, you
probably didn't see him. This is Richardson started out sharp,
he was two for three in a couple of his
first passes, and then David Ojava completely unblocked. Anthony Richardson
dislocated pinky finger on his throwing hand. We'll talk about
(07:23):
it in a second. There's the man DJ Daniel don't
check this out. Tyler Warren not the first tight end
taken in the draft that many thought he would be.
Looks the part right there, Not exactly Bengals versus Eagles.
But guys, we saw Daniel Jones, we saw some good
things from all over the field. But kind of the
takeaway of this as the Ravens end up winning, who
cares Anthony Richardson leaves the game, does not come back
(07:45):
and now we got issues?
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Well doesn't that mean also that after last season the
Ravens lost of the Eagles. We have to start on
the Ravens. They had gone like fifty straight preseason games waiting. Yeah,
maybe that's the restart that here we go. They're one
to O Baltimore. You start afresh. What are the Colts
doing at quarterback? After that highlight? Had that unfortunate? If
you look closely enough, I think might have seen the
dislocated pinky perhaps on the throwing hand for Anthony Richardson.
(08:09):
What do we make of their quarterback situation now?
Speaker 5 (08:11):
Manton?
Speaker 6 (08:11):
Yeah, what's unfortunately? What happened to Anthony Richardson in that play?
I wish my a speedier cover. It should be fine.
I mean, take that thing up probably a few weeks now.
Daniel Jones goes in there. I think the best, one
of the best throws that I seen last night was
when he rode to his left and he had Ashton
Doolan for like twenty five yards.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
That was That was a nice throw.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
But if we're talking about quarterbacks, guys, I'm not being biased.
Speaker 5 (08:33):
Riley Leonard looked the best. Like I said.
Speaker 6 (08:35):
Yesterday, that they wanted they wanted to run the RPO
system and Riley Leonard looked very comfortable in the RPO
that run pass option offense, and so I think that
Riley Leonard gave him a really good shot. He had
a really good outing for the Coats, and I'm excited
to see how he gets better and he proves throughout
the yes, how he blossoms in the preseason.
Speaker 7 (08:52):
Yeah, it was unfortunate because it was a what ar
got hurt. It was a misprotection perhaps on his part
or the center's part, And I would say probably it
was Anthony's because you had a free runner and you
got to see that. I remember playing receiver or I
always had to know where to blitzer where so I
had the hot rote, so I knew if I saw
someone coming, okay, I need to look now so Matt
Ryan can get me the football. But I did not
(09:13):
expect I was gonna watch a Week three, twenty twenty
two matchup between Cooper Russ and Daniel Jones in the NFC.
I did not think I was going to see that
Week one of the preseason. But who stood out to
this game like it let me know immediately that Tyler
Warren is the real dude. Like he's going to be
fantastic he's gonna crush this year. I even send the
tweet out. I was like, Okay, I seed it enough.
(09:34):
Get him out the game, like he had enough. He's
getting hit in the legs, get him out the game.
So Tyler Warren, he was a standout for me.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
Well, listen, I hate to say this, but let's be honest.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
This Friday morning in August eighth, can we call it
is Daniel Jones starting for the coach week one? Probably
almost definitely today football.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
You think that's already yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
I mean it says a lot of things, But I
don't know if Anthony Richardson was going to start if
he stayed healthy, like if he's going to miss day
to day, if he's going to miss a week, the
overwhelming odds and Danie Jones is going to start this
I think he was going to start anyway they brought
I'm in to start.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
So I hate I for Anthony Richardson.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
And I'm kind of I'm kind of with will like
anybody online just saying that you know, oh that the
line blew it for him, or you know this was
an inside job haha, haa. Anthony Richardson's got to pick
that up and throw out of that, and this is
not a rookie quarterback, Like I don't want to blame
him and getting injured. I'm just gonna say like, this
was a very tight quarterback competition, which I think Daniel
(10:28):
Jones was already the favorite.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
And now if Anthony.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Richards is going to miss time with an issue in
his throwing hand, I think it's a wrap.
Speaker 5 (10:34):
I'm calling it.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Let's say something happens with Daniel Jones, and I hope
it doesn't. I think when the Colts and the Dolphins
play Week one, I think it's going to be Daniel
Jones on his second team starting Week one.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
So I hope I'm wrong.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
I've said from the get go, I'm more interested in
watching watching Anthony richardson but terrible. I'm glad it didn't
happen more quarterbacks last night, but I will say it again,
I'd be very, very very surprised if we've turned on
the Colts week one, as anybody other than Daniel Jones.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Started a couple of things about what Kyle just said.
We had the distinct pleasure over the last couple of days.
Some have some of the NFL brass and the building
the schedule makers perhaps Kyle for as many divisional opponents
that are matching up in Week one, That Dolphins Colts
game kind of jumps off the marquee, Like, man, that's
that feels random, But we're gonna watch it because we
need to find out a little bit more about each
of those teams. About you being squarely on the fence
(11:20):
as to whether or not to play players in the preseason.
I think it should just kind of be labeled as
like a case by case, team by team basis, because
there are some teams like the Ravens real like that
lineup of Kyle Hamilton, Lamar Jackson, Derek Henry, Like I
don't need to see those guys, but I actually do
feel better about seeing some of the Bengals work out.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
So it just has to.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
Be a case by case I look at it.
Speaker 6 (11:40):
It's I think a bit as like the transfer portal,
you know what I mean, Like people don't really stat
colleges no more. It's a fun thing to do, it's
a common thing to do now where they jump into
the transfer portal, But I really respect.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
Guys that just stay. That's kind of like how the
preseason is.
Speaker 6 (11:54):
It's like they don't really play their starters anymore. But
when I see starters out there now, I'm like, oh.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
Let's call like we're back to those days.
Speaker 6 (12:00):
Or give them, give them a series, give them to
a series, pull them out.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
I like that. I like that, Jim.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
It's a philosophical decision you have to make. If you're
tied and you score touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
You kick it or go for two. On GMTB, we
always go for too because.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
We've got a lot of stuff to get through, so
we got to just keep things moving. There's a lot
of excitement for Bears fans seeing how Caleb Williams will
adapt to Ben Johnson's scheme system and the way he
runs a team. The quarterback gave an update on how
are things going.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
It's been fun.
Speaker 8 (12:27):
It's challenging to be able to see in somebody else's
lens at all times, you know, and obviously you're not
always going to be on point, not always going to
be you know where exactly. You know, he may want
you when he calls it, but that's what we're working towards.
We're working towards. You know, when he calls his play,
it's you know, this play is for this and this
is you know, this is the situation, and it may
change depending on the situations.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Takes a special kind of person, I think to say
it's been fun it's challenging. Mantai, I feel like you're
one of those people you find the fun in the
challenging moments.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
What do you think of the Bear.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
So far as you well, it's funny.
Speaker 6 (13:01):
That's the first time I heard that interview, And Caleb says,
looking through his lens, Ben Johnson's lens.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
That's that's something.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
That really stands out to me. Why because oftentimes coaches
will come into a situation and try to make his
system according to his quarterbacks lens. But Ben Johnson is
coming into the Chicago Bears and say, no, you're going
to see it through my lens. And I love what's
been coming out of Bears camp with them going live,
the physicality that has been reported out of there. I've
never heard of people going live in seven on seven now,
(13:30):
that's a first, But I think that's kind of where
Ben Johnson is kind of leading this team and the
identity and the toughness that they need to play with,
especially in the NFC North. That is physical, it's violent,
and Ben Johnson is to to Caleb's point. Ben Johnson
is making it clear like you're going to do it
my way, and I think that's a great thing for
(13:50):
the Chicago Bears.
Speaker 7 (13:51):
Yeah, I think it's been going very well for the mccamp.
I actually had the pleasure I was speaking to Bears
GM Ryan Poles last night. Good buddy, mind I aske
him as of going he said it. He said, it's
very good. He's building his foundation.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
He said.
Speaker 7 (14:04):
Coach is very very hard on Caleb now, he's challenging
him very much. But the kids responding is what he said.
And he's not linear, but he's getting better and better
as you progress, as in like he may not be
directly like one play or like he's progressing straight through
like sometimes he throws good passes and times he doesn't.
Sometimes he shows great things, sometimes he doesn't. On the
other end, and he said he loves a coach, he
(14:26):
loves he loves the players, he loves the buy in,
and it's really good. And so now they're going to
have a couple of joint practices. I believe they have
him with the Dolphins because he really wants to see
who's going to rise to the occasion. So you can
tell right now based on the culture, it's very, very competitive.
They're challenging everyone. And yes, you ask has a new coach.
You must see it through my eyes, furs, you must
see like what I'm asking for. So I love his answer,
(14:48):
and I love what's going on Chicago.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Well, if anybody's watching doesn't know, you and Ryan Poles,
the Bears GM are both Boston College, I.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
Don't want to bring up BC. You know that's cool?
Speaker 5 (14:57):
Yeah, no, for real?
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Yeah, you like Ryan Poles just recently in the offseason
got a big contract extension, which actually raised some eyebrows
among Bears fans because he hasn't done much winning and
there's a lot left to be desired in the final product. So, like,
just give us a little insight into Ryan Poles, who
looms really large this year in the.
Speaker 5 (15:13):
NFL and decisions he's made. What kind of guy is he?
Speaker 4 (15:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (15:15):
So, yeah, I played with Ryan Poles at Boston College
and he's just been he's been the same person, just consistent,
just a professional at all times. And then yes, he
spent I think a decade at Kansas City in that
front office, So I mean, what a better place to
learn in that front office that would were vich over there,
So yeah, come into Chicago. He's someone who he likes
(15:36):
to be behind the scenes. He's really methodical. He definitely
has that quiet, mystique general manager energy about him. So
when you got when you got the job of Chicago,
I was not surprised. So right now I believe he's
done a great job with all the assets he's been
provided as a Jenan manager, and right now they look
like they're set up for success.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
I hear that, and he's looking he is all in
on Caleb. Caleb is his baby, I think. To answer
the question though, Jamie, I just I think this so far,
the Bears training camp portrayal and the media has been folly.
Speaker 5 (16:06):
I think it's been ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
And I really do think that all of the throwing
that stuff and this and that, like it's the kind
of stuff where in a month from now, too much.
Speaker 5 (16:15):
Or now those tweets are gonna be deleted. You go
back and look at that stuff.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Those people are gonna delete those tweets so as to
hide it like a dog burying what he did. Like,
I think it's not going to age well at all.
I really don't. I just think that the fact that
Caleb is there and he's ready to roll, and it's preseason.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Listen, in the media, nobody gets it more than us.
Preseason football is fake Christmas.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
You wait and you wait and.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
You wait, and you want it so badly, and it's like,
right now is the equivalent of like December fifth for
a kid waiting for Christmas, and you just whine and
complain there's nothing, and there's all these presents and you
want them, and you complain to your parents, and finally
your parents like, fine.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
Open one, open this one.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
These are the preseason games and you open the President
it's like it's a sweater, Like this sucks.
Speaker 5 (16:59):
I don't like this.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
I want that one. You don't get that one. You
don't get that one. You gotta wait for that one.
So don't weigh in on how you got a terrible
group of presents this year because you got one sweater
because you nag your parents and letting you open it.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
The good stuff is yet to come.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
It's really something we're so hungry for football, and we
so want to have takes on these players when the
preseason really doesn't allow us to have.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
Takes of substance on players.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
So what happens you start jumping on nonsense and idiocy
to try to have takes and make content.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
It's very difficult.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
It's difficult to really make something that makes sense out
of that. So some of us try to just dread
water and wait and wear the sweater and fine.
Speaker 5 (17:41):
But then others are just like, nah, I don't care.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
I'm going to go nuclear with this stupid throwing net
thing because I'll get reaction.
Speaker 5 (17:49):
It's nonsense.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
It's twenty twenty five media, and I happen to think
that in a month or two, I hope those people
go back and delete them and we will find you,
because we know when we retweet you and you go
back and says, this tweet has been deleted. You tried
to cover it up. Tough guy, and we know it.
That's going to be happening this season for Caleb Takes.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
What you're saying is you have to have patience and
loyalty for the regular season. It's like if a shiny
new toy comes into the toy room and you're like, oh,
this is awesome, this is exactly the thing, and you
just kind of push your other toys aside. You're like, no,
those toys were awesome.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
They've been with you. Stay with the regular season, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Is that kind of what I'm trying to interpret here?
Speaker 5 (18:20):
It's tough.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
We're all children when it comes to love and football,
and it's like you see the present there.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
It's like, Mom, I can tell it's obviously a bike.
You try to wrap a bikecle, I can see what
it is? Can I just open it? No?
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Speaking of Christmas Day, it's oftentimes when you see NBA games,
did you guys see this picture of Tyreek Hill meeting
a name in the NBA that you know, Victor Wembaniana.
Everybody all right, and that's Tyreek Hill?
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Mind you?
Speaker 4 (18:44):
That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
There are point.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Guards most most commonly in the NBA. Point guard sit
at like six six one six two sixty three whatever
Tyreek Hill is, according to a very popular site where
it says information is around five ten, and apparently the
other part of the information says that Victor Wembanyana is
seven three, seven four five. You cannot imagine how many
(19:06):
members are being set in my ear right now? Okay,
so it's my foot ten Tyreek Hill, seven foot three,
Victor Wabognant. What would be your favorite NFL player? NBA
player crossover for an NBA.
Speaker 6 (19:18):
Jam NBA jam Okay for those three For those kids
that don't know what NBA jam is, it's a game
where if you made three shots, the ball would be
on fire and you could jump from where it's Steph
Curry shoots threes and jump to the rafters and.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
Dunk the ball.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
So off of that topic, I got.
Speaker 6 (19:34):
Two okay, Jahn Morant and for the NFL, Miles Garrett.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
Now it's strictly.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
Dunking, Like I want an all dunk team, Okay.
Speaker 6 (19:43):
Jahn Moran is known for his dunks, he's known for
his vertical he's known for posterizing people. And I don't
know if you've ever seen Miles Garrett dunk the ball,
but the guy could do it in the in the NBA,
Like if we have that where he jumps and he's
two handing, just dunking this thing. I would want those
two guys on my team for NBA JAM. I think
it would be a dynamic duo.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
Like watch this guy does this it.
Speaker 5 (20:05):
First of all, look at the guy.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
Look at the arms, like we're a cooler drive.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
Geta like Miles Garrett. You don't want to be under there.
Speaker 6 (20:11):
That's that's just some fair.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
That's just some fair.
Speaker 6 (20:13):
So that I would love Miles Garrett and John Moran
on my NBA Jam team.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
Will who you got that looks dangerous? That's super.
Speaker 7 (20:21):
But like as you mentioned, after you make the first shot,
you make the second shot and the guy goes he's
heating up. Yeah, I need someone who's gonna knock it
down for me.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
So we're gonna we're gonna go to NBA.
Speaker 7 (20:30):
We're gonna get Steph Curry right obviously, we I want
the ball shot from wherever he's part. The ball is
gonna be on fire the game to start. And then
I want Dk Metcalf. I need a sat Bach, I
need a beast. I need He's like a Ben Wallace,
Like that's what I need. And so for me, it's
gonna be them too. Steph can shoot the ball wherever
he wants. DK is gonna find a way to get
this football, I mean, get the basketball.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
I mean, Steph, you can.
Speaker 7 (20:52):
Play football too, why not, right, go to football as well?
So yeah, right there for me, look at this boom.
That's what I'm talking about. DK Metcalf.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
He's like Big Wallace.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
My NBA Jam team We're not gonna perfect, We're not
gonna have every attribute, We're not gonna have everything going
in our favor, but we will have an identity.
Speaker 5 (21:10):
Believe you me. From the NBA. My player will be Zion.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
He's gonna be my guy, Zion, Zio and one name
only Zion.
Speaker 5 (21:19):
You know from the NFNFL.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Who I'm gonna have to pair Zion, You're kind to
go with a little, little, quick, skinny guy. No, from
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I'm gonna have Desmond Watson. I
have identity on this team. Size, power, good luck coming
into the paint, good luck coming inside.
Speaker 5 (21:35):
The three point line. You know what. Good luck crossing
half court.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
You better not because one of these guys, in a
total combined weight of three thousand pounds, is going.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
To crush you. Power and glory. We can't shoot, who cares.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
We will dunk, we will play defense, and we will
use all twelve of our combined fouls to knock you
off the court. In an NBA jam, there are no fouls,
So good luck competing with these guys, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
Not only could that pair be perfect for NBA jam,
it could also be pair for Red Rover.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Red Rover says Zion right that if you if you.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
Pair, if they elbowed up with each other, like, there's
no breaking through that wall.
Speaker 5 (22:09):
And also, watch out, Jamie.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
I thought you're gonna go to Coney Island for the
hot dog eating contest, but then Red Rover works too.
It all works, guys. We'll take on all comers.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
Oh my gosh, if he keeps going, they're gonna uncorded
audio again.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
GMFB. There it is Kyle's NBA JAM teams.
Speaker 8 (22:25):
He does.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Guys, you can't with the nets still CORECT get over here.
Speaker 5 (22:31):
You have no need. Welcome back to JMFB.
Speaker 6 (22:41):
Yesterday, we had three amazing games to start off Week
one of the preseason, but we got three more days.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
And out of those.
Speaker 6 (22:47):
Three days, I got five rookies that I think you
should watch and that I'm excited to watch, starting off
with number one. I don't know if there's anybody that's
more excited to watch this guy play than myself. Travis Hunter,
the former Colorado Buffalo Heisman Trophy winner, also known as
a Unicorns because of his ability to play both sides
of the ball. Now he's going to line up against
(23:08):
the Steelers this weekend. I want to see how's this
repcount gonna go. How much is he gonna play offense
compared to defense or is he gonna play defense more
than offense.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
We'll see.
Speaker 6 (23:17):
Now the Steelers aren't playing their starter, so unfortunately we're
not going to see him going against Jalen Ramsey and
DK Metcalf. But we'll have to wait for the season
to do that. But tune in tomorrow against the Steelers
as at Jaguars go over there in Battle number two.
Jackson Dart, Now, there was a lot of conversation after
he was drafted twenty fifth overall to the New York Giants,
(23:38):
but the Giants knew what they wanted and they went
out and got him. Now, Jackson Dart, while I owe miss,
showed an ability to throw the ball unlike any other quarterback.
But also he did demonstrate a courageous acts in his
ability to run and run people over. And they started
to ask a question, could this be Brian Dave Ball
and Joe Shane's new Josh Allen.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Well, to answer that question, it's no.
Speaker 6 (24:03):
Secret why Jackson darr is talking to Josh Allen while
they're over there in New York practicing against the Buffalo Bills.
So I'm excited to watch Jackson Dark play against the
Buffalo Bills tomorrow. Tune in to watch the number twenty
five overall pick battle against the Buffalo Bills next. When
I talk about Ohio State University and wide receivers, there's
(24:25):
a list, a long list of wide receiver. I can
go Chris o'lave, Marvin Harrison, Junior, Garrett Wilson, Scary Terry.
Speaker 5 (24:33):
But out of all of.
Speaker 6 (24:34):
Them, I mecha Igbukas has the record at Ohio State
for the most receptions in.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
School with history.
Speaker 6 (24:41):
This guy out of camp, not only his head coach,
but Baker Mayfield has said that he runs precise routes
and he's so smart in his own coverages. He knows
how to sit down, he knows where to go, where
not to go, and he's been a friendly target for
Baker Mayfield all camp. So I know that Mike Evans
isn't going to be out there for the preseason game
against the Titans, so we're not going to see that
(25:02):
full effect for the Buccaneers with defenses really paying attention
to Mike Evans out there. But I'm excited to see
imcha iguka work out of the slot for the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers. Fourth Island Boy, Local Boy TET title of
McMillan he plays for the Carolina Panthers. Now tet title
of McMillan is sixty five two hundred ten yards. While
(25:22):
at Arizona, he set a whole bunch of records there
for yards, receptions, touchdowns. But there has been questions about
his ability to separate. That was a conversation that we
had during the combine, during all of that pre draft process,
was can he separate in the NFL?
Speaker 5 (25:38):
Well, we're guess who would have to wait.
Speaker 6 (25:39):
Until he plays the Cleveland Browns tonight if he can separate.
But if he can't, that six to five frame, two
hundred and ten pounds is going to be a big
target for Bryce Young, now only during the preseason, but
throughout this season for the Carolina Panthers. Last but not least,
probably one of my favorite guys, and you guys, you
know I had to I had to end with the defense.
Will Johnson out of University of Michigan, two time All
(26:01):
American National Championship. He was the defensive MVP for that game. Now,
he did slide out of the first round because concerns
for his knee.
Speaker 5 (26:11):
But everything out of.
Speaker 6 (26:12):
Camp, all the highlights out of camp has him, has
him strapping up guys, locking guys down, being physical with
Marvin Harrison Junior. And so I'm really excited to see
him line up. If you want to watch him, watch
him this Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs. He's somebody
that I'm really excited to watch and do his thing
out there in the secondary. So those are five rookies
that I think you should be locked in in come
(26:34):
this weekend.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Well done, Mantai will make you clean up your mess
after the segment is done. All right, throwing those cards
and they're all.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Over your floor. Okay, your office space.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
There's your list, MANSI, How did you only have one
guy on defense?
Speaker 6 (26:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (26:50):
I try to pick people that I've heard a whole
bunch of stuff about.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
And a half guys.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
Excuse me, Travis, Yeah, Tramp's out of place point five five.
But I think everybody wants to see Travis. I know
a lot of conversation coming out of the draft with
Jackson Dard and the Giants selecting him, and why didn't
did he drifts draft somebody else? He mecha Guka Polly
is the guy that I heard talked about a lot,
just his ability to get open, how smart he has
this book, wuyacutes a Titlewan McMillan, just that big target.
(27:18):
And then last but not Lisa, it was will Will Johnson.
I thought that all of the clips that I saw
in training camp, I mean the guy that there's one
he just pushed down Marvin Harrison Junior. I was like,
this guy is this guy is something. He's physical, so I'm.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
Excited to see him.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
Well, listen, it's an eclected group. I like it, but
I'm you know, I'm here in New York City. There's
a feeling here of here we go. This morning's New
York Post action Jackson Jackson Dart sitting there in all
his glory on the whole cover on the back, and
it's they're starting to speak about him. There's only in
New York media. Can I'm gonna read directly from the
(27:53):
New York Post. Jackson Dart represents the symbol of hope
for Giants fans that Josh Allen represented for Bills fans,
that Eli Manning represented for Giants fans that Daniel Jones
represented for them. Jones as hard as he tried, ultimately
could not replace Eli Manning, Dable and GM Joe Shane
have staked their reputation on Jackson Dart. But first things first,
(28:16):
they know what time it is here. You do not
draft a quarterback in the first round if you are
a New York football team and not expect and demand great, great,
great things, not just being a starter. Eventually, it's like
you win a super Bowl here, this is we win
championships in New York. You can talk to anybody you want,
Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, Michael Strahan, everybody except.
Speaker 5 (28:37):
The next They never won squat.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
But I'm talking about all the other guys understand, and
there's an understanding of Jackson Dart that like, dude, you
are here to win a super Bowl, not just a
game against the Eagles someday or the job. It's a
long way off, and it starts though.
Speaker 5 (28:56):
This weekend, like he will be out there.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
He will be playing in high Mark Stadium against the
Bills with Josh Allen in the crowd, and however he
plays will be dissected with.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
The fire finess them scalpels.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
And that's the lot in life for Jackson Dart, right,
now it starts this weekend.
Speaker 4 (29:09):
Yeah, this is a fundless man time.
Speaker 7 (29:10):
But righton, I can't I can't get out of when
you mentioned Travis Hunter and you talk about the Steelers
and at one point you have to go against Jalen Ramsey,
they go to the other side and defend DK Metcalf.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
That sounds exhausting.
Speaker 7 (29:25):
That just I just can't mentionally get over that's crazy,
that that would be a long day.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
Think it's a good exercise, Like you have to really
put the example with intention and like understand the physicality
that what you're asking of him with the Jags are
asking of him, how intense it's going to get.
Speaker 5 (29:40):
Well, that's why I mentioned it.
Speaker 6 (29:41):
It's just like, this is that situation, like if this
was the game, if this was the season, you would
have to line up on offense, go against Jalen Ramsey
or or slay and then you would have to go
and guard DK Metcalf. Like that's not that's not an
easy day at the job. So that's that's that's the
conversation that we're having. So unfortunately we're gonna have to
wait to the season, but we're gonna get a little
(30:03):
taste a week one again.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Steelers, Listen, it's your top five players that you are
watching this weekend. And I understand why you didn't put
Shadoor Sanders on it, one of which is because we're
going to talk about him in a couple of minutes.
But also I think you could just make a top
five list of things that we're watching about Shadoor Sanders,
Like the thing that is going to go down tonight
for the Cleveland Browns against the Panthers is so big
(30:25):
in terms of commentary and media and what the loaded
name means for that young player. But the Chador Sanders
experience will be on tonight on NFL Network, but it
is to pay attention to those other rookies and the
impact that they will have just to set the tone
for their own career.
Speaker 6 (30:39):
I assume, yeah, no, that's it. That's it, Chadure. I
didn't want to give any more light on that. It's like,
you know, and even in defense of Chador, I don't
even think he wants that. So I was like, instead
of putting Shador shaduur Shardur, let me talk about other
guys that we may not be talking about. I know,
we talked about Travis Hunter, a lot, but Will Johnson
I wanted to bring to light. We talked title at McMillan.
(31:00):
Those are some guys.
Speaker 7 (31:01):
Now.
Speaker 6 (31:02):
I did think about Cam Skataboo, but I I left
that from my boy KB.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Sometimes it's just it's like the sun, you know, It's
like it just exists.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
You know what's happening. It's really there, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Is Cam Scataboo going to get the back of the
New York Post Treatment any day?
Speaker 7 (31:15):
Now?
Speaker 1 (31:16):
No, you shouldn't get the front. He's gonna get the
front of the USA Today. Never mind, we still do that.
You stay in some hotel and they put the USA
Today under your door, it is going to be Cam Scattaboo.
The real sad thing is I was supposed to finally
meet Cam last week, and I was going to go
to Giants Camp last Friday. Giants Camp should be called
Giants Camp. Last Friday it got rained out. I wasn't
able to go. I feel like Jamie. It was like
(31:36):
this like a sliding doors romantic comedy moment where we
got on the wrong train and weren't able to meet
each other. I was devastated, but it just it just
prolongs the inevitable.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
Yeah, exactly, and Cam when he finally rolls up, it's
like you feel like you know everything about them all ready,
or do you have one time? Kyle on the show,
you asked me, did I have questions ready if I
ever met Taylor Swift? Do you have your questions ready
for when you meet Camp Scataboo.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Nope, that's going to be an ad lib interview from
the hip. No cards, no teleprompter, no pre productive We
just gonna talk and someday it will happen, maybe when
he's the league's leading rusher this year.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Usually you say, just talk when it comes to like
week eleven, twelve thirteen in the NFL season, Kyle, Now
he's going to just talk when it comes to Camp Scataboo.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
All right. That was GMFB MANTI good List
