Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good Morning Football.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
That's right, this is Good Morning Football. We are brought
to you by Old Trapper Beef Jerky. We are live
in both LA and New York. It's Friday, December thirteenth. Oh,
Friday the thirteenth. This is Awkwar Bash Bia Milla, Peter Schrager,
Kyle Brant Mantiteo, and I'm Jamie Ertalk.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Guys.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
We've got a lot of business to get to this hour,
so let's get right to it. Before we have Viking
c J. Hammond, before we play Streger's Trivia. Kyle, we
got to hear the highlight. How many field goals will
we see from Thursday Night Football.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
It's a great question. So in long time here Peter
and I have led the league in complaining about field
goals being included the highlight packages. We only have so
many plays to show the people. Please keep the field
go out. We've asked, we've begged for it. So last time,
I'm just gonna blow it. Peter put you on the spot.
It was a twelve to six game. How many field
goals do you think we will show in this package.
What is your number, We'll get into it. I think
we get all six, You think we get all of them.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Let's go to Josh Cardi package, show it.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Here we go, we block. It's usually pretty good at
predicting things, but here we go. All right. Matthew Stafford
is really good as being the Rams quarterback in December,
he's ten and one. Rock Perty they lost to the
Rams earlier this season. But this is incredible. I am
so proud of our producers and editors because guess what,
that's the last play the game. It's over single the game, Peter.
(01:35):
We actually out of the place where we're not showing.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Enough field goals.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Incredible. McVeigh gets to win twelve six. It's the first
game this season without a touchdown score of all the
games played, the Rams are eight and six, the Niners
are six and eight. There's big time drama in their
locker room and on their sign that we're going to
talk about. First though, let's hear from Matthew Stafford and
winning Rams head coach Sean McVay. Get out of the
(02:00):
Rams way. You want seven of nine? Now? What is it? Team?
Go from here?
Speaker 5 (02:05):
We got to find a way to get better obviously,
you know it wasn't great today, but we're finding ways
to win football games, whether it's you know, scoring forty
four last week in a shootout, are leaning on our
defense in the run game this week in the rain,
and find a way to win.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
That's what it's all about.
Speaker 6 (02:17):
In December, we challenge our guys a few weeks back
to really say, hey, no matter what happens, let's make
sure there's no regrets. After the Philly game, Hey, there's
X amount of days left that we're guaranteed, there's X
amount of games, X amount of practices. Let's make sure
that we bring everything that we've got every single day
and when we look back on this, no matter what happens,
there's no regrets. And I think our guys have done
that since then.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yeah, the irony that the Rams dropped forty four on
Buffalo and San Francisco thirty eight on the Bears to
be gifted Ay twelve to six game on Thursday Night Football,
here we go.
Speaker 7 (02:45):
This is the NFL in December.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Rams have now won seven of nine as the forty
nine ers continue a free fall. Peter, your takeaway must
rely on the backyard here in La on the Rams.
Speaker 8 (02:55):
Yeah, look that was pouring rain, terrible conditions, and a
win is a win. That is their third win in
eleven days. They beat the Saints in New Orleans, came back,
beat the Bills in that shootout, and then had to
go on the road in the rain and beat the
forty nine ers. And they're getting it contributions when they
need it from the most unlikely of people, you know,
the main one. Let's see, the biggest play of the
game is the fifty one yard pass nakula Literally, up
(03:17):
until this point in the fourth quarter, Matthew Savad had
done absolutely nothing on offense and McVeigh just punt punt, punt,
field goal, field goal, punt, punt punt. Nicole gets open
to get your fifty one yarder. But with the game
on the line, after our timeout, they go empty set
on a third and four, and who.
Speaker 7 (03:33):
Are we gonna go to.
Speaker 8 (03:34):
We've got Nakulah, We've got Cup, We've got Kyen Williams.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Here's the biggest play of the.
Speaker 8 (03:38):
Game, guys, it's to Kobe Parkinson. Kobe Parkinson on third
and four converts. It moves the chains, bleeds the clock,
and it's like, this is not the first time in
five days that they had to rely on someone unlikely.
I go back to the biggest game of that Bills win.
It's fourth and five season on the line, and it's
(03:59):
not Nikula, it's not Kiren, it's two to two at Well.
This is like the McVeigh masterpiece in that it's ugly
as hell.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
It's not the way we want it. Yet every man.
Speaker 8 (04:12):
On the roster, all fifty three has to be ready
to go when we call your number. Biggest game of
the season. This is the first time McVeigh has swept
Kyle Shanahan. I mean, this is a huge win for
them because now they control their own destiny. The path
for the Rams to the playoffs is rather easy right now.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
It's winning at the.
Speaker 8 (04:31):
Jets next week, and then you have to win at
home against the Cardinals and at home against the Seahawks
team that you've already beaten. If you take care of
business in those three games, you are going to the playoffs.
And all those nightmares from the Eagles game and the
Bear's loss, and of course that Dolphins Monday Night or
that happened less than two months ago, they're all forgotten
because you're in the dance everyone stepped up when they
(04:52):
needed to. The defense obviously led the way, but Kobe
Parkinson was the hero in their Week fifteen win.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
That's just how it's got to be.
Speaker 9 (05:00):
That's how it has to be. You're right, and Peter,
they took care of business. We didn't see the offense
side that we wanted to see, the production that we
wanted to see. We just saw a lot of field goals.
But the one thing that stood out to me was
the way they played defense, especially in that secondary group.
That secondary group was all over the place, and they
were in tight covers and they pinned up these wide receivers.
(05:21):
I mean to a place to where you start looking.
I started noticing a trend. Here you see right here,
you see Quintin Lake. Here, this was a game where
you had the dbs had almost as many pass breakups
as the forty nine ers had receptions.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Where do you see that? As I just kept.
Speaker 9 (05:38):
Seeing past breakup after pass breakup. So I just want
to give a shout out to the secondary group. Witherspoon,
Quentin Lake, cam Crow Williams. All of those dudes were
breaking up passes like it was just like it was nothing.
The entire group for the San Francisco forty nine ers,
fourteen receptions, pass breakups for the RAMS nine like what
like that was impressive and that all had to do
(05:59):
too with the production up front, and we saw Kobe
Turner just turn out and turn up for the Rams.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
I like that. We're in some of these names that
were mentioned in the opening segment, and there should be
one name that we mentioned as Sean McVeigh. I see
this all last night. This morning, a lot of people
are come around. Wow, McVeigh is putting a hell of
a season together. McVeigh really is a great coach. How
many times have I said it's the best coach in
the league, the best coach in the league. You can
win a game one week with forty four points, you
can win a game the next week with twelve points.
(06:28):
I know why the Lions are what they are. They
are loaded and they have thoroughbreds everywhere. I know why
the Eagles are what they are, Sam exact deal. This
was a two and four team that was laughed at
and disregarded, just like they were last year when they
also made the playoffs. The best coach in the league
can get his team to keep fighting in this rainy
crappy game and a short week against on the road.
(06:50):
The best coach in the league can have his team
going against the best player in the league who is
having the best game of his career last week and
say no, let's still be I know, our defense getting
the crap kicked out of him. Let's make a goal
line stand when Josh Allen tries to make a quarterback sneak.
This guy has them playing, he has them ready. They
are my, holy crap super Bowl team. What does that mean?
The team that we look in New Orleans and February
(07:11):
be like, holy crap, the Rams are in the Super Bowl.
That's not a prediction. That is the sense that like,
if I had to throw in with one team that
is a snake in the grass, that is not in
the head, that's not even gonna maybe necessarily want a
playoff game. In some people's mind, I will throw in
with the Rams. They're gonna go to the playoffs. I
will not be shocked if they're in the Super Bowl. Guys,
they're that good and they have the best coach in football.
(07:32):
I said it again. Welcome aboard everyone.
Speaker 8 (07:34):
Do you have a comment for Kobe Turner, the conductor
who played his brain.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Out on Sideline. I know Kobe Turner mostly from his
contributions to The Masked Singer. Then he should be hosting
that show next and maybe he'll do it after the
Super Bowl. I love Kobe Turner and man Titao, I
know you love that defense too.
Speaker 10 (07:50):
I love that defense. I'm gonna talk a little bit
about something and I want everybody to follow me a
little bit I want to give. I want to get
my boy KB some props.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
KB. I took your recommendation. Man On.
Speaker 10 (08:00):
I watched that movie I Believe Missana. Last night I did,
Oh my gosh, ninety minutes. I had a ninety minute
plane ride. The movie was ninety minutes. It's like perfect.
I'm gonna watch this movie and let me tell you something.
If anybody hasn't seen that movie. There the main character,
his name is Tom. He's a lawyer by trade, but
he's got this unshakeable belief in Santa Claus right, and
it's so unshakeable that he has so much passion and
(08:23):
so much enthusiasm and energy for Christmas.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Well, he meets this girl. Her name is Lisa.
Speaker 10 (08:28):
Lisa is the total opposite of Tom. She doesn't like Christmas.
She doesn't believe in Santa Claus and from nine years old.
If you watch the movie, you'll understand why. Well, because
of Tom's enthusiasm and his energy and his passion and
his belief.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Throughout the movie, Lisa starts to believe a little bit.
Speaker 10 (08:45):
She starts to feel that vibe from Tom, and she
starts to look at Christmas as there's some beauty. There's
some beauty to this holiday, to this Christmas season, the
Christmas magic they like to call it in the movie. Well,
last night, I compare Tom to Drake Greenlaw. If you
watch that first half of the San Francisco forty nine
(09:05):
ers defense, the energy that they played with, that enthusiasm,
that belief, it's almost like this team that's been through
so much through the year, so many injuries, so many
personal losses, all of a sudden, fifty seven gets in
there and.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
He's all over the field.
Speaker 10 (09:22):
Not only does he finish the first half, guys, he
didn't play the second half.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
He finished the first half with eight tackles.
Speaker 10 (09:28):
But you could see how Fred Warner was playing, You
could see how Tolanov Wapungo was playing. You could see
the clumps, the clamps, that Leonora had the first half,
But then the second half comes along and you're like, well,
I start to think about the movie again, and I
start to think about when Tom's friend Assan calls Tom,
because Tom every day in December, Tom has an activity
(09:50):
every single day, and Assan calls him and say, hey,
aren't you supposed.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
To be going to this thing? And Tom says, n
ain't going.
Speaker 10 (09:58):
It's almost like the team from the first half called
the team from the second half is say, hey, are
we supposed to be going to the playoff? Don't we
have a shot? Are we supposed to be playing that way?
And Devondre Campbell literally said, nah, we ain't going. Matter
of fact, I ain't even going in the game. So
it was so good to see Drake.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Greenlaw in that game.
Speaker 10 (10:16):
I know everybody loved to see it. It was such
a great first half by that defense. But then the
second half comes along and it's just a different story.
So shout out to my boy KB for that recommendation
on the movie. My only regret is I watched it
on the plane. I didn't watch it with my wife
and kids. Shout out to Tom for that Christmas feel,
and shout out to Drake Greenlaw for coming out there
(10:37):
in balland because it was good to see him back.
So I believe Missano all right to.
Speaker 7 (10:42):
Pick up where Manti just left off.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Kyle, I know you have takes, but we have to
hear from the forty nine ers after the game. The
situation in which Manti references is the fact that linebackers
gritting hurt.
Speaker 7 (10:52):
Left and right.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Devandre Campbell, linebacker of the nine Ers, was asked to
go in the third quarter and refuse to enter the game.
Proceeded to walk to the locker room, and it was
disclosed then that he would not participate in this game.
Here's Kyle Shanahan and George Kittle, leaders of the team,
what they had to say about it.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Does that ever happened to you where a player said
they didn't want to play a game?
Speaker 9 (11:11):
No, he got demoted for this game, right, he was
not going to play.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
No, he was gonna go in. When Drake came out.
Speaker 11 (11:20):
With devdre opted to not going to the game.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
What do you need to do to ensure that you
don't lose the rest of the locker room.
Speaker 12 (11:26):
I haven't lost anybody.
Speaker 7 (11:27):
That's somebody who doesn't want to play football.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
That's pretty simple.
Speaker 12 (11:31):
I mean, I think our team and myself we know
how we feel about that, So I don't think we
need to talk about him anymore.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
I don't like distractions on the sideline.
Speaker 6 (11:38):
I think that's ignorant and I think it's just dumb.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
It's just stupid and it's very immature.
Speaker 9 (11:45):
Wow wow, I mean that that right there, this walk off,
that's the walk off of shame.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Shame, shame, shame, and they.
Speaker 9 (11:53):
Should be because this was an unprofessional decision to make
in the middle of the game. I get it that
your feelings were hurt that you weren't able to be
the starter because Greenwalt came back. But here's my issue
with this. You knew all week green Law was coming back.
This wasn't a surprise. He didn't come out of the
tunnel out of nowhere and just shocked you because you
thought you were going to be the starter.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Like I've been in this.
Speaker 9 (12:15):
Situation before, you have to suck up your ego. You
have to put it to the side and you play
for the team. Like I look at this and I go, man,
you had a critical moment, at critical opportunity to show
the team you know what You're gonna have to make
a decision between Greenlaw and I. Right, But no, Devon
Campbell goes out there and says, you know what, I
am more important than the team. I'm gonna sit there
(12:36):
and I'm gonna quit. I'm gonna walk off.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Man.
Speaker 9 (12:38):
I hope they do him in the worst way because
to me, like he should be out of it. In fact,
they shouldn't even let him, like even get back into
the locker room, just like you know what your stuff
is outside, you can walk to the facility, find your
own ride. Because that right there was disrespectful to the team.
You don't do that, especially for a nine year veteran
that you signed to a one year contract five million dollars.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
You're a former All pro All pros.
Speaker 9 (12:58):
Don't act like this. I think that that was his
retirement walk off right there.
Speaker 10 (13:02):
Yeah, of course said that he knew what it was
before the game, So you knew what it was when
you signed, You knew the end. And Al Michael said
it on the broadcast last night when he quoted Kyle Shanahan.
He said, Kyle Shanahan said that Drake Greenlaw, that is
his defense.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
He's the guy. That's what he said, Kyle.
Speaker 10 (13:18):
Shanahan said that, so you knew what it was when
you came over and signed with the forty nine ers.
You knew that Drake Greenlaw was going to come back
at some point, and that you knew when he did
come back that now your time was over. So I
was a little shocked by that, you know, like how
awkward said. It's a veteran that's played a lot of football,
and he's played a lot of good football. But for
him to kind of do that, I thought that was
a little shocking to me.
Speaker 8 (13:38):
Added to the list, this is a team that has
suffered through a player getting shot in August, a holdout
that was all summer with a wide receiver. There have
been real tragedies involving children with players on this team.
There's been insane injuries. It has been a year from
hell for the forty nine ers. And this is just
a footnote and a long list of just things that
(13:59):
Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch could have never anticipated before
the season started.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
It's also not just some Week four game they're playing out.
They're clinging to everything in the season. In a tight game,
we need you out there, We need to make a
stop I don't want into the game you leave. I
would just say I need to hear from Demander Campbell.
This is too strange, this is too bizarre. This is
not a new guy in the league. He's been around,
had a lot of coaches, had a lot of teammates.
(14:23):
You need to speak. You need to because e'rep getting
absolutely flambeyed right now about what this happened by teammates,
by everybody. George Kittle afterwards is trying to be the
consummate teammate and is really saying charge things were totally justified.
There has to be at least some Instagram story or
something this morning to explain yourself, because if there is
no excuse then it is incredibly pathetic. But until then
(14:44):
we have to hear what he has to say.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
At least Yeah, those who are speaking about the situation
and on behalf of Devandri Campbell. Right now, the visual
of him walking off the field, it doesn't look good,
it doesn't look right. And we wait to hear from
Campbell out of the forty nine ers locker room. I
would assume at some point today until then we turned
Ian Rapaport.
Speaker 7 (15:00):
But will have news about a couple wide receivers in
the league. But let's start with the ke.
Speaker 13 (15:05):
The Chiefs are getting a big time boost to their offense.
Source to say Hollywood Brown, who has been out since
training camp, had sc joint surgery on his shoulder after
rehabsimply did.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
Not work as well as they wanted.
Speaker 13 (15:18):
He has officially been clear to practicement yesterday in Colorado
meeting with his surgeon.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
This is excellent news.
Speaker 13 (15:25):
His practice window could actually open as early as today.
The Chiefs expect him to play before the regular season
is over it of course, this would be his Chief's
debut and then certainly in the playoffs. That helps for
Kansas City. Meanwhile, for the Chargers, Justin Herbert once again
on the injury report actually didn't practice on Wednesday, did
(15:45):
practice Thursday. Good sign for his availability. Deal with a
little bit of an ankle sprain and a thigh in drink. Basically,
Charlie Horse seems like he is going to be able
to battle his way onto the field on Sunday and
then for the Miami Dolphins. O'Dell Beckham Junior and the
Dolphins are mutually parting ways. According to Tom Pelsera, He's
(16:05):
got nine catches fifty five yards on the season. Tippy
was not working out, so he now heads to waivers.
Speaker 7 (16:12):
All right, rap, she appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
There's a lot of takes on where Odell Beuckham Junior
might be signed for a playoff run with certain teams.
Speaker 7 (16:19):
I'm sure you'll let us know when it changes. Let's go.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
We are less than two weeks away from Christmas.
Speaker 7 (16:24):
Look at that.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Look at all those things.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
Everybody that you know, I spy Jamie.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Yeah and Mansie Yeah. Game Day Netflix, It's a doubleheader
two weeks, less than two weeks from now. It's a
celebration of football and family. Up first one pm Eastern
Chiefs in Pittsburgh taking on the Steelers. Then four thirty
Eastern Texans hosts the Ravens.
Speaker 7 (16:43):
It's a Christmas Day doubleheader.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
Some of the show you'll see coming from LA in
Pittsburgh and Houston.
Speaker 7 (16:49):
It'll be an awesome day. We can't wait. Coming up though, week.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
Fifteen edition of Shraker's Trivia. You do not know the
work that we went through to make room for this.
On our show, Shraker, We'll defend Trivia with our honor.
Speaker 8 (17:02):
Why are we showing the miracle in the out lands?
Oh my gosh, someone in these hell Marris Billy White shoes.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
LT guys, we're going back. There's Drake green Law pick
stop on the goal one.
Speaker 8 (17:12):
Randall Cunningham. It's trivia time. We go back to the
NFL Films archives. We're watch this stuff all day long.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Do your thing, RCI. That looks like I did say
that AstroTurf in those barrassings. I think of Walter Payton.
And speaking of Walter Peyton, he has a Man of
the Year award named after him. One of the nominees
from the Minnesota Vikings who just win every single week. C. J.
Hamm joins us and not to mention, I'm not making
this up, Jesse. The body Ventura is coming on the
SO studio later. It is not nich dope school GMFB
(17:41):
on a Friday. We got no time to bleed. Good
morning football.
Speaker 7 (17:54):
We love our next guest.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
He was an undrafted free agent in twenty sixteen out
of Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Now he's
currently in his ninth NFL season. He's a two time
Pro bowler and now a Walter Peyton manad the yer
nominee for the Minnesota Vikings.
Speaker 7 (18:11):
It's c J. Ham. What up? CJ?
Speaker 2 (18:13):
What up? CJ? What's gobet? What's going on?
Speaker 8 (18:16):
Y'all?
Speaker 7 (18:17):
Good to see you, CJ.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Like I just said, ninth year with the Vikings, you
go back to that young man who graduated from Denfield
High School in Duluth, Minnesota. Now you're a Walter Peyton
Man of the Year nominee. What would you say to
that young c J. Ham and the pathway that you've
taken to be sitting in this room, on this team
talking about your career.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Yeah, you give an all the shoutouts this morning. I
appreciate it.
Speaker 14 (18:40):
I'd really just tell tell my old self just to
trust the process. There's so many things that you cannot
control in life. But what you can control is you
know how you approach life, how you care for others,
how you go about your work. Those are the things
you can control, and when you do that, things go
your way.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
So I've truly truly been blessed.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
CJ.
Speaker 8 (19:01):
Seen Case Keenum and Sam Bradford and Kirk Cousins, and
there are probably many many more who have been through
that quarterbacks room that you have been blocking for this guy,
Sam Darnold walks in back on March eleventh, and he
showed up. What is your impression then? What is your
impression now? And do you really think this guy's got
what it takes to take you guys to the promised land?
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Oh?
Speaker 14 (19:21):
Man, Sammy D is the Sami D is the man
obviously coming into the coming into the uh you know,
the year, you know, being being being a free agent guy.
You know, obviously not knowing exactly what was going on
with how everything's.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Going to shake out. You knew he was a baller though.
Speaker 14 (19:35):
You knew he was someone who's ready to come in
and compete, and uh, you know, he showed that right away.
You know, from from the first day OTAs all the
way through our training camp, we all knew that this
guy was the real deal and he's been able to
go out there to show it every single week. Man,
it's been It's been awesome, CJ.
Speaker 10 (19:51):
You know when I played, obviously the season is a
long season, but there were certain weeks like when we
played the Steelers and there was Le'Veon Bell and there
was Pouncy di Castro Foster where you played Seattle and
there's Marshall Lynch, the Vikings and Adrian Peters I knew
in that prep that it was going to be one
of those physical weeks. As a fullback, Is there a
linebacker or a defense that you know going into the
(20:13):
week that it's going to be one of those old
school physical games?
Speaker 14 (20:16):
Would I would say every single NFC North opponent we play,
those just have a different Those just have a different
tilt to it. You know, go to go it against
our division. We know, those games just means so much.
You know, no matter the record, no matter what you're
playing for, those games are always going to be tough.
So this week, this game we got coming up against Chicago,
it's one of those games that I know is going
to be tough. You got guys are gonna come out
(20:37):
and you know, put the best foot forward and those
linebackers are going to be coming downhill and CJ.
Speaker 9 (20:41):
And with that, you know, you guys get the win
against the Bears on Monday night, that means your team,
you and your teammates, you guys will clinch the playoff.
Playoff birth, there weren't a lot of expectations in Minnesota
this season. What will it mean to the locker room
to make it to the postseason after all the doubt
off to all the haters.
Speaker 14 (21:00):
Yeah, you know, it's it's tough. It's tough to win
games in this league. All y'all know that, and you know,
to obviously clinch a playoff birth will be an accomplishment.
But I think it's not a surprise to any of us.
You know, we've been going out all OTA's all training
camp just knowing that we need a state of course,
we need to trust on ourselves and we know the
team that we have, So the doubters, the people giving
(21:23):
us praise, like you know, it is what it is.
At the end of the day. We know what we
got in this locker room. We know the coaching staff,
we got the players you've got, So that's what we
focus on.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
And it's just one game at a time, one game
at a time for you guys. We're already looking forward
to Vikings Lions week eighteen before the playoffs, and we'll
get to that CJ. In the meantime. There's this beautiful
phrase you've invented, Pamper her Purple. Pamper her Purple is
the event that you started in honor of your late mother.
And because of that event and all the other things
you do charitably across the community. You are the Vikings
(21:54):
nominee for the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year.
I know you do a lot, and I know you
don't do it to make it about yourself, but take
a minute. What are you most proud of in all
this work that you've done.
Speaker 14 (22:04):
Man, I'm proud of just the impact that my family,
my wife and I have been able to have on
just a variety of a variety of people. And you know,
I think most importantly just the impact that they've had
on our lives. Like the Pamper Her Purple event is
an event that we bring women who have battling or
have survived cancer.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
You know, we try to.
Speaker 14 (22:24):
Give them a great day, but they end up giving
us a great day.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
And you know, just doing things with the boys and
Girls clubs.
Speaker 14 (22:30):
Although all these different things have such a great impact
on our family, on my kids, it's truly truly a blessing,
and you know, I just I wouldn't change it for
the world.
Speaker 7 (22:40):
You know, well, CJ.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
I can imagine your mom Tina is very proud of
you with everything that you've done, and your family is,
but specifically the state of Minnesota, the fact that you
are from there, and you wear that purple every Sunday,
but this week on Monday night. Congratulations against CJ being
on this team. Everything you've done as the Vikings NFL
Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee. The of course,
the award winner will be announced at NFL Honors super
Bowl Week in New Orleans. CJ seeing a little stay
(23:04):
healthy man.
Speaker 8 (23:06):
All right to this trivia time on Friday morning, one
of my favorite slates of the NFL season.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
Some great matchups. You've got Lions.
Speaker 8 (23:15):
Bills, We've got Eagles, Steelers, we've got Seahawks Packers.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
We're gonna use those.
Speaker 8 (23:19):
Matchups as the crux for our trivia today. Everyone's gonna
get a shot that. We're going to do a big
video clue and you at home, we want you to
play as well. Scream at the TV.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
It's Friday, all right.
Speaker 8 (23:29):
After it colts Broncos in a huge AFC game, the
winner might be headed to the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
Look at the lighting. We are going series.
Speaker 7 (23:37):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
Akbar, You're up first? Are you ready?
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Uh? Yes, I am now okay.
Speaker 8 (23:43):
Peyton Manning made his long awaited return to Indianapolis in
twenty thirteen as a member of the Denver Broncos. This
was one of those where you remember where you were.
He was so humble, came in, waved his hand a
few times. Colts would actually get the best of Peyton
in this one, which pass rushing legend had a strip
(24:04):
sound for a safety of Peyton Manning in the second
quarter of Manning's return to Indianapolis.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
Was it a TOWHIGHTE. Freeny, B. Robert Mathis, C.
Speaker 8 (24:15):
Chad Bratski or d the Rutgers legend Gary Brackett.
Speaker 9 (24:20):
Oh boy, I do remember that game, especially the head
bob from from Peyton Manning.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
I remember that.
Speaker 9 (24:29):
Oh boy, well, I don't know that white Freeny seems
like the name to go with with that year. Remember
Mathis had a monster year that year old on twenty thirteen.
I know if Freeny was there, I'm gonna go b here,
I'm gonna go with Robert Mathis on this one.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (24:51):
Of course this was the game of the week, and
of course we got the broadcast call let's go for
the answer to the actual game broadcast how it was
seen to millions nationwide.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Stepping away loses the ball and the ball will stay
in the end zone. The culture there, Chaffers is checking.
You got.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
Robert mathis the master.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Of the sack bubble.
Speaker 15 (25:16):
They're gonna call it a safety, saying that it was
recovering out of bounds.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Okay, mine, now, hawk Bar, Let's go go.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Stay hot, Stay hot, Come on.
Speaker 7 (25:28):
Jamiys, I love it.
Speaker 8 (25:28):
Well done, damon, Jamie Eard. All the spotlight is now
on you.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
All right.
Speaker 8 (25:33):
We have so many amazing Packers Seahawks memories. We've got
an awesome Seahawks Packers game. There's been some great running
backs between these two franchises over the years. All time,
Packers lead the Seahawks fifteen to nine and wins when
they play each other, including the playoffs. Which NFL running
(25:54):
back has the most rushing yards including the playoffs in
the Seahawks Packers series? Is it a i'm on Green
who for both teams?
Speaker 4 (26:06):
B Marshawn Lynch. Is it c our friend Aaron Jones?
Speaker 8 (26:11):
Or is it d former League MVP Sean Alexander Well.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
Pierre, Isn't it like a trick answer?
Speaker 7 (26:17):
I'm on Green played for both.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
I would think he would have compiled the most in
the in the series. But then I also feel like
you're baiting me with Amon Green. I feel like you're
baiting me by telling me that the Packers lead the
all time series. I love Aaron Jones, but just for fun,
I'm gonna say b Marshaun Lynch, Sean Lynch.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
We love Marshall.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
I hope we get some Marshaw footage right now, me too.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
Sorry, it's incorrect. What the correct answer is, Shawn Alexander?
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Oh, do we have a graphic yards?
Speaker 4 (26:48):
Not only do we have a graphic?
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Wow, there we go.
Speaker 8 (26:51):
That's what I'm talking about, aj Hawk pushing them out there. Sorry,
of course we've got the old s d footage, Alexander.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
When these two teams played, had just nine.
Speaker 8 (27:01):
More yards than Marsha also under the four one.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
It was a good guest, Jamie Ryan Green.
Speaker 8 (27:06):
I love Ryan Grant, notre dame, great player about russ
as number four and then a'man Green did it for
the Packers, and of course played.
Speaker 9 (27:13):
For the Seahawks rush just to be running man.
Speaker 8 (27:17):
Great stuff there, Jamie man titeo.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Are you ready a right man, let's go. I'm ready
all right.
Speaker 8 (27:22):
If the Packers and Seahawks have this legendary rivalry, the
Bills and the Lions simply do not. They don't play
that often. They've both been dreadful for the last twenty
years or the first twenty years of the twenty twenties,
the two thousands. However, in twenty ten, there was a
really fun game. The winless Bills played the two win
(27:43):
Lions in Week ten.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Awesome.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
The Bills went.
Speaker 8 (27:46):
Fourteen to two in this game, fourteen to twelve in
this which Bill's running back ran for one hundred and
thirty three yards and scored two touchdowns. In twenty ten
in their first win of the season over the Detroit
Lionsay Fred Jackson from Coke College.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
Was it b CJ.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
Spiller?
Speaker 8 (28:08):
Was it Clashawn Shady McCoy, or was it d for Raccain?
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Willis mcgahey.
Speaker 10 (28:17):
Well, Pete, we're gonna go process of elimination here.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
C J. Spiller, I believe could be.
Speaker 10 (28:24):
Wrong, but I think you're still at Clemson at that time.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
The Shawn, I'm not.
Speaker 10 (28:29):
Sure if he was in Buffalo. He may have been
still in Philly. And Willis mcgahey remember him as a Raven.
I don't remember him as a Buffalo Bill. The only
one on that list that I know was with the
Buffalo Bills for sure for a long time was Fred Jackson.
And because of that, I'm gonna go a Fred Jackson smart.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
All right, it's a good guess.
Speaker 8 (28:52):
The correct answer is Fred Jackson.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
Manti. Let's go Manti. Let's look at the game. Thank you, producers.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
I wanted this game footage.
Speaker 8 (29:02):
Fred Jackson just carrying the Bills out of back winless team.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
Follow me, folks, tremendous twenty ten foot a year.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
This is Fred.
Speaker 8 (29:11):
Jackson when he was just dominating games. And your fantasy
team for terrible Bills teams Bill's teams that had.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
No no business.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Or Fitzpatrick.
Speaker 8 (29:18):
Ryan Fitzpatrick was the quarterback. The quarterback for the Lions
that day was Sean Hill. Sure, look at this little
shovel pass, a two handed shovel pass, and then Freddy
Jackson makes enough moves on the sideline. Yeah, the end zone.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
They would win this game.
Speaker 8 (29:32):
Now, Shawn Hill would lead the Lions all the way
back and then on a two point conversion throw it out.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
Of the end zone.
Speaker 8 (29:37):
The Bills won fourteen to twelve, the first win of
the season. And now these two teams are playing as
two of the best teams in all of football. We
have to go back to appreciate what was going on
fourteen years ago, to appreciate how big this game is
this weekend.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Believe in your dreams, guys. It's it turn your team around.
Speaker 8 (29:53):
Bill's Lyons Marquee matchup this weekend, All right, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
I am yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
So the Eagles and the.
Speaker 8 (29:59):
Steelers played in November of two thousand and the Donovan
McNab led Eagles beat the Cordell stewart led Steelers twenty
six to twenty three in overtime. It's an awesome game
between two of the icon quarterbacks of that era. It
was back and forth and Donovan was hitting his guys
and mid Cordella was getting of his and he goes
(30:21):
twenty six to twenty three.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Is an absolute shootout. On Fox.
Speaker 8 (30:25):
We love seeing the old footage and of course Jerome
bettis run and bumbling and stumbling into the end zone.
And on the other end you had Correll buck Alter,
and of course is that Joey Porter. It sure is
awesome footage seeing these two teams go at it.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
This is great, Kyle. Never mind the question from that, No, No,
I want to watch it.
Speaker 8 (30:43):
I'm like real buck Alter from I God Nebraska Brian
Mitchell Kyle. That game took place on November twelfth, two thousand.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
Okay, this is great. This is the last year I
played football, November two thousand, my last fine football season.
Eagles won that day.
Speaker 8 (31:00):
Which song was the number one song on the billboard
one hundredred?
Speaker 2 (31:03):
All right, come we come on?
Speaker 8 (31:05):
Was it Shape of My Heart? Was it Country Grammar
by Nelly? Was it with Arms Wide Open by Scott
Stapp in Creed? Or was it Crazy for This Girl
by Evan and Jared?
Speaker 2 (31:21):
I mess, you know, you know, I messed with Evan
and Jared. Let's do guys, every girl in campus like Devan,
Jaron and half the guys. I mean amazing, that's amazing. Yea,
all right, I said it is my last football season.
I remember coming out on the field and it was
the song was more money, more Problems. I don't think
Peter has the Bulks put that song up there. Okay,
(31:41):
that's the grammar. Massive Arms Wide Opened by Creed was
a massive, massive hit that kind of changed the band's
whole reputation. They've only just started recovering from it the
last few years. All Right, So my brain says it's
shape of my heart because Backsweaker is running the game.
Then I think that's after they dropped the Black and
Blue album. That's like, but my heart. Actually, I gotta
(32:04):
go with Evan and Jared. I can't see Evan and
Jared up there, not saying if I'm wrong. I feel
fine about that because those guys had this. Go back
and listen to Crazy for the Google Craziness. This one
little acoustic pop jam by these two dream boats. It's awesome.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
Two guys look like Kyle and me. They're singing there
and they're twenty years younger.
Speaker 8 (32:22):
They're singing in the camera and just talking about this girl.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
Then, Peter, we used to do this thingment called Wall Streeters.
Can we haven't Evan and Jared now and we play
guitar emo?
Speaker 8 (32:31):
Yeah, that's what it is. It's not Evan and Jared there.
There were forty four on the list. I threw them
on there, forty four. Number one that week was Creed
with Turnout You're Not Rude? That's the number one, or
too it was the Arms Wide Open. I just heard
the news today. It sees my life is gonna change that.
You know that song's about It's about Scott staff having.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
A first child. That right, Yes, he gets the news
and tears of joy of streaming down his face. He's
got arms right open for the child, believe them. Yeah,
that's just got a little yellow leather jacket on top
of a mountain, just with his knee up and just
singing about him having a baby. It's a beautiful song.
Speaker 7 (33:04):
Got killed for.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
They got killed for more than Hoopstak got killed for
the reason. It's fine. Yes, what did you say, Jamie?
Speaker 4 (33:10):
That would be that would be Aerosmith.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
No, aerosmith. I don't want to miss I thought it
was country Grammar five likes a class like, oh yeah, man,
let's go, man.
Speaker 8 (33:23):
I expect everyone on that table to be blasting Evan
and Jaron and the commercial break done yet?
Speaker 2 (33:28):
No, inded? I want having a Jaran next year's halftime.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
How about we have them on the show?
Speaker 2 (33:33):
I know, like, can we play it on the air.
I want to hear that song.
Speaker 8 (33:36):
So Baddrick Lamar is no longer performing, Evan and Jaron
are the halftime and they're crazy for.
Speaker 4 (33:42):
This girl, Crazy for this girl. The Lombardi Okay.
Speaker 8 (33:46):
In the twenty twenty AFC Divisional Round the Upstart Baker,
Mayfield led Brown somehow cut the lead to five and
gave the Chiefs everything they could. It was third and
fourteen with just two minutes to go, Chiefs two minute
warnings already passed, one time out left.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
What happens on this play? Let's get to the choices. A.
Speaker 8 (34:15):
Chad Henny hits mccol hartman for a fifteen yards and
a first down. B Chad Henny runs for thirteen yards
and sets up a fourth and inches. See Chad Henny
hits Travis Kelce for a sixty five yard game ceiling
touchdown pass or d Here comes Tyrek on the reverse
twenty three yards, take a knee, Mahomes they advance. We
(34:36):
start with Manti, then we go Akbar Jamie.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
Now I'm looking at it this way.
Speaker 8 (34:41):
We start with Akbar, then we go Jamie, then we
go Manti, then we go Kyle Akbar.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
You're first.
Speaker 9 (34:47):
Oh, okay, we gotta go quick here. So I'm thinking
third and fourteenth. You gotta obviously take a deep shot.
You're not gonna do a reverse with the Tyreek Hill
even though you could. But I'm gonna go here with
the Travis Kelce. You're gonna go see Travis Kelcey sixty
five yard touchdown pass.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
I think this was the postseason of Nicol Hartman. I'm
gonna go A hits Mika Harmon for a first down
since seals the game.
Speaker 10 (35:07):
I remember there was a game where Andy Reid went
for it on fourth down to seal the game, and
I think it's gonna be be to put them in
position to seal the game. That's where I'm gonna go.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
If both Evan and Jaren were crazy for the girl
who ended up getting the girl, maybe Paul, if I
don't all right, be I go Chad Henny, he runs,
sets up fourth inches, Let's go.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
Let's go to Nanson Romo for the answer.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Here's Henny and Trouble trying to run for it running
He's good out up.
Speaker 15 (35:36):
Chad Honey may have just said Kansas City into the
AC Championship game, Patrick Patrick Mahomes does puts his head
down knowing who the first down is, and Satni is
Kansas City, I think to the AFC Championship.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
My god man, Tyger absolutely right.
Speaker 8 (35:54):
The very next play they go to Tyreek Hill and
he gets the first down and it's over. But Chad
Henny makes the play guys, it's Chiefs Brown's week again.
Travis Kelsey's going home and the folks, We're going home
to cure the evident.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
Jarren to commercial player.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Right now here we go.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
Come on as soon as we get off the air,
right matchups?
Speaker 2 (36:11):
Yeah, there they are, look at the Oh hell yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
Come on. They have Country Grammar halftime next year.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
I want those guys one song they played five times.
Speaker 11 (36:30):
Football Sherry Burds Hey the Crown Now in Chapel Hill,
North Carolina, Kyle Bill Belichick officially rocking the tar heel
blue now after signing a five year deal to become
the new head football called coach at the University of
North Carolina. Belichick introduced on Thursday, even getting a sleeveless hoodie.
His father, Steve, was an assistant football coach at un
(36:52):
SEE back in the early fifties, so Belichick, he's a
longtime connection with the program.
Speaker 12 (36:59):
You know, when you're little, you don't remember everything. Obviously
I was too young to remember a lot of things
from Carolina. But as I grew up, you know, you
hear the same story over and over and over oh again,
and so one story I always heard was Billy's first
words were beat Duke.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Bill, What do you say to people that fear that
if you do succeed here that you might leave for
the NFL again in a year or two.
Speaker 12 (37:27):
Yeah, I didn't come here to leave.
Speaker 11 (37:32):
Well, winning press conference's early coach.
Speaker 7 (37:34):
We see there when we come back.
Speaker 11 (37:36):
Kyle's Angry Runner Rashad why getting his love on Madden.
Speaker 8 (37:39):
You don't want to miss this, Peter Stringer, what is
that on the screen that is a curious, just maniacal
angry bull.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Yes, an animated one, exactly right. And there's another animated
bull that that is our guy for Shad White from
the Tampay Buccaneers. He ran over everybody one Anger Runs
this week, and so now the people in Madden power
him up to destroy everyone. That's him Ultimate Team number
one for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not bucking the rookie.
This is Rashad has been around a few years. And
(38:11):
this is also our guy, Henry Leverett, who is the
world's best Madden player. Yes, he is running out of
everybody playing with Rashad. So follow what happens. We nominate
people for Angry Runs. We picked a champion, They get
powered up and Madden and then the best Madden player
in the world gives us highlights of them destroying piece.
Pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (38:27):
It's really cool. Traver's dry. I guess that's a custom
team that they have.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
Yes, yes, I believe Jaden Daniels was the quarterback from Buccaneers.
It is app upside down on Acid Trip and Ultimate Team.
That's what makes it fun. Here's what you're gonna do.
Get into Madden NFL twenty five and dominate as Rashad
White number one from the Buccaneers. He once was at
Mount Saint Union College. I'm san Antonio, actually Tonio all right,
Madden Ultimate Team Now see watch GMFP next Tuesday to
(38:53):
see who wins. We love you, Rashad White. He a
sports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and everybody at home with sticks.
Jamie is perfect.
Speaker 7 (39:01):
We love it.
Speaker 3 (39:01):
And it's such a flex that you get that best
Meden player in the world to send him your clips
from you guys that are flex out on Madden. We
are flex out on our next hour on GMFB. We
got Andrea Kramer coming on. We're going to do mad
minute for the games, but also in the era of
two thousand pop songs and all that we're talking about
there was a governor of Minnesota named Jesse Ventura. He
(39:22):
is coming on the show next hour. That was in
the year two thousand. Jesse Ventura coming on the box
