Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
That's right, GMFB Friday version Rashad Seth, Vansey and myself, Jamie.
You know what's great editorially is like the Rams delivered
this and they probably.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Were like, it's fine, It'll just be in the background.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Life sized version of Aaron Donald. Do you understand how
many times one of us is going to walk over
anytime a yes or a no question is going to
be asked, and you just got to tap their forehead
there on Aaron Donald Seth freaking Rollins.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
What do you think? I love it? I love it.
I never had.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
I'm a little jealous if you could get a Seth
freaking Rollins.

Speaker 5 (00:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
I once had a little bobblehead made of me at
my hometown minor league baseball, and I thought that was incredible.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
This is next level next He's.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Just showing you up at this point. Now we know
what to get you for Christmas.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
So honestly, well, we'll put in your garage.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Yes exactly, Yes we will.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
I've never wanted to ask more yes no questions.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Guys.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Shall we watch the Bills Texans medium highlight?

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Yes, yes, yea there and thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Texans hang on to win this one despite the Bills
offense stomping their way down the field twenty three to nineteen.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
The Texans defense they just.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Know how to get Josh Allen frankly, four teams this
season have.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Gotten the Bills.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
They now sit at seven and four twenty three nineteen
year final Texans six and five.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
They stay alive.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
And there was one singular word that their head coach
finally felt the best way to describe how his team
looked last night.

Speaker 6 (01:32):
Wow, outstanding performance, outstanding game. And for our guys to
continue to finish games how they finish them. So extremely
proud of our guys for the effort they showed tonight,
playing together, playing complimentary football. Went down to the wire,
but it's all about how you finished. So I'm really
excited to get this win.

Speaker 7 (01:52):
They wanted it today, you know, And yeah, I mean
we had a chance to win it there at the
end and got to find a way. Hindsight's twenty twenty.
Ultimately we got excute, you know, and we didn't do
good enough job of that of that tonight. Whatever situation,
whatever circumstance we had, we got to put our head
down and find a way there.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
And on the field, we didn't.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Frankly, we don't understand the identity of this Bills team
right now.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
What's up, Aaron Donald?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
The Bills have lost four of their last seven games
after starting the year four and oh the Texans they
feel they're feeling themselves. They're six and two over their
last eight games after a tough start.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
So Manti before, I.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Don't even have to ask you the question, because, frankly,
yesterday when we were previewing this game, you were all
tooks and defense, took and defense, and now look at
you as you smiling today.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
It doesn't feel better when you get something right.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
We don't get it right all the time, but when
you do, it just feels so good.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
You guys, remember, remember when we were young, and kids nowadays,
I don't think they know the joy of being in
an arcade room. Remember, and then we had those those
games where you could have a team of four and
we all had.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
To choose a character.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Then there's that storyline and then you get to the
final boss. We're all trying to beat the final boss.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
But then we.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Realized that what all the moves that we used to
get us there doesn't work anymore. I felt that that's
what it was for Josh Allen trying to go against
this Houston Texans defense. How many times have we seen
this guy him run around, scramble around and make these
insane throws after running about one hundred yards that.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Didn't work last night.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Specifically, the Houston Texans hit him twelve times.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
There were twelve QB hits.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
They had eleven tackles for loss, two interceptions, one force
FuMB but one fumber of recovery. They had eight sacks.
This is the most that Josh Allen has ever been sacked.
But that's not the thing that is extraordinary about this defense.
Seven of those sacks came from rushing four or less
D linemen. They were gatting pressure with four or less people.

(03:47):
That to me is impressive about this Texans defense. That
is what the Texans need to continue to do to
have a shot, because they do. Had they lost this game, guys,
it was not looking good for them in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
But because they won, and.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Because they have this great defense shot, there's a lot
to look for the Houston Texans.

Speaker 8 (04:06):
Absolutely, And to piggyback off that a little bit man
talking about defense. I saw Josh Allen last night looking
like Patrick Mahomes last year in the Super Bowl playing
against the Eagles. They were just sending for getting all
the pressure they needed and it was one time when
they sent the house and they paid for it last
night the Texans. So when you can get after the
quarterback with just four it's kind of a long day

(04:28):
in the office.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
And also noticed that.

Speaker 8 (04:30):
The Bills really don't have somebody outside of Shakir that
he can go to when he's the resting in trouble.
I mean, we're talking about a Thursday night game post
so from Sunday to.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Thursday, Josh is tired.

Speaker 8 (04:43):
He's beat up here and you saw him getting up
limping a lot of different times.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
So I'm kind of worried about.

Speaker 8 (04:48):
The Bills moving forward because they don't have somebody they
can just give the answer to, say, hey, put the
ball in his hand and make a play outside of
James Cook.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Yeah, shot, you're right man.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
I mean watching that game last night, first of all,
shout out to the Texans that but the uniforms, man, oh,
I love it. It was a beautiful game to watch, you know.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
He was just pleasing to the eyes. I really loved it.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
And you know, I could jump on the defense because
it won the game, no doubt about it. I mean,
it was not even really as close as the scoreboard
says it was. He's got a member that builds out
like I think one offensive touchdown, the other one was
on a kick return there.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
It's kind of wild.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
When I watched this game, and I said it yesterday,
I said, both of these teams, they're gonna fight, they're
gonna claw, they're gonna scratch. It's gonna come down to
it in the fourth quarter, and it's exactly what happened.
I knew Josh Allen was going to be able to
keep the team in the game, and he did there
at the end. But I mean that defense was just overwhelming.
It was overwhelming, and Davis Mills just kept him in it,

(05:49):
you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
He didn't make mistakes.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
He was He didn't play the cleanest game, you know,
barely fifty percent I think completion percentage, but he was fine.
I think you know, they had some good running game
there with the kid Max is that his name?

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Man?

Speaker 4 (06:02):
He was oh yeah, yeah, yeah, he was good. He
was running the ball when they need him to, and
they would pick up just efficient first downs, They moved
the ball down the field, obviously had good field position.
With a few turnovers they force they look like a contender.
When they get CJ. Stroud back, a playmaker on that
offensive side, they might be able to make a push
here of the year.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
What's really tricky about the Texans and said the way
you're describing them is that that game was in desperate
need of a win for Houston. However, the way they
did it was fully within their identity, their brand pattern
of what the Texas need, which Jamiko ryans. You can
just see the pride exuding from him after a game
like that.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
No, it's so funny that we talk about the front,
But the reason why the front was able to get
home like that was because also the secondary right Stingley
and Buck and all of those guys like Bullock had
one of the best games from a defensive back this year.
He had both picks four step fumble, so he is
everywhere in the backfield. So there's a marriage between the
rush and the coverage. You see Josh Allen having to

(06:56):
scramble around like that. Guys, those eight sacks, it equated
for seventy total loss of yardage for the Bills just
getting the ball, taking three steps and sitting back there.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
He's scrambling around.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Why because that secondary is really forcing him to hold
onto that ball. When you force the quarterback like that
to hold onto the ball, it allows the four dogs
is getting to him time to get to him. So
it was a total defensive effort. And to your point
with the offense, they're being strategic, they're being very They
stayed within the chains and they didn't make any type
of mistakes that I thought.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
That would hurt them.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
All right, Shout out to the AFC South because they're
making things very interesting and spicy down the stretch and
how it plays into the AFC playoff picture as a
whole makes things quite fascinating for us. As you see,
of course, the Bronco's at the number one overall seed
right now. Again we are only entering week twelve, Pats
at two, which they distanced themselves a little bit last
night with the help of the Texans beating the Bills,

(07:49):
and then that hooreshoe at the third spot in the
AFC right now eight and two Indianapolis Colts, And what
a rare gift we have on a Friday morning to
have a crimed player joining GFFB looking out here, the
cold swide receiver coming on the show.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
What's going on?

Speaker 8 (08:07):
All?

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah, good morning, good morning to you.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Indeed, my gosh, thank you so much for carving time
out of your day after a bye heading into preparation
for not just any old opponent, but an AFC foe.
I would think in the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Now listen, Alec.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
History tells us that you have never lost to the
Chiefs in your professional career. Not many people could say that.
So what kind of feeling do you have walking into
Arrowhead on Sunday?

Speaker 5 (08:34):
Yeah, just preparing for it.

Speaker 9 (08:35):
You like, it's a big game, you know, knowing that
you know we're getting towards November football now, it's really
getting down the stretch and it's becoming a lot more
like playoffs, like football, and you know, this is a
this is a playoff team. This has been the best
team in the NFL for my whole career, you know,
with I think the won two Super Bowls and it
made it to another one. So yeah, a tremendous amount

(08:58):
of respect for them. They're a great organization and we
know we have a big challenge coming up.

Speaker 8 (09:04):
Mister Piris, take me back a little bit to college,
just real quick, just to reference everybody. Now, you actually
played defense in college. I know Mike Brown, your wide
receiver coach, is a good friend of mine. So tell
us in the world actually why you're so physical and
tough on the offensive side, because you got a defensive background.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
Yeah, first of all, shout out Mike Brown, man.

Speaker 9 (09:25):
But yeah, no, I played so my freshman year, I
was like straight on special teams, right. I played receiver,
but I didn't have any I didn't have any catches
on the year. I was basically a gunner in the
cover unit for a kickoff and frontline kr stuff like that.
And then they liked me a lot as a player.

(09:45):
And I think it was just before Mike Brown got there.
Since the coach, I don't think the receiver coach really
had much of a plan for me and the defensive coach.
You know, it's actually our special teams coach here right
at with the Colts now, Brian Mason. So he was
a special teams coach and outside linebackers coach.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
So he brought me over to play outside back.

Speaker 9 (10:04):
It's really almost like a nickel I'd say, so I
did that for the bull practices and it was it
was cool. It was a good experience. I don't know,
I would have had to put on a lot of way.
It was definitely tough, but it was it was fun
playing over there. I grew up playing a ton of
defense with basically safety until about like my junior year
in high school.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
So all right, all right, So, knowing what you know
about defense, you were recently reunited with former college teammate
Sauce Gardner, who's a stud. What is he meant to
your team to add someone like that of his caliber?

Speaker 3 (10:39):
How is it to be, you.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Know, wearing the same uniform as Sauce one more time.

Speaker 9 (10:43):
Yeah, it's been great, you know, it's it's I think
it's just now like officially setting in because just we've
been on that buy and we were out in Germany,
so it wasn't really in the locker room like that normally,
but just seeing him around every day, man, it's it's
it's awesome. It brings me back to college days. Uh,
you know, just he's a great guy, great teammate to
have and know I'm really excited to see him. Uh,

(11:05):
there you go, there's there's a good I'm excited to
see what him and uh now that that Mooney you
know hopefully is back here. To see those two out
there on the outside. And that's that's tough matchups for people.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Aleck, I didn't know you played defensive football. I mean,
it makes sense. Mike rob is a good friend of ours.
He says, the best player is an offensive guy with
the defensive mentality. And the reason why I bring it
up is, I'm gonna take you back to Week ten
in Berlin when Jonathan Taylor had this monster eighty three
yard rushing touchdown.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
However, a big part of that of.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Him making that happen was you and your efforts and blocking.
Take us through that play, Like what what makes you,
as somebody who may not be directly integrated into a play,
do do these types of things, because these are choices
that you have to make.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
Take us through what happened.

Speaker 9 (11:51):
It's crazy to play scored on right. It's just like
a pretty simple like not like a home run, hitting run,
play right, and it just happened to he finds a
little bit of space, and that's just knowing him knowing
we got JT back there, like he's got the home
run him speed, right, So like once once I kind
of you start hearing that crowd, uh, that crowd going
a little bit, and you're like, cause I'm backside, I

(12:12):
can't really see what's going on. And the corner takes
off running and I'm like, oh, you know, I just
know I've seen him do it so many times. I'm like,
he can he can turn that, you know, five yard
run into an eight yard touchdown if you just give
him that space.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
So I was like, I'm not.

Speaker 9 (12:25):
Reggie Wins a receiver coach, and he basically tells us,
you know, like our job is like as long as
your guy doesn't make the tackle, like it's a plus
on the play. So it's like, I'm not, I'm not
gonna let my guy written that touch on there.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Well, it's definitely plaid off for Jonathan Taylor because he's
been absolute beast this year. That that game, he scored
three touchdowns and he continues to wrack up points for
your for your for your offense. What has it been
like working alongside somebody somebody like that that has his
type of demeanor.

Speaker 9 (12:50):
Yeah, it's been it's been special, you know, just seeing
what he can do and he's just he's such a consistent,
Like he's always been the same guy all four of
my years in the league, Like just works really hard,
you know, really about his routine. So it's he's been
a guy that I've been able to learn a lot
of things from and just seeing how it is to
be a pro and like take care of yourself, take
care of your body, because you know he's he's getting

(13:12):
a lot of hits and stuff like that during the game,
so you know he's got to be proactive on that
and make sure he stays healthy.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Absolutely, alec All eyes have been on the Colts, not
just what you guys put on the football field, but
also everything that happens in and out of the building
as well. There's so much talk about your Colt CEO,
Carl Orse Gordon being on the sideline of practice with
the headset on during the games, being very engaged, more
engaged than people often see personally with players than other owners.

(13:39):
How has this directly impacted your relationship with ownership with
management for a team that you have such an important
professional relationship with, what's that like with the RSA sisters.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
Yeah, it's great. I don't think a lot of people realize.

Speaker 9 (13:53):
But she's been doing that for I think my whole career,
and I don't know how much before that, but she's
been wearing the headset at least all four years I've
been on the team, and she comes to practice pretty
much most day. She usually stands over by us receivers.
She's she'll be asking some questions, and I kind of
I think she's she's wearing the headset to learn, Like
she wants to understand the offense. She wants to understand

(14:15):
the defense, know all the play calls, you know, So
that's what like, she'll stand over by us on offense
and occasionally have a question here or there, like looking
at the script, like shout the script. She'll be falling
through practice, just kind of wanted to understand exactly, you know,
the play calls and stuff like that, because you know,
it's it's basically like a foreign language.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
Right.

Speaker 8 (14:31):
So, Pierris, you're you're in your fourth year. Well, if
you had another quarterback, congratulations on getting your first year
as a vet.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
That is a tall task.

Speaker 8 (14:40):
But tell us a little bit about adjusting to Daniel Jones.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
What kind of a leader is he?

Speaker 5 (14:45):
Yeah, Daniel's a great leader.

Speaker 9 (14:48):
You know he's he's not like he's he's pretty vocal,
i'd say, but he's not like the biggest like ra
ra guy, you know, kind of in your face.

Speaker 5 (14:56):
But I think he just really leads with.

Speaker 9 (14:57):
His like it's kind of his like work ethic, I'd say,
like he's he's in here just I see every time
I come here, I see his car in the parking lot.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
He's in here grinding film all the time.

Speaker 9 (15:08):
I Mean, he does a really good job of like
just making sure like communicating with us, making sure we're
on the same page, right, So like he'll kind of
go over some extra film with us receivers and be like, hey, like,
you know, we got this play call up this week,
if it's this, if this is the defensive coverage here,
like I'm gonna need you to do this here, or
a throttle on this zone or a breakaway from this defender.

(15:29):
So it's good to kind of just have that knowledge
and just you know, it's It's come up several times
this year where I'm like, oh, this is exact look
he's talking about, and I knew exactly what he wanted
from me because then we're on the same page, you know.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Al like You're so chill, you're so cool, you're a
new friend of our show. But you're also just an
absolute menace on the football field, and we love that
for you and the Colts. Good luck the rest of
this season, this weekend against the Chief, stay healthy, and
I'm sure we will be talking to you again in
the future.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Thank you absolutely, Hall, Like Fiers everybody, the Rams are
gonna regret giving us this Aaron Donald life side bottlehead
by the end of the show. I can almost guarantee it.
The Rams are giving out the miniature version to take
home for the first sixty thousand fans this week and
at Sofi Stadium. So when I asked Tom Pellasaro injury
questions about week twelve, I almost want to make him

(16:16):
only answer and strictly yes or no questions, just so
I can work Aaron Donald into it. So, Tom Pellasero,
what is Joe Burrow going to play this weekend? Or
should I just stop him now because we're just not sure?

Speaker 10 (16:29):
Can Aaron Donald shrug? I know that's kind of a
cop I bet he ken I would say, bobblehead, Aaron Donald.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Yeah, maybe don't hurt yourself there. Jamie. Let's talk about
Joe Burrow.

Speaker 10 (16:40):
He was listed as a full participant in practice for
a second consecutive day on Thursday, as he works his
way back from that surgery for a severe case of
turf to It's fair to say at this point Burrow
has a realistic shot of playing.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
He is ahead of schedule.

Speaker 10 (16:58):
It was initially supposed to be twelve to fourteen weeks,
which would have had him back in mid to late December. Instead,
by virtue of Burrow be listed as a full participant,
that means he got all the first team reps in
practice on both Wednesday and Thursday. Now, remember Joe Flacco
has been dealing with an injury to his throwing shoulder.
He may not have been able to take regular reps anyway.

(17:19):
Final test today Burrow remains on IR for the moment,
would have to be activated prior to four pm Eastern
time on Saturday in order to play on Sunday. Colds
quarterback Daniel Jones popped up on the injury report on Thursday,
officially listed as limited in practice because of a calf issue.
My understanding is this is not a major cause for

(17:40):
concern for Daniel Jones. Certainly something to monitor, but the
expectation as of now is that he will be good
to go on Sunday for a huge game against the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
As for Steelers.

Speaker 10 (17:51):
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, he returned to practice on Thursday, officially
listed as limited as he pushes to play despite a
fracture in his left wrist. Mike Tomlin has said that
the Keys are gracing it for the safety and comfortability
of Aaron Rodgers, and the second part is how functional
is he?

Speaker 3 (18:09):
My understanding is.

Speaker 10 (18:10):
Rodgers looked really good in practice on Thursday. He has
acknowledged there might be some things they have to do differently,
might be more comfortable, for instance, to take snaps in
the shotgun as opposed to under center. Still needs final
medical clearance. That decision could come as soon as today.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Jamie. All right, Tom, thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Let's hone in on what's happening with the Steelers, the
AFC North, and their opponent this weekend in the Chicago Bears.
Right now, the Steelers are one game behind the Ravens
in their division, and the Bears are half a game
ahead of the Packers in the NFC North. So Manti,
knowing what we know now, about Rogers how he feels.
But also have the Bears have been playing, what do
you think.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Of this game?

Speaker 1 (18:48):
I think it's going to be interesting to see if
Aaron Rodgers plays with not on how that changes the
dynamic of this defense that is the Chicago Bears. Now,
when I'm looking at if I'm trying to analyze the Steelers' offense,
it's not as complex as it was.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
When Aaron Rodgers was with the Packers.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
And the reason why is because Arthur Smith's system is
a run for a system. There's not a lot of
exotic checks that you have to worry about. The things
that you do have to worry about. If Aaron Rodgers
is in the game is always his cadence right, his
cadence has drawn. I remember prepping for an Aaron Rodgers
led team and the coaching point was, even within five
seconds of of the playclock, don't go off when it's

(19:24):
always watched the ball. The second thing I think Aaron
Rodgers has done a really good job at this year
is he's distributing the ball evenly. I don't think you
can pinpoint a guy on there on the offensive side
of the ball. As far as pass catchers that he
likes to go. So if I am the Bears understanding
that he's going to be even with the ball, he
doesn't have a favorite yet. Now, if Mason Rudolph does
come in, its figuring out who does he like to

(19:46):
go to the ball to.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Because the first thing that.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
A second string quarterback wants to do is he wants
to get comfortable. And the best way for him to
get comfortable is two things. Run the ball or find
somebody you're very comfortable at getting the ball to. So
it's going to be different, But I think for the Bears,
preparing for Aaron Rodgers is the number one thing you
want to do, especially if he's in a shotgun all day.

Speaker 8 (20:05):
This is interesting to me because I actually think that
the Pittsburgh Steelers may be better off with Mason Rudolph
under center. And it sounds crazy, but if you really
look at it, when Mason came into the game, he
had he was twelve or sixteen, one hundred and thirty
yards a touchdown. Right, that's right on the track with
Aaron what Aaron Rodgers has just had. Now you look forward,
DK metcap one hundred and fifty million dollar contract is

(20:28):
catching the ball three point seven times a game, sixty
yards half a touchdown a game that's not really overtly impressive.
The Steelers are known for playing great defense. What helps
a great defense is a great offense. They've only had
the ball averaging fifty five snaps a game. You know
how much pressures on your defense. When Mason Rudolph was in,
He's precision. It's just like you look at the rock

(20:50):
Perty or the mac Jones. You want somebody that's hot, flying,
they can make big players. You just want somebody who's efficient,
and I think Mason Rudolph could be somebody that helps
them in this division moving forward?

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Did you just benj a Hall.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Of Famer for the Steelers down the stretch head of
playing the Bears.

Speaker 8 (21:05):
I do want to be clear that it's not an
indictment or four times Super Bowl, I mean four times VP.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Super Bowl champs favor just this moment this year. That's it. Look,
that's a hell of a hot take. That's a hell
of a hot take.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
There's one there's one problem with that, all right. Mason
Rudolph does not have an ownership stake in the Chicago
Bears franchise. Aaron Rodgers certainly does, and so Mason Rudolph,
if you're Chicago Bears fan, if you're a Chicago Bears defender,
no offense to Mason Rudolph. He does not strike fear

(21:42):
into your hearts. Right there is a monkey on your
back when you're playing against Aaron Rodgers. And so that
mental edge that Rogers is going to bring to the
table if he starts on Sunday is huge. And this
is a massive game for both teams, make no mistake
about it. The Ravens have caught fire, so the Steelers
they feel that heat coming.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
Up from behind them. They need to win.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
They need to win games like this, whether they're playing
these opponents like the Bears, who people are talking about
as oh, maybe they're not as good as their record.
So you got to go out there and you got
to win this game on the road. You got to
show the Ravens that you're still the team to beat
in the AFC North. And then the Bears, they're out
here showing the entire world why they're the elite team
in the NFC North, which is wild to talk about.

(22:25):
Against Green Bay, against Detroit, even Minnesota. So you know,
this is a huge game for both of these teams
that hot.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Take Mason Rudolph over Aaron Rodgers. I can't get behind that.

Speaker 4 (22:36):
I think you want Aaron Rodgers under center or behind center. However,
he's going to take these snaps on Sunday. That's going
to give you your best chance to win. I mean,
I just I would. I mean I want Aaron a
Bears fan. I want Aaron Rodgers in there because I
want to put it to them. I want to get
that w But I feel a lot more confident if
it's Mason Rudolph. I feel like you can fluster him
a little bit more, you know, No, I feel like

(22:57):
you can get to them what you got.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Man.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
What's funny is that we're talking about the Steelers offense
versus the Bears defense, and that isn't That isn't the
identity of this team, like the identity of both teams
as the offense for the Chicago Bears and the defense.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
For the Steelers.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
You need to talk about Mason Rudolph not striking fear
into the point.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
You know who does strike fears? TJ. Watt and all
of those guys on that side. So that's really where
this game is going to go for me.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Is can Caleb Williams continue to expand plays the way
that he has been.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
We just saw last night Josh Allen, who's known for
extending plays. But then he runs into one of them fronts.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
That is really good at getting after the quarterback. And
so it's understanding who you're going up against. Like there
are teams that you could add lib and get away
with stuff with, But then when you're running against a
Steeler's front that not only is productive and getting after
the pass rusher, but they play against Lamar Jackson. So
their defense that is used to a run a quarterback

(23:53):
that runs around, and that is a huge thing. Guys
where when you're talking about a defense that's used to
a scrambling quarterback. They know how to structure games, they
know how to do different things, who to pick, what
lineman to pick on, what lineman not to pick on.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
They're not going to run past the rusher.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
Why because they've had to go against Lamar Jackson for
so many years. So when I'm looking at Caleb Williams,
it's understanding when do I get this ball out? When
do I just throw this thing out of bounds and
go for a second and ten rather than scrambling around
and losing seven to eight yards because you're trying to
make something happen. So that's going to be the thing
for me that I'm going to look at the most.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
T J.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Watt is one sack away from passing his brother on
the all time sack list. He's got one hundred and
fourteen right now. JJ has one hundred and fourteen and
a half. And I just want to make sure for
the young viewers watching our show, the lore of Rogers
having ownership in the Chicago Bears is not just something
that we've actually like magnified overtime. The man is twenty
five and five against the Bears in the regular season

(24:51):
and the postseason. This is not something that we just
take and run with and it's overtime.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
It's ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
The Bears defense, they are going to have to really
embody what we know of Bears defenses of the pass
in order to take down one of the most notorious
monsters in their dreams.

Speaker 11 (25:10):
The hindsight of knowing where we just were, you know
it was, you know, three four weeks ago, we're sitting
at one and five, and you know everything's kind of
turning in on us. But the mindset of everyone to
come here and get to work, stay focused, and you know,
don't get too down and just continue to stay humble
and stay says steadfast. That was the whole energy around here.

(25:32):
I think that we're going to continue to carry that,
continue to carry our humility and focus on each and
every week and each and every game.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Hey, Aaron Donald's pet ram pet goat here. Should we
be fearful of the Ravens as the come running AFC team?

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Yeah? I think we agree.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Let's talk Ravens Jets, shall we ahead of this matchup
this weekend? MANSI? We know what the Ravens can do.
It faltered to start the season. But now what do
you make of Baltimore?

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Well, we knew that they were going to come on
late guys, right did we learned that last year and
we're learning it again. I'm reminded of it again this year.
I think that this is a great talk for them
to start accelerating.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Though.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
You accelerate into December and oversaw that's going to be
important for them leading into December.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Absolutely.

Speaker 8 (26:14):
I mean, you got to Rod Taylor over there, my
VA specialists.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
I love my.

Speaker 8 (26:18):
Virginias, but man, when you got Lamar Jackson on the
football field is always trouble the Jets. They haven't been there,
they haven't been showing up. I look and expect Baltimore
to continue to show why they potentially would be in
the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
They got to keep hustling. But the Jets are They're
not a pushover. They're won two out of their last
three games. I mean, they're not going to go in
and just get pushed over there. They put up some
points against the Browns defense. I think they might be
able to put up some points again against Baltimore and
we'll see.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Well, we're going to see also because Tyrod Taylor's playing right.
They benched the Jets that they benched justin fields and
now Tyrod Taylor's in there. So if I am a
Baltimore Ravens defense, they did show their ability to get
after the pass rusher last week, which is something that
they struggled with early. So that's going to be another
opportunity for this friend to get some.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Get some tracks. One down on Mad Minute.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Moving on, we've been quite focused on Ian Rappaport's reporting
of Joe Burrow's availability a quarterback for the Bengals. But
what we failed to continue to mention is the fact
that they're taking on a white hot Patriots team this weekend.
Bengals Pats for Shod. What do you think of this matchup?

Speaker 8 (27:16):
I think this is an easy one. This is very
easy call. One hundred percent give me the Pats.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
I mean, when you.

Speaker 8 (27:22):
Look at this as Drake May is balling out, he's
in argument for MVP for a reason. I think they
found a brand new toy over there in Foxborough with Henderson.
They're running back, he's playing phenomenal in the defense.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
It's just and.

Speaker 8 (27:34):
Plus they don't have their superstar over there. Since they
give me one hundred percent the Pats.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Yeah, but what if they do have.

Speaker 4 (27:40):
Their superstar there? What if Joe Burrow does come off
fire and he plays, is it a different team. I mean,
they're gonna have to score sixty points because their defense
ain't gonn be able to stop the Patriots. I mean,
but it's a wild card because they if they get rolling,
they got the weapons to put up the points.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Well, Mike Rabel's going to have to make a decision,
right because to your point, or Shod, Trayvon Henderson has
been phenomenal. He scored six touchdowns in two weeks. But
Romandre Stevenson, they say there's back, and now there's this
debate of now that remindre Stevenson is back?

Speaker 3 (28:08):
What does this pie? How you splitting this pie?

Speaker 1 (28:10):
If I'm you know, Mike Vrabel, do you kind of
go back to what you had before?

Speaker 3 (28:15):
Do you kind of rely heavily on.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
The rookie who's been pretty really really well for you?

Speaker 2 (28:18):
An old classic matchup in the NFC North this weekend
goes down between the Vikings and the Packers, and Seth
being such a staunched border of the Chicago Bears, We're
just gonna hold your hand right over this flame and
make you go first on this game.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
I mean, I don't I'm not going to say anything
good about that.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
I won't do it. I won't, I won't do it.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
But what I will say is that the Minnesota Vikings
defense is legit. That is a legit Brian Flores led defense,
and they are going to give the Packers fits. The
Packers are going to have to start makings plays. Man,
They're gonna have to get some offensive identity.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
Lafloor seems like he's lost it. I don't know, what's
going on in Green Bay. This is they're gonna have
to get right now. I don't know if this's gonna
be the game for him.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Well, I'm surprised you didn't talk about the Green Bay
Packers defense in that front. And JJ McCarthy has struggled
a little bit in the second year in the league.
And now you have guys like Michael Parsons that's coming
after you that you know laid in the fourth quarter
that number one is going to start getting his things.
So I really really like the Packers on this. But
I love Justin Jefferson in the way that he's handled
himself because we saw how frustrated wide receiver what he

(29:17):
can do. He hasn't demonstrated that. He's been very classy
in it.

Speaker 8 (29:20):
Yeah, and JJ McCarthy, I mean, he's getting a chance
to get comfortable, but I don't think the Green Bay
Packers are going to let him get comfortable. I'll look
to Green Bay Packers getting the run game with their
back up look.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
ERMI fund no matter what the last couple of times
the Packers and the Vikings have played game decided by
two points, are less moving on a game that we
hope is close, but the Lions could be feeling themselves
once again after being dismantled by the Eagles last week. MANSI,
it's Lions, giants. How do we think that's mental fair?

Speaker 3 (29:48):
Well, you use the term word dismaster, dismantled.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
Guys, did you know that the Lions scoring nine points
last week, that's the lowest amount of points he scored
in the past three years. So yeah, So, if I'm
Jared Goff, if I'm this offense, listen to the Giants.
Aren't no walk in the park now, Brian Burns. They
gonna get after you. But this is an opportunity to
get that thing going.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Like after last week. You need to get some tracks.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
You need to get some speed going into this this
playoff push which they're trying to get.

Speaker 8 (30:15):
Yeah, I said, give me the Johns baby, Eliminate explosive plays,
put them in a phone booth, make them play physical
front four for the john so great and Jackson Dark
coming back doing special things. Give me an upset, give
me the Johns bad.

Speaker 4 (30:31):
Oh, man, I like where your head's at.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
I like where your head's at. You know what I think?

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Jackson Dart coming back being healthy, I mean makes that
makes a huge difference in that offense.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Huge.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
Whether it's Jamis or Uss, It's doesn't matter. Jackson Dart's
is gonna be a big deal. So we'll see. I mean,
he's got just the he can run, he can throw.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
I'm with you, I'm going let's go Giants.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
Yeah, let's get after it all right.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
The mine's down.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Seahawks have a bit of a road challenge. They had
to come to La last week. They get beat by
two points against the Rams for shot. Now they got
to go to Tennessee and hopefully get things right, especial
with Sam Donald Anderson.

Speaker 8 (31:05):
Yeah, I tell you what, Listen, this could either be
a wake up call for the Seattle Seahawks or this
could be just a paper trail to the Tennessee Titans
to get a first overall draft picked.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
A game one or the other. But I think it's
going to be the latter.

Speaker 8 (31:17):
I think that Seattle gets it going. They got a
battation him out from losing. Whenever you can turn the
ball over four times and still almost win a game, Yeah,
come down to a kick you in a good situation.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
I think they get it going.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
Oh yeah again, you and mean same page here on
this one. Seattle, they should mop the floor with Tennessee.
I mean, God blessed Tennessee. They're not having a good year.
I mean they're they're rebuilding, right, I guess you know.
They got that game Ward, they're working on him. They're
going to get another top pick in the draft. I
don't know if it will be number one.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
New coach. I'm sure, yeah, new coach at some point. Yeah,
I'm with you. I mean it's it's Seahawks to rout them. Yeah.
I think for me, Sam Donald is going to have
to have a game like Jared Golf Right.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
You guys struggled last week, Like this is the game
that you guys get back on track now. As far
as the Seattle Seahawks are concerned, I really love their defense.
I love their pass game, their run game. Kenneth Walker
had his best game of the season, and I think
they need to start relying on him a little bit
more so.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Anytime we use that horn, it sounds like we're going
to the club.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
I'll go to club with that guy right now.
