Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
And while we would accept a six foot bobblehead of
really any player past or presence, we have Aaron Donald
and studio with us today because the Rams are giving
out a regular sized bobblehead to fans this weekend ahead
of Rams Bucks. Which is a great NFC game to
pay attention to.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
There's many on the slate actually, but last night.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
We twelve kicked off with a spicy little AFC matchup
that at first historically was showing us that watch out, Bills,
the Texans have had your number. Did it transpire that
way on the zon Well, let's find out. Josh Allen
in Houston CJ Stroud on the bench, missing his third
game with a concussion.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Texans though, have.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Fared just fine with Davis Mills Alan rightfully so frustrated
as he finished twenty four for thirty four, got sacked
eight times, two picks and now Josh Allen all in
a four on the road against the Houston Texans, which
you look at that in his career, Texans stay alive
six and five twenty three nineteen year final and after
the game. Our guy Steve Hoisch makes it all the
(01:04):
way to Houston to catch up with one of those
defensive stars that we mentioned.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Incredible game for the defense tonight, three takeaways, eight sacks.
Speaker 5 (01:14):
What about that performance?
Speaker 6 (01:15):
Man?
Speaker 4 (01:15):
First, I just gotta give all glory to God. Man,
that's just everybody doing Kingdom work man performing for his glory,
giving him all the praise of under man. But this team,
we had a short week in the preparation. The intensity
was there all week.
Speaker 6 (01:25):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
We was locked in. And that's what couple of married
football looked like. Authors doing that thing defense, doing that
thing special things. Man, we just gelling this one.
Speaker 7 (01:32):
Talk about complimentary football, but you guys only allowed of
one offensive touchdowns.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
Made it very tough for Josh Allen.
Speaker 6 (01:38):
What was working?
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Man? I think it's just everybody executed, everybody being on
the same page.
Speaker 8 (01:42):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
And I love this group because we're relentless, We're persistent.
We persevere through anything, any turnover, any first down. They
get this defense and this team just keeps going. And
that's what I love about the team.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Great energy.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
This is our second pass of this game. Second time
through the highlight, second conversation. We're gonna have However, Manti
started the first hour by referencing a point he made
yesterday bit yesterday about the Texans defense on how they're
going to have to set up. Speaking of things that
were said yesterday, seth Rollins back at the table and
let's just have a quick little review of how he
thought this game might go. Because when someone sticks the
(02:15):
landing on a take about a matchup, we always have
to pay it off.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
This is going to go down to the very end.
Speaker 9 (02:22):
I feel in the fourth quarter, somebody's going to have
to make a play, whether it's going to be.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
Defensive or offensive.
Speaker 9 (02:28):
It might not be a high scoring affair, but it's
going to be intense because both of these teams need
this victory. Yeah, the visionary revolutionary not just for pro wrestling,
(02:48):
pro football as well. Look, a broken watch is right
twice a day. I can't take all the credit.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
I know. I got to give the credit where it's due.
Speaker 9 (02:58):
And that is to defense. Yeah, that defense. You said
it yesterday too, man, take I got to give you credit.
You called on the defense to step up. Man, did
they step up? And I loved I loved watching this game,
not just because we got such a stinker the week before.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
But this was an awesome game.
Speaker 9 (03:14):
Like I said, you had two teams playing their hearts out.
Josh Allen tried to keep his team in the game.
He was trying to make plays from the left to
the right to the center, but it just wasn't there.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
And I'll tell you what I loved about watching this
game excellence.
Speaker 9 (03:30):
I loved watching excellence. When you get the opportunity to
see eleven guys on one side of the ball play
collectively as well as the Houston Texans defense played.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
I mean, it's a special thing.
Speaker 9 (03:43):
You don't get the opportunity to do that all season long.
You're not gonna get games like this where they sack
an elite quarterback eight times, where they hit him a
dozen times, where they forced three turnovers in their own zone.
You are not going to get that opportunity to watch
that kind of thing, especially on the Thursday night. And
so it was a beautiful thing and their beautiful shiny
red helmets. I loved every second of it. Mantai, you
(04:06):
hit it right on the nose of the defense.
Speaker 6 (04:08):
Yeah, the front was. They were disruptive all night long.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
And that has to go with also credit to the secondary, right,
the secondary was able to cover.
Speaker 6 (04:17):
And when you know their even.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Though you can't see the wide receivers on a telecast,
you know that they're clamping guys down because when you
see Josh Allen have to run from sideline to sideline
and try to make things happen, is.
Speaker 6 (04:28):
Because nobody's open, right.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
So when you have a defense like the Houston Texans
were from front to back, they are the best. I
think they're the number one scoring defense in the NFL
right now. And this is a year that has the
Philadelphia Eagles defense playing phenomenal, the Seattle Seahawks defense the
Rams last week getting four turnovers from the Seahawks.
Speaker 6 (04:48):
This is I love this. I love it.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
I know the guy behind me over my shoulder loves it.
Speaker 6 (04:53):
It was good to see for me as a defender.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
All Right, Rashad, you're gonna have the challenge of carrying
a water here for the Bills conversation, because while the
Texans needed this just from a record standpoint in their
division and the AFC whatnot, something is off with the
Buffalo Bills and we can't quite put our finger on it,
but there were just more examples of the fact that offensively,
it's just not working right now.
Speaker 10 (05:13):
Yeah, they're relying on Josh all the time. You know,
obviously they got James Cooks. They can hand the ball
off too, But when you're looking at the receiving corps,
who can they depend on outside of Shakir. You know,
when you win the MVP of the league, right, there
is a higher level of expectations for you. But I
feel bad for them because listen, during the off season,
(05:35):
they didn't elevate their defense per se. During the off season,
they didn't elevate their offense.
Speaker 6 (05:39):
So they said, Josh, look, we're just gonna let you
do it again. They could acquire.
Speaker 10 (05:43):
Somebody to give him a breather. I didn't see that.
And obviously when you ran against somebody like the Bills,
I mean, shoot, you run against somebody's like the defense
with the Texans is going to be uphill battle. But
you know, I'm concerned a little bit for the Bills,
just simply because whereas his help and that he's a
special player, without a doubt, he can carry the team.
Speaker 6 (06:03):
He can put them on this show.
Speaker 10 (06:04):
Right he could be the Santa Claus with the sled behind,
But can he do a day in day out? You know,
from a Sunday to a Thursday game. You got to
give grace because it's tiresome, especially we got to go
against about a defense like that. But the Bills I
think are in trouble.
Speaker 6 (06:19):
Yeah, I think they're in trouble.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
And the thing that concerns me the most about the
Buffalo Bills is this, Like, when you look at most
teams that are struggling, they either have a really good
defense and a struggling offense or really good offense and
a struggling defense. When I look at the Buffalo Bills team,
they have a struggling defense, but they have a struggling
offense as well. Like the thing that they do really
well is they run the ball. But outside of that,
(06:41):
to your point, Shod Josh Allen doesn't have that security blanket.
The security blanket. When you see Josh Allen trying to
scramble on doing things, there's usually a relationship that you
have with one of your receivers that he knows when
he sees his quarterback doing this, he knows exactly where
to go, what to do to get open, to help
his quarterback out. With the Buffalo Bills, he doesn't have
that yet. And so last year was clear secure. There's
(07:03):
a little bit of Dulton. Now Dalton Kinkaid didn't play
last night. So then you start to ask the question,
if you had somebody that's reliable, the most reliable guide
to you, would that look different. Well, it hasn't looked
different in the first eleven to twelve twelve weeks of
the season. His best options in the past two weeks
have been his running backs, not only in the running game,
but last week we also saw in the passing game.
(07:23):
So they need to find a pass catcher, a tight
end or receiver that can be that security blanket for
Josh Allen because until he gets there, it's going to
be him running around from silent to silent a lot.
Speaker 9 (07:34):
What you guys say, man, tid you know who Josh
Allen's security blanket is.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
It's Josh Allen.
Speaker 9 (07:41):
I understand he's the MVP of the league for a reason.
And look, I understand the concern valid points from both
of you guys for concerned with Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
I am not concerned for the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 6 (07:53):
Now.
Speaker 9 (07:53):
Look, Patriots came out of nowhere in the AFCs. They
got a little bit of a strangle hold on this division.
Not to say the Bills can't catch you out, but
it is going to be difficult.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
I feel like the.
Speaker 9 (08:02):
Bills are still in a good position to make a
wild card. And when you get Josh Allen in the postseason,
he is a difference maker.
Speaker 5 (08:11):
He can run the ball, he can pass the ball.
Speaker 9 (08:13):
He can take a mediocre team that you guys might
be saying, oh, we don't have any weapons to get
to nobody reliable. He can take a team like that
because he's such a special, special talent and he can
make them elite win.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
It matters most.
Speaker 9 (08:27):
So, yeah, we got to get these games in the
regular season, but Josh Allen is Josh Allen's security blanket.
I tell you, I'm not saying the Bills are all right,
but I'm saying, just like I said about the Ravens
way back a few weeks ago, they're going to be okay.
I feel confident when it comes time January, Josh Allen
is going to be a factor in the AFC.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Playoffs, all right.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
So speaking a factor though, when you watch the Texans
last night, Manti, I'll asked you this question first, how
did that make you feel? Just within the AFC South,
because we have as a media collective, become increasingly obsessed
over the Indianapolis Colts.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Now we'll see how they'll do against the Chiefs this week.
But now that you see what.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
The Texans have become in terms of a defensive behemoth,
put that in comparison against the Colts in that division, Well.
Speaker 6 (09:11):
It's going to be funny.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Because you talk about the Texas, they got to play
the Colts twice, you know it's still right.
Speaker 6 (09:16):
And then you also look at the playoff picture.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
You look at the Jacksonville Jaguars who are in that
seventh seed, they too have to play the Colts twice.
As matter of fact, we could even stretch it out
where the Coats have to play them twice. Right, So
this is not just something where we're going to look
at these three teams and be like, oh, two of
you got to play the Colts, who seems like this
unbeatable team. This is a division and I've learned this
since the beginning of this year. And I learned that
(09:39):
and I know it as a player. When you play
divisional opponents, it doesn't matter what your record is, it
doesn't matter what your offensive or defensive rank is, because
those guys know.
Speaker 6 (09:48):
You very very well.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
So those are going to be those those matchups that
are going to be so that they're going to be
weighed heavily, heavily in this playoff picture. And if I'm
talking about the Buffalo Bills, I know, I know, Seth
you brought up.
Speaker 6 (10:02):
You're not worried.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
This is what I'm worried about that on two, three, four, five,
six games left. Three out of those six games are
the New England Patriots.
Speaker 6 (10:11):
The Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
And I will go as to say this, on December
twenty first, they play the Cleveland Browns. You could say
what you want about the Cleveland Browns. They do two
things very very well. They run the ball. The Buffalo
Bills can't stop the run right now, that defense can't
stop the run.
Speaker 6 (10:28):
What they also do is their defense.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
The Cleveland Browns defense is very very good from top
to bottom. It's almost reminds me of the Houston Texans
defense and their ability to get to the pass strusher
but have the secondary that can guard anybody and everybody.
So on December twenty first, and when the Buffalo Bills
play the Cleveland Browns at Cleveland, I am hoping that
(10:51):
this is going to be one of those games that
we look at and be like, this is going to
say a lot about the Buffalo Bills and the playoff
potential because that's not going to be a walking.
Speaker 6 (10:59):
Park for the Buffalo Bills too.
Speaker 10 (11:01):
And following that up, man, when you talk about the
AF South, I played in that division when I was
with Jacksonville Jaguar.
Speaker 6 (11:08):
It could be tough.
Speaker 10 (11:09):
And now the Coast is actually know the Coasts were
leading it when I was playing.
Speaker 6 (11:13):
That's so different. It was Hall of Fame quarterback again.
Speaker 10 (11:16):
Yeah, just really flashed back to that moment. I didn't
like it at all, man, But this division can be tough,
and it is. And look you look at the Texans
and center at six and five, the third in the
division six and five and all the talent that they have.
But now we know that Joe Mixon is not coming back,
They're gonna have to lean on what he marks. They're
gonna have to lean on their offensive lineman and can
they do that?
Speaker 6 (11:36):
And when CJ. Stroud come back, will he be that efficient?
I think he will.
Speaker 10 (11:40):
But their defense is if they if their defense play
like they did last night the rest of the season,
I mean, there's a rap for everybody.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
The Texans are playing with the luxury right now, which
is they have a star who's injured who will come
back to them eventually, and that's their quarterback.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
The Bills don't have that.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
They're playing with what they're doing, and the Bengals do
have that luxury as well, because whether or not Joe
Burrow is available to this team at quarterback remains to
be seeing. Tom Pellisero, Welcome back to GMA. It's Bengals
Patriots Week twelve. Whether or not Joe Burrow is playing
quarterback is a question and an answer that actually I'm
going to rely on you upon.
Speaker 6 (12:12):
Well, Jamie, here's what we know as of now.
Speaker 8 (12:14):
Joe Burrow was listed as a full participant in practice
for a second consecutive day on Thursday. That means he
took all the first team reps and it does appear
he's got a realistic chance to be available this week
for a huge game on Sunday against the Patriots. So
whether Burrow actually plays this week or not, it's safe
to say he is ahead of schedule. The original timeline
(12:36):
when he underwent surgery for that severe turf toe injury
was twelve to fourteen weeks. Here we are ten weeks
later and Burrow is taking extensive reps. Zach Taylor, also
asked multiple times this week, has not ruled out the
possibility of Burrow playing. Also worth mentioning Joe Flacco dealing
with a right shoulder injury. His reps have been limited
(12:57):
in recent weeks, probably would not have been available to
take a lot of those reps. Anyway, final test comes
today and Bengals do need to make a decision by
four pm Eastern Time on Saturday. That's when they would
need to activate Joe Burrow from injured reserve to have
him available on Sunday. Giants quarterback Jackson Dart remained limited
in practice on Thursday as he continues to make his
(13:19):
way back through the concussion protocol. Dart did not play
in last week's game. There's a five step process, including
clearance by an independent neurologist. If Dart is going to
be available this week, these next twenty four to forty
eight hours are really key. If he cannot go, then
it would be Jameis Winston getting the start for the
Giants instead. Meanwhile, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to practice
(13:43):
on Thursday listed as a full participant after sitting out
on Wednesday because of an ankle injury. This comes a
week after Lamar miss to Wednesday practice because a knee surtus.
Prior to that, he was dealing with a hamstring injury
that sidelined him for several weeks. Lamar downplayed the health
issues when he spoke with reporters on Thursday, said it's
part of football, certainly something to monitor, though not just
(14:06):
the availability. Where it does appear that Lamorrow will be
able to play on Sunday against the Jets, but how
well is he moving with the knee as well as
the ankle. Keep an eye on that as we get
up the Sunday.
Speaker 11 (14:17):
Jami, I guess I get a lot of attention when
things are going well and when things are not going
so well, and so I never run away from holding
myself accountable. And I think, you know, I think that's
exactly what I've I've taken the approach of doing. You know,
even when I look at this last game and I
(14:38):
take I take a great pride in what we do
on offense. I take great pride and how we go
out there and play as a team and and what
our flow is and so, and we obviously got work
to do. And I think that starts that obviously starts
with me. That's always my approach. That's always me looking
internally first in everything that we do, and then in
(15:00):
due time, rising above.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
What's comforting is that a couple of years back, when
the Eagles were undefeated, still at this point in the season,
Jalen Hurts is still answering questions in that exact same manner.
Now there's a lot of heat right now on the
Phillies offense, on Phillies offense, but their defense has been
in an absolute shutdown unit. Recently, they've allowed just sixteen
total points, shutting out the Packers the Lions, on the
other hand, now they will have to go up against
(15:24):
a Cowboys offense that is feeling themselves after a Monday
night football outing that was one to be reckoned with.
Man Si, Here's the question, this Eagles defense or the
Cowboys offense? Which one are you feeling more heading into
this game?
Speaker 6 (15:37):
Jamie? Which one am I? Which one am I doing?
Speaker 5 (15:40):
Well?
Speaker 6 (15:41):
Jamie Jail.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
You always want to highlight the defense, but that doesn't
make the Cowboys offense.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
I'm asking what are you feeling? More not what do
you want to highlight.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Jamie, Come on, now, it's Egos defense, right, Like it's
so funny that we just talked about the Houston Texans,
Like it's the same story with.
Speaker 6 (15:59):
The Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
You have a struggling offense, but you have a dominant
like when I say dominant, dominant like the games.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
That Jamie just referenced.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Okay, the Green Bay Packers high potent offense, scores a
lot of points. The Detroit Lions, high potent offense scores
a lot of points.
Speaker 6 (16:20):
Whenever they line up.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Against the Philadelphia Egos defense, they look like the Bad
News Bears. Like it looked like they were playing against
a college team.
Speaker 6 (16:28):
Okay, it just.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Didn't look the same. That's how dominant. And it takes
a lot. And Rasha, you know this. It takes a
lot for a pro one pro team to make another
pro team look like they don't belong. And that's what
the Egos defense has done for the past two weeks.
So I'm at the point with this defense, and I'm
confident in saying this, the Philadelphia Egles defense can line
up against almost everybody. I think there's only about two
(16:51):
teams in the NFL right now, that will give this
Philadelphia Egles defense a run. And the one they're lining
the up against this week isn't one of them. And
that's no slight at the Cowboys offense. They're good, but
the level at which Philadelphia Eagles defense is playing guys,
in my opinion, they look just as good as they
did in.
Speaker 6 (17:09):
The Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
They got the pass rush, they got the guys to
cover and the secondary. They're fast and they're smart. They
don't do anything that hurts themselves. When they're supposed to
be outside leverage man on the receiver.
Speaker 6 (17:23):
They stay outside leverage.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
How many teams have we seen jump inside and all
of a sudden a receiver is wide open. That's not
what vic fanjo in this defense does. They stay and
they do their job, and they do it extremely well shoped.
Speaker 6 (17:34):
They do it. They keep everything in front of them. Everything.
Speaker 10 (17:35):
When I look at both of these teams, actually I
use a basketball reference. Somebody gets stolen for this, but
least check it out. I look at the Eagles as
the twenty fourteen Spurs. San Antonio Spurs got some amazing names.
Tim duncan, Tony Parker, Kwhi, Leonard Jannobi. Guys out there
play well together, they perform, they get their w move
(17:58):
on right, they conservative a little bit. But then he
got on the other side, you got the Dallas Cowboys, Mommy.
Speaker 6 (18:02):
A little bit of the Warriors.
Speaker 10 (18:04):
Why because they got the splash brothers over there. You
got Pickens, you got Cedee Lamb, got Dare Prescott out there.
Ferguson's opening up the fields a tight end. Javont Williams.
He is actually top five right now. I don't know
if most people know that. Rushing the football in the
National Football League. And then you got don't forget about
Jerry Jones and post Malone. I always got to throw
them in whenever Cowboys. But both of these teams are
(18:25):
high flying, and if I had to put my brothers
on one of them, give me the offense of the
Dallas Cowboys. They are now finding their path clicking that
you can say they played against the Raiders. Defense was
a little bit more open to four points. But however,
when you perform that way consistently, and now they're over
there talking about the potential playoffs. Now, obviously there's a
(18:47):
long way is to get there. But if I had
to put my hand in a bet on this the
offense versus defense, give me album.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
I got to say something real quick because you just
brought up something I thought was phenomenal. You talk about
the Spurs versus the Golden State Warriors, but you brought
up a specific Spurs team, the Tim Duncan that Genobli.
I remember watching that Spurs team. The thing that I
thought that was so great about them where they were
fundamentally sound sound, And that's what carries over to the
(19:15):
Eagles for me is it's not just a dominant defense,
but it's a defense that's fundamentally sound.
Speaker 6 (19:21):
And when you're fundamentally sound like that, you can't be beat.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Whereas somebody liked the Dallas Cowboys, who you compared to
the Golden State Warriors. You're gonna live and die by
the three. If the three is off that day, you're
gonna lose, and so the Dallas Cowboys if that pass
game is off, which we've seen in the Denver Broncos game,
if that pass game.
Speaker 6 (19:40):
Is off, you gonna lose.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
And so I thought it was brilliant how you made
that that cross right there.
Speaker 9 (19:45):
Shot So sorry, Seth, Yeah, yeah, they were g GMBB.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
Now it just works. Yeah, it does.
Speaker 9 (19:53):
It did fine, It finds its way. But you guys
put me in a tough spot. Here is we got offense,
we got defense. Iun'd like the middleman. I don't know
what to do. I'm rolling with the Cowboys off at home.
Speaker 5 (20:06):
I'm rolling with the offense.
Speaker 9 (20:07):
And I'll tell you, I just think they're finally starting
to click these weapons on the outside between Pickens and
cd Man. You saw it last week against the Raiders.
They were finally I mean they got Javonte Williams. You're right,
and he's gonna set the tone. But when it comes
down to it, Dak is going to sling the ball
to the outside.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
I mean, you have two insane weapons.
Speaker 9 (20:27):
Those are two number ones right there, all right, those
are two number ones, and they're on the same page
and they're rolling. They didn't even play the first drive.
They come out and they have a huge game, and
I think they're gonna be able to carry that momentum over.
Offensive heat is going to take down the defense. I
think this week that's how I feel. Maybe it's just
wish thinking because I love to see the.
Speaker 5 (20:46):
Eagles get beat up, but time will tell. This time
will tell.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
This type of matchup this late in the season really
is one of the examples of how long the season gets,
because these two teams already played once.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
It was Week one.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
We were standing there on the field and how so
much has changed between the Eagles and the Cowboys since then.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
It was a twenty four to twenty game.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
There was the crazy rain delay, there was spinning ceedee,
Lambs had a ton of drops. So well, hopefully there's
some of those dramatic things don't happen necessarily on the field,
but it would be one to watch this weekend. Let's
stick in the NFC with another matchup as the Bucks
travel across the street to Sofi Stadium right outside our building.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Remember back in twenty twenty two when.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Baker Mayfield started four games for the Rams after being
cut by the Panthers. Baker showed up on a short
week on a Thursday night, did what Baker does now
for the Bucks, and a history was born, and he
spoke on what his time spent in LA was like.
Speaker 7 (21:37):
No way for me to you know, Surecoat it that
was pivotal in my career, in my journey. I've told
you guys, that helped me find the football or the
fund and football again, that joy and just getting to
learn from those guys. Obviously, it looks a lot different
now that Raheem Morris has gone Zach Robinson Liam, but
Sean's been there the whole time. So it's yeah, they
helped me out and you know, help me discover what
(21:58):
offense I really want to plan, and you know the
responsibility that comes with in that a lot of account
of the line of scrimmage and the check and get
to the right place. But yeah, it was instrumental in
my career, something I'm forever grateful for. And it'll be
fun to go back and see some familiar faces.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Baker leading the league and likable guys. And so is
that man Aaron Donald?
Speaker 3 (22:19):
All right, so the Rams are going to hand out
the Aaron Donald goat bobblehead this weekend at this game.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
It's so fine.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
That's why the life sized version is standing in our
studio ever so prominent. But don't be distracted by eighty
over there. Okay, we got Rams bucks Mansai.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
What are you looking at in this matchup?
Speaker 1 (22:36):
I think what was so beautiful about last week was
when I look at this Rams team, right, you look
at their offense, that's an offense that I know that
I know that can win you a super Bowl. That defense,
even though they're very, very good, was the biggest question mark.
I would say it was the smallest question mark. If
you had a question mark on the Rams, it was
their defense. They demonstrated last week against the Seattle Seahawks,
(23:00):
who puts up points against everybody, that they too can
win you a super So when I'm looking at this
Rams team, remember I mentioned in the against the Philadelphia Eagles,
there's only certain teams that I think can really give
them a run.
Speaker 6 (23:13):
The La Rams offense is one of them. Like the
La Rams.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Versus the Philadelphia Eagles offense defense is one of those.
Speaker 6 (23:19):
Matchups that I think that it will be beautiful.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
But now after last week, you see what this Rams
defense can do. Chris Shula, the defensive coordinator for them, smart,
has been but don't break mentality, getting turnovers, bowing up
in the red zone. They showed that last week for
the Seattle Seahawks. So that's something that I think is
going to continue throughout the season.
Speaker 6 (23:37):
And again they have another opportunity against the Bucks.
Speaker 9 (23:39):
Yeah, what I'm looking for Man's eye there he is.
I'm looking for that head. That's too good. I love
the facial man.
Speaker 10 (23:51):
Right.
Speaker 9 (23:52):
Yes, I'm looking to see how Baker Mayfield is going
to respond there.
Speaker 5 (23:59):
I mean the Bucks are and there.
Speaker 9 (24:00):
They've had a kind of like a murderer's row of
games here they lost too straight Patriots Bills.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (24:06):
And now they've got a huge divisional game against the Rams. Like,
this is a big game, man bag, Sorry, not divisional
conference game against the Rams. This is a big game.
He's two top seeds in the NFC. They need to win,
and it's gonna be tough for them to go in
there and do that because La is a scout on
both sides of the ball and uh, And I want
to see how Baker responds. He's a clutch performer when
(24:26):
it comes down to it. You love having the ball
in his hand to see if he can win. Now
you've got to see if he can go in crunch
time in a huge game, go off, knock the Rams down,
and see see if you can climb kind.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
Of on in that NFC playoffs.
Speaker 9 (24:39):
So I'm looking forward to see what break Baker brings
to the table and and if he can you know,
you mentioned the Rams defense stepped up last week. Is
Baker going to be able to manage that He's got
weapons on the outside, Godwin and Muka.
Speaker 5 (24:53):
He can get it done. So let's see what happens.
And I love him the unis they win the cream sickles.
Speaker 9 (24:58):
Any chance we can get the cream stickles, I don't
think the chances.
Speaker 10 (25:03):
Love those man, and I love it about this matchup.
It's his two first overall draft picks had ahead. There's
a lot of pride, you know what. They're very similar
in makeup as far as the grit, play through injury,
fiery leader, captains like this is a kind of game.
I think they're going to be looking across the field
at each other and saying, get on.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
A football journey too. What's cool about Stafford.
Speaker 10 (25:24):
And absolutely to find their home exactly And so when
you really look at it, both teams got weapons. But
Baker Mayfield has been productive without Bucky Irvin. He's been
productive without Chris Godwin and Mike Evans.
Speaker 6 (25:37):
If you take.
Speaker 10 (25:38):
Away three of your stars on the offensive side of
the ball and say hey, go play, you're looking at
a different team.
Speaker 6 (25:44):
I mean, I just think about it.
Speaker 10 (25:45):
If you take away Karen Williams, Koku Naku and Devonte
Adams and say, hey, Matthew, go out there and play.
Speaker 6 (25:51):
It could look a little bit different.
Speaker 10 (25:52):
So it comes to who's healthier, who shows up. I'm
excited to see this game. And like I said at
the beginning of the year, I said, whoever's playing out
a sofar stadium, whether it be the Charters or whether
it be the Rams, that's the team that I will
put my money on.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
Well, yeah, you're talking about the Bucks and them needing
to win. They're sitting at six and four, They're they're
leading to NFC South.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Right now, let's look at the playoff picture which.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
The Carolina Panthers, yep, come that are right behind Creeping.
Speaker 6 (26:19):
They're looking very very good. They just they just beat
the Falcons.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
The definition of lurking, Yes.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
The definition of lurking. Panthers lurk a lot in the
wild and then they pounce. Right December might be the
month that they pounce. So if you're talking to your
point shot, they need to they need to win this
game because if they lose, look at where they're sitting
and now they're tied with the Panthers in record, and
that is NFC South Panthers, Bucks tune in, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
What's fascinating about the Panthers.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Not that we're going to go down into this rabbit
hole right now, but they do still play the Niners
and the Seahawks this season, so they are an NFC
West lined up with their schedule down the stretch.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
That's it for the NFC.
Speaker 6 (27:01):
All right, quarterback draw we're up on.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
The guys are going to pick quarterbacks from the AFC
heading into Week twelve.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
That intrigues them most.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
We're gonna hear the quarterback himself, most of them at
least make an argument ahead of their game, and then
the guy gets to pick him.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Apart quarterback drought is Rashad Who's.
Speaker 6 (27:19):
Ooh, no doubt about it.
Speaker 10 (27:21):
Who am I most intriguing in all of America to
see play this week? And without a shadow of a doubt,
it is Shutter. Tell me you do not want to
see him play? Is his opportunity that we've all been
wondering and waiting, right, And you know what, Like AI,
he became not artificial intelligence, but Alan Aferson became the
(27:41):
answer to all the organization's problems.
Speaker 6 (27:44):
I think he is going to become the reason is
going to end up being his name.
Speaker 10 (27:47):
You know why, because everybody wants to know, what's the
reason why he wasn't in first round draft pick?
Speaker 6 (27:52):
What's the reason that he was a fifth he got?
You hate him, you love him? Either way, the underdog.
Speaker 10 (27:57):
Could be on top because he's playing against the Raiders.
Who gives up points an opportunity to start prove who
he is in the NFL. Either way, you're intrigued to
watch them because you have an opinion about them, no
matter what you think, So give me your door.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Sanders does feel finally like a space that we can
get some answers about the guy.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
All right, and let's hear from him.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Though he's a young quarterback, he's up, he's doing the
starting quarterback schedule. Now he's got to go to the meetings,
he's got to have the media availability. So if you're
at Shadoor Sanders and you're at the podium this week
from the Browns, what did he have to say to
answer some of the questions from the media.
Speaker 12 (28:33):
I don't listen to critics. I don't listen to anybody
has to say that's not within the organization, that within
the team, that within the family, or anything. Because It's
like everybody have their own perspectives, but they're not out
there doing it, you know, so or they've done it
in their past life and they time has passed. So
I'm just thankful that I'm living in the president now
have the opportunity to go out there and do the
(28:55):
best I can. Whatevery mistakes, of course, but it wouldn't
be as many mistakes, you know. We're trying to minimize
those most possible.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
The man with the watch celebration is talking about the
past and the president in the future. Rashan speak to
that young man right there and walk them through what.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
A good game for him looks like this weekend.
Speaker 10 (29:13):
A good game is you going out on the field
and playing your game. Don't worry about the critics, like
you already know, go out there and ball out.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
Is you your.
Speaker 10 (29:20):
Team, don't worry about who's the starter, Cam Warris one
in nine, Della Gable one and five, all these other rookies.
Speaker 6 (29:27):
This is your time, your shine to go out there
and prove who you are. Do you think, baby, we
want to see it.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Nice marrying nice, all right? Why don't you pick your quarterback?
Speaker 9 (29:39):
Quarterback back from the AFC man you got a nice
list over here, except that guy.
Speaker 5 (29:44):
We'll worry about him. I'm going with we're talking about goats.
Speaker 9 (29:47):
We got a goat bobblehead on set today. I'm going
to talk about a goat of this generation. Teed up
Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
Yes, yeah, well he has something to say after you
answered some questions this week about their opponent this weekend
and the Colts.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
Let's go.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (30:01):
I mean, I think I've precid for the last few years.
It's like games are a couple of plays here and there.
I mean, there's not a lot of times in this
lea where you're blowing teams out, and so it's there's
a couple of plays here and there that you have
to make. We've been able to make those plays in
these last few years, and we're not doing that this year.
And now it's about giving ourselves more opportunities to make
those plays, and then when we get those opportunities, going
out there and doing it. And so I'm excited for it.
(30:23):
We got a lot of good football teams coming up,
starting off with the Colts, but it's a it's a
great opportunity to go out there and get our season
turned around and get going the right direction.
Speaker 5 (30:32):
Speak on it, sef oh Man.
Speaker 9 (30:35):
Seven straight AFC championship games.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
They have never lost.
Speaker 9 (30:41):
This man has never lost three consecutive games. Pat Mahomes,
let me talk to you, my friend. All right, I
understand you have done it all, MVPs, Super bowls, AFC title.
Speaker 5 (30:55):
You gotta step up and you know that. You know that.
Speaker 9 (30:58):
Let me appeal to the greatness in you. I understand
the mindset you have as a champion. Every game is
pressure failed. You got to step up. Make plays. Those
one score games. This is the NFL. They're all gonna
be one score games, all right. You gotta get down
nitty gritty make plays. At the end of the game.
Numbers don't matter, win the game. You got this, my man.
Speaker 5 (31:21):
You got this. Quarterbacks got this.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
Our quarterback wild segment has become our quarterback motivational speech segment.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
Manta, you are a pick from your.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
List here, Yeah, baby, I like what you guys are,
right back to back, right next to each other. You
doer and you got Patrick Mahomes. I'm gonna drift a
little bit to this side.
Speaker 6 (31:36):
How are you going to drift?
Speaker 5 (31:37):
How far are you coming?
Speaker 6 (31:39):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (31:41):
It's the most intriguing situation, not just Joe Burrow and
in general, just this whole situation.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
There's been this push for return.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Right now, they're sitting at three and seven, they're about
to play the New England Patriots, who looks like one
of the better teams in NFL.
Speaker 6 (31:54):
Right now, you don't have Jamar.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Chase So what intrigues me has been this push to
have him play like you.
Speaker 6 (32:01):
He just came off of a major, major.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Operation with his toe and all of that stuff. So
what's very intriguing is what this means for Joe Burrow, Like,
does Joe Burrow have that It seems like he still
has that edge because he technically doesn't need to play.
Like if you're a franchise quarterback, you have less than
a one percent chance to make it into the into
the playoffs, you still have to play the Ravens twice,
(32:23):
you still have to do a lot of different things,
and you got the New England Patriots this week. It's
intriguing to me that somebody like him will still be
suiting up and gearing up to put his team in
the best position to win. So, Joe Burrow, I applaud you,
but give the ball to Chase Brown. Let that let
that toll warm up a little bit, and then start
to find your your target start because you're going to
be down probably your biggest target in Jamar Chase, but
(32:44):
you still got Ta Higgins, Yosha fash all of those
different things.
Speaker 6 (32:47):
So that's what intrigues me the most. Joe Warm, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Well done, everybody,
