Good Morning Football.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
That's right, this is Good Morning Football. Welcome inside, everybody.
We are presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerkey live in
LA and New York. It's Friday, the final day in January.
Akbar Baja Biamilla Here, Peter Schrager and Kyle Brant in
New York.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
I'm Jamie rd All.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Very busy hour we have, and really we're looking back
at last night's East West Shrine Bowl.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
We got the Senior Bowl this weekend.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
The Pro Bowl games are happening, all in anticipation of
the Super Bowl in New Orleans in about nine days
or so.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
So a lot to get to this hour.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
We have interviews in glore, so let's just start it
right off, all right, shall we We're doing three and out.
We got three topics and we want to make sure
we get.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Through them all.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Sometimes we have a hard time staying on tasks. So
that's why I'm just not letting anybody start to show talking.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
We're going right to it.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Brandon me and spoke about the AFC Championship games, controversial
calls yesterday.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Let's take a listen and then we're gonna.

Speaker 5 (01:11):
Talk about it, you know, if you're talking about like
the fourth down play that was, I feel like he
you know, he got that. And I still feel like
he got that. I felt that in the moment, and
I know, nothing has changed my mind on that, you know.
And and you know, the play that we challenged, I

(01:32):
thought was a good challenge. I think I'm not sure
either player had possession on the Bishop Worthy play. When
the ball touched the ground, you have to you have
to have possession. It's like, what is possession? And what
Matt says his possession might not be what Elena says
is possession, you know what I.

Speaker 6 (01:50):
Mean, it's a little bit.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
But when the ball touches the ground, someone has to
have established possession and they've given how they see it,
and that's their job and and but.

Speaker 7 (02:01):
It is what it is.

Speaker 5 (02:02):
I mean, that's those are just plays we didn't make
in a game too So by no means are we
saying that's why we lost the game.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
A very collected approach by the Bills General manager Brandon
Bean about some of the moments in that AFC title
game that could have sent the Bills to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
They fell short.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Peter, what do you make of Brandon Bean's stance in
the era of hindsight twenty twenty, But he still feel
certain ways about.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Some of those calls.

Speaker 8 (02:29):
If I'm a Bills fan, I love that man, I
love that general manager. I want that man as the
head of my organization, because he is saying exactly what
you want to hear. But he's not being a poor
sport about it. At the end of it, it's a good,
good lesson here for everybody. It's okay to say that
you thought the call was wrong, and it's okay to
say that you believe it should have gone a different way.
But at the end of that moment, he says, but

(02:50):
we could have also made plays, and we could have
won that game, giving grace and giving flowers to the
other side without saying, hey, the refs made the call.

Speaker 7 (02:58):
We just got to go on with it.

Speaker 8 (02:59):
You could tell Brandon Bean's hurtain. It's another year back
and another year that came just short. What's interesting, though,
he's talking about a play that we haven't dissected inside
and out, and the sports media world has not. It's
the worthy Bishop play in which it was a very
interesting call in the moment. So here's Mahomes, it's going here.
It looks like it's in your exception to start, and

(03:20):
then Worthy comes.

Speaker 6 (03:21):
Down with it and they called this a catch.

Speaker 8 (03:23):
They then go to the replay and stereotur comes out
and there's all sorts of things and they eventually score,
but I would have loved to.

Speaker 6 (03:30):
Have seen it.

Speaker 8 (03:32):
You don't get the good angle, and when they do
show the reverse angle, it looks like the ball actually
is not possessed by anybody, like it should be incomplete,
like it should be a complete And they almost went
to the review and they were like, ty Goo's to
the runner.

Speaker 6 (03:43):
We already called this.

Speaker 8 (03:44):
We can't overturn this, which is fascinating because you've learned
that whether we're on ESPN or Fox Sports One or
NFL Network and you're complaining about the Josh Allen fourth
and one, that's fine in the building, there's actually a
different play that they're treating the same way it just
happened earlier in the game. Fascinating to hear the conversation
in the internal monologue that's going on up in Buffalo,

(04:05):
and it's not going to change the game's not going
a different way. So it's unfortunate it's over, but it's
just another play that they're living with that maybe us
at home and us on TV didn't give enough credence
to the last six days.

Speaker 7 (04:16):
Yeah, you know, I think of what Melissa Etheridge, you know,
told us yesterday. You know, just deal with it. This
is one that you know, there's no real way to
kind of look at it. But that play that you're
talking about, you know, in real time watching it, looking
at the replay, you do see the movement in that ball.
I then thought, yeah, the same thing. You can't make
that switchover and then you think about the whole tie

(04:38):
goes to the receiving the receiver in that situation. But
the play that was very interesting to me was just
kind of going back to that fourth and one and
you look at it, and we've seen it all throughout,
everyone's talked about it. But the guy who made the
biggest impact in that fourth and one was Mike Dana
And if you look in I'm looking at the end

(04:58):
zone copy of how he slants in and really stops
Josh Allen from being able to move forward. Josh has
that ball very close to his chest. You can't see
him in this scrum. But when you look at the
end zone copy, it's really clear. Right here, it's really clear.
He doesn't make it over and so I think what
happens TV copy and all the other different angles. Depending

(05:19):
on the angles that you're looking at, it may look
like it. But I was watching this over and over
and over, and I'm going, oh, no, he actually didn't.
So for all those who are out there saying that, like,
oh the controversy, that one actually went the way it
was supposed to. And so again he sees it differently.
Brenda Bean sees it differently. I love his ability to
kind of go out there and like stand on his

(05:40):
ground and what he believes in to protect his team.
But it ain't happening and just deal with it, I
guess h.

Speaker 9 (05:46):
I think the most interesting little dovetail to the end
of that fourth and interesting. We don't have the video,
so I'm gonna act it out. So let's remember the play.
Alan sneaks, he.

Speaker 6 (05:55):
Kind of goes to that left side and get stood up,
all right.

Speaker 9 (05:57):
The official to his left runs in short of the
first down. The official to Alan's right runs in on
the first down right after Josh gets stopped, and the
play is kind of wrapping up as the two officials
are running in on their respective spots.

Speaker 6 (06:11):
He turns and tosses the.

Speaker 9 (06:13):
Ball to the official on the left, as players do
after the play. That official takes it and puts it
down short of the mark. The joke is, or maybe
the truth is, if he had just tossed it to
the other official arbitrarily, who catches it and puts it down,
that official had them at the first down.

Speaker 6 (06:31):
It's an incredible thing that I think might be right.

Speaker 9 (06:34):
He's just he's the first official he saw and he's
used to hear. Here's the ball. Guy catches it, puts
it right down. Their season's over. It's a crazy thing
if you go back and look at it that if
he had just been looking right and tossed like that,
I think they get the first down. So it's just
this random decision that would have been hugely supported by video.
But you've seen the play enough times, it's wild to
me that that's how that went down.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
And as that official comes in on Josh's left, there
is a Kansas City Chiefs player that approaches him, and
people are arguing online that actually derails the official back
a yard because he's coming at him like this, and
so the officials like whoa, and it actually moves him
off the line of scrimmage and then he receives Josh
Allen's toss.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
It is crazy. This is a bruter film.

Speaker 7 (07:15):
And the other thing too. You notice when you go
back and look at it too, they don't bring out
the chain. I'm like, why didn't they bring out the
chains in that situation? And then even four plays beforehand,
you think Josh Allen actually converts a Toush push, but
he goes up and over. Anyways, we could dissect this
thing on and on and on, but you're right, You're
absolutely right. The way he moved around brought out the chain.

Speaker 8 (07:35):
There's a contrarian take here about all these fourth down
short plays, whether it be the Toush push or whether
it be that one with Alan in that the offense
has such an advantage in that play that you got
all the positive momentum, all the inergy you hold the ball,
that if it's not clear you got a first down.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
You shouldn't get the benefit of the down.

Speaker 8 (07:54):
Like every bit of advantage goes to the offense in
fourth and goal or fourth and one or fourth and two.
You're the ones moving with all the force. You're the
ones who control it. If it's not clear that you
got the first down, then you didn't get it.

Speaker 7 (08:07):
I did it take And.

Speaker 8 (08:08):
That's from defensive coaches saying, you know what, if it's
even an inch close, like you didn't get it, you
should get that first.

Speaker 9 (08:15):
I'll help with Peter and push back to is. At
that point in that game, I hated the play call.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
I really did. It wasn't working for them that night.
It was ugly.

Speaker 9 (08:23):
It had been stopped before, even the one where Josh
went over the top. The ball comes loose at the end.
All of the energy with all the quarterbacks neak push
push stuff for the Bills was off that night. And
then I feel like there should have been an awareness
in the middle of the game to pivot away from it, saying, look,
the Chiefs are up to something. They got us figured
out on this. We always go to the left. They
submarine the left side. We can't get through there. We

(08:44):
got a fourth in inches, we got James Cook. Let's
either give it to him, let's roll Josh, Let's do
anything other than just put our heard head down and
do it again. I think there was an inability to
pivot in the middle of the game plan in the
middle of the game, and.

Speaker 6 (08:56):
That's what the best do best, and I don't think
they did all right.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Speaking of pivoting, let's go to the second down, three
and out. Last year, Kyle's wearing that throwback jersey. Kyle
gets to go to the Pro Bowl hot Te, Kyle
thinks is better than the Super Bowl. That's one that
somebody could argue with him about. But he goes to
the Pro Bowl every year and he takes one picture
with one guy. Kyle, how did you approach this and
who is that man? And tell the quick story?

Speaker 6 (09:19):
All right?

Speaker 9 (09:20):
That is the legend Penney School of the Detroit Lions.
And for the entire two day experience, I'm constantly around
all of the coolest, youngest NFL superstars, and I don't
take pictures of them. I just don't like taking pictures
with celebrities. It could be an actor I see at
a restaurant. I don't like to do that. I just
like to give them the space and everything. But I
pick one player who I think represents good morning football.

(09:40):
And last year the Lions were really ascending and they
had this really cool offensive Lineman that I said, Penny
soul is gonna be my guy, one guy that I'm
gonna take.

Speaker 6 (09:48):
A picture with.

Speaker 9 (09:48):
None of these quarterbacks or wide receivers. I'll give them
their space. But I went up to Penn and I said, Penney,
I'm taking one picture.

Speaker 6 (09:54):
Can I take?

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (09:55):
Man, come here, and we got down on the ground.

Speaker 6 (09:56):
It took one.

Speaker 9 (09:57):
So that brings us to the question this week, jamieans
go ahead.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
We have one player that we are supposed to either
guess and or hope that Kyle takes his.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
One photo win.

Speaker 6 (10:07):
I'll get it.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Either get it, Okay, Peter, everybody has an idea. At
the table, we present our case and Kyle's going to
pack his bags and our ideas and go to Orlando.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Peter, who's your player?

Speaker 8 (10:16):
Well, last night at the Pro Bowl Games reimagined by Verizon,
we were watching all these events and there was this
hardest spike contest. So think about the biggest guys in
the league had to spike it almost like you had
the sledgehammer and you're doing the thing. Yea, and Quinn
Williams wins it. But there was a guy who I thought, Kyle,
you will be best friends with this guy, Joel Botonio

(10:37):
gets up there, and I don't know if we have
footage of it from last night.

Speaker 7 (10:40):
Antonio gets up that.

Speaker 6 (10:41):
Look at Joel Botonio here, such a.

Speaker 8 (10:47):
Man man, and I had to get it as if
it was like the strongest thing.

Speaker 6 (10:52):
Joe Botonio gets in there, and that is Kyle.

Speaker 8 (10:54):
I think you would be best friends with him, Nevada guy,
longtime Brown. I just want a picture of Botonio and
Brandt together, the B and B boys, almost like the Bushwhackers.

Speaker 6 (11:04):
Two of you guys.

Speaker 8 (11:05):
Would get along great, Joe Buttonio and my guy Kyle.

Speaker 9 (11:09):
So o bar before you go, Let's let's clarify what
we want here?

Speaker 6 (11:12):
Is this marching orders?

Speaker 9 (11:13):
I got to get all these guys or we're just
because I only want to get one?

Speaker 6 (11:19):
Sure I might have my own.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Jamis, I thought you said you already had your idea.
I thought we were either we're guessing or you were like,
pitch it. So do you want us to be guessing
right now? Who we think it should be or who
we want it to be? Want it to be whatever
you want?

Speaker 9 (11:29):
Jamie, Like, it's just if you think it's a guest,
go ahead.

Speaker 6 (11:32):
I want to follow with Paton.

Speaker 9 (11:33):
Here's my deal. I have one in mind. I do,
and if you want to guess who this is fine.
But also, like Peter just made a good case for
me to switch.

Speaker 8 (11:41):
If you can get an R wrestling video with like
with Potonio, I would absolutely love that.

Speaker 9 (11:45):
All right, let's bear this out, Akbar, Who do you
think I want?

Speaker 6 (11:48):
Or who do you want?

Speaker 7 (11:49):
You know what? Who do I want and who I'm guessing?
They're both the same. I can see because you've always
been this thematic guy. You just love these different themes
and you intertwine stuff. I think one of your favorite
pictures from this season was when James Cook at the
pot in front of him from the Angry Run in
that whole thing, And I could really see you going

(12:10):
up there to the Pro Bowl with maybe like one
of them chef's hat or something like that and doing
a selfie with James Cook. I'm going James Cook for you.
Go find out James cook Man and let Kyle Brand
cook Man, let him cook if.

Speaker 6 (12:22):
I know be there.

Speaker 9 (12:23):
And I love Jimbo and I could get that. That's
a great suggestion. And Jamie, I feel like you have
an energy in this segment where you really like yours,
Like you're jumping up and down on the seat, and
I've been there before.

Speaker 6 (12:34):
So tell us what you got. I can't I can't
wait to hear it.

Speaker 9 (12:36):
I love James Cook and I love Antonio, but erdal
go ahead.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
I've spent far too much time just listening to everybody,
watching your body language, trying to understand you. So when
it comes to segments like this, I take it as
a personal challenge to get it right and to try
to make my case. So, Kyle, I've thought a lot
about this, that you have this one guy as it.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Pertains to Angry Runs.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
It's important to you, and we also know that you
like to tell stories, and when you do, you kind
of like the dramatic reaction from all of us, like
here's the selfie.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Oh my god, I kill it.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
I have a guy who is the one representative from
Angry Runs history, from one of the most classic franchises
in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Roll it.

Speaker 6 (13:14):
Did he get the scepter? Did the cowboys ever get
the scepter? Maybe they've never gotten one before. They don't
know how to send it back to us.

Speaker 10 (13:20):
How about it?

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Right on the star Cavante looking mean looking Shud look
at the shirt.

Speaker 6 (13:26):
It looks like a nightdown and I absolutely love it.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
On the stone, Kyle, I think you're going to seek
out Cavante Turpin and I think that's your guy you're
going to take the picture with.

Speaker 6 (13:34):
It's fantastic.

Speaker 9 (13:35):
Kamante Turpin from the Cowboys is about one hundred and
sixty pounds. He's one of the smallest players in the NFL.
He's definitely the smallest player to ever win Angry Runs.
But he's a fantastic football player. He's always been, not always.
I've said this for about three or four years. He's
my favorite Cowboy. They've had fantastic players. I love Camante Turpin.
He will be at the Pro Bowl. And now I
have a decision to make.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
Guys.

Speaker 9 (13:55):
I have my principles where I only will go up
to one player and bother them for a picture.

Speaker 6 (13:59):
But then I just got really three, really good name
and I like that.

Speaker 9 (14:02):
It's not get a picture with Joe Buru love Borough,
but like I like an altera choice Turpin, Jimbo and
Joel Patonio from the Browns, a Browns lineman.

Speaker 10 (14:13):
Guys.

Speaker 6 (14:14):
Who knows what I'll.

Speaker 9 (14:14):
Come back with, but I'm going right after the show.
It's in LaGuardia and I will get something, I promise, Okay.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
I also love the fact that Kyle flies on that
vintage nineteen ninety five Pro Bowl jersey.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
And there's no shame in that. There's no shame.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Now it's a conversation starter, but don't engage in the conversation.

Speaker 11 (14:29):
Still the cup.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
We'll be joined by Wes Wilson.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
Wes Wilson, you know him from Bravo's Summerhouse.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
He also loves the Chiefs. Kyle. Is he in studio
or is he coming to New York?

Speaker 11 (14:40):
All love him?

Speaker 10 (14:41):
With Burrow?

Speaker 6 (14:42):
Peter, go ahead, Oh there's the Burrow with all You
actually one of these guys. Oh my god, that the
guys actually want to hang with. So yeah, we're gonna
get in here.

Speaker 10 (14:49):
We're gonna talk about what it's like.

Speaker 8 (14:51):
He also works for Complex, Big Chiefs Man.

Speaker 7 (14:53):
He's gonna talk some smack that that.

Speaker 6 (14:54):
He's very very tight with Joel Potonio.

Speaker 10 (14:56):
We'll talk about it with him.

Speaker 6 (14:57):
But you know, it's everybody plus all right.

Speaker 9 (15:00):
One of the more memorable Probo Bowl games ever was
from two thousand and five.

Speaker 8 (15:04):
Guys, there were the time in Hawaii, where three of
the greatest quarterbacks of all time we're on the same
team in the Pro Bowl. We have unearthed the miked
up footage and we're gonna go back.

Speaker 6 (15:16):
Twenty years to relimit.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
So cool, Good morning football.

Speaker 8 (15:30):
One of the great joys and benefits of working for
the NFL Media Group is that we have archives from
years past that no one else can access, but that
we can. And sometimes it's amazing regular season game, sometimes
it's incredible postseason finishes, and other times it's miked up
Pro Bowl footage from twenty years ago. Yes, miked up

(15:50):
Pro Bowl footage from twenty years ago. And why do
I want to show it? Because in the two thousand
and five Pro Bowl, the three AFC quarterbacks were Peyton Manning,
Tom Bradyton and Drew Brees of the then San die
Go Chicks. No further ado, Let's enjoy look back twenty
years ago and some miked up footage from three of

(16:12):
the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

Speaker 12 (16:15):
This is the only time ever that these guys were
all on the same team.

Speaker 10 (16:19):
From good out here? Why these out there? It's nice
and hair.

Speaker 12 (16:22):
The AFC Pro Bowl squad following the two thousand and
four season had the league's MVP, the Super Bowl champion to.

Speaker 13 (16:32):
De sout out of it by Let's go on Films,
and a relative unknown out of San Diego.

Speaker 10 (16:38):
Break brings Man.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
It's great to have you with us on another perfect
day in Paradise.

Speaker 10 (16:49):
All of the quarterbacks.

Speaker 12 (16:50):
Mike hell out like it out of San Diego, Peyton Manning,
Tom Brady threw breeds wired for the Pro Bowl, Carl.
We could only tap into one wire at a time.
Pregame we focused on Brady's.

Speaker 10 (17:07):
I'm Danny, ay you doing. It's gonna be fun today.
We got a good team, all right, Troy Fright, we
want catching up. Bit I'm going on right. I don't
live creep back there that as well. Don't let us
sit down and try to hide. My cats are just
like Rudy's.

Speaker 7 (17:23):
Just like Rudy's.

Speaker 6 (17:25):
Easy.

Speaker 14 (17:26):
Please pick up this.

Speaker 10 (17:27):
Just the little issallation you guys did to Lingo. Yeah,
not too hard. I mean everybody's got the same play.
You just call him different. You like you too?

Speaker 12 (17:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (17:34):
Hello, are you saying that's your favorite man?

Speaker 10 (17:36):
For you too?

Speaker 6 (17:36):
I think I saw someone saying your food.

Speaker 10 (17:38):
Yeah, I love you too. I got a lot I
love cold play too.

Speaker 6 (17:43):
I'm gonna tell it you guy myself.

Speaker 10 (17:46):
Yeah, talk is good. You up, get over here, get
over here.

Speaker 7 (17:50):
I have a clock in your head.

Speaker 12 (17:52):
Manning was the starter following his Den record breaking forty
nine touchdown past season.

Speaker 7 (17:57):
You got under under run.

Speaker 12 (17:59):
And he quickly connected with a familiar face. One hundred
and fourteen touchdown passes from Manning with the Cools.

Speaker 13 (18:12):
Marvin Harrison from Breyton Manning touchdown.

Speaker 8 (18:16):
How many times have you said that, Mike A lot,
that's got some more skinnies.

Speaker 10 (18:21):
I guess right, huh, oh my god, did.

Speaker 15 (18:24):
Before I think that kind of pasky Hey, hey, hey, good.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Job man, good job.

Speaker 10 (18:31):
I'm good readings thrown.

Speaker 7 (18:32):
Some more skinnies.

Speaker 10 (18:34):
I guess that's they're good.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
That's what happened.

Speaker 16 (18:37):
Good good, thank you go read hey Boyd's no whoo twenty.

Speaker 7 (18:55):

Speaker 10 (18:58):
Hey, good John, call good tell good shot.

Speaker 13 (19:01):
You're talking.

Speaker 10 (19:02):
I hope he sees that boats.

Speaker 15 (19:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:04):
He got right off my stone. He was weak.

Speaker 10 (19:07):
What do you do?

Speaker 15 (19:07):
He was back pelle and then twisted he was He
jumped the hot he went they were behind, he jumped
in f I was like, I was like, we'll be
your far zero one seventy four slam wheel on one
gun hard gun hard.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
He rows to Gates, touchdown, three touchdowns.

Speaker 11 (19:34):
One you threw to your teammate Marvin Harrison.

Speaker 15 (19:36):
Are you looking on the right, you see Marvin Harrison?

Speaker 10 (19:38):
On the left is hinds war.

Speaker 15 (19:39):
Oh maybe maybe they're conade.

Speaker 10 (19:41):
I'll throw the Gonzales or.

Speaker 7 (19:42):
Games got.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Great for all everybohizing I'm done.

Speaker 10 (19:51):
I'm done, And of course they rotate the quarterbacks.

Speaker 12 (19:54):
The three quarterbacks combined to win ten Super Bowls. At
this point in time, Brady had won three of his seven.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Right, that is a Rocks star in professional sports. Right there, ready,
twenty s.

Speaker 14 (20:10):
Brady to throw one first down.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
He warn't the screen Richardson.

Speaker 10 (20:16):
You don't slot out of you boy. I don't need
you coming like that.

Speaker 11 (20:20):
He was on a first name basis with everyone.

Speaker 13 (20:22):
John Tony Hey Roy good cats he Tony boy, good runs, right.

Speaker 11 (20:27):
Boy, including the guy who caught this one.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Twenty throws this little net center sept jop.

Speaker 6 (20:37):
By lead out the shepherd.

Speaker 10 (20:41):
Yeah fine jump, I thought of stupid.

Speaker 17 (20:46):
We're going to second sound zero slide out QB sneak
right second sound.

Speaker 10 (20:50):
Ready.

Speaker 12 (20:52):
Brady had his trademark quarterback sneak ready and competitive streaks.

Speaker 10 (21:03):
Quarter fell to work.

Speaker 11 (21:05):
He might still be talking about that interception.

Speaker 10 (21:09):
I still can't believe we don't pick that ball.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Drew Brees in a quarterback.

Speaker 12 (21:14):
When you're on a team with Manning and Brady and
Hall of famers all over the field, go zero on.

Speaker 6 (21:20):
Ride thirty four free flicker from one.

Speaker 11 (21:22):
It's as good a time as any to show you belong.

Speaker 6 (21:26):
They went out and drafted Philip Rivers to replace a ninety.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
He's taught that challenge off.

Speaker 10 (21:33):
Braz makes the catch and watch the catch.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
Breeze, mates, look at that one ended ground, that's out.

Speaker 13 (21:45):
Who we go? Hey seven paul on a seven pauline five.

Speaker 6 (21:55):
Breeze.

Speaker 7 (21:57):
The songs goes up to.

Speaker 13 (21:59):
Make the cats.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
I shot brother?

Speaker 14 (22:02):
Who there down?

Speaker 13 (22:06):
Tom warn simmer game, Hey big on, little boy, just
give me a chance.

Speaker 10 (22:16):
Right, Hey, I'm out of you man. That's good job,
Thank you, thanks er.

Speaker 7 (22:22):
Thank you.

Speaker 6 (22:23):
I don't like it, understand here you go, that's frank.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Yeah, that must.

Speaker 13 (22:30):
Try riding that cat.

Speaker 7 (22:36):
You John on the same diego.

Speaker 6 (22:39):
Say, hey, that'd be kind of cool if we play
with the same NFL team.

Speaker 10 (22:41):
Sure enough to your job the same NFL team.

Speaker 6 (22:43):
And you know it's the rest is history.

Speaker 12 (22:46):
History is what these three may and the snapshot of
their one game together, it is amazing. They combined to
throw for one hundred and eighty four thousand, six hundred
and seventy nine yards and one thousand, three hundred and
sixty five touchdowns.

Speaker 10 (23:03):
After this game, tiny loops. Today, it seems like it's
harder and hard as.

Speaker 16 (23:09):
The years go on.

Speaker 12 (23:10):
They competed for Super Bowl after Super Bowl, often ending
each other's seasons.

Speaker 11 (23:17):
But for this one moment in time, you they were teammates.

Speaker 12 (23:27):
The best group of qbs ever assemble. Now that's some
history worth holding on to it.

Speaker 10 (23:38):
I'm gonna keep it. Well, I'm gonna keep it.

Speaker 6 (23:43):
I'm gonna keep it any ship. What a cool clip.

Speaker 8 (23:45):
Thank you NFL Films, Thank you to Chris of Thompson
who voiced that piece for NFL Films Presents, and thank
you for the NFL Social who put that out and
we were able to use for our show.

Speaker 6 (23:54):
Uh My big takeaway is all the faces.

Speaker 8 (23:56):
Of course the quarterbacks, but seeing Jerome Bettetts, Ladanian, Tomlinson,
Marvin Harrison, and of course Antonio Gates, Antony Gonzalez, which
is so cool, and to relive that twenty years later
and to know where those guys in their careers went
after that point.

Speaker 6 (24:11):
Peter, you like you too, I like you too.

Speaker 9 (24:14):
I like cold Player, I like Metallica, Yeah, Metallicas listen,
cold Play had just cleaned up at the Grammys.

Speaker 6 (24:20):
That was like a Russia blood to the head.

Speaker 9 (24:21):
After that, I just look at Brady and Manning in
the first bite we see there as we're talking about
the weather, like, it's just it's a little bit awkward.
They had no idea, maybe they did, how much was
to come between the two of those over the decade
that followed, and that's biblical stuff.

Speaker 6 (24:35):
And now they're just playing catchup.

Speaker 8 (24:37):
Breeze beats Manning in a Super Bowl in about five years.

Speaker 9 (24:40):
Yeah, it is very very cool. And then at the
usual trimmings of just players that I haven't thought about
for a while. There was a quick Rudy Johnson's sighting
in the back.

Speaker 6 (24:47):
There some great ones.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
What do you think, Kevin, Why you see the Tequio spikes?
There were some really good names. I was actually just
sitting there mesmerized because we don't see that anymore, you know,
the Pro Bowl, you know, was the thing that I
know I looked forward to as a fan, as a player,
just to kind of see those guys putting together that
dream team. It was a dream team. To see those
guys and the fact that even looking at the pecnic quarter,

(25:11):
who starts of course you give it to then Peyton
Manning and then Tom and you look at their careers.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
It was really cool.

Speaker 7 (25:16):
I wish I wish they bring that back, maybe just
one more time, just one more time, maybe played in Dubai.
Make it really interesting for people. You know, they we're
trying to do global you know, you know, spreading the
game around, but I think that would be cool. Do
it somewhere cool where guys would go, you know what,
I'll turn up for that game.

Speaker 3 (25:30):
I like the athleticism of the one handed catch by Breeze, like, hello,
Drew Brees, I'm the snapback. That was fantastic. I appreciate
that type of footage. I like seeing all those guys.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
But I like the newly reimagined games because.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
I find that in a helmet sport, you know those Mannings,
the Brady's, the Breezes, but now it allows guys to
take the helmet off and really be identifiable players. And like,
there are guys in those Pro Bowl games from years
that we just didn't get to know any better, didn't
move the needle. That's awesome, but I like how it
is now. I can appreciate both, Peter.

Speaker 9 (26:02):
I just I think we're still there a few years
down the line, especially for our kids when they're not
going to believe that we used to play a tackle
football game in the Pro Bowl.

Speaker 6 (26:11):
It's so crazy to me that those.

Speaker 9 (26:12):
Guys a rather ma I already ran a quarterback sneak
and the Pro Bowl you have Brady put his head
now and going into the teeth of the D line.
One of my favorite conversations I had last year at
the Pro Bowl was with Lane Johnson. And Lane Johnson,
I said, man, Lane, you've been in these a long time.
He goes, yeah, Man, I went to these when he
used to play a real football game. I was like,
what was that like, He's like, he named it. He
named a pass rusher that he had to block.

Speaker 10 (26:34):
And he's like, and this.

Speaker 9 (26:35):
Guy's going all out trying to win MVP for the
cameras and I got to block them. The player he
named is exactly who you think he named, but I'm
not going to say it on the air, but it
was like the old ones know that they used to
play a real game.

Speaker 6 (26:45):
It's still crazy to me. It's awesome to have footage
of it.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
We have been chatting with this man all season long.
Well it's the big time now put the helmets on.
We have the executive director of the Reese's Senior Bowl
back on our show, Jim Naggy.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
It is this weekend.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
Jim.

Speaker 6 (27:02):
How you doing.

Speaker 14 (27:02):
Yeah, let's go all right, guys, good to see you again.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
I can imagine you are thrilled that this is unfolding
this weekend for you. Finally, you and your colleagues have
been working tirelessly to get ready for tomorrow Senior Bowl.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
Bring us inside the tent here.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
What's the scene right now in Mobile in anticipation of
this year's game.

Speaker 18 (27:18):
Yeah, Jamie, it's been an awesome week. It is a
culmination of a lot of hard work from a lot
of people. Staff did a great job. The city's put
on a great show. We've gotten lucky with the weather.

Speaker 6 (27:28):
You know.

Speaker 14 (27:29):
A week ago we had seven inches of snow down
here at Mobile and we had to wait.

Speaker 18 (27:33):
We had to wait for mother nature to let a runner,
of course, and get the field cleared and get it painted.

Speaker 14 (27:39):
But it's been a great week. The weather week's been incredible.
You guys have seen that.

Speaker 18 (27:43):
We've had unbelievable competition on the field, a lot of
guys that have helped themselves.

Speaker 14 (27:47):
So here we are getting ready to roll in the
game day tomorrow.

Speaker 8 (27:50):
Yeah, and you know how much the Senior Boll means
to us as a show and also for the draft.

Speaker 6 (27:54):
It really does start in Mobile.

Speaker 7 (27:56):
And that's not just a slogan.

Speaker 10 (27:58):
This is where all.

Speaker 8 (27:59):
Thirty two teams are for the week, and all thirty
two teams are looking at players.

Speaker 7 (28:03):
I know though, it's more than a game.

Speaker 8 (28:05):
Take us through the events of the next thirty six
hours where we can really anticipate what we're getting out
of Mobile, Alabama.

Speaker 14 (28:12):
Yeah, Peter, you were down here last year.

Speaker 18 (28:14):
We had Counting Crows play the concert tonight.

Speaker 14 (28:16):
Thank God.

Speaker 18 (28:17):
Like I said, we got all rain pushing through right now.
We got our Marti Gral parade tonight with the guys.
Well before that, we've got an Awards Player Awards thing
at Top Golf.

Speaker 14 (28:25):
We're gonna be awarding all the guys in these WW Felts.

Speaker 7 (28:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 18 (28:30):
Yeah, we got the Marty Grol Parade at six o'clock
and that's going to be ruled into our our concert.

Speaker 14 (28:36):
This year, we went country for the first time. It
took it.

Speaker 18 (28:38):
It took Okay in Movie to Alabama six years to
finally go country. But we've got the Eli Young Sammy
Kirkshaw at eight o'clock tonight downtown Cathedral Square.

Speaker 14 (28:47):
So a lot going on.

Speaker 7 (28:48):
That's that's a lot of fun. That seems like you
guys got a stack schedule there.

Speaker 6 (28:52):
You know.

Speaker 7 (28:52):
The other day we were talking about Dylan Gabriel throwing
the ball almost seventy five miles an hour. That's some
serious hea. This dude could throw probably a strawberry through
a battleship. That's a lot. But you got to tell
me something because you guys did something. His helmet was
also something else, bringing a lot of attention. I want
to show your tweet because he put three logos on

(29:14):
the helmet. What went into the decision and making this
a reality? That was pretty cool.

Speaker 18 (29:20):
Yeah, that's that's all on Dylan. I think some of
the helmet stuff has been really cool. When Jalen Hurts
was down here, we had bry Dell make a split Oklahoma,
Alabama held it. We raffled it off for charity, got
like five thousand dollars for it that year.

Speaker 14 (29:34):
But Dylan did this. I mean his is wearable, Jalen Hurts.
This was not a wearable helmet.

Speaker 7 (29:38):
This is this is all.

Speaker 18 (29:39):
This is all Dylan, and I think it's really cool,
like him honoring you know, the three places he's been.
He's had a really cool college football journey, three schools,
three different parts of the country.

Speaker 14 (29:49):
So yeah, man, that's all on him.

Speaker 9 (29:51):
It is really really cool and it's just part of
like some of the color that makes this event so fun.
I have to say the legiment's about the players. There's
gonna be a lot of them, but we've seen guys
over the years come and dominate and show out and
improve their draft stock.

Speaker 6 (30:02):
Give us a list of.

Speaker 9 (30:03):
Someone or some people that maybe people at home should
have their eye on or a little under the radar.
Just take it wherever you want. Who are the things
you're looking forward and we should as well.

Speaker 18 (30:11):
Yeah, Kyle, this morning, I just got done sending thirty
two texts out to a front office member of all
thirty two teams and about twenty some have gotten.

Speaker 14 (30:19):
Back and it's for our player of the week, our
overall player of the week.

Speaker 18 (30:23):
And right now, Gray's Abel, the offensive lineman from North
Dakota State is in the league. We've had some other
buys and offensive lineman like Cody Mauch a couple of
years ago come down here and have great weeks and grays. Abel,
I think is really solidified himself as a first rounder.
And your showing clips here like Elijah Arroyo from Miami
is a guy that's been one of our staff favorites
the entire fall. He's had a great week himself. And

(30:44):
I would like to mention Jack Pesh. You know, so
tom Ernold Lee was down here. He's doing a special
on Jack Besh, who tragically lost his brother Tiger and
the terror tacks on New Year's Eve on Bourbon Street,
and so they're going to air that on the Super
Bowl pregame show on Fox. And not to get lost
in all that, Jack has had an unbelievable week on
the field as well, Right.

Speaker 8 (31:04):
Jim, we're going to be watching I don't want to
go from that tragedy to something so light, But one
of our favorite parts is the actual broadcast, it goes
a little off the rails and we have some fun.

Speaker 6 (31:13):
And one of our.

Speaker 8 (31:13):
Favorite characters is that giant, life size Reese's Peanut butter
Cups mascot. Will he be in attendance? Can we get
a look at old Racing again this weekend?

Speaker 14 (31:22):
Yes, his name is Cuppy. Yeah, he's a Cuppy.

Speaker 18 (31:26):
Yes, you know, that's one of the fun things we've
done over the years. We bring all the college mascots in.
You know, we have about you know, fifteen college mascots.
Were really kind of feel like we're the only thing
that mashes up college and NFL and college football, and
the mascots are a fun way to do it. And yeah,
Cuppy's going to be down here. I know the pop
Tart mascot gets a lot of love, but we're more

(31:47):
partial the Cuffy down here.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
As you should be.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
The Pop Tart mascot changes its flavor of the year.
You always know what you get with the Reese's Peanut
butter Cup, and you always know what you get with
the Senior Ball. Jim Maggie, thank you so much. Congratulations
again on having an awesome roster, and I hope the
event goes great for you guys on Saturday.

Speaker 14 (32:03):
Yeah, thanks guys. Great to see again absolutely.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
Next year this weekend.

Speaker 19 (32:09):
Yeah copy, Good morning football, Welcome back to GMFB.

Speaker 8 (32:25):
We are here with an awesome guest and you know
what team he's supporting.

Speaker 6 (32:29):
You know him from Bravo's Summer House.

Speaker 8 (32:31):
He's also a producer and a host at Complex, used
to work at Bleacher Report and nose Ball. Former college
football player himself, mister Wes Wilson.

Speaker 6 (32:43):
I'm stoked you're excited to Yeah, Wes, you are. You're
repping the Chiefs right now.

Speaker 8 (32:48):
How do you feel about the three P and how
it's looking right now as we head to New Orleans.

Speaker 17 (32:53):
I've stopped questioning Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid a while ago.
I was a little nervous for the Bills game, but
then they just get it done and it's almost it's
I just let them do what they need to do.
I don't even really have to worry about stress free.
It's still Super Bowl, so it's not stress free. But
I mean, why think they'll do anything other than get
it done?

Speaker 7 (33:12):
Now?

Speaker 9 (33:12):
I know you know, yes, we earlier in the show,
we played the last Chiefs Eagle Super Bowl Yeah, a
few years ago. It's wild to look at too, because
the Kelsey's weren't like major celebrities yet, they were just
really good football players. There was no tailor, there was
none of that, and there's it's not now we have
arrived at this place with the Chiefs where they're being
looked at as villains by many and it's the evil
empire honor. It's changed a lot. Yeah, what's your response

(33:34):
to that as a guy who's been there from the beginning.

Speaker 17 (33:37):
At this point, there's a Rico Richie song called if
you ain't got no haters, you ain't pop them.

Speaker 6 (33:41):
So I welcome them now.

Speaker 17 (33:43):
And I hated the Patriots when I was in junior
high college, high school.

Speaker 6 (33:48):
So I welcome it.

Speaker 17 (33:49):
And I think the Chiefs they need something else to
get it going out. I mean, you need new things
to kind of keep you motivated. And Kelsey said it
like has brought them closer. Yeah, so I'll welcome when
you hear it.

Speaker 9 (34:00):
Like a lot of that comes from the idea that
they get the calls or they got the officials.

Speaker 6 (34:03):
How do you thank you? Guys?

Speaker 7 (34:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 17 (34:06):
Are we not all mature enough to know to know
that stuff's not really like, what are we doing the
community as a society?

Speaker 2 (34:14):
Like watch a game for what?

Speaker 17 (34:16):
You watch the Chiefs a lot because they're on national television.
Every game has a call, go this way, go that way.
You don't like the Chiefs, so it makes you angry.
Instead of reflecting that your team's not as good, you
blame the officials.

Speaker 6 (34:28):
It's a loser mentality. Let's move on and grow up.
Look at the man in the mirror.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
It's crazy, guys.

Speaker 6 (34:34):
Come on, and the NFL has so much to lose.
Let's be adults. That's not come on, let's be adults.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Let's be adults.

Speaker 9 (34:40):
If they get a huge call in the Super Bowl,
people are gonna lose their minds.

Speaker 6 (34:43):
I know they're gonna lose their minds.

Speaker 9 (34:44):
I know.

Speaker 6 (34:45):
I like, yeah, let's go no flags and see who
gets it done.

Speaker 17 (34:49):
As you one considered that their team is maybe not
as well coached as an Indy Reid coach.

Speaker 6 (34:53):
Like there is zillion things. It's a salient point. Why
one more thing to say? If the bad Yes, do
you can you tell?

Speaker 17 (35:01):
I've been sitting on this for you better rip baby?
Hush Allen QB sneaky. It's kind of like a reverse ball,
don't lie. Didn't they run in the second quarter?

Speaker 6 (35:09):
Didn't work? They ran the same play again, couldn't get
half a yard?

Speaker 2 (35:14):
Call a better play.

Speaker 6 (35:16):
You don't deserve that first down anyways.

Speaker 17 (35:18):
Have yet to see a still frame that even showed
the ball get it crossed?

Speaker 6 (35:21):
Like? Grow up? And if you think I'm talking about you,
I am what do you got?

Speaker 20 (35:27):
I'm so glad we're able to like, I feel like
we're able to get that off your chest.

Speaker 6 (35:30):
I see you, Oh man, I feels so good.

Speaker 10 (35:32):
In the heart there.

Speaker 20 (35:33):
But again there's this Chiefs fatigued narrative and the villains.
You kind of made your point there, But do you
feel like, why should we be rooting for the Chiefs
on Sunday? As you mentioned it, it's the rest fault
they always win, but we should still be rooting for them?

Speaker 6 (35:47):
Right?

Speaker 17 (35:48):
Why I could say root for the Chiefs if you
love you know, great barbecue, best in the world.

Speaker 6 (35:55):
I think, personally, the most lovable.

Speaker 17 (35:56):
Head coach in the NFL, the sweetest guy, live, nice people,
funny people. Today kis Paul Rudd, the best stadium in
the NFL. But I I am ready for the haters now,
don't root for the Chiefs.

Speaker 6 (36:08):
Don't come on now.

Speaker 17 (36:09):
I don't want that. Stay at home root for whoever
you want. I don't need you neither as Mahomes either
as Kelsey.

Speaker 6 (36:18):
But it's in lovable little Midwest team. Like it's not
a big market either, Missouri. It's Missouri. Thank you people.
Also people Day's Kansas take notes. Yeah, so I don't
need you if you need commencing by Wes.

Speaker 7 (36:31):
What's up?

Speaker 15 (36:31):
Man?

Speaker 7 (36:32):
Hey, look you and see what's up? Good to see you.
And we spent some time going to some football games
earlier this season. And I know all about you being
a fan for for the Chiefs, but I want to
talk about the bad times because there are a lot
of teams who are going through some bad times right now.
You know, you think back, you know you've been a
lifelong Chiefs fan two thousand and sevens the Eights's some
bad years, man, Like you've been them with them through

(36:54):
the bad times. How did you how did you go
through those bad times? Was it what did you hold
on to?

Speaker 17 (36:59):
I think for me it was when I graduated high
school moved away for college. That's kind of when you
latch onto things at like our home and kind of
make you go to you. And so that was early,
that was middle Alex Smith years, I want to say.
And then you know, I was the only Chief's friend
where I went to school on to Montana fans.

Speaker 6 (37:16):
Far from home. Yeah, we didn't have a lot of
Chiefs fans in my town. Yeah, and so I kind
of latched on then.

Speaker 17 (37:20):
And also that started to become how I got to
see my friends and my family when I would go home,
we would tailgate.

Speaker 6 (37:25):
But the Chiefs didn't win a playoff game, and so
I was a junior in college, so we stuck it out.

Speaker 17 (37:30):
And you know what's crazy is my uncle gave my
dad to season tickets the year before the chief draft
of my homes.

Speaker 6 (37:36):
