Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good Morning Football.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
That's right, this is Good Morning Football.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
We have brought to you my old Trapper Beef Jerky
favorite meet in the Bag if you're interested in that.
We are live in LA and New York City. It's
Friday the thirteenth in December. This is Akwar bos Ban Millet.
That's Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt, Nantiteo. I'm Jamie r at All,
Peter and Kyle. You guys referenced it. But on this
show we always kind of harp on perhaps a certain
highlight that we show from games when it like all

(00:47):
these points and all we show is a field goal. Guys,
your emotions behind what we saw last hour, which was
only field goals in a game, yet we never.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Saw it in a highlight.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Yeah, it's incredible thing. This goes back years. Sometimes will
only be allotted two plays to show from a game,
and they're both field goals. It's like if Tiger shoots
sixty five and Augusta and we just show is tap
in on eighteen. It's like, show me the approach he
had on twelve. Give the people real, actual plays. So
I have incredible news that after last night's tedious Rams
forty nine Ers game, our good friends in the highlight

(01:17):
production department at NFL Media did God's work, and then
a twelve to six game, we have no field ghalst
folks man tis fired off back by some of the
families of Josh Carty and Jake Moody. This is not
our doing, this is the high life people. I was
pushing from blaming them again.

Speaker 5 (01:33):
I wanted more Josh Carty, standford rookie going home to
northern California, crushing his old tea.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Now, okay, yeah, let's know, all right, I do it.

Speaker 6 (01:40):
Peter wants more field goals. I want a field goal, Peter.
It's season of miracles, all.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Right, Maybe for Chris Mussifert, for the holidays, get field
and that's probably how the Niners season ends. And yet
it's not because there was a whole controversy about a
player who refused to enter the game and by them
for a second, Rams, Rams, Rams, look at them eight
and six, they were two and four, They are cruising.
They win twelve to six after winning forty four to
forty two. What a time to be alive. Afterwards, Let's

(02:07):
go to the quarterback, Matthew Stafford. Let's go to the
best head coach in the NFL, Sean McVay.

Speaker 6 (02:14):
You won seven of nine.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Now, where does this team go from here? We got
to find a way to get better.

Speaker 7 (02:18):
Obviously, you know it wasn't great today, but we're finding
ways to win football games, whether it's you know, scoring
forty four last.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Week in a shootout, or are leaning on our defense
in the run game this this week in the rain,
and find a way to win. That's what it's all about.

Speaker 8 (02:29):
In December, we challenge our guys a few weeks back
to really say, hey, no matter what happens, let's make
sure there's no regrets. After the Philly game, Hey, there's
X amount of days left that we're guaranteed, there's X
amount of games, X amount of practices. Let's make sure
that we bring everything that we've got every single day,
and when we look back on this, no matter what happens,
there's no regrets. And I think our guys have done
that since then.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
All right, let's look at the playoff picture. Here.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
The Rams are suddenly not only lurking, but very alive.
They controlled their own Destiny. They're eight and six. The
Seahawks are eight and five. Now remember, see if the
Packers this weekend tough game.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
It doesn't even matter in the division.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
The Rams play this Seahawks our last game of the season,
head to head in LA. Remember Rams went into Seattle
beat them a couple of.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Weeks back in overtime.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
If the Rams win out, they are your division champions.

Speaker 6 (03:17):
In the NFC West.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
They're in the eighth spot right now. Seahawks the three.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
Of course, some great games this week Eagles, Steelers, Lions, Bills, Bucks,
they play the Chargers. That's not an easy one either.
Really fun week of football ahead. But the Niners. To
see them down the six and eight, it's gonna take
a miracle. I think they got one percent shot.

Speaker 6 (03:35):
At this point.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
No regrets, Sean mcface is not even a single letter.
You have to think that if you're the NFC. We
asked this question yesterday on Throwdown Thursday, which team would
you not want to see in the postseason? And I
think at the table it was a consensus the Rams.
After last night, I would double down on that. The
fact that now they're jockeying for positions still within their
division However, in the landscape of the NFC, Peter, what

(03:58):
do you think this does not only for the Rams
that then they're building on their team, but also the
rest of the teams that might have to face.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
Them huge because they now have this gust of momentum.
That's three wins in eleven days, and it includes wins
over two teams, the Bills and the Niners, who have given.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Them hell in the past.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
McVay had never beaten Sean McDermott beats him last Sunday,
and of course we know his demons with Kyle Shanahan
beat him in his building, essentially eliminating him. What's interesting, though,
is what versions of the Rams we got the last
two games. I think we really do obsess over mcvay's
x's and o's. And I'm not in that film community,
but like it is Candy watching all the pre snap

(04:36):
motion and how he uses Nikua and Cup and I
give dan Orlovski over.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
On ESPN a lot of credit.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
He does a great job of showing it on that
big board in that glorious studio in New York, and
he's breaking it all down. I don't even look at
McVeagh as the x's and o's master. I look at
guys like Ben Johnson and maybe even you know, Kyle Shanahan.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
To me, McVeagh is the master motivator.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
The fact that they went and scored forty four points
on Sunday against one of the best teams in football
and then score twelve and kN move the ball the
first half and still find a way to win tells
me that this team is not just one dimensional.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
It's not a bunch of cute plays.

Speaker 6 (05:12):
They're not soft.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
They can win in a.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
Lot of different ways, and that scares me. If I'm
an opponent, look the Rams, most likely if they get
in they're the three or the four seed.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Let's say they're the three seed.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
Let's just say it.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Whatever.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
They're gonna play like a Vikings or a Packers in
the first round, and they're gonna do it. If you're
Green Bay or you're Minnesota, do you want.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
To see the Rams come into here with no? Of course? Not,
of course not H two two Outwell made the.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
Biggest play last week against the Bills. Kobe Parkinson made
the biggest play this week.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
Sean mcvay's down it all up.

Speaker 5 (05:46):
It's not pretty last night, but this is the type
of ways they're winning. Different styles, different ways, and different
players contributing that all helped come January.

Speaker 9 (05:55):
Yeah, I'm so glad you brought up Shregs Kobe Parkinson
because this is the reality. There's a guy by the
name of Tyler Higbee that's been a full participant in
practice the past two weeks, and I was surprised he
didn't play last night. If you don't know who Tyler
Higbye is his there starting tight end. And what does
Tyler Higbee do for that Rams offense? It makes them
more potent. That play action pass game now comes alive.
And what does that play action pass do for a defense?

(06:17):
It makes me a little bit more hesitant to come
down the hill. But you've got to come downhill when
you have Karen Williams. Karen Williams in the backfield. But
if you do that and you bring the safeties up,
you still have pookin a cool and you still have
Cooper Cup. So with Tyler Higbee coming back, it's going
to add a whole other dimension to this Rams offense.
That defense last night for the Rams can win you
a Super Bowl. So with those who combine looking at

(06:39):
the Rams are looking very dangerous heading into this playoff,
this playoff push for them.

Speaker 10 (06:43):
Yeah, that playoff push is going to really be predicated
for for the rams Manti. It's going to really be
predicated on both sides of the ball. Playing at a
high level, it was really odd to watch a defensive man.
It was like watching Floyd Mayweather last night. You know
it's a defensive performance, but yet you win, and you're
trying to figure out how they won that. Obviously, defense
wins championship, but we need to see excitement because the

(07:04):
one thing we know, like when you talk about playing
against a potentially a Packers or potentially you know, the Vikings,
like you know, Peter was talking about, you're gonna have
to put up some numbers, and we know that they're capable.
I'm not calling them out and saying you can't put
up number. It was just very odd that against a
very good defense that they couldn't.

Speaker 6 (07:19):
I would have loved to have seen that.

Speaker 10 (07:20):
If they would have gone out there and put twenty
five thirty thirty points on the Niners, a really good defense,
then I'm really scarred and that that type of defense.
I need that marriage and I need them to sync
up at the same time.

Speaker 11 (07:32):
I hear that, I.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Mean, I think the conditions played a huge role in that,
But look, the conditions might play a huge role in
January football. I just I've come to learn over the
years that the NFL players watch so many of these
games that they're not playing if they're on a prime
so they watch Monday, they watched Thursday night. I think
there were a lot of Vikings, Packers, Lions, Eagles watching
last night saying crap. I do not want the Rams

(07:53):
in the playoffs. I genuinely believe that. Look at the alternatives.
So you have the Commanders, cool story, rookie up and
coming quarterback. You have the Seahawks, cool story, rook up
and coming coach, Rams, Stafford and McVeigh. I don't want
any part of that. These are main guys, friends of ours,
varsity players, that's all great. I do not want the

(08:15):
Rams in the playoffs, especially a RAMS team that didn't
start winning September October and then just eked out enough
wins to get in a surgey. And RAMS team is
the worst kind of RAMS team. This guy's with Super
Bowl rings. This is the guys who completely have been there,
are not intimidated at all, I don't know how Jayen
Danl's going to play in the playoffs. I expect, well,
I don't know how anybody in Seattle's going to do
in the playoffs. They're not there every single year. I

(08:37):
just look at the Rams who were there last year
when no one thought and came in and absolutely looked
great in the playoffs despite the shortcomings. I do not
want them. And if I'm an Eagles fan, I am
a huge Commanders fan. That's the irony where I'm a
huge any Seahawks fan. I want them to win. There's
Rams that logo with the curly Q horn the hell
out of my face that I don't want to see it.

(08:57):
I think you're going to though.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
They are the ultimate definition of lurking right now, at
least in the NFC. This time of year, Ian rap Apport,
we start to really hone in on the health and
availability of the stars down the stretch. Bill's Lions this
week in Massive Game. Who's available to these guys?

Speaker 12 (09:11):
You know, Jamie, I think you kind of get on
me sometimes about only bringing the bad news right. Like
a lot of times we talk about injuries, and it's
a lot of times the bad things so let me
give you some good news. Yes, hey, gear up for
this big time Bills Lions matchup. A lot of players
are healthy. They didn't used to be healthy, but starting now,
like right now, they are healthy. I'll start with Keon Coleman,

(09:32):
the standout receiver for the buff Foot Bill is really
promising receiver, battle of wrist injury the last several weeks,
has not been able to play, has been a full
participant all week. I'm anticipating him playing for the Bills.
Daldon Kincaid, their standout tight end, similar situation for him.
It's been a knee injury at PCL has missed several games.
Also full participant all week, another player I anticipate being

(09:56):
out there.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
So Bills should be at full strength.

Speaker 6 (09:59):
Okay, what about the Lions.

Speaker 12 (10:01):
The Lions also are nearing full strength. Tailor their left tackle,
one of the very good left tackers of the NFL.
Full participant with the knee injury. He also slated to play.
And then Nleen McNeil, the big money defensive tackle for
the Lions. He is coming back from a concussion. He
too was a full participant. Ce Jamie, nothing but good news.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
For me too.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
It's not me.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
I'm just representative of the people and they want good
news this time of year.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Ian all right, things like this.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Matter hate me real jo hate you never hate. Always
appreciate the news and the facts and everything. When it's
officially official raps sheet, thank you. Yesterday on GMFB overtime,
we had actor oh Jackson Junior on the show to
talk about his new movie DNA Thief's Too.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
And while he was here, though, he.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
Had to get someone off his chest about off Bar.

Speaker 13 (10:50):
When this building was elsewhere, I was on there and
I asked for some fantasy football hill. Oh yeah, okay, yeah,
and yeah you sure did look me up with a
l and my team was so stacked that he was just.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Like, look at this is like a murderer's road.

Speaker 11 (11:06):
Like you got everybody.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
So I'm feeling good.

Speaker 13 (11:09):
I'm watching Sunday watching every pick underperform, which is not
your fuck.

Speaker 11 (11:14):
Money is.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
All right, So that's all we're going to try to
avoid here. It's time now for fantasy advice presented by FedEx,
And unlike what Afbar was able to do for him
a couple of years ago, we have to tee up
some fantasy advice presented by FedEx.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
All right, So we got.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Four players that are available to you for fantasy this week.
You're going to pick them up off the waiver wire.
You're gonna stream them whatever position you need. I would
like to see some names here if I'm gonna get
fantasy advice.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
Here we go. Look at Sammy d Is he available
to you? Snagging? He's going up against the Bears this weekend.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Elijah Moore that could be tough, but he is available
against the Chiefs defense, and then the Cowboys and the Dolphins.
John hu Smith coming in hot. Let's just hold the
John hu Smith that something in regulation. Okay, we don't
have to wait all the way to overtime. Manti shout
out with that fantasy advice last week with John hu Smith.
All right, there is your fantasy advice, presented by FedEx.
We hope it does just like us a hair better

(12:10):
than off Bar did.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
For Oshane Jackson Junior a couple of years ago.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
Right, that was funny. That was gonna call back. You're
gonna get him. You should, you should. We are less
than two weeks away from Christmas. It's the celebration of
football and family. It's an epic double header. Up Verse one,
pm Eastern Chiefs in Pittsburgh taken on the Steelers. Then
four thirty pm Easter in the Texans play host to
the Ravens.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
It's a Christmas Day doubleheader. We are truly looking forward to.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
It's still to come on our show, though, guys, we
are busy this hour. We got mad minutes. We got
to fly through Week fifteen. It's a Sunday preview. We
get a couple of all star, big name where the
guests Kyle Blott excitement.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Yeah, I have to be honest, I'm nervous for this interview.
I don't get nervous from many of these, but this
is a guy who I have watched for forty years.
That Peter's way into that everybody's wait, look at that legend, Honni,
are you out of your mind? Jesse Ventura is joining
us here in studio in New York. Peter and I
think we hear him in the other room because we
just hear this iconic voice. It might be three stories away.

(13:11):
Unbelievable because there's a look at the gorilla and the body.
We are so excited at Jackson Vantern Studio. Morgan Morning Football.

Speaker 11 (13:18):
After this, that's.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Good Morning Football time for a round of mad Minute,
will put sixty seconds on the clock. There's fifteen seconds
allotted for each of you. Will rifle through all the
games Sunday afternoon. We start with Eagles Steelers Peter. The
year was nineteen sixty five in Philadelphia. That was the
last time the Steelers won on the road with their
in state rivals.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Can they do it this weekend?

Speaker 2 (13:50):
I think they do have a very good chance.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
I would also look at the Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
It's the high responds to a week of great speculation
by his relationship with his number one wide receiver AJ Brown.
Do they feed Aj early? Does it over do the
game plan? Is Kellen Moore too focused on that? I'm
curious to see if Saquan is still the focal point.
Are they trying to do something different to maybe playkate

(14:13):
their wide receiver, which is something that many quarterbacks have
done in the past and not for good reason.

Speaker 11 (14:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (14:18):
I echo the same thing Peter, like, if it isn't broke,
don't fix it. I know Kellen Moore said he's going
to try to get the ball to Aj a lot
more thet Just look at last night. That's what happens
when you force feed a receiver. Nothing good happens on offense,
so be careful.

Speaker 10 (14:29):
Yeah, I would just say to there too. For the
For the Eagles, remember their two receivers. Get the ball
to your your guy Brown, get into Devonte Smith, but
don't force it. Jalen Hurts has not had a lot
of interceptions this year, so keep you going.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Saquon Barkley going to break the Russian record. I'm into this.
I think the MVP thing has probably flown. He needs
one hundred and twenty yards a game over the next
four game to break Eric Dickerson's record. What is that
buzzer that lowards we upra.

Speaker 12 (14:56):
Is?

Speaker 3 (14:56):
The person was good?

Speaker 11 (14:57):
All right?

Speaker 2 (14:58):
So here we've all started ignoring the buzzer because it's
too weak. It's like a little bell at the deli counter.
So now they're hitting it with the semi truck and you.

Speaker 11 (15:05):
See how I shut up right away? Go ahead, next time?

Speaker 6 (15:07):
Perfect, all right?

Speaker 4 (15:10):
Next up on an AFC matchup with massive playoff and implications.
It's the Colts since le Bronco's two young quarterbacks both
fighting for a wild card spot.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Mansie.

Speaker 9 (15:20):
If I'm the Colts, I'm looking at that Cleveland Brown's tape.
I'm trying to figure out how do I take advantage
of this defense, because the Browns at a.

Speaker 11 (15:26):
Really good job of that.

Speaker 9 (15:27):
I look at Alec Pierce really coming alive in a
deep part of that deep part.

Speaker 6 (15:31):
Of that offense. Yeah, and then here I'm looking at
Garrett Bowles.

Speaker 10 (15:35):
Garret Bull's just signed an extension to protect bow knicks
and he's done a great job in October. This man
has not gotten hit. This dude is protecting bow Knicks
at a high level. He needs to keep that up
if they're going to get this victory.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Does Richardson have it in him? Does Anthony Richardson have
a run in him? What a bizarre season that could
have a very very cool ending. If the Colts go
into Denver where they are back, and the vibe is back,
and the coach is cool and the quarterback's cool, and
the Colts win because of their young quarterback, that's a
massive story. I don't see that.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
Yeah, there's two other games in this time. We know
it's interesting. It's like you've got the Bills, Lions, and
you've got Steelers. He goes, I don't know everyone's we want,
I said, it.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
Earlier this week.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
I think this is the game of the week as
far as stakes go. It's make or break for both teams. Remember,
if the Colts win this game, their final three opponents,
I believe the Titans.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Never mind, go look it up. That's great, look it up, Google,
you Google.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
We're now two for two on Kyle starting his take
in Mad Minute with a question. So I'm wondering what
he is thinking about with this Bill's Lions matchup. Off far,
you have to start, but Kyle, come up with your
question when you're ready.

Speaker 10 (16:36):
Okay, I like this game a lot, and I'm going
to just go ahead and call it. I see that
the Lions defense is going to surprise the Buffalo's the
Buffalo Bills, and I think they're going to attack in
a big way and they're gonna end up with the victory.
It's going to be a defensive matchup. The main event
will be on the defensive side.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Is this the Super Bowl preview? Is this the meaning
of life? Is this all I am watching in this
game is the Bill's defense? What do you got? We
did not like what we saw the last time we staw?
Is this a super Bowl defense? Because I know You're
going against the Super Bowl offense, and I know you
have the league MVP Bill's defense.

Speaker 11 (17:09):
What do you got?

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Good luck whoever gets buzzed this time, Peter.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
Go last week, I came on Thursday morning and I
was like, you know, I feel like the momentum might
be shifting towards the Packers here after that Thanksgiving Day
debacle at the end that they just bear know that
that that Lions team answered the bell. I don't think
the Lions have anything to worry about. Keep on rolling,
keep on doing what you do, keep on being consistent,
Do not take the foot off the pedal.

Speaker 6 (17:30):
Detroit.

Speaker 9 (17:30):
Yeah, if you're if you're the Bills, you're going against
the number one scoring offense in the NFL. So look
forward to that defense.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Got thank god? I like this segment's back. Here we go.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
We're going to life.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
The Buccaneers, speaking of coming to life, are coming to
LA to take on the Chargers. Both teams currently have
a seat in their playoff picture.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
But Kyle, how does one hold on to it?

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Is this sneaky? The best game of the week. I
love this game. This is an Bucks at Chargers. It's
the Fugazi Bowl. Who's a real contender who actually has
some been going on. Tampa has all the momentum. We
all love Baker. I don't know the Chargers. Is there
is there a post Chiefs hangovers this team? For real?
Good luck? I'm not getting buzz this time.

Speaker 5 (18:11):
Go Tampa had a huge win against the Raiders last week.
We didn't talk about it much. They were on the
ropes in that game and they just that was their
trap game and they found a way. Now you got
to travel across the country all the way to the Chargers,
and I feel pretty good about Tampa's chance.

Speaker 9 (18:24):
Do I like that, Peter, because you know the Chargers
want to run the ball.

Speaker 11 (18:28):
They want to run the ball.

Speaker 9 (18:29):
However, they don't have JK. Dobbins and they're going against
Vitave and Levonte David who soon being in the Hall
of Fame. So if they can't control those two up
the middle, it's gonna be a long day for the Chargers.

Speaker 10 (18:39):
I want to see Quintin Johnston get back to it.
He had a solid game coming off of a game
where he dropped a lot of balls, but this is
an opportunity. I want to see him string together two
games where he put together because they need that deep
there to be valuable.

Speaker 6 (18:51):
All right, back to Klego, hit hit it.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Ye see how tightly are in our comments?

Speaker 3 (18:57):
I know this time are right.

Speaker 6 (18:58):
I'll try to get you hit. That's what I like
it is.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
I'm going to win the rushing record. Is this a
Super Bowl preview?

Speaker 11 (19:04):
Sneaky?

Speaker 3 (19:04):
The best game of the week, Kyle. It was great,
so far, so good.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Curious mind serves all that was mad minute on GMFB.
Our next guest has a resume that would take up
the remaining time on our show if I dare listed
every single piece of it. Instead, I'll just call her
an award winning journalist. She's one Emmy. He's a Peaboty
Award winner and a member of the Pro Football Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
And she's one of our teammates. Andrew Kramer, get in
here on GMF.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
Everybody, Oh my god, six on one, come.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
On, seriously, we to bring the heat here.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
Andrea.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
We're thrilled to have you on because yet again, you
are a Hall of Fame honoree. December seventeenth, you will
be ducked into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
This is so wonderful.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
Congratulations and how special is this.

Speaker 14 (19:49):
Thanks Jamie, Thanks thanks everybody. I really appreciate you guys
having me on. Look, this is the I think, really
the highest honor in our profession. It's voted on by
your peers, and it really feels humbling, and of course
everybody in that room.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
The good thing about having worked.

Speaker 14 (20:04):
For every network is that they're all going to be
in the room, from ESPN to HBO, CBS, Amazon, NBC,
ESPN or as somebody once said to me, oh it's
going to be an Andrea Kreamer hair retrospective. So you
know it's going to be It's going to be a
really wonderful night. And I've got everybody represented, and I

(20:25):
am just I feel overwhelmed. That's that's the bottom line.
But I have a question for Kyle.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Kyle, so, so.

Speaker 14 (20:35):
They give me an opportunity to have a walk on song.
Now I already picked it.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
But if you had to pick.

Speaker 14 (20:42):
A walk on song for me at the Hall of Fame, well,
anybody can chime in. But I know, Kyle, especially earlier
in the show, you've already done your music maven stuff.
If you want to walk on song for me, what
would it be?

Speaker 2 (20:52):
Well, it'd be something that's like really badass, you know
what I'm saying, Like you could we could do something
like that Ay's Tom Soyl and not. You know. I
think it's like one of these stadium things where they
do enter Sandman or they do Hell's Bells like you
know what, Andrew, It's like, you know, Mariano used to
come out to enter sand Man. This is one of
those closer songs. I would say, You've been everywhere and
done every story, so I have a deep cut. You

(21:14):
can do Metallica wherever I may roam, and it really
speaks to you being around and covering every story, and
it will bring the house down, and so will this.

Speaker 11 (21:22):
Andrew.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
I'm taking editorial control here back from you because I
want to ask to hear about you. And here's the story.
We've watched all of your credits, We've watched them for decades.
We know all the work that you've done, Olympics, super Bowl,
every I want to just give you a moment. What
is something that you've done that you aren't particularly proud
of that I think people should hear about because we
can't wait.

Speaker 14 (21:40):
Well, look, I think that in my career, probably the
biggest story that I did for HBO Real Sports. That
had the most impact was on sexual assault in Beakram yoga.
We heard from domestic violence groups and just saying that
we're putting this on our alert what you must watch list,
making things very aware for people in that space. I

(22:01):
also totally different note I get to say that I
covered the two greatest Michaels in all of sports, Michael
Jordan and Michael Phelps. So those we were pretty simple.
I mean it's been more than thirty Super Bowls. That's
actually Michael Phelps on the field after the Ravens won.
I was there, cool, my bodyguard, but he was so

(22:22):
he was so excited when his beloved Ravens won. So
you know that, Yeah, that's the shot you can see
in the revelry of the Super Bowl with all the
confetti coming down. But you know those, you know, Probably
the biggest news story I broke was Michael Jordan actually
coming back to the to the NBA. Then I did
the first interview with him. So there's been a lot
of first Barrett Robbins, why he went a wall at

(22:43):
the Super Bowl, Chris Carter, There's just there's so many.
I'm just so grateful that I have gotten to tell
a lot of these a lot of these really impactful stories.

Speaker 5 (22:52):
We love you, we love your work, and obviously you've
had an incredible impact on everyone on this show, Kyle
and me especially.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
We've been working with you eight years. You've been coming
on the show.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
I remember when you came out and did a thee
Foreman story.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
It. Oh, it's incredible, and this is amazing work. And
that was years ago. He's already out of the league,
I think.

Speaker 5 (23:09):
So you think about some of these players in these
faces that I've walked through the door, and how you've
been able to impact their lives and tell their stories.
What's an NFL story that sticks out to you that
if you're an elevator and someone says.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
To you at the combine, like, give us a.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Good NFL story, what would you tell him?

Speaker 14 (23:25):
Well, I would say one of the most personally impactful
stories on me was on Super Bowl Champion Joe Jeravicius,
who won a Super Bowl with Tampa, was also as
you know, with Seattle with the Giants, ended his career
with Cleveland, and he and his wife Megan lost their
first child, their son, at forty days of age. It
was the hardest story I've ever done in my life.

(23:46):
Because I had my son was very very young at
the time. I actually never appeared on camera because I
was so kind of broken up by the whole thing.
But I think what it epitomized for me, guys, is
the trust that people had in me to tell these
kinds of stories. Because I always say what I always
hear why people talk to you, and is it a
Catharsis thing? Is it something they want to share to

(24:09):
show how strengthen their life can really help you get
through some of these horrible, very terrible moments. But that
story just has always been really special to me, and
they've never spoken to anybody else about it. And there's
a responsibility that comes with telling these stories. And I
know that Barn Mantey know about this, but it's a

(24:30):
responsibility I took really seriously and I just always try
to do my best and to do right by players
and coaches when I told their stories.

Speaker 10 (24:38):
And Andrew, you did more than just did your best.
I mean, you were absolutely great as storytelling. And that's
why I think your walk One song should be I
Am I'm every Woman by sha Ka Khan in Whitney, Houston.

Speaker 6 (24:49):
That should be your walk. That's exactly what you've been.

Speaker 10 (24:53):
I just want also to give you just you your
flowers too, because every time I've ever reached out to
you for journalism help or mentorship, You've always picked up.
You've always took your time to sit and talk to me.
So I appreciate you. But when you think though about
sports journalism landscape right now, how is the coverage and
storytelling change throughout your career?

Speaker 6 (25:12):
You've seen it all, yeah, I have.

Speaker 11 (25:15):
So.

Speaker 14 (25:15):
One of the things that I was able to do,
especially in my years at ESPN in another century back then,
it was you know, you would I would be out
there obviously every week, and I would talk to talk
to players all the time and hear from them what
was going on, what was what was really on their minds.
That's actually how I found out and did the story

(25:37):
on well.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Here's Dean Sanders.

Speaker 14 (25:38):
That's my actually first ever live shot by the way,
when I asked Dion about oh, I guess you're wearing
your signing bonus now, But anyway, so I would talk
to players, That's how I found out. For example, there
you go about the use of tor dol and players
would tell me if they would line up to get
shots in their butt for tour doll. So I ended
up doing that story for HBO. Five months later, the

(26:00):
NFL changes their policy on that. So let me ask
you guys a question, particularly Straker, because you had trivia earlier. Okay,
do you remember the Wizinator?

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Yes, Ontario Smith in the airport. Go on, tell the folks.

Speaker 14 (26:16):
Okay, all right, So now I'm gonna get myself in trouble.
But I would want it no other way. I'm sorry,
feel afraid to feel afraid to have my zoom ling
get lost. Never But this is an example of a
story that could not be done today, I believe, because
you wouldn't get players to be this honest. So, in
light of the whole how do you beat drug tests?

(26:39):
I found a player, Sean Knight, not the quarterback. It
was a linebacker for the Panthers and the Colts, and
he had failed a drug test because he was pregnant.
You heard me correctly. He used his girlfriend's urine, did
not know she was pregnant.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
That's how they found out.

Speaker 14 (27:01):
So this this, obviously, this became a story about how
you beat drug tests, and you don't do those kinds
of stories today. Nobody really wants them, nobody is really
going to run them. And I just think that they're enlightening,
They're different, they are informative, and I miss doing stories

(27:22):
like that. But it's excuse me with Sean King, Sean King,
Shaan King, let me get the name right. Sorry, Sean King.
But yeah, that was stories like that. You just don't
get them. You just don't get them done today. And then,
of course, of course I'm biased because with the loss
of Real Sports, with the cancelation of the longest running
show on HBO, you really miss out on a lot

(27:43):
of strong sports journalism.

Speaker 7 (27:45):
Really missed Real Sports there, and Andrea, you've talked about it.
Just your stories have run the gamut. One of the
stories that you have done, and the person you have
covered for almost their entire career is Bill Belichick. I've
understand you've done some investigation on this topic.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
We've talked about it.

Speaker 7 (28:00):
Everyone is the fact that he is now the head
coach at the University of North Carolina. I know, what
do you make of this transition?

Speaker 14 (28:07):
Yeah, well, I can't help myself. I have to try
to talk to somebody about it. I can't just get
my own opinion. So I reached out to Jim Mora,
who was obviously the head coach in Atlanta and in
Seattle and has been at both UCLA and is now
at Yukon, and I wanted to get his idea on
what the transition was going to be like after Bill
has coached forty nine years in the NFL and is

(28:28):
now going to college. First of all, Mora told me
that he thinks that Belichick is going to do a
great job. And he said that he will see quickly
how much the players don't know the intricacies of football,
situational football, all things that are right up Bill zally.
But he said the biggest thing for him is that,
as he said, the credo in college is you got

(28:49):
to coach.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
Him hard and love them hard.

Speaker 14 (28:51):
And this idea of building relationships with his players, I'm like.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
Whoa, whoa, whoa, wha, Wait, that's not.

Speaker 14 (28:56):
Who Bill Belichick was at the Patriots. And he said
he's going to learn that you have to be able
to build these relationships in college. The fatherly aspects are
going to have to come out of him. And more
could not have been more strong about how he thinks
that Bill will do this, but that it is it
is Germane to his success in college that you you

(29:19):
have to it's you're giving them advice, You're creating opportunities
for them for life on and off the field. And
he said this was this was so huge. He said,
Bill is going to have to build these relationships with
his players and he's got to get close to them.
So that's how you make an impact. So I found
that really interesting that Jimoris said that to me, and

(29:40):
obviously something that we're going to have to watch to
see if Bill's going to be able to change his colors.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
I think in that respect, Andrea, you're a machine.

Speaker 4 (29:47):
You cannot be stopped when it comes to reporting about football,
and I would say the same to you.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
We will see quickly how little we know about what.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
It's like to have the passion you do for covering football.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
You are a legend. Andrew Kramer. We love you. We'll
see you.

Speaker 15 (29:59):
At this point, ladies and gentlemen, hell has frozen over.

Speaker 11 (30:17):
Yes it is.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
This man is on Good Morning Football. He is back
in wrestling. One of the most interesting Americans to ever live.
Jesse Ventura, welcome.

Speaker 11 (30:25):
To the show. Thanks guys. I got to admit to
you I'm kind of a fan of this show. Really.
Oh yeah, I tune you in at least once a
week because I'm a fan of the NFL. But I
try also to stay away from you predictors. What do
you mean, Well, because you guys all come out the
week before and you make these grandiose predictions, then next

(30:45):
week you won't even talk about how bad you're screwed up. No,
it's fun to listen, But dealing with football, I truly
don't like. I don't watch. I don't turn the game
on til it's kickoff. Really, I do not want to
hear analysts at all.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
That's what we do for a living every single week.

Speaker 11 (31:05):
Let's do it on the I'm a minority, you know,
keep that in mind. No, because to me, if you
watch too much, especially game day, does the game then
live up to the analyst? I understand, you know, And
I would rather kick back, watch the watch the game.
I don't need Guy's dissect.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Totally get it.

Speaker 6 (31:25):
I get it.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
And that Sunday, but we're excited for Saturday.

Speaker 11 (31:29):
Let's go so talk about Saturday.

Speaker 5 (31:32):
Fanboying out Obviously we grew up sure fans of yours.

Speaker 6 (31:35):
And then the press release comes out.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
I guess a couple of weeks ago that WWE's.

Speaker 5 (31:39):
Iconic Saturday Night's main event is returning Saturday, December fourteenth
in Long Island and Jesse Ventura is going to be
on the broadcast for NBC.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
How does this happen? You and the WWE back together again?

Speaker 11 (31:50):
Well, hell is frozen over. I can only say that
my friend, the late Glen Fry, when the Eagles broke
up and they got back together with hell freezing over
for Glenn, the same thing took place with me the
WWE under new ownership. I like the new ownership a
great deal. I give credit to my son because my

(32:11):
son is now my agent, my representative, and everything. He
put the deal together. He was the liaison. He's always
been a fan of wrestling, and he felt strong that
his dad should finish his career back there, and with
the new ownership that opportunity. I can't go back to
the United States Navy, you know, I did that for
six years and they won't let me back into being

(32:34):
a frogman. No more so. Really, my career now has
come full circle. That's so cool because I'm going to
finish it now truly where I belong back in pro wrestling,
and I never thought i'd see the day because I
got ran out for trying to unionize one of the reasons,
and for keeping my own name. You know, I have

(32:55):
it registered and I wouldn't allow them to exploit it. Yes, yes,
I have it copyrighted with the government. And so I
was drummed out because of that, and then Hogan got
me throwing out a WCW and there's nothing left. Wrestling
was over then, so I decided to go into a

(33:15):
dirtier business.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Politics, politics, well all the stuff you've done, Jesse, the politics, movies,
and wrestling. I think our personal favorite avenue of your
career was truly broadcasting, and I met what we said
in the clip earlier. You and Gorilla Monsoon are my
favorite broadcasting team ever. We have Matt in Summer, all
we have buckan Akman, all these great broadcasters. Can you

(33:37):
take us back to that, because that's some of what
this weekend is about you and Garrilla.

Speaker 11 (33:40):
Yeah. Well, you know it was interesting because I got
injured badly the night before I was to wrestle Hulk
Hogan for the title Pulmonary m blood clots and my lungs,
my career very well was over, and I faced what
all performers face. What in the hell do you do now?
You never think about the day that it could end

(34:01):
tomorrow due to injury, due to whatever. And so, to
make the long story short, at the time, Vince called
me and said, I want to try something that's never
been done. And at the time we were doing a
lot of things that had never been done in wrestling.
He said, I want to put the first villain on
the mic as a color commentator, someone who sides with

(34:24):
the roots of evil or whatever. And so I'll never
forget the first night they matched me up with Gorilla.
We were kind of the B team because you had
Vince and Bruno and me and Gorilla. And I'll never forget.
He gave me my marching orders that night. He said, Jesse,
here's your mindset. I said, what is it? He said this.

(34:44):
He said, if you believe it, then it's true. Well,
in other words, he's given me carte blanche. That's carte blanche.
So I took it, and I was fortunate to have
Geno Gorilla monsoon. This guy had timing. He understood me,
he understood what it would take to be successful and

(35:07):
we were, and unfortunately, because we were so good, I
got bumped up to the A team with Vince Yeah,
you know, and it had to leave Gorilla, which many
people were not happy with that.

Speaker 6 (35:18):
I wasn't you know.

Speaker 11 (35:19):
It broke up, broke up the team of me and Gorilla,
And I feel great because he's a great memory of
a great professional wrestler and to the wrestling business. They
couldn't have a better spokesman than Gorilla Monsoon.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (35:35):
Ever, I love about your love that you're back and
you're gonna be honoring him of course tomorrow night.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
And it goes back to Long Island. I'm back at
the Nashville Coliseum. This thing all went down.

Speaker 5 (35:45):
Have you heard many of the wrestlers of contemporary times
today that maybe I've reached out since the news came out,
because I think it's pretty cool that they're going to
have you in there.

Speaker 11 (35:51):
They're scared to death.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
Yeah, you're gonna actually say what I know what you're going?

Speaker 11 (35:57):
Well, they understand that. Well, like I said, they couldn't
control me thirty five years ago. What makes them think
they can?

Speaker 6 (36:04):
And now here we go?

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Are they ready for Satay and John? I know? Are
they ready? For what you're going to bring, I don't know.

Speaker 11 (36:10):
You better get them in here and interview them because,
like I said, i'll predict this, I could be fired
by Saturday.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
And like you've thoughts, you've takes, what would you be
fired for?

Speaker 11 (36:20):
J I don't know. I think what do I ever
get fired for? Opening my mouth about thing, trying to
right wrongs, do things of that nature, and I get
in trouble for it.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
I know you have a lot of opinions and not
afraid to share them.

Speaker 11 (36:34):
And that's and that's what's the best because I've been handcuffed.
When you're in the political arena, you got to watch
what you say because now that's off because it's wrestling.
I can say anything. I can sit here right now
and tell you had I had ballid access in all
fifty states, I would be your president because you got

(36:58):
He knows it too. He can out talk me. I'm
in the Hall of fame. He feared that I would
run because he could never beat me.

Speaker 5 (37:07):
Yeah right, Wait the XFL, though he obviously was evolved
in announce You've got some history.

Speaker 6 (37:14):
Yeah, history, Like, well.

Speaker 11 (37:16):
The XFL was terrific, and you know it was a
new league in this wrong time of the year, and
it was something he wanted to do and he had
the money to do it. And what I love about
it is some of a couple things have carried over.
The greatest thing the XFL gave us was that camera
that runs up and down the field. That came from us.

Speaker 6 (37:39):
That's true.

Speaker 11 (37:40):
Yeah, damn right, it did. That came from us. Also,
I wish they'd add another little rule. We had no
fair catches. You either let the ball bounce or you
catch it. You're on your own. Well no, none of this.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
Yeah, yeah, you know we're going a different direction.

Speaker 11 (38:01):
If you're going to do this, get the hell out
of the way and let the ball bounce.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
It's ironic with Jesse. We ain't got time right now
and we're running up against the segment. But Jesse, I
just tell us just a little bit more about what's
come in the future for you. We never know where
you're gonna do this event Saturday Night. Can we expect
the body to be back moving forward?

Speaker 11 (38:20):
You can expect the body to be back for this
entire season Saturday Night main event. So it's more than
one awesome.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
And then maybe we'll renegotiating and get a huge raise
and do it again. You'll be a leader in that regard.

Speaker 11 (38:34):
Yeah, but I don't want money, I want stock options.

Speaker 6 (38:38):
See it's always.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
How close are you with Triple H. I don't know.
I said you liked him. We can get a lot
about that.

Speaker 11 (38:46):
Well, you know, I'll say this about Triple H. I
never dreamed I could be back there, and he brought
me back. And for him to do that is quite
an accomplishment on both sides, my son and him working together,
and it's occurred. Now it's going to happen, and I'm thrilled.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Not as thrilled as the fans. We're unapologetic fan boys.

Speaker 11 (39:12):
And I'll tell you this. You know, my job there
is to exploit that talent, not myself. I'm already over.
I don't need no exploitation. My job is to make
sure them young kids get exploited.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
That's the Legends Saturday Night's main event, NBC WAT just
in the body ventn Oh, it's.

Speaker 11 (39:33):
Beautiful, Thank you so much, thank you. God's
