a watchful protector, a black and white striped night and
the only person on the field who every single NFL

(00:32):
fan has an opinion on to some scarier than any
zombie or vampire to others. A hero, a steady hand,
an encyclopedic command of a four thousand page rule book.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Fall start, offense, everybody but the center, five yard penalty, first.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Down, and triceps and traps bursting forth from an undersized shirt.
No challenge flag necessary here. It's Kyle Brandt as an
NFL free All right, everyone, hold on to your horses.

the field. She's dedicated to keeping the Indianapolis Colts legacy alive.
You know her as the standout sister on the sideline
every Sunday Playbook in hand, Humanity in heart, we bring
you Jamie Erdahl as the owner and inspiration that is
Carly Ursy Gordon.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
You think it's strange that I'm on a sideline with
a headset on. I think it's strange that you're not. Oh,
and it's the AFC leading colts.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
And now ladies and gentlemen, hang on to your helmets
because the man, the myth, the main is in the building.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
Thanks, Joe, I have a question.

Speaker 6 (02:29):
Tell me how do you recover from that monster hit?

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Rounding out today's crew is a legendary reporter who's been
bringing us the scoop from the sidelines for decades. She's
covered more Super Bowls than most franchises have played in,
and this year she's blazing her trail straight into the
Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

Speaker 7 (02:49):
It's Sherry Burris as the.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Unstoppable Fox Sports sideline reporter Pam Oliver.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Thanks, appreciate your time, Happy Halloween.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Welcome, Good Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper.

Speaker 6 (03:22):
Well, what is this who.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Has graced our presence to start GMFB on I thought
this show was a three hosts GMFB episode on Halloween.
It's a McMichael classic Chicago Bears jersey. And when the
head of the costume of the mascot was terrifyingly removed,
it is found to be our good friends son breaking Runner.

Speaker 8 (03:53):
It's a suit has now become a sauna suit time.

Speaker 6 (03:56):
I'm deep, deep.

Speaker 8 (03:58):
In the waters of my own sweat here more than
you needed to know them.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
You are sweating, probably like many quarterbacks feel when their
offensive line actively begins to fold on them. And now
you understand how it must feel to play that position
in the NFL.

Speaker 9 (04:10):
Oh god, terrifying, terrifying.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
By ye fight, everybody looks great, Troy, glad to see you.
Thank you, col sar seven and one Kyle Brandt, or
shall I say, the anonymous man in charge of the game.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
That's exactly right, you right now looking at me in
the bottom right now you have an opinion about me?

Speaker 7 (04:28):
I don't know what it is.

Speaker 6 (04:29):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
If you have an opinion about the other three, you
definitely have an opinion about me.

Speaker 7 (04:33):
Here's my opinion, Seth.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
When you took off the bear, I was, first of all,
I was so glad it was you because I love
having you on the show, genuinely, And I was so
relieved that it wasn't a mascot that we're gonna have
to hang out with for two hours.

Speaker 6 (04:44):
That's a tough hang.

Speaker 7 (04:45):
I thought the mascot was going to be.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
Here all morning.

Speaker 7 (04:47):
Thank god Seth is here.

Speaker 8 (04:48):
Yeah, now that it's me, a little personality to go
with the eggs, So it's good.

Speaker 6 (04:52):
We're good.

Speaker 9 (04:53):
Yeah, I'm happy to be here. Thankful.

Speaker 8 (04:55):
I'm on the shelf for quite some time here in
my day job, So thank you guys for welcoming me.
No place i'd rather be. Halloween morning, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Trooper, Yeah, how's your morning going?

Speaker 6 (05:05):
It's good, great, it's going great.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
You know, there are certain reminders of why I retired,
and one of them was when I dove over that
little thing that we had and I hit and I
hit my elbow and it felt a little bit more
painful than they usually feel.

Speaker 6 (05:17):
So that's what I know. Yeah, I'm retired.

Speaker 9 (05:19):
I'm definitely it's gonna get bad for you later today.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
All you well, sometimes sometimes the costumes you get the look,
but then you also have to have the attitude. And
Jamie Rdall walking down those steps like you just meant
business like a CEO vibe.

Speaker 7 (05:34):
Completely take your moment.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Jamie just basking it because you're own in it this morning.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Carly ERSA Gordon was named CEO of the Colts back
in twenty fourteen. She's been attending league ownership meetings to
two thousand and four. She is the oldest of three
daughters of the late Great Jim Orsay. She's taken over
full operational control of the seven and one AFC leading Colts,
and people are losing their minds over the fact that
this woman has been at training camp, practice, at practice,

(06:00):
she's on the sideline during the games. She has been
doing this for years, and in a recent interview, carl
Orse Gordon says, I have never been more amazed at
a football organization. Is a live, moving organism, and I
make very expensive decisions, and what I heard is she
doesn't want to make expensive mistakes, and the decisions the
Colts have made Kyle to become the Daniel Jones Indiana

(06:22):
Jones leading AFC Colts, who, by the way, play the
Steelers this weekend. There's never more of an obvious reason
to make my nails cult blue this week beautiful.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Yeah, they're the best team in football. That costume works, Jamie.
If they're two and six, it's still a great costume.
But now it just hits differently. It's unbelievably cool. A
lot of people have had a lot of jokes for
me this morning. I'm not going to repeat a lot
of them. The people on the streets of New York,
some high fives, some other gestures, a lot of things
on Twitter that I'm a Chief fan, which I am not,

(06:53):
but I just listen. I remember growing up, I would
always know the officials just like the players. If you're
a real geek for football like I am, all the
names come through Jerry, Austin, Rome, Boger.

Speaker 7 (07:05):
You could keep going and.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Going, obviously, the entire Hockey League family. And I remember
moments SuperM officials. You want to get mad about it, fine,
it's part of the game. I remember fun moments like
you know, we're so spoiled now the NFL is international
all the time.

Speaker 7 (07:17):
It was a novelty way back twenty years ago.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
The NFL goes to Mexico and the goat ed hockey
Lee brings down the house and does this.

Speaker 10 (07:25):
Also personnel no offense, thou bowl.

Speaker 9 (07:32):
Sho it down.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
They set to sinko and everybody lost their minds a
referee speaking Spanish. Now they're all there. That was pre
pre uh, social media, pre everything. It's a different kind
of wicked time right now. But I've met several of
those people and I really.

Speaker 7 (07:47):
Respect them, Kyle.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
I also appreciate the fact that you hedged your bets
on your costume this year. I remember a few years back.
You are somebody who likes to build a narrative surrounding
your costume idea. You were going hard on bot party.
Brock Perty was having a sensational start to a season,
and unfortunately he's short circuited right before Hall, so Kyle
had to modify his costume. But buddy, you've picked one
that does never needs to be modified, that it can

(08:11):
stay in perpetuity as you look today, and I think
you have found the perfect evergreen look for you and Seth.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
I gotta tell you a lot of the people in
your line of work. They have a prop like Hexa,
Jim Duggan with the two by four sometimes Matchmatchaman savag
just to have a scepter.

Speaker 7 (08:27):
This thing is all powerful.

Speaker 6 (08:28):
This might be I.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Feel like throwing Thor's hammer, right, It's amazing, I feel
so it's like a lightning boat with Zeus. I loved
that thing. Seth, you mentioned it you got an injury.
This is one of your first major TV appearances. Synth
the injury or is it Seth as everyone suggesting an injury?

Speaker 9 (08:46):
I was like, no, no, I wish I could rip
this thing off.

Speaker 8 (08:49):
I just had shoulder surgery on my rotator cuff two
weeks ago. So yeah, this is what I've done a
couple of little pre tape things.

Speaker 9 (08:55):
This is the first live one man. You guys are
getting the scoop.

Speaker 8 (08:58):
We got probably six months, six months on the shelf
something like that. We'll see what rehab brings. But uh,
I'm here. I'm gonna be here on a regular basis. Yeah, man,
I love being here with you guys. Dude, this is awesome.

Speaker 9 (09:11):
Hopefully not in a sauna suit every single.

Speaker 8 (09:13):
Week, but you know, well, I'll be back in my
regular ata.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
When you were coming out of your the operating room
was the first phone call you made to the to
essentially the people that schedule you on this show, like,
bring me in.

Speaker 6 (09:23):
I'm ready.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
I've got six months to give Cold Hard Bears takes.

Speaker 8 (09:28):
Yeah, I said, I said my manager, you gotta keep
me busy, keep me busy.

Speaker 6 (09:33):
We can't.

Speaker 8 (09:33):
We can't just shut it all down, you know, I mean,
let's just keep this, Let's keep this train rolling.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Your legendary wife's like, get out of this, get.

Speaker 8 (09:39):
Gone, you go do something. I can't have you in
a menace, you know what I mean. I'm a little
grumpier than usual. Right, Yeah, get out, we go do something. Yeah,
make everybody else.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
We'll take your man on the show anymore. Ravens Dolphins
have a Kyle though.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
All right, The Ravens would be the Reese's peanut butter
pumpkin with the extra peanut butter ratio, and the Dolphins
would be I don't know, a toothbrush. It was not great. Sorry,
they were winning three and nothing. That's good, but there
was not much more of that. Mark Andrews had two
catches for two touchdowns. We haven't seen Lamar for a
month he looked like the MVP. Maybe it's the Dolphins defense.

(10:14):
Maybe it's just Lamar feels so fresh and rejuvenated. He's
gonna hit Isaiah likely here. And this was not a
competitive game. Let's just be honest. We don't celebrate this
part of the NFL. But I don't know what's gonna
happen to Mike McDaniel this morning or ever. But this
team did not show up for a national game at home.

(10:34):
They really never had a chance to win this thing
against The quarterback hadn't played in a month and a
team that was two and five, and that is not great.
That's Mark Andrews, that's Lamar. It says more than just
the Dolphins. Things are shot across the bout to the
AFC to say that, yeah, our record isn't great, but
our quarterback shore is and our teams played two amazing
games in a row.

Speaker 6 (10:51):
That's not great.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
So that was to, you know, to have played amazing
last week. Mike McDaniels, he looking up to the front office.
I don't know, maybe look at that.

Speaker 7 (10:59):
Person with a bag.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
They cut the holes out with some safety scissors.

Speaker 7 (11:03):
Lamar touchdown. This is one of my favorite Ravens.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
I love this.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Charlie Kohlar is huge and he's come up big this year.
Second straight week with the touchdown for him.

Speaker 6 (11:12):
Oh one more Lamar, Why the heck not?

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Twenty one to six and here is the stone cold stunner.
Never mind the flag touchdown Rashad Bateman.

Speaker 7 (11:21):
They are out of here.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Mike McDaniel, it was really fun when he came in
the league as a head coach.

Speaker 6 (11:27):
I like him.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
I like his personality, I like his background. I went
to Yale, and I'm not sure where we're going next.
Twenty eight to six, Ravens get to three and five
more important than they stay alive.

Speaker 7 (11:38):
But as I said, it's been a rough run for
the Dolphins. Watch this sound here. It's the quarterback and
the coach, and it's not great.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
We had a pretty heartfelt conversation in there after the game.

Speaker 11 (11:52):
And yeah, after that.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Conversation, you know, I feel like guys are gonna go away.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
They're going to do what they need to do. But
when we come back on Monday, you know we're ready
to work.

Speaker 11 (12:03):
You want to take take the terms, you want to
fix stuff, and yeah, it sucks.

Speaker 6 (12:08):
That sucks.

Speaker 11 (12:09):
All of that is, but you know, I think it's
a pretty consistent formula of you know, fans enjoy winning,
and so our expectation is that we have to do
the work and do the right things for fans doing
enjoy the experience.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
I saw kind of an annoying thing online people were
trying to count the ums and as that Mike McDaniel
is doing in that postgame presser. Listen, he's trying to
give thoughtful answers to a very clearly frustrating situation. It
might not be your cup of tea the Dolphins the
product they're putting on the field this season, but he's
a likable guy, and he's a head coach in the NFL.

Speaker 7 (12:45):
Maan Ti and for just a.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Couple of years ago, Alan and Kirk, we're talking about this,
he was the talk of the town in the NFL.
The Dolphins have fallen off this season. What did you
see specifically from last year?

Speaker 4 (12:57):
Well, what I saw, specifically, guys, is a kind of
behavior by Mike Bigdoner that I haven't seen in almost
four years that he's been the head coach over there
for the Miami Dolphins. I have never seen him, Yell,
I've never seen him get on his players or anything
like that. But last night it was the first time
that I saw him very emotional, in a very angry
way and almost demanding guys to perform.

Speaker 6 (13:16):
And when they would make mistakes, he would get on them.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
And then there was just a lot of stuff that
were happening on a sideline, like there was what happened
on a siland was a great reflection of what was
going on on the field. There was just everybody's on
different pages. Everybody's trying to do different things. People aren't
pleased with the product that's on the field, that's off
the field, things are being said in meetings, out of meetings.
I look at the Miami Dolphins team and a franchise, it.

Speaker 6 (13:39):
Just it looks split.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
You know, guys are just it doesn't look like they
I mean, I would say.

Speaker 6 (13:44):
For a little bit, the defense looked like.

Speaker 4 (13:46):
They were ticking and everything. There's a lot of energy
and enthusiasm. But then as the Ravens kept knocking and
clawing and making their way down the field, it's almost like, man, okay,
I'm done.

Speaker 6 (13:56):
You know.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
And I saw that for the first time, and Mike
McDaniel a very, very emotional, very.

Speaker 6 (14:04):
He was just more direct.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
I've seen a playful mic before. This mic last night
was a little different.

Speaker 9 (14:09):
So yeah, yeah, you're right man.

Speaker 8 (14:11):
I mean there's just something off about this team this season.
You know, every you mentioned it, the frustration, it's starting
to boil over on the sideline. I mean you see
it in the pressers there. That's kind of been going
on for weeks. I think the thing that's really frustrating
if you're a Dolphins fan is you go back to
last week in the game against Atlanta and you go,
that's my team, that's look what they can do, Look
what's there, you know, and you just can't seem to

(14:33):
get that consistency from week to week. And as a fan,
that is so frustrating, especially Mike McDaniel. Nothing has changed
really for them personnel wise in the last few seasons. Yeah,
they're missing Tyreek this year, but they have the capability
to have a dynamic offense, and they just everything's off.

Speaker 9 (14:53):
The operation runs you see right there too, is just
missing throws.

Speaker 8 (14:57):
The guys are miscommunicating on the routes.

Speaker 9 (15:00):
You know what zone, man, do we need to stop?
Do we need to keep running through? Everything's it's a
little bit off.

Speaker 8 (15:05):
This season, and it's hard to put your finger on
like one thing. That's that's the reason for this this frustration.
But maybe you maybe you got something, Kyle. Maybe Kyle
understands you, because I.

Speaker 9 (15:16):
Can't quite put my finger, my aw on it.

Speaker 6 (15:20):
My claw.

Speaker 8 (15:20):
There's no claw, but I can't quite get it. You know,
it's something there, Kyle. What's what's your thought on Miami.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
I do have a theory, and I also have a
theory that last night was Mike McDaniel's last stand, and
I don't celebrate it. I know there's a whole part
of the internet.

Speaker 7 (15:33):
That revels and firings and stuff like.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
That, and we as a show, and certainly me, it's
I don't think it's funny. I don't champion it at all.
It's real people in real lives.

Speaker 6 (15:42):
My theory is.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
That I think that if you are a head coach
that has a unique personality, and most of them don't.
Most head coaches are just solid speak the same way
as everybody else. They just get the ball on the
fairway and they're just rock solid down the middle.

Speaker 6 (15:57):
Then every once in.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
A while you get someone like Mike McDaniel who is
not only unique he's actually eccentric. You have other people
like Dan Campbell who as a unique personality. He's not
like everybody else, doesn't talk like them, doesn't act like them.
I think when you're in that very small minority of
having a unique personality as a head coach, and I
think if you start to lose the team, I think
it's really impossible to get them back because a unique

(16:20):
personality starts to feel like a shtick.

Speaker 7 (16:22):
Maybe it starts to feel annoying because these guys what
they spend most.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Of their days during the week listening to their head
coach talk, and if he talks in a unique way
that is eccentric or even bizarre, sometimes it becomes an
eye roller. And if you're down and you're out, and
you're not feeling good about yourself or your team, and
your head coach gets up there and he talks like
Mike McDaniel, I think sometimes that can really make you
tune out faster. Now, Dan Campbell it works for him,

(16:48):
but we've seen plenty of other people that when it
comes off the tracks, it comes off the tracks fast.
I would look historically at Rex Ryan, who had a
Dan Campbell type bluster, and then when it went bad.
It went bad really fast, and I think it's gone
really bad for Mike McDaniel. And I do think he
is a new visual leader and an innovative leader. I
just don't know, really at this stage of the game

(17:09):
what kind of motivator he could be for a room
full of athletes on a bad team who lose every
single week. I choose to look at the Mike McDaniel
positivity that he has.

Speaker 7 (17:18):
Given us over the last few years.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Just just a couple of years ago, Guys that Mike McDaniel's
offense was scoring seventy points. Seventy points in a game
against the Denver Broncos at home, the same home atmosphere
last night, that he scored six points in a primetime game.
It's gone bad. It's gone really bad. And it hasn't
just gone bad for the coach. It's gone bad for
the quarterback as well. So it's an unsavory story. And

(17:40):
I think when you choose to be an original as
a head coach, you are taking a gamble that your
players are going to buy in and stay bought in.
With that, Mike McDaniel is truly an original head coach,
which I respect, but I don't think his players are
buying anymore.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
In about ten days, the Dolphins will host the Buffalo Bills,
and the day after that they will get on a
plane and travel to Madrid to play the Commanders. So
an interesting couple of weeks for Miami moving forward, be
watching the AFC East, the AFC as a whole, and
speaking of those Bills, they take on the Chiefs this weekend,
and that's where we will go next on GMFB. We
got to talk about some of these really really electric

(18:15):
AFC matchups over the weekend. It's those two logos, It's
those two quarterbacks. We're also looking at Steelers Colts Kyle Once.
We got Matt Minutes.

Speaker 7 (18:24):
What a show?

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Oh yeah, we got Seth Robin's here at a bear
costume and pause and does the bear do something in
the woods? We'll get into it. Tak a look at
the Bears and the rest of the NFC North. Can
Chicago get back in the win Colu they won four
in a row, they lost one. It's not like they've
bought ten.

Speaker 6 (18:40):
In a row.

Speaker 7 (18:41):
Oh my god, though, they better beat the Bengals. We'll
get sessed out on this when we get back. Good
Morning Football, spooky.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
I bet that's how JJ McCarthy feels. Preparing for the
Detroit Lions this weekend. Tom Pellasaro joining us now our
NFL now insider Tom. They have been waiting Vikings fans
for the return of the man dressed as the quarterback
that they drafted in twenty twenty four. JJ McCarthy update,
please and then move on to.

Speaker 7 (19:14):
Cincinnati, Well, Jamie.

Speaker 10 (19:16):
JJ McCarthy is set to start on Sunday against the
Lions for the first time since he suffered a high
ankle sprain back in week two. Officially listed as a
full participant in practice over the past couple of days.
I spoke with McCarthy yesterday. I was in the Vikings
locker room, had a good conversation with him. He told
me that he is feeling really good. He is extremely upbeat.

(19:38):
Teammates also saying he's been really demanding in the huddle.
Seems very very dialed in.

Speaker 6 (19:42):
We'll see.

Speaker 7 (19:43):
It's been a long layoff.

Speaker 10 (19:44):
This is only his third NFL start, but certainly there
is optimism, not just that the people around JJ McCarthy
can give him some confidence, but that McCarthy's return can
bring some confidence to this Vikings team as well as
they get set to take on the Lions. Meanwhile, Joe
Flacco has made a lot more than three NFL starts.
The question is will he make another one on Sunday

(20:05):
against the Bears. He's dealing with an acy joint spring
in his throwing shoulder. Didn't practice Wednesday, was back on
a limited basis on Thursday. Ac joint injuries in your
throwing shoulder can be complicated, particularly when you are forty
years old. His practice participation will be worth monitoring today.
If he can't go, it would be back to the man.
He replaced Jake Browning as the starting quarterback for Cincinnati Jamie.

Speaker 7 (20:28):
Bengals fans would hate it.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
Bears fans would love it, Tom if that were the case.
The latter part of what you just said, Tom, thank
you very much. Love your costume today. The Bears had
a four game win streak snapped last week at the
hands of the Ravens. We know what the Ravens went
on to do on Thursday night. Now, Ben Johnson's crew
heads to Cincinnati to turn things around and make sure
that they have an argument for a playoff push. This

(20:50):
is a must have. Mantai is that what you would
qualify this as.

Speaker 6 (20:53):
Yeah, I think it's a must happening.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
Also as a must as I mean, Joe Flacco has
to play, because if Joe Flacco doesn't play, the Bears
are going to win. Joe Flacco. In the event that
Joe Flacco does when it will be a battle of turnovers.
The Bears right now are leading the NFL. The Bears defense,
that is, they're leading the NFL and takeaways. Now, Joe
Flacco doesn't really turn a ball over. Matter of fact,
he hasn't turned the ball over yet since being a

(21:16):
Cincinnati Bengal, and so that's gonna be the thing that
I'm going to look at when I watch his game.
Can canna Dennis Allen defense, which is the Chicago Bears
continue to take the ball away, execute their play calls
against an offense that seems to I mean, we've seen
a few.

Speaker 6 (21:32):
Weeks ago that it's extremely explosive.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
If you get Jamar Chase and t Higgins going, then
Chase Brown starts going like that that local motive I
talked about it being a local motive. Once it starts
gaining momentum, it's hard to stop. So if that man
plays It's going to be the game that I think
we're all gonna want, gonna want to watch, not the
game I want to watch, certainly.

Speaker 8 (21:53):
Not the game I want to watch it. I want
to watch the game where Jake Browning is in there
and like two pick six is from Kevin Bayer. That's
what I want. But look, man, the their secondary is
not healthy. It is not healthy at all. I mean
Kyler Gordon on ir, Jalen Johnson out for maybe the
whole season.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
But they signed a menace man in Chauncey Gardner.

Speaker 9 (22:15):
Johnson for that's right. CJ's in there, so we'll see.

Speaker 8 (22:18):
Hopefully he can come in and make an impact right away.
They're looking to put him in that nickel position, and
I think he can make an impact in Dennis Aund's defense.
He can get down there and the line do some damage.

Speaker 9 (22:27):
Stuff like that. And maybe Tyreek.

Speaker 8 (22:29):
Stevenson coming back this week as well. But man, I'm
telling you this offense, you were focusing on a defensive battleman, tie,
I need the Bears offense to get going. I need
it to not get field goals. I need touchdowns. I
need efficiency out of that guy right there, eighteen. I
need him to get back to how he was playing
earlier in the season. I think early in the season

(22:51):
you saw him making progress from week to week. It
feels like they're in a holding pattern with Catle Williams
right now. He's kind of stuck wherever he's at. Whether
it's mental or physical, I'm not exactly sure. But he
was making plays early in the season. You've seen that
kind of pull back a little bit, and they got
to prove that they can win games not forcing four turnovers.

Speaker 9 (23:12):
That's not going to happen every week. This is the NFL.
That's just not going to happen every week. You can't
count on that. So I'm hoping that Chicago Bears can go.

Speaker 8 (23:19):
Out offensively, put on a little bit of a show
in Cincinnati, and write that ship.

Speaker 9 (23:24):
Because the pieces are there.

Speaker 8 (23:26):
I like what I'm seeing as a Bears fan out
of out of the team on the offensive side. I mean,
you've got the playmakers right there. DJ Moore, Rome's having
a great sophomore season.

Speaker 9 (23:36):
It's there.

Speaker 6 (23:37):
You just got I.

Speaker 9 (23:38):
Want it all to come together.

Speaker 8 (23:39):
I want to feel I want to get I want
to get back to the progress that was being made
in the first four or five games. Of the season,
and I want to feel going into these division games
in the back end of the season some confidence. Yeah,
going into Green Bay, I need to feel that, you know,
I need to feel like we can compete with the
Packers this year. So that's my take on it. I
want offense to show out. I want Caleb to have

(24:00):
a game. That's what I want.

Speaker 6 (24:01):
Got what you think, Seth is right.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
I don't care who starts a quarterback for the Bengals,
Joe Flacco, Joe Burrow, Joe Montana.

Speaker 6 (24:09):
I don't care.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
It is about who is starting at quarterback for Chicago Bears,
because for Caleb and for Ben Johnson, there is a
feeling of if.

Speaker 6 (24:18):
Not now when why? Guys.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
The Cincinnati Bengals defense is terrible, and I don't relish
saying that, but that is a fact that's not just
by reputation. It's not just by what we see in
the final score. In points per game allowed, the Bengals
are thirty second in the league. In yards per game allowed,
the Bengals are thirty second in the league. In rushing
yards allowed, the Bengals are thirty second in the league.

(24:42):
And passing yards allowed, the Bengals are.

Speaker 7 (24:43):
Thirtieth in the league, so it's not all terrible.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
But Caleb, this should be a old Carnival shooting gallery.
Everybody cooks on the Bengals defense right now. I don't
care how old you are, how long you've been in
the league, how many coaches, how many coordinators you've had.
Caleb needs to set back and and connect and say, hey, guys,

(25:07):
everybody out there has got something smart to say about me.
All you morons who are saying, let's give a look
to Tyson Bagins, no, no, no, no, no no. I am
the number one overall pick. I am the franchise quarterback
Chicago Bears. You gave me a tomato can to get
in the ring with me, and I am going to
light them up. Please, for the love of God, Caleb.

(25:27):
And if it's not too much to ask, I would
love just a little more on schedule type throwing. I'm
not going to get deep into the x's and o's,
but after they get rid of the first series, which
is usually effective, Caleb drops back and does that and
it turns into this Sandlot Tech mobile Rucker Park pickup
basketball thing that where he just ad libs and runs

(25:47):
around and it's really impressive to watch.

Speaker 7 (25:49):
He's a great athlete, but that.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Does not a great quarterback make on time, on schedule, footback, ball, out,
move chains. You are going against the worst defense in
the league, not the thirty.

Speaker 7 (26:01):
First DFL, the last one in the league. Ding ding
ding ding ding.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Target practice, Caleb, It'll be like a nice warm blanket
as we head into November for Bears fans, it's time,
if not now.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
When it may be Halloween. But Kyle's already pushing the
Santa narrative by saying, it's not too much to ask,
but please, Caleb, give me me on time throws.

Speaker 9 (26:24):
It's good, it can be done.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Speaking of on time throws, Daniel Jones has been excellent
for the Indianapolis Colts. They have to go to Pittsburgh
to take on the Steelers this week, and a Steelers
team that's feeling themselves after a Thursday night performance. Mike
Tomlin's team. They've lost too straight actually, and it's been
a rough.

Speaker 6 (26:41):
Couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
But there's a lot of football to be played. Let's
take a listen.

Speaker 12 (26:45):
We make no excuses about how or why we fall short.
Our job is to perform and perform at a high level.
And we haven't done that, and so I'm excited about
getting back to it. Seven games or whatever doesn't make
a season. We certainly got more in front of us
and more opportunities to write our story, whether it's individuals,
whether it's a component of our team, or whether it's

(27:08):
our team in general. I think that's our general mindset.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Here's here's carl Orsa Gordon just looking at the schedule.
She's ticked off seven wins as ownership now of the
team after her father passed away this summer with her
two other sisters, only one loss which could have been
a win. And she's got Jonathan Taylor on her team
and she's just standing on the sideline like, mm hm,
I run this team. I've made these decisions. Man. Si

(27:33):
Coults are high octane and Indiana Jones a very very
easy costume for people this Halloween season. Look at us, Yeah,
playing each other this weekend ahead.

Speaker 7 (27:46):
To bring it, Paulamalo.

Speaker 6 (27:48):
So you don't know how good the Colts team is.
So we know the offense, let me tell you. I
went on a deep dive.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
I was trying to find like a weakness, and so
I asked Reachter, tell me find this weakness is run game,
is it? Short yardage is what is it? They got one, okay,
and that's the deep past. They are not good at
defending the deep pass.

Speaker 6 (28:07):
But that has a huge asterisk by it.

Speaker 4 (28:09):
Why because the Coats are beating people by an average
differential fourteen and a half points.

Speaker 6 (28:15):
That's two touchdowns.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
So the reason why I put the asterisk right there
is if you're going against the Coats and you're constantly
down by two touchdowns, do you think you're going to
be running.

Speaker 6 (28:24):
The ball a lot.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
Do you think you're going to be throwing short passes? No,
you're going to be bombing the ball down the field
in hopes to catch up. So when you understand that
dynamic and why they have that stat is because teams
are down so much that all they have to do
is throw deep passes. So obviously they're not going to
be good at defending the deep pass because they have
more opportunities to try to defend the deep pass because

(28:46):
that offense.

Speaker 6 (28:47):
Is just electric, it's almost unstoppable.

Speaker 4 (28:50):
And then the defense, they're really good against the run,
they're really good against the pass, they're good against third down.

Speaker 7 (28:56):
The only thing is the deep pass.

Speaker 6 (28:58):
But Again, I already.

Speaker 7 (28:58):
Explained to you the perspective of why that is.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
And so when I looked at this Colts team, it's
just like, can you really say anything negative about them?

Speaker 6 (29:08):
Like, you can't.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
They've got one of the best mascots too, So e
set That's what I took from it.

Speaker 9 (29:13):
Hey, I respected. I got a lot of respect for that.

Speaker 8 (29:16):
I got a lot of respect for the Colts, that organization,
what they have done in just a couple of years.
They were I mean last year and I would say
laughingstock of the league, but I mean there was a
lot and Pat McAfee had some jokes about his own
I mean, it was it was not a pretty picture,
and they turned it around under Daniel Jones. Now, I'm
gonna give all the credit to Daniel Jones what he's
been able to do after he's you know, kind of

(29:37):
bounced around after he left New York.

Speaker 9 (29:39):
Now he's here, he's found a home. He's slinging the ball.

Speaker 8 (29:42):
But this offense starts and ends with Jonathan Taylor. Yeah,
if the Pittsburgh Steelers can find a way to corral
Jonathan Taylor and make Daniel Jones beat them, they've got
a chance.

Speaker 9 (29:58):
To win this game and slow down this offense.

Speaker 8 (30:00):
To me, that's the only reason that that is the
hugest difference that I see watching this team compared to
last seam. Daniel Jones huge upgrade at the quarterback position,
but a healthy Jonathan Taylor is I mean, he is
playing lights out. This man is scoring in every single
way possible. He'll catch the ball in the backfield, He'll
run it up the middle, will run it out the outside.

(30:21):
If they can stop him, if they can hone in
on him and somehow find a way to corral Jonathan.

Speaker 9 (30:26):
Taylor, Pittsburgh's got a chance here.

Speaker 8 (30:28):
They got a good defense, they got veterans there, they
got Cam Hayward, they got what they got Ramsey, they
got the defense.

Speaker 9 (30:34):
They can do it, but can they do it? They
got to get out there and do it. That's the problem.

Speaker 8 (30:39):
And they've been some susceptible to some high powered offenses
this year.

Speaker 9 (30:43):
So we'll see, Kyle, we.

Speaker 7 (30:44):
Will see Listen.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
I think it is not only a really dangerous game
for the Steelers, this is a scary game. The Colts
will hang forty on you if you're not careful, like
just blink and there will be forty points on the
Colt scoreboard, which by the way, is in Pittsburgh, and
this is on the heels of the Packers going in
there and the Packers fans chanting for the Packers as
they see their team beat their old quarterback. This is

(31:07):
a simple roll call, and I'm going to call out
guys who need to have a big game against the Colts.
Cam Hayward, TJ. Watt, Patrick Queen, Alex high Smith, Joey
Porter Junior, Jalen Ramsey, Kyle Duggar, We could keep going.

Speaker 7 (31:21):
Those names that I listed.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Are guys who are largely paid, who are or have
been All pros, who have been in big games with
big teams and big seasons, and that defense right now
is getting pushed around. I don't think the Steelers have
a good defense. I think they have very good players
on defense. I think they have a very good defensive roster.

(31:43):
But it is expensive, it is glamorous, and right now
it is on roller skates. And if you are not
doing well stopping the run right now, if you are
not stopping anybody, you do not want to play this
Colts team because they got this blank face serial killer
thing from that quarterback who he doesn't care. He will
just pile it on Johnathan Dana we three hundred yards

(32:04):
if you let them. It's the offensive line is terrifying.
This is very Halloween theme, Like they are the killers
in the league right now, those guys in blue with
the horseshoe.

Speaker 6 (32:13):
So that is not a.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
Team to get right against defensively. It is the worst
team you can face right now. If you're the Steelers,
you'd rather face the Chiefs. You'd rather face the Bills,
the Ravens, the Eagles, you name it, anybody but the Colts.
But this is football, and the Colts are coming into
your stadium. You can wave those towels, you can play
that renegade. You can look at all your Super Bowl
banners from years past, but just don't be looking from

(32:36):
it from on your back, because it's going to look
upside down as Taylor runs over you. Somebody on the
Pittsburgh Steelers defense.

Speaker 7 (32:42):
Make a tackle or they will hit you with forty points.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Time for Aaron Ground Fantasy advice presented by FedEx.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
Unfortunately, the Giants lost Camp Scatta before the season, But
if you need some backfield help on your fantasy football team,
look no further than his replacement running back Tyrone Tracy Junior.

Speaker 6 (33:01):
He gets a great matchup against Forden.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Ninders this week allowed the sixth most receiving yards and
the most receiving touchdowns to running backs.

Speaker 6 (33:09):
Since losing Nick Bosa.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
The Niners defense have also given up the fourth most
yards before contact to running backs.

Speaker 6 (33:16):
So get Tracy in your line up.

Speaker 4 (33:19):
Next in lineup, I got Sherry burs Aka ms PAM.

Speaker 5 (33:23):
Ms PAM.

Speaker 7 (33:24):
Thank you Troy Well.

Speaker 5 (33:25):
We do want to say, in response to the devastating
impact of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica and those surrounding islands
you're seeing it here, the Arthur M. Blake Family Foundation
is granting two point five million dollars in hurricane relief.
The donations will provide much needed nourishing meals and water
along with ground disaster response and recovery.

Speaker 6 (33:48):
And for all those.

Speaker 5 (33:48):
Affected by this devastating hurricane, please know you are in
our thoughts, we are with you, we are hoping that
it is a quick recovery and the great work for
the Arthur Blank Family Foundation. Now when we come back
here on GMFB, we're looking at one of the biggest
matchups this weekend, kind of like that Bowl of candy.

Speaker 6 (34:06):
You might see.

Speaker 5 (34:07):
Bills Chiefs might be your receas might be your favorite
best game of the weekend. We're going to go around
the weekend for gmatbe.

Speaker 13 (34:14):
When we come back, Good morn football, Chiefs Bills and
a four to twenty five Eastern kickoff on CBS, as
it always should be in the regular season.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen.

Speaker 7 (34:36):
You love to see it.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
However, you must contain yourselves to one minute in this
round of mad Minute. We got a couple of games
to get to, gentlemen, Manti start us off. First, Chiefs Bills,
the obvious quarterback conversation.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
A quarterback conversation, let's stay on a quarterback conversation.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
Then Jame, what's going on with Josh? Josh, let's go.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
We talked a lot about Caleb Williams for the Bears
getting things going.

Speaker 6 (34:56):
Josh Allen, let's go.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
I think for the first few weeks of the season,
at least the first half, we haven't seen a Josh
Allen the MVP calibre yet.

Speaker 6 (35:04):
But I thought last week he started to get into
that form a little bit.

Speaker 4 (35:07):
So I'm waiting for that that Josh Allen take over
the game. Type attitude to come out and hopefully it
comes out this week.

Speaker 8 (35:13):
I'll take the other side of that, man, I'll take
the Chiefs. I'll look at that offense. They are red
hot right now, red hot, looking like the Chiefs that
we know and love.

Speaker 9 (35:21):
Are they going to be able to keep that up?
This game? This pressure?

Speaker 8 (35:24):
Pat Mahomes, he's used to it at this point, Travis
Kelsey used to it at this point. Or she rice
back looking good. Everybody is on fire in Kansas City.
I just want to see how many points these guys
are gonna put up.

Speaker 9 (35:34):
We Goin'll be a forty five forty two situation. Again,
what's this going to look like?

Speaker 6 (35:38):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 9 (35:38):
Let's go, let's stack it. I want to see you ride.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
Why does this feel like a preseason game to me?
I know it's glamorous and we got these two quarterbacks, Like,
are there real mistakes to this? The Bills win it
every year and they lose in the playoffs every single year.
I hate to poop poo the game. Just let's fast
forward to the moment we get in January and in
the meantime, Keon Coleman have a game and you're taking
a lot of heat right now from a lot of
people who watch a lot of football.

Speaker 7 (36:01):
Keon Coleman need to have a big one in Arrowhead.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
It's it matters. We're moving on in a mad minute.
The Patriots are on an nfl BUS five game win
streak right now. Meanwhile, the Falcons are trying to get
out of a slum Manti. They're looking at a great
AFC team and a clipped wing Falcon team.

Speaker 6 (36:18):
Yes, a very great AFC team. And listen, when you.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
Talk about the Patriots, there's a lot to talk about
Drake May and Mike Vrabel, but Christian Gunzalez, the dB like,
there's not a lot.

Speaker 6 (36:26):
Of talk about him. Guys.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
You know, in the past five games he's only allowed
seven catches. That's how dominant. Five games He's only allowed
seven catches. So keeping up Christian Gunzales, who's.

Speaker 9 (36:35):
He going to start for Atlanta?

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (36:37):
Yeah, who's it going to be? Is gonna be Penix?
Is he going to be in?

Speaker 8 (36:40):
Because that team looks different with Michael Pennix and it
does with Kirk Cousins. I will tell you that, and
I know one is better than the other. So if
we get Michael Pennix, in there we can talk about
a game. Otherwise, this is an absolute must win for
the New England Patriots because they got a show. You
want to be up there with the elite in the AFC,
you win these games.

Speaker 7 (36:58):
Yep, it's going to be rocking in Foxborough.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
They're feeling it right now, Pats fans you know, or
people in the media. They feel like something special is
happening right in front of him. And it's not just
the six and two record. It's not just Raybel, it's
Drake May, it's everyone across the board.

Speaker 7 (37:12):
If this one.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
Gets out of hand early, this is guys, this is
a Falcons team. They lost to that Dolphins team we
saw last night by a lot.

Speaker 7 (37:18):
I don't know what the hell that was, So be
careful because Foxboro.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
Is going to be rocking, Kyle real quick. We brought
it up this week to intrigue you. Mike Frabel brought
back the offensive introduction introductions for individual starters this week,
which for the first time since like two thousand and one,
So that actually might be why they're feeling themselves in Foxboro.
Drake May's like, I don't know, I have a lot
of swag and we're like you're six and two. You're fine,
all right? Moving on a mad minute in NFC Sunday

(37:41):
Night Class Seahawks on a two game win streak, taking
on the Commander's Kyle, who struggled last week in Kansas City.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
I just have a suggestion for anyone in the media,
any platform, any pod, any social account, when the Seahawks
win this game, talk about it, talk about them and
talk about it that they did it and it wasn't
just that what Washington let them do. It wasn't what
the Washington quarterback didn't do. It's okay once they get
to six and two, which I think that they will

(38:10):
to say, Hey, great job, Seattle. We're gonna give you
some airtime. You won't be pulled off the air for
giving thirty bleeping seconds in the Seattle Seahawks. Just give
it a try. You'll like it.

Speaker 6 (38:19):
I'm gonna try. I'm gonna try. KP.

Speaker 4 (38:20):
Do you know that the Seattle Seahawks defense has a
number one rush defense, yet they played the fourth most
split safety, so they're able to stop the run without
people in the box, like you know how hard that
is to do it. And then they have the fourth
highest pressure rate, yet the only blitz that blitz thirty
first in the league, so they don't blitz that often,
yet they applied pressure. That's how good this Seahawks defense is.

(38:42):
So I'll talk about the Skawks, all right.

Speaker 8 (38:43):
I'll talk about Jon Daniels, then I'll talk about it.
We need a sophomore slump.

Speaker 7 (38:50):
Injured, injured who knows. Yeah, he's feeling like.

Speaker 6 (38:54):
You right now in the sling.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
He's like, I don't know what's going on with my life,
but I had to take a little break here. Seth
might be not unable to give people the business the
next six months, but that doesn't mean he can't talk
about his business.

Speaker 7 (39:07):
Seth.

Speaker 3 (39:07):
What are we looking at right?

Speaker 9 (39:08):
I don't want to you know what we got?

Speaker 8 (39:10):
Cody Rose Roman reigned seeing Paul brock Lesnar, Paul Hayman,
all these jerks at the table, obviously the boss Triple Ah.
I don't want to say anything nice about anybody at
this pover table, So I'm.

Speaker 9 (39:20):
Not I'm not going to say nothing about him good.

Speaker 8 (39:22):
What I'm gonna say is it WrestleMania is back in
Las Vegas twenty twenty six April eighteenth, April nineteenth, two
day combo tickets on sale, now get them.

Speaker 9 (39:32):
You never know who's going to show up.

Speaker 8 (39:33):
Look, I might just rip this brace off and get
back in time for WrestleMania.

Speaker 9 (39:37):
We'll see how it goes.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
Oh man, wouldn't that be the ultimate troll? It was
a professional promo that you did. Just there, my friend.
This is our adult costumes. As we mentioned on GMFB. However,
we do have a throwback to our younger version. Sherry Burris.

Speaker 5 (39:49):
Yeah, so I was trying to think back how old
I was in this photo. But my best friend and I, Brianna,
we were Ballerina's here about the flowers and everything. I'm
thinking we were like five or six in this photo.

Speaker 4 (40:02):
But sweet you know two?

Speaker 7 (40:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (40:04):
Oh very nice?

Speaker 4 (40:05):
Yeah, sure, I think I was five or six in
mine as well. My dad he's big into Halloween and
so he dressed me up as sub Zero and.

Speaker 6 (40:13):
I was out there look at that.

Speaker 7 (40:16):
Yeay, guys, that's.

Speaker 4 (40:16):
A mass that he's spray painted like. I don't know
if that was safe, but I was up there smelling fumes.

Speaker 6 (40:21):
Night Country.

Speaker 7 (40:22):
Shout out to my dad.

Speaker 6 (40:23):
He's the math.

Speaker 3 (40:23):
We like to be our most authentic selves on this show.
So when I look for a Halloween photo. I had
to go back to that one. There I was as
Pebbles from the Flintstone.

Speaker 6 (40:32):
I really enjoyed that.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
And then I was Candy Reese's love It.

Speaker 7 (40:37):
That's your favorite Candy. That's what I was me.

Speaker 8 (40:40):
This is also when I was five or six years old.
Not not true.

Speaker 7 (40:44):
I was nineteen.

Speaker 6 (40:46):
Oh my god. The Devil a matter.

Speaker 8 (40:51):
Of comedy themed professional wrestling show, believe it or not,
Loath in Illinois.

Speaker 9 (40:57):
Wow, God bless me.

Speaker 7 (40:59):

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
