Speaker 3 (00:18):
Here in La Brandon Graham and Cali Brandt There in
New York which Kyle last night during the game, I
don't think I've seen that many New York Giants fans
in a very long time.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yeah, it was really cool. And those bands are buying
jerseys this morning.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
You can take your pick. Do you want to buy six?
Do you want to buy forty four?
Speaker 1 (00:34):
There's all kinds of choices, fifty one, whatever you want.
The Giants smoked the.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Eagles last night.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
They did it at home, they did it on national
quote unquote television.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
We have our favorite ego of all time.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Here. You've been awesome all morning talking about You've been
a gentleman, You've kept the glassy. I know it's not
an easy where you You probably feel like a little
bit hungover, right.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
You know what I'll do? I feel like I lost
this lost with them.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Well, guess what hair of the dog and the highlights
coming up? Folks, Here we go start the show. It's
Good Morning Football.
Speaker 5 (01:15):
Welcome to Good Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Good morning to the New York Jets. Tough morning if
you are at the Philadelphia Eagles, but we are happy
to have you here as we kick off Week six.
Sherry Mantai. Brandon Kyle, what an incredible start. If you
counted out the New York Giants, you were sadly mistaken
because last night in a divisional game on Primetime TV,
(01:40):
they put on a showcase, particularly Kyle.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Two rookies.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yeah, no doubt, let's just get into it. Blah blah blah.
Tough morning for the Eagles. They've had some great mornings.
It's fine. It's a great morning for the Giants, for
the New York Football Giants. In a week in which
the Yankees lose, the weather got cold, the Knicks are
allegedly going to do something this year. That man did
it last night. Here we go, Eli Manning in the house.
So many battles against the Eagles, so many Brandon Graham
(02:05):
three nothing down early though Jackson said, I got it.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Just follow me.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
I'm gonna do this with my legs. He's shown great
ability to scramble last night in the first three games, Brandon,
what do you see here?
Speaker 6 (02:16):
I see we just didn't hit home, you know, we
didn't rust together. And in the middle was wide open
and Jackson Dart made a play with his leger.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
We love Zach Vonnie's an all Pro. He was not
his greatest night, and Jackson dark took advantage of it.
Next possession, Jackson scrambling. This time he throws. That's Wandale
Robinson gets what He's gone. I'm gonna ruin it right now,
He's gone. How does a touchdown? Eagles down now? And
the place is rock and they're like, I know, we
only got one win.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
We got hope, we got juiced, we got bite. We
actually have something cool going on in MetLife Stadium for
either of the two teams.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
To play there.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Touchdown Giants, But would this thing come back? Was it
just a little excitement? And then the Eagles machine runs
him over. Hold on it' sec. That's a Super Bowl
MVP right there. He should have won it twice. Even
in a loss. He should have won it. Hey ja,
all right, okay, little medicine here, little shot the steel
good Brandon to watch it? Did?
Speaker 4 (03:08):
It started off really nice?
Speaker 1 (03:10):
All right?
Speaker 2 (03:10):
So he makes the play.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
He's trying to get involved.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Thirteen. This place is kind of funky.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Watch it. What underhanded pass to the tight end? Goddard
patient consistent. I'll tell you what, say what you want
about Davonte, about Jay whatever, he got great chemistry with
Dallas gott he loved Dalla's got it.
Speaker 6 (03:26):
He Dot gotta leave your tighty end.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Especially that guy.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I love Dallas got it too, all right. This is
the second straight tush push the second two second of four.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
They get the first down on the fourth inches.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
That is a false start, but it's impossible to call
because it happened so rapidly.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
They didn't call it.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Dab but was not a fan of it.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Then they did another one, and then.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
This is the fourth straight tush puss in your time there,
Can you remember him doing four straight in a game
or practice?
Speaker 4 (03:49):
No, that was the first time I seen it. But
good job on they part, No noub.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
I mean they would have done twenty straight if they
had to, and they probably could have. Jackson Dart he
doesn't fumble, but watch he's gonna take some contact up high.
Little fist pump not meaning anything respect. Jackson Dart would
get knocked out of this game, but.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Scatamo knocks things out of his way.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Touchdown, they're dancing. They're literally dancing in New Jersey. Saquon,
Who oh my gosh, that sign says a lot.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Saqua.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
I'm waiting for him to show up in this highlight,
but they just haven't been able to really unleash him
this year. And then there's this. This is on the
postcard for the Eagles loss. You finally got the deep shot.
Davante is wide open. What's he's saying on the bench?
Speaker 2 (04:29):
You thing brand?
Speaker 4 (04:29):
It's not characteristic. He knows Jaylen missed him, and you know,
just frustration.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Jackson, it's looking not frustrating. You're diving.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Wats the reverse angle of this. He launches himself like
I Honda and street Fighter, like just fully torpedoes his
own body, and Dable's like, great catch, Hey, don't ever
bleep into it again.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Scatiboo.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
I think al Michael's enjoyed saying his name. He kept
going Scataboo. It is a fun name to say. It
sim feels like a burble at Jackson dark He's so cool,
six seven, he should be number sixty seven. He's high
fiving the official, and I think the official even liked
Now he's getting a head butt from his coach. Camp
Scataboo twenty seven to seventeen.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
This is what I was talking about earlier.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Jackson's gonna scramble again, take some hard contact, rolls over
and oh no, no, no, no no. This is the
record scratch. This is exactly what you don't want to see.
Watched his head He goes off the shoulders, maybe the knee.
They take him off the field, They take him into
the tent. The entire attendance at MetLife Stadium went in
the tent. Russell Wilson goes in the game. Brian Daviel
(05:30):
goes in the tent. Dabel is frustrated, like this is
my big night. Look at him. We're exchanging words with
guys and jackets who look like doctors. He's frustrated. He
wants this guy out there, but the physician's trying to
do his own job. I totally respect and I'm sure
they respect each other. Up ten uh oh pick he
could go. Remember I said, Saquan hasn't been in the
highlights yet. Harry is making that tackle kind of like
(05:53):
Jamar Chase for Cincinnati Saquon saves the touchdown Cordelle flat
flo with two t's shout out and Jalen Hurts has
his faults, of course, but this is usually not one
of them. He does not throw interceptions because they play
a pretty conservative here's the problem. They were down by
a whole bunch of points. You can't play at conservative,
especially when Saquan's not in the home runs right now.
(06:13):
So Giants fans are like, take us home, and they
sure do. Scud aboo touchdown. Giants extendonar League were sticking
the landing like he's a let be done on the
gymnastics map, and guess who's done? The Eagles for the
nights thirty four to whatever, a three score victory for
(06:37):
the Giants at home on the zone with the rookies
against the world champs, and afterwards NFL Network Mike Garret Bola,
who sat next to us all week, caught up with
the man of the hour. Way to get him, Mike,
you did it, Jackson Dart and.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Mike, go ahead.
Speaker 7 (06:55):
I know you haven't been around here, but this is
not a team that this team has beaten very often
in the recent years. This is not a scene that
we've seen often singing New York, New York, the entire
crowded the two minute warning. Can you tell what tonight
means this organization in this team.
Speaker 8 (07:08):
Yeah absolutely, I mean this the city, this place. You know,
they just want to win more than anything. And I
think that that's why, like, as a competitor, you just
love to be a part of You love to be
a part of that standard. And we got to just
do our best to try to keep stocking these. But
this was this was a good one for.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
I don't think I've seen as many visitors to a
medical tent as I saw that you got, including camp scatable.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
You got to tell me, what's it like when he
ducks his head in there.
Speaker 8 (07:32):
I mean, he's crazy, bro, he's crazy, but he's a
baller man like us coming in here, and you know,
we're really just trying to change the culture of intensity.
And you know, he played off tonight, so I love him.
Speaker 5 (07:44):
Last one you've gone at least semi viral. You gave
the ref of high five. He had his hand up
and you were trying to convince him.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
It was a touchdown. I wouldn't tell him. I was
trying to tell them.
Speaker 8 (07:51):
I didn't know if you called it down or not,
so I was like, come on, bro, but uh no,
that was cool.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
That was cool.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
He is himself just so cool. And the sideline reporter
in me seeing everyone going into the medical tent at
the same time, you're like, what is going on? But
there was a sigh of relief at MetLife when he
finally came back out. What Jackson Dart and Cam Scattaboo
are doing for this New York team. It's a youth
movement and Scataboo really having his coming out party last night.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
Mantai.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
It was incredible to see what he was able to do,
handing Philly their first back to back law since twenty
twenty three. What stands out or what jumped out to
you most when you watched this one last week.
Speaker 9 (08:25):
Well, number one, the youthfulness and the craziness of those
two rookies.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
That the passion which they played with.
Speaker 9 (08:31):
But I think and follow me a little bit on this, guys,
because I studied this team, this Philadelphia Eagles offense in
the past two weeks, and I think the Denver Broncos
cracked the code for this offense. There are a lot
of talks about the second half of last week's game,
how the Broncos defense was so successful against this offense.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
And I saw a.
Speaker 9 (08:50):
Little switch in the pivot that they did where they
started the pressure, but they started to put zone behind it. Now,
what did that do that forced Jalen to throw with
anticipation is and that's not what he wants to do.
What so funny about watching the Giant last night was
it was a team that is used to running man.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Matter of fact, they run man.
Speaker 9 (09:09):
Coverage at one of the highest clips in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
However, they ran a lot of zone.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
And if you.
Speaker 9 (09:15):
Don't believe me, just listen to this clip during the
game when Kirk Herpstreet talked about this defense.
Speaker 10 (09:22):
When Jalen Hurts has had time and he starts to
move around, their eyes get fixiated onto the backfield of
the quarterback and they're losing. There's been gaping holes in
the back end and they've lost some receivers. Trying to
play more zone tonight. You know, they're the number one
team in the NFL playing man coverage, but against DeVante
(09:45):
Smith and aj Brown that's tough to do.
Speaker 9 (09:47):
So, as you can see, even herbshe started to talk
about how they're running zone and I think if you
start to watch these teams, everybody studies what was so
successful against a certain unit and running zone while putting
pressure on Jalen Hurts has seen to work for the
Denver Broncos in the second half for the New York
Giants defense last night. So if the Eagles can start
to identify how they can come back that, I think
(10:10):
they'll have a little bit more success on the offensive side.
But credit to the New York Giants defense for being
able to see what happened last week and what worked
for the Broncos last week and implementing it last night,
because I mean, they got a big pick, they had
a fumble, they were providing pressure on them. Brian Burns
had two sacks, I believe, So they definitely did their
homework on the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
BG.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Get in here, man, Ty you right, man.
Speaker 6 (10:33):
It's a copycat league and everybody always watches what beat
you the week before or whatever whatever team beat you,
and how they beat you and how they approached the game.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
And the New York Giants are trying to find their identity.
Speaker 6 (10:46):
They got two great rookies and Jackson Dart and Skataboo,
and man, they went out there and they put on
the show. And I got to say that the Eagles
definitely have to do some self self searching, some soul searching,
and make sure that for them that they are knowing
exactly what it is that they're giving away, since we
want to keep saying they're predictable and just going out
(11:07):
there and doing it doing going to find them finding
their way on offense together, because it was a little
bit of everybody yesterday.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
The defense.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Of course, they've been handling it all these last five games,
six games now, well five games and now we all
just we got a ten day window where we got
Minnesota coming up, and now it's what we with the
work we put in going forward.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
But the New York Giants.
Speaker 6 (11:29):
Went out there and played against a beat up Philadelphia
Eagles team. But on offense though, it's definitely predictable right now,
and them boys, man, I hope that they figure it out,
because man, I hate to see my Eagles like this.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
I never thought I'd said this about the Eagles, but
they were weak in the corps last night. You hear
about core strength, core strength, that's all important, not about
biceps and legs.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Core strength.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
The interior old line was weak. The interior d line
without Jalen Carter was weak, and I thought was abused
last night. You know their their their biceps and their
triceps are all the receivers and the running backs, and
obviously they need to do more too. But I mean,
the inside line alive for the Eagles is not what
it needs to be. It's not what it has been.
And look no further than Saquon Barkley's longest run being
eighteen yards. That's not Saquon. Saquon's hit. It's seventy seventy five,
(12:13):
eighty whatever. They just cannot get him going. But this
is a New York Giants conversation. If we had showed
up this morning and the Giants lost by seven points,
we would have said, nice job, you kept it tough,
you battled.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Good for you, you represented yourself.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Not only did they not lose, they won the game outrights.
They won the game, and it was not close. They
won the game by three damn scores. That was an
absolute butt whipping in the fourth quarter in which one
team was ready to go home and the other team
was literally dancing on the field. I am so happy
for the Brian Davile, New York Giants. They have earned this.
Let's keep in mind the players that were off the
field for the Eagles. The Giants' best player is Malik Nighbors,
(12:51):
and he is out for the season. Dart was supposed
to be lost without him. He looks calm, he looks
totally in control. This was a great win. And the
best part about the Giants is if you feel like
you got the Eagles back in the corner, covering up
what you get him in two weeks again, you get
a fresh meat again. You don't have to wait till
December to do it. Now, you go to Philadelphia in
(13:12):
two weeks and you do the same stuff over and over,
and you see if they can punch back. It's a
crazy night. That's one of the most unpredictable outcomes in
a game this year. I really mean that, nobody. Giants
by seventeen over the Eagles outlandish and it's true and
it's a reality. And the Giants felt themselves in the
second half. I was really really impressed. Man, I give
(13:34):
some love to the Giants.
Speaker 9 (13:36):
Well, I think that the way that the Giants, we
gave a lot of love to the two rookies, and
rightfully so. Right I'm going to give a lot of
love to that old line, like that old line was
able to we all seen what that front could do,
the front for the Eagles, but that old line was
able to keep Jackson Dart safe. They were able to
keep Jackson Dark comfortable. And even when Jackson Dark got uncomfortable,
(13:58):
there were enough lanes where you saw Jackson Dart on
his first touchdown be able to scramble and score a touchdown.
So I think that it can't be emphasized enough at
the job at which this New York Giants offensive line
did last night, because guys, it wasn't too long ago
when this Giants O line was a liability for them.
They were letting everybody in. But last night they controlled
(14:20):
the line of scrimmage. To kb's point, the core of
the the Egles wasn't where we expected him to be,
But a lot of that had to do with the
offensive line for the Giants and them controlling the line
of scrimmage in the run game and keeping Jackson Dart
safe in the pass game.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
I'm glad you guys are giving I owned a call
out one thing from the broadcast.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
I absolutely loved the Amazon crew, both the pregame, postgame
sideline booth everything. I laughed last night and I smiled
when Kirk, Hurbs Street and Al Michaels were talking about
a very specific detail of Jackson Dart and here's the clip.
Speaker 11 (14:55):
You know a lot of people who haven't seen Jackson
drt what's the smudge?
Speaker 2 (14:58):
They want to know what that is. So that's an
ode to Star Wars, he said.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
In high school he did it.
Speaker 10 (15:04):
His boys were like, oh man, that's a great look,
and he said it's for Anakin.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
He said, it's a tribute to Starwood.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
All right, so let me explain, guys, Kirk al this
movie we're talking about where that basically stems from is
from five. All right, Kirk, you were doing College Game
Day at the time. You were very busy or with
Lee Corso. I remember Nick Lashay used to come on
a lot around O five and now Michael's you were
doing your last year in ABC with John Matten. So
I can understand why you would not see the highlights
(15:33):
or the movie rather. But I'm going to help you
out here. I'm gonna do some water first. This is
going to take a lot of energy.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Okay, Anakin Skywalker, Here we go. I'll help you guys out.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Annik was born on Tatooine, the son of Shmi Skywalker,
who was really the Kara Dart in this situation. Born
with freakish natural abilities because he had over twenty thousand
four sensitive medical loareans in his blood, more than Master Yoda,
he was called the Chosen One for his abilities. Jackson
Dart was touted as the future of usc when he
first got there and his swagger and his gifted arm talents.
Anakin started out humble, dangerous as a gifted pilot recruited
by the Jedi Order by Kui gon Jin despite Obi
(16:03):
Wan Kenobi thing, and he was too old and dangerous
to join the Jedis. Perhaps Obi Wan Kenobi is the
Lincoln Riley here who got to us s and was
more interested in.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Kayleb Williams than Jackson Dart.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Anakin was the general during the Clone Wars, when he
ostensibly endured the injury that led to that scar, though
what happens off screen in George Lucas claims to have
left it intentionally vague. Anakin questioned the Jedi Order, especially
after the death of his wife Patme, who died during childbirth.
He is recruited by Senator Palpatine, who is secretly Darth
Citius to join the Dark Side of the Forest. Stay
with Me now is Palpatine Lang Kiffin, who lured Jackson
from usc to join the Dark Side.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
At old Miss obi Wan Kenobi.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Finds out about Anakin joining the Dark Side and feels betrayed.
He travels to the planet of Mustaphar to find Anakin
and please with him to reconsider. There is a vicious
lightsaber duel that ensues on Mustafar outside of the mining facility,
covered by rivers of lava. Obi Wan and Anakin fight
on top of a droid collector floating above the lava river.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Obi Wan had the high.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Ground and kept leading with Anakin that the fight was over,
but Anakin insisted and kept attacking. Obi Wan promptly steppers
his limbs. Obi Wan yells you are the chosen one,
as Anakin has left hanging on the droid collector and
slowly slides into the lava. Obi Wan retreats. Darth Citius
or Palpatine or the Emperor finds Anakin and takes him
back to the planet of corus Son, where a black
suit awaits him and he becomes Darth Vader Anakin is
(17:09):
a deeply layered yet tragic figure who is only redeemed
in episode six. For Dart it was week six. Giants.
Fans are saying, Jackson, we will embrace you, we will
love you. Jackson says, you already have you already have.
(17:29):
That's the best I can do. Guys. I love you,
I love Jackson, Dry, I love al I love Kurt.
You guys can handle the deep football minutia. I can
handle this stuff. Anytime you tag me in. That's how
we'll do it next time. See next Thursday night. I
love you, guys. Everybody taking notes, but I had to
be breathing. But geez, you stayed with me.
Speaker 9 (17:50):
I saw, I saw beg. He was locked in, just
going this fall away. I was trying to write some notes,
but that was a I will admit.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
I've actually never seen all the Star Wars start to finish,
so that was a very good degree. Yeah, I'm getting
the vibes here, Use the.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Force, use the force. Braced the dark side as that
guy does.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Let's go, Jackson, here we go, BREGMFB coming. We'll send
you and bring balance to them. Giants.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
Not leave him in darkness. He is Morgan Monny football
after this.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Good morning.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Trevor under center, he slipped and he fell down. Trevor
fell down on the play. Now he's gonna try and
run in.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
He did.
Speaker 12 (18:44):
It's a touchdown. Trevor read it in. He read it
in touchdown. He got up, he fell down. There's a
flag in the end zone. It's against Kansas City. Trevor
Lawis read it in touchdown. Jackson Valve with twenty three
seconds ago.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
The slips six as they are calling that in Jacksonville
doing that in the last couple of minute seconds of
the game.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
So it is time.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Now we're looking around the slate on Sunday a little
round of mad minute. My friend's putting a minute, only
sixty seconds on the clock. So if the math is mathing,
twenty seconds each, going to go around average, yep, Starting first,
Seahawks Jaguars. The Jaguars coming off that thrilling win Manti
as we saw, do we feel like they can keep
this momentum against Seattle?
Speaker 2 (19:32):
It's going to be a challenge.
Speaker 9 (19:33):
I would say that, however, this is mad minute for
a reason, so I might make a few people mad
by saying this, But I think Travis Hunter should play
offense and offense only for a little bit, because if
you saw what he was able to do against the
Chiefs and those catches, like we knew that he had
elite ball skills where I'm at fifteen seconds, we knew
we had elite ball skills, and he demonstrated that against
the Chiefs. So let him continue to do that and
(19:55):
then maybe get him to defense. But he should be
offense or b jaim Hey.
Speaker 6 (19:58):
I like Jacksonville and the close one. If Trevor Lawrence
can use his beat him in the air and with
his legs, man, I think they had no problem of
winning this one.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
But it's definitely gonna be a close one.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
I like that we're starting the second with Seahawks Jaguars.
We've never done that before, but we should. It's a
really good game. There's so much focus right now, especially
where I am, that the Jets don't have any takeaways
and that the first team do not have any takeaways
through this many weeks. There's not enough to talk about
the Jacksonville Jaguars, who lead the NFL and takeaways with fourteen.
They are a very very good team. It's not just
the record they run and as I just said they
(20:30):
played defense. Sam Donald gives the ball away once or twice,
Jacksonville wins again.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Cherry, all right, there we have it.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
We got it just in on time. Next game, we're
looking at forty nine Ers.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Bucks.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
San Francisco won four straight games against Tampa Bay. But
Manti's kind of like the cardiac kids here that it
seems like Baker is just always able to.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Come up with the comeback.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Yeah, okay, so I'll go first.
Speaker 9 (20:51):
Yesterday we had a question on the show with the
Casey and Detroit game and saying if who would you
trust with the ball in their hands for the last minute,
and I said number fifteen, Patch Mahomes. There's only one
person that I trust more than him at this point
in his Baker Mayfield. I don't think there's anybody that's
playing at a higher level than Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
So I like the Bucks in this game.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
I think the Niners are the most impressive four and
one in the league, even more so than the Colts,
I really do. I mean the fact that Mac Jones
has just come in and decided to win in snow
big deals. I understand why Tampa is. They're pretty loaded.
Sam Frusco has been awesome. I would I would like
to see Christian McCaffrey run for one hundred yards. He
has a streak that goes back to Christmas of twenty
twenty three without a hundred yard game. I know he
(21:30):
does a lot of different things, but let's get him
going on the ground and see if you can't knock
off Tampa Bay. Because five and one for the Niners amazing.
Speaker 6 (21:35):
What do you think, Brandon Hey, I got to disagree
with you right A bial has been battle tested under
pressure and it will be no different in this one.
And it's gonna come down to the last drive. It's
gonna be a hard fault one. But I see Baker
Mayfield going out there. One thing it getting the kick
to win it all.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
We almost got there.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
To the Russer.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Let's look ahead to Sunday night, Lions taking on Kansas City,
and it's a very interesting Chiefs team, Kyle, and not
one we're really used to seeing.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Still hard game to pick right The Troit's probably the
best team in the NFL right now, but they're going
in the arrowhead. They've faced the team that while they're struggling,
they're still the Chiefs did Blan just go in there
and win this thing by seven or eight points, or
did the Chiefs finally say not on our watch? I
don't know they have. The Chiefs have more losses already
than they had all of last year, and they're playing
the best team.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
I think Detroit goes and wins this game.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Brandon, do you agree with me?
Speaker 4 (22:26):
I agree with that one. I'm gonna going with Detroit Lions.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
I think Jared Goff is going to have a great
day out there. It's gonna be a tough one because
of the crowd. They're gonna shut the crowd up really quick,
and I think they they're gonna have a good one
this one because the way Chandler Jones, I mean, what's
his name, Jones, Chris jo went out there that last game.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
Uh huh, Yeah, that shall be something.
Speaker 9 (22:47):
Yeah, that definitely wasn't a good look by you know,
Chris Jones. But he said in this pressure he thought
the play was over. I don't think that he's gonna
make that same mistake. I do like the Lions in
this game. However, I think the Chiefs respond, They bounce back,
and they showed the type of fight that we've been
used to accustomed to scene for the past few years.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Good job. Right at the buzzer, We're moving on Dylan.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
Gabriel getting his second start against the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Such a juxtaposition.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Aaron Rodgers, who's the oldest quarterback in the league, if
not one of them, against Dylan Gabriel Beiji getting another start.
How do you see this one playing out?
Speaker 6 (23:20):
I see Dylan Grabriau first challenge against the pass rush
this week, and man, I just don't see it. I
see Pittsburgh going out there and kind of.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
Dominating them boys. Man, and you know, I'm.
Speaker 6 (23:32):
Sorry to say Jim Sorez, but yeah, it's gonna be
one of them games.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
Have nightmares.
Speaker 9 (23:40):
Dylan Gabriel throws a really good out ball by his
outside receivers. The problem is when you play a team
like the Pittsburgh Steelers, they have a corner named Jalen
Ramsey that's really good at intercepting those types of football.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
So I like the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 9 (23:53):
I know that Aaron Aaron Rodgers has had some they
say he is like the worst quarterback by PFF.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Whatever, he will be fine this week.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Don't let the Steelers run away and hide with this
division guys, they go to four and one in this game.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Eventually, they got to have some losses.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Understand, the Steelers have not won the division in five years.
Rogers has not won the division in four years. But
who else do you like? If they win this game,
which they will four and one, the Bengals are broken,
The Ravens are broken. The Browns are the Browns. It's
like it's the last man standing in the division that
was supposed to be the best one in the league.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
It's tough and this is going to be Aaron Rodgers
first divisional game for the Pittsburgh going up in this one,
so we'll see if they can get back on top.
Next up, we are looking at Joe Flacco. Kyle took
us through a great journey of how he's been such
a journeyman. Now with the Bengals, he's starting Mantai against
the Packers on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Yes, he's starting to get some Packers.
Speaker 9 (24:42):
At least they got away to get the ball to
Chase and help Chase.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Brown in the run game.
Speaker 9 (24:48):
However, the green bit Packers are They're exciting. They have
a front that's going to play with you. They're going
to mess with you. So Joe Flacco has to be
very very good when he's calling protections because Michael Parsons
in the company, They're going to wrek havoc on when
they play.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
This game, and listen, the Joe Flacco thing is the
fun story. The Packers sh and nihilate this team. What
are we doing? The Packers after one week were thought
to be as the best team in the NFL, and
now their record looks some sort of social security umber.
I don't even know what I'm looking at. Right there,
you were at home, you are healthy, you were in
the late window. Joe Flacco is Joe Flacco. He's been
with the team about ten seconds. He's coming into Lambo.
(25:21):
That should not be a close game. Take care of business, Brandon.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
I'm sorry, but Bengals defense, Oh, I think trust Bengalos.
I don't trust him. I don't trust himself. I'm saying,
Jordan Love, just don't mess it up. Maybe because that
defense of yours, they gonna get after jokevill right, especially
because they can't open up the offense because he only
had a week, not even a week of preparation.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
So it's it's one of those things where I know that.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
Uh, Brandon, have you ever sacked Joe Flacco in your career?
Speaker 4 (25:46):
I think so, I think so, Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
What team was he on? Did you remember?
Speaker 4 (25:50):
It was on the Raiders?
Speaker 1 (25:51):
All right?
Speaker 4 (25:52):
Not the Raiders, the Ravens.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Okay, gods se if we can find Brandon Graham sacking
Joe Flacco at some point in the shot, we have it.
But Raider Ravens. He's probably on the Raiders to at
some point.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Well, speaking of the Ravens, they take on the Rams
and they're just struggling right now. There are so many
injuries right now for Baltimore that it seems like a
feast for the Rams.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Biji, it seems like a feast.
Speaker 6 (26:12):
But man, if I know Don Harball and he's gonna
go out there and talk to his team, He's gonna
hie them boys ready to play as bad as the
defense man. They got to click somehow, someway, and I'll
just see them pulling it.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
Out on this one. Beginning the running game going with
Derrick Henry.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Well, the running game is infamous right now because Derrick
Henry has lost a bunch of fumbles this year. Kyn
Williams has lost a bunch of fumbles this year. I've
seen both of these guys do those shot out on
the bench, whether e they're heading their hands.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Remember Derek Kenry was.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Like a falling off the bench so mad at himself.
This is I'm calling at the ball security ball because
you know there's time. They're gonna be more punches in
this one than more gotty, Like everybody's gonna be punching
every single ball. So guys high and tight, Let's not
lose the game.
Speaker 9 (26:56):
High and tight and throw the ball high to the
Bonte Adams.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
If you're the La Rams.
Speaker 9 (26:59):
I know Pukino Kua is catching almost every single ball
thrown at him, but I think to take this Rams
offense to the next level, you have to get DeVante
Adams more incorporated in this offense than just bring a
deep koy.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Jerry. We have a special picture, Brandon Graham. I want
your thoughts on this photograph. You're not it's not you
sleeping this time. It's something I was talking about.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
It it is, Oh yeah, there it is.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (27:23):
Is that Baltimore too? Me and bo Allen, me and
bow Alan. We got him half sacked right there.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Now. The half sack is that always frustrating?
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Like, come on, now you look like you have at
least I don't know about that.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Maybe I'll get you to the time.
Speaker 6 (27:37):
Most of the time, when you get that half sack,
it's who you get the half sack with.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
Bo my guy. Oh yeah, okay, cool, that was.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
A good one. I might have fought it if it
was somebody else.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
No, I think both worked hard for that. You know.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
It was the fighting amount of time. Fletch. It didn't
matter if he was his boy or not. He wanted to.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Oh yeah, I heard that about Fletch.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
He's talking about Fletcher Cox and go give me a half.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
At least give me three quarters of not half.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Negotiate.
Speaker 6 (28:01):
I remember he lost one too, trying to go trying
to be slip for real. Yeah, he lost one trying
to be slick and getting the hair.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Well, you know the sound of that music means we
are going across the pond. Week six, continuing Broncos against
the Jets. They're in London, coming your way, Sunday, nine
thirty am Eastern on NFL Network and NFL Plus.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Now we're going to.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
London, our friend Richard Graves Jets just getting there. It
is a beautiful looking fall day for you guys out
there give us more of what we can expect, and
we're looking forward to Richard coming up on Sunday.
Speaker 11 (28:34):
Well, Sherry, we could have some good news potentially for
this Jets defensive front. Jermaine Johnson. We haven't seen him
in the last three weeks, dealing with an ankle injury. Well,
a few moments ago we witnessed practice. He was out
there again a little early this morning. Head coach Aarin
Glenn said he would be ready to go to face
the Broncos this weekend. Offensively, the Jets know they're going
to have their hands full. They're going up against the
(28:55):
Broncos unit that ranked number two in points allowed. They
lead the league with twenty one sacks this season, and
to that end, quarterback Justin Fields was asked earlier this
week about propensity to hold onto the ball. He said, look,
I'm not a fan of that stat I don't think
it's a good indicator. Any scrambling quarterback is going to
hold the ball longer than if you're a pocket passer.
(29:15):
But in an apparent nod to the quality of the
opponent this weekend, he did say it is always important
to get the ball out fast to help your offensive alignment,
and it's going to be super important this weekend. Make
no mistake, the Jets aren't here to roll over. They're
here to win a game. And to that end, head
coach Aaron Glenn said he likes the vibe that's been
around the place this week. He likes the way the
group's come together, and he finished today by saying, it's
(29:37):
time for us to get the job done. Sherry.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
All right, you're there in London.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
There's no distraction, Richard. We appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Enjoying the game Sunday.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
What we're talking to you in a little bit.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
That game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a Premier League? Which
team will be more premier in this one coming out
on top. We'll have to wait and see when we
come back here. Baker has been great on and off
the field. We expect anything less. No, we're going to
rattle off some of his better salm when we come
back here on GMFB.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Good Morning football.
Speaker 13 (30:20):
I told you guys, try and not get too high
and not get too low, which is something that I
was not doing early on in my career. But you know,
early on in my career. Yeah, it's looked as cocky, immature.
Now it's moxie. He's a dog. So it's same different days.
Just as long as you play well, they change the narrative,
but you just got to be yourself and I've always
been like that man.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
But we just love watching Baker Mayfield and all that
moxie that he was talking about. We get a match up,
Buccaneers hosting the forty nine ers coming your way on
Sunday afternoon, and it has been such a treat to
see the way that the forty nine ers have been playing,
considering they have had so many injuries, pulling off some
upsets you might call it, but looking at the Buccaneers side, Mantai,
(31:02):
it has been impressive. They're comeback but also a young player,
a Mecca Abuka. When you look at what we have
coming up Sunday afternoon, what is jumping off the page?
Speaker 9 (31:11):
Well, it starts with number six, you know, and I
love in that clip that he talked about. He's the
same person, but the narrative changes, you know, it also
changes the winning like when he solves a lot of problems,
and Baker Mayfield has been a winner as long as
he's had that Buccaneers jersey on for them.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Now.
Speaker 9 (31:27):
I do love his leadership. I love how he represents himself.
He's unapologetic. And then you also have a really good
rookie and then Mecca Abuka that has been playing at
a level that we haven't seen in a while and
has represented himself and his family and his alma mater
in a way that I think every rookie should.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
Now you do have Chris Godwin that's back.
Speaker 9 (31:47):
It's just a matter of time until Mike Evans comes
backh Irv Bucky Irving hasn't been in last week, he
might not be in this week. So they're still being
able to play at this efficiency and play at this
high level and put so many points on the board
without some of their guys. And then you're running to
the Champtions score forty nine ers team that has the
same situation where they don't have guys, and then yet
(32:08):
last week they pull off a big win against an
NFC West opponent in the LA Rams. So both teams,
historic franchises, great ambassadors of the NFC, and it's gonna
be a head to head competition against who wants him more.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
And I can't wait to tune in.
Speaker 9 (32:25):
I can't wait to twin in Sunday for twenty five
Eastern one five our time.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
BG.
Speaker 6 (32:31):
Yeah, man, it's gonna be my game of the week
right here. You know, I can't wait to see what
Baker dial up with in Bouque.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
And you know it's gonna be a hard fire battle. Man.
Speaker 6 (32:39):
I really do see them boys playing, you know, really hard.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
You know.
Speaker 6 (32:43):
I love I love the coaching for both sides of
the ball. Uh And man, I just can't wait to
see them boys go out there and just put put
together not so close game, but I think that Tapa
definitely is gonna come out.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
I'm gonna say two scores, two score.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Two scores.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
What a great SoundBite. And I know the fisher jumping
into the boat. Right now with Baker Mayfield conference, you
just can't mess's unconscious.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
Anything he says is compelling.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
But it's so true that he says, when you're young
and you're out there talking or chirping, it's looked at
arrogant and immature. And now it's moxy and it's he's
got the dog, and it's it really is calling out
the nonsense of those storylines. But he is I think
probably the most much washed player in the NFL right
now and Josh Allen's amazing. I know some of the
(33:29):
most exciting players like Lamar are hurt, but I mean
you just have to watch Baker every single weekend. Brandon
as a guy who is paid to chase guys like
Baker Mayfield. What are your impressions of him as a
player and as a guy who never shut up when
you were on the field. What do you think about
him talking?
Speaker 6 (33:42):
Hey, I will say, Man, when you're talking, you got
to back it up, and I will he has backed
it up in a way where he's hard to He's
hard to sack. For one, if you go back, you
look at how many sacks heat and broke, and then
how many times he extended plays.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Man, he has done a great job.
Speaker 6 (33:57):
Then he's for him to be talking stuff and been
bounced around in the beginning of his career, it was
a good learning lesson for him, But I want him
to be him. Like you say, it's a different narrative, Moxie,
I like it. You know, you more season a little
more and so yeah, man, I could relate to that
because you got to back it up if you're gonna talk.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
Also, listen four and one at the bottom of the screen.
Both those teams in wildly different ways. This is a
massive game. Whoever wins this game is going to the playoffs. Guys,
you're five and.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
One year in, like you are going.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
I know, crazy stuff can happen, but percentage just say
it will not high stakes. I feel like Tampa's just
cruised more or less. They just win every single week,
almost all every single week. At the end of the game,
and then it's been this typical Shannahanian type crazy journey
where they're on crutches and they got a bandage all
around their head and they're still winning. Like we haven't
seen Kittle in weeks, We're never going to see Bosa
(34:48):
for the rest of this season. But then you just
look down, it's four and one and you beat McVeigh.
It's just very very impressed with San Francisco right now.
This If they get to five and one by beating
the Baker experience, then it's like, are they a really
good team Mantai or do they just have a really
good record and really good character.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
I think it's a really good team.
Speaker 9 (35:08):
You know, when you look at a team like that
that continues to produce without you know, with everybody having
such low expectation, I think you have to look at
that team. I know we're talking about this game, but
one thing that I'm also looking forward to is a
miked up version of this game, because you know we
were talking about Baker likes to talk, but Fred Warner
also likes to talk. And there's nothing better than hearing
(35:29):
a quarterback and a linebacker in the middle of a
cadence go back and forth with each other, post post play,
go back and forth each other with each other. So
there's going to be so many things we're going to
look at, so many things we're going to celebrate about
and dissect on this show that I'm really excited to
see a KB.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
I just think back to Kyle's right to get you there,
like the Fred Warner just running off the felt helmet
flying back. There is just so much moxie too when
you think about all the players. But I definitely want
to give Mac Jones his flowers. The way he's been
able to step in, you know, that shrug that we
saw from him, what he's been able to do in
a backup role. Kyle has also been spectacled. It's a
(36:04):
surgeons almost of Mac Jones.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
Well, it's so much so that, listen, Mac Jones may
be starting somewhere next year. We don't know how that's
gonna go out. We have seen this happen before. There's
a reason that Sam Donald is where he is because
he was in Minnesota last year and he was on
the bench for Kyle Shanahan the year before. He wasn't
even doing what Mac is doing, which is coming in
and winning games like it's no big deal. Mac Jones was. Listen,
do you remember anything about his time in Jacksonville. I don't.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
I barely remember that it happened. He was a Jaguar.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
It was just like this blank experience where it's like, well,
I guess that's it for mac Jones. Let's put some
funny pictures where he looks to be not muscular in Alabama,
and let's put him in the picture of Tua and
Jalen and let's.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Make jokes about him.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
Well, now he's like, he's been incredible. He's been really, really,
really good. And if you know, things continue, like mac
Jones is gonna be like, yeah, I'm ready to start somewhere.
I'm gonna do the whole Sam Donald experience. Brandon, I
know you got a lot of things going on your
head about this game. What else did you want to
add about Niners versus Bucks.
Speaker 6 (36:59):
Hey, you got to give credit to Shanahan too, because
mac Jones has definitely benefited from this system. You've seen
Rock Party who's benefitted from the system. It's a good
thing he's matched up with the coaches because that's important
when you when you were in the NFL, it's about
who you matched up with. You see guys that leave
other teams that, like you said, you ain't know nothing
about Jacksonville mc jones, but you know about forty nine
(37:21):
ers mac Jones. So that's a credit to the coaches,
the scheme that they run, and that then you find
a perfect fit because that stuff really does matter and
it helps people careers and researchers.
Speaker 9 (37:32):
Like you said, yeah, it's not just helping mac Jones,
but it's also helping Kendrick Bourne and all types of
guys that Kendrick Bourne just got there like I think
two weeks ago and then had a career high last
week against the LA Rams. So again to what everybody
is saying, it's a system that is well run. It's
a system that is when executed well, you have those
types of results where you're going to situation where I
(37:53):
don't think anybody thought that the San Francisco forty nine
ers had a chance against the La Rams, and then
they pull off a gutsy win both offensively and defensively.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
It wasn't just the.
Speaker 9 (38:01):
Offense producing at a higher clip and converting all of
those third downs, but it was the defense coming up
with big time turnovers, stripping Karen Williams on the goal
line and then causing that turnover.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
It's just a complete team effort.
Speaker 9 (38:15):
And sometimes guys, when injuries do occur on the team,
the rest of the guys come together. The bad teams
they usually split apart, but guys like San Francisco, the
reason why we are talking about them most oftentimes than
not in the postseason is this is a team that
no matter what happens, trials, tribulations, adversities, they tend to
just come together more times than not.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
So respect to.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
Them, diversity, bonding them all together. Sanfrando has won the
last four straight games against Tampa Bay.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
But do not sleep on this one.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
It is beg's game of the Week two four and
one matchups excellent football. Do not miss that one.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
This is the last segment of Good Morning Football before
the weekend. There's some games we're looking forward to this weekend,
some really impressive, slick looking graphics. There it's not even
this weekend, and my eye goes down to the bottom right,
Caleb versus Jaden. They're going to the same stadium as
the Hail Mary. The Commanders are wearing the same uniforms
as the Hail Mary. And I looked at Tyreek Stevenson,
who became the face of the Hail Mary for the
(39:11):
defensive back of Chicago Bears.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
He talked this week about how.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
The criticism he took after that when he was seen
looking in the crowd when the ball was snapped. He said,
it was really really hardsh It hurt my feelings being
a football player. Even when my son grows up, I've
got to explain that to him. It definitely hurt, but
I'm just using it as fuel. We don't need feel
to watch this game. It's a headline game between two quarterbacks,
but a million different storylines, and I completely celebrate the
(39:34):
petty of the Commanders wearing the same uniforms. They were
in the same stadium. Brandon Graham to my right, Bears Commanders.
Even though it's Monday, we're talking about a Friday. Who cares.
What do you think about this game?
Speaker 6 (39:43):
I think the Bears go out there and get them away.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
Man.
Speaker 6 (39:45):
Yeah, I like the Commander has been struggling. They've been
struggling a little bit of Jay Daniels just got back
and he's a little rusty.
Speaker 4 (39:54):
I like to bring the Bears in this beg.
Speaker 9 (39:56):
He was a little rusty with them pink cleats on
old BG. Once he switched them things, he started to
play like that rookie of the year that we've.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
Been used to seeing.
Speaker 9 (40:04):
I'm really excited about this this game. I know they
were in the same jersey as the Commanders are. They're
playing in the same place. However, the Bears are going
in there with a new head coach and what he's
been able to do with Tayler Willing so far.
