Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Do you met me on a Friday?

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Lawrence, Guy Rashad Jenny's manteo. This may be my new
favorite combination of guests on gmt B.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
We have had an absolute blast this week. It's Friday.
We got things of this scouts.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
As you can see, we have all thirty two caps
at the table and we're going to talk about your
team right now. Let's figure it out.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Start it.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Good football, that's right, gmt BE on a Friday, May sixteenth,
Lawrence Shad Mansai.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
How's everybody doing?

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Amazing? Amazing for shod.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
You've first really couple full.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Days co hosting with us. This is no guest segment,
which I know you've done before.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
How does it feel?

Speaker 4 (01:02):
It feels great.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
It was better than the way your shoes look and
those things look amazing. Oh but it's fun, man, this
is we're talking football. We got I feel like a
family locker room over here's a good time.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
My shoes have flowers on them, all right, My gosh,
if we're going to talk about them, we might as
well they got the flowers.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
We're in the lights and I'm having like they're not vulcro.
They are kind of velcro. Wow, would you look at that?
But you guys, I can tie shoes because I'm currently
teaching my five year old how to do that. Come on,
let's do a no cap.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Okay, yeah, we don't want to put that narrative out
there that I can't tie a shoe. Okay, it's to
keep the laces protected, Okay, as kickers try to do.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Let's grab a cap.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
We're gonna play no cap and we're gonna have some topics.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
You guys, reach for your hat.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Put the hat on if you so choose to, if
you're having a good hair day, sorry LG. And then
you got to focus on your commentary about this team.
Grab the cap of the player on a new team
whose debut you are most excited to see in week one.
You look so intense right now.

Speaker 5 (02:01):
I am so intense because this guy's intense and he's
going into an intense defense, one of the best defenses
in the NFL last year.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
And it just got better because I'm.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
So excited to see Tollano, who fung a dress up.
That's my Toko, that's my that's my brother. It means brother.
In Tonan and saw one to see him back there
for the Denver Broncos, matching him up with Patrick Surtain,
matching him up with Dre Greenlaw, match him up with
that defensive front that continuously rigged havoc in the backfield.
What the Broncos did this offseason with that defense?

Speaker 4 (02:33):
It was already a top.

Speaker 5 (02:34):
Five defense at almost every defensive category. But what it's
about to look like they took the two engines of
the San Francisco forty nine ers defense and put it
in their car.

Speaker 6 (02:44):
And now that Bronco was running with a bunch of horses.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Baby, let's gold Bronco.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
You commonly were heads backwards, right I do. Yeah, let's
flip that around. This looks strange on you.

Speaker 7 (02:53):
That's great, Yeah, Tea, Jimmy knows the bron.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Like, why does that look so odd on MANSI? That's
that looks much better.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Okay, I'll get.

Speaker 8 (03:03):
I'm a d lineman. I'm going to go with the lineman.
And the guy I've been watching since twenty eighteen is
Jonathan out. Oh let me see that fits me? Yeah,
cover up my low hair. This guy has been dominant
every single year in the league. And when you look
at what he's doing. Been over fifty tackles total tackles

(03:27):
per year, per years. And he's going into this defense
with b Flow, who was my coach, and I know
what he's going to get out of him. I don't
see pure dominant. I'm going to enjoy to see this
defense coming building together. And this is kind of what
we're missing with this team, a dominant defense. And he's
gonna be a great talent out there with them.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Yeah he is, Man, that's a good call. That purple
looks on you.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
Man, thank you.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Go ahead for Sean, are you over here?

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Let me get that till right there.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
I wait to see Travis Hunter get out on that
football field and do what he do.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
The Swiss Army knife, the multitude I say.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
I've been renovating homes and one of the things I
love is a multitude because you could do a lot
with it. This guy can play offense defense.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
He don't need to come off the football field.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
He's already said to everybody, there's twenty four hours in
the day. I'm gonna sleep eight of them things in
the sixteen others. I'm dedicated to football and in due baal,
that's what we need, and I'm excited to see what
he does.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
That is perfect.

Speaker 6 (04:30):
Damie, what good?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Oh my gosh, No, I wasn't prepared to go. I'm
more impressed that you guys all kept your hats on
at the table. You guys look like you look at
two three you figure you.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Look like you know, you know what you like.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
The little boys in elementary school who like, you're allowed
to wear your hat to lunch, to like lunch or something,
and you're like, wait, I'm gonna put this on before
I get to go to my lunch table.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
All right, it's awesome. That is awesome.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
So wait real quick, plause, clarify the Travis Hunter for
you. You would start him like if you had to go
ninety percent, would you go ninety offense, ten defense or
the other way.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Around the other the way around.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
I'm putting him on defense defense primarily, and I'm putting
in packages for offense, red zone especially, And then to
start off the game, give them a quick bubble screen,
let him do his dance, get the fans excited, get
him out at the pool. Jacksonville needs something, and he.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Has a marketable as all get out. This is okay.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Ready, take your hats off and put them back on
the table. All right, we got these three former players
at the table right now. The schedules are now out.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
For the season.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Grab the hat of the team, whose helmet that you
would want to put on for one last game?

Speaker 2 (05:35):
LG. I don't think you filed papers.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
I know maybe you're still considering playing another season.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
I'm not sure. I don't want to offend your retirements.

Speaker 8 (05:42):
I'm looking for that. I have a former player. Technically
I'm still active.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
You're right, but he hasn't hit. You said you looked
under the table like you're ready to go. Look at
those wheels.

Speaker 8 (05:56):
What are we doing? I'm just ready to do it.
She is prime body shame.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Phrase.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
If you guys could put a hat on a helmet
on a team that you picked that hat, LG, be
a free agent, sell yourself to one of these teams
and say, hey, I'd love to put the helmet on
for you next year.

Speaker 8 (06:16):
You know what, when it comes down to teams and
when it comes down to defenses, I'm a defensive guy.
I need to go on defensive teams. And I understand
it's a lot of things up in the air for it, but.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
I would do it. I'll go to Pittsburgh.

Speaker 8 (06:32):
I know I played for the Ravens. I get the rivalry.
I love the black and Blue game. As a part
of the black and blue game. It is what it is.
This team is known for defense. There has been stars
after stars, as the stars, you name it. They played
it right now with me on there. I know we're
two old people, me and Cam and like we all know,

(06:53):
we're we're both.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
All over podcasts though you know, it'll be amazing.

Speaker 8 (06:57):
Like each other. But he has hair and I don't
have hair. But it is what it is. But this
is what I'm talking about. We go to a defensive
state of mind. I want to you need to go
to a defensive team. And this is what they've always
been known for is defense and dominance.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
It's a good one. It's a really good one. All right.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
So we know now now the Steelers know you put
them on notices.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Go ahead for shut what you got.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Oh you know, I showed some love to Jacksonville, showed
some love to New York.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
But now I got to go to Daradas. Help me
out there with that. Wow, I'm going.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Back, baby, get me in the black hole. I want
to go play in Vegas for one time. I'm gonna
tell you why. Here's why. Because I saw the roster
and they played the Texans. Every time I've ever played
the Texans, I.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Set up pr I don't know what.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
I'm surprised that was not the team through free agency.
That the first time I played against them, around for
one oh two as a rookie. Next time I played them,
ran for one twenty. Next time I played on round
for one forty. And then in New York I played
and I ran for one seventy five. Just keep going
those time. It keeps going up. So I don't know
why they never.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Picked me up.

Speaker 8 (07:57):
I heard of the defensive lineman I got one.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
I'm like, I'm like, oh.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Amiga Ryants. It's like please, don't please.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
There, and then I get to be beside. I championed
him the whole time while he was in college to
break every single record and be a Heisman. I'm happy
Travis Hunter won the Heisman Trophy. It was outside of
a quarterback winning it. Now, I feel like it's more
of an open, actual Heisman Trophy winning championship now. But
I do, like I do want to see him run

(08:29):
the ball, so you know, I love him, mentor him,
give him some advice along.

Speaker 8 (08:32):
If they have to do with the Death Star too.
It's like the staateum of nickname the Death Star. If
you're a big Star Wars fanly that's the epic place
to be.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
See, that's what we're gonna bring you in, you know,
with with with yours anime and understand all that you
come over here too, may I don't know why you
didn't pick up.

Speaker 8 (08:47):
The head Adam Bumer's on that team. I'm like, hey,
we could, we could join the Anime Club.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
There and.

Speaker 8 (08:56):
See I'm saying I got the sleeve and everything. We
get the Anime Club. The Death Store wasn't a Star
Wars commercial, okay, so we could. They wouldn't let me
keep the life saving.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Say you were going to Star Wars commercial. My gosh.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Kyle Brand has never regretted not being on the show
right now. That's actually having gotten to know Ashon Genty
the little bit that I did ahead of the NFL
draft and interviewing him on the stage. You two have
a similar spirit, so I actually could see you being teammates.
I think that'd be a really cool running back room.
Pete Carroll would love you guys. Oh yeah, Carol would
all right, man Ty, what you got has.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Made that bolt up hat Bret.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
So unlike Rashad Howat said, he kept getting better and
better and better every year that he played a team.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
When I played for this team, I sucked. I'm not
gonna lie I was trash you A.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
I didn't play so well when I was a Charger,
and I wish I could suit back up with the
charge of matter of fact, Tom ti LESCo after I
signed with the Saints, I had a really good first year.
We came back to California my second year with the
Saints and I got to talk to him. He was like, man,
I'm so happy for you. Like you, Bald, You're the
player that I knew you could be coming out No Dame.
So I would love to play for for the Chargers.
So that number one, I could kind of play well

(10:06):
for them. But number two, I would love to play
for Jesse Minter. I mean, the guy just he is
a wizard when it comes to calling defenses, structuring his defense,
and he doesn't run a lot of men. He's he
runs I think the second most percentage of zone. I
don't know about you, but if I saw rushot. I'm like, nah,
I ain't playing no man covers. So I would love

(10:28):
to shoot suit up again for the for the Blue
and Goat.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Well, you know last year when you were stopping in
on the show every once in a while, didn't you
stop buying chargers practice?

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Did you play Scout run, Scout Team or something nice?

Speaker 5 (10:39):
Yeah, So I went to the boat. First of all,
LG LG was with me in San Diego. It's a
totally different facility. That thing is state of the art. Anyway,
I go there. Jim Harball tells me, Hey, I want
you to come out for for walk through, and you know,
I'm I don't want to be in I don't want
to be a nuisance. I oh, look at those clips
of the odor. But he tells me come out for

(11:00):
the walkthrough and I don't want to be a distruction.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
As I know, I'm cool pol She's like, no, come out.
So I go out there.

Speaker 6 (11:04):
I didn't know that he wanted me to be a
part of the walkthrough.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
I was part of the show team, bro.

Speaker 5 (11:09):
So I'm in there with Nick Hardwick and Nick Hardwick's
running the show team for the supply and we're communicating
like I'm using burgers like are.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
We rocking and rolling?

Speaker 6 (11:18):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (11:18):
Ralph Flawry Rita Linda like, what are we doing now?
We brought me with this, Joe? What you want to do?

Speaker 6 (11:24):
Bro?

Speaker 5 (11:24):
I got into that zone ladies and gentlemen, and so
I would love to be in that zone with the
blue and gold again.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
But god, my time is done.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
I was just about to ask you to again because
still current player.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
I respect that. How many series could you play today
if you had to put pads on and go out there?

Speaker 6 (11:40):
One?

Speaker 2 (11:40):
One?

Speaker 4 (11:41):
One good series?

Speaker 5 (11:41):
One and hopefully that's a three hour boy boy tho
those one tens, I ain't running them no more like
the three hundreds.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
I'm not running them no more hills.

Speaker 6 (11:51):
I ain't run.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
My cardio, guys, is ten degree inclined, three miles per hour,
thirty minutes.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
That's it.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
All I do is I'm walking.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
I'm watching gmmf be on my phone thirty minutes.

Speaker 6 (12:03):
I'm off.

Speaker 8 (12:04):
Can be part of the Olympics the walkings?

Speaker 5 (12:07):
No, there's there's there's some style to that now, yeah,
oh yeah, you got.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
To have a focused face to do that. They're faced
on move Yeah serious?

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Could you play?

Speaker 1 (12:20):
You know what I do I stay in shape right now.
I cannot give you a full maybe one or two
good series for sure today if I had time to
train for it.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
But no, I ain't got it like that.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
If you need somebody to protect the third down, I
still could do.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
That right now. Okay, great quarterback.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Well, at least we got a Ralph, Larry, Rita Linda
in on the show.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
That was good. That was excellent. I feel like I
just went to linebacker school.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Okay, put your hats back and let's reset and we'll
have the third topic.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
The Bill's schedule release video was so good.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
The answer was in it, and if you haven't seen
it before, take a look, and then we'll have our
no cap topic.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
Yeah, I mean, what's up?

Speaker 8 (12:56):
A little busy here?

Speaker 4 (12:57):
What's up dude? Real quick?

Speaker 9 (12:59):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (12:59):
Schedule release video? You got anything for me?

Speaker 8 (13:01):
I mean, excuse a eye.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
Hey, that's what everybody's doing. Let's see what I can do.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Yeah, it'll be easy, I mean, excuse.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
I Yeah, thanks for doing this today.

Speaker 6 (13:15):
Yeah, I don't know what I'm doing?

Speaker 4 (13:16):
Why am I?

Speaker 1 (13:17):
We do want you to reveal the Buffalo Bill's twenty
twenty five schedule.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
Buffalo Bill's Josh Allen Buffalo Bill.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Yeah, Josh, actually send us to shoot with you.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Wow, MVP Josh Allen. That's sound for me to brag about.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Here's the schedule, perfect, We love you.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
The answer AI is awesome. All right, here's the question.
Grab the hats of the team that we're player that
you would want to take on Josh Allen and Alan
Iverson in a two on two game of basketball, man tie,
two guys have to come from the same team ooping.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
Well, I'm sorry because if I'm having to pair up
with somebody, the guy.

Speaker 6 (13:59):
Is going to have to score a lot of points.

Speaker 5 (14:00):
But this guy did score a lot of points in
the NBA All Star Celebrity Game him and it's Pooka Nookka.

Speaker 6 (14:06):
If you ever watched Pooka Nukua play basketball the.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
USO kemp ball, he can't.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
Matter of fact, he threw down a dunk in the
NBA All Star Game, the Celebrity Game, and he did
very very well. And so if I had to pair
up with anybody, it would be Pukakua and Pooka Please
don't come.

Speaker 6 (14:22):
Don't count on me to score any points.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
I could score more thousand points at this point, and
so I would have to go with pok No.

Speaker 8 (14:30):
G well, go with Leman. He plays some D one
basketball put some game. I'm won'ta be real with you.
I'm terrible. I can't teach you. I'm sorry, drops. I

(14:51):
need all the help I could get. And when you
have something to play at that level for some games,
that's what I do carry us. You gotta do it.
I can't do it for you. Let you want some
air balls. I might get lucky. I might it lucky,
making one to hear it there, But I'm not the
person who pick up on a pick up backtball game.
You just look at me like, what are you doing?
I'm watching, I'm watching.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Following up, I'm going with Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Give me Patty Mahomes out there on the basketball course.
We out there to win. I'll tell you that right now.
Patrick Mahomes can play ball. We know that, we've seen him.
He can do just about anything any sport.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
But one thing about it.

Speaker 6 (15:31):
We lining up.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
I got Josh Allen versus Patty.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
Yeah, Patty's he got more Super Bowls, bigger contract.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
He wins all the time against him, I think he's
just nimming. So give me Patrick Mahomes. Me and Ai.
We're gonna I'm gonna convince him that we could just
stay on the sidelines.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
And watch a one on one match up. But if
he I want to get it in, we can get
it in. I can play d now, Cross, don't no more.

Speaker 8 (15:54):
You got to do. Make one shot. All you gotta do.
Make one shot on Ai rap.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Right on one to why because then he's just like, no.

Speaker 8 (16:01):
Dan, you like, look, I got my one shot, put
it on the internet. That's all I need. I got you.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Where's that rams hat around here?

Speaker 4 (16:08):
I got on my hand?

Speaker 2 (16:09):
All right, fine, I'll do a different team with that
because I want Davante Adams. I want myself because.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
I can play basketball, but what I can't do is score,
like you said, but I can pass. I am a
great passer, which is obviously why I can do this
show because I just constantly passed.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
You guys question. I want the best hands in the game.
I want the guy that.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Is consistently great, who could score, who could be the
star of the team. I could try to d up
Allen Iverson, that's fine, but you need somebody who's going
to compete for the spotlight in two on two. It's
Josh Allen and DeVante Adams, and I kind of I
thought about putting on the Viking sat and having Justin
Jefferson as my two on two teammate. But it just
feels like, if we're going to do this thing in
LA and make it all Hollywood because Josh Allen's gone

(16:51):
all Hollywood, we're gonna go Davante Adams.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
As my two on two.

Speaker 5 (16:54):
So you would go, so you would put Josh Allen
and DeVante Adams.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Against each other.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
I mean, I'm not trying to body Josh Allen, Are
you kidding?

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Let's go Jamie kim Ball. Now, I'm with you. I'm
ken Ball. So no, cap, I would actually put Jamie
Erdau as my pot.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Now, oh that's a that's a take.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
Oh yeah, I learned you played basketball.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Now boy, oh, we have just entered in the ripe
age of prime Achilles tearing season. So thirty six three
kids like, we're not doing this right now? Okay, this
is why we just put the hat on and talk
about it on GMFP. It doesn't actually come to fruition.
I'm supposed to say this right now. Still to come
forget pickleball, girls, flag football is all the rage until

(17:33):
there's professional pickleball leagues, which I think there is. I
think Brady's invested in it or something we're not talking
about on GMFB. This is what's up Atlanta Falcons president
Greg Beatles joining our show to spread the word on
what the Falcons are doing for a sport that is
becoming more and more popular every day.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
Plus, speaking of who are you picking.

Speaker 5 (17:53):
To be on your NFL flag football dream team? We
know who James is gonna pick for her basketball team. Yeah,
we ask our guys to make some tough decisions in heart.
It's harder than you think. That's coming up next on GMFB.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Heck do you want what? Heck do you want? Which one?
What do you need? We got them?

Speaker 4 (18:09):
We got them.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
All good football for back on GMF and we are
thrilled to welcome in a friend of ours. He's a
Falcon team president, Greg Beatles. We love talking to Greg

(18:30):
about all things Falcons, but specifically exciting news regarding flag football.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Greg.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
The Georgia House of Representatives came together in a big
way to support girls flag football recently.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
What's going on with that?

Speaker 9 (18:42):
Well, Hi, Jamie, good morning, Thanks for having me on. Yeah,
we had a really exciting day. Yesterday we were down
at Mercedes been Stadium celebrating the growth of flag football
girls flag football here in the state of Georgia and
even beyond. But our House of Representatives unanimously passed a
resolution encouraging all high schools in Georgie to start a

(19:05):
flag football team for girls.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
We love to hear that, because you have to have
the destination and the goal for these people, these young
women to work up to. So how are the Falcons
supporting the growth of this sport that is rampant right now.

Speaker 9 (19:18):
Well, it's been a several year initiative for us. So
back in twenty seventeen, our senior director of CR Amanda Daco,
started just an idea, Hey here in Georgia, what if
we had a pilot program in Gwenette County, which is
near us up here at our facility. We had nineteen
teams start out then and over the years this year

(19:39):
it's grown and we're going to have over three hundred
high schools participating in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
That's incredible.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
And as a mother of three girls, just seeing those
young athletes out there and you're giving them a field
and an opportunity to plan is perfect and you get
to where the Falcons year.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
It's awesome.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
So with all that help that your team is doing
to expand this game, and with the news of what
you just mentioned that resolution that was passed by the
House of Representative, what's been the reaction from those young
women and young athletes that are able to participate.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
In this way.

Speaker 9 (20:09):
It's just been fantastic. First of all, signing up. We
have thousands of girls that are playing, and you can
see here. We had several different teams down at the
stadium yesterday. They were all excited to take a tour
and just talk about how it's impacted their lives. We
have so many positive stories and they're very thankful. Just
this past year, mister Blank, in his generosity his foundation,

(20:31):
allowed us to give out more than three hundred grants
to schools to either start new programs, which forty two
are doing just this year, or to extend to continue
their program. And so that was about two million dollars
that he provided to us and on to these schools
to start up girls flag football and extend it.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
Greg, It's a wonderful opportunity you're giving. These young athletes
have you had any current Atlanta Falcons approach you guys
about like I need to warm up my flag football game.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Have you had that happen yet?

Speaker 9 (20:59):
You know, in the cafeteria passing by here or there,
some of the guys would drop some things out about it.

Speaker 8 (21:04):
So there's definitely some interest, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Okay, we'll wait to hear who that is. You're going
to name names for us next time you have us.
We have you on, Greg Beatles, We appreciate you so
much a Falcons president, for helping us learn more about
what the Falcons are doing to encourage young women and young.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Athletes to play flag football. Well done, thanks Greg, Thank you, Jamie.
All Right, so this is what I'm talking about.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Yesterday Tom Pella Sero tweeted out that the NFL owners
have liked the Georgia House of Representatives reached a resolution
or they're going to try to at next week's league
meeting that would allow NFL players to participate in the Olympics,
which includes, as I mentioned, flag football for the first
time in.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
LA in twenty twenty eight.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
So this is our this is our tea up for
We got our whiteboards back out and everything and normally
I just again, like I said, do the tee ups
for these questions. But Laurence day three here just a
casual observation from the first day that we were with
the whiteboards on Wednesday, and knowing your dear friend Jason mccordy,
he also confirned this, your handwriting's not great, my friends,

(22:04):
it's amazing.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
It's amazing.

Speaker 8 (22:05):
It's amazing.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Who told you that? Look at your hand rating meeting fan?
What does that say?

Speaker 8 (22:12):
Meeting fan in food.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
Meeting one fan and actual experiences? So can I can
I assist? Can I? Jason can assist?

Speaker 6 (22:21):
Wait for it.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
I'm gonna write your.

Speaker 8 (22:22):
Answer, okay, just because my head right is excellent. I
don't want to. This guy's jealous at table.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
You're a doctor. You're a doctor.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Microsoft is currently working up a Lawrence Guy font and
then it's gonna it's gonna be available on all microsoftware,
all right, okay, and then you have to tell me
your answer. So after I tee this up, I want
you to pick a quarterback, wide receiver, and running back
and one defender that you would want on your flag
football team.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
So do you already have yours? Written?

Speaker 4 (22:49):
Rashon?

Speaker 6 (22:49):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (22:49):
So Rashad QB, wide receiver, running back defender on your
flag football team. You sell it to your camera and
I'll come over here and work with my friends.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
All right, see here, here, here, it is right here, folks.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
First of all, I got quarterback Lamar Jackson agile.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
Obviously we know he's.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
One of the most prolific guys ever at playing at
the quarterback position. Give me Jamar Gibbs. Give me Gibbs
all day. He can catch out of the backfield. He's fast,
he's agile. You can't catch him. And when you catch him,
he's gonna.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
Do a little spin. You can't get the flag out
of him. Come on. And then on defense, give me Patrick.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Okay, he's locking down against everybody wide receiver.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
We getting put a wide receiver. Listen, give me Jamar Chase.
Give me.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Percent if if I had the opportunity to put that
name down.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
Because listen, who can guard him?

Speaker 1 (23:33):
He's always open and if he's if he's covered, he's open.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
Especially when you got Lamar throwing him the ball. I
think we're gonna dominate. I like that.

Speaker 8 (23:40):
I like that.

Speaker 5 (23:41):
I got Jamie Chick. I'm gonna win this. This is
gonna this is gonna be easy win for Team Oose.
So quarterback. I had a strategy going into this thing.
I want the guys who are not only shifty, agile,
but obviously you're not tackling anybody, you gotta have some
move So number one my quarterback would be Kyler Murray.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
I love this guy.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
He's shifty, He's probably one of the most underrated scramblers
in the NFL. So I'm gonna go Kyler number two.
I mean, come on, how can we catch Why can't
you have Saquon?

Speaker 4 (24:05):
Who doesn't have Saquon on their list?

Speaker 5 (24:06):
I mean, if you can joke somebody out backwards, you
can duke somebody out with some flags. I also went
the route of I wanted players that could play multiple positions.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
De Bow would be my receiver.

Speaker 5 (24:18):
Why because Debo not only could play receiver, but he
could also play running back. I wanted that kind of combo.
And then talk about combos. Come on, I got the
Unicorn on there. Put Travis Hunter as my dB because
I could also put him at receiver.

Speaker 4 (24:31):
You got to play both sides of the ball for me.

Speaker 5 (24:33):
If you're on my team and I got the I
got I got that team.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
It's a good one. It's a good one. I like
our team the best.

Speaker 8 (24:39):
I just gotta say she raised a couple of times
because my hand riding was so amazing. She got to
do it again. But I'm gonna go with Michael Vitt.
When you look at it, you movemin I'm an older guy, right,
we would say what it is. I'm an older guy.
I grew up watching him. He is a friend. We
know what he could do. He can move around. The
pocket in his arm is incredible, we know it. Then

(25:01):
we got o Cho stink Up. Think about that. Think
about that twinkletos the commentary energy. He brings. Everything he does,
he will get in your head. He is playing the game,
and can you defend that. Jim McCaffrey. If you look
at McCaffrey, you get the ball in his hands, it's magic.

(25:24):
Let me say, if you get the ball in his head,
it is magic.

Speaker 5 (25:29):
Right.

Speaker 8 (25:29):
Then we got Travis Hut. I'm gonna go with what
you have. When you look at him, look at think
about it. Offense, defense, dual threat. He could do it all.
He might be able to play quarterback. We don't know
what they said.

Speaker 4 (25:43):
Put the fridge on his back, doing squats, I wrote.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
I wrote Travis just to play mind games with people.
Make sure that we weren't trying to put Travis Kelsey
out there, the Travis Hunter. Okay, that was good. However,
I feel about their flag football team.

Speaker 6 (25:59):
I think I'm still gonna win though.

Speaker 8 (26:03):
You look at it.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Have you played flag football?

Speaker 4 (26:05):
I have. I have played flag fooball with the hips.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Of the dancing right.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
It is.

Speaker 8 (26:09):
It is.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
It's a different games.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
It's a very different game from playing physical football.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
Tackling.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
You have to be able to move, you have to
be able to duke, you have to be able to
shield off the fenders.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
And I think my team can do all of that.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
I mean, now, granted, listen, we all got some great
players out here, but I mean, let's be honest.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
Who's gonna beat this team? Come on, anyway this team
think about your team?

Speaker 8 (26:31):
Is they should do?

Speaker 4 (26:32):
Also, you also got a block in flag football.

Speaker 5 (26:35):
And you've seen that Ojo ain't blocking, no middle linebacker dog.

Speaker 8 (26:40):
Blocking you got. He could talk them to sleep.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
You're gonna talk right now.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
We talk about in the prime, or were talking about today,
they can still do it today today.

Speaker 8 (26:50):
I mean, did you I can see the video of
both of them doing it like last year. They should
do it. They got it. We know working out, We
know Mike's out there slinging that rock. We know what's happening. Yeah,
I got the two older guys in there, but they're
going to surprise you. Look to put on the way the.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Way we Shan just said, I mean, they can't.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
It was as catronizing as me saying, I mean your
handwriting is good.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
There it is, and LG loves meeting the singular.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Fan on the NFL and experience and eating one piece
of food.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
It's unfair. These are the best athletes in the world
that he.

Speaker 7 (27:35):
Makes them look like they should not be out.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
There with them. I mean, thinking about the MVP. That's
the launch eggs. Can you say MVP.

Speaker 7 (27:45):
Josh Allen? Are you kidding me?

Speaker 5 (27:48):
Look at the speed Lamar Jackson is gone postles his
way into the zone.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
That's more like it.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
When I looked at the schedule and I saw that game,
I was like, schedule makers, what did you do? They
are giving us as by putting Josh Allen and Lamar
Jackson up against each other again. In Week one of
the twenty twenty five season, the Bills ended the Ravens
twenty twenty four season in the AFC Divisional Round, So
Ravens linebacker Rokwan Smith that he is looking forward to
this rematch.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
So you start the season off and that's going to
set the tone for the entire season.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
So that's the first game for sure. Well that's at
the Buffalo Bills. Yeah, just how I like it exactly. Okay,
served as a cold dish, you know.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
So it'll be nice to get up there in Buffalo
and get a little payback for those guys.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
From the end of the year.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Man' ti.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
He meant what he said.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Oh I heard it.

Speaker 7 (28:46):
I served cold.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Boy, don't have to warm it back up.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Okay, you could throw it on ice in Buffalo if
you had to. All right. Patriots defensive tackle and former
teammate of Lawrence Guy at the Table, Christian Barmore telling
reporters on Thursday that he has been cleared for football
activities and he's bested rearning for Week one. Armor who
was limited to four games last season as he dealt
with blood cloth which was a terrible story for him,
and he's glad he's back to being a full participant

(29:12):
in the team's offseason workout program.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
That's great for him.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Now I'm looking at a screen of Manti Theo in
his time on the New Orleans Saints, which means he
knows what it's like.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
As a revenge is best served cool. So we were looking.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
At games coming up on GMFB that have a flavor,
a seasoning, a sprinkle if you will, of revenge.

Speaker 4 (29:34):
Hell revenge.

Speaker 6 (29:35):
We don't like to use that word though, so we'll
call it payback.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Payback.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Okay, you're changing the recipe, a little recipe.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
Sometimes a new recipe is.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
Better for shot has changed sharp anacular at the table.

Speaker 7 (29:46):
Thank you, good mooll.

Speaker 5 (29:58):
So yesterday on the show, we talked a little bit
about games that you would circle heading into the twenty
twenty five and season. And there are certain games that
we identified here at the jmmfby Breakfast Table that we
want to circle that might have a little bit of
payback in them. And I couldn't think, guys of a
better way to start this segment. Often the Super Bowl rematch,

(30:19):
we're talking about the Eagles at the Chiefs. We all
saw what happened at the Super Bowl. It was total
dominance from the Eagles forty to twenty two.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
The Eagles had six sacks.

Speaker 5 (30:32):
Two interceptions, one they returned for a touchdown, and you
see the Cooper Degen touchdown right before halftime.

Speaker 6 (30:38):
It was a total domination.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
By the Eagles. Well, guess what guys.

Speaker 5 (30:43):
Coming into twenty twenty four, they play again in the
rematch and week two.

Speaker 8 (30:49):
I've been a part of those rematch games. Oh yeah,
I've been New England when the Falcons came in. There.
You talking about energy, the fans, everybody's excited for this game.
They want to see did you fix what happened in
the Super Bowl. This is the game that you want
to be a part of the player. It is fun,
it is vitally, it is fast, and.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
No doubt about it.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
I mean, listen, you got two inside of the Kansas
City Chiefs. You got two head coaches essentially.

Speaker 4 (31:18):
I mean you got to think about Spags as the guy.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
They took it personal when they took a beating like
they did. And you know Patrick Mahomes, he's a he's
a fighter, so they I can't wait to see this battle.

Speaker 5 (31:29):
Well I don't know if you guys remember, but remember
two years ago Super Bowl fifty seven, the Chiefs beat
the Eagles. Well that very next year, they rematched and
the Eagles came on.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
They beat the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (31:41):
So could twenty twenty five be repeating history, we'll see.
Could they get their payback, we'll see. But we're gonna
stay the number two game. We're gonna stay with the Chiefs.
We're gonna stay on that subject because the next game
that I have is Week nine Chiefs versus Buffalo. And
the reason why, for obvious reasons, every generation needs that

(32:03):
quarterback rivalry. Growing up, for me, it was Steve Young
and Troy Aikman. As I got older, it became Tom
Brady Peyton Manning. In today's game, it couldn't get bigger,
bigger than Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. This will be
the tenth time that these two teams compete against each other.
Patrick Mahomes is five and four against the Buffalo Bills.

(32:26):
He is one and four during the season and four
and zero in the playoffs. So, boys, I know we've
been watching this relationship and this rivalry and this payback
kind of boil and stir and marinate.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
A little bit.

Speaker 5 (32:42):
How do you see this game coming up in Week
nine at Buffalo turning out for both quarterbacks?

Speaker 4 (32:48):
Tell me. We told abut all this food again, it's
being Stu. You gotta sta So let me jump up
in here. Week nine.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
Like you had mentioned, it's not the postseason, so it's
kind of open because something happens when the Bills, when
you have Josh Allen going against Patrick Mahomes in the
playoffs and figure that out. But the Bills they are good,
I mean they are really good. They're stacking their defense.
He found his wide receiver. Coleman is playing well. He's
going to grow, continue to grow. Security found him in

(33:17):
a slot. So I think the Bill's got the upper
hand going into it against the Chiefs.

Speaker 8 (33:21):
Now we're going back to a rivalry, right, we're going
quarterback at the quarterback. We can see how dominant Patrick
mahone is. He is violent with the ball. You don't
know when he's throwing the ball and when he's not
throwing the ball. That's the unique talent of him. That
side arm throw. Personally, when you get to that side
arm throw, you're like, did he really just do this?
You know? So the playmaking and building and Patrick mahoons

(33:43):
is special saint. Thing was Josh Allen?

Speaker 4 (33:45):
Is he out of bounce? We don't know.

Speaker 8 (33:48):
When all these new rules coming out, you can't really
hit the quarterback out of bounds. But this is a
competition together that it's going to be high place excitement.

Speaker 5 (33:57):
Yeah, I love that, guys, and I appreciate that input
because it's definitely something that we're going to continue to watch.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
Unfortunately for all of us, it's going.

Speaker 6 (34:04):
To be here for many years to come.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
So talking about quarterbacks, talking about those those rivalries, there's
a there's there's a little young rivalry brewing with the
Bears versus Commanders with the number one overall pick Caleb
Williams and the number two overall pick Jane and Daniels.
I think we all remember in twenty twenty four, in
Week eight on that hell Mary.

Speaker 7 (34:24):
David's backing up. He's just beat the one flying, goes
to the right side, that's the.

Speaker 5 (34:30):
Way from the defenders, gives himself the time, now steps up,
fires heads towards the end zone.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
It is.

Speaker 6 (34:50):
It doesn't it doesn't get better than that, guys.

Speaker 5 (34:51):
It doesn't get two seconds left on the play clock.
It's fifty seven years, fifty seven yard.

Speaker 1 (34:57):
Yes, I've been part of some hell Mary's and it
is insane and gut wrench and filling. But I think, listen,
I think he's studying some of Aaron Rodger is because
he's doing.

Speaker 4 (35:06):
That early in his career. He specializes.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
My question is how long did it take for josh
Allen Patrick Mahomes to be a thing? Because the fact
that that happened on the first time that those two
play each other?

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Like, can it only go up from here? Ridiculous Bears
and Commanders?

Speaker 6 (35:20):
It can only go up?

Speaker 4 (35:21):
So abot.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
In week six of this season, Caleb Williams will again
return home to the DC area to play the Commanders
and talking about coming home, guys, mm hmm. There's an
office it's called the Sofi Stadium across the street. There's
a guy that was released by that Why one of
those teams that plays across the street. That was a
Super Bowl champ, a Super Bowl MVP, a triple Crown winner.

Speaker 6 (35:45):
What's a triple Crown winner?

Speaker 5 (35:47):
He's a leader in most receptions, reception yards, and reception touchdowns.
He holds the record third most reception yards and reception
touchdowns in franchise history, behind Tory Hope and Isaac Bruce Well,
Cooper Cup and Weik eleven comes back to Sofi Stadium
to take on a team that he helped build, a stadium
that he helped build. And my question to you guys is,

(36:09):
when he goes into that stadium, is he going to
be reminded.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
That it's Coop's house or is it.

Speaker 6 (36:15):
The Rams house? Were gonna see?

Speaker 4 (36:17):
We can letl cool.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
You go here, you go here, the crowd go, let
him know Coop is back. We're excited to see him
play again. Now they're doing something special over there in Seattle.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
I think they do. And I believe at that point
in time, what week do they play eight?

Speaker 6 (36:35):
I believe, yeah, Gay, I'm not something like that.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
It could be we could see Monroe out there playing quarterback,
throwing the ball.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
I'm not sure at that point in time.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
But it's gonna be special to see Cooper back.

Speaker 8 (36:45):
Where are you gonna hear it?

Speaker 4 (36:46):
Coo?

Speaker 3 (36:48):
How's not gonna feel for him? Ignore what the fans
are yelling and what 'name? What's that kind of feel like?

Speaker 5 (36:52):
You know, when I saw Cooper cupp and his reaction
to everything, you know, seeing his his teammates kind of.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
Just that's how sad they were about it.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
I think it's going to be an emotional time for
him and rightfully so, he's given so much to that
franchise and it's gonna be one of those reunions that
I think is going to be very, you know, heartfelt.

Speaker 4 (37:11):
I'm excited for it.

Speaker 5 (37:11):
So we're kind of staying we're going to stay at
Sofi Stadium because there's another team that plays there.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
It's the La Chargers.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
Okay, and the fifth game that and the fifth and
I saved the best for last. The fifth game that
I highlighted, guys, is going to be the Chargers versus
the Raiders. Now you could be asking, well, they're they're
kind of.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
Rivals, but it's not really a big thing.

Speaker 6 (37:29):
You know.

Speaker 5 (37:30):
The payback is the head coaches Jim Barball and Pete Carroll.
This is a this is a rivalry that has been
brewing for five decades now, when Jim Harball played in
the NFL against defenses that Pete Carroll ran and would
beat them and would lose to them. Then it went
to the college game with USC and Stanford, and Stanford

(37:52):
beating the number two ranked the.

Speaker 6 (37:54):
USC team at that time.

Speaker 5 (37:56):
Then coming back two years later and Jim Harbaugh goes
for two to glow it goes for a two point conversion,
trying to get fifty points on them.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
That's that rivalry. Then they go to the NFC West.
Pete Carroll leads USC to go to Seattle Seahawks. Jim
Harbaugh goes over there to Stanford. We had that.

Speaker 6 (38:13):
Now they are in the AFC West.

Speaker 5 (38:15):
And I know, hey, guys, there are these that's personal
and then there are things that's really personal. And I
think over the years, over five decades, this has been
a rivalry for all of us as football bands to watch.

Speaker 6 (38:27):
So I'm excited to see it.

Speaker 4 (38:28):
Boys.

Speaker 3 (38:29):
I think that match up, the Harbor Pete Carroll, thing
like that deserves its own segment. We need to do
a history segment on that one the way you just
