Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Do you have a fan of Friday?
Speaker 3 (00:11):
I'm Sarah Walls here in La, joined by Chris Harris Junior,
a Super Bowl winner. We got Joel McHale, Kyle Brant
is hanging out in New York City, and if you
are just tuning in, you may wonder why there's just
a pile of jerseys sitting on the desk here. Although
I realized it's a four shot, so maybe you can't
see that.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
There you go?
Speaker 4 (00:29):
That is there?
Speaker 5 (00:30):
We go?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
All the outfits, or I should say all the tops
that Joel wore in the.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
First hour of the show.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Kyle Kyles just rocking on.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
I mean, this is the only way the.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
First ever bring laundry to the show. He's not putting
back on them one by one. It's the reason to
tune in and here.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
Comes on again the show.
Speaker 6 (00:56):
Let good.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Welcome to GMFB. Sarah walsch Chris Harris Junior, Joel McHale,
Kyle Branton, Kyle, I'm gonna be honest here. In the
commercial break, there were some questions about your parenting choices
and what you allow your kids to wear. Because watch
because Chris Harris was telling us there's no scenario his
wife would allow his kids to watch the stuff you
were allowing your son to watch, and that would be
Ted starring Joel McHale.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
I'm already wildly inappropriate, wildly and rated R. I mean
the mouth on that bear ted Joel's character is absolutely.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
Disgusting and reprehensible.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
And probably by admitting I let them watch that, the
parents are going to now see this and never let
the kids see.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Oh yeah, we can't go to the brant House.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
What are they doing? Parents of the Year.
Speaker 7 (01:52):
You should have them watch the cut scenes that didn't
make it in Kyle.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
That's the cbing we're heading into the weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
If they didn't make it into that movie, like, not
a chance.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
It's great, I blew it.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
We have more Jersey reveals.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
We got to go more minutes.
Speaker 7 (02:07):
I'm going back on. So let's let's go back to
the Sonics.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Yeah, the Sonic one looks great.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Did we get to them? Did we ever get to
the end or we're just you know what I'm gonna go.
Speaker 7 (02:17):
I'm going to go a different route here on Sonics
will get here? Yeah, this is completely okay. Look I
don't even know what's happening. I just grabbed everything I
had and now we're going to go. I don't know
what's happening on them.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
I think we got to get audio back out here.
Speaker 7 (02:32):
I think I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (02:35):
You're very kind.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
You deserve overtime today on we got something. Yeah, all right,
we'll talk about some football here.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
I think it's time for three and out. We got
a Detroit Piston's jersey, and so let's go NFL here.
First down.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
As Steelers owner Art Rooney said earlier this week, they're
going to wait a little longer for Aaron Rodgers. On
a scale of one to ten, what is your concern
level for Rogers joining the Steelers?
Speaker 4 (02:59):
Kyle?
Speaker 3 (03:00):
I was last out here with you guys in March,
and we were talking about this and we thought it
would be over, the fight never ending.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Joel, what's your concern level?
Speaker 7 (03:07):
You know, you know way more than I do about
these things. Why why wait? Why would you? Why not
just sign?
Speaker 5 (03:13):
Now? That's all I have.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
I asked a fair question, Chris.
Speaker 8 (03:19):
You're the football player, I mean I and we know
it's about money, right, you know when you wait this
time and you're and you're waiting until Many Camp. It's
about money, right, and respect that we need Rooney in them.
If they want him to come now, I guarantee they'll
raise that price tag. And when you have a guy
like Aaron Rodgers who's made tons of money over his career,
(03:40):
he's not going to be moved by probably a minimum deal.
Speaker 9 (03:43):
Of which they're offering him.
Speaker 8 (03:44):
So he'll wait until Many Camp to think he has
to June tenth to make that final decision. If he
and if he's not there by the time Many Camp starts,
then I would start to move on and turn that
page on him because then he won't be ready to
go from training camp, so he has to join pretty soon.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Kyle, all right, So I've always assumed my concern that
wouldn't happen was down at like a two or three
because the Steelers really don't have viable options outside of it.
And we know that Rogers went to Pittsburgh, he met
with the team, all of that, All the pieces are there.
But I think something really interesting happened this week. And
if you haven't paid attention, Aaron Rodgers went on the
(04:22):
World's Biggest podcast and did a three hour session in
which he talked about Epstein, He talked about Sandy Hook,
He talked about all of the most polarizing, contentious, potentially
offensive and controversial topics you could come up with.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
Talked about Diddy, all of that stuff. He did what
Rogers does.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
He likes talking about things in the news, things that
are interesting, things that are conspiracies, are controversial.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
And he and Joe Rogan just went for three hours.
And that's fine.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
If you're someone who believes that Mike Tomlin does not
want that type of thing in his building, his organization,
then that's a pretty significant piece of media that just happened,
because that's part of what Rogers is at this state.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
He likes doing media. Mike's talking about that stuff. He
doesn't shy from it.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
So I would think that if you believe that it
goes way up from a two to he won't join
the Steelers too. I don't know a six, because there's
more of that that's coming, and there's been a lot
atted around about the idea.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
Would Tomlin be all right with Rogers.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Peering on McAfee every week and talking about things that
are controversial.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
It doesn't seem like the Steelers way to have someone
that is that famous, that polarizing and doing that type
of media come in and be the face of their
team this year. So yeah, I think it changed a
little bit. There's another side of this, and I'm just
going to cover it. All that says, you know, Aaron
Rodgers is a professional when he shows up. Mike Tomlin
(05:46):
has been through this for years. He's going to compartmentalize that.
We know what Aaron's about off the field, but as
soon as he shows up to the building, he's all business.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
So I think it's very become very complicated.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Rogers also talked about in this podcast something he had
alluded to earlier, the reason he hasn't made the decision
to answer Joel's question is that he has things going
on in his personal life and his personal circle. And
he mentioned something about someone fighting an illness and how
serious it was and that it's really occupying a lot
of his time. And I think that's the only tangible
reason we're pointing to right now to answer the question
(06:19):
of if he's going to join the Steelers, why hasn't
he He's dealing with personal stuff.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
So, as always, this is a long answer. It's very complicated.
It's not just cut and dry.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
There's media things for that might distract the Steelers, there's
personal things that might distract Rogers.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
I basically have it as a coin toss.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Right now whether or not it happens, because Rogers could
come out next week and say I think I've decided
to retire.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
It's all up in the air. It's uncertain, really unprecedented as.
Speaker 7 (06:44):
Well, Kyle, that answer was so long that he actually
did sign with the Steelers during it. So is that right?
Speaker 4 (06:51):
It's already with the team.
Speaker 7 (06:52):
Yeah, he is now with Yeah, he's now on the team.
Speaker 5 (06:55):
So good. We'll see.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
It's going to be I have more too, I can
keep going, we can retire. What's the next question, Sarah?
Speaker 3 (07:03):
I think, can I just button that up for a second, Kyle, though,
I just you know, all these quarterbacks really anyone, And
I understand that Aaron Rodgers has played for such a
long time now, but you always hear when guys sign
like they want to get there, they want to work
out with the receivers, they want to get timing down.
And so I have no idea that when you alluded
to an illness or a personal situation, like we don't
know what he's dealing with off the field.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
But I do think a long time ago.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
When I say a long time ago, like a month ago,
two months ago, three months ago, when we thought it
was imminent, I just think like, isn't isn't there if
you're if you're playing next season, don't you want to
be working with your guy?
Speaker 2 (07:35):
I mean, Chris, you know you're shaking your head.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
I mean, it doesn't no matter how veteran you are,
no matter that you come with MVPs, isn't there sort
of an urgency if you just want to be around
your guys whether and we've seen it where guys will
fly their guys out to California and you'll just they'll
just be throwing to the receivers and that's not happening.
Does that not strike you as as something that you
would have seen by now?
Speaker 8 (07:54):
Oh yeah, I'd be very concerned when you when you
have your quarterback there, you see him as the CEO
of the team. He runs the show. And when you
have that guy that's not there and he's not preparing
for for the season, your team is kind of lost.
They don't have a leader to look up to. And
Aaron Rodgers, he's a guy as soon as he walks
in the building, you know, most everybody's gonna look up
to him, and he's not there with the Steelers right now,
(08:15):
getting that chemistry with dk Metcalf, getting that chemistry with
their whole offense, understanding what what Arthur Smith wants to do.
And that's missed time and you need that time, especially
as a quarterback. So hopefully Aaron Rodgers, even though he's
a professional, he still needs that time to get in
jail and getting sync with.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
His guys all right.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Time for second down here, the raiders first round pick
from last year is talking about the Raiders' first round
pick from this year.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
He's a beast. He's a beast. He's out there.
Speaker 10 (08:47):
You know, he's quick, he's fast, he's he's rocked up,
he's sticks, so he's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Second down is Ashton gent who's rocked up, apparently going
to walk in as a rookie and be one of
the league's top running backs.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Kyle Up.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
That's McHale all day long. That phrase means a lot
of different things in my experience. I don't know if
that means that or not, but either way, yes, listen,
is this question asking me if ashion Genty is going
to be good as a rookie. Yeah, of course, he's
a super high pick. He's gonna get a ton of carries.
I'm going to have him as like a Cadillac Williams
(09:25):
type rookie performance or even at Clinton Portis. I think
he's going to be potentially like the number one fantasy guy.
And please NFL media, don't take that headline and put
on Instagram. I'm just shooting from the hip right here.
What do you guys think, Joel you like Ashton Genty?
He's apparently quote unquote rocked up.
Speaker 7 (09:40):
And thick, which if this were England that would mean
he's not very smart. But I think we mean it
as he's got a lot of muscle mass Kyle, I
mean Kyle levels of arm muscle masses, my guess. And
just as long as they're not as good as the
Seahawks that I'm fine.
Speaker 4 (09:59):
This kid is hungry.
Speaker 8 (10:00):
I expect him to definitely be a top running back
coming in as a rookie. It's all on the Raiders
old line. Can they block? Can they get this guy
some space to be able to make those creases, to
make those big runs. Of course, it's not gonna be.
He's not gonna be running all over teams like he
did at Boise State, right, But the kid works hard.
He'll be down in Dallas where I trained. He changed
(10:20):
with my trainer, so I know he's gonna put into work.
He's gonna be ready to go by the time season comes.
So this guy, he's definitely gonna be ready. It's all
on the Raiders old line. Can they block and give
this guy some space to be able to make some
move He changed with your training.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
We're kind of insights to give you on him.
Speaker 8 (10:35):
Oh man, They're out there doing everything you know, from sand,
the hills, the stadiums. That's why he's rocked up, you know, yoga, pilate,
so we do everything. So this guy's gonna be ready
to go. I'm gonna be able to see him and
know that he's gonna be ready to go come to season,
and I'm excited for him.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Rocked up.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
That's how we're going to describe him from here on
out on this program.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
Third Down. The NFL has introduced a.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
New award and is the Protector of the Year award
for the best offensive Lineman. Bill's offensive tackle Dan Dawkins
instrumental in making this award happen. He posted this on
x History was made today, something that started with an
idea and a conversation and now the Protector of the Year.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Award is here and here to stay. So thank you to.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Everyone involved today we made history. So what other position,
but what other job would you like to see be
recognized as an award at NFL Honor stool.
Speaker 7 (11:30):
Well, you know you've already heard me talk about the
Seahawks punter. So I actually don't think punters get enough,
do you know? They save games all the time and
get you out of tough situation. So, Michael Dixon, I'm
hoping you're going to get that a new award. Do
they already have that award?
Speaker 5 (11:50):
Yeah? Yeah, Kicker of the Year?
Speaker 4 (11:52):
No they do not, all right.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
I'm disrespectful honestly.
Speaker 7 (11:55):
Right, I mean it's a huge part of the game, right,
So yeah, that's my vote.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
dB of the Year.
Speaker 8 (12:01):
Man, I don't think we got that honor yet, right,
They always have have Defensive Play of the Year usually
goes to a d line the guy has the most
sacks in the year in the season they all it
never goes to the DBS And last year was the
first time in a long time with Stephan Gilmore passer
tam but Bland should have had it the year before.
I mean, the guy broke the record of returning interception touchdown.
(12:23):
So we need a dB other year and that's something
they should add into the NFL.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Honest, Kyle, what he got.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
I'm into that. I think we pulled from the headlines here.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
And you go to NFL Honors, it's a couple of
nights before the Super Bowl and somebody gets up there
to present and let's say it's Paul Rudd or something.
He goes up and it's this is very prestigious thing,
and he makes a few jokes, but it's about honoring
really the people behind the scenes and the offensive lineman
in all walks of life. In this case, I'd like
it to be the Audio Engineer of the Year and
(12:54):
we would have the demo reel based on today's show.
Get him in here right now, Joel, put on another shirt.
Let's see him work. This is the NFL Honors winner
for Audio Engineer of the Year.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Let's go, let's see him.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Here we go.
Speaker 10 (13:12):
This is one Today We're gonna go with Rainy or Beer,
a storied brand from Seattle almost went out of business
years ago and now is back on them.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Get over here.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
That was people aren't getting enough respect, Like you don't
have to you stand right here on them.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
This is what the linemen want. Recognition on them, deserves recognition.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
You don't stand in the shadows over there on them.
You're you've been on this show more than anybody's say
and hustling.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
We're just sitting here. Yeah, you can't hear Kyle. Probably,
Who do you want to know? Who would you like
to think for your award?
Speaker 7 (13:48):
You just want to proceideous award on them?
Speaker 5 (13:51):
The crew.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
You were having all the problems with that today.
Speaker 7 (14:01):
Yeah, I've only been electrocuted twice.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Kyle, We think alike.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Because I was about to say on them, that's why
it's pointing down. I should had the ara pointing. I
was going to do say the same thing, so on them.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
What a hero tape.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
Welcome back to Good Morning Football. This is a living,
breathing show that evolves over the couple hours that we
do it every morning.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
And earlier in the show, we had our friend Joel McHale,
who is a diehard Seahawks fan, go through this kind
of exercise where we put up different Seahawks greats, all
the ones you could imagine through the Seahawks history, and
Joel picked his favorites and eliminated some, and there was
a lot of love for Doug Baldwin. But all of
this Seahawks Royalty came through the segment. Well, I'm so
(14:41):
excited to say that apparently one of those members of
Seahawks Royalty was watching and is now here with us.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
And I'm not making a joke.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
I'd like to introduce a Seahawks legend.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
Andreas Sean Alexander, Joe.
Speaker 9 (14:59):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (15:00):
Brother?
Speaker 9 (15:00):
How you doing?
Speaker 4 (15:01):
What are you doing up?
Speaker 9 (15:03):
Man?
Speaker 11 (15:04):
I was working out. I got boys, man, they played football,
so I got to get them ready. So we've been
working out.
Speaker 7 (15:11):
Did we wake you up? Did somebody text you? We're
sorry if that's how I went.
Speaker 9 (15:16):
I'm on the East coast, man, I'm in Virginia.
Speaker 10 (15:18):
Now.
Speaker 7 (15:20):
Well, thanks for coming on. I can't believe we're talking.
I've only met Sean once and I said to him
that I was going to fill his shelves behind him
at some point, and I'm sorry I have not lived
up to that.
Speaker 11 (15:35):
Look at that I left them blank for you. I mean,
I'm still waiting for you to come by and visit.
Speaker 7 (15:40):
You know, are you at a zoo right now?
Speaker 11 (15:45):
This is the front of my house, and I wanted
to find a spot where it'd be quiet. You know,
I got twelve kids, and so people are downstairs upstairs.
I was like, let me get to the front of
the house. I sat down.
Speaker 7 (15:57):
Wait, how many kids do you actually have?
Speaker 9 (16:03):
Boys?
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Wait, can you rattle off the ages? Because we got
Chris here and we were rattling.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
He's got five girls, names and ages all twelve.
Speaker 9 (16:11):
Guy, I got five girls. I'm at five.
Speaker 11 (16:13):
Yeah, that's great. So Heaven's twenty one, Trinity's nineteen. Eden
is eighteen. She's actually a senior in high school and
is All American in track. And then Joseph is sixteen,
Justice is fourteen.
Speaker 9 (16:27):
Those are my two oldest boys.
Speaker 11 (16:29):
Then you got Temple who is twelve, Honor is eleven.
Jenediah is the man child, he is ten and he's
watching downstairs. So Jenny Big, make sure you're listening, you know,
say hi everybody. And then you've got Eternity is six,
Hosanna is four, Honor is three, and Hope is no
(16:52):
Hope he is three and then Judea is one.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
He has more kids than you have jerseys on this
desk right now.
Speaker 7 (16:58):
Oh my lord, are you guys Catholic Mormons? Or how
does it work?
Speaker 11 (17:04):
Just in love from a young age, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 9 (17:06):
That's that's that young love, you know? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Did you you men? You mentioned some of your boys
are playing football?
Speaker 3 (17:13):
Right?
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (17:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (17:15):
When can we expect them at the draft? When can
we expect them at Alabama? Like give us an outlook
a Scott to report on the future Alexander football players.
Speaker 9 (17:23):
It's really cool.
Speaker 11 (17:24):
I've actually started a school called Harvarst Covenant and next
should be the first game. I had a bunch of
the boys all at the local restaurant and we're all
eating and having fun. We got some talent. The kids
are going to come. Hopefully my son, he's a freshman,
he'll he'll be one. And I've already told coach Dubois
and at Bama and davidos sweediat Clemson that we got
a bunch of kids that going to be able to
(17:44):
play some good football that hopefully will become a great
line to all the great schools.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Hey, we wanted to show you this picture. I don't know,
if you saw on the show earlier today of a
Cooper cup in Jackson, Smith and Jim but living their
best life? Were you ever this happy at OTAs or workouts?
Do you ever remember looking this joyous wall practice?
Speaker 2 (18:03):
I mean this to be fake, right, I mean this
is crazy.
Speaker 11 (18:07):
Nah, that's probably just cut the right angle, you know,
and something went on that's right there.
Speaker 9 (18:13):
That has nothing to do with the grind that they
do for OTA.
Speaker 11 (18:16):
So now, but you know what football's fun that you
get the right teammates and so you know, I'm sure
coaching ma Back's putting together a pretty good team and
they've got good chemistry, so you have moments like this.
Speaker 8 (18:28):
Yes, sir, man, you're one of my favorite running backs
of all time. Man, So how do you feel about
Kenneth Walker stepping in that man next year?
Speaker 3 (18:36):
Man?
Speaker 11 (18:36):
I love Kenneth Man since we draft him from Michigan State. Man,
I think he's a great player. I think that he
hides behind his pads well, explodes and makes big plays.
You know, he stays healthy and Seawks are going to
have a great year, you know, And.
Speaker 9 (18:52):
So that's how it's been. And he's he's just a
solid player.
Speaker 8 (18:56):
Yes, sir, and I need some of your kids. Man,
I might need to add them on my seven on
seven team. Man, bring out some of your kids. See
if they can play some dB and receiver.
Speaker 9 (19:03):
Man, you're five girls in a row.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Oh.
Speaker 11 (19:07):
Man, they told me if you got to start saying
number six as a boy and then you know, then
it just happened.
Speaker 5 (19:12):
That's all I mean.
Speaker 9 (19:13):
Man, Now one boy, We're done.
Speaker 7 (19:16):
Yeah, Sean, You're one of my favorite players of all time,
one of the greatest Seahawks of all time. You are
a living legend. I literally have your jersey. But why
are you not in the Hall of Fame yet?
Speaker 5 (19:31):
Man?
Speaker 9 (19:31):
You know what?
Speaker 11 (19:32):
It is a cool process and a complicated process. I
think that my numbers are good enough to get in,
but I'm willing to be patient, and I I need
you to start in for me. Man, right off the
stats that you know of you're you're a Seahawks fan,
and help convince these writers to get me going.
Speaker 7 (19:49):
Oh I'm terrible at math, but but I look just
go back and look at you. Look at these Look
at him. He did this for years and they had
kid during that play. Look you can see the kids.
Speaker 4 (20:07):
There is a healthy, big.
Speaker 9 (20:09):
That's so great. That's so great.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
I think it's Sean. It's listen.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
It starts with it. You you won the MVP. Running
Backs don't win MVPs anymore. That's an unbelievable thing that
you did massive stats on huge teams that played in
games that matter, won the NFC. I mean, you did
nearly everything you can possibly do. I think it's so funny.
You were elusive on the field, but I think it's
funny you have to be elusive in your own house
and hide from the kids. Most of us do that
(20:36):
in the bathroom, like that's the only place we can
do it. But you got yourself a spot, right, like
that's the sweet spot.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
They can't find you.
Speaker 11 (20:43):
You know what, We've got a nice house, and you know,
football's done me well, you know. And so there's there's
a couple of places that we can hide in and
uh and go and you know, and having nine girls
and three boys, you know, the three boys and I
will sometimes go down to the to the Seahawks Cave
and and hang out down there too.
Speaker 9 (21:00):
So there's a couple of spots in this house. That's
that's pretty cool for there.
Speaker 7 (21:04):
I thought that was shelving behind them, but they're bunk bets.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Here, Sean.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
I am so lost at how this household can operate
with this many kids, because you're sitting here and you're saying, Wow, Chris,
I can't.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Believe you have five girls. Five you have not you
have almost doubled the amount of girls.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
And so I know that you have been so successful
at breaking down defenses, right you study felt I need
how do we break down breakfast time and getting ready
for school with twelve kids in the allex Just set
the scene what the morning looks like in the Alexander household?
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Is this cafeteria style? Like we got like cereal bowl?
Cereal boss? What are we doing there?
Speaker 7 (21:42):
It's just a hose of protein, powder and water.
Speaker 9 (21:45):
Protein.
Speaker 11 (21:48):
You know, honestly, you got to have one or two kids,
you know, shout out to Trinity, who's a freshman at
Liberty and then and then now it's Honor and Temple,
one of the girls have always like just saiding like,
oh I love holding one of the younger ones. And
so like all of a sudden, it starts to out
like when you got you got a handful of them
that say, hey, I'm gonna it's gonna be my buddy.
Speaker 9 (22:09):
Then it starts to work out.
Speaker 11 (22:11):
And so then you know, everybody gets fruit to start
off with, and by the time you get there, yogurt
and oatmeal and pancakes and it just works.
Speaker 7 (22:18):
Man, ladies and gentlemen. Sean Alexander, thank you for coming on.
Good Morning Football. Seahawks.
Speaker 9 (22:26):
Hey, Joe Man, I appreciate you.
Speaker 5 (22:29):
Man.
Speaker 11 (22:29):
Even the one time we met, I could see the
fire in your eyes about Seahawks.
Speaker 9 (22:33):
So that's great.
Speaker 11 (22:34):
And let me get a shout out to all of
the people that donated for harvest and all the people
put in the work for our school to start.
Speaker 9 (22:40):
Thank you all so much. And all you fans that
want to be a part of it.
Speaker 11 (22:44):
Man, I'll find ways to get you'all to get on
our link and it's come. Help all these kids, all
these great athletes come play football.
Speaker 9 (22:50):
It's worth it.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
That was awesome.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
Thank you so much. Run dug ball when you're on.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
The clock calling in next segment, wa, go look at
that father of twelve just running thirty.
Speaker 7 (23:04):
He's a yeah, he's running to the hospital to.
Speaker 5 (23:08):
Be with her.
Speaker 6 (23:08):
What With the fourth pick in the draft, the Open
Raiders have selected Charles Woodson.
Speaker 7 (23:22):
Charles Woodson, what a play.
Speaker 9 (23:25):
He's gonna get fused down? Woodson?
Speaker 4 (23:29):
Carry has better down im?
Speaker 7 (23:31):
Try to coast the football boo the livers of it?
Speaker 9 (23:35):
Who I am.
Speaker 5 (23:36):
Picked off by Charles Woodson?
Speaker 7 (23:38):
Hackers our World champions Up football.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
Aaron Rodgers has said he is the best football player
he's ever seen, in my personal opinion, is one of
the coolest football players to ever live.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
He has one of the greatest.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Lives football, TV, whiskey, wine and now is just gonna
dabble in ownership.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
You know him eighteen years in league, an old friend
of the show.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Charles Woodson, what's up, baby, he's here.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
Let's go you.
Speaker 5 (24:05):
Can we just watch those highlights over and over again.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
So good and making more and making whiskey and wine.
And I have to say, off the bat Charles, as
a longtime fan of yours, and everybody watching it is
jarring to see you with that logo on your chest.
I expect raiders or Wolverines. Anybody tell us how this happened?
Because you are now part of the Browns ownership group.
It's in the works and happening. Can you tell us
(24:32):
from start to finish how this set off?
Speaker 5 (24:35):
Yeah? So I thought today, Man, you know, you got
to embrace it. Man. So I got to wear this
just like I wear my.
Speaker 12 (24:40):
Opening Gamer, my my Packers gear, Mischian gear. But man,
just an interesting story, man, is just about two years ago, Man,
I got a call from Larry Fitzgerald, and Larry asked me,
he said, hey, man, would you be interested and you know,
maybe becoming one of the team limited partners. And I
was like, yeah, I'll be interested in that. And he
(25:00):
was like, hey, let me let me introduce you to
you know, a buddy of mine that I know who's
working in fel Dereck Higgins. And so we put these
emails together, me and Derek back and forth. And the
next thing you know, I was meeting Jimmy HASLM and
de Haslam in Las Vegas, uh during the Super Bowl
a year ago, and you know, just sitting down talking
(25:21):
with the family, you know, getting to know each other,
talking about my interests in in joining the ownership group.
And uh, next thing you know, I was visiting in Cleveland,
went to the facilities, to the facilities, met a lot
of the people, uh in management, coaches, players, and from
that moment that's when the process started and so we
(25:42):
you know, we started going through that process that the
NFL takes you through in order to get to this point.
So it's been you know, just about two years you know,
in the making to get to where we are today.
Speaker 8 (25:53):
And you are from northern Ohio, which is part of
Brown's country. What with your younger self if you told
him as a young age that you would be part
of the owner of the Browns ownership.
Speaker 12 (26:05):
Yeah, you know never, never would have thought about it.
Speaker 5 (26:08):
It's funny.
Speaker 12 (26:08):
You good friend of mine on our show at Fox,
Jay Glazer, text me the other day and he's like, hey, man,
just think about your ten year old self and what
he'd be thinking right now. And I was just like, man,
my ten year old self would have never thought about,
you know, ownership. He would have thought about playing in
the NFL. You know, that was the dream, is to
get to the NFL. My favorite player growing up professionally
(26:30):
was Walter Payton.
Speaker 5 (26:31):
Loved Walter Payton.
Speaker 12 (26:32):
That's why I used to try to emulate in the
front yard, backyard with all the all of the buddies.
But I'll tell you what, you know, it was so
interesting about it growing up in Ohio, was that do
I do have memories of the Cleveland Browns, and you
know two of the players who I watched as a
young kid growing up defensively where Hamton Dixon and Frank Minifield,
you know, two corners on the Browns team. I got
(26:55):
a chance to play with Eric Turner who became a
good friend of mine, who was with Cleveland and then
over with Oakland. So do have great memories of Cleveland
Browns and the players there. So it just comes full circle,
you know, of me growing up there in Northwest Ohio
and Freemont, Ohio by the way, and then becoming a
limited partner with the Cleveland Browns in my home state.
Speaker 7 (27:18):
That's fine. All that stuff sounds really good. Anyway, tell
us about your whiskey. I want to know about the
Wasst game.
Speaker 12 (27:25):
Yeah, I'll start with our newest edition of the All
American Whiskey that we just released. We just submitted it
this past year into the Sampsonscoo World Spirits Competition and
we took home gold.
Speaker 5 (27:37):
This is a blind tasting event and we got gold.
Speaker 12 (27:42):
And so this is a fifty percent bourbon, fifty percent
ride and ninety through five year age. And I'll tell
you what you're gonna love it because we're going to
send you something. So we got you awesome.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
That's awesome.
Speaker 7 (27:54):
Do you do you drink the whiskey to just add
more quarterbacks to the team or how does it work?
Speaker 5 (28:02):
That's how you do it?
Speaker 12 (28:03):
After you know, after I sacked the quarterback that you know,
I'll send him a little whiskey man to ease the pain.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Help us out here with this quarterback room, because we
talk about all the time where we want reality cameras
in it, like we would love to see how this
thing is playing out, because there's teams and it's like,
you know, we don't have a quarterback. You got every
quarterback the Deshaun Watson's still on the roster.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Let me go to the quarterback. Yeah, Deshaun's still on
the roster.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dylan Gabriel. You take in the
third round a guy by the name of shird Ur Sanders.
He didn't get any attention during the draft. He goes
in the fifth round.
Speaker 5 (28:34):
Zero.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
How is this playing out, Charles? What's happening? What's going
to happen by week one?
Speaker 5 (28:39):
Yeah? I mean you're right, you know there's a ton
of quarterbacks.
Speaker 12 (28:43):
So I guess what they're looking at or what let
me say, what we're looking at is is we're looking
at competition and we're looking for that cream the rods
to the top. Are you bringing a veteran like Joe Flacco,
a guy who you know that he's going to come in,
He's going to play steady for you. So if we
need a guy that can go in and play right now,
Joe Flacco is going to be the guy. And then
(29:03):
the next you know coming up. Of course you got
pickets door Dylan Gabriel and those guys, and so look,
those guys are going to get the reps. I don't
know how many reps are going to get at this
point in time, but whatever reps you get, then you
got to show what it is that you bring to
the table. So you know, the way this thing is
going to play out is the best guy is going
(29:25):
to play. I mean that's that's the way I feel
about it. And I know that one guy has really
gotten all of the attention. But there's an opportunity for
you know, like you said, a lot of guys to
get to work during this season, this off season and
into training camp to get that starting.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Nod Charles, You've worked for Fox for a long time
and you do great work for them.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
How does this new.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Position with the ownership group affect how you work in
the media.
Speaker 12 (29:51):
You know, it really shouldn't affect it, you know, you
know too greatly. I think that you know, everybody's looking
at Tim's position of course with the Raiders and what
he does, you know for Fox, and my position is
just a little bit different than his. I mean, I'm
in the studio every week and it's not like I'm
going around, you know, having to go into buildings and
you know, really talk to uh, to the coaches and
(30:13):
to the gms, and you know, understand their actual game plan,
you know, going into you know, each game that week
that he's covering.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
So for myself, man, it really shouldn't change a whole lot.
Speaker 12 (30:25):
I'm going to you know, get on TV of course,
and you know, give my personal experience, watch the games
and you know, try to understand our our segments of
what we're going to go over that Sunday and then
just talk about what I see and what I know.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
And so it shouldn't really change all that much.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Right, every wins, including in the Booze business. Let's just
call it that, Charles. I I am a whiskey bourbon guy.
I've tasted a lot, I own a lot. Yours was
one of the best I have ever tasted.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
And I really really mean that.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
And I know you're gonna have success with the Browns
because you doing everything else you touch.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
Thanks for coming on, man, Thank.
Speaker 12 (31:04):
You, Thanks for having guys say thank you, thank you.
Speaker 9 (31:08):
Hey, we've got
Speaker 5 (31:08):
Gotten something coming, crowd, we got you
