Speaker 3 (00:24):

Speaker 4 (00:26):
We are presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerkey live in
Los Angeles.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Today is Monday, December ninth. This is off bar Budd Blone.
Look very festive, by the way, this is ed. No
mere Loow.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
Gregor, you look lovely to Moll Kyle Brandt in the studio.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Everybody, welcome in. How are we doing?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Good?
Speaker 5 (00:45):
Feeling Lucky Chiefs, luckiest team ever, Lucky lucky, lucky, lucky lucky.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
First they ref skied all calls.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
Now they're lucky. Eventually we'll get to their cheating. And
that's just how it works with dynasties. How we're real
football guys. Then right right, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
It's looking out for the for the Kansas City Chicks.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
The Football God closed out her international tour in Vancouver
last night that the Football I.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Was of their tour.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
I believe.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
So yeah, they're gonna be like a bonus scene at
the end where she's not as perhaps prayers up.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Let's get to business last night, as it pertains to
a team that has won the AFC West.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Nine straight times. Let's do it, all right, definitely.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Chargers at Chiefs sleep block, all right.
Speaker 5 (01:24):
So the Charges come out like it's really slow in
this one. There a arrowhead and they didn't have any offense,
and all of a sudden, they looked like Lad mconckey
should be the MVP at the league because everyone's like
they have nothing without Lad McConkie.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:34):
So Kelsey Hopkins, thirteen nothing, Jim Harbaugh, you weren't hired
to beat the Titans in the Falcons minfirm. We've got
to beat the Chiefs here.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
What are we doing? But now thirteen nothing.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
That Charges came out in the second half, especially the
third quarter, and just played some bully ball.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
They just ran and that is.
Speaker 5 (01:46):
A touchout, physical game sixteen fourteen later.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
So this is crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:51):
They had to kick and it doesn't land in the
landing zone if you're kind of up to speed on
the rules, if you don't kick it in the proper area,
it's like it used to be kicking out of bounds.
You get at the forty yard line. This is a
few minutes left with a one point lead. It was
a huge mistake. Yeah, third and seven, This is great,
massive play ready.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
What and Kelsey can good night?
Speaker 6 (02:10):
That was it?
Speaker 2 (02:10):
I mean that's the player.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
When you watch that back, Kelsey just stopped and like
could recognize the panic in the place.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
I'm available, I got.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
You, my guy, warm up the buses or wait? Is
there just one last stitch of drama? All right?
Speaker 5 (02:22):
So that ain't Harrison Bucker, don't kick it through the freights?
We got here not straighter going. It went in, It
bleeping went in. Unbelievable. I mean that literally, that almost
knocked the gold bost over on the doint scale.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
That was like a ninth single doint.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
But as Mike Jerico said, the Doyt fought the division
chief Dafty Champs print the T shirts all I can't
believe it, but can't you though? Chiefs Kingdom wins again
over the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Again.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Jim Harbough shows up zero to two against the Chiefs
in his first year. Maybe you get something again on
the playoffs nineteen seventeen.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Chiefs afterwards, Let's just do it.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
It could be any year. It's happened to be twenty
twenty four. And you read if Pats Mahomes, you want
the division to take a listen.
Speaker 6 (03:04):
With their different scenarios. But the coach have trusted me
that I'm going to make a play happen and try
to if not there, that I can fall down and
we can kick the field goal for a little bit further.
But yeah, I mean we knew that they were going
to sell out the block to run and they did
a good job on the outsides and the perimeter of
kind of passing to do oflphin zone, and so just
had to make a play and if it's not there,
you fall down and then you kick the field goal
from a little bit deeper.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Reminded of Sir Andrew Barton.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
Find out my men, Sir Andrews said, I'm a little wounded,
but not slain.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
I'll lay down and bleed a while and we'll rise
and fight again.
Speaker 7 (03:34):
All right, Let's look at the ANFTY playoff picture. That's
Sir Andrew Barton. When Marv Levy lost, I leave the
third Super Bowl for the Bills. That was the speech
he gave to the Buffalo Bills in the locker room.
Will be slain, but we will fight again.
Speaker 8 (03:46):
That's the thing. Get up, gotta fight Chargers. They're right now.
Speaker 7 (03:49):
If the playoffs were going to be tomorrow, they would
face the Steelers in Pittsburgh, Broncos in Ravens, and Colts
and Dolphins right out there on the periphery. But the Chiefs,
they clinched your division ninth straight year, have not lost
a game in the West this season.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
There were a lot of fun takes on when that
streak began and how old Mahomes was and what Brady
had accomplished by them. But the point is it's nine
straight for the Han City Chiefs. They keep winning in
weird ways, in doink ways now, Peter, But when you
look at the nature of this game, what was the
big difference maker to you?
Speaker 7 (04:23):
They're down late, like they're down the Chargers coming in
the third quarter, and they put up those two touchdowns,
and all of a sudden, you're like, all right, this
is the moment. This is the moment Herbert finally puts
his stake in the thing and says, no, no, we're
not going to be just second or third place as division.
And then Mahomes goes on this epic drive.
Speaker 8 (04:38):
At the end. It just bleeds the clock.
Speaker 7 (04:41):
And that's the stuff that maybe doesn't show up in
the box score. Herbert didn't touch the ball a ton
at the end here because they were able to just
convert on third down.
Speaker 8 (04:49):
If the third down, If the third down to the
point that where Kelsey gets that catch, it's the game's
over already.
Speaker 7 (04:55):
It takes a freak thing like a blocked field goal,
which they had happened on the other end against Denver,
but Herbert never got his chance to be a here.
Speaker 8 (05:04):
And that's what Mahomes can do to you. And that's
what Andy Reid can do.
Speaker 7 (05:08):
Just when you think, all right, there's five minutes left,
they'll score it, then will score and we'll get our
chance to maybe put a touchdown. You don't get that
opportunity third downs. So key nine straight division titles. Alex
Smith started that thing. Mahomes have been finishing up Bill's
lost and the Bills play the Lions on Sunday, Like.
Speaker 8 (05:25):
This first seed could be wrapped up quicker than we think.
Speaker 9 (05:29):
Yeah, you know, the one thing that was missing to me,
and you know, you look at the Chargers and the
fact that let McConkey. I think we missed a huge
difference in this game. This game was so close, and
that was obviously the difference. But I think the way
the Kansas City Chiefs they capitalized on this win, and
especially when I look at defensively. Defensively, they played an
amazing game up front and really trying to neutralize obviously
(05:52):
whatever they had for the Chargers. But even then, when
you think about Quentin Johnson, some of the big plays
he made down down the stretch that was important for
the charge because they didn't have a passing game, and
that's probably one of the things that hurt them in
this like I just mentioned, but I like that that
the Kansas City Chiefs is a very strong defensive team
and that's going to be the thing that I believe
takes them over the top offensively. Not impressed, but I
(06:15):
am impressed with their win factor. They've got that win factor.
People got like swag factor, five factors. They just have
the win factor.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
I absolutely love this Chiefs team. I love it so much.
I love it.
Speaker 5 (06:26):
When that kick hit the upright, I laughed out loud,
so Dard because one of the most electric little junctures
in any pro football game is that one second after
it hits the upright when you're like, WHOA.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
My god, is it going in or is it going out?
Of course it went in. Of course it was never
going to go out.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
I actually had a full belly laugh. It is so
funny to me how much people hate this team, how
frustrated they are with this team, how annoying this team.
Speaker 7 (06:52):
The way they are when the announcers go goga, they
hate all that.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
Every trapping of this team. The masses just drives them crazy.
And they keep doing this isn't two or three times
they get whatever you want to call it. It's so awesome.
This is unbelievable because you know what the Chiefs can do.
The Chiefs still how to just make a play, and
you have the games that are that close. It just
comes down it. Pick a sport, get a clutch hit,
(07:16):
get the runner over, knock down a free throw, or
just make a play when it's right, and they always
make a play. They never don't make a play. The
play where he dodges that tackler or the openfield hits Kelsey.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Was so awesome.
Speaker 5 (07:31):
Yeah, that's an incredible individual effort. And then you say,
why can't he just do that the whole game. I
don't have an answer for you. The entire game, they
look completely uncomfortable. They don't look like they have any flow,
they have no chemistry because they don't for like three
and three quarter quarters and then it happens. I'll go
to the to the pro wrestling thing. It reminds me
(07:51):
like I used to love There was the say it
would go the same way with guys like Ultim Orient
haulk Hogan where they're losing and they're losing, they're getting
to beat down and then they're about to get pinned
and they Ultimore would start shaking the roads and they'd
start hitting them and hitt him and he'd be like, no, no,
shaking the ropes. And then the finishing move is splashed
and you pin them. They just start shaking the ropes
with a couple of minutes left. The fact that the
Chargers gave it to him at the forty Airline was
(08:13):
so stupid.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Why would they do that?
Speaker 5 (08:15):
Because things just tend to happen to the Chiefs. It's
my favorite Chiefs team of the Dynasty. I think they're hilarious.
I think it's layers that you hate them. They're going
to continue winning.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
I love it. Wait and see do you think it's
the dooin for the win? Is funny?
Speaker 5 (08:26):
Now wait till they do it in the Super Bowl,
Because they're going to It's awesome.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
I love this team.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
You may have laughed out loud when when the ball
ye right.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
I audibly gasped when Andy Reid waited till one second.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Class on the clocks, I was like, what are you do?
Speaker 3 (08:42):
We its third and twelve, Like, are you gonna leave?
Speaker 4 (08:44):
You are a third string kicker, no room for snap
or anything? No, we just like, can we just cover
Matthew right really quickly? This is per this morning, Just
like what is going on with Matthew Right? If you
just look at the line items of stops he's made
in the NFL, there are sixteen changes he has made
between He's been with the Chiefs three times, been with
(09:05):
teams many times, practice squad, pulled off.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
The practice squad, all this stuff.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
He's technically a Super Bowl champion because he was on
the roster with the Chiefs for one of their titles. Also,
he was an aeronautical engineer.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
When he was a senior at you see a blocky Martin.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
He was offered a job, he took it, and now
he's kicking and winning walk off field goals for Matthew Right. However,
you know what we do have that might make you
cackle as well, the radio call from Mitch Holtis and
make a listen.
Speaker 10 (09:29):
Let's go a thirty one yard a champ by matthew
Wright to try to win the game.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Snaps it, placement is down rights.
Speaker 5 (09:37):
Kickers out of the kickers go and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Do it again.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
The third kicker this season.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
To have a walk off field goal.
Speaker 9 (09:51):
That's just absolutely amazing. You know how that happens. When
we saw Andy Reid take that clock all the way down,
that says nothing more than I've got confidency.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
You got this.
Speaker 9 (10:01):
There's nothing you miss. We lose, right, I mean, that's
a lot lot of pressure. But to know that your
coach has that much confidence in you to wind it
all the way down, it's like here you go.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Like, remember we don't have Buckler, we don't have Schrader.
You're a third guy.
Speaker 9 (10:13):
And guess what, you're the guy you gave a wrestling reference.
How about this for the chore and for for Wright.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
The excellence of execution. Brett Hard is Brett Hart, Yes
it is.
Speaker 9 (10:24):
And that's exactly what they're playing.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
They're playing with a lot of heart. Sharpshooter, absolutely, you
know that Jamie sharp shooter.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Remember last week when I loved the ball to you
and you're like, no, I got nothing. But anytime you
do wrestling, I'm like, oh, there.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
That Ian Rappaport. Welcome in. It's a gmat this morning.
What are we looking at?
Speaker 11 (10:45):
I can't believe you don't know what the sharp shooters.
Speaker 8 (10:47):
Next thing, tell me you don't know what the figure for?
Speaker 9 (10:49):
I mean Boston camel pos.
Speaker 11 (10:53):
A Boston crab, another god that really can hurt you.
All right, let's get to some quarterback injuries, not as
funny as wrestling finishing moves. In fact, I will start
with Derek Carr. The Stains Quarterbacks, Another frustrating injury for
Derek Carr for a safe team that is still fighting
despite having Darren Rizzy, the interim coach. Fear is it
is a fractured left hand for Derek Carr, according to
(11:13):
me and colleague Tom Pelsero. Now, if this is confirmed
by tests, he's going to have more today. Although generally
with a fracture, you really do know as soon as
it happened, but it would likely take the starting quarterback
off the field for the.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Rest of the season.
Speaker 11 (11:26):
When he was injured last time, Jake Hayner ended up
coming in over Spencer Rawlers. We'll see what the New
Orleans Saints end up doing.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Meanwhile, let's go do.
Speaker 11 (11:35):
Derek Carr's former team, the Las Vegas Raiders. Another quarterback
injury for them as well. With Gardner Minshew already on
IR and Ain't O'Connor coming back from my art to start,
his health is now in focus as well. He left
the game with what looked to be just by the
eyeballs to be a serious knee injury and something that
Antonio Piers, the head coach, said looked bad as well.
(11:57):
We will see though as far as the MRI goes,
I'm not so sure this one has done yet. He's
going to have tests early this morning. We will update
you when the have that. I'll be clearly these status
of Aid and O'Connell now hangs in the balance for
the Raiders.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
Oh hangs in the balance. We hate that.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
We're actually thanks so much. Moving on on gmtpot tis
the season that we are counting down to Christmas Day,
and it's not just because we love that day, of
course we do, but it's also first time ever doubleheader
NFL games on Netflix. First up, Beautiful one pm Eastern
Chiefs in Pittsburgh takeing on Solers four thirty pm, Eastern
Texans Post Ravens. It's a Christmas day full of family
(12:33):
and football?
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Is that trally around? Sound like?
Speaker 4 (12:36):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (12:37):
I was like, how do you do it?
Speaker 5 (12:38):
So?
Speaker 8 (12:39):
Does that public domain?
Speaker 3 (12:42):
It has a little I know you can enjoy it
all on Netflix.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
All right, Peter, there are two words that should not
be associated with Sam Donald nick.
Speaker 8 (12:50):
Don't call him a game manager anymore.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
That's not him.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
He through five touchdowns yesterday. Sam Donald can let it drip.
I'm going to talk about him a bit after. We
talk about this quarterback as well.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
So I guess the book and here's going to the Quotoffs. Yeah,
I think they are.
Speaker 8 (13:02):
Landa's not going anywhere.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
What the hell happened to the Falcons? That was a
Remember we were swag surfing. What happened? Crazy?
Speaker 11 (13:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (13:11):
All right?
Speaker 5 (13:11):
Plus the best player of all time Jerry Rice had
a nice run, buddy. Oh sorry, Josh Allen's best player
of all time? Has anyone ever won the MVP and
a loss in a game in which they were favored? Like,
that's really unusual, Saquon, I love you buy that thing
might be over.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
We got to talk about all these games.
Speaker 12 (13:28):
Let's go, good, mom, let's go indeed, let's go to
Sofi Stadium right next door where we're sitting in his
Rams and his Bills.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
It is a classic, wildly entertaining games and the Rams
were better for most of it, including in the first half.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
There was a block punt early in this game.
Speaker 5 (13:51):
It had all the fireworks, lots of Bills fans, but
also I was.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
There a lot of Ram fans. I have some takes
on that later.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
It was by far the most fun game to watch
of the week, maybe of the year, honestly, thirty seven
to twenty one. But the Bills would not let them
get away.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
First and goal. We do the buff shove, butf shove.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
That is a Josh Allen touchdown, all right. Now the
Rams are only up three, clinging if you will, do
a three point lead, and on a third and seven Stafford.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Scrambling out of the pocket. You don't see a ton
of that.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
He takes a hit, but there's a flag earlier for holding,
which they decide to accept. McDermot says, move him back now.
Two plays later, same series, fourth and five. Remember Rams
up three, Stafford side arm two to two.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Moved the chance.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
Huge, huge throw, maybe Stafford's biggest throw of the game
because it keeps out on that maniac on the sideline.
And now pooka touch down, Pooka Nakua. Beautiful block by
Cooper Cup on the play, and it was like Allen
just couldn't do enough. Wild things happened at the end
where the Bills had the ball at the goal line
eventually ended up scoring but didn't have enough timeouts.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
We'll get into that shortly. In the end, Josh Allen
becomes the first player in.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
NFL history and has three rushing touchdowns, three passing touchdowns,
and he loses to a team that was five hundred
wild day forty four to forty two.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Oh my god. After the game, let's hear from.
Speaker 5 (15:05):
Sean McVay talking about the incredible, incomparable Pooka naka.
Speaker 13 (15:12):
He was awesome, you know. And then he's you know,
the artist gave me a good stat and now he's
giving me all types of stats. After he missed Cooper Cup,
He's like, hey, how about this is what the hell
are you talking about? First player in Rams history to
go over one hundred and sixty receiving and have a
rushing touchdown. Who the hell comes up with that number?
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Right there? All right?
Speaker 13 (15:27):
But that was he was awesome and he's so physically
and mentally tough. Love him. He's such a you know,
igniter is one of the biggest compliments I can get.
Somebody give somebody. You know, you elevate everybody around you.
You bring an energy to this football team, and he
certainly did that today.
Speaker 9 (15:42):
Whining you score forty two, don't get that's not enough today.
Speaker 10 (15:46):
Again, like hate losing, you lose by till you lose
one hundred, It don't matter. You're still losing an offensive offensively,
we had a find ways to score before the half
and score after the half. So we didn't do our
party there.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
Man, there has never been a more jarring representation of
body language on the range of Sean McVay to Josh
Allen that game.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
That was power down.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
The Rams got a massively needed win at Sofa yesterday.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Peter your thoughts.
Speaker 7 (16:10):
I don't think it was a season saving win because
I honestly think all they have to do is win
the NFC West and that could have been done even
with the loss yesterday. But it was that five alarm
fire for everyone around the league like, oh no, not
the we thought the Ram the Rams.
Speaker 8 (16:24):
The Rams lost to the Bears this year.
Speaker 7 (16:26):
We watched them loose to the Dolphins at home on
Monday night. What the Rams are for real and they
have a coach who's willing to land on the line.
We went big on Dan Campbell Friday, obviously, because that's
the call of the year, to go for it when
you already are in field goal range, fourth and five.
Mcvay's got Nakua and he's got Cup, and he's got
Matthew Stafford throwing the ball to two two at well,
(16:47):
the biggest moment of the season, right Like, that's the
that's the McVeigh charm.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
It's we're gonna go for it.
Speaker 8 (16:53):
We're only gonna go for it.
Speaker 7 (16:53):
We're gonna throw it to our third wide out and
we're gonna trust him in this big spot.
Speaker 8 (16:57):
Here's the bottom line. Stafford's a gamer.
Speaker 7 (17:00):
We know that when he can get protection, he can
throw the ball. He can't move very well anymore, but
he can still. They've got the best wide.
Speaker 8 (17:06):
Receiver duo outside of Minnesota.
Speaker 7 (17:08):
It's these guys, Nikua and Cup when they are healthy.
Speaker 8 (17:11):
The Rams are six and two So.
Speaker 7 (17:14):
They've got two boons, a wide receiver, they've got a
super Bowl quarterback, and they got a super Bowl winning
head coach. I'll take the Rams in a big spot
if it comes to who.
Speaker 8 (17:23):
Are gonna trust them?
Speaker 7 (17:24):
Or the Seahawks or the Cardinals or this whatever zombie
version of the forty nine ers.
Speaker 8 (17:28):
We're getting the nat.
Speaker 5 (17:29):
And I saw you, Peter, you picked this as an upset.
Speaker 8 (17:31):
Did Yes, I went big. I went big on the
Fox Show because I just felt like.
Speaker 7 (17:35):
A couple of things were at play. Long trip for Buffalo.
Watch them do snow Angels. I know they got Detroit
up ahead.
Speaker 8 (17:42):
They didn't. They didn't fall asleep in this game. They
played well.
Speaker 7 (17:45):
Yeah, but the Rams were playing for a lot more,
I think than the Bills were yesterday.
Speaker 9 (17:49):
And a lot of people thought this game was gonna
be like this trap game. And it wasn't a trap
game for the Bills because they played outstanding. They came
up and they were ready to play. You know, I
look at Josh Allen and it's time, you know, being
at the game last week and seeing Josh Allen play,
coming watching this game all television, watching the film of this,
Josh Allen is just.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Straight up a baller.
Speaker 9 (18:09):
First player in NFL history to have three rushing touchdowns
three pass touchdowns. But he was all over the place,
And I think it's his ability to kind of spread
the love around, whether it's Shakir, whether it's mccollins, and
just being able to have a stable of wide receivers
that creates versatility, increase his mischmat Do you see mc
collins right there on that little slip route and he
gets out there and he makes a big time play.
(18:30):
And I look at that and I go, oh, excuse
me on the slot fade, But I look at that,
I go, this is why he should be in the
conversation for MVP, because he's leading. Yeah right, I mean,
you know a lot of people have been pushing out
some of the other bands. We need to beat the
drum for Josh Allen in this MVP, Like, yes, he's
number one, let's beat it down because his play is outstanding.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
But I look at that six touchdowns. You know, I
want you.
Speaker 9 (18:54):
Guys to take a look at this because this has
never ever happened in NFL history.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Look at this for.
Speaker 9 (19:01):
Entering today's game, on that game yesterday with at least
six and zero giveaways in a game two forty five
at all in the Super Bowl era?
Speaker 2 (19:11):
What wait? What?
Speaker 9 (19:13):
And to lose that game in that fashion, it was hurtful.
And of course, Kyle, that all comes down to game management.
Speaker 5 (19:20):
It does, and something weird happen at the end of
the game, and don't get into it in a second.
This is a disturbing game. I think for the Bills
fans now doesn't mean you're not gonna win the Super
Bowl this year. It's fine, Detroit's next long trip and
all that. But what this game represents I think rattles
Bills fans cages, which is exactly what you're talking about.
It is the Josh Allen what else can I possibly do?
Speaker 8 (19:37):
Game?
Speaker 5 (19:38):
I don't think the Bills played well in this game,
the game of forty four points, they got a punt block.
I think they were sloppy as hell. I think josh
Allen was nuclear in a loss. You're not supposed to
lose the game when josh An has six touchdowns, and
I just I don't want to be too negative, but
in five years and ten years, in thirty years, like
do you look back at this era and you're like,
that's what.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
That era was about that.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
Josh Allen was an unbelievable player and they just never
got it together. If you're watching the game, you followed
this very closely, and I thought Tom Brady he was
all over on the broadcast. So the dynamic is Bills
are down two scores. They need to get a touchdown
and a field got there. At the end of the game,
they're going into the goal line. They have all three timeouts,
so it's playing out well for them.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Get the touchdown, you.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
Can all three timeouts, you'll get the ball back. Here's
the final two places as they went out, so they
call it. Josh Allen quarterback sneak up the middle against
the Rams, which I hope we have and he gets
stopped and Brady's falling off his chair because they have
to use one of their timeouts.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
And that was the game.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
And I think Josh Allen knew it was the game
because you're saying throw it, throw it, throw it, so
if it's incomplete, you won't have to burn your timeouts.
He gets stuff, they burn it. That leads him with
two timeouts instead of three, and good night Iron. That
was it. They didn't get the ball back, they didn't
get to do it, and if you're watching this game,
you're like, the Bills are definitely winning. There's no way
they're stopping Josh Allen if he gets a shot. I
think it was the mismagem. I think it was a
(20:52):
bad call. I don't like the quarterbacks. I think they
just said screw it. It's almost a little bit like
Dan Campbell said, let's just give it to David Montgomery.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
He'll get it on fourth and inches.
Speaker 5 (20:59):
And I think the Bills coaches were saying, just run
Josh ap the middle.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
They won't stop them.
Speaker 5 (21:03):
They did stop him, and I think that was a mistake,
and I thought Brady was the best he's been all
year saying it was a mistake. He was immediate, he
was emphatic. It's one of the reasons that Bill's lost
that game. And there is a little feeling amongst Bill's
mafia about like Josh isn't always properly managed. How are
we not winning every game and we have seventeen. He
had six touchdowns and they still lost. It's disturbing. Doesn't
mean not gonna win the Super Bowl. I just don't
(21:23):
want to look back on that game as representative, not
just of this season, but of this era.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
It was an incredible moment I think for Tom Brady
because he had it. You could see where his brain
went seventy five seconds in advance. He could do the
math to douce the fact that I think that was
it and to call it that early kind of made
everybody watching and listening sit up in their seat and
we were one step behind Brady.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
But the way he explained it was spot on.
Speaker 9 (21:42):
Yeah, he will say take the shots, Take the shots,
don't you know, taking those runs and making it milking
down the clock. That messed up everything. And I'm looking
at that, I'm going no, no, no. And of course
that didn't give him an opportunity for that defense.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
Just run jobs.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
They'll get it, Hubris, he didn't get in. The Ramdeen
line was incredible. Like the guy credits to them for that.
They were great.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
It's called the Tush push in Philly.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
It didn't really work for the Buffalo earlier in the
game did but not late in a moment where they
needed it.
Speaker 5 (22:07):
All right, you know the storylines Falcons Vikings. Kirk Cousins
is a Falcon. He used to play there for years
and says.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
We'll never forget you've Kurt David.
Speaker 5 (22:15):
Remember they did the same thing with far They had
shirts and said we'll.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
Never forget you.
Speaker 5 (22:18):
Brent. I remember that he kind of gets sold from
package fan Scott seven to seven early, all right, So
he comes out.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
And throws a touchdo the first time a long time.
Then he's kicked off by Josh Nan. Tellus. Everything the
Vikings were doing was cool in this game. The basically was.
Speaker 5 (22:32):
Just a series of Vikings doing touchdown celebrations and that
man looking like four or something. Good job. Thirty five
twenty one.
Speaker 8 (22:38):
Cousins, Kyle pitch no no one handed?
Speaker 5 (22:41):
Why one hand interception by Byron Murphy and they just
goes down in the end, So that's actually him smart.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
What the heck? The game's over with. Don't want to
pad your stats.
Speaker 8 (22:48):
Look at tellus.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
Cousins did throw a couple of interceptions and he threw
three hundred some yards but complete meaningless. Cool hug with
Justin Jeferson after the game. But that was a thumping in.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
The fourth quarter. Forty two to twenty one. The Vikings
are very good.
Speaker 5 (23:01):
They're eleven and two and let's go if you Sam
Donald who I'm just gonna guess is going to credit
all his teammates because that's who he is.
Speaker 10 (23:08):
Big credit obviously to our offensive line. I feel like
the way they played today was special. The way that
they were able to give me time when needed was incredible.
Obviously everyone around me as well doing their part, and
our defense man stepping up when we needed them. Yeah,
just like I said, complete team effort and it was
a fun time in there today. Man. Our fans came
(23:28):
ready to roll and that that was a huge part
of that win as well.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
It's a great clip of Sam Donald just letting enthusiasm
take over. You go up to towel off the bedge
and just starts like going nuts with the fans. It
was the first look Eater Vikings say, look great, felthastone.
Speaker 7 (23:41):
Fourth team in five years for Sam Donald and it's
a one year deal, so it's likely like fifteen and
six years or is it. This guy's been unbelievable. His
numbers yesterday were incredible.
Speaker 8 (23:51):
Guys.
Speaker 7 (23:51):
He there for three hundred and fifty yards, five touchdowns,
no interceptions.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
Yep.
Speaker 7 (23:55):
They won the turnover battles three to nothing, and Jefferson
and Addison both went off like.
Speaker 8 (24:00):
Here's my thing with Donald.
Speaker 7 (24:01):
It's very easy to look at him and say, Okay,
he's a game man where he's not gonna hurt you.
Speaker 8 (24:05):
He's not gonna throw the back. That's not Sam Donald.
Speaker 7 (24:07):
He has in the past been the guy that has
thrown the bad interception, or has made the bad fumble,
or has said something afterwards that makes you scratch your
head and say, wait what. This season, he's completely different.
They rely on his arm to win these games, guys.
And I know you're not looking at it and saying,
all right, Donald's in the same breath as Josh Allen
or Mahomes or even Herbert. But you go back these
(24:27):
last three weeks. Let's start with Chicago outside in overtime.
They got to go ninety yards to win this game
in overtime, and Donald was just a technician on this drive,
perfect on.
Speaker 8 (24:36):
The drive, leads him the whole way.
Speaker 7 (24:38):
Last week against the Cardinals, they were down ten in
this game. The fourth quarter, it's like, all right, Donald,
we're gonna put the ball in your hands. And in
the fourth quarter of that Cardinals victory.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
It was Donald, Donald, Donald Donald.
Speaker 7 (24:50):
And then you go to yesterday and it's the Falcons
and it's we're not just gonna run the ball with
Aaron Jones and hope for the best.
Speaker 8 (24:57):
We're gonna we're just gonna blow these guys out by
throwing all over them.
Speaker 7 (25:00):
Like Donald's been great, and it's it's a misnomer to
call him a game manager. It's also insulting. It's insulting
the callout game manager. He has huge numbers this season.
He doesn't throw interceptions. In these last three games, he
has thrown nine touchdown passes and zero picks.
Speaker 8 (25:17):
Please game manage that.
Speaker 5 (25:19):
Why do you think people are doing that.
Speaker 7 (25:23):
They've got they've got bias from what they've known of
him in the past.
Speaker 8 (25:26):
Yeah, it's very ill. Yeah, I've never been that guy.
Speaker 5 (25:29):
His personality is kind of underspoke, no doubt and like
maybe his I think we're so intoxicated by the highlights
of Alan and the homes and like he doesn't do
those types of plays.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
He just I mean, he was amazing yesterday. Yeah, it's
very easy.
Speaker 9 (25:41):
It just feels like it's easy to say, hey, here's
the narrative, let's stick to that. But you know what,
that was the old Sam Donald. I think it's time
to update the software on like the prison in which
we view him when you we've all been there before
where you have an appy like it's not working right,
and then you go into the general thing section and
it says update and oh there it is. Yeah, it
(26:01):
works better now. This is the new Sam.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Donald change the fond and they changed everything for you.
Think about it. I hard to get used to it,
and once you do, you're like, actually, this is better
your hack.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
They brought on a new engineering team like Kevin O'Connell.
Speaker 9 (26:11):
Yes, and he's writing the script. In the way he's
writing that script is with his dog wide receivers. You
look at what Jordan Addison did in that game, and
Justin Jefferson is outstanding. And especially you look at there
are times when the Falcons they were in single high
and they were cheating over to Justin Jefferson, treating Jordan
Addison like he was a number two receiver. He's not
a number two receiver. If you look at what he
(26:32):
did his rookie year, almost a thousand yards. He's big time, primetime,
show time, all the time, good time. Like in this
position right here, you can't you're leaving Justin Jefferson opening.
It's confusing. Jordan Addison is not the number two receiver.
He's a one point five and they need to start
treating him that way, and the defenses need to start
doing that. But his ability to go out there and
stretch the field because he has two dog wide receivers
(26:53):
and running back who's popping over five and a half
yards in this game with Aaron Jones, it gives them
a lot of options, especially in that play action. That's
why so much was opening up for him. But kudos
Damn Darnold the new updated version.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (27:07):
Well, if you want to talk updates, the Falcons are
that one when you when you were about to go
to bed and they're like, do you want us to
update overnight.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
And you're like, sure, go for it, and then you
wake up in the morning, like, what the hell is this?
What the mailer? Damon? I want to can I up?
I want to go back to my own phone. They're like,
that's the Falcons.
Speaker 5 (27:29):
The Falcons beat the Buccaneers twice, they beat the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
What is this team?
Speaker 3 (27:34):
What what happened?
Speaker 2 (27:36):
I thought, Okay, you hit rock bottom. It's fine.
Speaker 5 (27:38):
Cousins never played worse, He's been through worse than this.
Raie Morris motivational guy, energetic this would be the day
that they lift themselves back up, and it was just
not they showed up, but no credit for showing up.
This is a team that was the first place for
most of the season and it's just very, very, very bad.
And it's it's like it's almost to the extent of
right now where the Eagles were going through last year,
(27:59):
where they just died on a vine out of nowhere
and they didn't have the record the Eagles did, but
they had the momentum and the like just just sleepwalk
to the division title. No one's catching you now. It's like,
I don't don't think I can win a game again.
Speaker 7 (28:10):
Cousins came out hot, it was like seven and seven.
It starts going to work and then it just fell apart.
I'll tell you I reported this yesterday on Fox, Like
Michael Pennox did not take any first team reps last week,
Like there weren't there wasn't this discussion internally like hey,
do we get our first round rookie going and do
we get the eighth overall pick on the field.
Speaker 8 (28:27):
It's more let's let's ride with Kirk.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
This is Raheem.
Speaker 5 (28:29):
Right after the game, Kirk Cousins is our quarterback. I
mean he's sticking to him, he's into him. So that
just tells me that, like, if if you just go
Kirk again this week, then you're looking at things bigger.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
You're looking at the next couple of years.
Speaker 8 (28:41):
You're you're not trying to make protecting Pennis.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
Yeah, you're protecting cuttings and.
Speaker 7 (28:45):
You're sacrificing in the short term of pop for a
chance for a pop or a little bump from a
rookie quarterback that can be mobile.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
And I don't want to do the schedule game is
just okay.
Speaker 5 (28:54):
So they're playing the Raiders on the Giants next win
those games they have to.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
If they lose next week to the Raiders, it's like,
that's a mushroom cloan.
Speaker 9 (29:01):
That's when I think you put in Pennis.
Speaker 8 (29:03):
See they're not.
Speaker 9 (29:04):
That's yeah, I mean that's when I would say, Okay,
if you lose to the Raiders in that situation, then
you say this.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Is what over.
Speaker 9 (29:10):
Yeah, let's go ahead and see what we have in
Pinnis in the remaining part of the season and see
what that looks like. But right now they're still in
that fight, and it doesn't make sense. You just hope
that you're going to get the best out of Kirk
Cousins going up in those two games.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Good.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
You can I make a programming prediction on December or
whatever week eighteen, Vikings at Lions.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
Can that be the Sunday night football game?
Speaker 4 (29:31):
Because that if, Peter Wright, if the Lions went out
the rest of the month and the Vikings do but
beat the Lions at the end of the month, they
have the same record, and the Vikings have then beat
the most recently, does that give the Vikings the top
of the NFC or.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
The third what's the third treak?
Speaker 8 (29:45):
And the division?
Speaker 3 (29:45):
Okay?
Speaker 8 (29:46):
Yeah, oh man, they would then have split. But I'll
tell you what.
Speaker 7 (29:50):
The Lions play the Bills this weekend, and if they
lose that game and the Vikings keep on doing what
they're doing, the Vikings could end up being the division
champions despite this Ceperworld parade done for the Lions.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
That's two Lions Bills predictions right now.
Speaker 8 (30:00):
You got in Detroit.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
I'm just joking, Peter. We'll save it all week. It
was ready to go. It went right to that. I
got I was ready to go.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
We'll do it.
Speaker 8 (30:12):
Buffalo bad loss yesterday.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
Loss loss you watch the game.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
I was so yes, okay, yes, but I like, I don't.
I'm not talking about it because I.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Was just there. I don't have like special insight or anything.
It was low. There were a lot of Bills fans.
I saw the game on TV. Guys, what was too out?
Well like before the game, I actually do have one take.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
Okay, the optics they always showing these Rams games. Look
at all these visiting I'm sure there were a lot
of Bills fans. There are a lot of Rams fans.
And also it helps when it's Bills fans because they
were blue.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
They were blue, and it looks better.
Speaker 5 (30:45):
So if the Rams fans, if you could just get
the Colts to come in and and the Giants like
that actually helps a lot. But believe me, when Nukua
scores the last touchdown, the place goes crazy.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
This this misnomer. There's no Rams fans. There's a lot
of Rams fans, trust me.
Speaker 8 (30:58):
I was there about Chargers.
Speaker 5 (31:00):
I haven't been new Charges game. I'm not a new game,
so I can't say. But I think you're bating me
with that question. And I have to go to a
charge this game.
Speaker 4 (31:06):
But the Rams were great, see it we're going to
rewind that here on the show. We got plays that
had us reaching for the remote. Kyle's like, I want
to be nice to guys, Like what if they make
a mistake.
Speaker 3 (31:16):
Now I'm going to run it back. I'm one of
the plays that we're going to.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Peter's about to Bill's lives right here on Monday morning.
Look at you. I would never do that to you,
Peter in.
Speaker 8 (31:24):
Monday eight forty five am, here's gonna win on that.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
Just own it all week. I would never think it's
going to be actually good morning football.
Speaker 4 (31:42):
It's very rare on GMFB that when I go to
Cherry Burris, she truly is the keeper of the keys,
the driver of this bus. Cherry Burris has a big
announcement that she has to make and we are just
waiting on the edge of her seats about it.
Speaker 14 (31:53):
It's like, how long do you guys want to wait
for this? Super exciting well. The NFL officially announcing is
International Player Pathway Program class of twenty twenty five. Fourteen
athletes representing thirteen nations around the world are included this
year's class, including a Jamaican gold medalist. As a high
profile rugby athlete in Australia as well, program continuing to
(32:15):
identify elite global talent with the aim of providing selected
athletes the opportunity to improve and develop their skills and
ultimately earn a spot on an NFL roster. Maybe someday
we'll see them on a Sunday. But since the IPP
program inception in twenty seventeen, forty one international players have
signed with NFL teams. Twenty three IPP athletes currently on
(32:39):
NFL rosters that we can cheer for right now, Jamie,
it's great.
Speaker 4 (32:42):
It's really cool to see their developments. We know when
we see the games go internationally. There is a lot
of feature programming around this, and we're going.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
To talk to Scott Peoley, I believe this week about it.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
The International Player Pathway Program is a thrilling venture for
the NFL, and like Erry said, we can't wait to
see these guys on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
I got it.
Speaker 4 (33:04):
But by the time you see us again, there will
be another member of the team at the table.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Time for rewind that, Akbar, your play is up first.
Speaker 9 (33:10):
Okay, let's go to this one. I love this one.
I mean you talk about going to throwback movies. This
run right here, Josh Mittelis makes an amazing interception here
off of a nice little blitz here and then take
a look. They pay off this celebration with a nice
little celebration.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
I'm gonna show you here. But look at this right here.
Speaker 9 (33:29):
Josh Mittelis goes out again the interception. What happened, and
then rewind that one more time.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
It's a great play.
Speaker 8 (33:35):
They bring it all out blitz and then bom.
Speaker 9 (33:38):
Nice pick and then let's say, rush to the other
end zone for a celebration.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
We're gonna see the pick fight again. Yeah no, here
we go, Here we go.
Speaker 9 (33:47):
This is from the movie White Ticks, and they executed this.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
This took them thirty minutes.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
Slim is ridiculous slip.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
I had to see that one again. It was so cool.
Speaker 9 (33:59):
I mean, this is getting really really elaborate. Now they've
gone too far in a good way, number too.
Speaker 3 (34:05):
Far, Guyle.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
I love White Chicks. I love the movie too, all right.
Speaker 5 (34:09):
So I also love when non kickers are kickers. That's undefeated,
don't we always love that?
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Why am I going to do it?
Speaker 5 (34:15):
And read of the Kansas City Chiefs because he was
out there blasting kickoffs.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
This is a really good safety. Had four tackles yesterday.
Speaker 5 (34:20):
You know, the kickers deal with the Chiefs, they've been injured, retakes.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
The kickoffs and just pow, they do a touch back.
Speaker 5 (34:28):
I looked it up like there's no extensive soccer background.
It wasn't like he was his high school's kicker. He
just messes around in practice. A few years ago.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
Let the end, Yes, imagine that.
Speaker 5 (34:36):
That's the advantage of having your safety as a kicker.
You have another safety running down on kickoff makes the tackle.
He did it a few years ago too, when he
came in for a Harrison Bucker. Dad kicks him actual kicks.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
But this was just so look at it. That's the kicker.
Speaker 5 (34:49):
That's that guyro sent up anything you're on, Steptan Reid,
and yes you're down.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
I will always love that. Perfect What a new name
for a new position for him.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
All right, we're not a hybrid role.
Speaker 4 (34:59):
Mine is a play from the Eagles Panthers game. It
was just what to here to be a very basic
run for Jalen Hurts. He's trying to chase Saquon Barkley
through the offensive line, and just some traffic happened, and
I wonder if there was a broadcaster on the call
that just had a feeling about what that might be
like as a quarterback. You want into your life.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
Let's go. He's got a fall on Suon Barkley at
the center. Jurgins, Hey, listen, I mean that's tough to
commentate on. He ran into his own guy. At least
he held out of the football.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Heggy Mark Sanchez, there it is.
Speaker 4 (35:33):
It was so great and it's play by play partner
that he's partnered with on Fox.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
Peter was like, I was.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
Never gonna be the first to bring it up, Mark,
but since you did, and they had a nice little
haja about it, so it was cool.
Speaker 9 (35:42):
To make fun of yourself.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Sanchez, Yeah, man, what are you gonna do?
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Mortal? He's a catching nickname.
Speaker 8 (35:48):
Sanchez could have used a really good tight end.
Speaker 7 (35:50):
He had some in his curve, but he could never
he could The Jets franchise could use this too. Rock
Bowers is tearing up the league. Rock Bowers yesterday had
an amazing day. Yet again they had a sick catch here.
This is a one handed ground like, this is a
tight end, not.
Speaker 8 (36:05):
A watch Faber.
Speaker 7 (36:06):
He leads the NFL and receptions he's Unbelievable's a wookie.
He's going to be a first team All Pro. I
think he's the best tight end in football this year.
That includes Travis Kelcey, includes George Keittle, and he's doing it.
Speaker 8 (36:18):
