Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good My Mom, Goo Enough the Buffalo Bills selection.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Please welcome Josie out the door.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
Today's a special day, not just for the Bills, but
for everyone who knows what Buffalo stands.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
For, heart, grit, and family.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
I'm proud to be a part of the Bills ownership,
in the Bills family, thanks to Terry Pagoula and the
Pagola family and the city that never stops believing. In Buffalo,
we don't just draft players, We draft dreams, We draft hope,
and we draft fighters. And today we add another chapter
to that story. And with the one hundred and seventy
(01:03):
third pick in the fifth round of the twenty twenty
five NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bill select Jackson.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Hawes, tight end in Georgia. Ten. What's good?
Speaker 5 (01:14):
That was Bill Honor and US soccer legend Jealousy Altatur
announcing one of the newest members. Bill and he joins
us right now. Great to see your face. This is
awesome that you're joining us on the show. And very
good job with the announcement. By the way, so you've
done a ton of really cool things in your life.
You were telling us a little bit about playing in
Toronto before.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
What was it like though, being on.
Speaker 5 (01:37):
The draft stage in Green Bay in front of everyone
in the heart of the NFL world to announce the
pick at the draft.
Speaker 6 (01:45):
I mean, first, thank you guys so much for having me.
Big fan of the show. It's an honor to be here.
So yeah, that was different for me. You know, they
don't there's no prep for something like this. So you
walk out on the stage right and there's one hundred
and so odd people, one hundred thousand, so odd people.
Speaker 7 (02:00):
It's it's a really unique and incredible environment.
Speaker 6 (02:03):
And I loved it. Honestly, I loved it. It felt like,
you know, you're playing days again in a sense. So
I had a great time. And it's such a big
honor to make a pick like that for the Bills
nation and all the Bills fans in attendance.
Speaker 7 (02:16):
It was so cool.
Speaker 8 (02:17):
Josie talking about the draft, you yourself were the seventeenth
overall pick in the twenty in two thousand and six
MLS Super Draft, and as now a partial owner of
the Buffalo Bills, what kind of advice would you have
for rookies that are now transitioning into the pro life
for the Buffalo Bills and rookies around the NFL.
Speaker 6 (02:39):
Yeah, it's, it's, it's it's definitely a challenging time. I think,
you know, the landscape and sports is changing. You know,
you have nil, you have all these different things that
have kind of shifted how we go about, you know,
making developing players. So, you know, I would just say
to the guys, you know, keep the main thing, the
main thing, you know, don't forget you know what.
Speaker 7 (02:57):
You know what brings a lot of.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
These activations and activity that we see happened to guys
as they transition in their careers.
Speaker 7 (03:04):
You know, so it's really important to.
Speaker 6 (03:06):
Hone your craft, to learn how to be a good pro,
take care of your body, all those things. And keeping
the main thing the main thing really helped me keep
you know, my toes on the ground and focus on,
you know, the task at hand.
Speaker 9 (03:21):
Josie, let's go back to Green Bay and back to
the drafts. You know how this works. You're announcing to
pick your backstage. There's a lot of waiting around. You
have no idea who the player is going to be,
what their name is. That's all this mystery and then
there's this moment where someone taps you on the shoulder,
hands you the card and it says Jackson Hawes Georgia Tech.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
What was that moment like and just take us into that.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
You know, well, first, congratulations Jackson Hawes, you know, talented.
Speaker 7 (03:49):
We're super excited at the pick.
Speaker 6 (03:50):
And yeah, I mean, it's it's it's exhilarating because there's
a lot of there's a lot of things happening, as
you know at a draft, right, a lot of a
lot of things changing in the war room, so you
have to constantly be on your.
Speaker 7 (04:01):
Toes ready for whatever. But it's it's it's kind of fun.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
You know, it's really fun the way it's set up
and the way it challenges teams to kind of think
on the fly. So you know, it was it was fun.
It was great to be a part of the process,
and like I said, it was a huge honor.
Speaker 10 (04:16):
Hey, Josie, are there any soccer traditions that you would
like to see incorporate into the NFL games. I know,
for me, I'm actually a big soccer fan. I watched
the Premier League. I love it. I love the player
escort tradition. Wanted to get your perspective on that.
Speaker 7 (04:29):
Yeah, that'd be interesting. You know, the NFL has got
some big dudes, so.
Speaker 6 (04:34):
Different, but you know, I don't know, you know, I
think the NFL right now is such a wonderful brand.
I think they've done a terrific job with the fan engagement,
bringing the game internationally. We saw that in the draft,
you know, picks being announced from all over the world.
So it's it's definitely hard when you think about how
can they be better because they do so many things. Well,
you know, in Buffalo, you know, we have a lot
(04:56):
of great fan engagement, So I don't think we need
anything more right now. I think the kids, you know,
walking out with the players would be a cool touch.
I think that'd be kind of fun. Yeah, let's see.
I think it'd be cool to brainstorm. But but soccer
is a bit different, you know, in terms of how
the fans act. But in Buffalo we bring a lot
of that. You know, the fans don't sit the entire game.
(05:16):
They're they're they're hooting and hollering and uh, it's a
really fun environment. So we'll see what we can add on.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
We'll see, all right, So you talk about the fan
engagement in Buffalo. I feel like everyone in their life
should experience a Bill's tailgate at least once. So if
you get to do it, I don't know if you
have done it yet, but if you do it this
upcoming year, would you rather jump through a table or
take a shot out of pinto Ron's bowling ball?
Speaker 7 (05:43):
You know, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (05:45):
That's two choices, difficult choices, but you know what, you
know you'll probably see me do a little bit of both.
I don't know, you know, it's it's it's really difficult
to not engage with such an infectious fan base.
Speaker 7 (05:57):
You know that there's such behind the team.
Speaker 6 (05:59):
You know they're already prepping for games from Thursday on
in Buffalo. It's it's just an incredible you know what
it means to the city. So we'll see what happens.
I think maybe more likely a shot. I'll have to
clean out the bowling ball first, but maybe a shot better.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
You know, I love that for you, good for community. Probably, Yeah.
Speaker 10 (06:19):
Now, Josie, the World the World Cup is coming here
next summer in LA I can't wait for it. Personally,
I'm definitely going to check it out. I'm not sure
how many drivers are going to be excited about that.
With the traffic already how it is, I don't know
how to take it. What is your take though on
Team USA right now in the state of soccer just
in the United States.
Speaker 6 (06:37):
Oh, it's incredible, you know, you know, like you said,
a home World Cup is going to be, you know,
such a great, great honor for the US. I think
it's going to really cause a really big kind of
explosion in the game where we see kind of the
effect that we had in ninety eight, you know, in
terms of soccer in the United States. So really excited
for what it's going to bring to the game and
(06:57):
how it's going to bring a ton of growth, and
excited for our squad, you know, I know, you know,
there's been some challenges in the up, but anytime you
get a home World Cup on home soil, you know,
in a stadium like so far, where you're going to
have you know, seventy thousand you know, USA fans screaming,
I think it's going to be an incredible experience. And
you know, I actually had had a chance to tour
(07:18):
the National Training Center, the new National Training Center in Atlanta, Georgia,
and you know what's coming to this country is incredible
for the game, so really excited for our national team,
you know, super pumped for the for the country to
host the World Cup, and I think it's going to
do wonders for the development in the game and it's
going to have a ripple effect for years to come.
Speaker 8 (07:37):
Jase, I'm so glad you brought up the World Cup.
But before the World Cup starts this summer, the FIFA
Club World Cup starts. Tell us a little bit about that, Josey.
I didn't know that was a different thing. I thought
it was just a FIFA World Cup. But tell us
a little bit about that. FIFA Club World Cup.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
Yeah, people, World Club is basically a collection of some
of the best clubs in the world, basically from each continent.
So you'll have MLS teams, South American, Asian teams, years European,
all over the globe coming here to compete and basically
a world Cup to decide that the best club team
in the world. So you know, that's another tournament that's
really exciting, really important for you know, clubs like you know,
(08:17):
our MLS clubs, clubs in League A, mex and Mexico,
European clubs, you know, it's important for these clubs kind
of face each other in the United States again, an
opportunity for the game to grow and for kids all
over the country to come out and watch some of
their favorite world soccer players.
Speaker 10 (08:33):
Hey, Josie, is that the same as the Champions League
tournament or no?
Speaker 7 (08:39):
It is a collection of the European gosh best teams.
So this is a collection of all the best teams
around the world.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
So whether you play in Europe, South America, the United States,
you know, all the best teams from around the world
have been selected and will compete in this tournament in
terms of club teams.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Gotcha.
Speaker 9 (08:59):
Well, on the topic of a global collection of greatness,
jose you have some really cool stuff on your Instagram.
You have photos from the two thousand and eight Summer
Olympics and it's you, and it's Kobe and it's a
much younger Lebron. These are amazing. Can you tell us
stories about these please?
Speaker 7 (09:16):
Oh Man, obviously you know rescipees. Kobe Bryant huge legend.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
He's a huge fan of soccer in our country, so
he was a huge advocate for US soccer. We love
Kobe obviously an incredible role model. This was Yeah, the
two thousand and eight Beijing Olympics. Incredible experience, you know,
funny fun fact. Actually, so we weren't actually staying in
the village, so we weren't supposed to attend this, but
myself and a group of guys were like, this is
(09:42):
once in a lifetime. We got to go down to
the village, go to the opening ceremonies and you know,
looking back at it now, such a great choice, right,
like to be able to see so many great stars
and you know those are some of the pictures you
see there. But you know, there was Dirk, there was
a ton of other people, a da other sports. A
surreal experience and so happy we got to do it,
(10:03):
and it was an honored represent in the United States.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
Well, it was an honor to have you come on
our show this morning.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 5 (10:09):
And listen if you do end up taking a shot
out of Pinto Ron's bowling ball, a couple feet away from.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Him is Captain Bill.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
Captain Buffalo, I'm sorry, excuse me, Captain Buffalo, who makes
meatballs in a bedpan and apparently there.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
To die for.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
So you can also check that out as well. Make
sure you come back survive that talk some bills with
us anytime. Thank you so much, Josie for coming on.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Good football.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
Okay, so we're all still recovering from the three days
of draft in Green Bay, but we're gonna try and
make sense of it all with a little game.
Speaker 8 (10:56):
Called Drafts of Perlatives.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
So maybe in your high school you were most likely
to succeed or I was most artistic.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
I really did a lot with that.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Matt I said that in his high school he had
a most likely to get arrested, which I can't believe that.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
I wasn't me, Guys, it definitely wasn't me.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
Okay, were because I feel like you were no.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Well, thank you.
Speaker 9 (11:21):
I think most most of the some when I got there,
it was all like a political correctness and sensitivity. They
got rid of them because all the parents were too mad.
Let's be honest. Some of those would be like biggest flirt,
Like you don't want your kid to be biggest flirt,
to be like biggest trouble maker, biggest like some they
were very loaded topics and what they were saying. So
my school started getting rid of them. I didn't get squat.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
Wow, I missed opportunity.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Me personally. Yeah, it was actually the most funniest.
Speaker 9 (11:47):
Really, class clows.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
You you're t to be the class clown? What do
you feel? How you feel about that? Exactly?
Speaker 9 (11:57):
That's what I'm saying, Like your kid's a class clown.
It's like my kids the imbecile, Like I want to
get that went the future president.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
You know they're unloaded. All right, Well, let's.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
Get to our own and we are going to start
with most likely to succeed.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
In year one.
Speaker 5 (12:12):
Of all the rookies we saw in Green Bay, who
do you think, Chase.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Give me Travis Hunter the Unicorn.
Speaker 10 (12:17):
And Travis Hunter to me, was already the best football
player coming out.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
In this draft.
Speaker 10 (12:22):
He does everything in so many things so well.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
I think he has the best bass because I've.
Speaker 10 (12:26):
Seen coming out of the NFL in the college football
part in last five to ten seasons. But this to
me is more about Liam Cohen. Actually, I had personal
experience with Liam down in Tampa last season. He's an
offensive google, offensive genius, and he's going to utilize Travis
Hunter in so many ways on the offensive side of
the football. But more importantly, Travis coming into that situation
(12:47):
with Brian Thomas junior across from him is going to
allow him to always see the cornerback's second best defense
defensive player. So the QB, the cornerback number one is
going to be guarding Brian Thomas.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
He's going to take most of the attention.
Speaker 10 (12:59):
Travis Hunter is gonna have a crazy matchup. He's going
to be a matchup nightmare. I want to point out
something else as well. With his dynamic ability of catching
the football and running after the catch, I believe Liam
Colin is gonna use him a lot in the slot.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
My good friend cig Christian Godwin shout out to you. Brother.
Speaker 10 (13:14):
Before he got injured, he was at five hundred and
seventy nine yards in seven games. And I think Travis
Hunt's gonna have a big time season. I think he's
going to really revolutionize and bring Trevor Lawrence back to
his glory days.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
I like that.
Speaker 8 (13:25):
I like Travis Hunter. I like how you called him
the Unicorn, which everybody's been calling him.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
The reason why I have the guy that I have.
His name is Madechai.
Speaker 8 (13:33):
Starks, a safety out of Georgia drafted to the Baltimore Ravens.
The reason why I think that he's most likely to
succeed is because he doesn't have to be a unicorn.
He doesn't have to be a franchise changing player. He
just can be Madechai Starks. He can be the ball hawk. Now,
when you are drafted into the NFL and you are
a rookie, the best thing you can have as a
(13:53):
mentor in a perfect world, your mentor is in the
same position group as you and gets who he's playing alongside.
Kyle Hamilton. Kyle Hamilton is one of the best. Say
he's in the game. He's one of the most cerebral.
He is a guy that they had to take from
being playing close a line of scrimmage, doing a lot
of Troy Polamalu type plays. But then they have to
(14:13):
put him in a deep third to kind of shore
everything up for that defense. We saw the difference in
the Baltimore Ravens defense when they did move him. Now
you have Malachi Starks a lot like Ed Reid. He
can play from silin to sideline. He's very instinctual. He
can come up in the run game if you need
him to. But that allows the Ravens to take Kyle
Hamilton and use him the way that he wants to
(14:34):
be you that they want to use him, which is
close to the line of scrimmage disguising coming off the
edge on blitzz. So I really think that Malachai Starks
is set up the best to succeed in this class
because he's surrounded by guys, by guys like Kyle Hamilton
Rowan Smith, guys that are vocal. He doesn't have to
take on so much responsibility. And again, he doesn't have
(14:54):
to be the unicorn Malachi Starks.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
You don't got to be a unicorn. Just be Malachai
Starks and you'll be just fine. It's pretty cool.
Speaker 9 (14:59):
And he'll get to go against the Pickens and DK
and that first Baltimore Pittsburgh game. I'm going to go
with the deep cut for me. Guys, I don't even
know if you've heard of this. You got a load
of this cam scataboo guy.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
I'm only on. I think he's in a great position
to succeed.
Speaker 9 (15:13):
He is in the position which is about five minutes
down the road.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
For me.
Speaker 9 (15:17):
That is number four in your program for the Arizona
State Summon Sun Devils, number one in your heart, maybe
number three on the Giants' depth chart.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
But Brian dabel is going to run the ball. I
don't know if the.
Speaker 9 (15:27):
Giants have the firepower to compete with Philadelphia or even Washington.
They got a deep running back room, they got new quarterbacks,
and they have a new beginning and a new organization
now that they drafted number four from Arizona State. Cam
Scataboo most likely to succeed future president.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
If you ask me, I'm into it. KP.
Speaker 8 (15:45):
I got a quick question. I know you'll love for
camp Stataboo. If Cap Scatabou asked LT for fifty six,
what would you say.
Speaker 9 (15:53):
LT wishes that he could go back to his career
and wear four Scatabu like he wants the time machine
so he can honor Scataboo.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
That's the answer. It's a great question. He said.
Speaker 5 (16:02):
He's been doubted his entire life, but not by Kyle Brandt.
Unfortunately he did not meet Kyle Brandt earlier in his life.
But yeah, he'll be playing with that ship on his shoulder.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
The draft is always filled with surprises, also.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
A ton of energy and emotion.
Speaker 5 (16:18):
So the player you'd give best reaction to, and there
were so many, so I feel like this is a
really tough one Chase.
Speaker 10 (16:24):
Best reaction for me goes to my man Jack Besh
down going.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
To the Las Vegas Rags. Oh yeah good.
Speaker 10 (16:30):
I love his story, guys, and you know it was
very heartfelt story. He tragically lost his brother in New
Orleans Tiger at the terrorist attack down in Bourbon Street.
And you get a guy, you get Spy Tech called
in the GM for the Las Vegas Raiders. You see
him surrounded by nothing but family and friends. You know,
he's an emotional guy. It's an emotional moment for his family.
And I remember when he gets on the call. They
do the audio clip of it, and the first thing
(16:52):
he's telling spot Tech you getting.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
A dog, Baby, You getting a dog.
Speaker 10 (16:55):
And that's the mindset that's going to be needed to
change the culture down with the Raiders. And I think
that Jack Besh is a very good first step obviously,
along with Ashton Genty to do that for them.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (17:04):
I like the changing culture guy. Everybody knows I talk
about culture a lot on this show. But the guy
that I thought had the best reaction is a culture changer.
As a Patriots pick of Will Campbell McClain please play
this clip on his interview with Jamie I've worked my
entire life to be up here, to be able to
get my name called by franchise like New England A beats.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Everything to me. We can feel that, we absolutely can
feel that.
Speaker 11 (17:31):
Well, you are brought to New England to protect Drake May.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
What kind of.
Speaker 5 (17:35):
Tone are you going to set on this offensive line?
Speaker 2 (17:37):
I'm a fight and die to protect them with everything
like that.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
Boy, God, that seems aggressive.
Speaker 8 (17:46):
I have never wanted to cry and run through a
brick wall other than the birth of my two kids.
Then when I watched this kid talk about what it
took to get there, all the sacrifices that him and
his family made to get there, and then I'm going
to die to protect Drake May. I know the Patriots
know exactly what they're getting in Will Campbell and I
thought that was one of the best reactions of the
(18:08):
twenty twenty five NFL draft.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Kyle, I look, I like to fight. We don't need
anybody dying, all right, We're gonna be good. You fight,
you scrap you claw.
Speaker 9 (18:17):
I thought it was a really cool reaction too, but
it wasn't my favorite one. The best reaction is you guys,
get a load of camps Scatabou in the Bring Up.
Speaker 12 (18:25):
The video, right is bring up the video, And here's
the reaction of a person who thought they were going
first overall and should have gone first overall.
Speaker 9 (18:36):
He falls to one oh five. He has a beautiful
room of friends and family. There's a clock back there,
just tick ticking away. That's the pops who's in pest control.
He puts the hat. That's a beautiful moment. That's like
the circle of life and mufassa and Simboy puts the
hat on his son and he's getting the backpacks. I
will go Cam Scataboo for best reaction video. It's tough
(18:58):
to be a lot of players out there. I like
a lot of players, but I have no other choice
to go Scataboo for this question.
Speaker 5 (19:03):
Wow, I mean we need a counter of how many
times that we mentioned his name on.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
The show between now players start of the seasons.
Speaker 5 (19:11):
Okay, let's go to best draft fit. Because we saw
these guys coming in. Everyone had a different style, which
I love. They all talked to Kimmy Checks on the
red carpet at Lambeau, which was really cool.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
So who had who was.
Speaker 5 (19:25):
Best dressed out of the entire group?
Speaker 10 (19:27):
Chase, Oh black and beautiful, and I gotta go my man,
Jayleen Milroe, Jalen, you gotta let me know where you
got the.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Chrome Hearts Taylor Super. I mean that brother came out clean,
super clean.
Speaker 10 (19:38):
He came out nostalgic, came out cool, calm, collected. And
when I saw that Chrome Hearts shoe, I said, yeah,
this brother got style.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
It got style. You know who got style?
Speaker 8 (19:48):
Guys, that big man going to the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
Pull up Tyler Booker. Let me see this outfit.
Speaker 8 (19:54):
That he put on NFL Draft. Oh boy with the
double breasted brown swayed with the swede loafers penny loafers
to matching the cream pants. That boy was looking good.
He looked good in NFL Draft. I know he's gonna
look good for the Dallas Cowboys. He's what they want
there now, KB, if you say it, Campscott look good
(20:17):
in that jacket.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
KB. We have videos you KB, Who do you have? KB?
Because we got two really good ones.
Speaker 9 (20:25):
The first two questions were football questions. I'm a scatterboo guy.
This is a fashion question, so listen. You want to
know his best dress? Bring up the video. Hit the
video here's my best dress.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
It's unbelievable. Beat it. That's right. We got a gorgeous food.
Now go back to the video. I gotta see it.
Speaker 9 (20:43):
I gotta break it down. Faul fur collar. We got
a cool little chain under the black.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
I like the tone. Tone.
Speaker 9 (20:50):
He's got a He's got a hat that looks perfect
to compliment to the jacket. I would love to get
a look at the trousers. I bet he's got some
like custom wranglers or something like that.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
It is a beautiful outfit.
Speaker 12 (21:02):
It is.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
It is understated. I think it's a It's a.
Speaker 9 (21:05):
Thin corduroy, not even one of those thick, ostentatious corduroys. Understated.
That's a team first jacket. It's not about me. I
am a team player.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
We gotta watch. We got a time piece on it.
Speaker 9 (21:16):
I love that top to bottom he accessorizes.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
He's got neutral tones.
Speaker 9 (21:22):
It speaks to his mentality as a ball carrier. I'm angry,
but I'm also neutral in the huddle, and I'm team oriented.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
I think he absolutely crushed it. That's a dog right there.
Speaker 9 (21:31):
That guy should be in Milan right now, never mind
New Jersey.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
I love what he wants.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
Yo, way, Kate, Colleen, have you have you guys met yet?
You and Cam have you guys like? Has there been
like a date at all?
Speaker 3 (21:46):
A guy date, dude date?
Speaker 9 (21:47):
Well, we we he was on the show last week,
but remotely. I don't know if like there has to
be like a five hundred yard separation. We've never been
in the same room. Five hundred yards by the way,
probably what he will run for in his first game
as a New York Giants. So now that he's down
the road, we're gonna get him in our Manhattan studio
right here. We're gonna do it.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
I promise you, Kyle, which.
Speaker 5 (22:09):
New New York quarterback has more to prove? The Jets
justin Fields or the Giants? Russell Wilson and Bigger Bis.
Speaker 9 (22:17):
Question, Yeah, well probably Fields. I don't know if that's close.
We can do that different segment. I feel so much
different about this conversation before the draft, because there was
murmurs that maybe this is Russ's job and it's his thing.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
It's like, well, now there's this first round rookie in
the room. So the answers to the question who has
more to prove? I think it's Fields.
Speaker 9 (22:38):
I feel like last year was Russell Wilson's year to
prove it's in the wake of the Denver disaster. He
came in, he did have a really good run before
it fell apart. And now I feel like we're kind
of maybe at peace a little bit with Russell Wilson
about what he is and what he isn't.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
We still don't know what Justin Fields what he is
and what he isn't.
Speaker 9 (22:54):
Honestly, the whole Chicago thing in Pittsburgh also, like, I.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Still think it's Fields.
Speaker 9 (22:59):
He's much younger, he's played far less football, and I.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
Still think he is more of an un tapped deal.
But this is it.
Speaker 9 (23:06):
If the Jets thing doesn't work it out, this is
really You're gonna be your final shot.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
As a starter, I think. So my answer is Fields
totally agree.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
It's gotta be Fields, right, I mean, Russell Wilson, this
guy is a Super Bowl champ. What's he made like
two hundred million dollars at this point. He's made an
absolute ton of money. He's on the down side, we
all get that. But Wilson at least has some pelts
on the wall. He's been there, done that. Justin Fields
(23:35):
is zero for two okay, Chicago and Pittsburgh improving, he's
even an average starting quarterback in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
He has a chance to be Oh for three.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Not many people get three chances to show that they
can't be a starting quarterback in the NFL on a
consistent basis. It's easily fields And think about this for
a second. If you're a Jets fan, there is a
distinct possibility that there will be four starting quarterbacks in
the NFL. Yes, former Jets quarterbacks starting for other teams
(24:09):
listen better better than the Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh,
which is gonna happen, Gino Smith with the Raiders, Sam
Darnold with the Seahawks, and Joe Flacco maybe in Cleveland.
So there's a chance Week two that Jets fans watch
field to have a bad game. Then they turn on
the red zone and there's four other Jets quarterbacks all
(24:32):
playing better than their guy. That should be impossible, but
that might be the situation. And I gotta tell you.
Speaker 9 (24:39):
There's a one bad injury I hope doesn't happen in
Miami from keeping Zach Wilson on the field too. You know,
I'm like, there's all could be five.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
It could be five. Man, matt Ty, get in here, kV.
Speaker 8 (24:47):
You're gonna be proud of me. We don't like going
three for three in this segment. We don't like going
three for three in other segments. So I'm gonna zig
when everybody goes zag. Yeah, there's something, guys. This is
all I love about it show a lot of people.
Everybody else comes to the show to learn about football.
I come to this show to.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
Learn some grammar. And I got two of my Princeton.
Speaker 8 (25:03):
Brothers over there in New York. Ross is talking about
cost benefit analysis. I did some grammar research, K and
this is how it relates to Russell Wilson or Justin
Fields when I look back at the twenty twenty four
season for the both of them, Russell's Wilson's twenty four
season ended in and correct me if I'm wrong.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Guys, if I pronounce this wrong.
Speaker 8 (25:22):
An ellipsis What is an ellipsis?
Speaker 3 (25:24):
As three periods?
Speaker 8 (25:25):
And I looked up the definition of it and it
says can't be used to depict uncertainty. After the twenty
twenty fourth season, there's a lot of uncertainty as to
what Russell Wilson's future looks like compared to Justin Fields, which.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
His season ended in the M dash. Now what's an
M dash?
Speaker 8 (25:43):
An M dash are three hyphens usually depicted to represent
when the narrative is cut short.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
That is how I.
Speaker 8 (25:51):
See Justin fields twenty twenty four season compared to Russell Wilson's.
The Giants did draft the quarterback in the first round,
whereas the Browns.
Speaker 11 (25:59):
Didn't draft the quarterback at all.
Speaker 8 (26:01):
So there's anybody that needs to themselves to me, has
got to be Russell Wilson. I think Justin Fields is
in a great situation. And again, his twenty twenty four
season did end an M dash, whereas Russell Wilson it
did LOV and mdash.
Speaker 5 (26:18):
It's so underrated. Also, these two quarterbacks are ten years apart.
Justin Fields is twenty six years old. Russell Wilson is
thirty six years old. Right now he's playing for legacy,
whereas Justin Fields. I mean he's unproven at this point,
like you were saying, Kyle, and we'll have to see
where he takes this, because it really is at this
point he could go anywhere, has high potential. Let's go
(26:40):
to our second one, ready, to AFC nor teams that
don't know who their quarterback is, what their situation is.
Who are you more interested in the Steelers or the Browns.
Speaker 9 (26:52):
I was going to say the Giants. I like the
Giants room by far. It's the I mean, it's the Browns, right,
like the Browns. I'm I'm trying not to be insensitive.
That's one of the weirdest rooms ever. So if he
just let's the rundown. You have not only do you
have two rookie quarterbacks, you have one of the most polarizing,
reactive rookie quarterbacks in NFL history. Then you've got just
(27:15):
like the every man who's Kenny Pickett, who has a
lot of starting experience and has a Super Bowl ring
and all that. That's your room, right, No, then you
have a forty one year old Joe Flacco on his
eighth team and eight years who is in his own
way like this Rooster Cogburn legend, who's like one last job.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
I'm here. I have no idea what that room is.
I don't know what the depth chart is, I don't
know who the reps are.
Speaker 9 (27:39):
Russ let me ask you sometimes, is should your Sanders
definitely gonna make this team.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
He's the fourth quarterback, right, he's gonna make this Why
because a fifth round pick? Yeah, because they want to
see what they have in him.
Speaker 9 (27:50):
So seeing training camp they got three other quarterbacks, it's
definitely gonna be like, there's a chance you could not
make the team.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
They're gonna end up trading Flaco or Picket.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
Which one Picket? Probably?
Speaker 9 (27:58):
Right?
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Why would they bring in Flacco in the trade? I'm like, yeah,
probably Picket.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Interesting, but they might wait till some team has an
injury and needs a quality backup. They'll trade one of
those guys.
Speaker 9 (28:05):
Also Pick It might be much better than Sanduur, But
I don't right, But I don't understand if you hear
the Browns, why would you even play Picket or Flacco
this year?
Speaker 3 (28:14):
Like the Browns aren't going to the playoffs, right, I
think they might. Who know it's not the Flaco last time? Yeah, no,
they're not.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
So I think they should play Dylan Gabriel and Chador
Sanders and see if either one of those guys can
be the starting quarterback moving forward, because if they're not,
the Browns have those two first round picks next year
to draft arch Manning or Nuss Meyer or Drew All
or whoever they want next year. To me, this year
should be about what do you have in Dylan Gabriel
(28:42):
and shad Or Sanders. I think it's unlikely that they
would make the playoffs. And by the way, just based
on like the Travis Hunter trade, the Browns are building
for twenty twenty six.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
They're making moves. Check with twenty twenty six in mind.
What do you think Manti Well?
Speaker 8 (28:59):
I have a little argument with with Ross about the
whole those Blacko things.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
Because Joe Flacco.
Speaker 8 (29:06):
After Week thirteen, Joe Flacco joined the Browns and he
went four and one as their quarterback, so he's well,
he's very familiar with with the Cleveland Browns and they're
really familiar with him. Now, Kenny Pickett, you think about
the two the Browns are the Steelers. I think right
now the Steelers quarterback room moved for Kenny Pickett if
Kenny Pickett was in there, based on what they have
right now, even though they did draft him. I just
(29:28):
think he's he's better than the three that you have
right now. You're in a better situation if Kenny Pickett
is there rather than in Cleveland, and there's just more
to talk about. You know, we could look at the
two rookies with Dylan Gabriel and Shadua Sanders in that battle.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
But I see where you're going with that. Ross.
Speaker 8 (29:42):
I do think it should come down to the two rookies.
But Joe Flacco has proven himself for the Cleveland Browns
two years ago when he did go four and one
for him.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
So it's going to be something that I like to.
Speaker 8 (29:53):
Monitor, and I know that I think we're all going
to be kind of tuned into that whole thing too.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
Well.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
You know what the answer isn't Okay, The answer isn't
the Pittsburgh Steelers. I am disinterested in the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
It is Rogers. I am sick of it. I'm bored
with it. I don't want to talk about it. I
just want the guy.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
I can't wait until he actually says Aaron Rodgers he's
playing for the Steelers, and then we all find out
what he was waiting for. I guess he said that
he's stuff in his family circle whatever. But the question
is what's the more interesting quarterback situation? The Steelers isn't
interesting at all. The Steelers is annoying.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Boring. Interesting is not.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
A word I would usually describe the Steelers quarterback situation
right now.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
I mean, when was the last time that we weren't
interested or captivated or talking about the Browns quarterback situation?
I feel like it has been. When was the last
time there was stability in the quarterback room at Cleveland?
I don't even know. I guess Baker Mayfield for a second,
but you would have to go back.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
And years and years and years.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
What Bernie Cosar like. I'm not even sure when the
last time was so twas ever, the US the Browns
quarterback situation, and now the Steelers join them in that purgatory.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Good foot mon, He's back, He pumps, he scrambles around,
throws it back one of the end zone.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
Santonio in a touchdown, Santonio home. Uncon how he didn't
dominate crunchers. Drumbert. He doesn't know how he didn't. But
they wrote touchdown in the fire right front of the
end zone at Super Bowl forty three is history.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
The Pittsburg Steelers grab one the Super Bowl for a
sixth time, unprecedented in the handles of NFL play.
Speaker 8 (31:55):
How do you do it?
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Willie Cologne?
Speaker 5 (31:57):
How did Santonio Holmes pull that off? I want to
talk about all things Steelers with Willie Cologne. He spent
sixty years with them, won a Super Bowl with them,
was a fourth round draft pick by them. So I
must know obviously, I know this is low hanging fruit,
and we were just talking about, Oh this is to
that topic's too easy or this answer is too easy.
But we must talk about Aaron Rodgers. I need to
know what you think about this waiting game that the
(32:19):
Steelers are playing with him.
Speaker 11 (32:21):
Well, I do believe he's going to be playing for
the Steelers in the fall. It's just a matter of
them acknowledging it and in him walking in the building
and saying I'm all yours. The bottom line is they
don't have any options. I know I'm a believer in
Mason Rudolph, but you got to when you pay attention
to last season, especially toward the back end, they didn't
have a quarterback and Russell Wilson I could compete with
a Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson or Joe Burrow talked about
(32:43):
Aaron Rodgers Valley. He's forty two years old and he's
dealing with it coming off in Achilles two years ago.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
But he's still.
Speaker 11 (32:48):
Playing at a high level when he has enough time
in the pocket. I watched him with the New York Jets,
and towards the last couple of games, he started to
see resemblance of the old Aaron Rodgers. So now you
give him a run game, give him pieces on the
outside like a DK Metcalf and a you know, a
defense that can really go to work, and give them
back the ball, give them multiple.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
Opportunities to score. Things can happen. Now.
Speaker 11 (33:09):
A lot of baggage comes with Aaron Rodgers, and a
lot comes with them ball roll. There's Steelers want to compete.
They's tired of being a mediocre or just being mad
if you will. They need a quarterback that can raise
the bar and bring him to the next level.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
And Aaron Rodgers went healthy and.
Speaker 11 (33:23):
Enough time in the pocket, he can be that guy
for the Steelers.
Speaker 9 (33:26):
What's fascinating is this purgatory that we're in. Okay, because
we thought for sure, if it was going to happen,
it's got to happen before the draft.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
It didn't happen before the draft. They did take a
quarterback late.
Speaker 9 (33:38):
But there's also a way that Steelers do business which
everyone has a lot of respect for. There's a lot
of dignity there and there's takes that it is Dare
I say, undignified to sit around and wait for this
forty one year old guy to make his choice.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
Do I want to be with you? Do I not
want to be with you? As a former Steeler? How
do you feel? And how do you think Tomlin is
handling all this? I think they're handling it will.
Speaker 11 (34:01):
You had to believe they have had conversations, him and
mister and Mike tom and Anon Rodgers. They've all had
a conversation, and it's probably a timeline that we're just
not privy to. That's the bottom I think there's an understanding,
and I think there is an understanding. I also believe
that Anon Rodgers wants to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers,
or you wouldn't see footage of him throwing to DK
Metcalf on a high school field. You wouldn't see him
(34:21):
doing things with guys who are on the roster. So
I believe that he will be a Steeler. It's just
a matter of time and we'll see what happens. But
I think right now we just got to believe that
Anna Rodgers win and if win, because don't I don't
count my money.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Till it's in my hand. Will be a Pittsburgh steel
to come this fall man time? Yeah? Will.
Speaker 8 (34:38):
I totally agree with that that he is going to
be a Pittsburgh Steeler. But you did talk about that
he is a big character guy. He's a guy that
comes into that that locker room and could ruffle up
some feathers, could make some change. However, this is the
Pittsburgh Steelers and all I remember hearing from guys like
Troy Polamalu and Chris kim Oi out to is is
the Stealer Way. Can you elaborate what that means? Like,
I've never played for the Steelers, I've never been.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
In that locker room.
Speaker 8 (35:01):
So what is it that makes the Stealer way just
a little bit different that it kind of transcends whoever
comes into that locker room.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (35:08):
I tell everybody, if you wonder what the stealerway is
and what the creed is, go back to Troy pola
Madel's Hall of Fame speech and he laid it out
very playing and simple. It's about playing for your brother,
playing itselfish a brand of football, and I was privy
to play it, not along just alongside Troy Pola Madel,
but a host of other guys who would jump on
the grenade for their brother.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
And that's what it means.
Speaker 11 (35:28):
And so when it comes down to playing to steal Away,
it's about family first.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
It's about accepting the challenge.
Speaker 11 (35:34):
And realize if you put your best foot forward and
be willing to be there in the battle for your brother,
good things will happen. And that's what was so special
about my time in Pittsburgh that I had guys like
Ben Wassberger, Hayes Ward, Aaron Smith, and a.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
Host of others. Troy Pola, Madel, all these guys.
Speaker 11 (35:48):
Would do anything and everything to win on Sunday, but
they were willing to do everything for me and the
rest of my teammates. And that's what the Pittsburgh Steelers
I knew and grew the love is because it's not
about just the simbo on the side of your home
and it's not about the paycheck. It's about being there
for your brother when it counts the most. And that's
the steal away.
Speaker 9 (36:04):
We're turning the page with Rogers, but We've been remissed
to not talk to you about the last chapter. You
are very, very very plugged in with the Jets. It
did not end in a way anybody wanted with Rogers,
up to and including him divulging the details of a
conversation with the new head.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
Coach flippantly emotionally, give us.
Speaker 9 (36:22):
A breakdown of your thoughts on how it ended with
Rogers and the Jets.
Speaker 11 (36:25):
Well, I'm gonna say this. I understand Aaron Glenn's urgency.
I understand him really realizing like I got a shock
confidence back into this locker room, and understand that I
got a core group of guys in Quinton Williams, Salz Gardner,
Garrett Wilson, guys who when they joined the organization was
drafted by this organization. They had a belief that they
was going to change to how the Jets are perceived,
(36:48):
and it hasn't happened. You know, a lot of these
guys come from winning organizations and now that they've been
a Jet, all they've done is lost. And you talk
about quin Williams's twenty seven years old, who's going to
be in next three year, is going to be thirty
years old. He hasn't sniffed the playoffs. That's a long
time being outside of the playoffs. So I understand aaron approach.
A lot of people talked about his delivery and the
conversation him and Aaron Rodgers had that really doesn't mean
(37:10):
anything to me because Aaron Glenn was in the building
when I was in two back in twenty thirteen as
a scout, and now he's back in the building as
a head coach.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
The Jets still haven't made a playoff.
Speaker 11 (37:19):
So he has a fire in his belly about realizing
that I got to save this locker room believe that
they can win, and I got to get these guys
moving in the right direction, and I got built a
philosophy and a coach where these guys can travel.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
You understand that just were two.
Speaker 11 (37:31):
And five on the road, and the Buffalo Bills when
the AFC Championship.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
And they were five and four. Those are the top
dogs at that division.
Speaker 11 (37:38):
And he has to get this Jets team real like,
we have the talent, we have the personnel, but we
got to be a walking brand and a rough and
tough group that can win on the road, win at.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
Home, and get into the playoffs.
Speaker 11 (37:47):
That's all Aaron Glenn cares about, and that's all any
Jets fans should care about.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
Getting to the playoffs and winning and.
Speaker 5 (37:52):
Changing culture is something that takes a while. That's something
that hopefully Aaron Glenn will be able to turn things
around quickly. But that seems like the main thing that
needs to change first. Anything anyone that's toxic needs to go.
Everyone needs to buy in. And that sounds like why
one of the reasons potentially why Aaron Rodgers is not
a good fit for Aaron Glenn. So we'll just sit
(38:13):
on pause and kind of wait for Lord Rogers to
bestow us with his decision whenever that is. But the Steelers, meanwhile,
they drafted quarterback Will Howard. And you played with Big
Ben when he was on his way to becoming an
absolute legend. So do you think that Will Howard can
be the Steelers' next long term answer at quarterback?
Speaker 3 (38:32):
Well, so, I'll see.
Speaker 11 (38:33):
I mean, people don't realize he's a big man, just
like Big Ben. He's six' five and he's been through
a lot of. ADVERSITY i think one of the THINGS
i was telling About Will howard when they lost To,
michigan man this team could at tanked, right but they.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
Didn't they kept moving.
Speaker 11 (38:45):
On they put it together and they started laying teams
down one by one after, that and they went all
the way to The National. Championship one thing about Will,
howard he's a. Competitor and when you talk to his
teammates AND, kb you can tell because you played, football
they always actually. Teammate if you in a back, alley
it was, like who do you bring with your? Guy,
yeah people Say Will howard? Quarterback they say that quarter that's.
Rare that means a lot. Man that means a guy
(39:06):
who's willing. It LIKE i talked about this steal.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
Away what is the steal? Away being able to be.
Speaker 11 (39:10):
There for your, brother go to battle for your, brother
and compete.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
At the highest.
Speaker 11 (39:14):
Level and that's what HOW i was willing to. Do
now can he be the future for The Pittsburgh. Steelers
we should. See he will get the. Opportunity he just
has to. Perform BUT i like to pick when would you,
Say Willie James?
Speaker 9 (39:23):
Harrison oh mean, ay without a, Doubt, Deebo, yeah you.
Speaker 3 (39:28):
Don't even need to be. There just like if you
just send, debo you watch what do you?
Speaker 12 (39:33):
Got?
Speaker 8 (39:33):
Man REALLY i want to stay on the topic Of Big.
Ben we do a lot of, this, well at Least
kyle And colleen, does And jamie does as.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
Well it's called ad. Lib AND i.
Speaker 8 (39:41):
Remember when we were about to play The steelers that
week of, Prep Aaron glenn talking About Aaron glenn here
was our secondariest coach for The. Saints his report On
Big ben in that offense, Was, HEY i don't care
how they start their. Route Big ben is going to
add lib and he's going to scramble out of. There
he's going to break a couple of tackles and those
initial routes are going.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
To turn into other.
Speaker 8 (40:02):
Routs how was it for you playing with somebody Like
Big Ben and how is that experience to see him
operate behind?
Speaker 3 (40:09):
Center, well first and, foremost that's my. BROTHER i love
him to. Death but on the playing, field.
Speaker 11 (40:13):
If you're an office alarnment blocker from, understand you can't
play with a, clock, Right he's gonna, improvise he's gonna
move and, groove and he's gonna make it happen when
it counts the. Most and also at the end of the,
day he's a hard man to. Tackle when you see
that sixty five frame two hundred plus plus.
Speaker 3 (40:28):
Body you can't just throw one guy at.
Speaker 11 (40:30):
Him you gotta throw multiple waves of guys at him
because he can give you the dead, leg he could
take the impact and he could spur him out of.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
Anything but also he knows his own.
Speaker 11 (40:38):
Bodies you see him giving a guy did on right
here looking down the, field delivered the. Football one Thing
Bill ben does really, well he shows up when it
counts the. Most and that's that's the pretty much that
pitted me his. Career when you needed a, touchdown when
you needed a big, play you can count on.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
Seven and that's WHY i loved playing for.
Speaker 11 (40:53):
HIM a lot of times when we thought we were
dead in the, water you looked in his.
Speaker 3 (40:56):
Eyes, man he was.
Speaker 11 (40:57):
Ready he was ready to take it on the team
and put The cape on his. Back and that's why
he was a superhero for a lot of.
Speaker 9 (41:02):
Us he had to be incredible guy to block. Four
the plays never over're so fun to. WATCH i just
like seeing those. Highlights we Mentioned deebo a moment, earlier
were talking About James. HARRISON i think he made the
biggest play In Super bowl. HISTORY i don't think he
can have a bigger play in the sport on that
stage than the one that he made Against. Arizona to get,
you guys in A Super bowl ring right before. Halftime you're
on the. Team everybody watching knows this. Play BUT i
(41:24):
want to hear your perspective on The James harrison Off
Kirk warner pick.
Speaker 3 (41:28):
Sex just take us through. It, yeah so.
Speaker 11 (41:30):
Interesting i'm on the sideline trying to get some married
because we just stalled another drive and the defense got
back on the.
Speaker 3 (41:34):
Field.
Speaker 11 (41:34):
Man and what's interesting about this play At Mike tomlin
the week prior to this was, like, hey, guys.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
We're going to get an interception and we don't need a.
Speaker 11 (41:41):
Calvalry to rally and get this guy into the end.
Zone so we see Big Lamar willie throw a, Block
we See Brett, keasey we See.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
Ryan clark trying to go get him. Some this is
a total.
Speaker 11 (41:50):
Defensive effort Getting James harrison the end zone and he
was able to. Deliver, Now debo's out of breath right,
here AND i don't glam. Me he ran a long, way,
Man but you got to, Understand Bruce arens always told
us he was a listed. Guys if we're able to
score before, halftime we got a good shot at winning that. Game,
well we didn't do that as an. Office so the
defense picked us. Up And James haverin using this And
James harrison using his instinct getting that pick Off Kurt
(42:13):
warner and taking the yard was. HUGE i was on
the sideline And i'm, screaming And i'm tapping my right,
Guard Darnelle, stapleton and we're going, crazy and at the
same time we're, like, listen, man now we're in. This
and by the, way even though San Antonio holmes scored
that touchdown at the end to win the, game If
James harrison doesn't score that touchdown before, halftime we don't
win That Super. Bowl So James harrison had one of
(42:33):
the most iconic plays in all Of Super bowl history
and he deserves.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
It that's my. BROTHER i love.
Speaker 9 (42:37):
Him every TIME i watched the, PLAY i Think Larry
fitzgerald is going to catch, him and he never quite
almost got. It.
Speaker 3 (42:43):
Almost oh, god but you mentioned.
Speaker 9 (42:44):
It so this is, truly really a very very memorable
Classic Super bowl against a really Gutty cardinals team who
did not want to. Lose they're up, there looks like The.
Cardinals oh my, God Kurt winner is gonna. Win for
forty three. Seconds you mentioned the, Play, roethlisberger The. Holmes
you're on the, Field, yeah play take us, through tell us.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
Everything, well we had been in that situation so many.
Speaker 11 (43:04):
Times you got to understand that year we had multiple
comeback wins and just happens to be one of. US
i remember right before we got on the, Field ben is, Like,
hey we know what to. Do let's just go out
and do. It it wasn't no need for no kind
of raw rob. Talking we was able to do. It
one of the special moments for me in this game
is there's a photo Shot Tony tuto San Antonio holmes
bringing it in and about three rows three rows up
(43:26):
in the, stands it's my mother next to my.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
Brother.
Speaker 11 (43:29):
Yeah she she she doesn't see the play because her
face is stuck in The.
Speaker 3 (43:33):
Bible, yes her face the.
Speaker 11 (43:36):
Game she brought The bible to that game and her
face is stuck in The.
Speaker 3 (43:40):
Bible and my brother is screaming it like. This we
got it with touchdown.
Speaker 11 (43:44):
And my mother never looks up until the review because
they had to review. It he was, actually, yeah my
my mom got rest of his sholds probably all the four.
Eleven my brother's like picking up like a puppet and they're,
screaming and it was just probably one of the most
iconic shots, man AND i have it somewhere in the.
HOUSE i don't know where it's. THAT i got a
lot of junking the. House but, nevertheless, man it was.
Speaker 3 (44:05):
Awesome it was. Awesome so you had a touchdown was.
Speaker 11 (44:07):
Great but to see my talking to The Good, lord
well we needed it most was it was.
Speaker 3 (44:11):
Incredible what do you guys think of La, oh that's so.
Speaker 5 (44:13):
Cool first of, ALL i love that she had The
bible with her and that she Was that's something that
my mom would actually do, too like not watch the.
Game there was One Super bowl where she made everyone
leave the house and she said that there would be
No Super bowl on at the house and everyone had
to go somewhere. Else so like, SUPERSTITIONS i.
Speaker 3 (44:30):
Love but your mom seems. Awesome, no it's so it's
so it's just.
Speaker 8 (44:34):
Fitting willie win and watch a highlight Of James harrison's
interception you referred to the steal, away and just listen
To Troy polamalu's. Speech you could just put on that
one clip and watch out how many guys are just
blocking From that's the steal, away you, know and it
never really clicked until you came on the. Show so
Thanks wullie for taking us down memory.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
Lane my fuck, mom
