Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Welcome to you.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Good Morning Football is Thursday, July twenty fourth. I'm Sarah Waal,
joined here in Los Angeles by Manti Tayo. We got
a pair of offensive linemen in New York with Mitch
Morse and Willie Cologne holding it down out that Mitch.
We didn't want to leave you alone today, so we
brought in a friend for you.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
Yeah. They saw me crying off camera and they thought
they'd bring a friend in and they brought a good one.
Has a beef in these chairs?

Speaker 5 (00:34):
Yeah, got some beef in those chairs also, guys, So
we're gonna put some quarterbacks. Oh we go see you
guys are who love to protect I'm gonna protect Sarah.
You're to protect them. Let's go listen.

Speaker 6 (00:43):
Good Morning Football, A good morning.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
It is a Thursday from Los Angeles from New York,
Sarah Mantai. We got Willie Cologne in New York alongside
Mitch Morris. And I don't know about you, Manti, but
I woke up this morning. I don't know if we
can get a tight shot of Mitch right now. I
woke up this morning thinking I wonder where Mitch went
to college.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
That's what I woke up wondering.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Well, a very good question. It's right here, University Missouri.
So I was in the student union with my daughter,
she's five. We're looking around at shirts and she says, Dad,
I think you'd like that shirt, and I said, Sis,
fat chance. There's nothing about the shirt that dad wants.
Then she looked me dead in the eyes and she said, Dad,
you'd look really cute in that shirt. And now I'm

(01:42):
wearing the shirt on TV. So, Sis, this is for you.
I love your girl, and hopefully you're a lot happier.
I talked to her yesterday. She was so pissed off.
I didn't wear shirts.

Speaker 7 (01:50):
Wait where were you? Where were you going with her?

Speaker 4 (01:53):
University of Missouri.

Speaker 7 (01:54):
You guys are talking. She's five years old.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
She's five years I'm just showing her around, showing her around.

Speaker 8 (02:03):
Give a break, bother.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
It's no notre dame.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
I love that you were basically threatened with having to
wear this shirt this morning.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
But you look great. Mitch.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
We're happy to have you again, and it is time
now to get to.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
The lead block. The reigning MVP.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Allen, how about this walking out to practice. He is
certainly a player to watch during Hard Knocks training camp
with the Buffalo Bills, which is prem Mary and August
fifth on HBO, Mac, were you wanting to Christie you?

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Because here it is.

Speaker 9 (02:39):
It truly takes everybody to half team success. It's not
just the leaders that matter. It takes a whole village.
We're gonna do whatever we can to bringing them. Barty
back here to Western New York.

Speaker 7 (03:00):
He guys, ready back there, far away.

Speaker 10 (03:04):
Now that you're inside the building, it's what you do
at the opportunity that matters most.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Josh Allen is superman.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
Right now, I see the best player in the building
wearing number seventeen.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
It's Buffalo versus the world.

Speaker 8 (03:21):
There's just one thing left to do.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
We have to make the city proud.

Speaker 8 (03:26):
This is about hanging a banner.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
We're not done yet.

Speaker 9 (03:37):
Iron Sharpen's irons.

Speaker 7 (03:38):
Good to see the boys out there.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Convenient Bill's Massias showed up.

Speaker 8 (03:44):
The expectations the university.

Speaker 7 (03:46):
That's what motivates and strengthens us.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
You hit it.

Speaker 7 (03:53):
Resilient.

Speaker 11 (03:58):
That is Buffalo to a core.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Baby So good right, yeah, man, Tize sitting next to
me about it, it looks so good. Listen, when you
have played with the quarterback we're about to talk about,
you get to go first here and kick off the conversation,
and that would be you, Mitch, of course, because you
know Josh Allen very well from your time there in Buffalo.

(04:20):
Has he already become the face of the league. He's
coming off an MVP. He's this guy's everywhere and I
know we we know how.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Good he is. But is he now the face of
the league.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
He's definitely in the conversation, I'm still trying to catch
my heart rate back down to the normal. Uh yeah,
because Buffalo is a special place and I think that
encapsulated everything about it. He's the league MVP. You know,
he brought this franchise from you know, turmoil to what

(04:51):
it is today. He's an exceptional football player, electric every
time he steps on the field, it's a celebration of
the game. There's just one caveat, and it's a pretty
valid caveat, is that he's got to be the Chiefs.
And I think it's not a matter of if, but when.
It's an inevitability in my opinion. But until you do that,

(05:13):
you're gonna have your naysayers. Do I personally think he's
a face of league?

Speaker 7 (05:16):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (05:17):
Am I biased? Of course? But if he's not the face,
he's close to it.

Speaker 8 (05:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Bottom line, is definitely worthy of being in a conversation.
That's without a doubt. You talk about mussy TV. He
has the stats. You talk about a quarterback who has
forty plus total touchdowns over the last five years.

Speaker 8 (05:33):
But I chose Baraus this morning. Mantid that.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
There's somebody who I would love to see in that
category as well, and that's Sakuon Barkley, right, And this
is what I'm saying. You talk about, what's the criteria?
Is he a winner? One hundred percent? In twenty thirteen,
you got to stand the Eagles were I think they
were I think they were eleven and six. They handed
the division over to the Cowboys. They got bumped out
of the playoffs by Baker Mayfield in the Bucks. Here

(05:59):
comes Sakero Barkley. Twenty twenty four. The offense gets a
face lift, right. The offense goes to Saqui on this
office line. They win a division, They bring a Lombardi
back home to Philly. You talk about market a Billy,
the no huddle jump against the Jaguars. They put it
in Madden for Christ's sakes, for loves it. I mean
it's it's a household name, one hundred percent. He's like

(06:21):
Barry Sanders, led Damien Thompson, Adrian Peterson. He has all
these intangibles. So when we talk about the face of
the league, how can you not think of Saquon Barkley.
So for me, the stats, jump off, jump off the page.
Rushing for over two thousand yards, he would have broke
the single singular a single season Russian record if he wouldn't,
if he wouldn't to opt out Week fifteen against the Giants.

Speaker 8 (06:43):
So in my.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Eyes, yes, Josh Allen is mussy TV big time quarterback,
plays for a big market, I think in my eyes
in Buffalo.

Speaker 8 (06:51):
But so does Saquon Barkley.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
So when you talk about the new face of the league,
how can you not mention Saquon Barkley.

Speaker 8 (06:57):
He's my candidate.

Speaker 5 (06:58):
Really, I love that, you know, Sakwon Barkley is one
of the very few guys that by the first name alone,
you know exactly who you're talking about. So we're talking
about this face of the NFL thing, the guy that
I'm going to mention he's one of those you might
have to mention his last name. But I'm going to
bring both of our points together. Willie, you mentioned Saquon
being a winner, and Mitch you referenced the Bills, And

(07:21):
there's a team that they keep coming across in the playoffs,
and that's the Chiefs. The face of the NFL should
be and is Patrick Mahomes. It's hard to discredit Patrick
Mahomes and what he's accomplished in his.

Speaker 7 (07:32):
Career so far.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
Five five guys, five super Bowl appearances, he's won three
of them. All three of those super Bowl appearances, he's
gotten the MVP. He's a two time NFL MVP and
his AP Offensive Player of the Year alone, So just
those accolades alone, I think he separates himself there.

Speaker 7 (07:50):
I do love Josh Allen. I'm a big fan of Josh.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Allen, not only how he plays on the football field,
but everything that he represents from all the way to
high school emailing coaches please just take a chance on me,
his career in college and just his self belief in himself.
I'm a big fan of Josh Allen. However, with the
criteria that all three of us just.

Speaker 7 (08:10):
Put in put forth today a winner.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
Josh Allen struggles against the Chiefs, And I'm not even
going to say Josh Allen, I'm going to say the
Bills struggle against the Chiefs. I gotta give it to
Patrick Mahomes base on those facts.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
You know what it is is as I was listening
to Willy go into Mitchigo, it's that Manti. I think
people just always want something different.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Right it is.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
I would agree with you it is Patrick Mahomes because
when did it not become Patrick Mahomes? But after a
while there's that fatigue factor, right, And so I think
that's you know what you're talking about is people are
just like, well, I want something different.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
And Willy goes Saque. You're like yeah, Saque, and you're like.

Speaker 7 (08:44):
Yeah, Josh.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
But like Patrick Mahomes is the guy. It's just that
he's been the guy now. It feels like for such
a while people are always looking to like, Okay, well
let's do something different here. We're obviously going to get
a lot of Josh Allen on hard knocks. But here's
the thing, you guys know this, every time there's a
hard knock, somebody emerges not necessarily a star, somebody that's funny,
somebody that we didn't know about, somebody that's the comedic relief.

(09:07):
What other bill are you excited to see on the show?

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Match?

Speaker 4 (09:10):
I'm going to go with a friend of the show,
Dion Dawkins. You know, there's so many words in the
English language you could use to describe beyond Dawkins, A
charismatic moxie, all this stuff. His play speaks for himself.
Four time Pro bowler, one of the consistently one of
the best offensive linemen in the NFL. But off the field,
he's calculated. And when I say calculated, that I usually

(09:32):
has a negative connotation. I don't mean that negatively in
any way. He is all about pushing the game forward,
pushing himself forward in regards to understanding what sells, which
is good football, but also setting himself up and his
family for the future. And he's going to do that
by showing his exemplary personality. And it's going to be

(09:53):
a treat to see my friend show because he'll be
in every show, and he will be in every minute
that he possibly can be on there, he will be
on there.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Yeah, for me, it's Joey Bosa, I don't know if
have the tweet, if we can.

Speaker 8 (10:05):
Throw that out there.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
He put out a tweet that I think exemplifies where
he's at from a mood standpoint. Here he goes, I
hung out more with teammates and Buffalo in the six
weeks I was there than probably in my entire career.
We hear a lot about the bond that exists between
players and Buffalo and how it different in most places.
Both are saying that entering the tenth scene season is

(10:27):
eye opening. Bottom line, the man is having fun, right
and the brotherhood brees a winning coach. For him to
put out this tweet, lest we know two things. One,
he wasn't having fun and previous at his previous employment,
and valid he dealt with some injury issues. But now
he's walking into a coach that's about winning. He's walking
into a city that loves the Buffalo Bills, and now
he has a group of brothers that care about football.

(10:50):
And when you care about football, it becomes infectious. And
so an infectious culture brees winning, brees a brotherhood, and
it allows the ballplayer to flat out find that inner
child in Joey Bosa is a tyrant on the ads.
But now he's in the city amongst a band of
brothers who care about one thing, winning football games to
bring it home at Lombardi. So I expect Joey Bosha

(11:10):
to be mussy TV and I'm excited to see what
comes out of his mouth on Hard Knock.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
Very Well said yeah, Willie, and I hope that for
Joey his musky TV during the games as well.

Speaker 7 (11:20):
I'm a big fan of Joey.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
We drafted him to the San Diego Chargers in twenty fifteen,
that draft twenty sixteen, and I was a teammate of
his for a year and what a talent he is.
So I'm hoping that he has that resurgence with the Bills. However,
on this Hard Knocks, I need some personality and I
can't think of anybody else other than Keon Coleman. When
I know Coleman had a really good college career. But

(11:43):
the first time I heard about Keon Coleman was his
interview during the combine where they asked about him englfing
and his skills and he said.

Speaker 7 (11:50):
Man, I ain't Tiger Woods.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
I'm Tiger wish you could like when you say those
types of things like, that's the type of guy I
want to listen to. That's the type of entertainment I
want alongside all.

Speaker 7 (11:59):
Of the football plays.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
And then his yellow Macy's jacket showing up to his
and people asking, well, we got that that jacker from me?
He's like, oh, it's on sale that Macy's. Like, that's
the type of guy that I like. And I don't
know if you guys heard about his story about why
he got his number. But his brother, if you don't know,
key On Coleman is number zero and he was number
four in college. But his brother asked him. He was like, well,

(12:21):
he asked his brother what number should I be in
His brother said, you should be number zero. He's like why,
He's like, because nobody can guard you. So I like
Keyon Coleman. I can't wait to see him not only
on the field, but Sarah and hard Knocks.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Bill's fans would love to see on the field. James
Cook just racking up the yards for more on his
contract situation.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
We're talk on the bills.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
We want to bring in Tom Pella, Sero Insiders back
in full swing.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Tom with us now.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
James Cook wants to be compensated with a new deal.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
What's the latest there.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Tom Well Sarah.

Speaker 12 (12:50):
James Cook did report to training him not that he
had much of a choice. One of the collective bargain
greenm and he had to show up on time in
order to get a credited season toward unrestricted free agency.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
But Cook is not just there.

Speaker 12 (13:01):
He was a full participant in practice on Wednesday. As
these sides get seid to re engage once again on
the possibility of a contract extension now GM Brandon Bean
been abundantly clear on Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
What he would like to see happen.

Speaker 12 (13:16):
He called Cook a competitive dude, a stud, a great teammate.
He said, quote, I'm hopeful when we're sitting here in
next year's training camp that James Cook is out there.
We're practicing and so representing the Red, White and Blue.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
The issue here is what is.

Speaker 12 (13:29):
The fair market number for James Cook. He has publicly
said he wants to be paid fifteen million dollars per year.
There's only three running backs in that category. It's Saquon,
It's Christian McCaffrey, and it's Dereck Henry. Can the sides
find a win win for both sides. We'll see there's
still a few days here before the pads come on,
which is often an important checkpoint in these processes. As

(13:51):
for the Bengals holdout defensive endit Trey Henderson.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
He is an old school holdout.

Speaker 12 (13:55):
He is not there at all after contract talks broke
down on Monday over guaranteed money. The Bengals history in
general is they do not care anything beyond year one,
essentially just the signing bonus. But they have bent that
structure in recent years for Joe Burrow and for Jamar Chase.
There's optimism expressed on Monday five Bengals breast that they

(14:17):
were going to be able to get something done. But
my understanding is when they made a new offer to
Trey Hendrickson, it once again included no future guaranteed money.
So Trey Henderson is back in Florida. It is not
clear when or even if Trey Anderson will rejoin the team.
Bengals made a procedural move on Wednesday placing him on
the reserve did not report list. He can be activated

(14:38):
from that at any time by you guessed it reporting
to training camp. It just gives them some roster flexibility,
an extra spot while they continue to wait some type
of a resolution. I would just tell you, Sarah, at
this point does not sound like there is any movement
toward a potential deal for Trey Henderson at a time
that I am sure some of those same teams that

(14:58):
were calling the Bengals back before the draft about a
trade might be thinking about picking up the phone once again.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
The Giants are getting practiced underway with a new quarterback
under center, Russell Wilson taking the field yesterday with his
new team including second year wide receiver Eliite Neighbors. The
energy was hyper fans, it was hyper players, and it
was hyper rookie running back vote Kim Scataboo. That's how

(15:35):
Kyle walks in here every morning. The New York Giants
are going to be the ones to get things started
for us in a game of big deal or no
big deal.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
So we're going to set up a story.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
The guys are going to tell me if you think
it's a big deal or not. First up, Brian Dable
spoke with the media and announced their QB one.

Speaker 10 (15:52):
Like I said, these guys will be out here competing,
but Russell's are starting. Russell's had a really good spring.
The other quarterbacks have as well.

Speaker 8 (15:58):
I like that room.

Speaker 10 (15:59):
I like the direction of the room is headed. But
for all young players, you know, I know asked about Jackson,
but it's really every young player. Our goal is to
develop those guys and when they're called upon.

Speaker 8 (16:09):
Be ready to go.

Speaker 11 (16:10):
I'm always just focused on being the best version of
me every day, you know. For me, you know, my
mentality is always to be the best.

Speaker 7 (16:15):
In the world.

Speaker 11 (16:16):
You know, I don't know anything else other than that.
Just trying to having that mentality and help helping our
football team win. You know, I think that's the big
thing that I'm really highly focused on, is elevating our practice,
elevating our play, elevating our mentality, and having a championship
mentality daily.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Guys, Is it.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
A big deal that Russell Wilson was named the Giant
starter already?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Willy kick this off.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Yeah, it's a big deal because it shows Giants fans
that they're not taking a scramble right, that they're going
in the right direction, and that they're going to allow
the young guy Jackson dark to kind of sit and
watch for leadership. You gotta understand the Giants for three
and fourteen last year, and they lacked leadership. They lack
the quarterback. They lacked the competent quarterback. And so what
this does for a defense, it says, hey, man, if
we happen to give up a Touchdowre, we have a

(17:00):
guy that can keep us in the game of put
one on the board. Another aspect to it is that
we have a quarterback that can neutraliza field and be
a game manager who is a willing leader.

Speaker 8 (17:09):
Right. And so I love this direction.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
I love getting rid of this distraction going into training camp,
and it allows this team to finally move forward with
a guy who they know has approven resume. Your tape
is your best resume as a football and if you
watch Russell Wilson last year, you know you can still
throw the football, you know you can still lead a team,
and you know you can still play at a competent level.
So I'm happy for the Giants that they got a guy.

(17:32):
Now they gotta go win some football games with a
good defense.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
To Willie's point, I think it's a testament to Brian
day Ball for getting this question out of the way.
You have Russell Wilson, proven veteran in this league, a
good ball player, quirky, sure, a little strange, absolutely but
a guy who I think is great at mentoring. Right,
you have Jackson Darty. Please do not put Jackson Dart
on the field before he needs to be To answer

(17:58):
the question. I think it's a big deal because it's
the right move. Give Jackson Dart as much time as
possible behind a proven veteran like Russell Wilson.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
Yeah, guys, you guys were in here two days ago.
But two days ago we had Norman Chad And when
I heard the reason why I'm bringing up Norman Chad
is he's a poker commentator and we had him as
a guest. The reason why I'm bringing him up is
when I heard Brian da Ball say that, I was like, man,
that's a really good poker face. He has a really
good poker face on him, and it seems like he's
trying to not play his hand too early. So I'm

(18:29):
going to take this thing and make create a narrative
that relates to poker.

Speaker 7 (18:33):
So you signed Russell Wilson.

Speaker 5 (18:34):
Now, Russell Wilson is a Super Bowl winning quarterback, but
he's not the same old Russell Wilson. He's a Russell
Wilson that's a little older. He's not as strong, but
Brian da Ball knows this. But what I think Brian
Daball is trying to do with this decision is he's
just hoping that Russell Wilson can get them to the
turn of the season.

Speaker 7 (18:52):
The turn and Poker is a fourth card.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
He's just hoping that Russ get me to the fourth
quarter of this season, then I can play my wild card.
His wild card is Jackson Dark. Now I'm not a player,
but I just learned this, Yes today, I guess a
wild card is something that that's very dangerous in the
right person's hands. Brian Daboll has that wild card in
his hands. However, if played wrong, if played too early,

(19:17):
you can bust. So I'm thinking that when I'm looking
at this Giants, I'm you got to play your hand right,
and I think Brian Daball is doing that.

Speaker 7 (19:25):
So that's why I.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
Think this message and this decision is a big deal.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Sarah, you know who this is a big deal for
it when this came out, or say I was thinking
of this. It's a big deal for Mitch Morse because,
as we learned on the show yesterday with Mitch, nobody
loves the when it comes to a quarterback competition in camp,
media being out there being like two picks for this
guy in practice, three picks for this guy in Nobody
loves the stat keeping in practice in the middle of

(19:53):
July than Mitch.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
So, Mitch, they don't have to do that. The reporters
in New York.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
I mean, they're going to watch what the other guys
are going to do, but they're not going to have
to sit there and dissect every single pass. So I
know you love that about training camp.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Well, they gave me a list of words not to
use on air, and how I feel about those reporters
and doing that, I could use every single Yes, it
drives me nuts. Let the guys figure it out on
the practice field and then use those comments, interceptions, throwing,

(20:26):
whatever when it really matters regular season and postseason games.
Please please God.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
I can't wait.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
I can't wait till I'm out at Titans practice on
Saturday and I'm like, well, this is what happened at practice,
and I'm like, Mitch is gonna hate me?

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Okay, Russell's former I.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
Know I don't hate you.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
I don't do it, but in fairness, I don't do that.
I'm always like, this doesn't even count what are we doing?
Russell's former receiver, George Pickens, has a new home in Dallas.
Pickens says that he is not going to act like
a princess on the field. Instead, he compared he and
Ceedee Lamb to a very iconic duo.

Speaker 13 (21:02):
Oh yeah, for sure, just different type of styles of play,
Like a lot of people over the years got different
type of styles of play. But CD's a certain type
of guy and then I'm a certain type of guy.
So when you mesh that together, it's like Mario bros.
You see what I mean. So like, we definitely could
do something special.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Big deal?

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Are no big deal that Pickens compared he and CD
to Mario and Luigi without having played any snaps in
a game yet there WILLI.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Yeah, it's a big deal because I think it's high
host for Cowboy fans. You talk about Cede Lamb being
in a slot, being that intermediate threat.

Speaker 8 (21:36):
You know what he can do with the football in
his hands.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
Yards have to catch and now you have a deep
thread and George Pickens, you know, he could blow the
top off of defense. But overall, man, you know they're
expecting this duel to have over a thousand yards E Right.
The last duel to do that in the Cowboys uniform
was a Marik Cooper and Michael Gallup, even Terrell Owens, right,
and Terry Green and Terry Glynn. So they're looking to

(21:59):
get that type of production out of out of these two. Now,
for CD Lamb, it's just about being healthy, remaining helping
stay in freshed. But George Pickens is can you produce
and can he up his maturities?

Speaker 8 (22:10):
Right?

Speaker 1 (22:10):
There was a lot of talks off the field about
how he was a little bit of pride baby and
it was a little bit of a distraction for that team.
Can he change that card and land in Dallas and
be a productive guy that they could depend on because
Dak's going to need it. He's a third two year
old quarterback coming off a hamstring injury. He's going to
need guys that can show up each and every Sunday
and be that guy, be him if he as a
young kid, say.

Speaker 8 (22:30):
So, I'm excited to see these two young guys go.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
I don't know if it's a big deal or not
a big deal. It's a strange deal, but let's talk
about manifestation. They're going to manifest these two guys into
being a one to two punch for the Dallas Cowboys,
and as Willie attested to, both of these guys individually
have been proven to be substantial at contributors on the field.
Can we see George Pickens make that step in growth

(22:55):
like WILLI had talked about. I think it'll be interesting.
It's a very hip and cool reference. It kind of
went over my head, but I understand what they're going for,
and I'll be eating my words when these guys are
both teetering over a thousand yards or mid season.

Speaker 5 (23:11):
Oh Mitch, you said it went over your head. Let
me try to help you understand. I think it's a
big deal. And the reason why I think it's a
big deal is, for the most part, it's accurate. You
think about Mario and Luigi, they're different. Luigi's a little
bit taller. You look at George Pickens, He's an inch
taller than CD Lamb. Luigi is also the more emotional
one of the brothers, but Mario is more of the
stoic where Cede Lamb is more stoic.

Speaker 7 (23:32):
He seems more chill.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
But the thing that I think is a little inaccurate
is and the thing that I really the reason why
I think this is a big deal is Luigi isn't
as known as Mario. It's like Batman and Robbie. You
know a lot about Batman, not a lot about Robin
And my question for George Pickens is are you prepared
to be Luigi? Because the Dallas Cowboys and CD Lamb,
that's Cedee Lamb's team. Both of these guys have never

(23:55):
been on a team where they have to be wide
receiver too. And we saw last year throughout the career
of George Pickens what happens when he doesn't get the catches,
when he doesn't get that tension, when he's not the
one catching the touchdown passes, he becomes Luigi. He gets
really emotional and he gets distraught. So how is that
going to look like for the Dallas Cowboys when you

(24:15):
have somebody like CD Lamb where you know the ball
is going to them and you're George Pickens and they
may not go to you all the time.

Speaker 7 (24:21):
So that is something that I'm looking at.

Speaker 5 (24:23):
I think it's a big deal in a lot of
right ways, and it's also a big deal in ways
that we'll just have to wait and see. So Mario
and Luigi Cedee Lamb and George Pickens.

Speaker 7 (24:33):
I think it's pretty accurate.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Yeah, can you keep him happy?

Speaker 3 (24:36):
He said he's not going to be a princess on
the field, but again things changed.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
It depends on wins.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
If you're winning, winning, saulves so much so you're right
Manti to see.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
How that shakes out.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
Obviously, the Cowboys know the person and the player that
they're getting there, and so how they manage that, obviously
is going to be a huge deal.

Speaker 7 (24:56):
That's my team. It's my quarterback. True Breeze is the NFL.

Speaker 8 (25:06):
Oh, that's my brother.

Speaker 7 (25:12):
I love them to death.

Speaker 14 (25:13):
It's my quarterback with a capital fee super Bowl, it's
my quarterback.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
Wait a minute, I got to give a shout outulous
Luca de Cristo for us put that together.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
What an edit there, That was awesome. I love it
so much. We're going to talk about these guys quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
It's setting us up perfectly for a brown of trivia
here this time the answers are going to be a
quarterback that one of the guys here on the show
played with. We got some good names to choose from
Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger, Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes. So, guys,
let's get started. How well do you know your quarterbacks?
Which of these four quarterbacks this is your first question,

(26:01):
defeated Lamar Jackson in his first play off game. And
hold up, hold up your answer on your little quarterback stick.
There we holding them up the same time.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
There we go. Okay, all right, are you ready for
the answer. The answer is Philip River.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
Oh guys, come on, you know your quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
Philip Rivers had just one hundred and sixty yards passing
in the win, as.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
The Chargers defense forced three turn arms, including a Lamar
Jackson interception and a lost fumble.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
That's reduntant. Yeah that.

Speaker 8 (26:44):
Was on a team.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Go ahead, change the answer a team. Okay, here's you comeback.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Which of these four quarterbacks that you guys played for
once completed fifty five passes in a college football game?

Speaker 7 (27:01):
College football game? Oh, passes in college football game. It's
got to be accuracy, guys. Ain't nobody more accurate than
this man? Anybody more accurate than this man.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
We got two paths.

Speaker 7 (27:12):
I don't like that is.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
Just think about when they played Oklahoma and Baker Mas
that's what.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
I was thinking, and Baker was just talking about that
on the Kelsey podcast.

Speaker 7 (27:20):
School.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Okay, we got two Breezes and mahomes and the Breezes
are the winner.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Here, William, we're on the board.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
Breeze fifty five passes through for almost five hundred yards,
and that ninety eight match against Wisconsin, his four interceptions
helped the Badgers escape though with a thirty one twenty
four win against Breezes boiler Makers.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
And if you were curious, Patrick.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
Maholmes only only completed fifty two passes and then twenty
sixteen matchup, that's what got you, Mitch against Baker Mayfield
almost said you were three passes away from having that one.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
Okay, here's your next question.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
Which of these four quarterbacks led the NFL in passing
yards in twenty Eighteenki.

Speaker 7 (28:11):
Yeah, I think that's that's speaks.

Speaker 8 (28:13):
Out for it.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
So we got two pads and a breeze.

Speaker 7 (28:16):
I got a brisky.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
I was there when he I was there when he
passed five thousand yards.

Speaker 7 (28:20):
Okay, see here we go.

Speaker 8 (28:21):
You on the field.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
You guys are all wrong, all what?

Speaker 8 (28:25):
No? The answer?

Speaker 3 (28:27):
No answer is Ben Roethlisberger.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
Yeah, dude, right, I gotta tell you can I urged
my answer after you said it.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
No, despite throwing for more than five thousand yards in
winning NFL MVP, that your Patrick Mahomes came up second
in passing behind thirty six year old Ben Roethlessberger in
twenty that's eighteen.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
A trick question. Somebody dug that out.

Speaker 4 (28:50):
That's a good one.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
That was a good one. Whoever came up with that one?

Speaker 5 (28:52):
Yeahrew broke records in twenty eighteen.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
Yep, I don't, I don't care anymore answer.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
The answer was not true. Mitch, do you have any
are you on the board yet?

Speaker 7 (29:00):
Mat I'm hurt by that.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
We got the Mitch one here here he asked that question,
and you.

Speaker 8 (29:04):
Know by that.

Speaker 7 (29:06):
I'm hurt by that.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
Okay, here we go.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
Which of these four quarterbacks? And if you know your guys,
and this is your guy, I'm guessing you would know this.
Which of these four quarterbacks had Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Junior,
and Billy Joel on his pregame day list?

Speaker 5 (29:23):
I do know this, Okay, Okay, hold on, Mitch, hold on,
Kyle Brant, go to me for not for sounding not
so confident. Don't sound so confident and reveal the answer.

Speaker 8 (29:34):
Bro, just really, I'm gonna jump on the train.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
I'm gonna get you know what you did?

Speaker 3 (29:39):
I noticed for sure pressured Willie because because Mitch was
so commid.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
That's what you did. Mitch. You know you don't solo
win this now because you gave it away. It is
Josh Allen.

Speaker 7 (29:48):
Would have lost his mind.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Mitch, you were.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
On the board, NBC shared on Sunday Night Football in
twenty twenty one.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
The pre game list by Frank Sinatra. Yeah is what
he listens to before every.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
Game, the joker by saying Davis.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
The same year, Mitch I was told I can pull
up a scoreboard.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
We're keeping score on the US like this. You've got
to keep scoring that. It's right there.

Speaker 7 (30:07):
I think I got three guys, Mitch.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
Tie this thing up.

Speaker 8 (30:10):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
Here we go.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
You do You're not even that far behind, Mitch. Let's go.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Well yeah, yeah, okay, which of these four quarterbacks has
never thrown for five hundred yards in an NFL game?

Speaker 7 (30:23):
M thrown for five hundred.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
Oh.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
I haven't picked this guy yet, So I'm gonna go
with my dog. He hasn't been an answer.

Speaker 8 (30:36):
Trying to think.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
I know, that's the thing.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
We have the answer, you think, and then you have
to think that, like Chris McClain.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
Yeah, I don't as much as I'm gonna go. Yeah,
I actually have to say the same. I don't know
if he's starting for five hundred yet.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
Yeah, guys, every single one of you is wrong.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
What the answer? So we're all wrong, Mitch considered to win?

Speaker 3 (31:01):
The answer is Patrick Mahomes Again, these producers really tricky today, exactly.

Speaker 8 (31:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
I would have definitely gotten that rung.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
He came where they sent that list for me not
to say, yeah, all the words.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Mitch, don't say.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
It came up just short of five hundred yards. And
the fifty four to fifty one loss to the Rams
on Monday Night Football in twenty eighteen.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
Six touchdown passes in that game tied for.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
The most in a loss all time. Hasn't hit that
five hundred yard mark. Everyone's wrong, and Mitch, you're still.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
In this thing.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
Yeah, Mitch is against Everybody's always sneaky.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
This is always sneaky. Okay, gotta go start pulling away.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
Which of these four quarterbacks has a winning record against
Tom Brady?

Speaker 4 (31:51):
Yeah, I kind of come on, I don't know.

Speaker 8 (31:58):
This was tough.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
Yeah, I kind of feel like I kind of just
somebody who I kind of feel.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Like there's a you're trying to sitting next to you.
It's Mitch. Mitch's got a Drew by.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
I have no yeah, short mitching that at that point,
I know Frank Sinatra for well, that's about it.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
You guys have the time, the little time clock that's
trying to answer, Okay.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
What do we got. We got all.

Speaker 7 (32:24):
Drews, all Drew. We're all Drew, all on the boat together, guys.

Speaker 5 (32:28):
You guys are all yeah, yeah, give me that.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
Give me that. The unsure guy, the first one to
raise it.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Lets Drew finished his career five and three against Tom Brady.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
The rest of the quarterbacks that combined six and twenty
four at that market, manti and Mitch.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
By the way, you guys are gonna love this one.
Mantai and Mitch a combined two and twelve in games
against TB twelve.

Speaker 7 (32:53):
Yeah, I got to pick on it, so I don't care.

Speaker 5 (32:56):
I got to pick the first first reception again Tom.
I'll take that TV twelve next one.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
I did live a lot of Tom. Yeah that's Mitch.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
Let me give you some advice here. You are down
by one. You can't pick whatever. Man tie you got
to tie this up.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
You know what I mean? This is this is the question.

Speaker 5 (33:13):
Last question is This is the last questions work two
worth two.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
This is a strategy situation here for you, Mitch. Which
of these four quarterbacks? Which of these four quarterbacks? We're
gonna let Mitch go last, actually let the other two
put their answer them. Which of these four quarterbacks never
had a rushing touchdown in his NFL playoff career? Who
never rushed for a touchdown? Drew, Philip, Benn Patrick.

Speaker 7 (33:36):
Go, Billy Chi steak. I'm going with you.

Speaker 4 (33:40):
I want I see eight.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
I hate it here, Ah, I know bid definitely as.

Speaker 7 (33:53):
Wall.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
So I want to pick that.

Speaker 8 (33:55):
I'm gonna go I'm gonna gout.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
Mitch.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
You do you you know what, if you got the
right answer and you forgive got the right answer, you
do it.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
No, I have to although I think it's that going
to get this, I.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
Guess guys, drum roll please, because Mitch just tied this
thing up.

Speaker 7 (34:14):
We're two points. That was the worth two points.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Give it to Mitch.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Comes from behind breathe twenty five career age, twenty years,
but none came in the playoffs. He had just fifty
total rushing yards in his eighteen career playoff games.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
About Mitch for the win.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
It's twenty twenty five. We're all winners. Everyone gets a participation.
Have a How did Mitch get four because it.

Speaker 8 (34:42):
Was worth two?

Speaker 2 (34:43):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
It was a huge contraginations Mitch.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
Yeah, I feel like, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 7 (34:50):
I don't feel like I want to thank you though,
Wait till there's got to be a winner. Bro, we
can't tie. It's a winner. We said that was for two.

Speaker 1 (34:57):
Yeah, take to take the trophy now, Yeah, give the
troll take.

Speaker 4 (35:03):
Because I'm SI next to this guy. The banter is
going to be all.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Well, I'm gonna get heat for it because my wife's
the Saints fans.

Speaker 8 (35:09):
That's really gonna it's really gonna drag me for that.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
Yeah, well, man, Melisha and Drew Brees, We've got much
more GMFB coming up.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
You guys, Hey, you know what I think we take
away with miss You guys played with some really good quarterbacks.

Speaker 8 (35:21):
Oh yeah, you.

Speaker 7 (35:22):
Guys, Well yeah, yeah, lucky we're the actual winners.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
You got to pick on Tom Brady.

Speaker 7 (35:27):
Yeah, first career pick. Where's the ball? It's on the
Highway five somewhere. I don't know where it was.

Speaker 5 (35:36):
The trunk of my car went open, the ball fell out.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 7 (35:39):
I'm not kidding. I wish I was
