All Hands and feet inside the Cards. Thursday, October thirty
is Halloween Eve. Shamier at all here in Los Angeles
as always a Mansi Teo and Mike Garatfollo and Kyle
Brant are back together in New York. Do you guys
ever play the prank on your friends as a kid,
where you like shake up the soda can and then
hand it to them. That's how I feel about Kyle
(00:32):
and Mike g being back together. They haven't sat next
to week till they haven't been on the show in
a week. They probably just like have so many takes
about football that like, here we go.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Yeah, I'm gonna put mentos in his diet coke. It's
going to be crazy. We're gonna get going. We got
a game tonight. We have a million games this weekend.
We got all kinds of fun stuff talking about Mike.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
You're ready to roll toilet paper and eggs.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
Yay, it's the season. Good Morning Football at Roll.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Welcome to Good Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper that's right,
GMFP get in here on a Thursday, Jamie Manti, Mike
g and Kyle Kyle. Last week it was Jamie Lee Curtis.
What's a classic Hollywood T shirt shirt you have on today?
Speaker 1 (01:24):
The same thing, same movie, way back to John Carpenter's Halloween.
It's it is the night before Halloween. It's the thirtieth
right now, right.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yeah, and this is the night that he comes home.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
He may be talking about Lamar Jackson finally coming back
to play football.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
For the love of God, he's back. I'm so excited tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Yeah, we're going to.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
Talk about it.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Dolphins Ravens is happening. And there's always that like feel
good hero that's inside those Halloween houses where it's like
I will protect everybody, and Aiden Hudginson feels like that
character at times. Let's bring in Ian Rapaport this morning,
our NFL Network insider with us. The Lions locked down
one of their cornerstone pieces on defense wrap sheet.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
I just said his name.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
What's the latest out of Detroit?
Speaker 6 (02:04):
Hutchinson got his long awaited blockbuster contract extension yesterday. A
lot of people thought this would happen before the season
was not to be Instead, he went out. He showed everyone,
including Lions brass, that he was exactly the same as
he was pre significant injury.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
Has been a sack.
Speaker 6 (02:20):
Master for the Lions this year, as he always is,
and yesterday officially got paid. It is a four year,
one hundred and eighty million dollar contracts extension, forty five
million dollars per year new money, already under contract for
two years, an now under contract for six years total
for the Detroit Lions.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
By the way, gets twenty five.
Speaker 6 (02:37):
Million dollars in bonuses over those next two years, so
it gets a little upfront in this deal. One hundred
and forty million, one hundred and forty one million dollars
in total guarantees that he's highest non quarterback guarantee ever.
A huge deal for Hutchinson and with the Lions have
done guys is lock up all of their excellent players
Jamis to Williams at the beginning of the year, Aiden
(02:58):
Hutchinson now Amanra Pennay Sewell, this is what they do,
a model franchise for so many Meanwhile, we also had
a couple of big moves this week, including a trade
from Howie Roseman the Philadelphia Eagles. Yes, the trademarket is
slower than usual. Know that didn't stop Howie from pulling
a trade. It is Michael Carter, the second slock corner
(03:19):
from the New York Jets.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
He goes from the Jets.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
To the Eagles.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
John I Metchi the third going back from the Eagles
to the Jets. Puts a pickswap and having Joe Douglas,
the former Jets DM in the building for the Eagles,
helped make this deal happen.
Speaker 5 (03:32):
And you guys mentioned it.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
He is back.
Speaker 6 (03:35):
Lamar Jackson the starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens. It's
been a while, it's been three weeks, maybe a week
later than most people imagine, but Lamar Jackson officially off
the injury report and good to go. Despite that hamstring injury.
It has been a full week of practice, no practice. Shenanigans.
Lamar and the Ravens are back tonight.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Shenanigans. We like the good kind, but not the kind
that makes teams wig worry about if they got the
name right or the dedication right of how we practiced.
Understand the officials starting position for Lamar Jackson raps sheet,
Thank you so much. The Ravens are getting much needed
return of their quarterback. Takes on to a tongue of
Ailoa and the Dolphins, who had a great game against
the Falcons last week. So let's talk quarterbacks, shall we?
(04:18):
Starting with Lamar Kyle Brandt. We're gonna hear from him
first and then we want to have it a little chat.
Speaker 7 (04:23):
Coach pretty much touched on that talking about with us
in our team meeting. You know, each and every game
gonna be like a win a go home game. You know,
we started off first season ever started off like this low.
So we're gonna have to just do it out right now.
Each and every week.
Speaker 8 (04:40):
It's really about who's more dialed, if you will, with
the game plan, with the scheme, who's been communicating, especially
throughout these short weeks. Right, the short weeks make it
tough to where if you're not on it, you're gonna
get exposed on Thursdays.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Well, let's see who who has exposed tonight by the
opposing team's defense Ravens Dolphins.
Speaker 9 (05:02):
Kyle.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Now, let's talk about the return of Look Jackson.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Well, yeah, I mean, if this game is two and
five versus two and six, why am I so excited?
And I think it's because, oh my god, Lamar's finally back.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
Thank god.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Ian just said that he's missed three games, and I
know that's technically correct, So why does it feel like
it's been fifty games? Can we see some Lamar highlights?
This is one of the most important players in our league.
H's the most entertaining player in the league. Maybe, And
let's be honest, I've got some games over the last
two weeks that have not necessarily been terribly entertaining. We
need number eight back out there, and we need it
(05:36):
as spectators, but the Ravens also needed in the sense
that we may be saying bye bye if they don't
win this game tonight, and I mean really really see
it later, Go leave town, go fishing whatever you see.
The two and five, well, Lamar was around for.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
A lot of that.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
It's not like, oh, he was out for the season
and they've just been trading water and waiting for their superstar.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
No, Lamar was.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
They were one and three with Lamar as a starter,
So there's all kinds of issues that had haunted them
before they maybe got injured. But there's also this sense
if there was one guy in the league who come
back and it's just.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
Whoosh, and they go on a run.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
You ever watched this? You ever watched this thing? This
time he was called Room on the Broom. It's this cartoon.
It's on Netflix and Amazon. It's very charming. And Jillian
Anderson plays this witch and she puts all these friends
on a broom and the narrator, who Simon Pegg, keeps
going whoosh, and the broom just takes off and flies
up into the air. Room on the Broom, read it,
back me up on this. That's what Lamar Jackson could do.
(06:33):
There is room on the broom for all his teammates
to just take off and start. Listen if you want
to be check the schedule guy. I see Brown's logos
in the future, I see Jets' logos, I see Vikings logos,
and I see if there's one guy in the league
who could really put a team on his shoulders and
make a dramatic comeback down the stretch, it's Joe Burrow.
But if there's two, it's Lamar Jackson. He is back.
(06:53):
We need him, we want him. I am so excited
that he's here. And honestly, the Dolphins are two and six.
It's been a dreadful season, but even last week they
even put on a show into a played really well.
So Twoe five, two and six. I'm not employed by Amazon.
I'm not supposed to say this, and I'll get the
Amazon in a second. I have some takes for them.
But I can't wait to watch this game tonight.
Speaker 10 (07:13):
I know you're excited, KP, I know you're excited about Lamar.
We're all excited about Lamar. This is what I'm going
to be looking for in tonight's game. Last week when
they played the Bears the Ravens, that defense really came into.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Form for me.
Speaker 10 (07:24):
I saw a defense that I'm used to seeing for
the Ravens and I'm gonna go back and Mike g
knows this more than I do. But that trade that
the Ravens made with the Chargers, there's a lot of
talks about o'daffe Olway going over there not a lot
to talk about what the Ravens received for that.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
They received the Lohi Gilman.
Speaker 10 (07:40):
Now Olohi Gilman is not only a cerebroll, smart, intellectual,
hard hitting safety, but that gave the Ravens the ability
to use Kyle Hamilton the way that Derwin James is
used on the Chargers.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
How many times do we see Derwin James do this?
Speaker 10 (07:53):
How many times do we see him come to the
line of scrimmage and pick offensive linemen and not only
get sacks, but open up sacks for his teammates, Like
we saw this so many different times. Well, last week
during the Bears game, I'm watching the game and I
see Kyle Hamilton do this. I see Cayl Hamilton do
this against the Bears a line and cause chaos for
them all. Lie watch his play, same exact situation. Kyle
(08:17):
Hamilton is close to the line of scrimmage and he
picks linemen. So signing a Lahie Gilman allows the Ravens
to use their best player on defense the way that
the Charges used Derwin James, and it was a different
defense for the Ravens. That's what I'm going to be
looking at this game, is can Kyle Hamilton being close
to the line of scrimmage, he's allowed to be able
to communicate with the front do different things, but he's
(08:39):
able to be that Swiss Army knife for the for
the Ravens defense, They're going to need him because what
the Dolphins were able to do to Jamie's point earlier
last week.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
They look great.
Speaker 10 (08:50):
So having that defense come back to altong of our
law and the offense. That's what I'm gonna be keying on.
Mike g I am so.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Glad to control room.
Speaker 11 (08:56):
Bring that play back. I want to see that play
which Kyle Hamilton. Hamilton, I don know why, because it
was a great athletic play.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
That's all right, take you time, it's cool. I'm gonna
talk for a while here. It was a great athletic.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
We're in my ear.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
I'm like, oh, it's gonna take a while. He gets
had it up in like five.
Speaker 11 (09:13):
That is a while for them, tho, they're usually pretty
bick It's a great athletic player. It's also what it's
also great design, great design by the defensive coaching staff,
great design by Zach Orr. On the other side of
the ball, I mean, well, they've been catching heat for
a while the defensive side of the ball. On the
other side of the ball, Todd Munkin as the offensive court.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
He's catching the heat too.
Speaker 11 (09:35):
How can you possibly sit there and question the play
calling on both sides? Have you seen the injury report
that both of these gentlemen have been having to deal with.
And guess what when it comes to Monkin, only one player.
I can read you a long list, but only one
player really matters.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
And that is Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 11 (09:54):
That's why Kyle's so excited, That's why Todd Munkin so excited.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
That's why everything buddy in Baltimore is excited. Lamar Jackson
is back.
Speaker 11 (10:02):
Guess what that's gonna do to the play calling?
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Got to make it look a lot better, isn't it.
You know, I was just covering the Eagles the other day.
Speaker 11 (10:08):
Kevin Patula, the offensive coordinator down there in Philadelpia, he
was getting crushed early in the season, just when they
were winning with her Ford always getting crushed. They went
two in a row, and all of a sudden he's
getting praised and laud and the players are.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Like, it was us. We were off by just a
hair here and there.
Speaker 11 (10:22):
Jordan Myolota, Tomarcus Hayes, who wrote a story for the
Philadelphia in quirre on Patula, had a great He said,
Kevin Patula was dying on the cross for us.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Yes, it's so easy to sit in your couch and
go that was a horrible play call. Guess what makes
it better.
Speaker 11 (10:36):
All these guys coming back, man Ti, including Lamar.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
Jackson my gas.
Speaker 10 (10:39):
So funny you were talking about what that does for
the offense, bringing Lamar Jackson back.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
I like to go to BJS.
Speaker 10 (10:45):
With me and my family, Yeah, because we like to
get this pazzuki now when what's so pezuki is a
big old cookie cake thing that puts some ice cream
in it. That's what we do on a free time.
But we always go around Happy Hour and and I
thought about it when Mike g made this comment about
what this does to the playbook. So they'll bring us
one little sheet of paper that has a certain selected
(11:08):
menu and you can choose from.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
That, or you could go to the five page menu.
Speaker 10 (11:13):
That you have of the regular BJ's menu. That's what
Todd Munkin has now now that he has Lamar Jackson,
he's not he's not dealing with the happy hour menu.
There's only a select places you can call when you
don't have Lamar Jackson in the game. But now that
you have Lamar, you can go to that five page.
When he's like, what do I want? Do I want
to faia? Do I want to I want to do
I want a pizza? Do I want wings. He has
everything at his.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
Disposal now that his man is back.
Speaker 10 (11:34):
So it's going to be so fun to watch that
the Ravens offense be able to go to the whole
gamut of place.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
I would always pay full price for a cookie on
a skillet with some ice cream on top, That's for sure,
Kyle Brandt. I mean you can't not say something like, oh,
I have some thoughts for Amazon and then just be like, oh,
wait for the next segment, Jamie. No, we demand answers. Now,
what is your beef with the product that we will
see tonight?
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Listen. I wouldn't call it a beef. I'd call it
an observation.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
And I just hyped up two and five versus two
and six for like ninety seconds. So I have a
little credibility to do this, and I'm excited to see
this game. This has come up before with Amazon, who
we love the Thursday night games, and we watched them all,
we cover them all.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
We've been doing this a few years now.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
There's one thing that bothers me, and in terms of
their coverage and their promotion, this image came across my
timeline this week.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
Bring it up. Okay, we have Ravens Dolphins.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
All right, I don't know who that is in the
bottom right corner. All right, hear me out. That is
Derek Henry in the upper left. He's a household name.
He's a huge star. I cover football for a living
twenty four to seven. This is what I do to
feed my family. And I don't know who that player
is in the bottom right, And candidly, I'm looking.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
Over at Mike and he goes, don't look at me.
I don't know who it is.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
All right.
Speaker 5 (12:53):
Mike is a reporter. He his job is to know this.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
If you are trying to bring in maybe fringe NFL
fans who are trying to jump in and they're just
going to go to Amma and saying, oh, I'll click
and watch football, you got to.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
Do a little better. Now.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
I have come since to find out that that is
Devon ah Chen, who is a very good player and
very talented.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Nah, you don't want to put Devon ah Chan's face
up there. It's okay, it's not famous enough. If you
wanted to put him maybe in a uniform where you
can see his jersey number and fantasy players would recognize him.
Speaker 5 (13:26):
Or hear me out now.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
If you don't want to put Tua, who's very famous,
maybe you're off him. If you don't want to put
Mike McDaniel, I remember once you put Bill Belichick's face.
Because the Patrists have any good players. You could put
Jalen Waddle. He just had a very good game last week.
He's very likable, he has a cool name, he has
a cool day. There's so many options other than helmetless
Devon a Chan, who God bless him, he's very talented,
(13:50):
doesn't exactly have the facial recognition, So I don't know.
I hate to get someone in trouble. Are these done
by artificial and intelligence or someone where they just put
something up? Because I've seen this before. I want people
to watch the game. I want you to succeed. You
can't put Devon a Chen's face with no helmets trying
to get people. And it's just not something that is
in cell mode right now.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
Okay, it's my piece, And Kyle.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
You are fully entitled to this opinion because you have
history with this. Will you remind the people quickly of
the poster treatment that happened to us, Just say, believe
a season or two ago, the same thing with the Patriots,
and I believe it was like the Bills on a
Thursday night game, and this exact predicament came up where
we could not name the posterized version of who was
representing the Patriots that day. And I still to this
(14:33):
day would have to call Jason mccordy to be like,
who was that again, because I will not remember who
it is to this very day.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
As a table again a football show we're looking at.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
This was a couple of years ago, Jamie.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
I think that for a Patriots Amazon game they put
up Jawan Bentley's Yes, I think I think it was
Jawan Bentley. Jawan Bentley Again, it's no disrespect like great player.
He's a fifth round pick. Like there's so many players
in the NFL. The players are famous celebrities. And if
you're trying to get people to click, just help us,
help you. I'm selling at two and five and two
(15:07):
and six game, we got to do better than Devon
Hen's face.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
That's that's all I gotta say about it.
Speaker 10 (15:11):
Joan Bentley is a linebacker, you number eight, Yes, And
to put a linebacker on there, I mean it's got
to be it's got to be somebody that you know
that's probably been on a mad and cover.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
You know, like to have that to argue that.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
But yeah, yeah, this is from a linebacker. Yeah yeah,
Daron Walmore.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
When I do some of these promotions, it's to watch
people watch the game.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
If you're like, you know, I.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Wasn't gonna watch Ravens Dolphins tonight, but then I saw
that guy's face in the bottom right corner. Who is
some guy and the Dolphins I don't recognize?
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Now, you know what? Clear my schedule. I was gonna
cover Pumpkins.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
No, no, no, no, I saw that guy's face and
I am in now you got me.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Bezo was like, that's that's not it.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
That's not all right.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
So now it's just a working practice. I guess there
we go. Kyle, they redid it, Yo, all read it so.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Zay Flowers and jaylen Watta I know both those things immediately. No, no,
this is another one, another one. Wow, listen, I wouldn't
get too cute. I would put Lamar up there ten
times out of ten. He hasn't played in three weeks,
doue respect as day Flowers.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
But this is better.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
It's just I wish I could have.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
One cup of coffee with the people doing this and
we could just get it sorted out really fast.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
This is our version of who he played for?
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Right, Yes, they put up a player and Chu's Bucky
was like, I don't know the Sacramento Kings like no
Phoenix Suns.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Yes, this is our version, all right, Prime, we're watching regardless,
all right? Two and five, two and six, Well, we
just spent sixteen minutes as to why it matters, and
we care because you get it on the farewell come
said the show and the product feeds our families coming up.
Sam Garnold and Seattle are absolutely rolling. At five and two,
we're gonna play what's the word and address the Seahawks
(16:49):
in twenty twenty five. We gave a ton of words
last week, but they're taking on the Commanders on Sunday
Night football, Kyle, So what's the word for the Seahawks?
And another topic two.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
We'll get there right now. My word is plus.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
I usually use that to segue and the bump plus.
Have you been up all night studying? Because it is
time for mid terms? Good morning football mid terms with
our favorite teacher, mister Hoth, the real educator in this country.
There's Dion and the Falcons. What are we going to
talk about with him? We have midterm exams. Don't go anywhere.
You're gonna play at home?
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Yeah, is Devaney Chann out of Texas University an Aggie largest.
Speaker 12 (17:28):
Company in the world, and Divan eh Chan's face, Good
morning football.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
I'm holding a whiteboard but Manti, oh you. I was
gonna say, you're not drawing a picture, but you still are.
Time for what's the word and an illustration? Apparently the
Seahawks are returning from thereby this week's take on the Commanders.
Seattle currently sits atop the NFC West. Their head coach
Mike McDonald did not mince words when he talked about
how he wants to see his team play in their return.
Speaker 13 (17:59):
We say our styles trying to be trying to be decisive,
shocking and relentless. And I think there's a lot of
time are there, but we know that's what we're striving towards.
I think it's clear on my front in terms of messaging,
how about how we're operating, But we want to be aggressive.
We're going to be physically with without hitting all the
coaching buzzwords, you know, but that.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
Really is who we want to be.
Speaker 13 (18:16):
We want to be attacking and unrelenting and playing exciting
brand of ball.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
You know, shout out to Mike McDonald. Those are three
adjectives that we don't hear a lot when it comes
to describing style of play. And I like the fact
that he went away from stock coaching terms. So let's
try to do that ourselves. What's one word you would
use to describe the twenty twenty five Seahawks vantai up
until this point.
Speaker 10 (18:39):
Okay, the word I got is dependable. And now hear
me out when I say dependable. There's a quality about
really good football teams. That quality is they beat the
teams that they're supposed to be.
Speaker 4 (18:48):
When I look at the Seattle Seahawks and you look at.
Speaker 10 (18:51):
Whoever they're playing, the teams that they're playing, you, and
you assume they're going to win them, they're going to
win them.
Speaker 4 (18:55):
We can't say that for a lot of teams in
the league right now.
Speaker 10 (18:58):
Some teams will come off big wins and then the
next week play a team you think they're supposed to
be and they don't beat them, or they don't beat them.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
In the that you think they're going to.
Speaker 10 (19:05):
Right now, the Seattle Seahawks in twenty twenty five are
beating the teams that they're supposed to beat, and they're
beat them by margins they're supposed to beat them by
So I got dependable.
Speaker 11 (19:13):
They're supposed to beat the Commanders this week. Let's see
if they do it.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
I'm going to go There was an unword that he used,
was it unafraid?
Speaker 11 (19:19):
I'm going to go with undaunted because right now the
Seahawks is three to zero on the road, and some
of those were tough games. I mean going into Pittsburgh
there after Pittsburgh had won their open I believe it
was week two, they go and win there. The Jaguars
were in a roll at that time when they went
into Jacksonville and they beat them. Now they got to
go into Washington to face the Washington Commanders. It reminds
(19:39):
me of Pete Carroll Seahawks. Pee Caroll Seahawks did a
good job of traveling all the way east and winning
games on the road. Now Mike McDonald's started to do
that as well. They went in they played solid football
in those games. Undaunted is the word I'm going with
for the Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
All right, My word for the Seattle Seahawks in twenty
twenty five is sh And I looked this up.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
This actually is considered a word in the dictionary.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
You can even use this word in scrabble, so it
is a word.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
And last week I was screaming about the Seahawks about
no one talks about him this, and then no one
talks about him that, and ESPN doesn't cover him this
and the number one response from Seahawks fans but shut up, dummy,
we like.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
It that way. Stop talking about us.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
There's no gratitude, there's no excitement. It's let's keep it
that way. As Jasen dunks over the crossbar and gets
a penalty for it. This team does pretty much everything well,
including games, win games that matter against opponents that matter.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
You see a lot of fat records out.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
There, and you look who they beat, and you're like, eh,
Mike talked about this. They beat Jacksonville when they really matter.
They just beat Houston when they were warming up. They
beat Pittsburgh earlier in the season. Quality wins across the board,
and just watch, just watch to this factor of this
when and if they beat the Commanders this next weekend.
And Jaydon Daniels happens to play Dozens, it'll be more
(20:50):
about what's wrong with the Commanders. Does Jaydeon Daniels having
a slump? It'll be less about this. They're going to
slide through all day. This team could be sitting here
at like twelve and four and it'll still be about
the teams that they're beat and what's wrong with them.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
And I think that's just the way they like it.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Seahawks Commanders this weekend. Seahawks still have to play the
Rams twice in the back half of the year, so
that will be entertaining and we'll understand the post treatment
of that. All Right, We're gonna pivot to another game
on Sunday, the first Place Colts had to Pittsburgh to
take on Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. Here's what Indy
head coach Shane Steichen had to say about going up
against a future Hall of Fame.
Speaker 14 (21:25):
Quarterback, one of the best to do it, for sure
of all time. So still can throw the crap out
of it, makes really good decisions. So we've got to
do a great job, you know, with our coverages on
the back end and our pass rush because he can
still he can still to it at a high level.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
So we just got to be ready to go.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Everything coming up Colts, but Rogers can be quite prickly
if provoked. Colts fans, you should feel blank when going
up against Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers in Week nine.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
I think after all of these weeks close Pen you should.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
You should.
Speaker 10 (21:56):
I mean, it's the only offense that I see that
it can beat you so many different teams in so
many different ways. Whether it's the run game but Jonathan
Taylor who's in the NFL and rushing no big deal,
or the rest of the pass game where you can hit
Tyler Warren or all of those weapons Michael Pittman on
all sides of the field. It's it's like Shane Styking
can choose, I want to, I want to I want
to hit the left deep side of this defense real quickly.
(22:18):
It's called that play and he has the ability to
do so. And because of that and a defense that's
top ten in the NFL, I gotta go with if
you're a coach fan, you got to be confident. You've
got to be confident going into this game, the next game,
and so on and so forth. Because they demonstrated for
the past few weeks that they can do it.
Speaker 5 (22:32):
So you got the way you.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Have that confidence felt it looks like confident And then
it reminds me of like Marca, like I just want
to say it differently than you.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Maybe let me start.
Speaker 11 (22:41):
Here, got Mike, I don't have a fun place to
slide the horseshoe in and my word here. Thankfully, I'm
gonna go eager for the Colts and their fans because
this is your chance to uh shut.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Up the lights of me.
Speaker 11 (22:57):
Frankly, who A couple of weeks ago we did the rankings,
I was like, Wow, who have they really played?
Speaker 3 (23:02):
This is a tough game.
Speaker 11 (23:03):
Going to Pittsburgh, they lost a disappointing game.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
You went into LA and you beat the Chargers a
couple of weeks ago to prove it.
Speaker 11 (23:10):
These are all the litmus tests that all the Colts
fans are probably saying, like, it's only who's on our schedule.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Shut up about who we've played and whatnot. Got the
Chiefs coming up in a couple of weeks.
Speaker 11 (23:21):
This is your chance to not only show the folks
that you are legitimately a seven to one team and
a possible number one seed, it's the chance to sack
the record to make that one seed. Can you imagine
if the AFC go through Indianapolis in the playoffs, all
the teams that we talked about coming into the season,
(23:41):
if you've got to go to Indy and knock off
the Colts, everybody in the FC I kind of like that.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
I'm kind of eager to see that.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
How about the Colts just have this unbelievable dream season
and how all their dreams come true and it's magical,
and they get the one seed and they host the
division round, have to host the Chiefs, and you know
they're going to beat them, Like we all know it
right now, it's going to happen. I'm sorry, sorry, Cols Digress.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
You know how you should feel right now.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
You should feel top rope, top rope strong you Right now,
the Steelers are sprawling around, they don't know where they are.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
They're in the middle of the ring.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
They just had a home game in which Packers fans
invaded the stadium and we're doing Packers chance. The defense
can't stop anybody. Colts, climb up on that top rope
like Randy Machoman Savage and just drop the elbow on him.
You're better, right, now than Pittsburgh. You're stronger than Pittsburgh.
You know we have Aaron Rodgers name at the bottom
of the screen. Last week was about Aaron Rodgers. He
faced his former team and was outplayed by his replacement.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
This game should be about Daniel Jones.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
And how the Steelers feel about going against him and
against Jonathan Taylor, who is this year's Saquon. It might
even be better than Saquon was last year, which sounds insane.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
Oh my god, that sniff arm.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Go up on the top rope, go into that stadium
like the Packers did last week, and do what you
do every single week Indianapolis, which has dropped thirty plus
on someone, and just have this thing done in the
fourth quarter.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
The Colts right now are the best team in football.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense right now is suffocating and strangling
and they can't do anything.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
The culture run right the hell through them.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
But this is usually the time when gravity kicks in
for the Steelers and they're magnetically attached to being that
ten and seven or nine and eight. So this could
be a chaker, but the way the culture planned, I'm
not betting on it.
Speaker 5 (25:19):
Kyle.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Somehow you were just able to rain down like a shame,
disappointment and embarrassment on Colts fans. But you did it
in advance, like January twenty second, you already know they're
going to lose in a home AFC playoff game to
the Chiefs. I'm about to do it to you, bud,
because what's the word. What's the word?
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Word?
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Show us your board again, dude. We're not supposed to
break segments. You are the keeper of the breaker of
the segment that's on.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
That's true.
Speaker 5 (25:43):
Yeah, company, Come on, that's a lot better.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
That's a lot, brother, that's a lot of flag.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
I highly regret it.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
I bet, I bet you do well.
Speaker 9 (25:53):
The NFL Way to Play Awards are fueled by Gatorade
and they were created to recognize and reward players who
use proper playing techniques all levels of football included, which
means flag. And for this month's winner, we head to Arizona, where.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
The Cardinals are supporting the.
Speaker 9 (26:09):
Growth of girls' high school flag and broadcasting a girl's
flag Game of the Week even and here's a global
flag ambassador and member of the US women's national team,
Ashley clam This.
Speaker 15 (26:21):
Month's winner is Jayanna Bogan. From Campo Verde in Gilbert, Arizona.
Speaker 10 (26:27):
Scorpions rush to across the middle, got a receiver and
they come right back to number nine.
Speaker 6 (26:32):
Jayana Bogan Bogan, nobody pulls.
Speaker 16 (26:34):
Her flag touchdown Campo Verdi.
Speaker 15 (26:38):
So you see Jayana Bogan run this slant right here,
three steps slant cuts back in. Look at that spacing.
That is a purposeful spacing so that they get both
of their defenders confused. They don't even know where to choose.
And now she's running in. She does a spin move
to avoid another flagpool and takes it to the house
(26:59):
outrun probably all seven of those defenders.
Speaker 9 (27:02):
Congrats, Jaiana, incredible play there like a video game move right,
she has a little turn there. In honor of this
terrific way to play example, the NFL Foundation will the
lord a three thousand dollar equipment grant coming through USA
Football to the Compel Verde Coyotes and learn more about
NFL way to play. Check out Playfootball dot NFL dot
com got to announce another winner right here next week.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Now coming up here on.
Speaker 9 (27:26):
GMFB, Jamie and the guys taking a midterm exam. Time
to go back to school on GMFB. You don't want
to miss this from me.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Come back, good morn football, the people's teacher, the show's teacher,
mister Hoath from Stuartville Middle School in Minnesota. He is
back and mister Hoath is going to be mister host. Welcome,
(27:56):
mister Hoath. How are you. How's everything been going in class?
It's great to see you guys.
Speaker 17 (28:00):
Thanks a lot for having me back. I'm really excited
for it.
Speaker 18 (28:02):
At the end of the last time I was on
the show, we were just starting our unit on kinetic energy,
which you very well may see here. Shortly we brought
out a pocket radar. We were measuring velocity from throwing
a tennis ball. We've been doing a lot of different things,
but overall, I'm super excited to be back on the show.
Speaker 17 (28:19):
I'm happy that you guys brought me back.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
We did, and I know you got to sept there
since the last appearance. So who knows what you'll get
after this. You know what you'll get. You'll get what
everybody loves is airtime. You're going to host this segment
and there what are we looking at here?
Speaker 18 (28:32):
Like I just said, this is when we're talking about
our calculations for kinetic energy. Now obviously you can see
the students awestruck right now by the math calculations. I'm
sure everyone in the class was thrilled ready to learn it.
But all jokes aside having the sceptor and just being
a part of this show, guys, it's been it's been
a lot of fun for the students to be a
part of They love it all.
Speaker 4 (28:52):
Right.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Well, now you get to wheeld the scepter and you
wield your own knowledge. Because it's midterm time, mister Hoath
and you have.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
Some examinations for all of us, so I'm.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
Going to just pass you the mic, past you the
there's Manti, he's already looking like a hostage. There's Jamie,
there's Mike, and there's me, and there's mister Hoath. Do
your thing, take it away.
Speaker 18 (29:12):
Well, well, guys, to start, Okay, we got four questions here.
Speaker 17 (29:14):
We're gonna sign grades. This is an on completion, like
we say, we are basing this off of correctness.
Speaker 4 (29:20):
Okay, now we're.
Speaker 18 (29:21):
Gonna put each of you guys on the spot. I've
seen the trivia segment before. It's going to be each
of you answering the question on your own, Manti without
any help okay, So.
Speaker 17 (29:31):
Manti, we're gonna go to you first. Right away.
Speaker 18 (29:33):
We're going to go back to two thousand and nine.
And in two thousand and nine, one of the all
time great running backs, Adrian Peterson, had probably one of
the best angry runs I've ever seen against the Steelers.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
I remember that.
Speaker 17 (29:45):
If we're able to take a look at that, let's see.
Speaker 5 (29:47):
Far on full down over the top.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
The past is complete for first down, Adrian Peterson.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
We were talking earlier about the beast in the room
when we interviewed.
Speaker 5 (29:58):
That man right there, Adrian Peterson. Look at that shot.
Speaker 17 (30:03):
Goodness, Now, Manti, I'm asking you this, okay.
Speaker 18 (30:07):
The reason why we saw what we just saw is
that when they collided, Adrian Peterson had seven hundred more
j than the defender, William Gay.
Speaker 17 (30:17):
Question number one, what does the letter J represent?
Speaker 7 (30:23):
Oh you checks huh.
Speaker 5 (30:29):
As tempting as D is.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
I don't think it's d jiggle watts sounds like a
dance move.
Speaker 10 (30:34):
I will say, b Jules and decorrect.
Speaker 17 (30:41):
That's fantastic.
Speaker 18 (30:45):
Now, guys, to explain this briefly, I'm not here to try.
Speaker 17 (30:49):
To critique the technique of an NFL defender.
Speaker 18 (30:52):
But the reason why we're seeing what we do is
right before the collision, William Gay slows out.
Speaker 17 (30:58):
When he does that.
Speaker 18 (30:59):
He's dramatically reducing the kinetic energy that his body is stored.
Adrian Peterson, and he runs right through them. No kinetic
energy decrease there, He's able to keep running right.
Speaker 5 (31:10):
To get a good start learn something. Thank you.
Speaker 17 (31:13):
Okay, all right, you see running on to you, Mike.
Speaker 18 (31:17):
Here to disadvantage because you missed the lecture last time.
We're going to go to probably one of the best
catches now that I've ever seen from Sunday Night Football
in twenty fourteen.
Speaker 17 (31:27):
Odell Beckham Junior.
Speaker 11 (31:28):
Take a peek, and Manning's gonna need one these Oh
there's a flag way to catch how in the.
Speaker 13 (31:37):
Little Oh my good, this is sick.
Speaker 5 (31:42):
Put this the music.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
That is absolutely impossible.
Speaker 5 (31:46):
What he just did.
Speaker 4 (31:47):
That may be the greatest catch I've ever seen in
my life. It's in the conversation.
Speaker 5 (31:52):
Wow.
Speaker 18 (31:53):
Now, now, Mike, we'll see your prior knowledge here. But
there's a very important science, very important physics theory that
explains why obj was able.
Speaker 17 (32:02):
To elevate off the ground and make that catch. What's
that theory called?
Speaker 5 (32:09):
There's no choice.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
My theory tub thumping.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
Don't think it's that get knocked down and they get
up again.
Speaker 11 (32:16):
I think I got this one. I think I got
this one because I was doing spring force with my
daughter the other day, which, by the way, I missed
the lecture, but I'm pretty sure you got the note
from my parents on that number one. Number two I
covered this game and I remember thinking myself, Wow, that
is hook is law. I don't know if I pronounce
the correct but hook is law on display.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
I'm going with d hook is law.
Speaker 18 (32:38):
Guys, Half the time, as a teacher, you can fake
your confidence, which apparently is what Mike just did right there,
because the correct answer is actually a right now what
you said?
Speaker 5 (32:51):
There's the bell?
Speaker 17 (32:51):
Sorry again now.
Speaker 18 (32:52):
Like we said last time I was on the show, Guys, Odell.
Speaker 17 (32:55):
Beckham Junior exerts force on the ground.
Speaker 18 (32:58):
The ground responds as a reaction force to actually push
him back off, causing him.
Speaker 17 (33:03):
To elevate in hair.
Speaker 18 (33:05):
This action reaction pair is also known as force pairs.
Speaker 5 (33:09):
Is it hooks law?
Speaker 3 (33:11):
Hooks laws like the spring and the stretch right.
Speaker 18 (33:14):
Yeah, when you use spring scales, that's one way to
look at different types of forces. When we're just talking
about two pairs action reaction forces.
Speaker 17 (33:22):
Guys, my lights are off, give me one second.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Yeah, we got to wave your arm.
Speaker 17 (33:28):
We're trying to conserve energy. Where we're energy to those
makes up after.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
About action reaction Right there you go.
Speaker 17 (33:35):
So, hey, we're one for two. Okay, we got two
more questions. See how we can do Jamie, Now it's
over to you.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
Sure if I got to tell you something, I was
a really bad student in school, So I'm terrified right now.
Speaker 18 (33:45):
Go Well, at least we're asking questions with the NFL,
because that's what you guys do with So we'll see Jamie. Okay, Kickers,
kickers nowadays, they're better than ever. Right at this point
in the season. We already have six field goals made
of greater than sixty yards. We've never seen that before. Now,
as you can see Brandon Aubrey okay for the Cowboys,
huge lay.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 18 (34:05):
But before Brandon Aubrey makes contact with the football, he's
doing a very important thing with the spot. He's storing
a certain type of without giving.
Speaker 17 (34:17):
It too much information, science piece of energy. So I'm
asking you.
Speaker 18 (34:22):
This, okay, which term describes the energy any kicker is
storing before they kick the ball.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
You guys are trying to troll me. I've did a
top five horrible list of feet injuries. Hammer toe should
have been on it. So not hammertoe. You guys are
trying to make me pick pelvic clutch because that's hilarious.
I think that's what you experience in childbirth. Instead, I'm
going to go the force of pendulum, and I hope
I don't let my physics major dad down.
Speaker 18 (34:51):
See Jamie, how do I be as nice as possible with?
This is an awesome model to use with energy transfer
from kinetic to potential. But when you kick a football,
you're storing see elastic potential energy in your body. We
actually call this body deformation. When a kicker swings their
(35:12):
leg back, they're putting tension.
Speaker 17 (35:14):
On all of the muscles in their leg, kind.
Speaker 18 (35:16):
Of like a rubber baya like Henry bring back to
its normal position.
Speaker 17 (35:20):
That's exactly it. Yeah, so okay, yeah, we're one day.
Speaker 5 (35:25):
Okay, that's great. Good mister Hoa.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
I gotta say you're you're doing a fantastic job. Fantastic
job hosting. This is probably the best trivia segment we've
ever had.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
Eat your Heart out stragger.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
I'm telling you, mister, if they're hitting this out, he's taking.
Speaker 5 (35:39):
Them to score. They're not.
Speaker 4 (35:40):
They're not.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
If there's something wrong with the Cowboys, I'm sure.
Speaker 5 (35:42):
But anyway, mister Hoath, keep going.
Speaker 18 (35:45):
Guys, we're dealing with things. I had a student knocking
on my door right now. They don't know that they
have a substitute where we're dealing with it. Okay, So
I got the pressure right now, Kyle, we're gonna throw
the pressure over to you.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
Okay.
Speaker 17 (35:57):
So we're gonna start with some superlatives.
Speaker 18 (35:59):
Probably the best angry runner of all time is marsham
much and probably the best anger runner I have ever
seen was back to the playoffs when they played the
New Orleans Saints.
Speaker 17 (36:09):
So I'm asking you, and what I'm going to show
you right away is that run when he made the
earth shape. Go ahead.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Sure, we're oud silent now as opposed to win the
Saints Seahawks team who is still in the playoffs. This run,
he's gonna run into Tracy Porter right there, whose whole
life is supposed to be Aboudy and the walk off
pick six against Peyton Manning and the super Bowl. And
yet anybody it is who finds him on the street,
disasling about Marshawn.
Speaker 5 (36:31):
Don't show this.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Part even showed you that I've.
Speaker 5 (36:34):
Ever seen in my wa.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
Get off me, he said to Tracy Porter.
Speaker 5 (36:41):
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 12 (36:42):
What?
Speaker 17 (36:43):
We're gonna do? You a curveball now?
Speaker 18 (36:45):
Because Marshawn bist Moode, he's known for his love of skittles.
Speaker 17 (36:49):
Okay, yeah, just follow me here.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
Okay.
Speaker 18 (36:52):
The question that I'm asking you is not just along
with the good taste of skittles. I'm asking you which
sugar is most rapidly absorbed by the human body in
what street?
Speaker 4 (37:03):
Okay? Okay?
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Is this more biology than physics?
Speaker 4 (37:07):
Though? All right?
Speaker 1 (37:08):
So I know the difference is that I think that
the sugar in an apple is I think that's fruit toose,
which is not there.
Speaker 5 (37:15):
So sucrose is apparently the one that's.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
Like added sugar that you add to skittles or kool
aid or something fun. Dip is a fantastic thing. You
can eat the stick at the end after you're done
dipping it.
Speaker 5 (37:27):
Do bos.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
I don't think that is this glucose I'm gonna say.
I'm gonna say it's sucrose, which I think is that
old like RFK artificial sugar that's in the skittles, And
I think the answer as an English major, I think
the answer is a on this chemistry question.
Speaker 17 (37:45):
Now, Kyle, you're close.
Speaker 18 (37:47):
Sucrose is a type of sugar, but the correct answer
is actually glucose.
Speaker 11 (37:52):
Because like glucose diabetes like, but I do, yeah, and guys,
I just want to diabetics.
Speaker 18 (38:00):
This isn't necessarily a physics question, but this is more
than a gif.
Speaker 17 (38:05):
Okay, even at Stourville.
Speaker 18 (38:06):
Here at halftime, our football players, there's a giant cooler
full of Skittles, Starbursts, Twizzlers.
Speaker 17 (38:13):
The reason why that is is because within.
Speaker 18 (38:16):
About five to ten minutes, that energy stored in candy
can be readily available for your body to use. So
not talking about it being the most healthy thing, but
if you're trying to get the quickest energy possible, candy
is the way to go.
Speaker 5 (38:31):
Mister Yes, what a great job. You're the way to go.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
You know what, while we have a second, mister Hoath,
why don't you enlighten us because the vikings are fascinating
right now. What is the potential energy, if you will
of JJ McCarthy's return because no one can figure it out.
Speaker 18 (38:44):
What's your take on that, Well, my hope is with
rest and recovery time that he's had, hopefully he's been
able to store a little bit of potential energy.
Speaker 17 (38:52):
I have really high hopes for him.
Speaker 18 (38:54):
Obviously last Thursday night that was tough for Carson Wentz.
But again, being a North Dakota native, I appreciate everything
he's done for the Vikings. The only hope we have
now lies on JJ and I home again. From his perspective,
he wants that right like it's his time.
Speaker 5 (39:10):
Round of a pause for mister host.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
Everybody, the people's teacher. Give him an apple schools out.
Speaker 4 (39:16):
Excellent job, great, great, great job. Thank you, mister Hoath,
Thank you, mister Hollek, appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
Thanks a lot.
Speaker 17 (39:21):
Make sure you study up for the final. We'll see that.
Speaker 5 (39:24):
