Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
GMFB.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Everybody welcome inside Thursday, June's fifth. I'm Jamie r at All.
You always know I sit in this chair. Jane Slater
here today, which we love.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
We stole her.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
We borrowed her from Dallas for the day. Cynthia Freelan
in you see her all over NFL Network with her
data analytics or expert here on NFL Network. And then
Kelsey Conway holding it down in New York, came in
from Cincinnati, took a beat from the Bengals beat Cincinnati Enquirer,
GMFB Thursday. We got guests, we got topics plus roll
down Thursday. It's happening right now.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Roland, Good Morning Football.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
That's right, Good Morning Football. It is GMFB. Everybody on
a Thursday. Cynthia, Jane, Jamie, Kelsey Conway in New York.
I have to ask just to in case something happens
Jane and Kelsey, what if Michael Parsons or Trey Hendrickson
signs something like how are we dealing with the fact
that you two are on GMFB. Kelsey'll ask you first,
how are you tracking anything? Because you two have some

(01:17):
contracts that you're trying to track.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Well.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
I think Trey's better get done before Micah's or that
will reset the market once again. And that's already happened
to the Bengals and Trey Hendrickson when Miles Garrett sent that.
But I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.
I think training camp is when it's gonna happen. So
I think it might run up similar to the timeline
of Michael Parsons, but Jane would know more about that one.

Speaker 6 (01:41):
Yeah, I feel like you and I are back and forth.

Speaker 7 (01:43):
It's not the Cowboys way to get one done early, guys,
although they have been making some off season moves that
have shocked me. But Micah will be at mini camp
next week. He doesn't miss the ones that he's got
to be at. He just celebrated his birthday in Europe.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Oh go.

Speaker 7 (01:57):
So I feel comfortable that this thing's not getting done
at least anytime soon.

Speaker 6 (02:01):
But it will get done.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
So we can take the hour on GMF, then some
other things. Okay, throw down Thursday. It's happening right now.
We start with little fighting robots. I will give you
two topics and you have to make a decision. There
is no I don't know. I'm going to pick both.
It's not allowed. On the throwdown Thursday, We'll start with
two of the best divisions in the league. What is
more competitive? Which one of these divisions is more competitive?

(02:24):
Is it the AFC North or Kelsey? Is it the
NFC East.

Speaker 6 (02:29):
It's tough one.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
Well, I really wish you would have given us the
option to pick both, because this is such a tricky
question and it wouldn't have been that part of a
question maybe two years ago. But I absolutely love what
dan Quinn has done with the commanders in Washington. He
did such a great job in his first year, and
that's what made this so challenging, because there now really
is three teams in the NFC East that can all

(02:53):
contend to win that. And then in the AFC North,
having covered it now for four seasons, that division, in
my opinion, is the best in the AFC. But the
reason I'm going to go with the AFC North is
just because you know what you're going to get out
of the Ravens. You know that with Burrow the Bengals
are going to be and at least in contention, and
then Pittsburgh, even if they have Aaron Rodgers or not.

(03:16):
Mike Tomlincks's success speaks for itself, so you know Pittsburgh's
going to be in the conversation. Cleveland's the only outlier.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
But in the last five.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
Years, twelve AFC North teams have made the playoffs and
there's only ten NFC East teams. So I think I
chose the AFC North more so because I'm not sure
what to expect out of Dallas in New York, but
I at least know what I'm going to get out
of Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Cleveland.

Speaker 6 (03:42):
See, I'm with you.

Speaker 7 (03:43):
It's tough when you look at that specifically. I think
when you look at the AFC, northy focus on the quarterbacks.
For me, yes, I think there's a focus on the
quarterbacks in.

Speaker 6 (03:50):
The NFC East.

Speaker 7 (03:51):
But I think more importantly it's some of the pieces
that they started adding. I mean, when you look at
the Washington Commanders adding Deebo Samuel already, you got Terry McLaurin,
You've got Jayden Daniels there, than when I go to
the Giants upgraded at quarterback with Jackson Dhart, They've got
Cam Scattibo. When I go to the Eagles, Barkley is

(04:11):
just going to I think, build on what he had
last season. You've got a new OC there. And then
in Dallas, listen, when Dak is healthy, the Cowboys find
ways to win. Last year, they of course didn't have him,
but I think more importantly getting George Pickens to help
Ceedee Lamb and then them actually giving some attention to.

Speaker 6 (04:31):
The running back room going and.

Speaker 7 (04:33):
Getting a guy like Javonte Williams and Jaden Blue. I
think that's what makes this division.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Intriguing right now.

Speaker 7 (04:40):
And when we talk about competitiveness, I'm looking at the
fact that in the last two decades you haven't had
a repeat team win the division, and so O prosessed
with that stuff.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
And when you looked at the NFC East two years ago,
they truly were.

Speaker 7 (04:54):
The least last season they felt the season four that
felt more like a beast. So for me, I think
the NFC East obviously I cover it more, you know, Kelsey,
that's my division. But I think this year in particular,
there's a lot of question marks and I think there's
a lot of room to see where some of these
teams are going to move.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Yeah, I kind of took.

Speaker 8 (05:12):
This in a different direction because I think that's just
what I do. But I'm looking at the opportunity to
win games and the schedule, and I would just like
to point out that the NFC East they face all
of the NFC West and all of the AFC West
primetime games too. Yeah, but just by virtue of the
fact that to me, they have much harder schedules.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
You are what your record says you are.

Speaker 8 (05:33):
The NFC North they had they get to play them
as well.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
These are some problems. There's the problems there.

Speaker 8 (05:39):
So when you look at the potential, I mean, I
look at the Giant schedule and I'm like, this is
for a fourth place team. This is disgusting. It's so
hard the schedule. And of course I love what the
Eagles are doing. You got to respect love what the
Commanders are doing. But I'm very confused about the other two.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
I always look at when we try we try to
define a division as a whole. It's easy to go
to the top and try to just be like, oh,
the top is going to raise the cream of the
crop whatever. I actually look at the basement and who
is the lesser team at the bottom. And for whatever
is going on with the Giants. I am a Brian
Dabele fan. I like Joshan, and I think what the
Giants have done this offseason has actually raised them higher

(06:16):
than the Cleveland Browns because I still don't besides Miles Garrett,
I still don't understand how to define the Browns and
like the direction that they're going in, So I think
I will go with the NFC East and this, well,
us you got the raigning Super Bowl champ what are
you gonna do?

Speaker 6 (06:27):
And I also wonder with Brian Dabele too. I feel
like this is a bit of approve it year totally.
It's you know, he's got to really step up this year.

Speaker 7 (06:34):
The fact that he's got Russell Wilson there, he's got
Jameis Winston, he's got Jackson Darius.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Seems like they're throwing.

Speaker 7 (06:39):
Everything at the board, the cold kitchen stink to see
if they can make this thing work.

Speaker 6 (06:43):
With the Giants, I just.

Speaker 8 (06:44):
Like to point out, though, look at their schedule and
look at the fact that they have exactly two home
games from the middle of October to the middle of December,
and one of them happens to be the Niners.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
And the other one happens to be the Eagle. It's
just a terrible schedule.

Speaker 8 (06:58):
Chiefs in the beginning to sem it's nothing. I love
day Ball, I love what they're like, all of that stuff.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
It's just a really hard schedule. I didn't sit here
and say they were going to be competitive.

Speaker 7 (07:08):
Let's make sure what I'm just saying. I think this
could be a very competitive division within it within itself.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
All right. Second topic on Throwdown Thursday, Browns defensive coordinator
Jeff Schwartz knows how competitive offenses are in the AFC North.
He's just thankful he's got Miles Garrett in his back
pocket and thinks his best is still yet to come.

Speaker 9 (07:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (07:32):
I really think Miles is going to have the best
season of his career and has to write you know,
I mean with you know, I've told him before. You know,
what's that Spider Man quote, With great power comes great responsibility, right,
you know, and that's with with the with the big contract,
with the notoriety that came along with that, and you

(07:55):
know what, the process that took to get him to
get him to that point, there also comes you know,
you know, let's I mean, there's there's a always pressure
in this league, but probably a little bit more so.
And I think that that brings out the best employers,
and I know that'll be the case with Miles not for.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Nothing, Jim for it's fully unbothered by the construction, deeping
the background and answering the question about Miles Garrett. If
you have that guy in your team, you are better
for it. Here's the question, dough for throw it on Thursday.
If you are going to start your own team, who
would you do it with? Miles Garrett or literally anyone
else in the field of defensive lineman Kelsey? Where would
you go put your GM hat on?

Speaker 5 (08:36):
He is absolutely my pick. I'm going with Miles Garrett
above anyone.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
And there was a play last year.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
The Bengals open the season in Cleveland and Jamie, I
want to see what you think about this euro step
here with your basketball background.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
This is before he sacks Burrow.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
And it was one of those moments that you're sitting
watching being like this guy is just toying with them,
Like he's unbelievable. They can move him all over the
defensive line. He can do anything. And so that's why
for me, it's Miles Garrett if I could start a
team and pick any defensive player, He's incredible to watch.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
And that was just silly.

Speaker 7 (09:12):
He said, instead of swim moves, I'm doing drimble moves ossover.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
You know how intimidating that is when you're actually playing basketball.
And then he just messes around and does it in
the backfield of a defense. He should be on the line.
He's like, no, I got enough time. I'm just gonna
mess with Burrows head of all quarterbacks. Oh, Kelsey's great pick.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
For me, it's Michaeh Parsons.

Speaker 7 (09:30):
And I know that seems like a Homer pick because
I covered the two. I would argue, go and look
at everywhere that they've lined him up on the field.
For me, it's his versatility, it's his engine and his motor.
They call him the lion for a reason.

Speaker 6 (09:43):
I mean, look the way that he gets You'll see him.

Speaker 7 (09:46):
He is literally taking down one defender than the next.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
He is so aggressive at getting to the ball.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
And he's young.

Speaker 7 (09:52):
And when we talked about some of his injuries, even
though he had multiple injuries last season, he played through him.
He had twelve sacks, I think forty three tackles, three
fource fumbles.

Speaker 6 (10:03):
He is all over the field. Of you're at and
T Stadium, we're on the road, it's Mike ca.

Speaker 7 (10:07):
Parsons with the sack, Mike Caparsons on the fumble, and
so for me, it's tough picking between the two. But
it's where you can line him up in different I mean,
they've played him at safety, they played him at linebacker,
they played him at end.

Speaker 6 (10:19):
So I like his position flex.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
I like that.

Speaker 8 (10:22):
I'm actually gonna just submit for the conversation to start
with the Max Crosby. Why, Because we've seen him playing
on a team that has been a little bit win challenged.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
And what does that mean?

Speaker 8 (10:32):
So if I'm starting a team and I need to
rely on the defense, I'm looking at a guy who
can stop the run.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
I'm looking at a guy who absolutely destroys.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Look at this.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Broncos. And why I said win
challenge it's the nicest way to put that.

Speaker 8 (10:46):
But I'm guessing that if I'm starting a team, I
don't also get to pick a quarterback and all these
other things. So I'm going on for a player's twenty
seven years old, so you get two more years because
Miles Garrett's twenty nine, So we get a little bit younger,
and I get a little bit more of a guy
who can prove it even when the chips are down
around him. I know he's always gonna rise to the challenge.
And I don't think he ever gets enough credit for

(11:06):
how well he stops the run. That is something that
not all edge rushers are great at doing. And Max
Crosby he helps out in the run game as well.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
Listen when he talks people, listen in that locker room too.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yeah, how can you not? Yeah, we do this a
lot with the quarterbacks in the AFC, where we are
constantly listening mahomes Lamar, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen. And that's
a fair that's a fair list to do. Kelsey, I
gotta ask when we're talking defensive linemen and guys who
would start a team with, We're going Miles Garrett, Michael
Parson's Max Crosby is is that detrimental to what Trey
Henderson is going through in Cincinnati? Absolutely?

Speaker 5 (11:40):
And that's where this is such a complicated situation that
for the last two years, this has been something that
I've had to cover a lot because the market keeps resetting,
and Trey hendricks inside of it has been I shouldn't
have to apologize for Miles Garrett and soon to be
Micah Parsons resetting the market and the Bengals don't want

(12:01):
to pay him, and he says he's not asking for
Miles Garrett's type of money, but Cynthia, he thinks he's
at the level of a Max Crosby. And so that's
why this is such an interesting pridgment because he is thirty,
he's turning thirty one in December, but he's led the
league in sacks the last two years, so it's where
do you slot him? And they just haven't been able

(12:21):
to come to what Trey thinks is fair and what
the Bengals thinks is fair, and the market just keeps
getting higher and higher. So I really don't know where
the situation goes, and I think it's going to take
a little bit longer to figure out. And I'm fascinated
to see next week. Jane said that Michael Parsons is
going to be at mini camp. We don't know at
this point if Trey Hendrickson is going to report, because

(12:42):
I don't get the sense that it's on the same
level of calmness right now that maybe it is with
Michael Parsons and Cowboys.

Speaker 8 (12:49):
I'm offering I'm Swy Hendrickson and I'm the sack leader.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
I'm not coming less.

Speaker 8 (12:53):
I think we're actually get something done because you have
to bet on yourself at some point.

Speaker 11 (12:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (12:56):
Well, and Kelsey, I know you've dealt with this up
in Cleveland. I mean in Dallas, I kind of got it.
I had quite a few back and forth with Jerry
Jones on this because.

Speaker 6 (13:05):
I feel like, you know, we did this with Ezekiel Elliott.

Speaker 7 (13:07):
We did this with See Lamb where it's you know,
we're not resetting the market, we were not paying I'll
never forget what the Ezekiel Elliott is.

Speaker 6 (13:15):
We don't believe that he deserves Todd Gurley.

Speaker 7 (13:17):
Money, and then he held out at camp and then
guess what you pay him.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
They always end up paying.

Speaker 7 (13:24):
I don't always, but I do believe what's interesting these
days is the leverage sometimes where it's did you guys
ever watch the show Glee.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Where it's, you know, Jay Lynch's.

Speaker 6 (13:33):
Like, I'm going to make the situation.

Speaker 7 (13:34):
So toxic that we're finding that players use that leverage
and request a trade by making these things very very diffeent.
We're seeing it in Tampa Bay right now. And so
my whole thing is, I think all of us we
go through our own contracts. You want to feel respected,
but it is fascinating watching some of these twists and
turns as it relates to holding out for the money

(13:55):
and deciding who deserves what.

Speaker 5 (13:59):
But just to follow up on that, Jane, the only
reason it might be different than that where you say
they always end up paying them is that the Bengals
already pay their two wide receivers a ton of money.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
This off seats we.

Speaker 8 (14:10):
Didn't sure Dave Prescott find the Triple Crown winner without
a contract. First that that never happens other places that would.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
Not have happened.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
And then to make matters worse, Kelsey, is the fact
that you have a first round draft pick who also's
deal is not done right, Like I'm sure Lula an
Rumo for as much as we all love them, at
the table is like, guys, give me a guy, pay
a guy, and I can move forward with this. I
mean it must make some of the best liaries like
I'm going to Indy.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
Yeah, yeah, can you guys believe some like. I mean,
sometimes the amount of storylines coming out of such a
small market in Cincinnati. I mean, if you look at
the difference in market size between Jane covering the Cowboys
and there sometimes are very similar storylines. It seems like
in the way that the Cowboys deal with contracts compared
to the Bengals. But yeah, I mean next week there
could be a chance that the Bengals don't have either

(14:59):
their first round pick, Schamar Stewart practicing or Trey Hendrickson,
And those are two of their you know, starting defensive
ends that they're counting on to what we talked about
so much this this episode is the slow start. So
the Bengals, you know, it's got to be something that
they got to figure out because not having either one
of those defensive ends next week in mini camp, I
don't think is an ideal situation for anyone.

Speaker 7 (15:21):
Isn't it fun when we're trying to enjoy our one
month of summer from mid June to July, Kelsey, and
we're constantly on standby to see if this thing's going
to happen.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Oh my god, Mike go Tray, Micah Trey. Like the
nature of through ITOU on Thursday. Let's get to our
final topic. Kelsey already brought it up. It's Miles Garrett
doing the crossover. Let's bring basketball back into it. Inside
the NBA Legends Shaqil O'Neil joined the Kelsey Brothers on
their podcast and told them that he could have made
it in the NFL if he had stuck with football.
Explain yourself, Jack, I.

Speaker 9 (15:50):
Think if I would have stuck with football, I probably
would have. I probably would have definitely made tied end.
Like I hate when people looking me, but you'd be
a good offensive. I'm not alignment. I'm a showman in
the nineties for sure. You running up and down the floor,
I could set that's up right now.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
If people that say that don't remember Orlando Shack, right,
they don't remember every running the court like that.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
That's what they don't remember, all right.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
He says he was a showman and he would have
been inside the NBA. Look at those legends.

Speaker 8 (16:18):
We got Shack and we got Charles Barkley.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
This is what it looks like when you stack these
guys tail of the tape in the NBA. But here's
the question, the throwdown, which one of these guys would
have made a better NFL player considering all those numbers,
Shack or Chuck Kelsey, Who do you got?

Speaker 5 (16:37):
I want to go with Chuck, And maybe it's because
I'm biased and I love Chuck on TV and think
he's just hilarious. But what if we said he's an
interior defensive lineman.

Speaker 6 (16:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (16:47):
I just get the sense that he would just be
an animal.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
So I'm gonna go.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
With Chuck being more successful if you played in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Nice. I'm going with Shack.

Speaker 8 (16:56):
Why because in those nineteen seasons they should have added
this to that chart we saw before. Fifty nine times
he fouled out of a game, the most.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
In NBA history.

Speaker 8 (17:06):
You don't think an NBA player likes contact? Oh you
know who likes contact? The seven foot one guy. That's
who likes contact. So if I'm saying, who's going to
be the more physical dude, the one that's gonna hien
And don't get me wrong, I love Chuck too, but
it's Shack.

Speaker 6 (17:19):
That's all good one.

Speaker 7 (17:21):
So I really I was curious about this because in Dallas,
when I worked in sports talk, there was like a
whole debate Lebron James once said he wanted to play
tight end for the Cowboys, rights of coourse, falling out
with Jerry Jones neither here nor there.

Speaker 6 (17:33):
But there's never been a seven foot one tight end.

Speaker 7 (17:35):
Obviously, we had a six' ten to one more stroud
throwback vintage football, fans and what they did was they
would just put him under the goal and have him
blocked field goals under the goalpost rather and having just
block field goals so much so that they came out
with the rule that you can't do it. ANYMORE i
do believe that he would be particularly dangerous on special.
TEAMS i think he'd be particularly dangerous as a tight.

Speaker 6 (17:55):
End AND i didn't realize he was An all state football.

Speaker 7 (17:58):
Player until he hurt his knee and then ultimately that's
WHY i ended up playing. Basketball so given the fact
that he is good on his, FEET i would loved he's.

Speaker 6 (18:07):
Elite at talking smack uh.

Speaker 7 (18:09):
Huh BUT i think he's one of the few ones
at seven foot one that actually carries his weight.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Well red zone. Threat, yeah So i'm Know i'm gonna
go to a shock in, there all, Right Charles, man
those guys shout out to inside THE nba just like
an epic television watch for years For SPORTS tv and
now just a random topic that we can use on
A thursday with.

Speaker 9 (18:27):
Her On.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Thursday fifteen years, AGO i was a twenty year old
college student AND i earned an internship to learn under,

Speaker 4 (19:33):
You i'm, Great, Jamie thank you so. Much that's. AWESOME
i don't know what to.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
Say, well you, KNOW i love, You but we have
to go in on The vikings right. Now. Don it's
been twenty plus years that you've been In minnesota covering The,
vikings and you've witnessed a ton of quarterback changeover and
it's the biggest of names and sometimes it's headline, worthy
From Dante culpepper to farv To Kirk. Cousins now we
got A jj McCarthy. Situation what have you seen from

(19:59):
this young quarterback so far that makes you feel differently
about the trajectory The vikings are.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
On you, know WHAT i really like about him is
his confidence and his. Poise even last year after his,
injury he stayed with the. Team he didn't get. Down
but what we have seen In OTA's mini. Camps now
he has that arm strength that he's been known, for the,
accuracy the. Zip he already has the camaraderie with his,

(20:26):
Teammates SO i think that that is not just something that's.
Assumed he has built that from day. One but when
you go on there and you see him on the,
field he has that leadership and so that's hard to
earn when you're a guy that hasn't really thrown the
ball to. Anybody and WHAT i really like too is
his improved. Footwork when he first got here From, michigan you,
know his footwork was a little different and had had

(20:49):
to adjust to THE, nfl and he's got that. Quickly
so from the attitude to handling, us to how he
is on the, field and now seeing him connect a
little bit with the likeel Like Jordan. Edison Justin, jefferson
of course excited for the future AND i hope he
can keep this up and the leg he said he's, bigger, stronger,
Faster so let's hook that that's the. Case.

Speaker 8 (21:12):
Done it's such a pleasure to meet. You we saw
the Magic Sam darnold And Justin jefferson were able to
achieve in one season last.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Year now we have heard that they've.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Been hanging out.

Speaker 8 (21:22):
Together they were out Of Minnesota timberwolves game maybe a
month ago or something like. That how is that developing
on the.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
Field you know WHAT i really love About Justin jefferson
is his leadership and his, ownership and so he is
the guy that even if they didn't come, together he
was going to make sure that he got a really
good relationship going with this. Quarterback but when he saw
him at The, timberwolves some people, Said, okay was that
a little. Awkward but they're also miked, up you, know

(21:49):
so you're forcing these two guys that have chemistry and
also putting a mic on them and then showing them
on a big, screen and it just seemed like that
they have been friends. Forever so it would be great
to see that first touchdown. Connection get it out of the,
Way Have jets do the. Gritty everyone's ON jj AND.
Jj so now they wanted to make it clear that Justin,

(22:09):
jefferson This jets AND. Jj so but you know people
are going to say THAT JJ jj, Connection.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Well let's stick With.

Speaker 7 (22:18):
Jefferson he's seemingly been all over the places all, Season
Mett Galla New York Formula one race In, miami but
he looks to be locked in with His viking team right.
Now he's currently Attending, OTAs which in previous years spinafee
for different, reasons mind, you but what does his presence
at the team activities signify to, you someone who's covered
this team and Covered jefferson over the, years.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
You, know it's absolutely. Huge it means the. World it
shows that he has confidence not only in his ability
to be a leader for this, team but also who
wants to be there FOR jj. McCarthy he wants to
be there at the ground floor of not only getting
that connection going with them on the, field but maybe
helping this young quarterback any way he. Can this is
WHAT i have, Seen this is WHAT i like to.

(23:01):
Do he even did that With Sam. Darnold you, know
he'd like to, Say i'm, like just throw the, Ball
i'll haul it. Down AND i see that very thing
that he's doing WITH, jj, like let's be, loose you know.
What you kind of have to take some, chances and
this is the time to take chances in OTAs where
you can do, that you can go all. Out you
can see what he can haul, down you can get
that rhythm. Together so that's been really good to. See

(23:23):
So i'm impressed with Justin jefferson coming this early and
working this. Hard but if anyone knows this, guy this
is just how he. Is if he knows it's best
for the, team he's going to do.

Speaker 12 (23:35):
It love.

Speaker 5 (23:35):
That, Yeah Don we've talked so much about This vikings,
offense BUT i want to switch the defensive side of the.
Ball let's talk a little bit about that unit Under Brian.
Flores how has he been able to build that unit
up to what it? Is then that's a unit that
creates so many challenges for opposing offenses to go up.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
Against well this.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
Year first of, all he also brings in. Talent so
the fact that he's doing really, well he's attracting big.
Names we Got Jonathan allen And hardgrave is here also keeping.
Talent Biron Murphy junior is, Saying Harrison smith is. Staying
josh mittelis you get these, Names and of Course andrew
Ben ginkle just signed another one year monster contract to.
Day so when you have these veterans that respect him

(24:20):
so much and it's a two way, street B flow
likes to change things. Up is not the same. Thing
so every year is exciting for this. Defense josh mttellis
that he's listed as a, safety but he's really a
chess piece all over the field and that's what they.
Like And Harrison smith also for him to come back
and to be like this rejuvenated kid. Again that says

(24:43):
something about, beflow that's what they call. Him it says
something about him that you want to come, Back he.
Says my body doesn't feel LIKE i wanted to come
back at the end of the, year BUT i want
to come back and see what we can. Do and
the interesting, thing out of all the defensive Coordinators i've ever,
Covered Brian flores really wants. Input and not only it's
not lip. Service he wants to hear From dan, said

(25:05):
even the young. Guys but you're on the. Field what
did you? See how can we incorporate that into what we're.
Doing so it's really a two way, street AND i
think the players thrive off of that.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Absolutely all, right don since you are a repeat guest
and friend of the show ON, GMFB i know that
you would be down for, Anything so we have demanded
you to bring a whiteboard to the segment today for
a fun game in which we are going to make

Brian and she even gave the heavy. Paragraph she was, like, Nah,
URLACKER i don't even care if it rhymes with. Linebacker
you're at the bottom of my, List.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
BRIAN i do Like, brian BUT i was not there
For Chris. CARTER i came there on The Randy moss
before he left and then before he came back and
before he left. Again but BUT i do Know. Chris
he's come back in And Chris carter also really make
sure that he brings it down and Helps Justin, jefferson
so that in my heart is always the number. One

(28:58):
he's got two now that he's Mentoring, mente and so
it's still number. One And i'm a name Of New.
Englander so for me to put that ahead Of tom And,
DREW i just don't want my people at home to
think Of, Masella.

Speaker 11 (30:46):
Amazing high school was, fun set some, records you, know
want some. Championships and my Family's, polynesian so it was.
Big they go big for graduating and we just celebrated
with like four hundred of my closest.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
Relatives, So, cowsul.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
You're gonna be an.

Speaker 5 (31:04):
Hour Alabama State, hornet give us a little bit of
insight about how this game is emerging and growing at
the college.

Speaker 11 (31:11):
Level, yes so shout Out Bama. STATE a collegiate level
game has grown. Tremendously just within the past few. Years
the amount of schools that offer flag football has, doubled
and as of right, now there are about sixty schools
that have it or sixty colleges that have it sanctioned
in their.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
School so that's super.

Speaker 11 (31:30):
Exciting it's definitely a growing game and just the opportunity
given to younger girls to have the opportunity to play
and go to school and get an education is just.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Amazing high school.

Speaker 8 (31:43):
Sports maybe they're a little bit some time ago for,
us but they were.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
All a big part of all of our.

Speaker 8 (31:48):
Lives what's your recruiting pitch to high school er is
as they would relate, to, like why should you play flag?

Speaker 1 (31:53):
Football?

Speaker 11 (31:54):
Yeah high school sports is very. Important that was the
driving force of The flag Fifty Super bowl. Commercial it
was about pushing flag football in all high schools across
the country and it's definitely. Working SO i love this.
Sport so to all the girls that are interested in, playing.
Play it teaches you, skills gives you life lessons and,
values and it just helps you develop as a.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Person and a. Leader and most of, all it's.

Speaker 7 (32:18):
Fun we have some really great teams In, dallas And
i'm always joking with. THEM i want to come and try.
Out but, That cynthia is reminded. Me i'm forty four
and my bones are. Brittle but what do you think
are the three most important traits for a flag football?

Speaker 11 (32:31):
PLAYER i would say, passion, discipline and. CONSISTENCY i got.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Those Cynthia Jane coast to, me why Consistency? KILOLO i
remember you mentioning that In New orleans after The Super?
Bowl why do you keep using that word with the.

Speaker 11 (32:48):
Sport being consistent just allows you to gradually progress in
so many. Ways it shows that you can be trusted
as a person and as an.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
Athlete, yeah we got to get your expertise here because
the three of us have never played flag football at.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
The level that you.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
Are what do you think of this team that's going
to be playing for The, olympics THE usa?

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Team who do you think is going to make that?

Speaker 11 (33:16):
Team, ooh there's a lot of good flag players out,
there but if it would be cool to, see you,
know a couple OF nfl players pulling. Flags SO i
think on my team it would be First Pooka, nkua big,
Body Justin, jefferson my, boy his hands and speed is just,

(33:38):
unmatchable Say Kwon, Barkley he's a. Playmaker and Then Travis,
hunter rookie, Sensation he's, great he's very. Versatile and Then
Sauce gardner.

Speaker 7 (33:49):
Straps now SEE i Harassn ostico WHEN i see, her
because LIKE i, SAID i Still i'm.

Speaker 6 (33:55):
INTRIGUED i still might want to go out for The dallas.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Team what are some.

Speaker 7 (33:59):
Of the nuances that separate flag football FROM nfl? Football
what were you to say on the, season for, instance
if there's somebody at home that's, THINKING i might want
to enroll my kid in, It what are some of
the differences for people that aren't familiar with the nuances
of the.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
GAME i would say it's a very fast paced.

Speaker 11 (34:16):
Game it's twelve minute, halves so you have to constantly
stay on your, feet constantly stay on your. Toes you
have to have a lot of spatial, awareness football.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Awareness it does take a lot of.

Speaker 11 (34:27):
Work even though it looks a little bit easier than other,
sports it's definitely very competitive and very. Fast SO i
think just adjusting and really focusing on just kind of
knowing the game and just being.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Aware, kilo do you do you remember when you filmed
Your Super bowl? Commercial didn't they have to put like
a harness on you to lift you? Up and How
saquon just had to do that for the mat and.
Cover can you believe they stole your? Technique?

Speaker 2 (34:53):
NO i.

Speaker 11 (34:53):
DON'T i don't know what you're talking. ABOUT i had no,
HARNESS i. Did i'm just Great, No i'm just. Kidding,
yeah they.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
That was dope to.

Speaker 11 (35:01):
Me maybe he just wanted to be like. ME i don't,
know unsetter or. Something that's what we're talking.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
About. Kilolo you're the.

Speaker 8 (35:07):
Best oh my, gosh so good to see you and
hear from.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
